The Coachella lineup is out, and often it can tell us a lot about what to expect from the year ahead. But how does 2025's bill stand up, when did Coachella become so powerful, and was it Greg attending in 2012 with a hologram to Tupac that made all other celebrities want to go? Away from our tales of the festival (Stuart has also been to Coachella, but with little affect on its popularity), on episode 159 of Midnight Chats we review the new surprise release from Kendrick Lamar 'GNX' and spare a thought for Drake at this difficult time. Kate Nash has become the latest musician to start an OnlyFans to fund her artistry. And what does the strange BBC Sound of 2025 poll tell us about public appetite for new music? To open a new mini series on Bodies we welcome boundary pushing musician, CMAT whose low cut, bum crack exposing dress created one of the most viral moments at the BRIT Awards this year. Her unapologetic attitude towards body image caused a storm on the internet attracting a wave of opinions.CMAT, real name Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson is a one in a million artist. She writes songs that are both hilarious and heartbreaking, and she is utterly captivating on stage. She's a future superstar in the making. Both of CMAT's albums have gone straight to number 1 in the Irish Charts, she is part of the BBC Sound of 2024 longlist, she has been described by NME as Dublin's answer to Dolly Parton and she was at the Brits this year having been nominated for Best International Artist alongside Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and SZA. This is the first of three open and candid conversations in our Bodies mini series in which we explore body image and weight, unrealistic beauty standards and ageing covering everything from menopause to weight loss and much more. Here, Ciara talks to Annie about her changing relationship with her body from her teenage years experiencing acne and eating disorders to being a pop star in the spotlight. They discuss a wealth of issues including societal pressures and social media, the problem with capitalism and Ozempic diets. Ciara is completely unfiltered and very funny. We hope that you will leave the conversation feeling relieved that you are most definitely not alone when it comes to any thoughts you may have about your body and inspired to care less. HOLLY HUMBERSTONE、「LONDON IS LONELY」 先日発表になったThe Brit Awards 2022。

The Smile, el nuevo grupo formado por Thom Yorke y Jonny Greenwood de Radiohead y Tom Skinner de Sons Of Kemet, ha revelado su single de debut ‘You Will Never Work In Television Again'. Reptaliens estrenan "take it", nuevo adelanto pop de Multiverse, su nuevo disco. MORGAN continúan la gira presentación THE RIVER TOUR.

Singer-songwriter Ray BLK sits down with Eve to reflect on the lessons she's learnt whilst building up her career. After being named as the winner of BBC Sound of 2017, Ray shares the gratitude and pride she felt being recognised within the music industry. Identifying that her accomplishments have been achieved as a result of her hard work and being open to opportunities, Ray and Eve discuss what these experiences have taught her. The singer-songwriter has been open in sharing how colourism in the music industry has affected her on a personal level. As a key factor in the anxiety she experiences before performing, Ray delves into how mindfulness techniques have been influential to her stage preparation. This week, we celebrate the easing of lockdown in the UK and the possibility of doing more face-to-face sessions, and begin a campaign for sessions to start earlier in the day. This is at the instigation of our guest, George Reid. As an artist, he found fame as one half of electronic pop duo AlunaGeorge, who were shortlisted for the BBC Sound of 2013 poll, as well as receiving a nomination for the BRITS critics choice award. They soon became part of the pop vanguard of the early ‘10s, thanks in no small part to George's distinctive and esoteric RnB production style. George has since turned his talents to working with other acts out of his home studio in New Malden, including producing Spice Girl Mel C and remixing Coldplay. Click here to listen to a playlist of George's work The Process of Production is presented by Lawrence Diamond and Bob Matthews. Lawrence cut his teeth playing and writing in Indie bands before finding international success and touring the world with his band CITIZENS! During that time he worked with a host of revered producers including Liam Howe, Mark Ralph and Alex Kapranos. Since the band ended in 2016 he's been using that experience to help other artists develop their careers as a writer and producer while continuing to release his own music under various different guises. Bob learned his trade as the producer and multi-instrumentalist in Electronic Pop duo Alpines, whose career spans 3 albums, releases on major and indie record labels, shows with Florence + The Machine, The xx, Emeli Sandé, and a top 20 hit 'Tidal Wave' in collaboration with Sub Focus. In recent years he has turned his focus to producing other acts and has a studio in Chiswick in West London. My guest this week is Tom Evans, a former BBC sound engineer who discovered that he could do much more than manipulate music and vocals. He can try to reverse-engineer the brain and figure out how to tap into creativity itself. The result was an indie publishing career that covers everything from hypnotherapy to metaphysics to fiction about the end of the world. And all with a cosmic soundtrack. In fact, this is Tom's music you're listening to now. I'll let the author and composer tell you the rest. We are starting season two with our feet planted firmly in 2021. I want to use this podcast to learn more about the world and the wonderful people who occupy it. I hope by following my curiosity, scratching my own itch, I can make something of value that will help expand how you see the world. The world of music is one I've never been super engaged in. I've never been ahead of the curve, I tend to find out about artists a few years after everyone else. I have the 80s Hits playlist on repeat on Spotify. Any vaguely cool music I like was collected in my early twenties. And I'm fine with that. I knew I officially became old when I looked at the red carpet to the last MET Gala and didn't know who most of the people were. I was excited to see Rihanna. But what was really grabbing my interest was the bevy of music talents who dominate the British music charts and are finding success all around the world. J-Hus. Kano. The rapper Pa Salieu topped the BBC Sound of 2021, an honour given to artists like Sam Smith, Michael Kiwanuka and Adele. While I don't know the scene well, I do know that art reflects society, and I want to know more about the Britain that these genres, rap, grime, drill, dancehall, reflect about celebrity and culture of this strange island in these strange, unsettling times. This week's guest is Aniefiok ‘Neef' Ekpoudom, a writer who focuses on the ties between British music and culture. His works spans a variety of formats but he caught my eye with his compelling, sensitively written profiles of some of the biggest names in British music today. There were two things I wanted to learn more about from Neef - firstly, what it means to profile celebrities in an age where they can choose to give away so much of their lives on social media, and why it's important to place them in a wider context of society. And secondly, I wanted to hear his thoughts on the music scene some of the biggest stars he's profiled are creating and coming from. SHOW NOTES:Follow Neef on Twitter here and see more of his work here on his websiteFind his Guardian pieces here Send host Lisa Golden your thoughts about the show onTwitter @lisajozi or @storytellerpod1Instagram @lisagoldenjozi or @storyteller_pod See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Estrenarte on fire.
Escuchar audio

English singer/songwriter and guitarist Lianne La Havas arrived in the early 2010s with a mostly acoustic and hushed hybrid of alternative folk and soul. Influenced by the likes of Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone, she found success with the release of her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, which reached number five in the U.K. and earned her a nomination for the BBC Sound of 2012 poll.
SEA GIRLS、「DO YOU REALLY WANNA KNOW?」
The Dublin band are quickly creating ripples in the musical rock-pool. Led by Eli Hewson the quartet started the year with an incredible accolade. Named on the shortlist of The BBC Sounds Of 2020. The highly prestigious accolade was described by Eli, "As a band it kind of turned us from selling on the street to being in Tesco!" Hewson, Robert Keating, Ryan McMahon and Josh Jenkinson bonded over a love of similar groups, taking in The Stone Roses, Joy Division, The Strokes, The Cure, Interpol, Depeche Mode and more. They have a diehard fanbase and their tracks have been streamed over 25 million times globally and sold over 10,000 tickets for their UK and European Tour. The excitement for this young band hit fever pitch. THEN... Fergal and the lads at Electric Picnic 2019 in pre-social distancing days! ...Coronavirus Strikes According to Eli, It was really tough because we were on such an amazing buzz, but we took the positives and Lockdown has inspired us to write a lot more. Working off Zoom has been very weird but we are now holed up in Quarantine together in London writing new songs Irish band @InhalerDublin were making HUGE strides in the music bizz, then Covid-19 hit.🇮🇪🎶@FergDarcy caught up with frontman Elijah Hewson to talk about their BBC Sound of 2020 nom, supporting @BlossomsBand on tour, making music in lockdown & more! 👀 pic.twitter.com/sJDay1SgpY — Today FM (@TodayFM) June 16, 2020 Check out the full podcast here: [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2020/06/22123453/ELI-HEWSON-INHALER-FULL.mp3"][/audio] 'Falling In' was filmed in isolation using Zoom.

Blending elements of jazz, hip-hop, and soulful bedroom electronica into a literate brand of singer/songwriter fare, Rex Orange County is the performance alias of English musician Alex O'Connor. O'Connor was still a teenager when he gained attention online in 2015 for his self-produced album, bcos u will never be free. He built upon his viral buzz with 2017's Apricot Princess, which cracked the Top Ten of Billboard's Independent Albums chart. As word of his distinctive style spread, he followed it up with songs like 2016's "Uno" and early 2017's "Best Friend" and "Sunflower" before releasing his second self-made LP, Apricot Princess, that April. Among his fans by that time was Tyler, the Creator, who featured Rex Orange County on two tracks from his Flower Boy album, released in July 2017. The following year, O'Connor finished second in the BBC Sound of 2018 poll behind Norwegian singer Sigrid. February 2019 saw the arrival of the bittersweet Valentine's Day-themed single "New House," which was followed in September by "10/10."
