Cassandra Madison and Julia Tinetti met working at the same bar in their 20s and were struck by how similar they looked. Their adoption records didn't match, but a surprise gift later revealed the extraordinary truth. From the moment they started chatting, Cassandra and Julia quickly realised they had lots in common: both had been adopted as babies, both grew up in Connecticut, and both had tattoos of the Dominican Republic flag. Their physical resemblance and connection was so strong that coworkers and customers joked they must be related, especially as they regularly mistook one for the other. Cassandra and Julia embraced the idea, even referring to themselves as sisters. They went so far as to compare adoption papers – but when the details didn't match, the whole matter was put to bed. Years later, when Cassandra received a genetic test as a Christmas gift, she ended up finding her birth family. In the process, long-held secrets emerged and revelations which pointed back, unexpectedly, to Julia.Presenter: Asya Fouks Producer: Emily NaylorLives Less Ordinary is a podcast from the BBC World Service that brings you the most incredible true stories from around the world. You Have to Meet My Friends is the podcast series where I go live, hit the call button, and find out in real time who's actually a real friend—because they have no idea they're about to be on a podcast. It's unscripted, unpredictable, and built on one simple question: who's going to answer… and what happens when they do?Welcome to the wildest social experiment on my show. No guest prep. No calendar invites. No safety net. Just me, my phone, and a list of people who may or may not pick up. And yeah—sometimes we get skunked. Straight to voicemail. Crickets. Ego check. But when someone answers? That's where the magic lives. These are real conversations with real people, caught in real moments—business builders, dream chasers, old friends, new connections—all dropped into the spotlight with zero warning. What comes out is honesty, humor, perspective, and those “you can't script this” stories that remind us what connection actually feels like. This series is about more than surprise calls—it's about energy. It's about showing up without a script and trusting that something meaningful will meet you on the other side of discomfort. Sometimes it's hilarious. Sometimes it's deep. Every time, it's real.In this episode, you'll experience:The unpredictability of live, unscripted callsAuthentic conversations that cut through the noiseMoments of connection that turn into momentumA reminder that the best things in life don't come scheduledIf you've ever wondered what would happen if you just picked up the phone and leaned into the moment… this is your show.Tap in, subscribe, and turn on notifications—because the next call could be the one that changes everything.
So I thought we were building something based on trust until I found out that my girlfriend is still hanging out with the exact same guy she used to cheat on her ex with. She honestly thinks I am being insecure, but I told her that I won't just sit around and wait for history to repeat itself while she acts like a total Karen about my boundaries. It is just the most entitled thing I have ever heard for her to expect me to be cool with her grab-and-go friendship with a literal homewrecker, and she seriously figured I would just ignore the massive red flag waving right in front of my face. And then the whole thing exploded when I officially ended it and told her she can go be with him full-time if he is so important. She went into a full-blown meltdown and started crying that I am throwing away seven months over nothing, but it felt like a total win of ProRevenge for my own self-respect when I walked out the door and blocked her on everything. Watching her realize that she won't be able to keep me as the stable backup while she plays games with her old flame was the best decision I have made in a long time. She can't believe I actually followed through with the breakup, but I'm not about to be the next guy featured in her cheating highlights. It is honestly wild how some people think they can keep their toxic past alive and well while trying to start something new with you. We see these kinds of double standards all the time, and it is always a good day when someone finally chooses their peace of mind over a relationship that was doomed from the start. In front of an audience at the Napa Valley StreamFest, one of TV's most prolific creators reflects on being fired early in his career from 'Boy Meet World,' 'The Nanny' and 'Friends,' how he wound up co-creating and running 'Spin City' while in his 20s, the happy accidents that led to 'Scrubs' and 'Ted Lasso,' and why his Apple TV+ Emmy contender is being extended beyond its original three-season plan. The spring Classics campaign has come to an end and the Giro d'Italia is just around the corner. To bridge the gap between the two, and with Daniel Friebe absent as he prepares for the Giro, Lionel Birnie is joined by Tudor Pro Cycling's Larry Warbasse to wrap up the first part of the season, look ahead to the first Grand Tour of the year and react to some huge sponsorship news which may help Ineos Grenadiers challenge for the Tour de France once again. In part one Larry updates on the Tour of the Alps, where he and a lot of riders were fine-tuning their form ahead of the Giro and one of his teammates made a rapid and successful transition from speed skating to elite level cycling with a stage win. He also talks about his version of the all-day-breakfast and heat training indoors. In the second part, Lionel reports back from the big reveal which confirmed a new title sponsor for Ineos Grenadiers. From the Giro d'Italia they will be Netcompany-Ineos thanks to backing from a Danish IT company that is pumping in a figure thought to be around €100m over five years. The target is for the team to win an eighth Tour de France in the next five years, but its the introduction of Netcompany's AI software, Pulse, which makes this more than just a sponsorship deal. Pulse, which is used at several major airports, including Heathrow, will be used to help the team make 'better decisions more often'. We ask whether its use can extend beyond logistics and training and start to influence racing strategy and tactics. In the final part, we tie up all the loose ends from the spring and turn our attentions towards the Giro before handing over to Daniel and co for daily coverage of the Corsa Rosa, which starts in Bulgaria on Friday, May 8.Image courtesy of Netcompany-Ineos.Follow us on social media:Twitter @cycling_podcastInstagram @thecyclingpodcastFriends of the PodcastSign up as a Friend of the Podcast at thecyclingpodcast.com to listen to new special episodes every month plus a back catalogue of more than 300 exclusive episodes. The 11.01 CappuccinoOur regular email newsletter is now on Substack. What happens when you call people live… and they have no idea they're about to be on a podcast? That's exactly what went down in this episode of You Have to Meet My Friends—and what unfolded was raw, real, and ridiculously inspiring. In this episode, I dial up a couple of absolute legends—no script, no warning, just real life showing up in real time.First, you'll meet Jacob. A young entrepreneur who built a thriving business in Puerto Rico, checked the box on his first home… and then had it all taken by a hurricane. What do you do when life hits reset? Jacob moved in with his grandparents in Pennsylvania, started fresh at SportClips, and within THREE WEEKS became an assistant manager. Within a year? Manager. That's not luck—that's grit meeting opportunity. Then there's Jose. Nineteen years old. Five siblings. Lost his father at just 10. From humble beginnings in Mexico to winning a national SportClips competition—earning himself a scholarship and proving that resilience isn't just a word, it's a lifestyle. And just when you think it couldn't get better… Julie Vargas (yes, employee #1 of the billion-dollar brand SportClips) jumps in and does something powerful: she speaks life into both of these young men in real time.We talk a lot about “speaking life” as a concept—but this episode lets you feel it in action. No theory. Just truth, impact, and moments that matter. This one will stick with you.

Send me a some feedback! In this episode, Mike sits down with Jordan Black to explore what it really looks like to build a life aligned with your design, not just your conditioning. From leaving a secure teaching career to building and scaling a multi-territory franchise business, Jordan shares how vision, courage, and internal growth created a level of freedom most people only talk about. This conversation goes beyond business tactics and into identity, emotional intelligence, and the rewiring required to step into a bigger life. They also dive into the contrast between building from survival versus creation, and how Jordan's journey—from franchise success to launching (and exiting) his own startup—ultimately led him to clarity about his path. Now helping others find aligned franchise opportunities, Jordan embodies what it means to evolve, expand, and follow what's true. This episode is a powerful look at how internal work drives external results, and how alignment unlocks both freedom and fulfillment. Key Takeaways: Your life expands in direct proportion to your willingness to grow internally. Vision, emotional intelligence, and nervous system regulation are what actually create external success and freedom. Building from alignment creates fulfillment, while building from fear or conditioning creates pressure—even if it looks successful on the outside. Scaling a business requires letting go of control and developing trust in others, which forces personal growth and leadership evolution. Franchising can be a powerful vehicle for freedom because it removes much of the guesswork and allows you to build on a proven foundation. True expansion comes from moving out of survival mode and into creation mode—where you're no longer reacting to life, but consciously designing it. Notable Quotes: “It's taking someone and getting them as aligned with who they are and their natural gifts, their natural design, their natural talents as humanly possible.” “You're not going to get up every morning and work towards something unless you've got the end in mind.” “I used to feel like my business could fall apart at any time… and I haven't had those thoughts in years now.” “You either play small… or you try to go big, and it takes a lot of money, a lot of time, and there's no guarantees.” “80% of the work was internal, 20% external.” Call to Action:Connect with Jordan Black through his website: https://beyondaw2.com/Jordan's Business Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beyondaw2/Make sure you're subscribed to the Inner Wealth Podcast so you don't miss what's coming next. You might know the show, but do you know how rich Jennifer Aniston is because of it?
Who has more pet peeves, Hugh Grant or Matty? ‘Friends' ended in 2004, but you won't believe how much the cast is still raking in every year in residuals.
