Is time running out for Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro? Christiane asks Colombia's former president Ivan Duque why he supports Trump's aggressive stance against the country next door. And while the U.S. president has his eye on Latin America, the White House is snubbing Europe again, opting not to send Secretary of State Marco Rubio to a NATO foreign minister meeting. Julianne Smith, former US Ambassador to NATO, speaks to Christiane about transatlantic tension, and those marathon peace talks between Trump's team and Putin that appeared to produce nothing.  Plus, Oedipus on Broadway! Christiane speaks to stars Lesley Manville and Mark Strong about modernizing the 2,5000-year-old Greek tragedy, and playing a mother and son in love. Microsoft has announced a price increase for its Office productivity software subscriptions, set to take effect on July 1, 2026. The Microsoft 365 Business Basic subscription will rise from $6 to $7 per user per month, while the Business Standard subscription will increase from $12.50 to $14. Additionally, the Microsoft 365 E3 enterprise subscription will see a 13% hike from $23 to $26. This adjustment follows a period of infrequent price changes since the launch of Office 365 in 2011 and reflects Microsoft's significant investment in its platform, which has introduced over 1,100 new features in the past year. Managed Service Providers (MSPs) should prepare for customer pushback regarding these increases, as clients may direct their frustrations toward their service providers rather than Microsoft. In related developments, several companies have announced product updates aimed at simplifying user experiences. Nerdio has enhanced its enterprise platform to support Azure Virtual Desktop in hybrid environments, while Coro has released version 3.7 of its cybersecurity platform, which features a redesigned interface for improved management. Comcast Business has also upgraded its internet services for small businesses, offering faster speeds and enhanced reliability. These updates indicate a broader trend toward simplifying technology solutions, but they also introduce new governance risks that MSPs must address. The episode also highlights a shift in educational trends, with an increasing number of college students opting for artificial intelligence majors over traditional computer science degrees. This change is driven by concerns over job market prospects for computer science graduates. As universities adapt their curricula to meet the demand for AI skills, MSPs may face challenges in finding candidates who possess the necessary infrastructure knowledge to support business operations effectively. For MSPs and IT service leaders, these developments underscore the importance of proactive communication with clients regarding price changes and the value of technology investments. As tools become more automated and user-friendly, the need for robust governance and security measures becomes paramount. MSPs should focus on ensuring that their clients understand the implications of these changes and the necessity of maintaining foundational IT practices, particularly as the talent pipeline shifts toward AI-focused education. Four Things to Know Today:00:00 Microsoft's 2026 M365 Price Hike Highlights Its Market Power—and Forces MSPs to Reframe Value With Customers03:14 Automation and Simplified Dashboards Dominate New Releases, but Experts Say MSPs Still Shoulder the Governance Burden06:54 AI Majors Surge as Computer Science Enrollment Falls, Reshaping the Tech Talent Pipeline08:55 MCP's Rapid Adoption Outpaces Governance, Creating Opportunity—and Risk—for MSPs Managing AI Integration Sponsored by: https://scalepad.com/dave/https://getflexpoint.com/msp-radio/

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has been under fire for his continually evolving explanations and blame-shifting regarding a September attack on an alleged “drug boat” in the Caribbean. Following a report from the Washington Post, the Associated Press found that the Pentagon was indeed aware that there were two survivors after the initial attack on the boat — and still carried out a follow-up strike. At the same time, the Trump administration has gone from denying a second strike ever happened to blaming the second strike on an admiral. Pressure on the Pentagon is building and Nevada Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen is among the many members of Congress calling for Hegseth to resign. We spoke with Senator Rosen about Hegseth's failures and what she thinks needs to happen to protect America's service members. And in headlines, President Donald Trump pardons a Democratic congressman indicted on white collar crimes, Republican infighting escalates in the House, and ICE targets Somali immigrants in Minneapolis.Show Notes:Call Congress – 202-224-3121Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcastFollow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Add consequence: Games with "must-complete" tasks (e.g., 3 fairways in a row) simulate tournament feels. Quality beats quantity: Short, intense, focused sessions > marathon ball-beating. Protect cognitive energy: Strong routines reduce decision fatigue and steady your state under stress. Reframe the story: Emotions come from interpretation; catch absolutes ("always/never") and replace them with rational truth. Calibrate emotion: Even "negative" emotions can be adaptive when properly dialed. Detach from score: Commit to the shot in front of you; outcome improves as a byproduct. Key Quotes: "Make practice look like the golf course, not the course look like practice." "Consequence is the fastest way to simulate pressure." "The hard, uncomfortable reps are where skill is actually built." "Pick a target, visualize, commit—that's the billboard I'd put on every tee." "It's not the first tee that makes you anxious; it's the story you tell yourself about it." "Process is part of outcome—not something separate from it." "There's a skill-development lag: keep going through it instead of restarting with a new method." Send us a textIn this episode, I chat with Bruce Holsinger about stories, community, publishing, teaching, and the craft behind his latest novel, Culpability. Bruce brings a rare lens to contemporary fiction. As a medievalist at the University of Virginia, he teaches medieval literature and applies his enthusiasm to craft classes where the basics—point of view, character arcs, structure—become living tools. He explains why paratext—chat logs, interviews, and excerpts from Lorelei's AI book—lets a novel breathe beyond exposition, capturing how we really encounter the world: through fragmented feeds, competing voices, and the uneasy mix of intimacy and spectacle. Culpability Synopsis:When the Cassidy-Shaws' autonomous minivan collides with an oncoming car, seventeen-year-old Charlie is in the driver's seat, with his father, Noah, riding shotgun. In the back seat, tweens Alice and Izzy are on their phones, while their mother, Lorelei, a world leader in the field of artificial intelligence, is absorbed in her work. Yet each family member harbors a secret that implicates them in the accident.During a weeklong recuperation on the Chesapeake Bay, the family confronts the excruciating moral dilemmas triggered by the crash. Noah tries to hold the family together as a seemingly routine police investigation jeopardizes Charlie's future. Alice and Izzy turn strangely furtive. And Lorelei's odd behavior tugs at Noah's suspicions that there is a darker truth behind the incident—suspicions heightened by the sudden intrusion of Daniel Monet, a tech mogul whose mysterious history with Lorelei hints at betrayal. When Charlie falls for Monet's teenage daughter, the stakes are raised even higher in this propulsive family drama that is also a fascinating exploration of the moral responsibility and ethical consequences of AI.Culpability explores a world newly shaped by chatbots, autonomous cars, drones, and other nonhuman forces in ways that are thrilling, challenging, and unimaginably provocative.Subscribe, share with a reader friend, and tell us: which moment changed how you see the story?Culpability, Bruce HolsingerBruce HolsingerBruce Holsinger Episode #163 The Bookshop PodcastSupport the showThe Bookshop PodcastMandy Jackson-BeverlySocial Media Links
