La aleación, el arte de mezclar metales con otros elementos, ha sido durante mucho tiempo una piedra angular de la ciencia de los materiales y la metalurgia. YoutubeFacebookXInstagramBioNORTHERN KENTUCKY – Orchid in the Ivy, the hard-hitting alternative rock triofronted by Brett Scharf, is turning heads with the re-release of their fiery, pop-punkrendition of “Beds Are Burning.” Originally recorded some time ago, the band recentlyremixed and relaunched the track to pave the way for their upcoming five-songEP—proving that rock is far from dead and Scharf's creative fire is still blazing.“We did a new mix,” says Scharf of the Midnight Oil classic. “We kinda did it a whileago, and we basically did a whole remix... people will maybe recognize it a little bit andthen kinda get your feet wet again with it—and then go with the five song EP after that.”The result? A faster, sharper, and more aggressive version of the politically chargedanthem—reborn through Orchid in the Ivy's melodic punk-rock lens. “I always thought ithad a great groove to it,” Scharf explains. “I was messing around with it one day andjust thought, ‘God, if we sped this up, this would be more like almost a punk rock tune.' Idon't think they realized how kind of heavy and punk rock that song could actually be.”For Scharf, who once toured alongside now-household names like Fall Out Boy andMotion City Soundtrack in his early band Spindle, Orchid in the Ivy represents a rebirth.After years of navigating the ups and downs of multiple projects, including RosemaryDevice, Scharf stepped into the role of lead singer “more out of necessity than anythingelse.” That unplanned shift uncovered a sound—and voice—that finally felt right.“I put some vocals down on a couple songs and asked my drummer what he thought.He liked it, and we just kept going forward that way,” says Scharf.Since forming in 2013, Orchid in the Ivy has remained fiercely self-sufficient. The bandrecords everything at Scharf's own studio, allowing them the space to experiment andevolve. “We were trying to really find out our sound,” Scharf says. “I think in the last fiveor six years, we really found our voice.”That voice blends the emotional punch of Brand New's The Devil and God Are RagingInside Me with the melodic grit of Alkaline Trio's Crimson and the urgency of RiseAgainst. The upcoming EP, while not including “Beds Are Burning,” follows hot on itsheels, with singles set to roll out every six to eight weeks.“There's a little more emotion involved in this one,” Scharf notes of the new material.“The stuff I've been writing for this EP—and even the next one—is just a little morepersonal. With everything going on in the world, it just seems like a chaotic time.”Though Scharf's journey has spanned decades and many stages, his passion hasnever faded. “The older I got, the better the writing got,” he says. “There's always beenthat inspiration of finding new music, being creative. El escritor Miguel Ángel Bargueño ha visitado el informativo 24 horas de RNE para hablar de su nuevo libro 'Carlos Marín. El Divo', una biografía sobre el exitoso barítono del grupo Il divo, el cuarteto de ópera que le alzó a la fama. "Me da la sensación de que en España era donde menos se le conocía", añade que "a raíz de su fallecimiento, empezamos a darnos cuenta del del portento que habíamos tenido, de la resonancia global de su voz" y opina que "merecía la pena que le conociéramos un poco más".Carlos Marín despuntó en la música a una temprana edad, su inspiración, el cantante de ópera mexicano 'El Caruso'. Con solo 6 años ya tenía claro lo que quería en su vida: "En el libro se muestra la personalidad genuina de un chico que desde muy pequeñito supo que ya sabía cantar muy bien, que tenía un don, que eso hacía feliz a la gente", afirma. Un prominente artista de ópera, zarzuelas musicales, con más de 30 millones de discos en todo el mundo, "fue muy rompedor porque era una cosa muy novedosa en la música". Bargueño cuenta que la inmensa mayoría de las canciones de Il Divo las cantaban en castellano: "Él se aseguraba de que la pronunciación de sus compañeros era la correcta", cuenta. Tenía personalidad de un divo, "pero no en el sentido de una arrogancia limitada", el escritor apunta que dentro del grupo, era el más cercano. No todas las asociaciones de jueces y fiscales apoyan la huelga convocada para los días 1, 2 y 3 de julio contra las reformas del Gobierno sobre el acceso a ambas carreras y la Fiscalía, pese al CGPJ. Edmundo Rodríguez Achútegui, portavoz del Secretariado de Juezas y Jueces para la Democracia, ha mostrado su rechazo en el informativo 24 horas de RNE. "No es justificable que se pretenda presentar como causa de una huelga que un proyecto de ley, que ni siquiera se ha aprobado, va a comprometer la independencia judicial, cuando estamos seguros de que eso no es así", ha dicho Rodríguez. Ha admitido que el proyecto de ley necesita mejoras, pero ha insistido en que "lo que pretende la ley es incorporar un procedimiento de selección que ya existía hasta el 2003: que además de una prueba teoría se haga una práctica" y que es algo que ve "razonable y que permitirá que la selección sea mejor."Escuchar audio

En el informativo del '24 Horas de RNE', hablamos con Luis Ortiz Vigil, miembro del Comité Nacional de la Asociación Judicial Francisco de Vitoria (AJFV), sobre la huelga convocada por las asociaciones de jueces y fiscales, excepto las progresistas, para los días 1, 2 y 3 de julio, en protesta por las reformas del Gobierno sobre el acceso a ambas carreras y a la Fiscalía. Respecto a la convocatoria de la huelga, desde el AJFV aseguran que se fijarán los servicios mínimos según el comité de huelga, porque, según aclara Ortiz, "somos responsables y sabemos que en un conflicto colectivo tiene que haberlos". Si hay un responsable de todo lo que ocurre en esta movilización, es el Ministerio de Justicia, que, según el entrevistado, "la pelota está en su tejado".
