Dabei handelt es sich um ein Event für Versicherer, veranstaltet von Earnix. Dort habe ich Michael Ammann von Simpego getroffen. In dieser Episode sprechen wir darüber, wie Simpego Künstliche Intelligenz verwendet, um ihr Pricing zu bestimmen. Bei so übersättigten Märkten wie der KFZ-Versicherung geschieht Differenzierung fast nur noch über den Preis, das bestätigt auch Michael. Bei Simpego findet das auf Basis zahlreicher Faktoren wie Automodell, Wohngegend, Fahrerdaten, sozio-ökonomischer Zahlen uvm. statt. This episode focuses on the crash courses, training sessions, and workshops that the company Excelerate provided pre-pandemic. I had the pleasure to speak with Whitney Pettis, who is the founder of Excelerate and she spoke about the online and in person courses that her company offered to those who were looking to change careers, learn new skills, or just add to their resume. She mentioned that just by adding a computer programming skill to your resume could boost your salary by 10K-20K depending on the skill. She and I met a few years back when she initially had few classes she offered like SQL, Excel, and learning about Excel formulas and from that point on, her business grew to a point where she was able to get into her own building to host classes. Once the pandemic hit and the shutdown happened, it stopped everything for her like most of us in the world. She then went on to provided strictly online courses but that wasn't bringing in much of the revenue that she anticipated so she turned to another alternative. As word got out about her business, more companies started to reach out to her for consulting purposes to basically training company employees on the different skills she provides like learning SQL, and how to communicate through data among other skills. Her love for both technology and entrepreneurship has helped her catapult her career tremendously. She has a love for teaching which has helped so many people especially in the black community. Technology and the medical fields are the most demanding and high paying jobs in the world, we as black people need to take full advantage of the many opportunities that are out there for us to be in these fields and not just be consumers or patients. I would like to thank my dear friend Whitney again for being on the show sharing her experience and the many work she's doing to help move the culture forward as a business owner and as someone who trains those who are looking to be in the technology field.

She understands the unique responsibilities that come at the executive level and has created programs like the Executive Accelerator to help executives think strategically, elevate their presence, finesse their communication, achieve their goals and provide sustainable business results in a productive environment. An early taste of leadership at the highest level Kimberly had some unique opportunities very early on in her career. While in grad school, she worked for a home care agency and quickly got promoted. She eventually became General Manager and then partner, and then started a home health care firm of her own and grew it to a multi-million dollar business within months. That gave her an early taste of what it was like to be a leader at the highest level. Leadership in Fortune 500 companies Kimberly went on to do marketing for several Fortune 500 companies. She noticed that many of the principles that work in marketing for consumers also work for people. She saw that the leaders who knew how to communicate with people and cared about the impact they had, were unique in their ability to create results and develop a strong fan base within their organizations. Strong leadership Kimberly is passionate about helping leaders become the very best they can be. She loves working with executives because leaders who can lead at their highest potential can create a better experience, and a better world, for many other people. What has changed? Leadership within organizations has evolved. It is no longer the top-down leadership that it was twenty years ago. Now there are more opportunities for people to have a voice at all organizational levels. That means that leaders have to be better communicators. A generational shift A generational shift has happened in the last twenty years. As a result, many younger leaders are in high-level positions today. More energy Ten years ago, most of Kimberly's clients were in their fifties. Today, most of them are in their early forties. She likes working with younger executive leaders because they have more energy and vitality. They also have a longer runway. That changes how they lead and the strategic risks they are willing to take. Visibility Today, leaders are also more visible, so they are under more scrutiny. A challenge for younger leaders The challenge the younger leaders of today face is that they lack the depth of experience many C-level executives had in the past. So, they have to be confident, nimble, and responsive and find ways to figure things out quickly. They also need to have an excellent executive presence in any environment. The five leadership leaps Even excellent senior leaders need to leap to reach the C-level because C-level executives no longer have anyone looking out for them or checking in on them. The stress level at the C-level is also exponentially higher. Kimberly talks about five leadership leaps senior leaders have to make when going up to the executive level: Self-leadership, self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-regulation. Strategic leadership. (Many people today do not know the difference between a strategy and a tactic.) Organizational leadership. (This involves a shift in relationships in the organization.) Executive team leadership. (Bringing people together to work in alignment without telling them what to do.) External leadership. (Showing up with executive presence, being articulate, and making on-the-spot wise decisions.) Entrepreneurs Entrepreneurs are executives, so entrepreneurs also need to navigate those leaps. Leaders Good people leaders do not necessarily make good executives because they might not have the grit and executive presence they need to succeed at an executive level. Identifying the people who should be promoted Kimberly guides her clients to look for three characteristics in the individuals who should be promoted: Competence Grit Strong executive presence (or the potential for developing it) Women Women still tend to be more timid than their male counterparts in certain areas. To avoid being overlooked for a promotion, women can ask for more responsibility, do more proactively, demonstrate a desire to learn, and never rely on their work to get noticed. A personal PR plan Kimberly's clients create personal PR plans to ensure their work gets noticed. A personal PR plan is like marketing. It involves identifying your talents and making sure the world knows what they are so that you can be known for them, hired for them, and trusted for having them. Changing people's perception of you It takes less than six months to change the way people see you if you align in a way that corresponds with who you are. The great resignation The news is full of stories about “the great resignation” because so many people in Corporate America are leaving their jobs. After the pandemic, people are fatigued and burned out, and they have seen different ways of doing things. They are leaving their jobs because, amongst other things, they want flexibility, and they do not want to work around the clock. I was going reciprocity. So seeing them take down splyce was awesome!! Their Sunday wasn’t so good. They’re so close to being on par with tox and splyce. But they just keep misplaying objective I find. But it’s was an exciting tournament. As always wonderboy and the guys in the background did an incredible job with the observer mode part! The casting in halo is always top notch. And seeing what they did for Simms on the cast was heartwarming. It’s got me excited for dreamhack! Can’t wait to see how splyce answers to dropping a tournament. And see how tox does with defending a title once again. And how all the other teams improve over the next few months through an even harder grind!! Real question here though. I know you guys had spitballed doing like an Xbox live party chat viewing party. If you end up doing that it would be awesome!!! Have some people to talk to between the games. About all the big moments that always happen. Gas HCS Favorite series. Lucid vs Trifecta. The GF Series 2 is an obvious choice but the reaction from the Trifecta guys and EU support for their best chance at T8 was quality. Not the result I wanted but cracking game all the same. Why it was a feature stage game I’ll never know Moments. Honestly they didn’t get the result they wanted but bubudubu getting increasingly hype in the series of Excelerate vs Renegades. He was consistently making clutch plays and let them know about it. Mikwen and Penguin reminded everyone that they are top tier players. I think Mikwen went 16-6 first map against Splyce in Losers Semis. Insane performances all round. Frosty giving one of the best individual games I’ve ever seen in Refuge CTF v Splyce also. Inhuman Favorite Series? -Reciprocity Vs Splyce (Saturday and Sunday) : was interesting to see the major contrast in both teams between the 2 series on both days. Players- @SnakeBiteFPS was popping off all weekend, didn't get nearly enough attention. Moment- renegade taking the L Jim Efantis I loved the video wall. I also loved the post game breakdown with each of the players. It was a great show! Only drawback, the cut back to the desk with Lottie and the boys seemed to drag on a but too much. Halo: Fireteam Raven thoughts and impressions Trevor’s Thoughts First of all, had a lot of fun. I enjoyed the action, non stop, the visuals, and the moments with master Chief. I wish the music was a little louder, or there was a way to drown out the exterior noise. Gameplay wise, my gun and reticle we're very unsynced, felt way behind, not sure if everyone else had that problem. Also, sometimes hard to tell which character is attacking you, especially with banshees. The turrets and rocket parts were my favorite, reloading wasn't that fun or intuitive imo. It was a good length, and not terribly expensive. Though I haven't played an arcade game in a long time. I enjoyed it overall, just a few issues, but a lot of fun overall. Too bad the link to waypoint account didn't work. Dom’s Thoughts I wish the QR code reader would've worked to track stats and wished the sound was a bit better as I couldn't hear the dialog much. Could've been due to being in a Dave and Busters, but I haven't had that issue playing something like Time Crisis. Time Crisis isn't even in a capsule either! Speaking of odd things, why they chose purple as a character color is beyond me. It was hard to spot my reticle at times when your fighting the purple covenant. Minor complaint, but still an odd choice considering all the colors they could've chose. Gameplay wise, the plasma pistol section of the game was puzzling. Nobody wants to nor enjoys maining with that gun and it's not really a gun meant for arcade shooters. I only use it to be a dbag online for easy kills and even then, I got a BR to use to get the kill. Otherwise I used it in Halo 2 Legendary campaign a lot. I was fine with the rest of the guns in all honesty. Game got repetitive and dull I'd say between the 3rd and 4th mission. Yes it's a rail shooter, but that's why you put in some good boss battles.This games big boss battles were big hunters, big flood, and a scarab at the end. Meh, meh, yay. And the yay part I've done many times in the other halo games. I mean, I have a rocket launcher with unlimited ammo and a shotgun that shoots like the Spas-12, couldn't we come up with some cooler things to fight too? Weapons were great aside from the plasma pistol. Rocket Launcher made me feel like a bad ass, shotgun was great, and then that turreted, grenade launcher thing at the end as awesome too. Grenades didn't really feel like grenades though. They feel more like a grenade launcher. I say that as it didn't really arc at all and they threw out very quickly as if it shot from a grenade launcher. Master Chief should've learned from Raven Team on how to throw a grenade. Viewership should be a lot higher, I think Halo 5 is very fun to watch and the money is also not to bad. Not enough events, online and offline, look at COD for example, that’s way more interesting. And nobody’s knows what’s happing next year. TS LocoElephante I wish it was halo 2/3 days. but ever since reach, the franchise has been going downhill. with 343 not outwardly seeming to be all in with their commitment to the community and past balancing issues, I can't see why any org would want to take the risk/part in an unknown. Alejandro Pena Sadly Halo doesn't have the reach *pun not intended* it had before. Orgs are there because of advertising money Night Fox Major orgs: The payout/amount of good teams are hard to break into because of buyouts. Plus viewership is pretty low compared to the other big Esports. Minor orgs: They are mostly “orgs” by name and therefore don’t have a lot of money backing them in the first place Also to note: some orgs that leave were fraudulent orgs TLock It just baffles me. Halo had the 2nd biggest payout of money last year for console eSports. Only behind CoD. Halo is now 3rd behind CoD and FIFA. Using this tweet for the info. It also doesn’t help that there’s no “regular season” and barely anything mentioning tournament updates and/or roster announcements from each org on the HCS Twitter. Players are constantly changing and it’s hard to have loyalty to an org if your watching from the fringe. I like players, and they just happen to be playing for the same org most of the time. Look at TOX for example, people loved them when they were CLG. When Optic took them over, people didn’t stop cheering for them because they had loyalty to CLG. And people who liked the old optic roster didn’t stop cheering for LOL who eventually became Str8.Then again when Optic left Halo, fans didn’t stop liking the roster.It’s hard to have a loyalty whenever things aren’t regionalized. I like what the PBL is doing with that. But unfortunately, it’s for a game that’s going on 3 years with little innovation from the developer. It'd be cool if we could reach out to a representative from the gears community (maybe a caster?) for comment on this. Also if someone from an org would comment too. They currently sponsor teams/players in Rainbow 6: Siege, PUBG, H1Z1, Forza, Madden, Injustice 2, Smash Wii-U, and mroe. They also sponsor a "twitch stream team." But as an org, there are a bunch of scenes that aren't marketable or valuable business-wise. Halo is a thing of the past to most sponsors/investors eyes so they rather explore new options. Viewership was at a critical state for the new game and it was due to the "optic" effect. That's meaning once optic gaming was out of the tourney then viewers dropped dramatically." Brian: "So despite Halo 5 having $1.4m in prize money across 16 tournaments for only 82 players in 2018 (2nd highest prize pool for console eSports only behind FIFA with $1.7m and nearly 3x the players), there's not enough viewership to justify things for an org?" Maze: "Yeah and another reason is that the player base is not ideal to work with, demanding large salaries without a good ROI%, they have comparatively minimal streaming metrics, social media impressions, etc. Halo adapted the COD mentality unfortunately. Expect the world but don't look at it as a business opportunity through both sides. It's been gimme gimme instead of something that makes sense for the player and the org." Brian: "Meaning that halo and players expect too much of the orgs without helping? What's an example of a game/company that does this well?" Maze: "Halo players want salary without giving back a return of prize winnings, but they don't create content [Youtube, twitter, twitch, etc.] and barely support sponsors of brands. Also fucking roster changes lol." Brian: "Yeah...roster changes seem like a nightmare from a business perspective." Maze: "We almost went back into Halo 8 months ago. But were like, it doesn't make sense for us to. My opinion on how to make that scene better: less events will bring higher viewership and minimize roster changes. For example, Madden this year has only 4 offline open events and the rest are online ladders to qualify to play offline. Same prize money as Halo with minimal risk for orgs plus NFL exposure for brands/sponsors/orgs. Now a days it is about metrics more than placements -- that's how sponsors gauge their interests.
