In this throwback episode from 2023 Alan revisits a long-standing "chip on his shoulder": the persistent and often unscientific demand for antibiotic premedication in joint replacement patients. Sparked by his own wife's hip surgery, Alan dives into the disconnect between evidence-based ADA/AAOS guidelines and the "premedicate for life" culture maintained by many orthopedic surgeons. With his signature wit and candid frustration, he explores the risks of antibiotic resistance, the myth of dental-induced bacteremia, and the awkward "middle man" position patients are forced into when dental and surgical philosophies collide.

The Hilarious and Sexy New Film Will Be Coming to Theaters April 24! Winner of the Special Jury Prize at Sundance, TWO WOMEN is an irrepressible comedy about two mothers who refuse to settle for stagnant lives and instead pursue the joy they need to feel alive and fulfilled. When neighbors Violette (Laurence Leboeuf) and Florence (Karine Gonthier-Hyndman) bond over the ennui of parenthood, they realize that the solution to reviving their joie de vivre may be in listening to their libidos. As the two start finding sex in unexpected places, they examine the larger unfulfilled needs that brought them to their current moment and choose to pursue a life of joy over compromise. Director Chloé Robichaud captures the Montreal winter in sumptuous 35mm film; Screenwriter Catherine Léger has adapted her own stage play, itself an update of the 1970 Quebecoise classic Two Women in Gold. Sophie Nélisse, Juliette Gariépy, Mani Soleymanlou, and Félix Moati complete a stellar ensemble cast. Wonderfully layered, empathetic, sexy, and fun, TWO WOMEN urges us to consider that life is not a straight line and to remember that there are infinite kinds of pleasure we can experience together if we simply allow ourselves to give in.

Keith Bodnarchuk, President and CEO, and Andy Carmichael, VP of Exploration of Cosa Resources Corp. (TSXV: COSA) (OTCQB: COSAF) (FSE: SSKU) , both join me to review the news released on March 24th and today on April 13th which announced anomalous radioactivity in multiple drill holes and completion of the winter 2026 drilling program at the Company's Murphy Lake North Project (MLN). Both MLN and Darby are joint ventures between Cosa and Denison Mines Corp. (TSX: DML) (NYSE American: DNN) and are located 3kms east of IsoEnergy's Hurricane Deposit, and 10kms west of Cameco's Cigar Lake Mine and respectively, in the eastern Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. Cosa is the operator of both projects and holds a 70% interest with Denison holding a 30% interest in each. Highlights Radioactivity intersected in three drill holes Radioactivity remains open in multiple directions including for at least 600 metres along strike to the east and 600 metres to the west within the larger kilometre-scale Cyclone alteration zone MLN26-013 intersected 5.0 metres of anomalous radioactivity up to 13,900 CPS1 in the upper basement approximately 260 metres vertically from surface Depth of the radioactivity is shallow at approximately 260 metres vertically from surface Cyclone trend structural corridor is over 100 metres wide and hosts significant alteration consistent with major eastern Athabasca uranium deposits MLN Winter Drilling Approach Winter drilling at MLN followed up structure and alteration intersected at the Cyclone trend in summer 2025. Five drill holes totaling 2,015 metres were completed during the program with three drill holes intersecting anomalous radioactivity. The first drill hole of the program, MLN26-013, intersected the strongest radioactivity including a 5.0 metre interval of continuously anomalous radioactivity in the upper basement. Two holes were completed to directly follow up radioactivity in MLN26-013. Two additional holes were completed to define underlying geology ahead of summer drilling and follow up another radioactive intersection. All drill holes were completed on Section 3200E. Drilling determined the Cyclone trend is underlain by a package of graphitic and non-graphitic pelitic gneisses and quartzite over 100 metres in width. The full width of the mineralized structural corridor is unknown as additional prospective graphitic rocks may lie north and south of current drilling. Next Steps The Company and its Joint Venture partner, Denison Mines, will be finalizing summer plans in the coming weeks. The drill remains on site for rapid startup when drilling resumes this summer. Assays for all winter drill holes remain outstanding.
Trump declares victory after a last-minute ceasefire forces Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, easing global oil disruptions and halting imminent U.S. strikes. With hundreds of ships still backed up, Trump proposes a controversial U.S.–Iran "joint venture" to secure the waterway and potentially manage transit operations together. As negotiations continue during the temporary truce, questions remain about whether this deal signals a true end to the conflict or just a pause before the next phase. Every Saturday, we showcase a topic important to you by rounding up the greatest highlights and clips from Level 10 Contractor's ENTIRE podcast run. This week, we focus on joint ventures. What's a joint venture? It's when you work with other companies to leverage either their brand or their customer list to generate leads and sales. Rich covers three instances of joint ventures in this episode. First, becoming a content provider… second, what he calls "left field endorsements," and third "when you have something to sell no one has ever heard of." Sit back and take notes. The answer to your question about where to locate more leads might just be your neighboring businesses.

Interview with Chris Frostad, CEO, Purepoint UraniumOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/purepoint-uranium-tsxvptu-6m-premium-raise-isoenergy-backing-boosts-dorado-expansion-8234Recording date: 4th of March 2026Purepoint Uranium has established a distinctive position in uranium exploration through strategic partnerships with industry majors, enabling systematic discovery work across Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin while minimizing shareholder dilution. The company operates 9-10 projects primarily through joint ventures with Cameco, Orano, and IsoEnergy, earning operator fees while maintaining meaningful equity participation. The partnership model allows Purepoint to deploy significantly more capital than traditional junior explorers. CEO Chris Frostad explained the company can "put $5, $10, $15 million in the ground" while paying only its proportionate share and earning fees for project management. This structure proved critical during uranium's downturn, providing capital continuity when many peers struggled to maintain operations.Purepoint's portfolio includes three principal holdings: 27% of Smart Lake alongside Cameco, 21% of Hook Lake with Cameco and Orano, and a 50-50 partnership with IsoEnergy covering consolidated mine trend properties. The Hook Lake project hosts the Spitfire discovery, a 15-20 million pound deposit that remains below major producer development thresholds but validates the geological potential.Recent success centers on the Nova Discovery at the Dorado project with IsoEnergy. Summer 2025 drilling intersected high-grade mineralisation across four holes testing five-six distinct targets. A 4,500-meter winter program resumed in January 2026, with results expected throughout the year as the company systematically expands understanding of the mineralized system.Capital deployment is accelerating as major partners demonstrate increased urgency. Purepoint expects to deploy approximately $8 million in 2026, potentially doubling to $16 million in 2027. This reflects broader industry dynamics as producers respond to tightening supply fundamentals, highlighted by Cameco's 22 million pound contract to India while western utilities remain passive in securing long-term supply.Frostad characterized the investment opportunity succinctly: "Uranium is not a cycle anymore. This is a get-rich slow thing now, which is fine as part of your portfolio." The methodical, partner-aligned approach prioritizes systematic value creation over headline-driven drilling campaigns.Learn more: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/purepoint-uranium-group-incSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

The Automotive Troublemaker w/ Paul J Daly and Kyle Mountsier
Shoot us a Text.Episode #1270: Ford floats ideas to counter China's EV push, Detroit rethinks sedans as affordability pressures rise and Amazon proves even tech giants can't crack physical retail that easily. As Chinese automakers creep closer to U.S. soil, Ford CEO Jim Farley reportedly discussed a framework that would allow Chinese brands to build cars in America—through U.S.-controlled joint ventures. The idea? Compete without getting steamrolled.Farley discussed U.S.-majority joint ventures with Trump cabinet officials at the Detroit Auto Show. The structure would allow Chinese automakers to build in the U.S., sharing profits and tech with American partners.Trump recently said he'd be open to Chinese companies building plants and hiring Americans.GM opposes any Chinese entry, warning of lost market share and supplier disruption.New polling from the north shows that Canadian sentiment toward Chinese-built EVs has shifted sharply: 53% now say it wouldn't affect their purchase decision and 15% say they'd be more likely to buy—compared to 2024 when 61% said they were less likely to consider one. After years of betting big on SUVs and trucks, Detroit may be eyeing a return to sedans as affordability pressures mount.GM, Ford and Stellantis are all exploring affordable sedan options, including hybrids priced under $30,000.Passenger cars now make up just 18% of U.S. sales, down from 50% fifteen years agoAs Detroit exited sedans, Toyota's share of the U.S. sedan market jumped from 12% to 22%Dealers say losing sedans cost them entry-level buyers who later would've traded up to higher-margin SUVs and trucks.“If somebody could build an affordable sedan, it would sell,” said dealer Adam Lee. “We have made these cars so expensive that nobody can afford them.”Amazon is shutting down its Amazon Go and Fresh stores, admitting it couldn't crack the economics of brick-and-mortar grocery. Despite world-class logistics and tech, the company discovered what operators already know: physical retail is a grind.Amazon will close Go and Fresh locations after failing to build a scalable, profitable grocery model.Grocery is attractive because it's high-frequency and data-rich—fuel for Amazon's $21B ad business, but shoppers prioritize price, value, and location over tech like “Just Walk Out.”“Physical grocery is just brutally operational,” said Professor Andy Tsay, calling the margins “thin and unforgiving.”Today's show is brought to you by ESi-Q. Italian Defense Strategy and the Geopolitical Situation. Lorenzo Fiori discusses Italy's defense buildup using EU loan deals to acquire new armored vehicles from Germany's Rheinmetall through a joint venture with Leonardo. This modernization is crucial as Italy is strategically situated near the Ukrainian conflict and faces risks from troubled North African countries, particularly potential Russian influence in Libya. Although the military is needed for disaster relief, public opinion often remains against increasing defense expenditures.
