In an absurd twist that makes a mockery of a once-respected law enforcement institution, Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi have decided to create a 2nd Amendment Gun Rights unit at the Department of Justice.They have gutted DOJ's Civil Rights Section, Public Integrity Section, and Environmental Crimes and Enforcement sections, apparently concluding that voting rights don't need to be protected, public corruption and political grift don't need to be punished or deterred, and the environment does not need protection either. Notwithstanding that the United State has more guns per capita than any other country in the world, and more mass shootings - 401 thus far in 2025 - more than any other country, more guns is what America needs to be safer. This kind of imbecility endangers all Americans. Galatians 4:4-5 The Greatest Christmas Gift Many people assume Christmas is just a single day, December 25th, or perhaps two if you count Christmas Eve. But it is, in fact, a season of twelve days. Today is the eighth day of Christmas, and God has another present for you to unwrap: the greatest gift of all. This gift arrives “when the set time had fully come.” Not a moment too late or too soon, the gift came at a specific, perfect moment in history, precisely when it was most needed. The gift came from God, because “God sent.” He did all the work; all you do is receive it. What did he send? “His Son, born of a woman.” The eternal God took on human flesh and blood. He who had no beginning suddenly had a birthday, an age, a hometown, and a body confined to time and space. The One who fills heaven and earth humbled himself to dwell among us. This humbling involved being “born under law.” That means he placed himself beneath the very commandments he authored and lived a life of perfect obedience. Jesus wasn’t your Savior only for the six hours he spent on the cross; he spent thirty-three years before that fulfilling the law in your place, as your Substitute. Every commandment you break, he kept flawlessly for you. Why this perfect obedience? “To redeem those under the law.” That’s all of humanity, including you. We are all under God’s law and guilty of breaking it. So, Jesus kept that law for us and bore its punishment on the cross, buying our freedom from our slavery to sin. The glorious result? “That we might receive adoption to sonship.” That’s amazing! In his Son, God the Father has given you the greatest Christmas gift of all: He made you a member of his family. No longer a slave, you are now an heir of forgiveness, peace, comfort, hope, and the everlasting riches of heaven. Bondi is already in violation of the federal law that required ALL Epstein files to be disclosed publicly by December 19. Eliana and Maverick Beallis were six years old. On December 2nd, 2025, a court decided their father—a man their mother accused of strangling her—would get joint custody. On December 3rd, they were found dead alongside their mother from gunshot wounds. No arrest. No named suspect. No cause of death released. The national media wants this to be simple. Abusive husband kills family. System fails. But the court records tell a story about two parents with documented violence—and those kids were caught in the middle of all of it. Their mother Charity was arrested in 2013 for allegedly pointing a gun at a man. Her own father once went to court claiming she was dangerous to her firstborn child. In 2020, both parents slashed their teenage son's tires while holding infant twins—and Charity caught the aggravated assault charge. Their father Randall pled guilty to domestic battery in 2025. His previous wife also died from a gunshot wound in 2012, ruled a suicide. According to a police report, Charity's father allegedly told investigators that Charity confessed to that killing. Two adults with violent histories fighting over two children. Now three of them are dead and one walks free. Law enforcement says there's no ongoing threat to the public. The autopsy results are pending. Someone knows what happened inside that house. The only people who deserved none of this were Eliana and Maverick. On December 3rd, 2025, Charity Beallis and her six-year-old twins were found dead from gunshot wounds in their Bonanza, Arkansas home. It happened one day after she lost a custody battle to the husband she'd accused of strangling her. The national media drew a straight line: abusive doctor kills wife and children. But the documented record tells a different story. According to a 2021 police report, Charity's own father told investigators that she confessed to shooting her husband's previous wife—a woman who died from a gunshot wound to the forehead in 2012 in a case ruled suicide. That same father is now on national television demanding justice for his daughter. He's also the man who once went to court claiming Charity was too dangerous to have custody of her own son. In 2013, Charity was arrested for pointing a firearm at a man at the same address where that previous wife died. In 2020, both she and her husband slashed their teenage son's tires while holding infant twins—and she caught the aggravated assault charge, not him. Her son sued for emancipation from both parents. This isn't a simple case. This is two people with documented histories of violence locked in a fight over two children. One of them allegedly confessed to a previous killing. The other had a wife who also died by gunfire under disputed circumstances. And we still don't have a cause of death. No arrests. No named suspects. Autopsy results pending. Law enforcement says there's no ongoing threat to the public. The only innocent people in this story are Eliana and Maverick Beallis. They were six years old. Matthew 2:16 The Comfort of Christmas Herod, furious that the Magi left without telling him where Jesus was, went scorched earth and ordered every boy in the vicinity two years old and younger to be killed. Historians estimate that twenty to thirty children were murdered in his desperate attempt to eliminate the Christ child. It is uncomfortable to read this so soon after Christmas. Wouldn’t it be better to skip this part? Why remember such horror during Christmastime? Because it shows what happens when light enters a world of darkness. When the light arrives, the darkness does not politely step aside. It tries to snuff the light out. This is why Jesus came: to battle the darkness that rejected him from his very first days. This same battle between light and darkness continues in your own heart. When Christ’s light shines within you, your sinful nature fights against it. Yet God remains on your side—God rescued his Son from Herod’s sword so that his Son could rescue you from eternal darkness. Jesus’ death and resurrection became the ultimate light that conquers the darkness. And here lies one of the Bible’s hardest truths: though God possesses all power and hates evil, he still permits suffering. So here is the comfort of Christmas: God may save us from evil, or he may save us through evil. The boys of Bethlehem died tragically, but Christ the Savior was born not to save them from Herod, but from hell, and that is what he did. With God, wherever there is weeping, comfort follows. The grieving mothers of Bethlehem would see their sons again because their King came to save them through tragedy into heaven’s triumph. This is the comfort of Christmas. That even though the darkness could take the boys of Bethlehem away from their parents, it could not take them away from Christ. It cannot take you away from him either. Addressing the relationship between law and the visual, this book examines the importance of photography in Central, East, and Southeast European show trials. The dispensation of justice during communist rule in Albania, East Germany, and Poland was reliant on legal propaganda, making the visual a fundamental part of the legitimacy of the law. Analysing photographs of trials, Agata Fijalkowski's Law, Visual Culture, and the Show Trial (Routledge, 2023) examines how this message was conveyed to audiences watching and participating in the spectacle of show trials. The book traces how this use of the visual was exported from the Soviet Union and imposed upon its satellite states in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War. It shows how the legal actors and political authorities embraced new photographic technologies to advance their legal propaganda and legal photography. Drawing on contemporary theoretical work in the area, the book then challenges straightforward accounts of the relationship between law and the visual, critically engaging entrenched legal historical narratives, in relation to three different protagonists, to offer the possibility of reclaiming and rewriting past accounts. As its analysis demonstrates, the power of images can also be subversive; and, as such, the cases it addresses contribute to the discourse on visual epistemology and open onto contemporary questions about law and its inherent performativity. The Supreme Court has put a stop to Trump's efforts to militarize the streets of America. Specifically, they ruled that Trump cannot federalize Illinois National Guard troops and deploy them to the streets of Chicago. This is one of the first times the Supreme Court has pushed back on Trump's dictatorial zeal, and it's a ruling that likely will have broad implications regarding Trump's efforts to militarize Portland, Oregon, Los Angeles, California, and beyond.
