Witness to high-profile convicts like Afzal Guru, Manu Sharma, Charles Sobhraj, Maqbool Bhat, he gives an insider's perspective on what these criminals were like. Also witness to all the hangings at Tihar Jail, he reveals surprising facts about these high-profile convicts that highlights their humanity. He talks about reforming the prison system by introducing free legal aid for prisoners which went on to become a fundamental right in India. Sunil recounts how Tihar Jail was the first prison to begin video conferencing between the court and prisoners, among many other commendable reforms. When asked about his take on executions, he says he is against ‘faasi' as in his opinion, only the poor are hanged. The rich get away with a lot. He recalls how the staff at Tihar Jail handled Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal's imprisonment, when the entire jail premises were surrounded by protestors. A jailer with a law degree, he asserts that he is not afraid of any backlash because he is only telling the truth. Psalm 86 is a heartfelt prayer of David, expressing his deep need for God's mercy and help. It reflects David's humility and trust in God's power and goodness, and it can be divided into several key themes: 1.Request for Mercy and Protection (Verses 1-7): •David begins by asking God to listen to his prayer, emphasizing his own poverty and neediness. He acknowledges his reliance on God's steadfast love and seeks preservation of his life, indicating his commitment to God by calling himself a servant. David's plea is earnest, repeated throughout the day, reflecting his persistent faith and trust in God's responsiveness to those who call upon Him. 2.Declaration of God's Unique Greatness (Verses 8-10): •David extols God's incomparability among the gods, highlighting His great works and deeds. He acknowledges that all nations will ultimately worship God, recognizing His sovereignty and the ultimate recognition of His glory by all peoples. This section underscores God's uniqueness and supreme authority over all creation. 3.Personal Commitment and Trust (Verses 11-13): •David asks God to teach him His ways, desiring a heart united in reverence and truth. He expresses his determination to walk in God's truth and praises God for His great love and deliverance from the depths of Sheol, signifying David's profound gratitude for God's salvation and faithfulness. 4.Appeal for Divine Intervention (Verses 14-17): •The psalm concludes with David's plea for God to intervene against his arrogant foes who seek to harm him. He contrasts their wickedness with God's compassionate and gracious nature. David asks for a sign of God's favor, seeking reassurance of God's continued support and the shaming of his enemies through God's evident help and comfort. Key Takeaways: •Dependence on God: David's acknowledgment of his neediness and his appeal for God's mercy underscore the importance of recognizing our own limitations and the necessity of divine assistance. •God's Uniqueness and Sovereignty: The psalm highlights God's unparalleled nature and ultimate authority, reminding believers of the greatness and holiness of the One they serve. •Faithfulness in Adversity: David's trust in God despite his troubles serves as a model for maintaining faith and seeking God's guidance and protection during difficult times. •Prayer as a Lifeline: The continuous and earnest nature of David's prayer reflects the vital role of communication with God in the life of a believer. Psalm 86 is a powerful expression of trust, praise, and supplication, offering a profound example of how to approach God with our needs, worship Him for His greatness, and remain faithful in seeking His guidance and deliverance.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.

Join us for our Life of Purpose series this month as we revisit some of our most impactful episodes. Dive deep into expert insights and practical strategies on health, performance, and community, helping you achieve personal and professional fulfillment. If we make a practice in our lives, like going to the gym or eating healthy, if you want to lose weight and be fit, or you want to be chiseled, you've got to make a practice. It's a daily practice. You can't go to the gym for a week and eat cake for 30 days nonstop and say “hey what happened? I was getting in shape.”Whether you're feeling bad or feeling good, that doesn't matter. It's just your practice, like when you wake up and when you go to sleep. There are certain things you do. It's a fundamental practice. Just like you talk about with writing. It's a practice. Then you hit the flow state. Same thing in life. You make it a practice. Life hits a flow state.Things in life happen. People die. Nothing we can do to stop that. People we love die. Things happen. When we hit that flow state we bounce back much faster. The things that used to bring us down don't bring us down like before. Then it's only the real tragedies in life that bring us down. When a loved one dies, it's a real tragedy and that should bring you down. It's good to have loved someone that way and feel the loss. But the other stuff, the other garbage, the 99 percent of the stuff that brings us down that doesn't matter lessens and its power over us lessens. So, I would say to someone who is either down or up, what matters is a fundamental daily practice of working on your inner self that keeps you in your personal flow. - Kamal Ravikant Subscribe for ad-free interviews and bonus episodes https://plus.acast.com/s/the-unmistakable-creative-podcast. The Greek word (kerdaino) which means “to gain,” “acquire,” or “win (over)” was used five times in 1 Corinthians 9:19-22 by Apostle Paul. It was a transactional term used in the ancient business world to describe making a profit or trading up for something better. In effect, Paul saw himself as an agent of Jesus Christ offering lost people something far greater than they had. Were people enslaved to sin? Paul wanted to win them over to forgiveness and freedom in Christ. Were they futilely attempting to gain their own salvation by keeping the law? Paul sought to win them over to the grace of the gospel. He said, “I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some.” (1 Corinthians 9:22) He was laser-focused on soul-winning. For him, it was a personal choice and commitment toward winning people to Christ irrespective of their race, status, and position in the society.
We are grateful to God for this month of October. This month in our Movement is usually dedicated to Missions and Evangelism. The theme for this month across the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria is “TAKING TERRITORIES” and the theme text is Joshua 1:1-2. Our topic for this morning's message is “PERSONAL COMMITMENT TO SPREADING THE GOSPEL.” The Great Commission is a command and obligation, yet only a fraction of believers is committed to obeying the command or honouring their obligation to the Commission. As I look at our Church, I wonder how many of us are truly committed to spreading the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God was using Nehemiah to methodically rebuild the broken people of Israel. After hearing God's word read and responding through confession and repentance, it was time to solidify their rebuild through personal commitment. through a time of confession and repentance, the governor decided it was time to commit themselves to obey the laws and commands that God had given Israel so long before. In this episode, Kellan talks about the characteristics needed to get things done, which means serving with our divine gifts. He's talked over a number of episodes about pillars, going through pillars we built which were integrity, language, honesty, truth, etc... and now we have the seventh pillar - service. Putting that into context with all of us creating and living our ultimate life - do you enjoy the life that you created for yourself? Do you love what you have in front of you to do?Service is foundational and is in the premise of Your Ultimate Life. The question for today (and the name of the episode), however, is - Is Service Selfish? Is what you're doing help someone accomplish their goals, alleviate struggles or empower people to remove them? Yes or no? Some would say, "well, you're just doing good stuff so that someone will praise and recognize your good deeds, not done in "real" service." Only you can answer that question.Kellan's perspective is that we're here for a reason, and whether we engage regularly in our homes, neighborhood, networking events, zoom calls...we know that underneath that our soul expands when we lovingly and in a kind way, give service. That's how we're built.Let me leave you with this, if you want to grow as a person and develop yourself to the fullest extent, then service is a part of the menu. Service is something that you need to engage in freely, joyfully, happily, with no begrudging attitude.I want to encourage you, and assure you, that as you pursue these things, you'll create the power in your "palace of power." You will build a glorious life, and you will be living day after day, Your Ultimate Life. On May 23, Pastor Ken talked about a conversation with Paul that speaks to us today, regarding Personal Commitment, from Romans 12:1-2. Perspectives to Refresh our Personal Commitment: "Therefore” (the big picture). “I urge you by the mercies of God” (the highest motivation). “to present yourselves a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual act of worship” (the depth of service).

In this episode, Malcolm interviews Charles Moore and Rick Burke from the Bruderhof. They discuss their personal stories, the history of the Bruderhof, the connection of poverty and communal living to the Gospel, and the tension between culture and intentionality in the Christian life. The Bruderhof The Bruderhof (the name means “the place of brothers” in German) is a network of communities that originated in Germany in the 1920s. With the rise of Hitler the community fled, going first to England and then to Paraguay. Over time, the community grew, and now has over 3000 members in 29 different locations. They are dedicated to living out the Gospel as a group; among other things, this means that individuals in the group don’t own private property. Love in Community Rick pointed out that two Bible verses highlight the importance of living together as a community. In 1 John 4:20, we read “Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.” It is easy to fake love of God, but not so easy to fake loving care for brothers and sisters in Christ! Similarly, Rick pointed out that 1 John 4:12 says “No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is truly in our hearts.” That “but” is significant. The world is supposed to see God in the way Christians love one another. How can they see this if Christians don’t live in community? Our message is not just a bunch of words, but a concrete reality: the Kingdom of God. Communal Economics Why do the Bruderhof members hold everything in common? Why is communal living important? As Charles said, because it is important to God. The Bruderhof sees communal living as a way to live out Gospel poverty and to imitate Acts 2 and 4. Charles and Rick explained that if we see ourselves as one body in Christ, then we ought to hold our goods in common, just as a married couple do. Avoiding private property helps members to be detached and free to follow the Lord, and sharing material goods is a concrete expression of love. We discussed the importance of Christian unity, which can often be reduced to a philosophic or theological concept. In reality, unity should be demonstrated in daily life. The communal economics of the Bruderhof community is also a protest against the corrupting influence of Mammon in the world, and the violence and inequality which this influence causes. (For another discussion of the flaws in our current economic way of life, see the Happy Are You Poor episode on the topic here; we also discussed Gospel poverty in an episode that you can find here.) Following Jesus as the Sole Motivation Charles stressed that he didn’t join the Bruderhof to gain community. (In fact, he pointed out that he isn’t communal by nature!) Nor did he join the Bruderhof to “live differently” or to “escape the world”. He lives in community because the Gospel tells Christians to do so. If we see community as goal in itself, or an escape from the world, or as a means toward the success of a cause, it will fail. Only the love of Christ can support us in the daily task of serving one another in a community. Family is Sacred, but not Sufficient In any community, there can be tension between family life and the life of the community. The Family is instituted by God, and so is sacred; a community which tries to override family life is heading for disaster. On the other hand, we see from the Gospel that family is not sufficient. Families need to be integrated into a greater whole. Charles and Rick explained that in their experience, children adapt well to community life . . . in some cases, more easily than adults! Community Can’t Replace Commitment Community can’t replace personal commitment, whether for children or for adults. One of the dangers of Christian community is that it can obscure the need for each individual to make a choice to follow Christ. We can’t depend on social pressure, custom, or tradition, nor can we assume that because we fit in well with a community we are following Christ fully. Similarly, a child who grow up in the Bruderhof has to make a personal decision to remain with the community. Charles and Rick explained that parents in the Bruderhof can’t assume that their children will remain members; they may have a calling elsewhere. A related danger is basing a community on merely human strength or virtue, or seeing community as a gathering of one’s tribe or type. This will produce a clique, not a true Christian community. We’re all flawed, but in a community we can help to strengthen and support one another. Attachment Comes in Many Forms The Bruderhof emphasis on a communally economic way of life helps to avoid a certain kind of attachment, but Charles and Rick pointed out that another form of attachment is a particular danger for those living in community. Members of a Christian community can become attached to their traditions and customary ways of life. Charles emphasized that he didn’t join the Bruderhof because of the Bruderhof; he joined it to follow Christ. Communities have to remain open to the workings of the Holy Spirit, always ready to drop aspects of their culture if they are no longer a help to living the Christian life. In this episode, I interview Dr. Mark Matheson on the topic of honesty and how we can become more honest in our dealings with other people. Dr. Matheson has an MBA from Harvard and a doctorate in organizational leadership from UoP. From 2010 to 2019 Brother Matheson taught at BYU-Hawaii and Southern Virginia Universities. Before his retirement, he has been a partner and senior analyst with three investment banks. He was also an Adjunct Professor for four years and guest lectured at eight other universities. He taught at BYU Education Week for four years, seminary for five years and for the last seventeen years, when he is in Utah, he has served as a volunteer teacher serving the Utah State Prison. He loves to mentor young adults as they face multiple important life decisions. He posts thought-provoking ideas daily under the titles @ScriptureAnalyst and @ConferneceAnalyst, the same on both Instagram or Facebook. Five preliminary basic steps in improving honesty: 1) Perceive Dishonesty as a Threat to the Well-Being of Your Family 2) Seek to Understand Why You and/or Your Family has Dishonesty Issues or Events Here are two practices you can do now to analyze your level of honesty: **Conduct an Honesty Inventory for a day or a week- keep a pad and pen with you and see if you can tally how many honesty situations you are in or how many times you lied. **Do a Personal Honesty Assessment Reflect on your life and see where you have perhaps cut corners now or in the past. 3) Develop a Personal Commitment to Honesty Here are some self evaluation questions I use: Ask: Is honesty for you always a priority or only when someone calls you on it? Ask: Is honesty a proactive core characteristic of the way you conduct your life or is dishonesty the ‘default’ mode? Ask: Are we usually honest mainly when it is not inconvenient ? Is our internal consistent with our external? 4) As We Develop a Vision of Honesty for Your Family and the World 5) Trust in Positive Outcomes of Honest Behavior --Believe that honesty is the best long term course of action. --Believe that honesty is rewarded in the Long-run; not always in the short-run. -- Honesty skills need to be tested over time and under stress. I Found Two Related Core Traits of Honesty: Sacrifice & Humility 1) Sacrifice to Uphold Honesty Admit mistakes even when it costs something significant. You have to be prepared to walk away from profitable but dishonest dealings. 2) Embrace Humility as a Guard Against Dishonesty Much dishonesty stems from attempts to limit ego damage. We can improve in this by some simple actions: Accepting feedback from others Acknowledging error

#88 Your Personal Truth & CommitmentIn this episode of Your Ultimate Life, Kellan Fluckiger dives into the concept of creating your own personal truth and commitment document or manifesto for yourself. Abbreviated to "PTAC," this is a powerful declaration of who Kellan chooses to be in the world. The three points or takeaways will be: What is it? Why is it and Why to do it? The process is easy to get started, but, is complex to create. Your power comes from two sources. First, it comes from your divine nature and gifts. Second, it comes from what you believe to be true. Your thoughts create your feelings and your reality. This discovery allowed me to connect directly with God to understand who I was. I was then able to know "real truth" and declare it for myself. This helped me eliminate the consequences of my damaging past and make a conscious choice about who I now wished to be. Consequently, I was able to make a life-changing commitment about my purpose and intention.PTAC is NOT a series of affirmations or dreams or hopes, but, a firm declaration based on what I now KNEW to be true for me, and what I was willing to completely commit my life to become. “Your thoughts create your feelings and your reality.”Kellan Fluckiger is an author, speaker, business/life coach, and musician. - Kamal RavikantListener TribeWe have our own private social network for listeners of the Unmistakable Creative podcast. Tag Me Tuesdays-#423 February 27th The Strong Within Daily Affirmation Podcast I Am Love “When angry count to ten before you speak. If very angry, count to one hundred.” ~Thomas Jefferson What you put into the world is what will be returned to you. We know this on a conscious level, but we don't understand it on a subconscious level. It's hard to really understand that the energy we emit is returned back to us in a magical way. That Universe is returning to us who we are in every moment. It's a relationship that feels complex, that what is given is perfectly returned, and that seems so supernatural to us at times. That's why it's so important to remember that principle, especially when we feel angered or wronged. Well, that's only if we want to be freed from our anger instead of imprisoned by them. On a physiological level when you are angry your brain will not properly access the frontal lobe. And the frontal lobe's main process is to carry out higher mental processes such as thinking, planning, decision making, and judgment. And by getting to know that mere fact has brought so much enlightenment in my life. Because when I was upset or angry I felt like something was shut off inside me. I felt negative thoughts racing endlessly in my head. I felt sluggish in my thinking. I didn't feel like myself. And with anger it's like trying to win a race you're not even in. When we are angry we want to let it out, we want to vent or maybe we want to ruminate over it endlessly wishing for the other person to feel our pains. But wishing for someone else to feel our pains only expands our hurt within. We want to heal by getting it off our chest and releasing that anger. So we want to vent to that person, to anyone who will listen to us, or have an endless loop conversation within our minds. I was reading an article on health.com titled Things You Shouldn't Do When You're Angry by Linda Melone. She stated that “getting anger off your chest sounds like a good idea, but it may actually make matters worse. In fact, people who simply spent five minutes reading another person's online rants became angrier and less happy in a study published in the journal Cyberpsychology, Behavior and Social Networking. An earlier study also showed that venting anger by hitting pillows not only increased anger at that moment but made aggressive behavior more likely in the future.” What the venting or the immediate aggressive action towards our anger does for us is make us feel relieved temporarily. But it doesn't heal the process. I was reading a study a few years ago where rats who were being shocked would bite other rats to help them deal with the pain. And that's what we do, we do ineffective methods to relieve our pain temporarily, while creating negative habits that keep us in anger longer. So if you think about that for a moment, not only does venting make us angrier and more likely to express ourselves that way in the future, but it also affects the people around us in negative ways. I'm not saying we need to bottle our emotions in, but maybe venting has gotten more credit than it deserves. And if you think about a vent in your house, sure it pushes out or lets out air or gasses, but it doesn't force out crappy air…unless it's a bathroom of course. So our negative venting could literally be called crap. I think there's a fine line between venting to talk something out and then continual venting to stay within an emotion. I've been dealing with a personal issue that I feel sad about, and I've had the urge to vent and to express myself to be heard. Which can be a good thing, but I don't want to put that out into the Universe—not because I don't need to focus elsewhere than the sadness, but because if I vent I know I'll want to vent to someone else…and then someone else. For me, I've found I vent to stay within the emotion. It's a way for me to justify how I am feeling and not change. It's a way for me to stay in self-pity, and say poor old me, and then put someone or something else out there to blame. I think it's my way of stepping outside of hope. It's my way of turning my back on faith and focusing on fear. I'll look at the present moment with sadness and focus on doom as if it's the end of the world…instead of remembering that everything will always work itself out in the end. If something is meant to be it will happen. I internalize a lot of things and tend to ruminate too much on my problems. Which gets me caught in an endless thought loop that brings nothing but more frustration and sadness, not clarity. So sometimes I talk out loud to myself, so I can hear what I'm saying. And if it sounds crazy, I work to bring myself back to better feelings. We have the tendency to take our problems too far and generalize things in our minds as we might say “no one loves me, everything always goes wrong in my life,” or “I am always going to be stuck here.” And when I'm having a conversation with myself and I say some of those negative generalizations, I will ask a poignant question… “Chris is that true? Is that REALLY true?” And if I'm willing to heal, I will say “no” and then talk myself back to more healthy thoughts and feelings. I like to think of this saying during times of extreme frustration, “You won't be punished for your anger, you will be punished BY your anger.” So while I have the choice to feel frustrated and uncertain within a moment, I am also reminded that what I put out into the world is not only what I create in the world, but it is what I create within myself. And if I put more anger out into the world to vent, I am more likely to get into the habit of expressing myself more negatively in the future as well. So while I struggle with pain and frustration at the moment it's only because I have forgotten one of my greatest truths…I am love. And you…are love; we are love. We have been called by the Source of creation to spread more of what we were created from…love. So if you are feeling anger or frustration at the moment, breathe deeply, count to 10, count to 100, count to a million if need be and remember that you will become what you express. So if you want to bring more crap into your life and into the world then by all means focus on the negative venting you feel justified to do. But if you want to live in peace, harmony, and happiness then find ways to express who you are and always have been… love. Today's Personal Commitment: When anger consumes us, we make bad choices. But when we wish the best for people and for ourselves…we become love. When we want great things for everyone despite our pain, anger, or hurt…it frees us. It's not that you can't get angry, or that anger is bad, or even that you can never vent. Anything can be good or bad…it's how you use it. I think it's really about becoming so aware in the moment; that when you feel your temperature rising, that pressure in the center of your chest getting ready to explode, or your blood boiling…that you take some deep breaths and count to 10 if need be before reacting. Because if we let our anger make the choices for us by flying off the handle or flying into rage and upsetness…then we are not only out of control, but we are also creating the pathway for our brain to continue these patterns. Which will keep us trapped within our negative emotions rather than being freed from them. So what are some ways you can express more love in your life when you aren't angry? What are more ways you can focus and express love when you are angry? And how do you think you can create better patterns to be in control of your negative emotions rather than be controlled by them? Some examples I've used in my life to pivot from anger to love have been: -Going on a walk to have a conversation with myself -Counting to ten or a hundred to come back to being more rational and in control of my anger instead of the other way around -Going to the gym -If it's an argument with a person…I work on doing one thing different to change where my mind is going. Which could be saying let's go over here and talk and we physically move somewhere else to change the atmosphere, or it could be to stop trying to control the conversation and listen more, or maybe even saying something positive like “I respect you and I'm struggling here with anger let's step away for 10 minutes and come back to discuss this when I am more calm and controlled.” -Reading positive quotes or poems that remind me about control, hope, and peacefulness -Saying affirmations. So find your healing actions, and engrain them in your mind. That way the next time you are feeling pulled to the darker side of anger, you will have an arsenal to work with to help you win the battles you are fighting at the moment. Be love not hate, be love not anger, be love not upsetness, be love not frustration, be love not revenge, and be the warden of love not a prisoner to negativity. You are what you focus on, so where are you focusing on consistently? I Am Love Thanks for listening. Mindful Mondays-#422 February 26th The Strong Within Daily Affirmation Podcast My Disappointments Guide Me To Better Decisions We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment. Jim Rohn I remember watching a comedy called Meet The Millers With Jennifer Anniston and Jason Sudeikis. It's a silly premise where the main character creates a fake family to smuggle in a shipment from Mexico because he got involved with the wrong people and needs to correct his mistake. And the funniest part of the movie for me is when the fake daughter is hanging out with a tattooed boy who doesn't seem too bright. Jason who plays the fake father says to the young man sarcastically “hey those are some cool tatts man” and the young gentleman says “thank you bro” as he looks them over with pride and then the boy points to his arm quite beamingly and says “you see the cobra?” And then Jason says “what's that one?” as he points to the boy's neck. And the boy opens up his shirt, so you can see the tattoo better and he says, “that's my ‘creedo.' No REGRETS…” but he doesn't realize it's spelled wrong as it's spelled R A G R E T S.” And Jason says back to the young man, “you have no regrets?” and the boy responds “nope.” Then Jason says “not even a single letter?” and the boy responds again “no way, not me.” And Jason finishes off the scene even more sarcastically saying to his fake daughter “I love him, he's a real winner Casey.” I'll include the clip in my blog post on my site. Every mistake, every disappointment, and every moment that we wished we could get back…they weren't errors in our lives. They were chances for us to come to a higher awareness. I know it's easier said than done to have no regrets, and I'm not saying we shouldn't ever regret anything, but maybe we should look differently at regrets. I love acronyms because they help me remember lessons better. I'll give some famous acronym examples to help you get on my excitement for acronym bandwagon. You remember the frozen yogurt stores TCBY? Well, TCBY stands for The Country's Best Yogurt. In fact, it used to stand for This Can't Be Yogurt until they were sued by the company I Can't Believe It's Yogurt. Or another one you might not know is the word TASER, you know for the TASER gun, well that stands for Thomas A. Swift's Electrical Rifle. We could go on for days about acronyms we didn't know about, but let's get into my acronym to remember how to reframe looking at regrets. The guilt we feel about something we wish we didn't do will keep us from living our best lives in the present moment. So let's reframe REGRET to help you heal from your past pains and begin living more within peace and joy for your life. REGRET stands for Realizing Every Goodbye Resolves Eventually over Time. Now I used the word “over” in front of time, so I hope you can forgive me for putting in the connecting word to help the phrase make more sense. What I want to remind you and myself of when we say this acronym, is that all those bad things we've been holding onto…we're saying goodbye to them. All those things that we're upset about, all those pains that are hurting us in the moment and all the guilts we may feel will resolve themselves out over time. And it's not because we never think about our mistakes ever again, almost certainly to repeat them since we didn't learn. But it's that we've become more aware by saying the REGRET acronym when we are feeling regret. We say the acronym to awaken us to better ways of healing and learning from our mistakes. The human will is a formidable force and when we keep moving forward knowing that every mistake is a lesson, and that every regret isn't a goodbye to something bad, but a hello to something beautiful over time. Then we are eternally growing. So think about it like this, you realize that your disappointments have guided you to better decisions…well hopefully. Some people choose never to learn, but we may have to go through disappointment after disappointment to finally engrain in our brain that this way isn't working. And the more in tune we become with our intuition, then the more we will hear those little voices in our head, and those subtle cues in our body, warning us something isn't right. I was working with a life coaching student of mine, and at the end of our session I asked what we wanted to focus on for the next week, and she said…”I want to pay more attention to those little voices in my head that are telling me what I need to do at the moment.” She was burned out in her life and those voices would tell her what her mind and body needed. It was saying “take a nap, you haven't eaten yet; you need to get something in your stomach,” or it might say “if you only spend a few minutes on organizing you won't be so overwhelmed.” She said that those small voices were the ones that when she listened to them, they always brought her to a place of balance. It was the good voice within telling her what she needed. And we do that a lot in our lives, we drown out that intuiton, and we listen to the more destructive voice inside. Or we drown out all the voices and just do whatever we feel NEEDS to be done by forcing things because we have so much left to do. So we try to cram it all in, and as fast as we can into one day. Maybe if we listened a little more to our intuition guiding us…we might have less regrets. But if we can remember that a regret is Realizing Every Goodbye Resolves Eventually over Time, it will be a pathway to opens doors. They say that for every door that closes in your life another will open. And it's a nice sentiment to say, but when you are in the thick of things it can be easy to let anxiety grip you. And I could wave my magic wand and tell you I have the answer for everyone, but that would be a lie. I think it comes down to a multitude of things, but maybe it's about finding something to place your attention on when going through hell. Maybe it's the smile of a loved one, or the remembrance of a good conversation with a great friend, or maybe it's the calm knowing that your creator has something more in store for you. Maybe it's a past triumph and you remember how great your body felt after that success. So let us find a higher truth and know that the mistakes in your life weren't meant to destroy, but to build you up and bring something better to you. I may not be able to look into a crystal ball to tell your fortune, but I think I can tell you your future right now. You have a great one ahead of you. There will bumps and bruises, but each one will be worth it as you get to know the amazing you. So when going through your personal hells, remember to say the acronym REGRET out loud or in your mind, and focus on a past success or something you love. Because when it feels like that's all you can hold onto…I think it will be enough. And if you are going to regret anything, regret being regretful…ok that was stupid. Next. Today's Personal Commitment: Practice saying the acronym REGRET to yourself and see how it sounds. Maybe you might have a better acronym for going through a tough time in your life. SO see if you can create an acronym that will help you remember a better way. And if you create a cool one I'd love to hear it and share it with the Strong Within One Percenters crew…that's that I call you guys, my audience, if you didn't know that. We continue to look at what 'revival' is, and what it could look like in our lives, our relationships, and our church. This week in Nehemiah 10 we will look at how revival leads to recommitment.

– Kamal RavikantKamal Ravikant is a venture capitalist and author of best-selling books such as Love Yourself Like your Life Depends on It, Live Your Truth and Rebirth: A Fable of Love, Forgiveness and Following Your Heart. Everything in life is just talk until we make a personal commitment to actually DO it. So often, the difference between people God uses greatly and people He doesn’t use comes down to which person is fully committed to Him. Is there an area of your life that you have been hesitant to commit the […]
