 Michael has performed/collaborated with over 55 of Canada's esteemed performance creators/companies, working internationally and performing across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. His performances have earned him two (2) Dora Mavor Moore Awards for outstanding performance in dance. 

 Currently, Michael serves as Artistic Director at SummerWorks in Tkaronto, and as Programming Advisor for Festival of Dance Annapolis Royal, in Nova Scotia. Most recently, as Creative Director: Programming at Generator, he led the reimagination of the overall governance structure of the organization, moving towards a co-leadership framework. Chris Oh! is an international Kiwi Boylesque sensation his recent accolades include winning the Crown of Burlesque in Basel, Switzerland (2018) and ‘Most Dazzling Dancer’ at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas (2018). 2018 saw him Headlining shows and festivals across three continents alone, exposing his glittered thighs and sparkling personality to all who have encountered him. With over 13 years of dance and performing arts experience, Chris Oh! has taken the world by storm. He is the recipient of Best Boylesque New Zealand (2017/18), King of the New Zealand Burlesque Festival (2017), Grand Prix Award for the Le Bisou Français Festival Paris (2017), was a semi-finalist on the TV show New Zealand’s Got Talent (2012), and was Mr Gay World (2013).His performance career started in the night club scene where he would perform gender bending acts in drag, this work later encouraged him to study Ballet and Contemporary dance professionally. While porn studies delve into history and theory books in order to legitimize its position within academia, scholars can often times lose track of the most essential voices that offer us an important perspective on the industry, those of the porn performers themselves! In this episode, I talk with gay porn performer Chris Harder. Harder’s journey through the industry is an interesting one mostly due to the fact that he comes from a theater background. He studied theater and queer theory while going to school in North Dakota, so his porn performances reflect a journey of a young man coming to the big city who documents his sexual awakening via his onscreen performances. However, theatrical ambitions were not stifled by his porn career. In this interview, we talk about his one-man show that he wrote and stars in titled: Porn to be a Star. The show is a hilarious romp where he plays various fictional characters that reflect on his journey growing up in the Dakota plains, moving to the big city, and discovering a new side of himself by performing in porn. Harder is also one of the world’s leading boylesque performers. He teaches classes teaching people how to perform for burlesque theater and has traveled the world performing his act. In this interview we talk about how his burlesque work is intertwined with is porn performance, how is sexual inspirations influence his work, and how the queer theory that he learned in school still influences his work to this day. The Voodoo Carnival is a much-celebrated annual event here in Cincinnati. This week we're featuring an attendee interview/report from Lord Spencington, an individual who not only took part in the show but also took his clothes off for on stage for the very first time.
