The Sound Chaser Progressive Rock Podcast is on the air. The show this time is the second edition of the broadcast releases special. The first was way back in November, 2016. It is time to do it again with a new batch of previously broadcast goodies. Every piece of music on this show was originally broadcast on radio or television, and then subsequently released on cd or video. Because there were two major outlets for such broadcasts, the BBC in the UK and The King Biscuit Flower Hour syndicated broadcast in the US, those will be the major sources for the music here. However, the show does feature broadcasts from other sources including an internet only source. Most, but not all, of the music here is performed live. I wrote this with a younger version of myself in mind. Over four sections, “Mindset,” “In Rehearsal,” “In Concert,” and “Building A Career,” I offer the advice I wish I had listened to when I was first starting out. A Video Extra:Whenever our old friend Paul Martin is back in the room — or, better still, on the bandstand with us, as he was for our big “Flood at 50” birthday bash on New Year's Eve — we always get him to take us on a ride on his favorite Bob Dylan tune. Here from that wonderful New Year's night at Alchemy Theatre is Paul leading the way on “You Ain't Going Nowhere,” which we have considered our Floodster emeritus's signature song ever since he joined the Family Flood in 2015.About the SongBob Dylan wrote “You Ain't Goin' Nowhere” in 1967 in Woodstock, NY, during his self-imposed exile from public appearances following his July 29, 1966, motorcycle accident. He recorded it with The Band in the famous “Basement Tapes” sessions.Between June and October 1967, Dylan's writing and recording sessions with The Band in the basement of their Woodstock house, which they called Big Pink,” were the source of many new songs, including "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere” well as another of our favorites, “Down in the Flood.”The ByrdsBut actually the first time many of us heard “You Ain'y Goin' Nowhere” was not from Bob but rather from a single released by The Byrds on April 2, 1968, which would be the lead track on the band's famous country-rock album, Sweetheart of the Rodeo.Although not as famous as the group's 1965 cover version of “Mr. Tambourine Man,” The Byrds' recording of "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere" is considered by many to be the band's best Dylan cover ever. In fact, the song became a staple of The Byrds' live concert repertoire all the way up until their last appearances in 1973.Joan Baez included a gender-switched version of the song (Tomorrow's the day my man's gonna come) on her 1968 Any Day Now album. The tune also has been covered by Earl Scruggs, Maria Muldaur, Old Crow Medicine Show, Phish, Counting Crows and many other. And these days the song is one of about two dozen Dylan compositions that make up the wonderful Girl from the North Country musical that currently is touring the country.More Floodishness“You Ain't Goin' Nowhere” also is featured on The Flood's Live, In Concert album, which you can spin for free on our Radio Floodango music streaming service.Click here to check it out.More Song Stories?By the way, some readers tells us their favorite part of Flood Watch is these regular pieces on the history of the songs the band plays. When we go slippin' and a-slidin' into Sal's Speakeasy in Ashland tomorrow night for our latest gig, we'll bring with us one of our all-time favorite party tunes. The song that we call “You Got Me Slippin'” is loosely based on a classic Jimmy Reed piece from 65 years ago at the very dawn of rock 'n' roll. And to further Floodify the fun, we also inject a few old Bob Dylan verses right in the middle of it just for glee (a shout-out to your grandpa's sword, pictures on a board and fistfights with the milkman… you know, the usual stuff….)The Jimmy Reed OriginalInspiration for it all, as we say, is a blues that Jimmy Reed recorded in 1959. Vee-Jay Records released it as “Baby What You Want Me to Do,” but honestly, everybody we knew back then called it "You Got Me Runnin'" because of its opening lines (You've got me runnin' / You've got me hidin' / You've got me run, hide, hide, run…)It was a chart hit for Reed and, as with many of his songs, it appealed to listeners across various genres, with numerous subsequent covers by other artists. While Reed himself received the sole songwriting credit for the number, blues historian Gerard Herzhaft notes, “Like almost all of Reed's pieces and whatever the official credits are, it is an original composition by his wife, (Mary) Mama Reed."Covers and TributesThe song continues to be performed and recorded — notably by Etta James and by Elvis Presley — making it perhaps the most covered of all of Reed's tunes, spawning versions by blues, R&B and rock artists.Flood fans might remember that our own version — complete with the addition of those Bob Dylan lyrics from his 1965 “On the Road Again” — is the opening track on our 2016 Live, In Concert album.Incidentally, our Dylan insertion was a bit prescient. While Bob himself has never recorded a Reed song as far as we know, he did pay tribute to the blues great with the song “Goodbye Jimmy Reed” on the 2020 Dylan album, Rough and Rowdy Ways. (And by the way, last month we got to hear Dylan sing that one in person when he rolled into downtown Huntington to appear live at the Keith-Albee theater.)So, Do We Have a Date?Remember, this Saturday night The Flood will be bringing our take on the Reed song — and a whole lot more — to Sal's Speakeasy, 1624 Carter Avenue in beautiful downtown Ashland, Ky. We play from 6 to 9. Call ahead to save a table near the bandstand, then come on down and party with us.And speaking of dates, hope you're also making plans to join us at Huntington's Alchemy Theatre this New Year's Eve for our big “Flood at 50” birthday bash. All the details are on the new website, FloodAt50.com. And if you're on Facebook, “like” the page there at www.facebook.com/the.flood.at.fifty That'll keep you up to date on the latest details. Phil Ochs, perhaps more than anybody else in the 1960s Greenwich Village folk scene, believed that he could end the Vietnam War and change the world through his music. He offered deeply critical insight both of mainstream society and of the folk scene itself, calling out hypocrisy where he saw it and asking his listeners to consider questions and issues without easy solutions. He did this through a combination of exceptional songwriting gifts and a blazing intensity, but this intensity also limited his ability to appeal to a wide audience, and he largely faded into obscurity after his untimely 1976 death. In this episode, John leads a discussion on the 1966 live(ish) album In Concert, which he has loved for nearly 20 years, and the tenor of the discussion ranges from serious to silly in a way that mirrors the album itself. Join John, Ben, Phil, and Amanda as they cover an essential album from one of the most complicated figures ever to pick up an acoustic guitar and declare his truth.Cohosts: John McFerrin, Ben Marlin, Phil Maddox, Amanda RodgersComplete show notes: https://discordpod.com/listen/117-phil-ochs-in-concert-1966Merch store: https://www.teepublic.com/user/discordpodSupport the podcast! https://www.patreon.com/discordpod

ALVIN TAYLOR Legendary Drummer, Musical Director, Producer Alvin has been a lover of drums since the age of five, and his professional career began at the age of fourteen, when he was discovered by, and toured with Little Richard. His most amazing experience came when he was invited to London by George Harrison (of the Beatles) to both live in his castle and to record the “33 1/3” album … and that album went platinum. Further evidence of Alvin's unique talent is his on-going list of credits and tours with other legendary artists such as: Elton John, Tina Turner, Bob Dylan, Bob Welch, Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, Gil Scott Heron, Diana Ross, Barry White, Sly Stone, Leo Sayer, Bill Withers, Andre' Crouch, Ronnie Woods, who is the guitarist with the Rolling Stones, and so many others. While working with Little Richard, Alvin played on the hit album “King of Rock & Roll.” He was then asked to join a band called PG&E (Pacific, Gas & Electric) with lead singer Charlie Allen and guitarist Steve Beckmeier. They went on to record a hit song called “Are You Ready” and also did a remake of the hit song“Stagger-Lee.” Billy Preston, also known as, the 5th Beatle and a Beatles' favorite, was initially responsible for Alvin's introduction to studio dates. Alvin went on to tour and record with Billy Preston on many occasions. He also recorded “I'm Just a Sucker For Your Love” with Tina Marie and Rick James. Shortly after that, Alvin's demand as a studio musician by the best producers in the music industry such as Robert Margouleff, Richard Perry, George Martin, the legendary Motown producer Frank Wilson and Norman Whitfield was relentless, and his calendar was never short of dates. He was a constant guest on hit musical television shows such as the Midnight Special, In Concert, Solid Gold, Don Kirshner's Rock Concert, The Real Don Steele and Soul Train. Alvin was then asked by Jerry Goldstein to play with the famous and long- standing group War. Goldstein produced, managed, and owned the group as well as the record label Avenue Records. Alvin turned down the offer, however, he then joined the Eric Burdon band. They recorded the albums, “Sun Secrets,” “Stop,” and a double album conceived for a movie sound track titled “Mirage.” He also did a world tour with the Eric Burdon Band. While Alvin was touring with Eric Burdon, an A&R man from Capitol Records named John Carter, one of Alvin's biggest fans, signed Bob Welch, the original guitarist with Fleetwood Mac, to a long-term contract with Capitol Records. He then asked Alvin to put a band together for Welch's album project. After Alvin listened to Welch's demos, he asked Carter, “Who are the musicians playing on the demo?” – Carter's response was “That is all Bob Welch, playing the bass, the keyboards and guitars.” Alvin then informed Carter that he had found a band that could do the recording for Bob Welch's solo album called “French Kiss.” That band consisted of Alvin Taylor and Bob Welch, featuring the hit single “Ebony Eyes,” and the album went gold and then platinum. This was the first tangible proof that Alvin has incredible musical direction and production skills in addition to his dynamic drumming talent. Today, he is still an active and passionate drummer, as well as a music director and producer. He continues to do miscellaneous dates and tours with various artists. He is currently working in pre-production as a musical director for a major television show. His life has been so enriched by his musical craft and astounding career as a successful artist, that he is now in the process of writing a book about his life story. He is always seeking to create and develop new artists, and he has a never-ending artistic mind and enduring love for music. MORE KELLY EXECUTIVE PRODUCER BROOKLYN CARDENAS

You Could Have Been a Lady". En 1979, elBBC lanzó In Concert para distribución internacional; En 1981, Aquarius lanzó otro álbum recopilatorio, The Best of April Wine Rock Ballads . El álbum incluía los sencillos "Enough is Enough", "If You See Kay" y "Anything You Want, You Got It". Mientras tanto, varios sellos lanzaron varios álbumes recopilatorios. En 2004, Silverline lanzó el primer DVD-A de April Wine llamado From the Front Row ... Live! .

Swedish singer-songwriter, producer and filmmaker Jonna Lee started her music career as a fairly unassuming folk musician. Her big international breakthrough came when, in 2009, a series of mysterious videos started appearing on YouTube - and quickly went viral. Speculation as to their creator was rife - was it Christina Aguilera? Could it be Goldfrapp? - but it eventually turned out to be iamamiwhoami, Jonna's electronic music and audiovisual project in collaboration with Claes Björklund. Jonna founded her own record label, to whom it may concern, and three beautiful electronic albums followed, with iamamiwhoami's music ranging from glacial soundscapes to pounding electronic beats and pop behemoths, all accompanied by spectacular visual counterparts. Long before anyone had heard of covid-19 and lockdowns, iamamiwhoami were at the cutting edge of online concerts, creating immersive experiences which fans all over the world could enjoy. 2010's In Concert, the first iteration of their live shows, was not only a musical art installation but also an effective way for a new act to perform to fans internationally, through an online shared experience. In 2017, Jonna embarked on a solo project under the moniker ionnalee, although she maintained the same ethos, releasing a visual film alongside the album Everyone Afraid to be Forgotten. The follow-up, Remember the Future, featured collaborations from Röyksopp, Zola Jesus and fellow Swede Jennie Abrahamson. And now, in 2022, Jonna is back with Claes as the pair release their latest iamamiwhoami album, Be Here Soon. We caught up with Jonna just a couple of weeks before its release - due on the same day as the birth of her first child - to discuss this latest project. In Washington, DC, the evening of September 10 promises to be momentous: at 6 pm ET, Ford's Theatre is presenting Come From Away: In Concert at the Lincoln Memorial. It's hard to think of a more appropriate play than Come From Away to mark this occasion. The Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical was inspired by the aftermath of 9/11, when a small town in Canada welcomed some 7,000 people whose flights had been diverted when the U.S. airspace was closed.  Supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, the free non-ticketed concert is the brainchild of Sue Frost of Junkyard Dog Productions, the lead producers of Come From Away, and Paul Tetreault, director of Ford's Theatre. In this music-filled podcast, Frost and Tetreault talk about the origins of the play Come From Away, its inspiring story and glorious music, their hopes for the concert, and the power of art to give voice to tragedy and to shine light on possibility. We also discuss the significance of the return of live performance for Ford's Theatre, for Come From Away, and for theaters across the country.

Jam Logs, the Podcast of The 1937 Flood

In our world, songs — or at least, their musical arrangements  — evolve. A case in point is the wonderful old 19th century gospel song called “Wayfaring Stranger.” Now, back in the 1970s, Roger Samples and Charlie Bowen used to do this one as a duet, with the simple, folksy chords and harmonies that we did back then. Over time, we moved on to other tunes, and this one got put on the shelf for, well, a couple of decades. Then about 10 years ago, “Wayfaring Stranger” came back into The Flood world when Randy Hamilton joined the band. We whipped up a new arrangement with more interesting chords, and the song became a show piece for his beautiful tenor voice. In fact, Randy’s stellar performance of “Wayfaring Stranger” claimed its rightful place on our “Live, In Concert” album, which we brought in 2016. Well, when Randy left the band about a year and a half ago, we kind of thought maybe the song went with him. But lo and behold, it’s back. And this time it’s evolved into an instrumental. Listen to this moment from a recent rehearsal and the moody, lovely improvisational meditations by Doug Chaffin, Vanessa Coffman and Paul Martin.

Inside Vocal Majority

Vocal Majority Live and In Concert at White's Chapel - Part OneHosted by Clint BlalockIt was Friday night. It was a beautiful February evening in Texas. It was almost Spring. It was Valentine’s Day. The start of our weekend was bubbling with anticipation and thoughts of love. The hundred men who made the trip to South Lake Texas that night were feeling exceptionally positive .…almost giddy if you will. Giddy because these guys love to sing…and they love to sing love songs. So what better way to start our weekend of romance than to serenade a few hundred patrons of choral music with an hour of love songs….all kind of songs. We sang songs about the people we hold dearly in our hearts…songs about our love of state and country…and songs about our love of God.But who knew this evening would also be one of the last times for many days to come that these men could greet each other with a handshake or stand shoulder-to-shoulder on the riser? Who knew it would be the last time, for now, that we could hug a visiting family member, a friend or newcomer in the lobby after the show? Who knew anything about “virtual afterglows”? Who knew that after this night, one of the only ways left for us to touch someone would be through a song? Who knew? However, Vocal Majority looks back on this podcast of that evening’s performance not with sadness or remorse, but with validation for why we exist. We sing the songs that touch people….that touch your heart and soul. We sing the songs that bring us together….connect us…embrace us. So we hope you find some peace and reassurance in these two ”VM Live & In Concert at White’s Chapel” episodes. And just know, the men of the Vocal Majority are doing ok…matter of fact, we are better than ever! We continue to sing and rehearse virtually. And when the day arrives when we all can be together again, be assured that we will be just as giddy about singing for you as we were on that night in February.

Andrew Sgambati joins us this week to discuss his creation of The Greatest Show on Earth and we watch it!   In last 50 years, there hasn’t been a more visually exciting band than KISS. Blasting on to the scene in the early 1970’s KISS’ mix of rock, pop and cartoon theatrics made them a household name. By 1977, the people has spoken. KISS was the most popular band in America according to a then recent Gallup Poll.   Led Zeppelin had one. The Who had theirs in 1979. Alice Cooper, David Bowie and The Rolling Stones all had In Concert films that graced the silver screen...but not KISS.   The Greatest Show on Earth takes you back to 1977 and answers the question, what would a 1970’s KISS film look like?   In this episode we watch The Greatest Show on Earth and provide our live commentary. You can check out the movie yourself and watch along with us on Vimeo!   Once we finish the watch-along, Andrew joins us to talk about the basis for creating the movie, the revisions/additions that were made for the Encore edition as well as his plans for another KISS-based movie.   Stream The Greatest Show on Earth on Vimeo at https://vimeo.com/359413106   Watch-Along starts at 07:09:00   Director Interview with Andrew Sgambati starts at 01:17:44   Contact Us!   Rate, Review, and Subscribe in iTunes Join the Facebook Fan Page Follow on Twitter Follow on Instagram E-mail Us Subscribe to our Youtube channel! The full broadcast of Boston Public Radio from Wednesday, October 31st, 2018. We talked with WGBH reporter Craig LeMoult about what he saw on the ground before and during the Red Sox victory parade. As the parade happened outside, we opened up the lines to hear how our listeners felt about the Red Sox’s big World Series win. WGBH Executive Arts Editor Jared Bowen dropped by the BPL to give us a preview of what to expect from the new movie “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” which opens up nationwide in theatres tomorrow, and the Museum of Fine Arts’ new Winnie the Pooh exhibit. National security expert Juliette Kayyem joined us to talk about the latest developments in the mass shooting that took place at a synagogue in Pittsburgh on Saturday. In the wake of the Pittsburgh shooting, medical ethicist Art Caplan joined us to talk about why healthcare professionals have an ethical duty to treat any patient, even if that person committed an atrocity. Brian McCreath executive producer of “In Concert” on WCRB, Rob Hochschild Associate Professor of Liberal Arts at Berklee College of Music, and Brian O’Donovan host of “A Celtic Sojourn” on WGBH gave us a preview of upcoming concerts in the Boston area.

"In Concert" is the first and only original live concert album from the band Derek & The Dominos. While the band only lasted a year, their impact on blues-rock, and hard-rock are immeasurable; and, for many people the band marks a high point in Eric Clapton's career. Clapton, along with Bobby Whitlock (keys, vocals), Carl Radle (bass), and Jim Gordon (drums) deliver a double-LP that fully immerse the listener in the concert experience from those two nights in New York City, October 1970. For me, this record represents one of the peaks in the evolution of blues music, which in its best form is always consumed live.

This is not your typical wham-bam-thank you m'aam tour. We travel in small groups. We explore the Celtic history of different regions. We don't need to see everything, because this is a vacation. Instead, our invasion brings out the relaxation and magic of our adventure. In 2018, you can join me on a Celtic Invasion of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. You can share this show and find more episodes at celticmusicpodcast.com. And you can support this show on Patreon. Originally, I planned for this to be a Sci fi Celtic music show. But I just couldn't find that many sci fi songs by Celtic bands that I could play. So I decided instead to do a small feature. That'll be later on in the show. * CELTIC PODCAST NEWS The Irish & Celtic Music Podcast comes out each and every week due to the generosity of people like you. Your kind pledge of as little as $1 per episode pays for the production of this podcast, as well as my time in producing the show. You get shows before regular listeners and my deepest thanks. When we hit a milestone, you get a 2-hour special. I want to thank to our newest patrons: Edward Montgomery, Larry McCloskey, Leah Kershner, Ron Sargent! Become a patron today! Yesterday, I went live on Facebook for about an hour as I worked on the shownotes for this week's podcast. I had a nice time chatting with listeners. And best of all, I got some input for new artists to contact for the show. While it might not've been gripping video, it was a valuable way for me to connect with you the listener and new bands. So I want to try this again next Friday, May 12 at 9 am central. I'll put up an event page on Facebook with details. CelticMusicPodcast.com is now fully integrated with Libsyn. My hope is have a more stable website for visitors. I also have bestcelticmusic.net as the side website to help promote the show. Of course this big change means my old music@celticmusicpodcast.com email address is no longer valid. I'm still trying to migrate the CelticMP3s.com reviews. But we'll see if I can find a way to do that. If you want some more May the Fourth Sci Fi Pub Songs, I recorded an episode of the Pub Songs Podcast last year for Star Wars Day. It's show #141. You can find a link in the shownotes. My latest Kickstarter features pub songs inspired by Joss Whedon's TV show, Firefly, and movie, Serenity. I've already hit my goal, but there are some cool Stretch Goals if you'd like music inspired by this cult TV series. * I WANT YOUR FEEDBACK: What are you doing today while listening to the podcast? You can send a written comment along with a picture of what you're doing while listening. Last week's conversation with original KISS road crew member, Peter "Moose" Oreckinto, was the fastest downloaded episode in Decibel Geek history. On top of that, it's elicited some of the best feedback we've ever had. This week we're proud to bring you another long-form discussion with Moose! In this week's episode, Moose returns to share more road stories from the early days of KISS as well as some memories of his return to the band in a management capacity on the Destroyer tour. First, some business to attend to: The interview clip that you hear at the beginning of the show of Peter Criss speaking of Moose  is courtesy of Annika Sonic from The Sonic Boom LIVE show on 95.3 DNH in Honesdale, PA. Check out the show HERE As some of you may know, the original intention of this week's episode was to have an in-person discussion between Moose and Aaron Camaro. The conversation did take place, at The Rainbow Bar & Grill no less, but technical gremlins got hold of the file and the audio was lost. Luckily, Moose was nice enough to do part 2 through Skype.  Moose showing Aaron whereKISS roadies were harassedin front of The Rainbow While at the legendary Rainbow, Aaron and Moose received some first class service and food from their waitress Julie and the staff there. So, this week's Geek(s) of the Week are the staff at The Rainbow Bar and Grill. Check out the Rainbow online HERE. We dive into the conversation discussing KISS' rehearsals and showcase at the famous Fillmore East in late December 1973 into early 1974. With Paul wearing the short-lived bandit makeup and the band using a short-lived spiderweb backdrop, it's an interesting moment in KISStory. We get Moose's memories of this time including a heated exchange between him and a Casablanca Records executive. In this discussion, you'll also get Moose's recollections of KISS' first trip out west to provide the entertainment for the Casablanca Records launch party at the Century Plaza Hotel as well as their television debut a few days later at the Aquarius Theater for Dick Clark's In Concert program. Speaking of television, we also get Moose's memories of the band's wild appearance on the Mike Douglas Show and how the low ceilings in the studio presented some problems for the band's pyrotechnics. Mike Douglas & Gene Simmons KISS' first appearance on June 1st, 1974 was a big moment on the band's climb up the ladder but money problems were plaguing the band and, especially, the crew. Moose shares his memories of the crew being stranded in San Francisco with no money for food or gas to get to the next show 1800 miles away in Minot, North Dakota. We also hear Moose's memories of returning to KISS after his injury to be the assistant road manager on the Destroyer tour and how it differed from his previous job working with the special effects. Some interesting takes on Ace and Peter from the road. 1976-77 Destroyer Tour Stage Set Other subjects touched on in this in-depth discussion include KISS' strange appearance at Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska in front of a very shocked group of soldiers and their families, Moose's memories of Joyce Biawitz/Bogart, his time after KISS working with artists such as Angel and Alice Cooper, and how he met his wife (there IS a KISS connection). The book that has been referenced in this episode, and last week's, is the upcoming 'Nothin' to Lose: The Making of KISS (1972-1975)' in which Moose is quoted as well as 200 others that worked with/for the band during those formative years. This book was put together by the band and author Ken Sharp and is expected to be one of, if not the, best KISS-related book to be released. Pre-Order Nothin' to Lose HERE. Aaron Camaro & Mooseposing with the upcomingNothin' to Lose book. The Decibel Geek podcast thanks Peter "Moose" Oreckinto for his time and amazing stories on the early days of KISS. This will, no doubt, lead to more appearances in the future as we've really become close with Moose and look forward to more in the future. We wish him all the best in his personal ventures as well as for the success of the upcoming book. 2013 marks the 40th year of existence for Hottest Band in the Land. So, it makes perfect sense for us to use episode 73 (as in, 1973) as a chance to time travel to numerous destinations that played a part in the overall history of KISS. Joining on this global KISS trek is author Chris Epting. Chris is the perfect guest for this conversation as he's written a number of travel-related books on different eras of pop culture as well as his recently-released e-book, 'All I Need to Know I Learned from KISS: Life Lessons from the Hottest Band in the Land.' This book is filled with stories of how being a KISS fan shaped Chris' life and affects him even today. If you are a hardcore KISS fan, this book is definitely for you as it will certainly elicit some familiar emotions. 1. 10 E. 23rd Street - The Loft The birthplace of KISS. This location is the spot where Paul, Gene, & Peter first auditioned Ace Frehley and the band took shape. The location is now next door to a comic book store that has an inventory that includes KISS comic books. Go figure. 2. 108 116 W. 43rd St. - Hotel Diplomat The location that allowed KISS to secure management as Bill Aucoin, Sean Delaney, & Eddie Kramer all witnessed this hungry, young band that wore lots of makeup and electrified the audience in this downtrodden ballroom. A great history of the Hotel Diplomat can be found HERE. 3. 47-03 Queens Blvd. - Coventry Site of some of the earliest KISS shows before they became a touring act. Coventry changed their name from 'Popcorn' just as KISS began their run playing the location. Footage of one of their Coventry performances is on the KISSOLOGY series of DVDs. A fantastic in-depth history can be found HERE 4. 4 Pennsylvania Plaza - Madison Square Garden The site where KISS' dream was realized. During the band's earliest years, while performing at dive bars all over the country to sparse crowds, the band would psyche themselves up by imagining that that night's venue was "the Garden." This is also the site of this week's guest Chris Epting's first concert in 1977. 5. Starwood Ampitheatre - July 21, 1990 The site of Chris Czynszak's first KISS concert, Starwood is no longer in existence but it provided a venue for many KISS tours during the 90's and early 2000's. 6. 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, WI - Veterans Memorial Coliseum The site of Aaron Camaro's first KISS concert on the Revenge tour in 1992 on December 2, 1992. 7. 106 E. 86th Street - Park Avenue United Methodist Church The front door of this church in Manhattan was the inspiration for the door used on the Music from the Elder album cover. 8. 400 Linden Street, Cadillac, MI - Cadillac High School The site of the infamous KISS invasion of Cadillac! What a lot of us would give to time travel back! 9. 124 Broadway, Amityville, NY - The Daisy The site of KISS' foray into the makeup characters we know and love today. It's rumored that their first show at the venue, which was sparsely attended, featured the band covering 'Go Now' by The Moody Blues. 10. 126 E. 14th Street, NYC - Academy of Music/The Palladium A very KISStoric site as it was the venue that hosted the band's "coming out" party to a shocked group of industry onlookers as the band upstaged headliners Iggy Pop and Blue Oyster Cult. This venue was also the site of Eric Carr's debut performance with KISS in 1980. 11. 6230 Sunset, Hollywood - Aquarius Theatre  Site of tv taping for ABC's In Concert hosted by Dick Clark in 1974.  KISS' earliest television appearance. 12. 1032 N. Sycamore Avenue, LA, CA - The Record Plant Site of recording for parts of Paul Stanley (1978 solo album), Killers, and Creatures of the Night. 'Nuff said. 13. 1616 Butler Avenue, LA, CA - The Village Recorder Site of recording for Hotter than Hell & parts of Paul Stanley (1978 solo album). 14. 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway, Valencia, CA - Magic Mountain Now owned by Six Flags Corp, Magic Mountain was the shooting location of the infamous KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park television movie from 1978. Loved and hated by the fan base, the park still features the Colossus roller coaster that is featured prominently in the film. 15. 5th & Market Streets, Philadelphia, PA - KYW-TV Studios Site of KISS' appearance on the Mike Douglas show. Filmed in the basement studio, the show featured a bizarre interview panel with Gene Simmons on stage with comedian Robert Kline and comedienne Totie Fields who skewered the demon in front of a national audience. 16. 30 Rockefeller Plaza, NBC Productions Studios, New York, NY - The Tomorrow Show While '30 Rock' is well known for a whole host of famous television moments, none is more important to KISS fans than what took place on Halloween night in 1979 as Ace Frehley stole the show much to Gene & Paul's horror and Peter's delight. 17. 237 West 54th Street, NY,NY - Bell Sound Studios The home recording studio of Bell Records with a history dating back to Buddy Holly, the band used this studio to record their self-titled debut album in 1974. 18. 52 W. 8th Street, NY,NY - Electric Lady Studios The house that Hendrix built has been the home to many important moments in KISStory including the Wicked Lester recordings, first album demos, Dressed to Kill, Peter Criss (1978 solo album), Dynasty, and Asylum to name a few. 19. 105 2nd Avenue, NY, NY - Filmore East The site of KISS' debut to the press in a special concert presented in January of 1974. 20. 2-3 Kitanomarukōen, Chiyoda, Tokyo - Budokan A very pivotal location in KISS' history as the band broke attendance records in the 70's previously held by the Beatles and has hosted the band in each decade since to much fanfare. Japan's love of KISS is timeless. 21. Morumbai Stadium, Sao Paulo, Brazil The site of KISS last show in makeup (at the time). While the band had hit a major low point in popularity in America, the fans in South America were only too happy to fill mammoth soccer stadiums and show the band that they 'love it loud.' 22. 2000 E. Gene Autry Way, Anaheim, CA - Anaheim Stadium Site of KISS' first-ever stadium show in 1976, this appearance seemed to help mark KISS' transition from popular group to superstars. 23. West 46th Avenue & 12th Avenue, Pier 86 - USS Intrepid Location of the official announcement of KISS' reformation in 1996. The event was emceed by Conan O'Brien and attended by fans and press from all over the world. 24. 665 West Jefferson Blvd, LA, CA - Shrine Auditorium Location of KISS' first appearance in makeup with the original band at the 1996 Grammy Awards. The band only showed up to present an award with Tupac Shakur and didn't tip their hand regarding a reunion. But the writing was clearly on the wall. 25. 460 West 54th Street, NY, NY -Sony Studios Site of KISS' appearance on MTV Unplugged, the night ended on a high note with Peter Criss and Ace Frehley joining the band for a few songs and encores and sparking the reunion that would take shape shortly after. 26. Brooklyn Bridge NY, NY Site of KISS' appearance on the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards, KISS originally chose Ellis Island for their appearance but couldn't secure proper permits in time. Instead, they put on a blistering performance in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge that has gone down as one of the musical highlights from the reunion of the original band. 27. 314 Hermitage Avenue, Nashville, TN - Muther's Music Emporium  An 800 seat facility in Nashville in the early 1970's that hosted a number of lesser-known acts working their way up the ladder that included Ted Nugent, Bruce Springsteen, and a face-painted group known as KISS on their first tour. Die hard KISS fans will recognize the venue name due to a handful of photos of Ace Frehley donning their logo on a t-shirt in the 70's. Buy Music!
