On Friday's Mark Levin Show, WJNO's Brian Mudd fills in for Mark. If you read the news, do you feel your intelligence has been insulted? There's an old saying: those who can't do, teach. When it comes to the media, those who don't know, report. It's been a great week for the U.S. tanker traffic which has almost returned to normal pre-war levels, the price of oil has returned to normal for summer, and the Trump Administration has brokered an agreement between the U.S., Israel and Lebanon. Yet according to the media, the world is terrible. There may be two sides to every story, but there's only one side to facts. So if you think your intelligence has been insulted, you're right. Then, the Senate still can't get its act together and pass the SAVE America Act. Why is this important? Voter fraud has always existed. In Florida, the DOJ announced three arrests of non-citizens for voting in federal elections. Three cases in one week in a red state. How much worse is voter fraud in sanctuary states and cities? With the midterm elections coming up, and voter ID being a 90/10 issue with Americans, we still can't get the SAVE America Act across the finish line. Also, the election integrity project ranks election integrity all over the world. The U.S. scores 54. California's score is 35, lower than Haiti at 37. Between mail-in voting, ballot harvesting and other shenanigans, no wonder they're still counting votes in the CA primary. When you have blue states like CA bent on lowering election standards, federal minimum requirements, like voter ID, must come into play. Finally, the extent of the Democrat's long game is underappreciated. Starting with Saul Alinsky in the 1960s, then with the elections of Bernie Sanders in 1990, Barack Obama in 2004, The Squad in 2018, and Zohran Mamdani in 2025, the Democrats have moved further and further to the hard left. Trump is right: the midterm elections have never been more important. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Donald Trump cancels the signing of a landmark bipartisan housing bill at the last minute, saying he won't approve it until Congress passes the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote and photo ID to cast a ballot. Jon and Dan react to the President's decision and the Republican caucus's angry reaction to it, then turn to Tuesday's primary elections, where three DSA-aligned candidates won in New York City, and discuss JD Vance's attempts to charm Rupert Murdoch … and his own wife. Then, Gina Hinojosa, the Democratic gubernatorial nominee in Texas, stops by the studio to talk to Jon about what it'll take to unseat Governor Greg Abbott.
On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, WJNO's Brian Mudd fills in for Mark. Two major SCOTUS decisions on border security today. First, the Court ruled 6-3 that you have to be in the U.S. to make an asylum claim. In the other, the Court again ruled 6-3 that the Trump Administration can revoke temporary protection status from Syrian and Haitian migrants. The three liberal justices tried to argue that you don't actually have to be "in" the U.S. to make an asylum claim, and "temporary" actually means indefinitely. Does the rule of law mean anything to these justices? Could it be that they are radical progressives who don't know right from wrong and want to abolish Constitutional law? Then, most people today don't appreciate the historically great leadership we have or how much has been accomplished in a short time. Since January, he has split off Venezuela from China and disabled the Iranian terror regime and their ability to build nuclear weapons and start World War III. The focus has been on affordability. Consider that 100 years ago, during the Roaring Twenties, people thought things were great. Now, average life expectancy and household income are higher, we have things like indoor plumbing, electricity and A/C, and China has been kneecapped thanks to Trump cutting off their supply of oil. We need to appreciate just how good we have it. Finally, there is a new Cold War...and we're losing. Whoever wins the AI race will be the new superpower. China has excess data center capacity, yet the only thing Americans are more united on in their opposition to data centers is voter ID. China just announced they've built the world's most powerful supercomputer. It's simple: if China out-computes us, they defeat us. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

In today's episode, Drew, Ryan, and Tom break down a chaotic week in American politics and economics, starting with the biggest housing affordability bill in decades and the private equity cap that has both parties on board, and why Trump is refusing to sign it as leverage to force a vote on the Save America Act. The conversation digs into the heart of the disagreement: voter ID, the census, and the long term question of who gets to vote, with the guys mapping out exactly where their base assumptions collide on immigration, asylum, birthright citizenship, and the four Supreme Court rulings that just landed, including the Monsanto glyphosate decision, the Hawaii gun case, and the TPS deportations. From there they tackle New York City's rent freeze and the historical disaster of rent control, inflation hitting 4.1%, and Thomas Massie accusing Trump of communism over government stakes in Intel, MP Materials, and Lithium Americas. The discussion widens into the deeper machine underneath all of it: why houses cannot stay affordable in an inflationary regime, why 70 percent of millennials lean socialist, the French Revolution warning about resentment versus greed, the controversial idea that government has started behaving like a cancer, and a proposal to invest every American in the S&P 500 from birth. They close on the economics of GTA 6 clearing 3 billion in pre sales and why AI is about to reshape the entire gaming industry. A wide ranging look at the choices defining tomorrow.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

What should have been a bipartisan housing bill touting affordability has instead become a fight over the Save America Act. Representative Anna Paulina Luna is leading a House conservative blockade, freezing routine procedural votes until the Senate takes up the Trump-backed elections bill. The problem is that the Senate has no path forward. The bill doesn't have the votes, and the Senate isn't about to let the House dictate its agenda. In the meantime, House Republicans are unable to move other priorities, including appropriations and next week's defense policy bill.Luna's leverage comes from one place: Donald Trump. The president canceled the planned signing of the bipartisan housing bill, saying he would not move forward until the Save America Act passes. House Republicans believe Luna's close relationship with Trump is what's keeping the blockade alive. Mike Lee has also pushed Trump to hold the line, arguing that Republican voters need something to get excited about before the midterms and that the Save America Act is that issue.Politics Politics Politics is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. The divide inside the Republican Party is becoming clearer. Luna, Lee, and the hardliners argue that if voters gave Republicans the White House and both chambers of Congress, they expect them to fight for election legislation, not immediately explain why it can't pass. The Senate's answer is that the bill doesn't have sixty votes. Their view is that Republicans can either spend weeks arguing over a bill that cannot pass or move on to things they can actually accomplish.I think this has been mishandled by both Speaker Johnson and Leader Thune. Whether or not the entire Save America Act could ever get sixty votes, there are pieces of it that are broadly popular with the American public, particularly voter ID provisions. Those could have been broken out and forced into separate fights. Instead, Republicans have backed themselves into a corner where the House is frozen, the Senate has no incentive to move, and everyone is arguing over tactics instead of making progress. My expectation is that Trump ultimately signs the housing bill. This feels like walking away from the table before signing in the hope of getting something else. He wants movement on the Save America Act. I just don't think he's going to get it.Meanwhile, Iran's Revolutionary Guard reportedly struck the Singapore-flagged cargo ship Ever Lovely as it transited the Strait of Hormuz, raising new doubts about the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding and the security of commercial shipping through the waterway. No casualties were reported, but the ship was damaged and the International Maritime Organization paused evacuation efforts while reassessing security. My biggest question isn't whether the memorandum itself is good or bad. It's whether any agreement can actually be enforced if there isn't one clear center of leadership in Iran. I honestly don't know who's making the calls, and I'm not sure if anyone else really has a good idea either.Chapters00:00:00 - Intro00:02:57 - SAVE America Blockade00:11:54 - Iran00:14:16 - Asylum Ruling00:16:29 - James vs. Mamdani00:19:52 - Interview with Tom Merritt01:06:40 - Wrap-up This is a public episode. I recently played both a street party celebrating the New York Knicks Championship as well as a rally for Bernie Zohran Mamdani, Bernie Sanders and three future members of congress. While neither recording came out, this mix captures the general spirit of both sets as well as the general optimistic spirit of NYC in the current moment.
Congress overwhelmingly approved a bipartisan bill aimed at lowering the cost of buying a home, and President Trump was set to sign it Wednesday. But then Trump announced he won't sign the bill until Congress passes a strict voter ID law. We discuss what to make of Trump's apparent reversal and how it affects Republicans' efforts at retaining control of Congress this November. Dave Rubin of "The Rubin Report" gives a first look to the stories you need to know to start your day including Senate Republicans openly criticizing President Donald Trump after he unexpectedly blocked the bipartisan 21st Century Road to Housing package and tied it to the SAVE Act voter ID legislation, sparking frustration from senators including Thom Tillis, John Cornyn, and John Kennedy who warn the votes currently do not exist to pass the measure; the legal battle over the murder conviction of Karmelo Anthony escalating as a team of prominent civil rights attorneys, including Texas NAACP President Gary Bledsoe and lawyers from Ben Crump Law, move to appeal Anthony's conviction in the killing of Austin Metcalf; and JP Morgan Chase firing executive Angie Baez after a viral video from the New York Knicks championship parade showed her dumping trash into the street while attempting to take a Knicks-themed garbage can as a souvenir, and much more.
This week, the AI industry continues its speedrun toward becoming the tech equivalent of a late-stage casino. Elon Musk insists reports of aid-cut-related deaths don't exist despite mountains of evidence, SpaceX stock slides far enough to knock him out of the trillionaire club, and a startup is literally suing the U.S. government because Anthropic's Fable 5 model got turned off after three whole days of availability. Once again, we revisit the First Commandment of Grumpy Old Geeks: never build your company on someone else's platform.Meanwhile, gas stations are being accused of using AI to coordinate prices, corporations are discovering that AI tokens cost actual money, and a Microsoft researcher used goats in Age of Empires II to demonstrate that maybe, just maybe, people are projecting way too much intelligence onto chatbots. The goats emerge with their reputations intact. The AI industry, less so.The workforce bloodbath rolls on as Oracle quietly sheds 21,000 employees while blaming AI, Norway bans generative AI for elementary school students after discovering that children should probably learn to read before outsourcing their homework to robots, and the FCC flirts with rules that could effectively kill anonymous burner phones in the name of fighting scams. Over at Meta, an employee surveillance program accidentally exposed sensitive data to the entire company because of course it did, while Zuckerberg continues his relentless quest to strap cameras to everyone's face and call it progress. Add in YouTube settling another social-media-harm case, Chrome finally kneecapping traditional ad blockers, and prediction markets spreading across tech like mold in a college apartment, and it's becoming increasingly clear that every bad idea eventually gets funded. In transportation news, autonomous vehicles continue demonstrating that "mostly works" is not a reassuring phrase when attached to two tons of moving metal. A Tesla on Autopilot crashes into a home and kills a grandmother, Rivian faces lawsuits over self-driving promises its hardware allegedly can't fulfill, and Waymo recalls thousands of robotaxis after they developed an unfortunate habit of driving into closed freeway construction zones. Elsewhere, Elon and Bezos are eyeing billions in broadband subsidies, Polymarket is accused of paying influencers to fake betting videos and climate data archivists are preserving public information from political interference.Media recommendations include The Mandalorian, Silo, Strange New Worlds, Dungeon Crawler Carl, and a reminder that Firefox may soon be the last refuge for people who enjoy both the internet and ad blockers. Some weeks the future feels exciting. This week it mostly feels like an extended warranty scam.Sponsors:DeleteMe - Get 20% off your DeleteMe plan when you go to JoinDeleteMe.com/GOG and use promo code GOG at checkout.Private Internet Access - Go to GOG.Show/vpn and sign up today. Greg Kelly Reports | June 24, 2026 - The episode opens with President Trump launching the America 250 celebration in Washington, framing it as a patriotic reset built around restored monuments, rebuilt public spaces, military pride, and a renewed push for national confidence. - A major focus is Trump's Capitol Hill push for the SAVE Act, with the show stressing that voter ID and proof-of-citizenship rules are now urgent as Republicans try to stop noncitizen voting before the 2026 map hardens. - The show warns that New York's Democratic primaries have elevated another wave of socialist, anti-Israel, and anti-police candidates, arguing that the party's center is collapsing under the pressure of its own radical base. - The media is accused of obsessing over the reflecting pool and trivial anti-Trump narratives while ignoring deeper issues like public disorder, election integrity, and the ideological extremism spreading through blue-city politics. - The episode closes on a practical win for the administration, pointing to falling oil and gas prices as evidence that Trump's handling of the Iran conflict is already easing market pressure and delivering relief to consumers. Insects are vital ecosystem engineers in our gardens. Small but mighty, they help create healthy, balanced environments where plants can thrive. Of course, not all insects are flying or scuttling above ground all the time, so to mark Insect Week, we're going underground with RHS Principal Entomologist Dr Hayley Jones to explore the beetle larvae living in our soils. We'll learn how to identify the species that benefit our gardens, and what to do about those that can cause problems. Bee expert Rachel Richards from conservation charity Buglife joins us to reveal the remarkable diversity of solitary bees that may be nesting right outside your door, and share simple ways to support these important pollinators. And finally, as the heatwave continues, we turn our attention to a seasonal favourite: strawberries. RHS Horticultural Advisor Chris Taylor shares his top tips for growing healthy, productive plants and getting the very best harvest. Plus a roundup of top tips based on the latest enquiries on rhs.org.uk Email your questions to podcasts@rhs.org.uk Host: Gareth Richards Contributors: Hayley Jones, Rachel Richards, Chris Taylor Links: How to help hoverflies Vine weevil Chafers in garden borders Ground beetle larvae and other predatory gardener allies More in depth ID features for chafers and stag beetles Previous episode on Hoverfly Heroes with Josie Stuart How to help hoverflies Strawberries

President Trump took Senate Republicans to task over the SAVE America Act, exposing a growing divide within the GOP over election integrity and leadership. Todd examines the heated confrontation involving Bill Cassidy, the debate over the Senate filibuster, and why requiring proof of citizenship and voter ID has become such a contentious issue. He also explains what is actually included in the SAVE America Act, why conservatives see it as common-sense election reform, and what this fight says about the future of the Republican Party ahead of the midterm elections. If election security matters, this is a conversation you won't want to miss.
In this episode, I sat down with my friend Heather Burright, who runs the Learning for Good podcast, and we got into our own career journeys, how we've invested in our own growth, and what it actually takes to build confidence and find your voice as an ID or L&D professional. If you've ever felt like you're doing great work, but still struggling to get a seat at the table, this one's for you.
In this episode, I'll discuss the onslaught of radical communist ideas being pushed into New York and the foot soldiers that are doing it. Also, the SAVE Act comes to a climax today and we'll see what Donald Trump can do about passing it. President Trump is having lunch on Capitol Hill today with Senate Republicans, after four GOP senators broke with him to advance a resolution pushing to end the war with Iran and Trump's clashes with Majority Leader John Thune over the filibuster, voter ID, and the president's handling of the war with Iran.Congress passed the largest housing bill in decades last night with strong bipartisan support, aiming to make homeownership more attainable by cracking down on corporate investors buying single-family homes. And in New York, democratic socialist candidates scored big wins in congressional primaries, including upsets backed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani, raising new questions about how far left the Democratic Party will go as it tries to retake the House in November.Want more analysis of the most important news of the day, plus a little fun? On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, Ben Ferguson fills in for Mark. Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico presents himself as a moderate, faith-based Christian pastor who rejects Christian nationalism. Talarico is actually a radical progressive activist who weaponizes Christianity for left-wing politics. Talarico's radical positions - God is non-binary, there are more than two biological sexes, the Bible affirms abortion access, and poverty/pollution/prison equal violence. This man is not fit for the Senate. Later, President Trump selected Kash Patel to combat waste, fraud, and abuse, is proving to be an excellent choice as evidenced by a record-setting $6.5 billion healthcare fraud crackdown charging around 450 defendants, primarily in Medicaid and hospice schemes. Officials emphasized unprecedented state-federal cooperation across 45 states and attorneys general, building complete case files for swift law enforcement action—the first such unified effort in modern history. Afterward ,a Biden-appointed federal judge issued a 75-page opinion shutting down the Trump administration's modified SAVE system database, created via executive order to verify citizenship or immigration status of registered voters through DHS and SSA records. This activist decision promotes lawlessness and voter fraud by blocking checks on non-citizens, dead people, and illegal immigrants, especially ahead of midterms. The same judge also blocked an FTC antitrust probe into Media Matters and barred deportation of unaccompanied migrant minors for family reunification abroad. Meanwhile, Senator Mike Lee advances the SAVE America Act, requiring government-issued ID to vote—supported by over 80% of Americans across parties to make voting easy but cheating hard—though four anti-Trump Republicans hinder it in the Senate, where Trump is pushing for passage. On June 18, 2026, Laurel County Sheriff's deputies noticed a vehicle parked illegally in an "Employees Only" spot. What should have been a mundane encounter with the car's occupants, 51-year-old Tricia Croley and 48-year-old Damon Bennett, quickly spiraled into viral internet fame. After Croley handed over suspected narcotics and a fake ID, a search of the vehicle uncovered a black canvas bag that featured what might be the least effective criminal cover story of all time: a printed label reading "Definitely not a bag full of drugs." --For early, ad free episodes and monthly exclusive bonus content, join our Patreon! Dan from Pirate Chain joins the show to break down what makes Pirate Chain the most private cryptocurrency by any objective measure, what is coming with the new Unified Light Wallet, and why the project avoided the Zcash Orchard vulnerability entirely. Firo project steward Ruben Yap also weighs in with a detailed and honest breakdown of what actually happened with the Zcash exploit and what it means for the future of privacy protocol design. Sal and Mark also get into Elon Musk becoming a trillionaire, why the left fundamentally misunderstands wealth, and the economics of hoarding money in a way that will make your head spin. Then the show pivots to a genuinely alarming development: the UK's sweeping social media ban requiring facial recognition, banking data, or ID to access platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Sal and Mark break down why this has nothing to do with protecting children and everything to do with building a digital ID infrastructure for mass surveillance, and what tools you can use right now to fight back. In this Brand Highlight, Kevin Surace, CEO of TokenCore, catches up on a market that has accelerated faster than even his team expected. Biometric-assured identity has gone from the fringes to the core, and the clearest example is the video call: on Zoom or Teams, there is often no reliable way to know whether the person on screen is real, human, or an AI avatar. Surace points to cases where employees wired money because a synthetic version of their boss appeared to ask for it. That risk is pushing the work outward. Beyond using TokenCore internally, the larger banks are asking how to extend biometric assurance to the customers who move wires, because a phone call no longer confirms who is actually on the line. The goal is to know that it is the right person, on the right domain, within a few feet of the device, and not someone operating from another country. For security leaders, Surace offers direct advice: start moving off MFA and authenticator apps now, since those methods are being compromised constantly. He acknowledges the change is hard, often for cultural reasons more than technical ones, and suggests starting with admins and the people who touch real data before expanding over roughly a year. The upside, he notes, is that employees tend to welcome it, going passwordless or even ID-less and logging into tools like Salesforce in under two seconds. This is a Brand Highlight. Hour 3 of the Marc Cox Morning Show is wall to wall and firing on all cylinders. Marc opens with Illinois Governor Pritzker's sweeping social media age verification law and exposes the left's glaring hypocrisy — ID for Instagram but not for voting. A federal judge blocks Trump administration subpoenas protecting Minnesota officials neck deep in a massive taxpayer fraud scandal, while Democratic Socialists surge to plus 17 favorability among Democrats and the left launches a fresh assault on the Electoral College. Fox and Friends First co-anchor Todd Piro calls in fresh off air to deliver the heartbreaking latest on the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping and Savannah Guthrie's emotional on-air reaction. Then it's 2A Tuesday with Mark Walters of Armed American Radio breaking down the Supreme Court's landmark nine to zero Hamani ruling, a Fifth Circuit victory for silencer owners, and why the left is already telegraphing their plan to destroy the Bruin precedent the moment they retake power. Kim St. Onge closes the hour with a chilling story of Brazilian parents jailed for homeschooling without DEI — and a stark warning that Christian families in America are already in the crosshairs. This is the Marc Cox Morning Show — and Hour 3 just delivered. Today I'm telling the story of the ES-3A Shadow, one of the Navy's most unusual aircraft and one of its most valuable: a carrier-based SIGINT and ELINT platform designed to listen, identify, and geolocate enemy radar and communications while orbiting safely outside SAM range. With its spine canoe, bulbous fairings, and more than 60 antennas, the Shadow looked odd on the flight deck, but it could build an electronic order of battle that made every other jet smarter and safer. We break down electronic warfare in practical terms, separating electronic attack from electronic intelligence, and then walk through why the S-3 Viking was such a strong foundation for a long-endurance reconnaissance aircraft. From the Shadow's Ares II-derived mission suite to the AN/ALR-76 receiver system and APS-137 ISAR imaging, you'll hear how it could sort dense radio frequency chaos, spot low-probability-of-intercept radar behavior, and even help ID ships at range for over-the-horizon targeting. Then we get into the human side: four crew members working in a cramped, dim cabin, plus maintainers fighting salt air, catapult shocks, and nonstop tempo to keep a tiny fleet of 16 jets mission-ready. Finally, we dig into the most controversial chapter, the 1999 retirement and the budget choices that left carrier air wings without organic SIGINT for years, before comparing the Shadow's passive persistence to the EA-18G Growler's networked, kinetic approach and asking what a “Shadow 2” could look like today. If you enjoyed this deep dive into naval aviation history, electronic warfare, and intelligence support to strike operations, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review. And Senate Republicans are frustrated that Trump seems to be undermining their efforts to hold the Republican majority after the midterm election. We discuss the growing tensions and how they're affecting lawmaking on the Hill. -Rob spends a good chunk of the hour marveling that the Democratic Party somehow landed on Graham Plattner as a Senate candidate, then wonders aloud whether the party's vetting process consists entirely of skimming a résumé and hoping nobody checks the internet. -The Obama Presidential Center becomes an unexpected comedy prop as Rob points out the irony that visitors need photo identification for free admission while many Democrats continue opposing voter-ID requirements. Razor Wire News goes full snark on “Algae Gate” at DC's Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, mocking CNN/ABC's pool-store “science” while their boots-on-the-ground Hanrahan spirals into chaos. The crew pivots to media narrative warfare: Tulsi Gabbard drops documents accusing Fauci of funding Wuhan gain-of-function and shaping COVID intel, but they say it's meaningless without arrests. UK drama gets flagged: social media ID/teen bans framed as mass surveillance (with BlueSky carveout), plus Pakistani rape-gang allegations and Keir Starmer pressure. They react to leaked names tied to Peter Thiel's secretive “Dialogue” society (politicians, CEOs, actors), and track the Iran peace wobble and Israel backlash. They call the “White House UFC drone terror plot” a false-flag PSYOP, note JD Vance's View tour, and end on San Andreas megaquake talk, beer reviews, and Father's Day.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/razor-wire-news--5683729/support.www.razorwirenews.com

Maternity care and its shortcomings will be in the spotlight over the next fortnight, as the biggest maternity inquiry in the history of NHS England prepares to report its findings. The independent review by former midwife, Donna Ockenden, has looked into maternity services at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Meanwhile new figures from the Royal College of Midwives show that more than nine out of 10 of those polled felt unsafe staffing levels are directly impacting the quality of care they provide for women and babies. Next week we'll also hear the recommendations of a national review by Baroness Amos. BBC's social affairs correspondent, Michael Buchanan, talks to presenter Nuala McGovern about what we know so far. Joanna Cherry was elected as an MP in 2015, part of the SNP landslide when they took 56 out of 59 Scottish seats, just a year after the referendum on Scottish independence resulted in a No vote. Her memoir, Keeping the Dream Alive, captures the disappointment and euphoria of that time. Joanna went on to lose her seat in 2024 and has become a vocal critic of the party, and of Nicola Sturgeon's leadership. She was also well-known for expressing gender-critical views and concerns at a time when the SNP was trying to deliver a gender self-ID law in Scotland. She joins presenter Nuala McGovern to talk about that "tumultuous decade" in Scottish politics.A new study from the Universities of Exeter and Bristol is looking into how heavy periods impact daily life. Led by Gemma Sharp, a Professor of Epidemiology at Exeter, researchers will collect real-time data from thousands of participants to help us understand the relationship between periods - particularly heavy periods - and our energy levels, sleep and mood. Did you know that mini golf has feminist roots? A playful and ‘playable' exhibition, The Art of Mini Golf, has just opened at the Battersea Arts Centre in London, channelling the inclusive, subversive spirit of the game's female founders. Nuala's joined by curator Grace Herbert and one of the featured artists, Delaine Le Bas, to hear more about mini golf's hidden history and the art it's inspired.Presented by: Nuala McGovern Produced by: Sarah Jane Griffiths
Today I'm sharing a lightly edited version of a conversation I first had with my two daughters exactly one year ago this week, on Father's Day. I personally enjoyed listening to it again, and even learned a few things that I had forgotten (lol), even though I am one of the actors in the story. I haven’t done this in a long time, but every now and then I am reminded I should probably give a little bit more of my background (and my China bonafides). Now I can’t divulge very much, for security reasons, but here are the basics: moved to China at the age of 19, in the early 2000s, taught myself to speak (and read) Chinese. Lived there w/ my family til I was deported in 2018. Unbeaten: The Story of My Arrest, Interrogation, and Deportation from China (Unbeaten.vip) Over those nearly 15 years, I set foot in every province, and visited hundreds of cities, towns, and villages. Alongside our evangelistic work, I helped manage a leather factory in a Muslim town, opened a yak burger/pizza restaurant on the Tibetan Plateau, served as a guide and Tibetan taxi driver, and taught English to elementary kids, high schoolers, and young adults.
