She wants to be VP of Operations. Her mom is like nah. You don't have what it takes. You're not tough enough. Plus, she spends money on custom ornaments. That's not what executives do. Cassidy says well how about I go assess a property and show you I have what it takes to make big decisions. Of course, that property happens to be a certain ski lodge. Trey's father-in-law, Sam, who Trey runs the lodge with, tells him that he's ready to retire and he thinks they should consider selling to a dude named Asherton. Trey isn't having it. He's not ready to give up on this place. Cassidy shows up and checks in and is immediately charmed by Trey's daughter, Lilly. Speaking of Trey, the lights flicker and he ends up bumping into Cassidy, spilling her hot chocolate all over the floor. Talk about a meet cute! It doesn't take Cassidy long to realize that this place is struggling. The snowmobiles aren't working. And to make matters worse, the power goes out. And we're only a few days from Christmas Fest! Trey realizes who Cassidy is and is quickly annoyed by how much she pipes in with her thoughts and opinions. She overhears him talking to Sam about how he doesn't want to sell. She says I want to help you save your lodge by making Christmas Fest bigger and better than ever and maybe get it into some new technology in the process. She starts opening up to him about how she feels like her mom doesn't really believe in her. And he opens up to her about the loss of his wife. She tells him that if he does need to sell, he could also work into the deal that he needs to stay on and keep the staff. They go out tubing together and when they get back to the lodge, she's shocked to see that her mom showed up. Clearly she doesn't trust her to do this on her own! Her mom hears about what she's doing and tells her if you're banking on Christmas Fest saving the day, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Turns out, her mom actually went to the lodge as a kid, every year for 10 years. That explains why she and Sam were flirty flirty the night before. After dancing to some music on his tape player the night before she's supposed to leave, they end up ALMOSTTTT kissing, but are interrupted by his daughter. They go to a Christmas lantern event and almost kiss again. They say their goodbyes and it's very sweet but she ends up missing her flight! So she gets to stay a little longer which gives her this idea - Evergreen should buy the lodge. She knows that this Asherton guy is a bad guy. Before she can talk to them, Asherton shows up and is like the mountain is mine baby! Cassidy runs in and is like no it's not, cuz we just bought it! Trey does not take any of this well. She goes after him and is like I know it looks like I went behind your back but I promise we just wanted to save the lodge. But Trey isn't having it and storms off, saying she obviously only cares about trying to get a promotion. She needs to find him to talk to him but he's on the slopes. So she has to conquer her fear of skiing and find him. She crashes into him and they laugh. She pitches what their plan really is which honestly sounds like a really bad business plan for the Evergreen family. The deal is a go! And Cassidy is going to stay!!! And they end up kisssingggggg! Hosted by Fiona Scott, today's podcast welcomes Arthur Dallimer, who Fiona met a few years ago. Arthur is an extremely experienced property developer local to the Swindon area. He's been doing property for 12 years and contacted Fiona to learn about PR and how to develop his business. He's Swindon born and bred; he knows the people and has a great love for Swindon. Arthur shares his opinions about Swindon as a town, and he wants to encourage people in the community to embrace change. Fiona begins by asking Arthur about property and he shares that when he was 17 years old a property went up for auction in the local village where he was raised. He knew the house, he knew it had been burnt down many years ago and ended up in auction because the man who owned it had passed on. He goes on to state that because he knows the house and the road so well that he felt a great connection to the property and wanted to save it. Arthur says he was lucky enough to have inherited £50,000 so he bought it and decided to renovate it. He estimates that he made around £70,000 from his first project. Arthur says he learned a business brain from a young age. Fiona then asked Arthur how he knew he had a ‘business brain' and where he learned this from. Arthur shares that at 9 and 10 Arthur began selling chicken eggs at school with a friend of his. He said he became engaged in trying to solve problems and create solutions. He also went to a business school over the summer where he learned a lot about money. He also shares that he's always had a dream of being able to make money so that has been a motivator over the years.Fiona asks Arthur where his attitude towards money comes from. Arthur replies that it's deep from his upbringing and he felt a lot of responsibility to help with his autistic older brother. He also shares that support doesn't come without a price and he wants to give his family the best life possible. Fiona also goes on to ask Arthur what he likes and enjoys in life. Arthur states that he soon realised material goods such as clothes and accessories didn't bring him much satisfaction. He wants to do something to support a better lifestyle and to see the world. He shares that he loves going on holiday and wants to experience as much of the world as he can.Fiona then asks him about uni, studying, making money and property. Arthur says he went to university and studied accounting and finance. His mother instilled a need in him to drive for the best and although he says he doesn't use his degree on a daily basis, he feels he's learned a lot from it and the university experience. Arthur recounts that when he was a student, he would complete his lectures and coursework and then come home at the weekends to work on the houses. He says he worked around 100 hour weeks, including his part time job, but it was something he loved doing and so he felt it was worth it. He says ‘not to worry, I did still have fun at uni and party! But I also wanted to make money.'Arthur shares that he became a millionaire at the age of about 23. He says he uses his accountancy degree to use the knowledge to his advantage. But collecting assets was more his interest and this is where his business grew. He says he sells property for commercial purposes and also for residential purposes. When Arthur hyper focuses on something and he wants to get it and find a challenge, he homes in on how to get a project completed. Arthur shares that he enjoys the social side of it and wants to benefit the people of Swindon. He said when he bought ‘Apsley House' from the council he really made sure that he was the only option for the council. Arthur wanted Fiona's support to help navigate the negative connotations that come with developers and people wanting change for the town. Arthur and Fiona discuss the difference between embracing and inflicting change on a community. Some people can be very reluctant to this, but Arthur feels embracing change is really important. Fiona asks Arthur what is going to be happening with Apsley house in 2026. Arthur says they've signed up commercial tenants for a bakery, a restaurant and a coworking tenant who is already signed. He says they are moving onto the construction phase where they'll get people in to look at the cladding, the windows and ‘the fancy bits.'He says his side of the development ends in July when the commercial tenants can come in and set things up. The tenants and the operators will probably be setting this up throughout September and October where they will then launch the project in time for Christmas. Fiona then goes on to ask Arthur to share why he has chosen to live in a manor house which he bought. Arthur says he bought Burderop House because it was a house he saw daily on his route to school and that he never in a million years thought he'd be able to buy it, but with luck and determination he made the dream a reality. Arthur says that he had a private opening for people to attend, in which he thought about thirty people would come and it was more around the 300 mark. Fiona goes on to ask about what work he's done to the property. Arthur says the house is 27,000 sq. ft. Compared to a standard 1400 sq ft it is a real difference. It was a stately home without buildings which he's renting and renovating to make into a liveable space. Arthur shares that for a long time he's been an advocate that for a place to develop you must provide a very enriched cultural offering. He's trying to encourage people to bid for the cultural capital of the UK for 2029, because it opens so much funding for the area and opportunity.   Arthur makes it clear that he feels his space really should be open and enjoyed by others. He wants it to be a place to experience new things and to be part of something positive for the town. Fiona asks Arthur how he manages conflict with others who don't want the space to be enjoyed by others. Arthur says ‘naturally you have the worry and anxiety around what might happen. Jonathan Healey, The Blazing World: A New History of Revolutionary England, 1603–1689. In 1649, Charles I was tried and executed in public, a shocking event that horrified European monarchs. The segment explores the establishment of the Protectorate under Oliver Cromwell as Lord Protector. John Lambert drafted the Instrument of Government, England's first written constitution, which included checks and balances and religious protections for Protestants. Although Cromwell refused the crown, his rule relied on military strength and the imposition of Puritan values, such as banning Christmas celebrations. Upon Cromwell's death in 1658, his son Richard failed to maintain control, leading the nation back into political chaos. (6)2650

Jameson Doud was nearing his 8th birthday in August of 2024 when he was diagnosed with a Midline High Grade Glioma Pediatric Brain Cancer. In March of 2025 the Doud family got very good news that there were no signs of any cancer from the most recent scans but just a couple of months later, Jameson's scans showed that his cancer had spread to his bone and Jameson was not expected to last until Christmas of 2025. That expectation went too far unfortunately and James on passed away from this disease on August 12th of 2025.

Who then is like me?” Isaiah 44: 6-7 The Bible Stands Alone In Old Testament times, God gave his people a visible reminder of his presence called the Ark of the Covenant. There was a time when the Ark of the Covenant was captured by the Philistines who had defeated Israel in battle and claimed the ark as their prize. Since they already believed in many gods, why not add the God of Israel as well? So, they placed the ark in the temple of their god, Dagon. The next morning, when they went to worship Dagon, there he lay, facedown before the ark of the Lord! So, Dagon was put back in his place. The next morning, it was the same result—Dagon facedown before the ark of the Lord, but this time his head and hands had broken off. Message received! The ark needed to go back to Israel because Dagon could not handle being in the presence of the Lord. (1 Samuel 5) God has placed in our hearts an awareness that there is a God and a desire to know that God. Throughout the course of human history, different gods and goddesses, spirits, and mystical powers have been proclaimed as gods. But “who then is like me?” asks the Lord. The best that the false worshippers could hope for is that their gods and goddesses would send rain and grow their fields and grow their families and flocks. If they gave the right sacrifices, perhaps those gods would listen. The Lord God stands alone. He does something that sinful minds couldn’t have even imagined. He came to us, wearing our flesh and blood. He redeemed us, taking our sinful failures upon himself. He loves us, promising his presence with us through life and preparing a place in eternity with him when this life comes to its close. Truly, the God of the Bible stands alone. Checking that list twice. Looking at a globe to see if anything's changed. You know the stuff. We meet Grandpa Nicolas decorating his house for the first Christmas since his wife passed away. His daughter Cassie shows up with her husband James and son Terence and they all start to decorate the tree. Little Terence pulls out a Santa ornament. Grandpa insists there's one more ornament in there that goes with Santa. Sure enough, there is one more ornament of some random dude. Terence is like who is this? Grandpa Nicolas is like well have I got a story for you. Before Santa was Santa, he was Saint Nicolas, a Christian Bishop and Patron Saint of Children who would travel around, giving presents to children. One day he is arrested by the Spanish government who suspect he is actually a spy and their concerns only grow when they discover that he carries around a book called The Book of Life that has a ton of names in it and stuff about each of those people. Gotta be honest...sounds like a spy. While in jail, he meets a guy named Peter who is shocked when this old dude knows his name and knows that he wants to travel the world. When Pete finds out that he's St. Nicolas, they spend the night talking, and Pete decides to bust St. Nick out. They become partners and years later they decide to head to the New World. Before they leave they are approached by a dude who wants them to find someone named Elizabeth Van Olden to give her an engagement ring and a promise to join her as soon as he can. Santa and Pete are shocked to find out that the New World is not the perfect paradise they had heard about. People are too busy to celebrate Christmas and there's hostility between the settlers and the Native Americans. There's no open lodging for the famous Santa and Pete, so they're forced to sleep in a barn for the night where they find a little girl named Marlene. She tells them that she lost her parents while they were building a cabin in the woods. Santa promises that they'll find her parents and Pete is like whoa that's a big promise. Santa and Pete meet with the governor to ask for help finding Marlene's parents. He tells them that the Native Americans took them and he's planning an attack. So that's not great. On Christmas Eve, they travel by carriage and reindeer to go visit the Dangola family, including Janet who Pete thinks is FINEEEEE. On the way back, they are stopped by the Native Americans. They say they've been waiting for the man with the white beard to fulfill the prophecy. Santa requests they return Marlene's parents and they give Santa a bright red coat. Santa and Pete begin delivering presents and find that the village boot boy has made Nick some black leather boots. Arriving at the governor's house they realize there are no traditional wooden clogs to put gifts in and end up going down the chimney and leaving gifts in stockings instead. They also meet the governor's maid, who turns out to be Elizabeth Van Olden, and after giving her the engagement ring she gives Nick a bright red hat. Returning to the Dangola house, the Native Americans appear with Marlene's parents. The snow starts to come down super heavy and they're now unable to navigate the snow in their carriage. Maria's husband, Big Manuel, replaces the wheels with runners, transforming it into a sleigh, now with 6 reindeer. As Santa and Pete leave, the sleigh suddenly lifts into the sky and they fly away into the night. Back in the present, Terence wakes up in the middle of the night and finds that the Book of Life is in the living room. He finds his name inside and finds out that he is related to Pete. But when he tries to tell Grandpa Nicolas, the book disappears and he cannot remember anything he read. Classic Santa. The first two little pigs hastily built houses with cheap, weak materials. The Big Bad Wolf easily blew them down. The third little pig was different. He used the better, more costly materials. He invested the right amount of time and effort to build a strong house. “And he huffed, and he puffed, but he could not blow that house down!” “Be careful how you build!” That’s advice from a messenger of Jesus named Paul. It was first written some 2,000 years ago. But that advice is meant for us today, too. Careful construction and high-quality materials will provide comfort, peace of mind, and a good return on investment for our physical dwellings. But Paul had something different in mind when he wrote these words. Be careful how you build…your spiritual house! Where does one even start when trying to follow Paul’s advice? So many convenient and compelling options. So many building materials and blueprints. Let’s start where he did. Paul, the expert builder, laid a solid foundation—the good news message of Jesus Christ. Jesus laid down his life as payment for the sins of the whole world and rose from the dead in victory. Paul and others continued to build on that firm foundation by speaking and teaching the words and promises of Jesus. Those words don’t always make sense to us and don't promise a life of ease and success. But they do give great comfort when we struggle with the guilt of sin— “Take heart, your sins are forgiven.” They do give us peace of mind when confronting the reality of death— “You will be with me in paradise.” Carefully build your spiritual house on Jesus, and yours is a house that will last. She takes a bunch of interviews with anything she can think of - podcasting, influencer liaison, things she's not passionate about. It's not going great. Sam calls her and he's experiencing the same thing. She invites him over to her parents' house for dinner and to just hang. He tries some cookies and is blown away. Apparently they have a family recipe box that gets passed down from generation to generation with all of the family recipes. He has an idea - an online channel where Daria makes her way through all of the holiday recipes in the box. So they go live for the first day and make cookies and IT'S A HIT! For day 2, Sam comes out from behind the camera and the crowd goes wild. They love the chemistry between Daria and Sam. As they go on, all anyone really cares about is shipping Sam and Daria. But then Sam gets an offer to be head camera operator. He tells Daria and she's like you have to do this. Sam is like but there's still 7 recipes left. Daria says she wants him to go and then shakes his hand. Everyone is mad that he's gone and the BBQ guy is like WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL HIM TO STAY?!?! HE LOVES YOUUUUU. For the final live stream bake, she gets all up in her feels thinking about Sam. To cheer herself up, she takes the show on the road to do the final bake at her mom's house. For any age group that can read from 10 to 100 About the author Bruce Spohn was born March 5th, 1947 in Lancaster, CA near Los Angeles. His parents moved north to the Bay Area and he attended K – 12 in several schools in different cities around the Bay. This laid the foundation of his outlook on life. After graduating from Clayton Valley High School in Concord California he joined the U. S. Air force. After basic training in Lackland AFB in San Antonio TX, he was sent to Germany in Oct 1965. Life in Europe appealed to him and he stayed in Germany for 40 years and finally returned to the United States in Feb 2006. Luckily, he was sent back to San Antonio TX where he works for the Government at Fort Sam Houston. Bruce started writing when he was still in high school but never published. In Nov 1999 he was involved in a near-fatal car accident and woke up in the ICU a few days before Christmas. He felt inspired to write a story to send to his friends as a special Christmas gift. His love of writing has spurred him on the expand his story tellin to include romance/drama. “Lovers by the Lake is a romance between two “Baby Boomers” and how their lives were shaped by the events of the time. Bruce is now working on a series. “Dark Dig” and “Convalited Conswcidences” are the first in that series.

[School of Everything Else 2026] This is a commissioned show for AJ. We recorded it several months ago, but banked it until the long-awaited release of Christopher Nolan's Odyssey. It is an independent, serialised concept musical, released across nine digital EPs from December 2022 through to December 2024 by Jorge Rivera-Herrans (who also plays Odysseus, amongst others). And this took a certain portion of the Internet by storm, garnering fan projects to animate each of the songs, all of which you can find assembled here in one 2h 22m work of collaborative passion made on one iota the budget of Nolan's IMAX titan. Willow showed this to us on Christmas day and the music and handling of the many characters really stuck with us. This is the most excited I've been about a musical since Hamilton and the original Moana. Statistically, almost none of you have heard this, so we specifically crafted this show to introduce what Jorge and company achieved here and hopefully get a bunch of new people with these catchy-ass songs bouncing round their heads.
