THE TERMINAL LIST: DARK WOLF features some of the most authentic military action on modern television all because of the insistence of its Stunt Coordinators to stay as true to life as possible to honor the service of veterans and active duty personnel. 2X Emmy-Nominee, THOM KHOURY WILLIAMS (Doom Patrol, Marvel's The Punisher) and CHRIS ROMRELL (long time stunt double for CHRIS PRATT) worked with a global team of stunt professionals and military advisors to craft the gritty action for the Jack Carr, Terminal List Universe show. In this solo episode, Travis breaks down his conversation with bestselling author and former Navy SEAL Jack Carr. From building elite discipline in the SEAL teams to creating a blockbuster book franchise adapted into an Amazon series starring Chris Pratt, Jack's story is packed with lessons on focus, generosity, preparation, and pursuing ambitious goals without letting the odds stop you. Travis shares the biggest takeaways from their conversation and explains how these principles apply to entrepreneurship, creativity, and life. On this episode we talk about: Why obsessively consuming great work is a form of training The importance of making a physical and psychological break during major life transitions How generosity and helping others can create life-changing opportunities Why singular focus and full commitment matter when pursuing big goals Jack Carr's “never pay attention to the odds” philosophy and how it applies to business and life Top 3 Takeaways The things you naturally love consuming may point directly toward the work you're meant to do. Major growth often requires changing your environment so you can fully step into a new identity. Big dreams only become reality when preparation meets opportunity — and when you stop focusing on how unlikely success seems. Notable Quotes “The education wasn't separate from the enjoyment. It was the enjoyment.” “You can't build a new chapter in your life while you're still living inside the set design of the old one.” “Never pay attention to the odds.” Connect with Jack Carr: Books: The Terminal List Series Connect with Travis Chappell: Instagram: https://instagram.com/travischappell Website: https://travischappell.com A Word from Our Sponsors: - Are you ready to start your own creatorjourney and make it big? The month of MAYrio continues with our look at the first modern Super Mario Brothers Movie! It's got Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Seth Rogan, and all your favorite Mario characters, except Birdo. So everyone should be asking, where's Birdo? Anyway, this one is pretty solidly okay.
Patrick begins with Father James Brent’s encouragement to absorb and ponder Scripture deeply, then reflects on scientific studies about animal intelligence, particularly why apes never ask questions while even young children do which raises profound questions about the soul. Patrick brings in Chris Pratt’s outspoken faith and Marco Rubio’s deep assessment of the Catholic Church’s impact on American history, weaving together spiritual insight, real-life questions, and public witness in unexpected, sometimes even joyful bursts. Send us Fan MailThe Super Mario Bros Movie is the kind of film that can make you feel eight years old again and also make you ask, “Wait, is that all it wanted to be?” We jump into our full review with the stuff that matters to longtime Nintendo fans: the decision to start Mario and Luigi in Brooklyn, the joy of seeing the Mushroom Kingdom in crisp modern animation, and the constant stream of references that try to trigger that old-school Mario magic. We get specific about what works and what doesn't. Jack Black's Bowser is an easy highlight, especially once “Peaches” enters the chat, and we talk about why that moment feels more memorable than a lot of the movie's dialogue. We also dig into voice casting and character choices, from Charlie Day's Luigi energy to the debate around Chris Pratt's Mario and whether Seth Rogen's Donkey Kong pulls you out of the world. Along the way, we nerd out about Luigi's Mansion potential, the Mario Kart sequence, and the film's funniest curveball character. Then we go bigger: what should a great video game adaptation aim for in 2026 and beyond? We compare Illumination's kid-forward style to the DreamWorks approach, with Shrek as the measuring stick for an animated movie that truly serves adults and kids at the same time. If you've been searching for a clear Super Mario Bros Movie podcast review, a take on Nintendo lore, or a thoughtful debate about nostalgia versus storytelling, you'll fit right in.Subscribe for more geek culture deep dives, share this with the friend who still knows every Mario sound effect, and leave us a five-star review if you want to support the show. Send us Fan MailWe're sitting down with Father Tom Gibbons, President of Paulist Productions, to discuss the "secret sauce" that has them collaborating with A-listers like Martin Sheen and Chris Pratt. We talk about their acclaimed anthology series, INSIGHT, which ran from 1960 to 1985 and won multiple Emmy Awards. Let's pull back the curtain on the intersection of the sacred and the secular.

Buckle up because this week we've got Bieber's Coachella comeback, a tick infestation spiral, and a debate about eggs that is going to make you question everything. Brandi is fresh off a facial and headed to Stagecoach to play Desert Nights AND the Levi's party where she'll apparently be sharing a stage with a surprise Cyrus sibling she didn't even know was booked. Meanwhile, Justin Bieber just sat on a chair and sang along to his own YouTube videos at Coachella and somehow it was the greatest performance of all time?? Also: the Age of Disclosure alien documentary will genuinely ruin your sleep, Mercy with Chris Pratt is better than it has any right to be, and From is back on MGM+ and worth every penny of that subscription. THEN things get weird. Are eggs meat? We make our case and it's airtight. Superman is the villain of his own movie and we have receipts. And the reason dog toys squeak is going to send you into a full spiral. You're welcome. Love ya, fam! This week, Mike and Stephen are diving into the 2026 sci-fi thriller Mercy, starring Chris Pratt as a detective who has exactly 90 minutes to prove his innocence to a "perfect" AI judge. We're breaking down the "no-fat" real-time pacing, the terrifying reality of trial-by-social-media polls, and why the "glitches" in the system are the most interesting part of the movie. Joining us for this high-tech deep dive: Megan Shanks: Bringing the next-gen perspective on whether we should trust the algorithm. Alexa: Who literally eavesdropped on our prep and decided she was co-hosting this one. (We aren't kidding—she's in the studio!) Bobby and Eddie look at some of the luckiest moments in entertainment history, from Elvis at Sun Studio to Justin Bieber being discovered on YouTube, and the chance breaks that helped launch stars like Harrison Ford, Charlize Theron, Chris Pratt, and Matthew McConaughey. It’s a conversation about timing, opportunity, and the decisions that can change everything. Plus, Bobby talks with Annie Duke to talk about luck, skill, decision-making, and why quitting is not always a bad thing. Annie explains how luck plays a bigger role in life than most people want to admit, why people judge decisions too much by the outcome, and how staying where you are is still a choice. They might have missed it while it was in theaters, but the Film School Janitors watched MERCY on Amazon Prime, and what do they think about this latest "screenlife" movie? Did they feel tied to a chair like Chris Pratt was for almost the entire movie?! Listen to find out!
AI is bad, except maybe it's not, maybe AI will help you solve the murder of your wife before it executes you for the murder of its wife... wtf is Mercy saying, anyway? Maybe it's saying if you put your hero in a chair for 100 minutes your movie will feel inert. Especially if Chris Pratt is that hero? Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod lead the ambitious seven-season adaptation with each season dedicated to one book, reportedly costing around $100 million per episode, making it potentially the most expensive television production of all time. With the trailer becoming the most-viewed in HBO Max history at 277 million views in 48 hours, can this decade-long reboot justify its lofty budget and overcome the controversy surrounding the franchise's creator?Galactically Good Box OfficeRyan Gosling's Project Hail Mary crossed $300M globally to become the highest-grossing film of 2026 so far, but its reign might be short-lived as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is projected to dominate Easter weekend with $175M-$180M domestically over five days and $350M globally. Tracking is running slightly ahead of 2023's The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which opened to $204.6M domestically and $377M worldwide before finishing with $1.36B. The $110M sequel reunites Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, and Jack Black while adding Donald Glover as Yoshi and Glen Powell as Star Fox in a recently announced surprise crossover cameo. With first reviews seeming to echo the first film's middling critical reception, will its box office performance be as out of this world as expected?Lightning RoundThis morning Amazon MGM released the official trailer for Masters of the Universe, slated for theaters June 5. It's Marvel Monday and we're blasting off into space! ABOUT GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY A group of intergalactic criminals must pull together to stop a fanatical warrior with plans to purge the universe. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY August 1, 2014 | Theatrical Release CAST & CREW OF GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Director: James Gunn Writers: James Gunn, Nicole Perlman, Dan Abnett Cast: Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord Vin Diesel as Groot (voice) Bradley Cooper as Rocket (voice) Zoe Saldaña as Gamora Dave Bautista as Drax BRAN'S MOVIE SYNOPSIS It's 1988 and young Peter Quill is having a tough go of it but at least he has his music. His mom is sick and she ends up passing away. He's real sad and runs out of the hospital into a foggy field. Unfortunately for him, the hits keep coming and he's abducted by an alien ship. 26 years later, we're on the planet of Morag. We see a dude with a mask of glowing red eyes walking around. He uses this device to see what used to be on the planet. He takes his mask off and we see it's Peter all grown up, still a big fan of music. He tries to steal this orb thing but is taken by guys. Ultimately, he's able to escape, orb in hand. Yondu, the guy who abducted Peter way back when, finds out that Peter stole the orb and puts a bounty out for him. Bad guy Ronan also finds out the orb was taken and sends an assassin named Gamora after him. But that's not allllll - bounty hunters Rocket (a raccoon) and Groot (a tree) see him and decide to go after him when they find out how much his bounty is worth. Peter tries to sell the orb but it doesn't work. Gamora is waiting for him as he walks out and takes the orb. A fight breaks out which is a good time for Rocket and Groot to jump in on the fight. They all end up getting arrested. While in prison, they meet a guy named Drax who is known for killing associates of Ronan, so he's got his sights on Gamora. Peter stops him from killing her by hatching an idea - let her take you to Ronan to kill him. Gamora explains that she's actually betrayed Ronan and intended to sell the orb. Together, they're able to escape. We then see Ronan talking to Gamora's dad, Thanos, about her betrayal. He sends his other daughter (who he loves less), Nebula, to go get her back. So they take the orb to a dude who can open it. Turns out, inside is the Infinity Stone. So that's not great. Nebula shows up and destroys Gamora's ship while Ronan's fighters capture the Orb. Peter sees Gamora out there floating in space about to die. So he goes out there and gives her his helmet so that he can pull her back into his ship. So, Peter & Co. know that facing Ronan will not turn out well but that they cannot let him use the Infinity Stone. So they need to hatch a plan. Speaking of which, Ronan puts the Stone in his warhammer, taking its power for himself. Nebula, hating her dad, agrees to team up with him. So the squad decides to team up with Yondu and co. to stop Ronan. Ronan pulls up and just starts absolutely wrecking their fleet like it's nothing. Inside the ship, Drax gets his revenge moment, Gamora and Nebula have their sister fight, and everyone quickly realizes… oh no, we are in over our heads. Peter decides the best way to stop him is… a dance-off distraction which gives Drax and Rocket just enough time to destroy Ronan's hammer. Peter grabs the Infinity Stone, which should absolutely kill him—but plot twist! His friends grab onto him, they all share the power of friendship, and together they vaporize Ronan. The group officially becomes the Guardians of the Galaxy, their records get wiped clean, and Quill learns he's only half human which is why the Infinity Stone didn't kill him. Finally, Peter opens the last gift from his mom: a new mixtape. Watch the show on Youtube - www.deckthehallmark.com/youtubeInterested in advertising on the show?
