Phil Bryant is a founding member of BSS Global where he provides strategic advice and business development services to some of the world's largest industry leaders. He serves on the executive advisory board of International Leaders Summit. America's Roundtable conversation with Governor Bryant brings to the forefront key policy issues including trade and tariffs, the urgency to advance tax reform, unleash energy independence and protect America's sovereignty. The timely discussion is focused on President Trump's policies and executive orders — and what it means for America's citizens, taxpayers, local communities and states. Governor Tate Reeves (R) and Speaker Philip Gunn (R). As previously noted by Laurie Todd-Smith in a 2023 Magnolia Tribune column on the making of the “Mississippi Miracle,” only 33 percent of third graders and 32 percent of 8th graders were reading proficiently on state tests that year. She led the governor's education policy team and is now the Assistant Secretary for Early Childhood Education at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Bryant presented lawmakers with an education vision titled “Framing Mississippi's Future” and in 2013, reforms such as the Literacy Based Promotion Act (3rd Grade Reading Gate), the Pre-K Collaborative, the Mississippi Charter School Act, Dyslexia Education Scholarships, and more were passed and signed into law. Mississippi unites with Israel at Jerusalem Leaders Summit (https://www.jns.org/mississippi-unites-with-israel-at-jerusalem-leaders-summit/) Jerusalem | Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant bounded on stage and, in his obvious Southern drawl, greeted the guests of the Jerusalem Leaders Summit, which took place last month at the Inbal hotel. Bryant was presented with the Distinguished Leadership Award for his efforts to strengthen the Israel-U.S. strategic partnership. He is a strong Israel advocate and his emotions were on full display when he addressed the crowd. “We have so many friends around the world,” he said, “but none as close, and none that I love more than Israel. I am called to be here. Perhaps sometimes we cannot explain exactly why, but that call, that voice, is stronger than any other that we hear, to come to Israel, to Jerusalem, to do what I can to strengthen this relationship.” The Third Jerusalem Leaders Summit held from Nov. 18-20, proved a unique event featuring leading voices who articulated principled solutions in addressing the 21st-century's economic concerns, global threats and security challenges. The parent organization—the International Leaders Summit, co-founded by Joel Anand Samy and Natasha Srdoc—brought together leaders from America, Britain, continental Europe, India and Israel to its inaugural Jerusalem Leaders Summit event in 2015, affirming the rule of law of civilization, based on shared principles and values. americasrt.com (https://americasrt.com/) https://summitleadersusa.com/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 X: @PhilBryantMS @americasrt1776 @ileaderssummit @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA @supertalk America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit. Our guest is The Right Honourable Kim Campbell, former Prime Minister of Canada. Kim is a powerhouse whose life has been a life of firsts: from the age of 16 when she became the first female student body president at Prince of Wales Secondary School, to the first female president for her freshman class at University of British Columbia, to holding elected office at all three levels of Canadian government and then becoming Canada's first (and only) female Prime Minister in 1993. Clearly, Kim has spent much of her life breaking barriers for women. She was the first woman to serve as Canada's Minister of Justice and Minister of National Defence, as well as the first woman to serve as Minister of Defence of a NATO member country. Ms. Campbell served as the Canadian Consul General in Los Angeles, taught at the Harvard Kennedy School and is a member of the International Women's Forum, a global organization of women of significant and diverse achievement, and served as its global president (2003-2005). She was inducted into the IWF Hall of Fame in 2008. Kim Campbell is also a founding member of the Club de Madrid, now the largest international forum of former heads of government and state who work to promote democratic values. After serving as Acting President (2002), Secretary General (2004-2006), Vice President and a member of the Board (2007- 2011), she returned to the Board in 2019. Among her involvement in international organizations focused on democracy and security issues, Kim Campbell chaired the Steering Committee for the World Movement for Democracy in Washington, D.C. from 2008-2015, and is a Trustee of the International Center for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence (ICSR) at King's College, London. Ms. Campbell became an international leader of leaders as Chair of the Council of Women World Leaders (1999-2003) and is currently a member and Chair Emerita. The Council's membership is composed of women who hold, or have held, the office of President or Prime Minister. Ms. Campbell's most notable achievement in recent years has been the design and launch of a ground-breaking leadership program for undergraduates at the University of Alberta: The Peter Lougheed Leadership College. She served as its Founding Principal from 2014-2018. In 2016 Kim Campbell was appointed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to serve as Chairperson of the Independent Advisory Board for Supreme Court of Canada Judicial Appointments, a role she has reprised three times since, most recently in spring 2021. In 2021, Ms. Campbell joined the board of Toronto-based Glen Gould Foundation (glengould.ca) and the advisory board of The Vancouver Anti-Corruption Institute. VACI is a project of The International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy (ICCLR), which was created during Ms. Campbell's tenure as Minister of Justice. Also in 2021, Ms. Campbell accepted an invitation to become a fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of arts, manufactures and commerce (thersa.org), which was founded in 1754 in England. Additionally, Ms. Campbell received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the International Leadership Association (ILA), for her significant contributions to the understanding and practice of effective leadership which has had an exceptional impact internationally. Kim Campbell lives with her husband - pianist, actor, playwright, composer and producer Hershey Felder - in Florence, Italy. Join us as Kim Campbell speaks candidly on issues related to leadership, international politics, democratization, climate change, gender, Canadian/American relations and much more. A nationally recognized thought leader, Bernard Franklin completed the Hoffman Process in June 2022. As Bernard shares, he was a man who had blocked his emotions, feelings, and energy, and "all of those channels were ready to explode." He was shaky. He wasn't comfortable in his own skin. And having arrived at the world's best educational institution and at the height of his career, he found himself profoundly needing something he could not yet name. He found it at the Hoffman Process. At Bernard's Process: Bernard beautifully shares a story from the first night of his Process. In the first few hours, something did not sit right with him. Old childhood memories were triggered. At that moment, Bernard spoke up from his belly. He said what he couldn't say as a child. And at this moment, he was met by his Process teacher with kindness, gentleness, and the invitation to look deeper. Bernard stayed and had a profoundly transformative experience. His story is an example of how surrender to the Process does not imply or insist on acquiescence. The recurring theme woven throughout this rich conversation with Bernard and Sharon is that of healing the wound left by a father who could not love his son in the way his son needed. Bernard takes us into the journey of healing his relationship with his father and in turn with his own masculinity. Through his Process, Bernard was able to truly embrace the reality of his parents' lives as they were, not as he'd wished they'd been. In this embrace, he found a deep and lasting compassion for both his parents. Consequently, the direction of his life's work has changed. After integrating the work of the Process, Bernard realized he must follow a new path. He is now bringing his lifetime of work and his open, vulnerable heart to what he names "our world's toughest men." Content Warning: This episode does mention abuse and might not be suitable for all audiences. More about Bernard Franklin: Dr. Bernard Franklin is a nationally recognized thought leader on issues confronting urban trauma and violence, mental health, resilience, boys' and mens' development, and K-12 and higher education issues. He is the Managing Director of Uncornered, a Boston-based organization transforming urban communities into violence-free neighborhoods. Bernard earned an MS in Counseling and Behavioral Studies from the University of South Alabama. He obtained a Ph.D. in Counseling and Higher Education Administration, with an outside emphasis in family studies from Kansas State University. Bernard earned a master's Professional Training Certificate focused on the trauma/resilience theory model of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) from Texas Christian University. He has been a speaker, taught courses, and consulted K-12 and higher education organizations on social-emotional teaching and learning, trauma, attachment disorder, resilience, and neuroscience. Bernard served as Chaplin and a member of the NFL Kansas City Chiefs professional counseling team. He is a member of the distinguished advisory board of The Center for Law, Brain & Behavior at Harvard. Bernard is a widowed and proud father of a daughter and three sons; and has seven adorable grandchildren. Discover more about and connect with Bernard on LinkedIn. Clint Hatton has lived a multi-faceted life that has been marked by numerous challenges. He faced difficulties growing up with a mother who had suicidal tendencies that at times put his own life at risk. In his late twenties, he battled addiction and went through a divorce. However, he went on to become a pastor. Later on, he experienced heartbreak when his 17-year-old son died in a tragic plane crash. In his marriage to Amárillys, the couple faced a miscarriage and the premature births of two sons due to a pregnancy disease that threatened their lives and hers. Deeb Salem, MD, FACP, FACC, FAHA, is the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. He has had a distinguished career as an academic cardiologist, serving as the Chief of Cardiology at Tufts from 1987 to 1995, and was then appointed as the Physician-in-Chief in 1999. Dr. Salem was the founding president of the New England Affiliate of the American Heart Association. His academic accomplishments include over 170 scientific publications. He's a recognized national expert in coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and congestive heart failure. He's a member of the National Medical Honor Society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Among Dr. Salem's honors are the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Boston University School of Medicine, the Distinguished Faculty Award from the Tufts University School of Medicine, and the Paul Dudley White Award and Distinguished Leadership Award from the American Heart Association. Today, Dr. Salem shares his golden rule of medicine : To make sure a patient feels better after seeing you than they did before. And that comes from a combination of having a great patient-doctor relationship and being the most competent physician you can be. He emphasizes the role of passion in life as being the key ingredient that will keep us going at times we feel exhausted. And most importantly, to enjoy the ride. Pearls of Wisdom: 1. Rather than shying away from hard work, match it with passion. The passion drives the hard work that leads to fulfillment—rather than burnout. 2. There is something more important than a good doctor-patient relationship alone: Competence. And: That the patient feels better after they see the physician than before. 3. Have fun along the way. Have a sense of humor, collect stories and experiences, and share them with others. Enjoy the ride, and pass it along to others, so we can all crack a smile when we most need it.

Airy USA and Historic Germantown as a community champion. Ken’s mission is to revitalize neighborhoods by renovating vacant, deteriorated properties along Philadelphia’s commercial corridors. He believes that you can do well by doing good. How to Build Your Residential and Commercial Real Estate Empire? Ken Weinstein starts off explaining how he got started in real estate by seeing problems and situations in the community and trying to find solutions to them. Blight was something Ken was 100% against which is why he started the Jumpstart program. He explains how he wanted to find developers to slow down or stop blight as a whole. “I am willing to take risks to make the world better” Ken says. In this episode Ken shares how he got into real estate. 30 years ago, living in Fishtown, Ken was really inspired by the city of Philadelphia. Watching his landlady at the time renovate 6 properties by herself gave Ken the assurance that he would be able to do the same. Although it took a while to aquire his first property after deciding real estate was an interest. “I saw a lot of opportunity in the Germantown area” Ken explains… “You need good market conditions, you need to see price points”. Ken then moves on to sharing how and why he was able to quit his day job and do real estate full-time. Having enough cash flow that it makes sense and to be able to hire staff is the only way he was able to pursue his real estate career. “It took me about 7 years to get me to the point where i want to leave my day job” - Ken Weinstein. Over the years Ken learned that real estate makes you better at your job and you are a better business owner/employer. One of the biggest points made in this episode is the difference between residential and commercial real estate in the eyes of one the biggest developers in Philly. “You should ALWAYS start in residential, that should be your ground level… it’s an easier development for anyone to understand and commercial should be long term” - Ken W.
