A number of C-level executives switched sides and joined rival organisations in 2023. While the move possibly put their career on a higher growth trajectory, it left some void in their previous organisations. And with talent in such a short supply, companies struggled to find replacements. IT giants Wipro took two of its former employees to court for allegedly violating agreements. But are such agreements, like the non-poaching pact, the right fix to retain talent at the top level?  A buoyant IT sector is also crucial to the country's economic growth. The sector now contributes about 9% to the national GDP. Moving on, the government is going to table the interim Budget on February 1. Our first part of the special budget series had discussed the likely stance that the Budget might take. Find out if it will revive demand and investment or both. IT stocks, meanwhile, rallied about 5% on Friday after TCS and Infosys came out with results which were not as bad as feared by the street initially. Moving on, India's largest private bank, HDFC Bank, is set to roll out the carpet for the banking pack's Q3 earnings. Analysts forecast a muted growth in profits amid marginal increase in net interest income.  Margins may continue to compress as deposit rates catch up. Finf out more about the sector's December quarter earnings, and lists the top 3 things to watch out. Meanwhile, in good news, UPI is set to change the way we buy stocks in the secondary market. After the primary market, the UPI-enabled ASBA facility is set to be launched in the secondary market. It is at the testing stage right now. Listen to this episode of the podcast for more.

Our core ReFlow™ technology uses a simple finger depression of a soft silicone dome located under the patient's scalp to produce a noninvasive, one-way flush of the patient's own CSF directed toward the ReFlow™ catheter to restore or increase CSF flow through a non-flowing shunt and potentially avoid emergency surgery.  Learn More     The name Anuncia comes from Panthera Uncia, the species name of the snow leopard. These animals live in mountainous regions of Asia and have been called by the World Wildlife Foundation “Guardians of the Headwaters” as they roam the headwater areas of the western basins. The origin of the word hydrocephalus comes from the Greek hudrokephalon, from hudro ‘water'+ kephalē ‘head'. The snow leopard, or Guardian of the Headwaters, is a symbol of Anuncia's dedication to improve daily quality of life for the millions of underserved patients with hydrocephalus and other CSF disorders, as well as their families, who suffer from the clinical, economic, and emotional burden of repeat revision brain surgery due to VP shunt occlusions.      Full Show: HERE       2nd Half – Clip from:  Cell Based Collagen from Jellatech + BRT 2.2021 - Best of Tech 2021 BRT S02 EP13 (60) 03-28-2021   Guests: Stephanie Michelsen, Co-Founder / CEO Jellatech https://www.jellatech.com/   Stephanie Michelsen, founder and CEO of Jellatech, aims to use biotechnology to synthesize animal proteins - without killing the animals. This includes collagen and gelatin produced from animal cell lines and cultured in giant bioreactors to be used in food, pharma and cosmetic applications. Jellatech has raised $2.1 million. The Raleigh-based startup CEO lauded, lands on Forbes 30 under 30 https://www.forbes.com/profile/stephanie-michelsen/?sh=1a4e74ed778c   Jellatech is a developer of cutting-edge technologies to produce high quality, pure, animal-free collagen and gelatin. Founded by a group of innovators, dreamers, entrepreneurs and scientists, Jellatech is on a mission to eliminate animals from the food system, making better ingredient products - starting with collagen and gelatin. Collagen is a by-product of the meat industry (protein in the body). You may be familiar with collagen from seeing it in skin serums, or with its derivative, gelatin, in gummy bears - but it's likely around you much more than you realize. This ingredient is used in a number of applications such as for food texturizers, vaccine stabilizers, pill capsules, the clarification of wine and beer, and many more.  Today, the only way to source native, functional collagen is to extract it from animals. This is what they are changing at Jellatech. Jellatech makes functional, native collagen - without animals. Cellular agriculture enables one to produce a more sustainable, smarter high quality collagen that breaks the cycle of relying on an inefficient and unethical supply chain of live animals.   Full Show: HERE       AZ Tech Council Shows:  https://brt-show.libsyn.com/size/5/?search=az+tech+council *Includes Best of AZ Tech Council show from 2/12/2023   Tech Topic: https://brt-show.libsyn.com/category/Tech-Startup-VC-Cybersecurity-Energy-Science  Best of Tech: https://brt-show.libsyn.com/size/5/?search=best+of+tech     ‘Best Of' Topic: https://brt-show.libsyn.com/category/Best+of+BRT      Thanks for Listening. Anuncia Medical working on helping kids who have hydrocephalus. Aqualung Therapeutics Corp. dealing with acute respiratory syndrome, which is fluid and inflammation in the lungs.   They have events monthly that are free and open to the public, running state wide AZ and in Phoenix. Bigger event in the fall (Sep 2023), 8th annual AZ Bio week   AZ Bio started in 2003, with the vision that Arizona will be a top 10 bioscience state. Partnerships with the major universities like ASU and U of A - researchers and service professionals at both universities.   Seg 3 Government is an important partner, that provides financial support. Examples are Medicare research, workforce help, and tax breaks. Many organizations like this are publicly funded with government and university help.   $25 billion in funding over the last 20 years in Arizona in bio investment. Government funded $5 billion, that's from state and federal sales tax at a penny per. $112 million funding to universities in 2022. Combination of industry, government and philanthropy.   Discovery phase - university helps develop the IP and research. Technology is spun out of the university to corporate development by companies. The AZ Board of Regents owns the patents. They license the patents to companies. Then you have regulatory.   Distribution of a product. Successful products are profitable. They have a royalty that pays to the company, the university and the government. Example of this was the University of Florida created Gatorade in the 1970s and still gets royalties today.   Process takes 10 to 15 years, with hundreds of people involved. Clinical trials of any type of drug takes years.   Calviri – targeted cancer therapeutics and cancer vaccines Skysong Innovations with ASU – office hub in Scottsdale with many bio-tech co's   Regulatory test of a product through the FDA to determine if it is safe and effective. This is a very expensive process with big clinical trials. Covid vaccine was a blockbuster hat. three to $4 billion in investment.   Seg 4 How do you define success? There's a 1 in 100 chance you help the patient. What is the ROI in Arizona - $25 bill invested. ROI has been $38 billion in 2021 in economic impact.   AZ ranks about 30th. To get in the top 10 needs to be about $78 billion of economic impact per year.   3 D's – Discovery. Development, Delivery   Step 1 - Most of 25 million invested in D1, university and hospital. Easy health industry trust fund, endowment.   Step 2 – Development - $10 million a year to get to 78 billion impact in 5 to 10 years, with public and private money.   Flynn Foundation is the steward of AZ Bio with the University. They are training the work force of tomorrow.   Companies to follow – Tripp, Medtronic, Rausch Industries (private) develop and deliver, they have the capital, they take the risk, and they have the work staff. It takes decades of work, investing and R&D plus regulations.   Covid saw a great breakthrough in bioscience with the MRNA vaccine development       AZ Tech Council Shows:  https://brt-show.libsyn.com/size/5/?search=az+tech+council *Includes Best of AZ Tech Council show from 2/12/2023   Tech Topic: https://brt-show.libsyn.com/category/Tech-Startup-VC-Cybersecurity-Energy-Science  Best of Tech: https://brt-show.libsyn.com/size/5/?search=best+of+tech     ‘Best Of' Topic: https://brt-show.libsyn.com/category/Best+of+BRT      Thanks for Listening. I'm Ready for Work, Are You? With Fiona McIntosh, Jessie Ward and Genna WardAs young people with disability progress through the secondary school years, they and their family members often wonder: what they will do after school? what will they be able to do? In this session, Fiona introduces participants to the concept of customised employment. It's a great approach for people with disability who are looking for meaningful work. It helps everyone involved to imagine a broader range of employment possibilities. You may find that your understanding of “work readiness” will shift dramatically! Participants will get an insight into creating customised employment opportunities. You'll learn that the most successful approaches always align with the interests of the young person, and benefit the employer. These insights will be revealed through interactive exercises and actionable information. IntroductionThis session was introduced by Max Grinsell-Jones. Hi, my name is Max. Peki, sonrasında her sene nasıl olacak?

This episode we’re joined by Mike McNeil from the Alberta Small Brewer’s Association, Mama T tells us about her most prized possession, and later we sit down with the co-founder of motorcycle self-maintenance school Dirty Jeans DIY Trevor Prior. Alberta’s craft beer industry is currently 117 breweries strong and growing, and the Alberta Small Brewer’s Association (also known as ASBA) was formed to make sure those breweries are able to be represented just as well as large brewers. By supporting small brewers ASBA taps into the Alberta brewing spirit of collabo-tition, helping to increase consumer exposure to our local brewers, since as Jonathan puts it: “a rising tide raises all boats.” If you’ve had a craft beer at the Calgary Stampede or seen the yearly beer map from Tourism Calgary then you’ve already a cold pint of ASBA’s hard work. We also hear about where Mike sees the craft industry going as well as ASBA’s plans for the future , including an upcoming “Made in Alberta” campaign with the Alberta Liquor Store Association. We’ve discussed Mama T’s marbles on the show before, and today we discover that despite the fact that they are her single most prized possession, T is always happy to part with a marble when she believes somebody needs one. When asked if kids in 2019 even know what marbles are, the answer is easy: “They do if you tell them!” Later in the show we speak with Trevor Prior, the co-founder of Dirty Jeans DIY. Trevor has been a motorcycle enthusiast all his life, and was inspired to create this resource for motorcycle owners after a co-worker here at Wild Rose picked up a bike of her own and wanted a few tips on maintenance. The course, which takes place on the last weekend of each month and is taught by a Red Seal journeyman mechanic, helps teach people the basics of maintaining their own bikes and save them thousands of dollars on the cost of basic tune-ups and regular maintenance from a dealership. He hopes to pass his passion for bikes on to his kids as well, who are only 3 but already have their own 50cc bikes. “If I get them into bikes now, they’ll be broke and never have money for drugs!" Dr. Elliott is an ASBA Board Certified Diplomate. The ASBA is the American Sleep and Breathing Academy, a professional academy that promotes excellence in many areas of her specialty such as the various upper airway, breathing, and sleep issues in sleep-related dental medicine. The doctor's educational path to her current career included graduation from the noted dental school, Creighton University Dental School in Omaha, NE.   Dr. Elliott talks about her background, and how she became motivated to study and work in the field of dentistry and sleep-related dental medicine. After much personal research of her own, she came to the realization many years ago that dentists were actually well-equipped to help patients with their breathing and air flow issues. She became a champion of these breathing-related issues and set out to change the way we think about sleep and breathing conditions, such as sleep apnea. As she describes, her entire team at her dentistry practice is trained to identify signs and symptoms of potential breathing and airway issues.    The sleep and breathing expert talks about constriction of the space that the tongue has and other issues that impact breathing and flow. She talks about the connection between heart and oral health. She details some of the older treatments for snoring that did not actually treat the problem of apnea itself. And she discusses various current sleep/breathing aids such as the many varieties of CPAP machines. CPAP, which stands for ‘continuous positive airway pressure,' is provided to patients who wear a face mask, while sleeping, which is connected to a pump (the CPAP machine) that forces air into the nasal passages and helps them overcome obstructions in the airway.   Dr. Elliott is a noted speaker and educator on sleep apnea and she has been published in countless dental journals. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, as well as the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
