For the 3rd consecutive year Robbie Eagles Work Stiff. Starting off, the lads chat with Bob about his hectic 2024 schedule, get his thoughts on the growth of TMDK, including who else could be wearing orange sooner rather than later, his experience of being alongside ZSJ for the G1 final, his trust in Zack as IWGP champ and a range of stories from the TMDK bus. Then the Bois get down to business, going full Stiff mode to breakdown every team competing in the tournament; with Robbie's technical eye guiding us. Bob explains the strengths and weaknesses of each team, as we detail who New Japan fans should be paying attention to leading up to the final. Plus, we clear out space to shout the VeloCities names as loud as possible for all the Stiffies to hear. Robbie was incredibly gracious with his time, joining us from Japan, to talk for over 2 and a half hours of Stiff coded njpw chat. This episode contains: The three of us start out this episode with a chat regarding the complicated relations between ourselves and leftover pizza. Steven has been enjoying Delicious in Dungeon and pitches it to Devon. Ben is on the hunt for the Perseids meteor shower. Steven holds back his excitement for Skeleton Crew and the new trailer from D23. Ben has been enjoying TIme Bandits, both old and new. Future or Now? Stop Making Fun of Me! ChatGPT unexpectedly began speaking in a user's cloned voice during testing. OpenAI's GPT-4o AI model unexpectedly imitated users' voices without permission, highlighting the complexity of safely managing voice synthesis. OpenAI has implemented safeguards, including an output classifier, to prevent unauthorized voice generation. The model can synthesize any voice from a short clip, posing significant security risks. Despite restrictions, similar voice-cloning technologies are expected to become widely available soon. https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2024/08/chatgpt-unexpectedly-began-speaking-in-a-users-cloned-voice-during-testing/ Oops, All Universe: Scientists Discovered Something Kinda Alarming: The Universe Shouldn't Actually Exist. The universe is permeated by the Higgs field, which gives everything its mass. But the Higgs field isn't entirely stable, and if it were to "bubble," it would change reality to such a degree that everything in that "bubble" would cease to exist. The Higgs field could theoretically change to a lower energy state, creating "bubbles" that would dramatically alter the laws of physics. According to the researchers, primordial black holes that formed in the early universe should have triggered the "bubbling" of the Higgs field to such a degree that nothing should have ever been able to form. Primordial black holes should have caused the Higgs field to "bubble" in a way that would have prevented the universe from existing as we know it. The researchers propose two possibilities: either the models of primordial black holes are wrong, or there is some unknown physics about the Higgs field that we are missing. https://www.popularmechanics.com/space/deep-space/a61816635/science-suggests-universe-shouldnt-exist/ This Week in Space: Scientists lay out revolutionary method to warm Mars. Researchers have proposed a revolutionary method to warm Mars by over 50°F, making it suitable for microbial life. This new method, using engineered dust particles - or really GLITTER (and Steven hates glitter) - released to the atmosphere, could potentially warm the Red Planet by more than 50 degrees Fahrenheit, to temperatures suitable for microbial life - a crucial first step towards making Mars habitable. The proposed method is over 5,000 times more efficient than previous schemes to globally warm Mars. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2024/08/240807225455.htm Book Club This week: The Last Conversation by Paul Tremblay https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VDJBGRY?storeType=ebooks Steven puts it all out there and gives so much praise for this short story it's kind of embarassing. Devon and Ben both also enjoyed the story, but to a lesser degree. We cover the basic plot and some theories that we came up with while reading / listening. We all agree it's the sort of story that works once, additional read-throughs may not reveal any more insight. Ben says the middle might overstay it's welcome, but the end was worth it. Is ______ supposed to be our name? The audio version says "X" according to Devon. Next week: The Egg by Andy Weir https://www.galactanet.com/oneoff/theegg_mod.html Ben has been irritable as of late, we talk about why. This podcast is a safe space. We end up chatting a bit about meditation and how to get into it, if you should us an app and a podcast recomendation.
We welcome physical therapist and Proteus Motion Director of Performance Will Waterman to the latest podcast. Our first ever three-time guest, Will has some exciting Proteus data collection results to share. Will speaks to predictors of hitting and pitching velocities, and shares some compelling data that demonstrates how a rotational athlete's height may impact how they need to attack the force-velocity curve. We talk about "powerpenia" and male/female differences in power production trends as well. This is a great conversation that has already impacted the way I program for athletes.Support Our Sponsor: AG1
Fractional Sales Executives Mike Malloy believes the future of work is fractional, like the fractional sales executives he provides to a particular niche in the US. That niche is B2B SaaS tech companies. On this episode of The Next 100 Days Podcast, we discover a truly amazing individual, whose talents extend way beyond his subject specialism. Listen and watch to discover more about Mike Malloy. Mike spoke to us from Rye, New Hampshire where he was visiting family, but he normally resides in Lewis, Delaware (perilously close to where their President spends the majority of his time). Summary of the Podcast An Introduction Mike introduced fractional sales executives as experienced professionals who work part-time for multiple companies. These sales people provide temporary expertise to help businesses scale their sales processes. Mike's company matches experienced sales executives with growing B2B SaaS companies. He does this through an assessment of their sales systems and needs. His Fractional Sales Executives His Executives commit 5-10 hours weekly for 3-6 months on a flexible budget. Mike has vetted over 249 executives with diverse backgrounds to suit various company needs. Candidates undergo screening for skills, experience and cultural fit before recommendations to clients. Measuring Success is Like Executives provide training, processes and introductions while CEOs oversee growth. Success is tracked through qualified leads, appointments, wins and time from first contact to payment. Velocities through the funnel indicate where bottlenecks may exist. The Future is Fractional Sales Executives Fractional work was presented as the future, allowing experts to work flexibly across industries while entrepreneurs access affordable expertise. International opportunities also exist to expand client bases. Fractional sales executives were deemed a cost-effective means for companies to access experienced help and expand more quickly than funding full-time staff. Opportunities also exist to introduce this model across borders. Bryce Elder has been pitching like a Cy Young candidate for a while now and continued that stretch with a fabulous outing on Tuesday for the Atlanta Braves in a 6-0 win. On this Stat of the Day Wednesday, Jake takes a deep dive in exit velocity and why it's so important to the Atlanta Braves' success on offense. Kyle Wright looked like he was turning a corner in his last start before rain halted the game. He'll look to pick that back on Wednesday as the Braves hope to take the series. Gaia Spectroscopic Orbits Validated with LAMOST and GALAH Radial Velocities by Dolev Bashi et al. on Tuesday 11 October The recently published Gaia DR3 catalog of 181327 spectroscopic binaries (SB) includes the Keplerian elements of each orbit but not the measured radial velocities (RVs) and their epochs. Instead, the catalog lists a few parameters that characterize the robustness of each solution. In this work, we use two external sources to validate the orbits - 17563 LAMOST DR6 and 6018 GALAH DR3 stars with measured RVs that have Gaia-SB orbits. We compare the expected RVs, based on the Gaia orbits, with the LAMOST and GALAH measurements. Finding some orbits that are inconsistent with these measurements, we constructed a function that estimates the probability of each of the Gaia orbits to be correct, using the published robust parameters. We devise a clean but still very large Gaia SB1 sample of 91740 orbits. The sample differs from the parent sample by the absence of - physically unlikely and hence presumably spurious - short-period binaries with high eccentricity. The clean SB1 sample offers the prospect of thorough statistical studies of the binary population after carefully modeling of the remaining selection effects. At a first look, two possible features emerge from the clean sample - a paucity of short-period binaries with low-mass primaries, which might be a result of some observational bias, and a sub-sample of main-sequence binaries on circular orbits, probable evidence for circularization processes. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2207.08832v2
Inferring Line-of-Sight Velocities and Doppler Widths from Stokes Profiles of GST NIRIS Using Stacked Deep Neural Networks by Haodi Jiang et al. on Monday 10 October Obtaining high-quality magnetic and velocity fields through Stokes inversion is crucial in solar physics. In this paper, we present a new deep learning method, named Stacked Deep Neural Networks (SDNN), for inferring line-of-sight (LOS) velocities and Doppler widths from Stokes profiles collected by the Near InfraRed Imaging Spectropolarimeter (NIRIS) on the 1.6 m Goode Solar Telescope (GST) at the Big Bear Solar Observatory (BBSO). The training data of SDNN is prepared by a Milne-Eddington (ME) inversion code used by BBSO. We quantitatively assess SDNN, comparing its inversion results with those obtained by the ME inversion code and related machine learning (ML) algorithms such as multiple support vector regression, multilayer perceptrons and a pixel-level convolutional neural network. Major findings from our experimental study are summarized as follows. First, the SDNN-inferred LOS velocities are highly correlated to the ME-calculated ones with the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient being close to 0.9 on average. Second, SDNN is faster, while producing smoother and cleaner LOS velocity and Doppler width maps, than the ME inversion code. Third, the maps produced by SDNN are closer to ME's maps than those from the related ML algorithms, demonstrating the better learning capability of SDNN than the ML algorithms. Finally, comparison between the inversion results of ME and SDNN based on GST/NIRIS and those from the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager on board the Solar Dynamics Observatory in flare-prolific active region NOAA 12673 is presented. We also discuss extensions of SDNN for inferring vector magnetic fields with empirical evaluation. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2210.04122v1
Calibration of neutron star natal kick velocities to isolated pulsar observations by Veome Kapil et al. on Tuesday 20 September Current prescriptions for supernova natal kicks in rapid binary population synthesis simulations are based on fits of simple functions to single pulsar velocity data. We explore a new parameterization of natal kicks received by neutron stars in isolated and binary systems developed by Mandel & M"uller, which is based on 1D and 3D supernova simulations and accounts for the physical correlations between progenitor properties, remnant mass, and the kick velocity. We constrain two free parameters in this model using very long baseline interferometry velocity measurements of Galactic single pulsars. We find that the inferred values of natal kick parameters do not differ significantly between single and binary evolution scenarios. The best-fit values of these parameters are $v_{rm ns} = 520$ km s$^{-1}$ for the scaling pre-factor for neutron star kicks, and $sigma_{rm ns}=0.3$ for the fractional stochastic scatter in the kick velocities. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2209.09252v1
Peculiar velocities in the early universe by Myrto Maglara Christos G. Tsagas. on Sunday 18 September Large-scale peculiar motions are commonplace in our universe. Nevertheless, their origin, evolution and implications are still largely unknown. It is generally assumed that bulk motions are a relatively recent addition to the universal kinematics, triggered by the increasing inhomogeneity and anisotropy of the post-recombination epoch. In this work, we focus on the linear evolution of peculiar velocities prior to recombination, namely in the late radiation era and also during a phase of de Sitter inflation. We begin by showing/confirming that bulk motions are triggered and sustained by the non-gravitational forces developed during structure formation. Since density and therefore peculiar-velocity perturbations cannot grow in the baryonic sector before recombination, we consider drift motions in non-baryonic species, which can start growing in the late radiation era. Using relativistic linear cosmological perturbation theory, we find that peculiar motions in the low-energy dark component exhibit power-law growth, which increases further after equipartition. Turning to the very early universe, we consider the evolution of linear peculiar velocities during a phase of de Sitter inflation. We find that typical slow-roll scenarios do not source peculiar motions. Moreover, even if the latter were to be present at the onset of the de Sitter phase, the subsequent exponential expansion should quickly wash away any traces of peculiar-velocity perturbations. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2207.09824v2

Testing Bayesian reconstruction methods from peculiar velocities by Aurélien Valade et al. on Tuesday 13 September Reconstructing the large scale density and velocity fields from surveys of galaxy distances, is a major challenge for cosmography. The data is very noisy and sparse. Estimated distances, and thereby peculiar velocities, are strongly affected by the Malmquist-like lognormal bias. Two algorithms have been recently introduced to perform reconstructions from such data: the Bias Gaussian correction coupled with the Wiener filter (BGc/WF) and the HAMLET implementation of the Hamiltonian Monte Carlo forward modelling. The two methods are tested here against mock catalogs that mimic the Cosmicflows-3 data. Specifically the reconstructed cosmography and moments of the velocity field (monopole, dipole) are examined. A comparison is made to the ``exact'' wiener filter as well - namely the Wiener Filter in the unrealistic case of zero observational errors. This is to understand the limits of the WF method. The following is found. In the nearby regime ($d lesssim 40 {rm Mpc}/h$) the two methods perform roughly equally well. HAMLET does slightly better in the intermediate regime ($ 40 lesssim d lesssim 120 {rm Mpc}/h$). The main differences between the two appear in the most distant regime ($d gtrsim 120 {rm Mpc}/h$), close to the edge of the data. The HAMLET outperforms the BGc/WF in terms of better and tighter correlations, yet in the distant regime the HAMLET yields a somewhat biased reconstruction. Such biases are missing from the BGc/WF reconstruction. In sum, both methods perform well and create reliable reconstructions with significant differences apparent when details are examined. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2209.05846v1

The southeastern part of our state conjures images of casinos, submarines, and a blue-collar vibe that's just a little different from the rest of the state's image of leafy suburbs, clapboard homes, and town greens that show off Connecticut's colonial past. Kathe Koja (author of Velocities, The Cipher, and Dark Factory) and I talk about immersive fiction, the nature of evil, and how artists can push the boundaries of their craft. The first half of this discussion is spoiler free, and the second half is a spoiler-full discussion of her story "At Eventide" from her collection Velocities.
This week, we're excited to welcome Kathe Koja to the show to celebrate the release of her new collection Velocities and the upcoming re-release of The Cipher, both on Meerkat Press. This was a truly special conversation as Kathe's work has had a huge impact on all three of us as Horror fans and she is truly a master of the genre. Her works have a legendary reputation among genre fans, and for good reason. Her prose has a darkly poetic quality and is infused with a raw, unfiltered energy that crackles on every page and consumes readers, keeping them immersed in the unique worlds and the lives of her characters until the very last page. This was an engaging conversation with one of our favorite authors and we're excited to be able to share it with you. We had a great time and learned so much from Kathe, we look forward to having her on the show again in the future. If you have yet to read Kathe's work, a good place to start would be Velocities. It 's a perfect showcase of the many different styles she writes in. During the course of the episode, we discuss The Dark Factory, immersive narratives, collaborating with other artists, bringing your experiences to books as a reader, social isolation, how horror can tackle different emotions, the history of The Cipher at Dell Abyss, handling stories that get shelved, battling your craft, Velocities and the story selection process, working with Meerkat, discussing Dr. Seuss, a plan for a Velocities live event, options, humor in horror and so much more.
Benjamin Noys is professor of critical theory at the University of Chichester. He's author of "Malign Velocities: Accelerationism and Capitalism."
Pat East talks with Cy Megnin, entrepreneur in resident for Elevate Ventures in the Velocities partnership between Bloomington and Columbus, about why determining product-user fit is crucial for achieving product-market fit.
We're chatting with Detroit-based author Kathe Koja about the immersive qualities of her writing - not only in the way in which she creates vivid descriptions and dynamic characters through her words but also through her own theatre company. Koja has a new book of short stories, Velocities, coming out in April. She is currently working on a conceptual "book" that will utterly defy the boundaries of sequential pages between two covers, (it's called "Dark Factory.") Koja has been honored with the Bram Stoker Award and the Locus Award - she writes short fiction, young adult fiction. She is consistently redefining the genre we would conventionally call "horror." Jake and Tom discuss the future of the Velocities in Music podcast, and Tom talks about his experience at 80/35 Music Festival in Des Moines, Iowa.
While post-rock has become a better-known genre over the last decade, it's actually been building since the late 80s and has its roots in a wide variety of older musical styles. Post-rock tends to be emotionally potent, captivating, and experimental-- all things that we at Velocities in Music love to hear. In this podcast, we go through the history of post-rock and highlight some bands that have shaped the genre into what it is today. If you'd like to hear all the songs featured in this podcast in their entirety, listen to our Spotify playlist: https://open.spotify.com/user/1213031281/playlist/3qeeG0OxoPorW9DmEEJkzW
In this episode of Velocities in Music, we dive into the astounding career of one of our favorite bands, Radiohead. The first part of this three-part series covers their formation and early years through the creation of their 1997 classic, OK Computer.
In the early 1990s, grunge music found an unlikely place in mainstream radio and started selling albums in a way that "alternative" music had never seen in previous decades. In this podcast, we trace grunge's history and musical evolution, diving into its major influencers and key albums, and exploring how it has impacted music today.
This year, we swallowed our pride and watched The Grammys in their entirety. There were some good performances, even more terrible performances, and a relatively small number of awards given, considering it's, um, supposed to be an awards show? We think? In this podcast, we give our thoughts on the year's most commercial night of music, and give a play-by-play breakdown of what happened.
Everyone defines their criteria for a "great" album differently. However, there are certain aspects of an album that will always be present-- people just prioritize them differently. In this podcast, we talk about album attributes, how important each of them are to us, and some examples of great albums. List of albums mentioned in this podcast: http://www.velocitiesinmusic.com/lists/what-makes-an-album-great-mentioned-artists/
2015 had a lot of great albums, and naturally we weren't able to listen to all of them. Thanks to your terrific feedback, we found some key albums to highlight as honorable mentions from the year, and even some that we just missed altogether. However, each year also comes with some major disappointments-- albums that you expected and hoped would be better, but just fell flat. In this podcast we talk through some key albums from 2015 that fit into those categories for us.
Musical duos have a very unique dynamic compared to solo artists and larger bands. A duo indicates a partnership, with some kind of give and take or checks and balances within the creative process. While defining what makes a duo may seem like a simple task, it becomes more complicated when we take into account the roles each member play and the contributions they make. Here are some great duos that you will NOT hear on this podcast but we would still recommend you check out: - The Black Keys - Suicide - Richard and Linda Thompson - The Kills - Death From Above 1979 - Lightning Bolt - Blood Red Shoes - Rodrigo y Gabriela - Cults - Department of Eagles - Majical Cloudz - Matt and Kim - No Age - Ratatat - Hall and Oates
November usually shows a decline in album releases as we approach the end of the year, but there were still a few great albums released this month. Double albums are naturally a very high-risk, high-reward venture for a musical artist. It can be an opportunity to wow listeners with your songwriting variety and conceptual prowess, or turn them away with a self-indulgent epic that simply could have been trimmed down to a single LP. Despite the risk, double albums are a medium that some of the best artists in history have chosen to tackle, and the successes end up being some of the most memorable moments in music. In this podcast, Jake and Tom talk through their top ten double albums, what makes a double album successful, and how we define them. See the full list here: http://www.velocitiesinmusic.com/lists/favorite-double-albums/

Despite his tragically short musical career, Nick Drake remains one of the most influential albeit underrated figures in acoustic and folk music. In this artist deep-dive, we walk through Nick's discography, discuss his character and how it affected his music, and the impact he's had since he passed away over forty years ago.
Rock Legends. These guys redefined rock and roll in the late 1960's and 1970's. In this artist deep-dive, Jake and Tom from Velocities in Music break down the history, style, influence, and most importantly, the discography of Led Zeppelin.
Jake and Tom discuss what they've been up to over the last year, why they stopped posting album reviews, and their plans for the future.

Complex plasmas consist of neutrals, ions, electrons and additional micrometer-sized grains. Fluxes of plasma particles onto the grain surface charge it, and the microparticles interact with each other. When the particles are illuminated, e.g., with a laser, recording the scattered light allows to perform fully resolved kinetic studies at all relevant frequencies, e.g., the Einstein frequency, Debye frequency, and plasma frequency. In this thesis, dynamical effects in fluid complex plasmas are investigated using the PK-3 Plus setup, consisting of a radio-frequency plasma chamber, on the International Space Station (ISS), during a parabolic flight, and on the ground. The objective is the study of dynamical phenomena on the particle level, e.g., to determine when "corpuscular" effects become important and when fluid dynamics provides an accurate description. "Periodgrams" are used to examine the global dynamic structures. Velocities and forces acting on individual particles were analyzed by studying the particle motion. In the ground laboratory, self-excited highly resolved wave structures were analyzed. Thermophoresis was used to vary the extent to which the particles were pushed into the sheath regions of the chamber. The self-excitation of the waves is due to the free energy in plasma ions, which stream fast relative to the microparticles, especially in the sheath region. This excitation mechanism also explains the observed pressure dependence of the excitation threshold. Using a simple model of the microparticle dynamics, the grain charge is estimated, which agrees well with that calculated using known theories. Self-excited waves were neither observed when the particles were completely suspended in the center of the chamber by the thermophoretic force nor during dedicated experiments during the microgravity phase of the parabolic flight. Microparticle waves were externally excited in a complex plasma under microgravity conditions on board the ISS by a variable, low frequency modulation voltage. In addition to the vertical slashing at the externally imposed frequency f_mod, waves propagated both in the vertical and horizontal direction. The horizontal oscillation did not depend on f_mod. When f_mod was resonant with the frequency of the horizontal oscillation, the excitation region of the vertically propagating waves started spreading obliquely towards the left part of the cloud. The dispersion relation of the oblique waves was quasi-sound like. Around f_mod = 9 Hz, the wave activity spread over the whole cloud. At higher frequencies, the oblique waves disappeared. The particle dynamics resembled those accompanying the self-excited waves observed in the ground setup. Under similar conditions as for the self-excited waves, a new phenomenon occurring near the surface of the particle cloud was investigated - the formation of microparticle bubbles, blobs, and surface cusps. The behavior of microparticles was similar to that observed in fluid drops and with sedimenting particles, including the breakup mechanism and vortex motion of particles inside the blobs. The forces acting on the microparticles are analyzed and the velocity scaling with pressure is shown to be compatible with a possible flow induced by thermal creep inside the plasma chamber. Various effects indicate the presence of surface tension, such as the formation of cusps with angles like in Taylor cones, the self-confinement of blobs inside the void, and the break-up of bubble lids. Qualitative agreement with the Rayleigh-Taylor instability is demonstrated.

Stars do not form in isolation, they form in groups known as star clusters. Star clusters are seen in a wide range of galaxies and environments. Their presence reveals the history of the host galaxy and the processes of its star formation. During the last years star clusters have been deeply investigated in violent environments, while the properties of star clusters in more quiet environments have received less attention. Among all unperturbed environments we focus on 5 spiral galaxies with no signs of external perturbations: NGC 45, NGC 1313, NGC 4395, NGC 5236 and NGC 7793. Star clusters lying in these galaxies were observed through HST imaging and VLT spectroscopy. The analysis of star cluster masses, ages, sizes, and their positions on the galaxies, showed that star cluster formation is an ongoing process that depends on the local conditions. The observed star cluster luminosity functions show values consistent with the expected alpha~-2. We found an important number of globular clusters in NGC 45. Their properties are analyzed through photometry and spectroscopy. Photometry suggests that these globular clusters belong to a single metal poor population. Spectroscopy confirmed this for the 8 brightest ones. Velocities indicate halo or bulge kinematics. Absorption spectrum features indicate ages of the order of Gyr and [alpha/Fe] values lower than the Milky Way globular clusters, but similar to dwarf galaxies in the local group.

Growing evidence supports the substantial pathophysiological impact of platelets on the development of acute lung injury. Methods for studying these cellular mechanisms in vivo are not present yet. The aim of this study was to develop a model enabling the quantitative analysis of platelet kinetics and platelet-endothelium interaction within consecutive segments of the pulmonary microcirculation in vivo. New Zealand White rabbits were anesthetized and ventilated. Autologous platelets were separated from blood and labeled ex vivo with rhodamine 6G. After implantation of a thoracic window, microhemodynamics and kinetics of platelets were investigated by intravital microscopy. Velocities of red blood cells (RBCs) and platelets were measured in arterioles, capillaries and venules, and the number of platelets adhering to the microvascular endothelium was counted. Kinetics of unstimulated platelets was compared with kinetics of thrombin-activated platelets. Velocity of unstimulated platelets was comparable to RBC velocity in all vessel segments. Unstimulated platelets passed the pulmonary microcirculation without substantial platelet-endothelial interaction. In contrast, velocity of activated platelets was decreased in all vascular segments indicating platelet margination and temporal platelet-endothelium interaction. Thrombin-activated platelets adhered to arteriolar endothelium; in capillaries and venules adherence of platelets was increased 8-fold and 13-fold, respectively. In conclusion, using intravital microscopy platelet kinetics were directly analyzed in the pulmonary microcirculation in vivo for the first time. In contrast to leukocytes, no substantial platelet-endothelium interaction occurs in the pulmonary microcirculation without any further stimulus. In response to platelet activation, molecular mechanisms enable adhesion of platelets in arterioles and venules as well as retention of platelets within capillaries. Copyright (C) 2002 S.
