https://www.michelledanner.comwww.allinfilms.com   Instagram michelledannerla  There aren't many people who can point to a career full of success as a performer, teacher, storyteller, entrepreneur, and expert. But Michelle Danner can. The legendary acting teacher and founder of the Creative Center for the Arts and the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory, Danner is also now well-established as a successful film director. Her last film,“Miranda's Victim,” stars Abigail Breslin, Luke Wilson, Ryan Phillippe, Emily VanCamp, Mireille Enos, Enrique Murciano, Brent Sexton, Josh Bowman, Sebastian Quinn, Taryn Manning, Nolan Gould, Dan Lauria, Kyle MacLachlan, Andy Garcia and Donald Sutherland. The film tells the true story of Trish Weir (Breslin) who was kidnapped and brutally raped by Ernesto Miranda. The subsequent trials went all the way to the Supreme Court and led to creation of the Miranda Rights. Up next for Danner is the comedy romance film “The Italians,” which stars Matthew Daddario (Shadowhunters), Rob Estes (Silk Stalkings), Perrey Reeves (Entourage), David DeLuise (Wizards of Waverly Place), Olivia Luccardi (It Follows), Lainie Kazan (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), and Abigail Breslin (Zombieland, Little Miss Sunshine). The film is currently playing at festivals around the country. A dedicated mom of two (one is an aspiring filmmaker), Danner still has her “day job” – overseeing the faculty of the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory, and conducting her weekly acting class. Michelle has worked privately with Christian Slater, Salma Hayek, Gerard Butler, Seth MacFarlane, Penelope Cruz, Chris Rock, Gabrielle Union, Zooey Deschanel, Henry Cavill, Isla Fisher and James Franco. A longtime student of legendary acting teachers like Stella Adler and Uta Hagen, Danner's eclectic approach (which she calls “The Golden Box”) allows actors the freedom to employ a wide variety of techniques. Raised in a show business family and with a deep appreciation for all of the performing arts, Danner also continues to run the boutique “Cinema at the Edge” film festival and is currently preparing to direct a new one-person play, Bonnie Culver's “Norris,” starring Anne Archer, based on the memoirs of the widow of writer Norman Mailer. Simply put, there's almost no one in the business who knows as much about acting and success as Michelle Danner – and her continued success in multiple creative fields makes her one of the most successful women working in the industry today. This week, Les chats with Dan Lauria and Patty McCormack about the Off-Broadway premiere of Just Another Day, a play about wonderful old friends who may not even know each other, but who relive and celebrate a life together...maybe. In Just Another Day, a comedy writer and a sophisticated poet in their seventies meet daily on a park bench to exchange wits and barbs, and wax nostalgic about old movies, all the while trying to figure out how they know – and love – each other. At least for that day. Directed by Eric Krebs, the two-member cast is Dan Lauria, who also wrote the show, alongside Patty McCormack. Between them, Lauria and McCormack have over 100 years of live theatrical experience, as well as over 150 television shows and films. Dan Lauria has appeared as a guest star in over seventy television episodic programs and more than twenty Movie Of The Week productions plus a score of motion picture credits. Dan is a very familiar face to the off-off, off and regional theatre scene having performed, written or directed over 50 professional stage productions. Dan is most recognized as the Dad on the highly acclaimed, Emmy winning, ABC television show, “The Wonder Years.” Patty McCormack brings to her role more than seven decades of stage, screen and television appearances. From her Oscar and Golden Globe nominated performance in The Bad Seed to work in the Oscar and Golden Globe Nominated Frost/Nixon and The Master; starring in her own television series “Peck's Bad Girl” to creating memorable characters on television favorites from “Dallas” to the “The Soprano's”; and her extensive theatrical work beginning with a Broadway debut at the age of six in Touchstone starring Ossie Davis. Patty McCormack brings her diverse range of talent to every role she plays. We talk about writing, acting, their connection to live theater, and much more. If you're in the New York area and want to catch the show (and you should) tickets are $49-$69 ($99 premium) and may be obtained at www.theater555.venuetix.com.

Tread Perilously's 450th podcast continues Ampersand Month with its first ever episode of Cagney & Lacey: "Ahead of the Game." Cagney & Lacey are called to the scene of a teenage basketball prodigy who dropped dead during a pick-up game. The cops all assume drug use, but his father insists he took no illicit substances. Suspicion moves to the basketball coach when it turns out the teen had steroids in his system. But all of this takes a back seat when Cagney's father gets drunk at the Emerald Ball and Lacey's house is broken into. Can she recover the candlestick her mother gave her? Erik and Justin cannot get over a special one-scene appearance by the great Brock Peters. Dan Lauria also makes drops in as a Queens-area cop. Stars Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly get high praise -- even if they take second fiddle in this episode to their loud and gruff lieutenant. Other notables include the actors who play the desk sergeant, Lacey's husband, and the suspect gym coach. Erik posits that the episode is low rated because nothing gets resolved while Justin praises that element of the script. 1980s scandals reappear and the pair once again wave the flag for The Shield as one of the best shows to ever appear on television.

Hey Wonderlings, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. In honor of Alley Mills’s Birthday today, I thought I’d re-release the podcast episode S2E6: Pottery Will Get You Nowhere, which aired on February 9, 1989. This is an updated version of it with clips of the amazing scenes. I hope you like it! In this episode Norma begins taking a pottery class and receives support from everyone except Jack. This episode really showcases Alley Mills’s acting and Dan Lauria’s as well. I mean all the episodes are great, but this is one that focused on Norma and her wants of being more than a wife and mother and having outside interests instead of always being in the kitchen. The fight scene between Norma and Jack is a little hard to watch just because honestly what kid wants to see their parents fight? I feel for the kids in this episode too. Kevin trying to rectify the situation by gluing the cup back together. Norma stands up to Jack and I gotta say watching this again the tears still fall. The ending scene where they make up in the kitchen is beautiful. Have a great day everyone!

Lauria has also appeared in a number of television shows since The Wonder Years, including How I Met Your Mother, Grey’s Anatomy, This is us and The Mentalist. Happy Friday Wonderlings, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. We finally get a Wayne episode. This is so heartbreaking. In my mind this is Jason Hervey’s Emmy Moment at the end with Jack. We get to see a whole other side of Wayne we didn’t know existed. Not to mention one of the few times he and Dan Lauria have a real scene together just the two of them. They both did great and we get to see Wayne be the wise older brother giving advice to Kevin. In S5E14: Private Butthead which aired on February 5, 1992. In this episode Wayne goes to take his SAT's, but shocks his family when he decides to try and join the army instead. With The Vietnam War still going on, the Arnolds are afraid that Wayne could be shipped off, and into the war. Join me next Friday for S5E15: Of Mastodons and Men which aired on February 12, 1992. In this episode Kevin starts spending most of his time with his new girlfriend, Julie, and her family, no longer allowing him to "hang out with the guys." When she all of a sudden wants him to "go steady", he begins to have second thoughts about their relationship. Have a great weekend everyone! Happy Friday Wonderlings, Angela Bowen here, the host of Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast. Also wishing Dan Lauria who plays Jack Arnold a Happy Birthday! I thought in honor of the anniversary of the Apollo 13 mission and it also being tax season I’d cover S3E19: Faith which aired on March 27, 1990. In this episode Kevin is forced to ponder life and death after he's asked to write his obituary for a school assignment. Jack Arnold is facing the annual burden of tax season, and Norma usually does most of the work, but she "faces death" when she loses all the receipts for the year. All the while, astronauts on Apollo 13 also face death in space. Join me next week when I cover S5E6: Triangle which aired on November 6, 1991. With a new girlfriend, Wayne actually becomes nicer and more likable. However, his new girlfriend seems to be more interested in Kevin. One lucky girl finds herself in the middle of an Arnold Bros Sandwich . Join me next week as poor Wayne gets shafted when his new girlfriend who likes em’ young finds a soul mate in Kevin. Yeah, there’s no way that would work out, breaking a guy’s heart just to turn around and date his younger brother. Not to mention she already met Jack and Norma and I can’t see this situation sitting well with them either. Sounds like a plot in soap opera and ends with Who’s the baby daddy on Maury. Maury: “We asked if you had made out with Wayne’s younger brother, you said no. The lie detector proved that was a lie. An Emmy winner in 2016 for The People vs O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, and Emmy nominee this year for this role on the massive NBC hit This Is Us, Sterling K. Brown has had quite a year. Last year we were captivated by the excellent FX drama The People vs O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, starring this week’s guest along with Sara Paulson and John Travolta, just to name a few. Brown portrayed prosecutor Christopher Darden with a performance that was complex, nerve wrecking and critically acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. Brown has had a long acting career with success on both stage and television but his role as Randall on This Is Us seems to have propelled him to the next level. His characters’ emotional journey and struggles have had audiences really connecting with the universal themes of family, joy and loss. The show ended the Spring season as the highest rated new network series among adults 18 to 49 with an impressive 12,8 million viewers watching the season 1 finale. This Is Us returns to NBC for its second season on September 26th with guest appearances by Sylvester Stallone, Dan Lauria and Debra Jo Rupp. Not to be missed! Brown can be seen in the upcoming film Marshall, alongside Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad and Kate Hudson. He is currently in production on three feature films; Marvel’s Black Panther, Fox’s The Predator, and Hotel Artemis, alongside Jodie Foster.

Complete with its very own public service announcement, Infinite Gestation dedicates an episode to The Man in the High Castle, covering the 1962 novel by Philip K. Dick, in addition to the series currently streaming on Amazon. Among the first of a multitude of works by various authors to cover an alternate history in which the United States has lost World War II, Dick's atmospheric novel comes in at 253 pages (a fabulous Sunday read) – compared to the ten episode series. During this episode, major and minor departures in characters, story and plot find healthy debate throughout obsessive encyclopedic references, the ripe suggestion that Amazon "Peter Jacksoned the shit" out of the novel and more spoilers than you can shake a stick at, all topped off with some "final" final thoughts. This week Will welcomes back Vietnam Veteran and actor Dan Lauria. Dan tells us a bit about his recent play in NJ and NY. They also discuss his time in Vietnam, as well as other Vietnam veterans and some of the situations they get into and how they band together. They discuss veterans going back to places they've deployed for unfinished business, and a bit about how people who don't support the wars should aim it all at the politicians instead of the troops themselves. Scott provides a very tiny bit of useful information. And our apologies to Ahmed for running out of time, hopefully next week.

This week Will and Scott would have talked to Dan Lauria, but they were late, so he left, so they talk to Vietnam Veteran Mike Sulsona. He tells us about some of his time in Vietnam during and well after the war. They also discuss his situation that went viral about Lowe's employees helping him fix his wheelchair, and generally being someone who helps people. They talk briefly about how a story can be spun into something completely different. Our apologies for not having enough time for Ahmed.
