Hey Rainmakers! It's Chelsey and Stephen here, and today we're diving into a story that's equal parts inspiring and practical. If you've ever wondered whether you can balance entrepreneurship with raising a family and still build a legacy, you're going to love this episode. We're chatting with Krista Meikle, one of our incredible Rainmakers, who's gone from serial entrepreneur to running a thriving six-figure golf brand on Amazon—all while being a mom. Krista's entrepreneurial journey started years ago when she and her husband launched their first business: a wedding website company. Although they sold the business, it sparked a love for creativity and problem-solving. Over the years, she's tried her hand at everything from fitness coaching to interior design, but joining the Rainmaker Family gave her a new framework for success. Krista shares how finding our program on a flight to Hawaii in 2023 was the “God thing” she didn't know she needed. In this episode, Krista reveals how she launched her first product, a seashell pillow, and used it to learn the ropes of Amazon FBA. Once she got comfortable, she leaned into her passion for golf to create Oberti Golf, a brand focused on giving women confidence on the golf course. Krista highlights the unique challenges she's faced in building a brand that balances innovation and demand while staying true to her vision. We also dive into the mindset shifts that have transformed Krista's approach to entrepreneurship. From learning to let go of perfectionism to outsourcing tasks like PPC (pay-per-click ads), she shares practical tips that have helped her scale faster and work smarter. Her journey is proof that success comes from taking small, consistent steps—even if it's just an hour a day after the kids are in bed. So, whether you're just starting your business journey or looking for ways to scale, this episode is packed with gold nuggets you can apply today. Do you ever feel like there just aren't enough hours in the day? As a business owner, your to-do list is virtually never-ending. But what if you could grow your business faster by doing less? Today's podcast guest is proof that it's possible. Rodric Lenhart is a lifelong entrepreneur, multi-best-selling author, and sought-after speaker. Over the last 30 years, he's built several multi-million dollar companies in both the product and service industries. Having traveled to more than 50 countries across six continents, Rodric brings a unique worldview and a deep appreciation for freedom. All profits from his book Million Dollar Flip Flops are donated to his foundation, Send a Student Leader Abroad, with the goal of sending one million kids on life-changing trips.   Build Your Business Around Your Life Like most successful business owners, Rodric is very protective of his time. He wakes up in the sun and has a structured morning routine, after which he works from around 10:00 to 3:00 pm. It's important for him to leave empty space on the calendar for reading, writing, and introspection. That quiet time is crucial for developing the business. When you're busy all day everyday, that leaves little room for new ideas.  If you're trying to find your ideal daily routine, ask yourself what you want your day to look like a year from now–then build a business that fuels that, instead of the other way around. Advice for New Entrepreneurs Rodric has two pieces of advice for new entrepreneurs: the first is to turn off social media. Forget what everyone else is doing and focus on your business and your customers. Don't get lost in the comparison game. Second, try to avoid Shiny Object Syndrome. It's easy to get sucked into the newest app or strategy, but successful businesses are built on the basics. Be willing to pick up the phone and have conversations with people. Figure out what your target audience wants and needs, then give it to them. Let them tell you what they want, instead of trying to impose your ideas on them. Listen and learn. Enjoy this episode with founder Rodric Lenhart… Soundbytes 11:29-11:51 “I'm very protective of my time. I haven't set an alarm in probably 15 years. I wake up with the sun. I have a very set morning routine, and I try to work between around 10:00 and 3:00 every day. And I make a lot of time for reading and introspection and writing and developing the business, not just being busy all the time.” 21:10-21:36 “It's shiny object syndrome, the next cool app or program, the next customer acquisition method. That's not what's going to give you a successful business. It's back to the basics. It's having conversations with people. It's being willing to pick up the phone. It's learning what do they want, what do they need? That's how you know what to give them, versus thinking you have this idea of what to give them.”  Quotes “The bulk of my financial abundance came from the ability to change course.” “What do you want your day to look like a year from now? And let's build a business that feeds that, not the other way around.” “Why write a book? Well, it's to help people who are in the same situation I might have been in 20 years ago.” “Ultimately, it all comes from a place of service. And I think if we aren't wired that way to start, none of the other things fall into place.” “I don't know what chapter two looks like, but I know I can't see it while I'm in the middle of chapter one.”  Links mentioned in this episode: Million Dollar Flip Flops: http://www.milliondollarflipflops.com/  Connect with Rodric on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rodriclenhart/  Connect with Rodric on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rodriclenhart/  Connect with brandiD: Download our free guide to learn 16 crucial website updates that attract more leads and convert visitors into clients: https://thebrandid.com/website-tweaks/ Ready to elevate your digital presence with a powerful brand or website? Hey Rainmakers! It's Stephen and Chelsey here, and today we're diving deep into culture with the incredible Mimi Dew. Whether you're running a large company or building a small team, Mimi shares why intentional culture is essential for growth and legacy. In this episode, we explore practical tips on fostering culture, starting from your very first hire, and why a strong foundation of values can make all the difference. Mimi and her husband, Jim, have led their company, Dew Wealth, to the Inc. 5000 list three years running, and she credits much of their success to a well-defined, values-driven culture. They share how they were initially reactive about culture but learned the hard way that drifting leads to negative outcomes. On today's podcast, I had fun chatting with Aidan, the brains behind SOA Marketing Agency, about all things branding, marketing, and getting your name out there through PR. Aidan started with an internship at MIT and became fed up with outdated marketing strategies. So, like any boss, he launched his own agency! Now, he's all about helping businesses build a strong online presence, and trust me, he's got gems to drop. One major takeaway? Your Instagram is basically your digital business card, so make sure it's on point! We also talked about how AI is shaking up the content game. Aidan's using tools like ChatGPT to save time and create content faster, but he's clear that you still need that human touch to make it shine. His advice? Once you land any media features, don't be shy—share it on your socials, add it to your website, and send it to your email list to keep the momentum going! Boost Your Brand with These 5 Actionable PR and Marketing Tips from Aidan Sowa 1. Optimize Your Instagram Profile Optimizing your Instagram profile helps you create a clear, cohesive brand presence that attracts the right audience. A well-structured bio, high-quality profile image, and strategic use of highlights make a strong first impression, while a consistent theme and call-to-actions guide visitors toward engaging with your content, following your account, or taking desired actions like visiting your website or booking a service. 2. Use Free PR Platforms Using free PR platforms offers businesses and entrepreneurs an opportunity to gain visibility and credibility without the cost of traditional PR services. These platforms allow you to connect with journalists, contribute expert insights, and get featured in media outlets, boosting your authority and brand recognition. It's a cost-effective way to reach a broader audience, drive traffic to your website, and build trust with potential clients or customers through third-party validation. 3. Invest in Paid PR Investing in paid PR gives you targeted access to top-tier media, ensuring your brand's message reaches the right audience quickly and effectively. It offers professional guidance, faster results, and higher-quality placements, boosting your brand's visibility, authority, and credibility. 4. Leverage AI for Content Creation Leveraging AI for content creation streamlines the process by generating high-quality, engaging content quickly and efficiently. It helps with idea generation, editing, and optimization, allowing for personalized and scalable content that aligns with audience preferences. AI tools can also analyze data to improve SEO and engagement, freeing up time for creators to focus on strategy and creativity. 5. Maximize Your Media Coverage Maximizing media coverage for your business increases brand awareness, builds credibility, and positions you as an industry leader. It attracts new customers, drives website traffic, and can lead to partnerships or business opportunities. Consistent exposure also strengthens your brand's reputation, making it easier to stand out from competitors and remain top of mind with your audience. In this episode, Erika Lucas shares her insights on the 5 mistakes that new entrepreneurs often make. As an investor who works with startups, growth phase and mature companies, she's seen it all and boils it down into 5 things to watch out for. All entrepreneurs fall into these traps but once you know what to look out for, you can prevent staying in them. Both Amanda and Erika share personal examples of each of the mistakes to ensure you don't feel like you're the only one navigating the tough times in entrepreneurship.  *This conversation led to a part 2 that will be released in the next episode on this podcast.  Takeaways Avoid falling into the trap of focusing on vanity metrics instead of metrics that really matter Spending money before making money is not a good option, you need organic growth first Remember that there will always be challenges in entrepreneurship, no matter your level of success  Detach your personal identity from professional roles and find your core values and purpose. Be aware of the fear of missing out and prioritize activities that align with your goals and values.
