Join Jim and Greg for the Friday 3 Martini Lunch as they chronicle the parade of elected Democrats consistently ratcheting up their irresponsible rhetoric after immigration enforcement-related shootings. They also dive into the massive demand for change in Iran and Megyn Kelly drifting further in a bad direction.First, they're encouraged to see millions of Iranians in the streets condemning the mullahs who have left them destitute and demanding an end to the current government. The regime has now shut off internet access. Will a violent crackdown ensue, or will the movement just keep growing?Next, Jim and Greg vent as Democrats from Minnesota to Oregon and beyond react to shootings involving ICE and Customs & Border Patrol by demonizing federal law enforcement officers and inflaming the people they are supposed to be serving. Is it because they want rage instead of calm? Finally, they reject Megyn Kelly's latest explanation for standing by Tucker Carlson's softball interview of Nick Fuentes and her contention that Fuentes is "very interesting, very smart, and, on a lot of things, there is a lot of value to be derived from that guy's messaging."Please visit our great sponsors:Visit https://CoastPay.com/3ML to get free gas for a whole day. In today's interview with Daniela Cambone, trends forecaster Gerald Celente issued a dire economic alarm, declaring the U.S. has roughly five months to avert a systemic crisis sparked by a looming blowup in the repo market. "The repo market. Oh, let's go back to 2019, when the repo market crisis was happening. Everybody forgot about it when the COVID war was launched," Celente states, drawing a direct parallel to today. He points to a cascade of data signaling imminent collapse: towering commercial real estate vacancy rates, non-renewals of long-term leases, and banks increasingly unable to cover the losses. "They're not going to be able to pay off the loans on these office buildings, and the banks don't have the money to cover the losses... That was 3 banks in 2023. This is going to be many more."

Join Jim and Greg for the Thursday 3 Martini Lunch as they break down the facts surrounding Wednesday's ICE-involved shooting in Minneapolis and highlight both the mature and the grossly irresponsible reactions from political figures. They also update one of Wednesday's martinis and wonder if Kari Lake is planning a political comeback in a different state.First, after noting House Speaker Mike Johnson's comments on taxpayer-funded abortions, Jim and Greg carefully walk through what actually happened in Thursday's Minneapolis shooting. They spotlight NBC's moment-by-moment coverage of the confrontation and commend those who resisted the urge to rush to judgment before the facts were clear.Next, they sharply criticize Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey for what they describe as wildly irresponsible overreactions and immediate conclusions about the fatal incident. Jim also calls out Minneapolis public schools for canceling classes for multiple days, suggesting the reasoning behind that decision is all too obvious. Finally, they shift gears and address the speculation that Kari Lake might run for U.S. Senate in Iowa after recently purchasing vacation property in her home state. So far, Lake is doing little to end the rumors of another campaign after statewide losses in Arizona in 2022 and 2024.Please visit our great sponsors:Visit https://CoastPay.com/3ML to get free gas for a whole day. The coaching carousel gets even crazier when Mike McDaniel suddenly becomes available, and the guys immediately frame him as a potential offensive coordinator jackpot, not the Giants head coach. They break down why his scheme is so “nerdy” and QB friendly, why Jaxson Dart could benefit from that kind of detail and precision, and why Stefanski and Harbaugh still sit in a different tier as head coach options. Plus, the conversation swings into the staff building obsession, the Dolphins emerging as a real Harbaugh threat, and the chaos theory: when an upgrade appears, teams start firing coaches just to get in the race.

Gerald Celente joins Kerry Lutz to break down the accelerating economic and geopolitical crisis unfolding worldwide. As governments prioritize military spending during economic downturns, Celente warns that consumers — not economies — are being sacrificed. Gold and silver are surging as safe-haven assets, signaling rising fear beneath the surface. The Trends Research team argues this shift reflects growing expectations of a much larger global conflict. The discussion covers Europe's leadership failures, U.S. foreign policy, and escalating tensions in Ukraine, Israel, and Iran, exposing the widening gap between peace rhetoric and military reality. They also examine Gen Z's political awakening, growing disillusionment, and pushback against an expanding "nanny state" as opportunities shrink and debt piles up. To look at Shirley Yang Crutchfield's gilded, 24k gold-leaf art portraits of women means you notice the details, the nuance, the shine, and the artistry. What you may not know is that up until a few years ago, she was in the tech world, not the art world. After convincing master water gilders to teach her the ways of their art only 2 years ago, she has already been recognized for exceptional craftsmanship and resonance, including joining Art Basel Miami in 2025.Shirley's work draws on art history, fashion, contemporary heroines, and her own entrepreneurial journey. Shirley uses a 14th-century Italian water gilding technique, doratura a guazzo. Her art celebrates the strength and resilience behind success, inviting viewers to appreciate the stories that lie beneath the surface. Before becoming a professional artist, Shirley had a long career in tech where she worked in tech at Fox, Sony, Amazon, NBC. Stijn Schmitz welcomes Marc Faber to the show. Marc Faber is Contrarian Investor and Publisher of the Gloom, Boom, & Doom Report. Their discussion centers on global economic trends, monetary policy, and the impact of continuous money printing by central banks. Faber, a proponent of the Austrian school of economics, critically examines the current financial landscape, highlighting how central banks and financial institutions are incentivized to continuously print money, which leads to uneven price increases across various assets. Faber argues that money printing fundamentally distorts economic systems, with financial institutions benefiting first from monetary expansion while average workers experience declining real wages. He points out that while nominal GDP might show growth, real purchasing power for most people has actually decreased. The conversation explores the historical context of economic cycles, with Faber referencing economists like Kondratiev and discussing how societies rise and decline. The discussion shifts to geopolitical dynamics, particularly the changing global power balance between the United States and emerging powers like China and Russia. Faber suggests that the US is no longer in the dominant position it held post-World War II, with potential competitive challenges emerging from other global powers. Regarding investment strategies, Faber recommends diversification across assets like real estate, precious metals, stocks, and cash. He sees particular potential in gold, silver, and platinum as alternative currencies, and believes these metals can serve as protection against monetary devaluation. He’s especially bullish on platinum, suggesting it might eventually surpass gold in price. Faber’s investment philosophy emphasizes understanding price dynamics over specific company details, advocating for purchasing assets below their intrinsic value. He remains skeptical of government interventions and central bank policies, viewing them as potentially destructive to long-term economic stability. Gold's surge toward $6,000 is no longer just a bullish forecast — it's a reflection of mounting debt, persistent inflation, and a growing loss of confidence in the fiat monetary system. According to legendary trader Todd “Bubba” Horwitz, the move higher in precious metals is a logical response to economic conditions that continue to deteriorate beneath the surface.“You know, there's a big problem in this country. It's called debt. It's called inflation,” Horwitz says in a conversation with Daniela Cambone. He argues that gold's rapid ascent should not be viewed as extreme, explaining that once prices reach higher levels, further gains come faster. “There's a real good chance that we could hit 6, 7, or 8,000 this year,” he says.Horwitz also points to silver's strength as confirmation that the precious metals bull market is broadening. “Notice how the spread, the ratio between gold and silver has dropped so precipitously,” he notes, highlighting the collapse from over 100:1 last year to closer to 60:1 today. With silver increasingly used in industrial applications, demand continues to rise. “It has become much more in demand for the batteries that they're making with silver,” he says.Chapters: 00:00 Silver's Next Move03:09 What's Driving Silver's Price Surge?06:04 Why Precious Metals Will Keep Rising07:06 Is the U.S. Dollar Really Strong?08:54 Can the U.S. Service Its Debt?10:15 Venezuela's Impact on the U.S.12:07 The Case for Nuclear Power13:22 Bubba's Message for 2026✅ FREE RESOURCESDownload The Private Wealth Playbook — a data-backed guide to strategically acquiring gold and silver for maximum protection, privacy, and performance. Markets are hitting all-time highs, earnings expectations are rising, and investors are navigating everything from oil prices to Roth conversions. Lance Roberts & Danny Ratliff take live viewer questions and explore the themes investors are most focused on right now. Topics discussed include why earnings may be the primary market driver this year, what recent all-time highs signal for forward returns, and how capital flows are shifting across sectors and asset classes. We also examine oil markets—WTI pricing, energy stocks, Venezuela supply dynamics—and what the “sweet spot” for oil prices means for the broader economy. On the planning side, we address Roth IRA advantages and drawbacks, Roth conversions, RMD considerations, and asset allocation questions across different life stages, including retirement-focused portfolios. Additional discussion covers the growing disconnect between GDP and unemployment data, hidden consumer leverage through buy-now-pay-later programs, and how diversification differs from simply owning non-correlated assets. We also touch on factor rotation, bond ETF structure, metals like gold and silver, and whether certain defensive or out-of-favor sectors may eventually regain investor interest. 0:00 - INTRO 0:18 - Earnings to be The Big Driver this Year 5:45 - Markets Hit All-time Highs 9:23 - Economic Summit Preview & Danny's Holiday Recap 12:25 - WTI, XLE, and Venezuela Oil 17:51 - What is the "Sweet Spot" for Oil Pricing? 21:23 - Tax Advantages - Disadvantages of Roth IRA 24:38 - Where to Look for Capital Flows 27:08 - Roth Conversions & RMD's 28:27 - Commentary - Divergence Between Unemployment & GDP 31:10 - Unrecognized Debt - Buy Now - Pay Later is a Black Box 31:53 - Recommendations for 60-40 Allocations 35:03 - Example of Bond ETF's in SimpleVisor 38:57 - Factor Rotation Portfolio 41:54 - Diversification vs Non-Correlated Assets 44:46 - Silver, Gold, & Other Metals 45:51 - Back Door Roth Conversions 47:30 - Asset Allocations for Septuagenarians 50:18 - Are Packaged Food stocks Ever Coming Back? Your physiology doesn't always follow what the textbooks say. In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Marco Altini (ultra runner, endurance coach, data scientist, and thinker at the intersection of physiology, technology, and performance). Marco opens up about the moment he realized that doing the same high-carb diet he recommended to himself for years wasn't actually working as well as he thought. He walks us through how shifting to a periodized approach - changing fueling based on training demands rather than sticking to a fixed carb ratio - improved his fat oxidation, gut health, and performance markers in ways he hadn't seen before. Marco grounds the discussion in real data, including how his substrate oxidation changed after adjusting his diet and why better metabolic flexibility matters for endurance athletes. Along the way, we tackle common misconceptions about high-carb diets, the link between GI distress and fueling strategy, and why testing beats guessing when you want to understand your own response to food and training. What we cover in this episode:Why metabolic efficiency is not a single target, but a moving rangeHow nutrition periodization can support training without wrecking your gutThe overlooked connection between GI distress and everyday dietary patternsWhat Marco learned from tracking substrate oxidation instead of guessingHow fat oxidation and VO₂-related metrics can change with nutrition shiftsWhy weight loss is not the same thing as improved performanceThe role of testing in understanding what your body actually responds toHow to think critically about fueling without copying elite or influencer strategiesLinks:Follow Dr. Altini's Substack and find him on Instagram @altini_marcoMarco's Substack article "Periodized Nutrition and Metabolic Flexbility for Endurance Performance"Marco's Substack article "Learnings from a Year of Periodized Nutrition and Metabolic Testing"Bob's Metabolic Efficiency Training book (3rd edition)More about our guest: Marco holds a PhD cum laude in applied machine learning, a M.Sc. cum laude in computer science engineering, and a M.Sc. cum laude in human movement sciences and high-performance coaching. US equity futures mixed with S&P down 0.1%, following Tuesday's gains, which saw new ATH for Dow and S&P logged its first fresh record close since 24-Dec. Bonds firmer. US 10-year yields down, 2-year flat. Dollar is little changed. Oil down. Gold lower. Industrial metals mixed. Bitcoin is softer. Elsewhere, European equity markets are mostly firmer and Asia's are mixed. Sentiment remains bullish. More sell-side commentary are on Tuesday talking up valuation argument for European stocks. In addition, underlying resilience in macro backdrop another supportive factor. AI-narrative into the new year has focused on the positives rather than the risks. Geopolitical environment is febrile, yet implications for equity markets appear limited for now. President Trump said on social media that Venezuela will send 30-50M barrels of oil to US at market prices and proceeds to be controlled by Trump.Companies mentioned: Lukoil, Mobileye Global, Meta Platforms, Chevron
After a volatile first half and another year of strong headline returns, Ryan Detrick, Chief Market Strategist, and Sonu Varghese, VP, Global Macro Strategist at Carson Group, step back to assess what actually shaped markets in 2025 and what that foundation means heading into 2026.They revisit why early-year turbulence caught so many investors off guard, how companies navigated tariffs and margin pressure more effectively than expected, and why earnings growth remained the quiet backbone of the rally. The conversation then turns forward, covering their 2026 outlook for stocks and bonds, the role of AI-driven capital spending, global market leadership, and why sentiment continues to lag reality even as breadth improves. Along the way, they discuss inflation stickiness, labor market crosscurrents, policy tailwinds, and where diversification still matters most as the cycle matures.Key Takeaways: • Earnings did the heavy lifting: Profit growth and margin resilience, not valuation expansion, powered market gains • Volatility followed the script: Early-year drawdowns fit historical patterns despite widespread surprise • Global leadership expanded: International markets and cyclicals outpaced expectations as breadth improved • AI spending surged: Capital expenditures accelerated across major tech platforms, reinforcing long-term growth trends • 2026 outlook remains constructive: Above-average equity returns and modest bond gains hinge on steady growth without recessionJump to:0:00 — Setting The Stage For 20251:48 — Tariffs, Liberation Day, And Market Bottom4:30 — Sentiment, Concentration Myths, And Breadth9:45 — Speculation Falls, AI Leaders Repriced14:45 — Small Caps, Transports, And Rate Cuts22:30 — IPO Drought, Private Markets, And Valuations27:20 — Media Moments, Gold, And Diversifiers32:20 — Fed Cuts, Dots, And Labor Revisions40:10 — 2026 Playbook: Mid Caps, Financials, Healthcare46:30 — Global Vs. Tried to mine some gold from the Talmud at the start of the program, but didn't get any, then talked a good bit about the upcoming Qadhi dialogue and the inane attempts to parallel that with the politically motivated Christless Nationalism interactions with Nick Fuentes. Then we moved on to how quickly people forget history and fall into repeating it, to their own detriment.
Commodities are going nuts right now, with copper now parabolic joining silver on the crazy train. Gold is lagging behind both, which is not a good sign for each's ability to stay on the upside. Meanwhile, at the complete other end of the commodity spectrum is oil, not just in terms of prices but key spreads in Middle East markets. One of those just flipped for the first time in years, signaling growing worries about global demand. Dave Collum is a Professor of Chemistry at Cornell University. In this conversation, we discuss asset prices in 2025, the economy, and the impact of monetary policy on markets. Dave explains why he believes the stock market is overvalued, why he's concerned about risk assets, and why he's uneasy about gold's strong performance despite being a major holder.
