Impressively researched and committed to creating a dazzling, expressionistic visual style to evoke the sensations of exploring the uncharted corners of the world wide web, the film is both an ode to the young, brilliant minds at the forefrunt of cyberspace and an anthropological time capsule of a subcutlure that would aesthetically inform the way the burgeoning landscape of the internet and its denizens were depicted on film throughout the rest of the decade and beyond. We discuss the film's impressive layers of authenticity, as elicited by screenwriter Rafael Moreu alongside real-life hacker consultants (including then-teenager Nicholas Jarecki, who would later become a filmmaker himself). Then, we discuss Hollywood's attempts to visualize the unconquered, uncharted landscape of the fledgling internet, and how the film paints its protagonists as intrepid trailblazers in the same spirit as classic character motifs from the American western. Finally, we discuss the noteworthy landmark design of the film, from its production and sets, to its immaculate fashion, and its pitch-perfect, multi-volume soundtracks of contemporary electronic music.Brazil isn't on Twitter anymore, so follow Gus Lanzetta on Bluesky.Check out Gus's latest podcast adventure The Boku Diaries.....Our theme song is "Mirror" by Chris Fish.

Achtung: Nostalgie-Folge!

Do you remember 1995? We sure do! This week as we close out Dystopian, 90's, Sci-fi, Cyber Punk Month, we are revisiting what people thought teens would do with a Packard Bell PC that cost 2k from Circuit City in 1995....HACK THE PLANET! We're talking about of course Hackers starring Johnny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie. A movie that we think has some kind of a message, but gets kinda muddled by things like 30 year old actors pretending to be teenagers, Jolt Cola, roller blades, and some pretty insane fashion choices. But is this movie as bad as some reviewers make it out to be or is it perhaps a cult classic that celebrates young people sticking it to the man....or in this case THE PLAGUE (aka Fisher Stevens). So get grab your sunglasses that you wear at night as we check out the "killer refresh rate" of Hackers! DISCORD!!! Take the conversation further! Summary: Summer is coming to a close and academia is back on our minds. Welcome to our fourth LoveFest, where Holly and Devin talk about Jane Austen for literally longer than they've ever spoken about anything on the podcast before. Born in 1775, Austen received a home-based education and began writing in her teens. Her novels were published anonymously during her short life; she died in 1817 at age 41 of what modern physicians believe to be Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Her six novels, though, have endured for centuries and are recognized especially for their wit, humor, and keen social commentary. Topics Discussed: Sense and Sensibility (13:09): Elinor and Marianne Dashwood teach the reader via their contrasting approaches to love that a successful romance requires both logic and passion; Holly's introduction to Austen and a mutual favorite Adaptations: 1995 film ft Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Alan Rickman, Hugh Grant, and Harriet Walter. 2008 BBC Miniseries ft. Dan Stevens, Hattie Morahan and Charity Wakefield. Pride & Prejudice (25:53): This novel is the foundation of what we think of as a romance book and is still the template some 200+ years later; Lizzie Bennet is a heroine for the ages and Darcy one of the best romantic leads in all of literature. Adaptations: 1995 BBC Miniseries ft. Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. 2005 Joe Wright film ft. Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen Emma (39:43): Emma Woodhouse goes from playing matchmaking games and meddling in the lives of her friends and acquaintances to realizing she has to mature to earn the proper match of her own in this hilarious, witty novel; Mister Knightley is a favorite of both Holly and Devin. Adaptations: 1995 film Clueless ft. Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash and Brittany Murphy, 2009 BBC miniseries ft. Romola Garai and Johnny Lee Miller, 2020 film ft. Anya Taylor Joy and Johnny Flynn Mansfield Park (49:01): Following one of the harder heroines to love and root for, Fanny, the reader journeys through all kinds of tomfoolery and propriety transgressions on their way to a happy ending in Austen's least-loved novel (for Holly and Devin, at least); key themes of class differences, privilege, and morality add meaning. Adaptations: Don't bother. Northanger Abbey (1:01:13): It's a teenage dream for the reader as we follow Catherine Morland through her summer in Bath as she discovers herself, the meaning of true and false friendships, and ultimately - love (with a side of melodrama and a “murder investigation”); Austen pokes fun at the Gothic novels so popular at the time. Adaptations: 2007 Northanger Abbey TV miniseries featuring Felicity Jones Persuasion (1:11:36): In her final work, we follow Austen's oldest protagonist (27, gasp!) Anne Elliot, who had forsaken her love of Frederick Wentworth years ago after pressure from her family about his status. The reader explores the power of love, of self-advocacy, and not bending to societal pressure while rooting enthusiastically for Anne and Wentworth alike. If you want more details on this novel, check out Episode 17, Classics. Adaptations: 1995 film ft. Ciaran Hinds and Amanda Root, 2007 film ft. Sally Hawkins, 2022 film ft. Dakota Johnson and Cosmo Jarvis (skip unless you want a laugh) Hot On the Shelf (1:18:58): Devin: With Love, from Cold World by Alicia Thompson Holly: Let Him In by William Friend What's Making Our Hearts Race (1:21:37): Devin: Barbie Holly: Oppenheimer Instagram: @heartsanddaggerspod Website: www.heartsanddaggerspod.com If you like what you hear, please tell your friends and rate and review us on Apple Podcasts and Spotify so that we can find our perfect audience.
Are you into phreaking for phone sex? Do Rollerblades turn you on? Does the name Captain Midnight mean anything to you? Have you been to Chuck Woolery's Wienerbarn of Science? If so, "Hackers" is the movie for you. This 1995 box-office bust gave us prime Angelina Jolie, Johnny Lee Miller and Matthew Lillard (plus a sub-prime Fisher Stevens) wearing the best cutting-edge fashion the studio could muster. It highlighted blazing-fast 28.8 kbps modems, sweet online handles and some unnecessarily trippy animations. In this episode, the Shat Crew discusses Hackers' gratuitous product placement, the movie's incredible two-disc soundtrack, the exploits of the late Kevin Mitnick and the missed opportunity for a "Kids" crossover film. I could've sworn there was already an episode titled Oppa Something Style, but apparently this is the first one! János returns to watch and discuss Elementary's season 3 premiere, Enough Nemesis to Go Around. Speaking of, Joan has obtained a nemesis in this episode, named either Ilana, or Elena, or Elana, depending on when in the podcast episode Val is pronouncing it. Join Val and János in taking a moment of silence to imagine a bird on a leash, looking at some of the worst facial hair on Johnny Lee Miller, and advocating for Karen rights. We eat a loooot of cereal as we guess that surely The Elementary Kidz don't solve this one, and surely Joan and Sherlock are broken up forever! Codename Thor joins Caitlin to talk about 2012's Byzantium, which is the first vampire movie we've covered on the show. The fellas do their first ever double feature, the extremely short and incredibly iconic Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein. Topics include the career of horror legend Boris Karloff and his rival Bela Lugosi, the massive differences between the movie and the novel and a brief, polite disagreement about which of these two movies is better.Matt recommends Freaks (1932), available to stream on HBO Max and available for rent or purchase on all major digital platforms.David recommends Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994), available for rent or purchase on all major digital platforms.Dan recommends National Theater Live, a Fathom event series where UK National Theater productions are shown in movie theaters. He particularly recommends Danny Boyle's production of Frankenstein with Johnny Lee Miller and Benedict Cumberbatch, if you can manage to snag a ticket.
The hiatus is over, and we're back! The podcast has changed lineup a little bit, but it is still about simping over Lucy Liu and admiring Johnny Lee Miller's acting abilities. This week, Val and guest Jo discuss season 2 episode 12, The Diabolical Kind. This episode features the evil (or is she?) mastermind of Moriarty, so we're in for lots of twists and twurns as always. It's laundry day, and we have on our best dress shirt and swim trunks on to go on yet another failed True Romantix date. Also discussed are attempts to answer the questions of love and morality, and the ideal way to paint Lucy Liu's mystical fursona. Val would also like to take a moment to apologize to elizabeth leafcrunch for reminding everyone of her knife truck post in this episode, and for bringing it up again now. Jeffrey Paul King is the creator and showrunner of the CW's The Republic of Sarah, and was a writer and producer for all seven seasons of the acclaimed TV series Elementary starring Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu. What you will learn: How Jeffrey's work on Elementary led to the creation of his show The Republic of Sarah. He also shares about the inspiration behind the original concept for The Republic of Sarah and the research it required. [0:00-8:22] What success means in the television industry, and the importance of understanding what creativity means to you. How the constraints placed on a series by a television network can be beneficial to the creative process. [8:22-16:37] Why writing pilot episodes can be especially difficult to write and shoot and how a particular, accelerated plot structure in a pilot can make for a successful start to a series, using The Republic of Sarah as an example. [16:37-21:37] How Jeffrey's music and theater background evolved into him writing plays and eventually led him to UCLA to study screenwriting. How opportunities he had as an intern on beloved shows like Brothers and Sisters and Grey's Anatomy blossomed into writing and producing opportunities on other shows, including Elementary. [21:37-30:08] Why Jeffrey chose to focus so specifically on showrunning in film school, why he is personally drawn to television vs. film, and why he values diversity in his writers' room. [30:08-40:58] Advice Jeffrey would give to young people hoping to start a career in the entertainment industry, and the passion and determination it takes to become successful in this business. An anecdote about Shonda Rhimes that highlights the importance of being helpful in any way you can when first starting out in Hollywood. [40:58-46:59] Jeffrey's perspective on the values of younger generations, and why he views their work ethic as different (not worse) than the work ethic of older generations. The charity work Jeffrey is involved in, and what the future holds for The Republic of Sarah. [46:49-54:30] Resources: Jeffrey Paul King's: IMDb, Instagram

Starring Ramola Garai, Michael Gambon, and Johnny Lee Miller, this adaptation more closely follows the book, while still adding its own unique twist. This week we talk about what makes this adaptation unique and how it affects the overall story. Did this version give us the big sweeping romance Austen novels have become known for? Or did it stick closer to the text? How does it compare to the film adaptations? But most importantly, how much do we love Johnny Lee Miller's version of Mr. Knightley? After an absence of over fifty episodes and nearly three years the restraining order has finally been lifted. Ladies and gentlemen…like a phoenix from the flames…yes he's back. It's an old school Stinking Pause episode – the original theme tune, all the old jingles, the return of Jim from Swanscombe and Six Degrees of Separation. It's over two and a half hours long, but to be honest, there's only about ten minutes of decent chat worth listening to. First time listeners be warned….this is not the episode to begin your Stinking Pause journey. Our review this episode (and boy do we make you wait before we get anywhere near it) is Trainspotting (1996), directed by Danny Boyle and starring Ewan McGregor, Johnny Lee Miller, Ewan Bremner, Robert Carlyle, Kelly MacDonald and Kevin McKidd. ‘Danny Boyle's explosive film tracks the misadventures of young men in Edinburgh trying to find their way out of joblessness, aimless relationships and drug addiction. Some are successful, while others hopelessly are not. Based on Irvine Walsh's novel, Trainspotting melds grit with poetry, resulting in a film of harsh truths and stunning grace.' #trainspotting “Living like this is a full-time business.” This and previous episodes can be found on; Apple Podcasts Podchaser Stitcher Spreaker Player FM Acast IHeartRadio Libsyn Podcast Party Follow us on Twitter @StinkingPause email: thestinkingpause@gmail.com Thanks for listening Scott and Charlie
It’s not often that an adaptation holds up to the standards of the original text, indeed some say it’s impossible. But there are some reinterpretations of events that give that assertion a run for its money. Both Elementary and the Guy Ritchie films are sharing the 11 and 12th positions on our Death of the Reader list for this year. This is not a decision made lightly, and to tell you the truth, more blood has been spilled on our show over the placement of the films and whether Sherlock Holmes the movie should be ranked separately to its duller sequel, Game of Shadows, than any other entry in this list.
This week, after watching Season 1 Episode 20 of Elementary, Dead Man's Switch, Val and Alec stab in the dark at some truths of the universe. What would a hypothetical bell sound like? What is the difference between concrete and cement? What kind of chip could you eat if it was a year old? That last one was submitted to us by a listener and we do answer it pretty well. We're about as good at knowing things as Johnny Lee Miller is at doing an American accent, which is to say it comes and goes. Join our discord!

In cyberspace, there is no right or wrong… there’s only fun and boring! At least, that’s what 1995’s techsploitation thriller HACKERS would have you believe. After getting caught up in THE NET in Part 1 of our “net-rospective,” Part 2 finds our hosts recalling other 90s movies involving the internet, including The Lawnmower Man, Virtuosity, Johnny Mnemonic, and Disclosure, which were heavy on virtual reality but short on stuff people actually use the internet for nowadays. Then, we take a deep dive into Hackers, starring future sweethearts Johnny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie, plus an eclectic supporting cast that includes Matthew Lillard, Fisher Stevens, Penn Jillette, and Marc Anthony. With its pulsing techno soundtrack, rave-inspired fashion, and some badass rollerblading, we marvel at how 90s one film can be — and cringe at Lorraine Bracco’s unintentionally hilarious turn as a trashy corporate executive whose main function in the story is repeating nonsense computer jargon with perpetually increasing desperation. Is this teen-oriented techno thriller still a seriously righteous hack? Or, when viewed through a modern lens, does it seem universally stupid? Hackers of the world unite for our latest episode! This week on Pop Culture Boner we're thinking about the 1995 classic Hackers, starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Lee Miller. Exactly why does this psychedelic, technicolour techno-fest hold up as a film about hacking, when so many newer films with bigger budgets and better technology fail? And 25 years on, how do our attitudes to technology compare?Visit the website for episode notes and a full transcript: www.popcultureboner.com
Estado fallido
Hackers is the 1990s personified. From its aesthetic to its central narrative, everything in it screams the decade that it's rooted in. This is both a good and a bad thing. In terms of nostalgia, there is certainly plenty. And like most high school films of its era, it features a young, attractive cast of up and comers — Johnny Lee Miller, Angelina Jolie, and Matthew Lillard, to name a few. The trouble is: None of it is relatable or compelling. There is a diverse set of characters, but they aren't particularly deep. The script just doesn't flesh them out. Aside from being anti-authority, a staple of teenage movies, there isn't much else known about them. They like hacking, rollerblading, and smoking; a lot of bones are burned through — sometimes two at a time. Admittedly, two of these things were once actually cool. It has also never been interesting to watch people type furiously. They did try and stylize this effect, using three-dimensional models to simulate the interworking of a computer, but, alas, it is still just people hurriedly smacking keys that for some reason echo. That lack of depth is why the movie probably flopped, earning just $7.5 million on a budget of $20 million. Its poor performance is somewhat surprising, though. It had the elements to be a hit — mainly those mentioned above — like the hip cast and the thematic use of computers to stick it to the man. And, if you're a child of the 90s, it is sort of fun as a time capsule piece. As silly as all the computer elements may seem now, it's hilarious to reflect on how things used to be. So sit back, splice into a Rewired IPA from Red Hare Brewing, and lace up those rollerblades! I, the Thunderous Wizard (@WriterTLK), Capt. Cash, Chumpzilla, and special guest Mayor McCheese are hacking into the Gibson to take down an egomaniacal corporate security stooge who hangs out with a magician! This Week’s Segments: Introduction/Plot Breakdown – Unfortunately for Hackers, its presentation of groundbreaking technology is quite dated; but does that make it any less enjoyable? (00:00) The Mess with the Best, Die Like the Rest Trivia Challenge – I challenge the crew to trivia centered around the movie. (1:03:58) Recommendations – Next up: We do what all teens of the 90s did and head to our local shopping mall to hang out and have mindless conversations about all sorts of inconsequential topics. It's Mallrats! (1:11:46) And, as always, hit us up on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram to check out all the interesting factoids—how the film's production took over a local high school and more—from this week’s episode! Introducing LMNOP! We are your hosts, Val flightcub and Alec. This episode, we discuss the pilot of CBS's Elementary, starring Lucy Liu and Johnny Lee Miller. We also offer some tips on which food goes in the fridge, and what can be stored on a shelf, as well as other smart wisdoms.
We discuss the first season of Elementary produced by CBS starring Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu as Sherlock and Watson. Taking Sherlock Holmes out of 221B Baker St and placing him in a New York Brownstone more reminiscent of Van Dine and Rex Stout’s work seems a peculiar move. After concluding its’ 7-season run in 2019, we take back a look at where it all began, talking about how being open about its use of Conan Doyle’s characters led to a more honest show that leans more on the tropes of police procedurals than the standards of Murder Mystery. With clever constructions and visual clues, the show makes a strong case for a modern Sherlock series, and we break down some of our favourite episodes to see how it stacks up.
Janty will offer us a fascinating insight into her long standing very collaborative relationship with Sir Ridley Scott. on such diverse films as Hannibal, American Gangster, Kingdom of Heaven, Robin Hood, Prometheus, Exodus Gods & Kings, The Martian, Alien: Covenant, All the Money in the World and Gladiator for which Janty’s designs won her an Academy award. During her career she has worked with Michael Mann (Miami Vice with Colin Farrell & Jamie Fox) Jean Jaques Annaud ( Enemy at the Gates with Jude Law, Ed Harris & Rachel Weisz), Irwin Winkler, (De-lovely with Kevin Kline & Ashley Judd), John Amiel (The Man who Knew Too Little with Bill Murray), Michael Winterbottom (Jude with Kate Winslet & Christopher Eccleston and Welcome to Sarajevo with Woody Harrelson, Marisa Tomeii & Jimmy Nesbit ) Gillian Armstrong (Charlotte Grey with Cate Blanchett ) & Jake Scott (Plunkett & Maclean with Johnny Lee Miller,Liv Tyler & Robert Carlisle)www.angelsbehindtheseams.com

For our Season 3 grand finale, we would love to introduce you to Clyomon and Clamydes, the bro-nemies that predate all others of this period and whose play is nothing by rhyming fourteeners. We re-meet the contemporary, that prolific Anonymous, “waltz” our way through a summary, and give you a Taste of Text you will never forget. Jess also delivers the other part of her paper about shipwrecks (the first half is in our Pericles episode), we give you a little ShakesBubble Gossip to get you through our extended hiatus, and give you an impromptu review of NTLive's Frankenstein, too (spoiler alert: we don't know how we feel about it but we really like that nice Johnny Lee Miller). Friends, this will be our last episode for a while, what with 2020 being slightly insane, so we hope to see you happy and healthy on the other side. Be well!

Let’s rollerblade into 1995’s misunderstood coming-of-age? Action? Adventure? Sci-Fi? movie Hackers. What kind of movie do you make about computer hacking before Windows '95 is out? Well, apparently this one! Hackers is a cult classic of incredibly mind-boggling proportions. Our lovable heroes spend the whole movie screwing with each other and committing a gleeful number of crimes in an attempt to "Hack the Planet." What does hacking the planet entail? Apparently surfing through the 3D realized 1995 era internet at speeds of 3! Johnny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie have a chemistry that will make you say "What? They got married after this thing?" Matthew Lillard dances around in a Jean-Paul Gauthier nightmare. Fischer Stevens is here in the hammiest performance of his unfortunate career. Honestly... this thing is a TON of fun and totally worth checking out! And we hope you'll stick around for our prequel, sequel and remake for... HACKERS! Welcome to the 40th episode extravaganza! Starring none other than your tried and true hosts Jax and Jason.! In this double sized episode we go there and back again as we discuss our assignments. Jason gives his thoughts on the first two parts of the Hobbit Trilogy as we discuss Gandalf’s deceptions in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. We go all the way back to the year 2000 to discuss the start studded Dracula 2000 featuring Johnny Lee Miller and Gerard Butler’s hair. Also we get into the muddy waters of Disney cash ins (our apologies, remakes) The Lion King and Aladdin. We also go into the new releases of the striking and hilarious Jo Jo Rabbit and the surprisingly decent Terminator: Dark Fate. Also, don the eyebrows of Lee Pace have a life of their own? Welcome to the first episode of Clash of the Titles, the podcast that pits two films with something in common against each other in a brutal fight to the death. Well, not death. We just decide which one is better. And Episode One has a couple of doozies from the nineties. In the red corner, Johnny Lee Miller and Angelia Jolie do battle with evil computer dude The Plague whilst wearing rollerblades in ‘Hackers’! And in the blue corner, Sandra Bullock’s on the run from the world’s worst hitman and his roll necks in ‘The Net’! What connects these two movies? Can Sandra Bullock pronounce modem correctly? And seriously, what’s with all the rollerblading? Such is the party boy legend of Scotland’s literary icon Irvine Welsh that fans still slip him wraps of drugs at book signings. Whereas years ago he may have taken them all, these days he flushes them straight down the hotel loo. Life, understandably, has moved on for Irvine since he first shot to fame in 1993 with the publication of his debut novel and the Trainspotting phenomenon began. Over the following two decades he’s penned another fourteen novels and swapped the pubs and bars of London and Leith for home in Chicago. Nevertheless the past not only has a habit of catching up with us every so often but sometimes it was so good, it becomes part of the story of who we all are and we want it back. Cue the frenzy of excitement and nostalgia around the release of T2, the sequel to Danny Boyle’s 1996 Trainspotting movie based on the novel Porno. Listen to Irvine Welsh explain what it’s like to step back into the moment - how Ewan McGregor and Johnny Lee Miller look as fresh faced as ever - and why he keeps his eyes fixed firmly on the future.
Gary and Roscoe's "little grey cells" get a workout when rising star and Steppenwolf Theatre ensemble member Jon Michael Hill Read Bio visits the show. Coming to you remotely from the new 80-seat 1700 Theatre performance space at Steppenwolf. Jon is currently starring in Constellations by Nick Payne at the Upstairs Theater at Steppenwolf, along with the luminous Jessie Fisher. "It's a beautiful, elliptical and elegant exploration of all that is possible when two people meet," says Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro. A Way with Words — language, linguistics, and callers from all over
This week on "A Way with Words": We often hear that English is going to hell in a handbasket. Actually, though, linguistic handwringing about sinking standards and sloppy speech has been going on for centuries--at least as far back as the 1300's! And: language also changes to fit the needs the workplace. Take, for example, the slang of flight attendants. Listen on your next trip, and you might overhear them talking about landing lips, flying dirty, or crew juice. Plus, a discreet phrase from Arabic for advising someone that he has food in his beard. All this, plus a word game based on Paul Simon's "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover," dead as a doornail, the green-eyed monster, and learning that fat meat is greasy.FULL DETAILSIt turns out the creativity of flight attendants doesn't stop with the pre-takeoff safety demonstration; they have slang for all kinds of fun stuff, from the lipstick they apply before passengers deplane (landing lips) to the 2-for-1 special, which is when the plane hits the runway upon landing, then bounces up and lands again. Dead as a doornail is a common idiom, but what exactly is a doornail, and why is it dead? The saying goes at least as far back as the 1350's, and may simply refer to the fact that the nails used to make big, heavy doors were securely fixed in place--the modifier dead having the same sort of unequivocal sense suggested in the expression dead certain. What do flight attendants call that point in takeoff preparations when they walk up and down the aisle to make sure seatbelts are securely fastened? SPOILER: Reviewing movies, books & TV shows in their entirety
"He's a crazy smeg who eats schlanger!" This week we're enjoying/enduring George Miller's 2015 action movie Mad Max: Fury Road, and it turns out to be one of our most divisive subjects yet as Rachael catches her breath long enough to expresses disbelief at its Best Picture Oscar nomination and Andy tries to shake the image of the so-called feminist movie's "hosing down" scene. Meanwhile, Paul ponders who exactly the Organic Mechanic was. Later, inspired by George Miller's frankly bizarre filmography, Andy takes a look at some other directors who have made weird stylistic shifts. This week's rating scale: George Miller, Johnny Lee Miller, Sienna Miller or Windy Miller?
Pax, Jaime and Shawn are back this month with the 25th episode of the Cult Film Club. Since we've been sort of on a roll choosing some of our all time favorite flicks, we decided to cap that off with a look at the 1995 neo-noir flick, Hackers. Directed by Ian Softley, and starring Johnny Lee Miller, Angelina Jolie, Fisher Stevens, and Matthew Lillard, the film follows Dade Murphy (aka Crash Override, aka Zero Cool) (Miller) as he transfers to a new school and is finally able to legally use a computer again after being busted as a child for one of the largest computer cracks in history. He quickly gets in tight with a gang of fellow hackers and falls for his digital enemy Acid Burn (Jolie), all while a renegade IT security officer (The Plague) plans to bilk his company out of millions. After a fellow hacker unwittingly discovers the Plague's plan, it's hacker against hacker in this fast-paced, visually stylistic thriller that is equal parts awesome and 90s cheese.
