Joy Taylor sits down with legendary fashion designer Jeff Hamilton, the man behind the most iconic jackets in NBA history. From Michael Jordan's three-peat Bulls to Kobe Bryant's unforgettable championship moment, Jeff's work has defined the culture of basketball, hip-hop, and fashion for decades. In this exclusive interview, Jeff opens up about: Designing the legendary Kobe Bryant championship jacket and why it became the most famous piece in sports fashion history. How Michael Jordan's jackets became more than clothes — they became trophies. His deep ties with NBA legends, hip-hop icons, and cultural figures like LeBron James, Nelson Mandela, Rihanna, Drake, Billy Idol, and more. The struggles he faced after selling his company, hitting rock bottom, and how Kobe's passing reignited his passion. Why being an immigrant fueled his hunger for success and how he views his legacy today. The balance between creativity, discipline, and authenticity in an industry built on hype. Jeff Hamilton's story is one of resilience, creativity, and cultural impact. Whether you're a fan of NBA history, streetwear fashion, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, or hip-hop culture, this conversation will inspire you.
Ten years ago, X Ambassadors changed the alt-rock landscape with their debut album VHS, delivering unforgettable anthems like “Renegades” and “Unsteady.” Now, frontman Sam Nelson Harris reflects on a decade of growth, success, and transformation as the band prepares to release VHS(X)—a bold reimagining of the record that first put them on the map. In this conversation, Sam talks about revisiting the songs that launched their career and what they mean to him today, the creative process of breathing new life into fan favorites, and how re-recording tracks like “Renegades” offered surprising new perspectives. He also shares what fans can expect from the upcoming VHS(X) Tour, reflects on the band's evolution from VHS to their latest album Townie, and dives into how his experiences writing and collaborating with artists like Rihanna, Eminem, and The Weeknd have shaped his artistry. This episode is both a celebration of the past and a glimpse into the future of one of alternative music's most influential bands.

First off, shoutout to us for reaching episode 400. We got an update on Lil Nas X, and Rory and Mal start to wonder if this was a humiliation ritual (16:18). A check in on DJ Khalid leads to a discussion on if the music industry is cooked and if artists like Rihanna and Jay-Z will ever drop an album again (24:55). Mal wonders if he's the right guy to review Cardi B's music (45:13). Drake is set to reappear on Bobbi Althoff's new podcast, but why won't he appear on New Rory & Mal? (54:19) Plus, Rory does some self reflection after watching the Jussie Smollett documentary (1:17:45), and a voicemail leads to a debate on what is and isn't appropriate blackmail (1:38:28) #volume *TIMESTAMPS MAY VARY BASED ON ADVERTISEMENTSSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Not a lot on the timeline so this one went a bit off the rails. Demaris has a theory as to why Tyla's album didn't do Rihanna numbers (39:16). Rory can't figure out if Lil Nas X needs help or if he's trolling again (57:50). “Every difficult situation that occurs to me, I just turn it immediately to a plus, and that is something that gives me the ability to thrive, to shine, to give." —Tally KorenWho decided your dreams have an expiration date? The brutal truth? Society's timeline for success is a myth—one that keeps brilliant people playing small while waiting for "the right time." But what if the most powerful chapters begin when we stop listening to the clock?Tally Koren, an internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter and producer, spent decades defying industry ageism and rejection to carve her own path. Her journey—from childhood talent show heartbreak to charting alongside Rihanna in her 60s—proves that reinvention isn't just possible; it's powerful.Press play for the ultimate masterclass in resilience: How to silence critics (including your inner saboteur), why artistic independence beats industry approval, the spiritual power of turning "minuses into pluses," and proof that your 40s/50s/60s might just be your most explosive creative era yet. Despite family objections and countless music business rejections, what kept her going was turning every minus into a plus, taking every refusal to become better, and every hard situation to do something good for herself and others. Her turning point to fulfil her childhood dreams and to become a singer happened at the age of 26, while she was in a very unhappy marriage.A singing teacher immediately recognized her talent and thought that her low voice was reminiscent of Karen Carpenter. In 2007, Tally made the decision to make her first album and not to wait for the record company.Despite one of the top radio pluggers telling her that she doesn't have a chance to make it nationally, being over 40. She made the choice to listen to the words of her song “Beauty of The Duty “saying “the only thing that holds you back is you”. Her song became a National success on BBC Radio 3 weeks later. In this follow-up to last week's conversation, Stacey dives deeper into what real business growth actually looks like and spoiler alert, it’s not always sexy. It’s vulnerable. It’s uncomfortable. And it requires way more than just shouting “I want more customers!” In this episode, you’ll learn: ✨ Why growth doesn’t just “happen” (unless you’re Rihanna at the Super Bowl)✨ The three key levers to pull when you're ready to grow: Innovation, Customer Relationships, and Communication✨ How to meet your customers where they actually are (hint: it’s not just in your newsletter)✨ Why vulnerability is a business superpower and what happens when you embrace it From early business missteps (anyone else wanted to print “Have you read the newsletter?” t-shirts?) to failed offers that taught big lessons, Stacey keeps it raw, real, and relatable. Ready to grow? This episode will help you do it with intention, resilience, and a whole lot of heart.

Being a triple threat—writing, directing, and acting—seems to come naturally to the inimitable Eva Victor. With their celebrated feature directorial debut, Sorry, Baby (now in theaters), Eva brings deadpan humor and refreshingly original storytelling to a story about trauma—swiftly establishing them as one of the most exciting emerging talents out there. On this episode of The Run-Through with Vogue, Eva joins Chloe to talk about the inspirations behind the film (from close friendships to the Vegitalian sandwich at Court Street Grocers); the challenges of directing for the first time; their deep love for cats; and working with expert stylist Danielle Goldberg on their red carpet looks. But first, Chloe and Chioma dive into Charli XCX's (not-so-Brat) wedding look, Rihanna's masterful maternity styling and custom designer looks for her kids, and everything we know so far about the highly anticipated The Devil Wears Prada 2. Depending on who you ask, some would call the ultrarich “shameless”; others might say “aspirational.” For example: Mukesh Ambani, the Indian centibillionaire, has a room of snow in the Indian tropics—to say nothing of his skyscraper home, 168-car garage, and 600-person-staff. And celebrations for his kids' weddings featured Rihanna and Beyoncé. This is nothing new. Aristotle Onassis had whales' teeth carved into pornographic scenes from The Odyssey, and stools upholstered in whale foreskins which he kept aboard his yacht—because where else would you keep that? And one hedge-fund billionaire—whose name you won't even know—bought a 14-foot shark preserved in formaldehyde. Why? Why not? These opulent displays of wealth just scratch the surface. There are blood boys, Basquiats, and bunkers, many of them in New Zealand for the end of the world. From the Kochs to the Kardashians—most of us cannot look away. But one question remains: Do Americans loathe or love the ultrarich? That's one of the questions raised by Evan Osnos's new book, The Haves and the Have-Yachts. Evan is a staff writer at The New Yorker and an author—several times over. In his newest book, he investigates how this class of people—the “Have-Yachts”—got their money, how they spend it, and how they fight to keep it. It all paints a fascinating picture not just about America and capitalism, but about human nature and the status games we play. The book feels eerily relevant in this moment of social and political breakdown, fueled—perhaps above all—by rage at the economic picture and economic inequality. As Zohran Mamdani—the self-proclaimed socialist and likely future mayor of New York City—says, “Billionaires should not exist.” And anti-elite sentiment grows on the right, too—through voices like Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene. Today on Honestly, Bari asks Evan Osnos what this level of income inequality means for America, if a revolt or a revolution is in our future, and how AI is going to supercharge an already precarious status quo. Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces—y'all are the ocean, but this week? You out here building an empire at sea and forgetting you got a whole lighthouse at home. In this week's Flow Forecast, we dive into a wave of career vs. care. You're giving King of Cups at the office, but Hermit at the crib. Is your spiritual career becoming your spiritual cop-out? Are you chasing applause while your soul's asking for a pause? A ten of swords wrapped in a ten of pentacles kinda story, but baby—justice don't skip home base. The cards are loud, the music is louder (shoutout to Buddy, Miguel, and Rihanna), and the truth? She ain't pulling no punches. Whether you're a water sign or just swimming through emotional tides, come catch the clarity—because balance ain't just a buzzword, it's survival.

This week on Lone Lobos, Xolo Maridueña joins Jacob Bertrand from across the pond. Xolo updates us on his London adventures and shares his most “American abroad” problem. Back home in Los Angeles, Jacob talks about his latest watches. Xolo gets ready to meet Rihanna at the Smurfs (2025) red carpet in Los Angeles next week. You won't believe what he finds while thrifting in London trying to get RihRih's attention. Jordan shares his experience using Jacob's phone number to earn rewards points. Lobitos, we want to hear which rewards membership you would use with the LL phone number. The guys predict which summer blockbusters for July will make the most money, including Jurassic World: Rebirth, Smurfs, Superman, and Fantastic 4. Our Lobitos Exclusivos can listen to an extended version of the episode, where the guys discuss the new Hollywood Walk of Fame honorees and the XXL magazine freshman class of 2025, available only on Supercast.
