Assigned the task of reviving the firm's fortunes in 2020, Calhoun will aim to finalize the pivotal undertakings in progress in a bid to consolidate and pave the way forward for the organization, as stated in a company release. Alongside the imminent exit of Calhoun, Boeing also revealed plans for a comprehensive revision of its executive roster, as part of a determined effort to restore its standing. In addition to the looming leadership reshuffle, several other strategic personnel changes will occur effective immediately, in order to breathe new life into the legendary aerospace firm. Stan Deal, the top executive of Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), is another key player bidding farewell to the corporation. The position of leadership that Deal leaves vacant will be filled by Stephanie Pope, the former chief operating officer ready to take on the challenges ahead. Pope, a firm veteran, was formerly responsible for the guidance and monitoring of the performance of Boeing's three enterprise divisions, namely, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Defense, Space & Security and Boeing Global Services. Her ample experience in all these areas is expected to play an instrumental role in shaping the future of the company. Another significant exit has been the Independent Board Chair Larry Kellner's announcement of his impending resignation. Taking up the mantle will be Steve Mollenkopf, who has been actively associated with Boeing since 2020. Entrusted with leading the process of identifying future leadership, Mollenkopf's role will be critical in these times of transition. Earlier this year, a change at the helm of Boeing's 737 Max program took place in the company's Renton, Washington establishment with the replacement of Ed Clark. Also, Elizabeth Lund, previously the senior vice president and general manager of Airplane Programs, was named to an innovative role emphasizing quality control measures. In a heartfelt address to the workforce on Monday, Calhoun drew attention to the airplane incident on January 5, where a door panel disengage off Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 at 16,000 feet, labeling it as a defining moment for the aerospace behemoth. Former President Donald Trump has won the New Hampshire Republican primary, defeating former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley. Boeing's 737 Max passenger jets have caused serious problems–including two deadly crashes that grounded the planes worldwide for a year and a half. Now there's a chance the company's latest jet won't make it to production, which could result in a massive loss in sales.According to Barron's, Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun hinted in a recent interview that the 737 Max 10 may have to be dropped from production. Melius research analyst Robert Spingarn estimated that the company already has 639 orders for the Max 10 and, if canceled, those customers may turn to Airbus, which could cost Boeing billions in potential sales.The primary issue for the Max 10, which will be one of the biggest jets in Boeing's lineup, is commonality on the flight deck. The company wants Congress to extend a deadline for making changes to the Max 10's flight deck. Otherwise, pilots would need separate training for the Max 10 and that could cause issues for airlines.According to the report, Boeing officials have expressed confidence that flight deck commonality issues won't end up derailing Max 10 production. But Calhoun told Aviation Week that his company still has to face the possibility of moving forward without its new jet.“If you go through the things we've been through, the debts that we've had to accumulate, our ability to respond, or willingness to see things through even a world without the -10 is not that threatening,” he said.Despite possible production issues going on in the background, Boeing said the 737 Max 10 would make its international debut this month at the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK. The jet will join Boeing's 777-9 in the daily flying and static display, and the company said the airplanes will fly to the show on a blend of sustainable aviation fuel.Boeing is still producing and selling older 737 Max models like the 8 and 9 but the upcoming 10 will give it a major piece for competing with Airbus. Without it, the company and its shareholders will face yet another crisis.

The chip is said to be able to deploy an experimental new vaccine, developed jointly by Moderna and U.S government, that could change human DNA. Airplane manufacturer Boeing expressed concern last week about losing out to competitors due to Washington and Beijing's trade spat. Addressing the US Chamber of Commerce Aviation Summit last Wednesday, Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun said he is hopeful that intellectual property, human rights, and other things can be separated from trade to encourage a free trade environment between the USA and China and ensure the American company does not lose out on the Chinese market. The company sells approximately 25% of its jetliners to China and has been under immense pressure from US authorities for the large share it holds in the Chinese domestic airline market share since the Trump era.  French President Emmanuel Macron announced the country's third lockdown last week as France continued to see a sharp surge in daily COVID infections. France has registered over 4.6 million COVID positive cases and registered nearly 100,000 deaths. President Macron had initially decided to avoid lockdowns in the country, after suffering heavy economic losses due to its two previous lockdowns. According to the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies, the two coronavirus lockdowns in 2020 caused the French economy to suffer its worst economic marker since World War II with its GDP falling 8.3%.
