I was about to title this episode "How I'm Actually Feeling About AI Right Now", because honestly? It's not all sunshine and robots over here.Look, you know me. I'm the AI girl. I teach it, I use it, I've built entire systems around it. But lately? Some stuff happening in the AI space is giving me the ick. And in some cases, I'm like... have we completely lost the plot?I'm still team AI—don't get me wrong. This tech has changed everything for entrepreneurs. It's opened up massive opportunities, saved me countless hours, helped me tighten up systems, create better content, and run a stronger company. But here's the thing: not everything coming out of this so-called "AI revolution" is smart. Not all of it is going to grow your business in the right way.So I'm flipping the mic on and getting real about a couple things that aren't sitting right with me. And honestly? I think you might agree. We're building personal brand businesses in this weird new AI-saturated world, and we need to be smart about it. Because your edge isn't in how many automations you have—your edge is YOU. Your stories, your opinions, your energy. That's what can't be replicated, even by a really good AI twin. What You'll Learn:Why AI twins and digital clones are giving me major ick (and why they might be killing your personal brand instead of building it)The problem with AI-generated podcasts and why they'll make your audience tune out fastHow to use AI to amplify yourself without replacing the human connection your audience cravesWhy you don't need to keep up with every single AI development (and how it's actually holding you back)The one thing that will always be your competitive edge as a personal brand entrepreneurHow to zig when everyone else zags—and why "ugly content" might be your secret weaponMy challenge to you: how to lean MORE into being human in your business, not lessResources Mentioned:The Personality Manifesto (FREE): https://gemmabonhamcarter.com/personalityYour Next Steps:Work with Me: https://www.gemmabonhamcarter.com/programsWhat I Use to Run My 7-Figure Business: https://gemmabonhamcarter.com/toolsConnect on Social: https://www.instagram.com/gemma.bonhamcarter Support the show

The Push-Pull of ADHD and Autism: Stretching Without Breaking In this candid conversation, Patricia Young (she/her) and B Lourenco (she/her) dive deep into the realities of living with ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodivergence. They explore the push-pull between self-accommodation and stretching ourselves, how shame and internalized ableism impact daily life, and what it means to create realistic support systems at home, in relationships, and in the workplace. Expect raw honesty, relatable stories, and practical insights for navigating neurodivergent life. WHAT YOU'LL HEAR IN THIS EPISODE · The ongoing "driver's seat battle" between ADHD and autism. · The push-pull between making accommodations and stretching ourselves beyond comfort. · Parenting a neurodivergent young adult while balancing when to push and when to allow rest. · Task initiation struggles — from making banana bread to cooking meals. · Body doubling as a powerful tool to reduce shame and spark motivation. · The "crisper/rotter" effect — guilt over wasted food and executive dysfunction. · Financial and practical impacts of task initiation challenges. · How privilege plays into having options like prepared or frozen meals when cooking feels impossible. · The cost of pushing through fatigue and flares with conditions like POTS and MCAS. · "Future me" thinking — and the difficulties neurodivergent folks have with impermanence. · Shame as the "ice cream scoop" on top of disability struggles. · Why diagnosis matters: language helps reduce shame and prevent repeating harmful patterns. · How powerlessness, and an attempt to gain autonomy can show up in small, reactive choices (like leaving a Facebook group). · Sensory sensitivities in family systems — how lack of accommodations can lead to dysfunction. · Practical accommodations for noise-sensitive parents and their kids. · Workplace challenges: 40-hour weeks, return-to-office pressures, and capitalism's rigidity. · Creative problem-solving in disabled and neurodivergent communities. · The deep fear of being uncared for and alone if we can't keep up. · Hyper-independence and isolation in the ADHD/autistic community. · Internalized ableism and the "shoulds" that drive shame and burnout. · Neurodivergence as a dynamic disability — what's possible one day isn't always possible the next. · Radical acceptance as a path toward reducing judgment and finding relief. SOUND BITES · "It begs the question of, okay, is that okay? Can we just say that's how it is?" – B Lourenco · "Instead of putting our energy into addressing the gap, folks will take the great divide and then put a scoop of shame on top of it." – B Lourenco · "All the terrible things that we tell ourselves… if I didn't have that awareness, I'd just keep repeating these patterns." – Patricia Young · "In order to truly accommodate ourselves, we have to acknowledge that it's as hard as it is and that we're as disabled as we are." – B Lourenco · "Sometimes I have to ask myself, what if what you're going through is exactly where you need to be?" – Patricia Young SENSITIVITY IS NOTHING TO APOLOGIZE FOR; IT'S HOW YOUR BRAIN IS WIRED You are not broken. You were shaped by systems that weren't built for you. You deserve rest, joy, and support exactly as you are. She knows what it's like to feel like an outcast, misfit, and truthteller. Learning about the trait of being a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), then learning she is AuDHD with a PDA profile, OCD and RSD, helped Patricia rewrite her history with a deeper understanding, appreciation, and a sense of self-compassion. She created the podcasts Unapologetically Sensitive and Unapologetically AuDHD to help other neurodivergent folks know that they aren't alone, and that having a brain that is wired differently comes with amazing gifts, and some challenges. B has been working in community support for nearly 20 years and is committed to social change on all system levels. Seeing mental health advocacy as a way to serve the community, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology, with a Systems Emphasis, in 2015 and began her private practice, B Lourenco Therapy in 2017. B has also worked in the public school system, providing support to students with behavioral issues that made attending school challenging for them. Highly trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), B became a district-wide expert in supporting neurodivergent students. It was during this work that she began to be critical of the medical models of support for neurodivergence, including ABA. Making the shift from the medical to the Neurodiversity-affirming model has allowed her to finally identify her own neurodivergence, including Autism and ADHD. Combining her lived experience of neurodivergence, along with years of anti-oppression work, B is passionate about helping others untangle themselves from harmful practices and align themselves with those that instead support marginalized communities. In addition to CE events for healthcare providers, she has also been a speaker on panels and podcasts, and also facilitates community based workshops. https://www.blourencotherapy.com LINKS Cascadia Training: https://cascadia-training.com Imani Barbarin—crutches_and_spice IG https://www.instagram.com/crutches_and_spice/ To write a review in itunes: click on this link https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/unapologetically-sensitive/id1440433481?mt=2 select "listen on Apple Podcasts" chose "open in itunes" choose "ratings and reviews" click to rate the number of starts click "write a review" Website--www.unapologeticallysensitive.com Facebook-- https://www.facebook.com/Unapologetically-Sensitive-2296688923985657/ Closed/Private Facebook group Unapologetically Sensitive-- https://www.facebook.com/groups/2099705880047619/ Instagram-- https://www.instagram.com/unapologeticallysensitive/ Youtube-- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOE6fodj7RBdO3Iw0NrAllg/videos?view_as=subscriber Tik Tok--https://www.tiktok.com/@unapologeticallysensitiv Unapologetically AuDHD Podcast-- https://unapologeticallysensitive.com/unapologeticallyaudhd/ e-mail-- unapologeticallysensitive@gmail.com Show hashtag--#unapologeticallysensitive Music-- Gravel Dance by Andy Robinson www.andyrobinson.com

Send us a textA single moment on a New York train set Mitch on a path from early Apple II hacks to a lifelong mission: teach people how to think in ways that unlock action. ShiftED sit down with Mitch Weisburgh, creator of Mind Shifting with Mitch, to explore how small, repeatable techniques can move us from the brain's fast, fearful survival mode into a calmer, creative sage mode—where choices widen, mistakes become feedback, and collaboration actually works.Mitch breaks down the core mechanics of mindset in plain language. Survival mode is quick and binary; it protects but narrows. Sage mode is curious and flexible; it opens paths you can't see when you're tense. The bridge is deceptively simple: a phrase like “perhaps I can” that nudges your mind to search for possibilities—ask for help, change the first step, practice differently. We talk through classroom-ready tools like box breathing and co-regulation, real stories from teachers and families, and a powerful case where pausing to calm the body changed the course of a tough, emotional day.We also go deep on scale and systems. Mitch shares how his courses are built for practice, reflection, and peer learning, why books and study guides help teams embed the habits, and how AI mentors can guide people through the techniques anytime. The goal is bold: reach five million people with resourcefulness, resilience, and collaboration skills, not to erase conflict but to use it well. Complex issues demand better conversations, and better conversations start with a steadier mind. If you're an educator, leader, or parent looking for tools that work under pressure, this one's for you.Subscribe for more mindset, learning, and leadership conversations, and share this episode with someone who needs a simple way to move from stuck to steady. Building a UI in Python usually means choosing between "quick and limited" or "powerful and painful." What if you could write modern, component-based web apps in pure Python and still keep full control? NiceGUI, pronounced "Nice Guy" sits on FastAPI with a Vue/Quasar front end, gives you real components, live updates over websockets, and it's running in production at Zauberzeug, a German robotic company. On this episode, I'm talking with NiceGUI's creators, Rodja Trappe and Falko Schindler, about how it works, where it shines, and what's coming next. We also discuss how much they can put into a Roth IRA. We talk about mitigating capital gains taxes when selling stocks and also discuss how to simplify your portfolio when moving away from individual stocks and into index funds. When your wife says she wants a divorce... and you never saw it coming... it can feel like your world is collapsing. Most men panic in that moment. They chase, plead, argue, or withdraw… all the things that feel natural, but only push her further away. In this episode of the Journey Beyond Divorce Podcast, I sit down with transformational men's coach Tim Wade, who brings over 25 years of experience helping men rebuild their marriages, their confidence, and their lives. Tim shares his own story of reconciliation after eight years of separation and the powerful lessons he's learned guiding thousands of men through crisis and change. We explore: ✅ Why trying to “fix” her never works—and what actually does ✅ How to shift from fear and desperation to calm, grounded confidence ✅ The simple relationship skills your dad never taught you (but your wife wishes you had) ✅ What to do when saving the marriage isn't possible—and how to still come out stronger Tim reminds us that true transformation begins within. Whether you're trying to save your marriage or find peace on the other side of divorce, this conversation offers hope, clarity, and a path forward.
The online course crash isn't a rumor - it's happening right now. After years of information-heavy programs flooding the market, buyers are demanding something more: transformation, not content. In this episode, Tara breaks down exactly why traditional courses are failing and how scalable experts are winning by shifting from information to implementation through proprietary frameworks. She shares how AI has accelerated this shift, why your value no longer lies in what you teach but how you help clients apply it, and how to redesign your offer so it delivers results - without maxing out your time. If your sales have slowed or you're unsure how to evolve, this is your blueprint for thriving after the online course crash.

Today we are chatting with a physician who helped her parents pay cash for their car for the first time in their lives. She was vulnerable with us and shared that her parents don't have great financial habits and are going to need a lot of financial help from her. She has begun to educate them around how to be wise with their money and paying cash for the car was a big step for them. She knows that her parents want to be independent and she sees helping them learn what she has learned about money is a kindness to them that will allow them to be independent longer. After the interview we will talk a bit more about financially helping your parents for Finance 101. This podcast is sponsored by Bob Bhayani at Protuity. Ever wondered how someone could make half their annual photography income in just one week? That's exactly what happened to Megan O'Hare when she ran her first strategic Black Friday promotion. In this episode, I'm sitting down with Megan O'Hare, the powerhouse behind The Photo Project—a course that teaches moms how to organize their digital photo chaos. We're diving deep into how Megan went from making around $7,000 on her first attempt at a Black Friday sale to crushing it with $51,000 the following year using my Black Friday in a Box strategy. She's pulling back the curtain on exactly how she structures her promotions, why her done-for-you service sells out twice a year, and how she's built a business model that allows her to barely touch social media while still growing her email list and revenue consistently. This conversation is packed with strategy gold, including why Megan limits her high-ticket one-to-one offers to just two sale periods per year, how she's made certain products available ONLY during Black Friday (talk about built-in urgency!), and why 95% of her done-for-you clients are people who already bought her course but decided they'd rather just have her do it.What you'll learn:How Megan went from $7K to $51K in Black Friday sales by implementing a strategic promotion planThe exact structure of her 5-day Black Friday sale and why limiting availability creates massive demandWhy her done-for-you service clients are almost always previous course buyers (and what that means for YOUR business model)How she runs a summer sale using the same Black Friday strategy for an additional revenue boostHer approach to making certain products available ONLY during promotional periods to drive urgencyWhy lead generation ads are her "cost of doing business" and how she thinks about ROI differentlyThe truth about her email marketing strategy (spoiler: it's not perfect, and that's okay)How she's structured pricing for her done-for-you service to avoid awkward money conversationsResources Mentioned in this episode:Black Friday in a Box: https://gemmabonhamcarter.com/black-friday The Photo Project: https://thephotoproject.co/ Megan O'Hare on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oharephotos/ Your Next Steps:Work with Me: https://www.gemmabonhamcarter.com/programsWhat I Use to Run My 7-Figure Business: https://gemmabonhamcarter.com/toolsConnect on Social: https://www.instagram.com/gemma.bonhamcarter Support the show

When Charlie Ward built Ramen Club (an online community for SaaS founders) and Ramen Space (a physical coworking hub in London), he found himself running two thriving but different businesses—one online, one offline. In this Hidden Value conversation, David Sherry and Charlie explore what it takes to scale a hybrid business model, balancing physical operations with digital growth. Together, they unpack how sequencing, delegation, and education can unlock new levels of scale—without taking on unnecessary risk.Charlie shares how he's reframing growth from “open another space” to “build digital leverage”, and why his sweet spot lies in teaching founders how to find and validate ideas through smart market research.Key Takeaways• A hybrid model can leverage the best of online and offline communities.• Scaling a physical business requires different strategies than scaling digital.• Educational content creates scalable, de-risked growth opportunities.• Market research should come before user research when validating ideas.• Finding your “sweet spot” means aligning business potential, customer need, and personal excitement.

Ads only fuel what's already working, and I break down the three pieces every course business needs in place to profit from Facebook and Instagram ads: a lead magnet that converts, a launch system that's repeatable, and a low-ticket offer funnel. I show you how each one works, why having at least two already working organically is the key, and how ads can then amplify your results. By the end, you'll know if your business is ready to run ads profitably or what to focus on first before spending a dime. Watch this episode on YouTube! I am SO pumped to share this episode with you because it's proof that the strategies I teach actually work in the real world. My student Stephanie Kase just pulled back the curtain on how she made $20,013 during Black Friday 2024 using my Black Friday in a Box strategy. And she documented EVERYTHING.We're talking about a woman who doubled her previous year's Black Friday results without massive audience growth. She went from making her typical $4-6K flash sales to hitting a goal that honestly seemed ambitious when she set it.What I love most about Stephanie's approach is that she didn't just follow my strategy blindly - she adapted it, tested it, and made it work for her business. She ran five days of deals, used strategic upsells, and even threw in some warm audience Facebook ads that generated a 13.4x return on ad spend. This isn't just about the numbers though. Stephanie breaks down exactly what worked, what didn't, and what she's changing for next year. She's sharing the behind-the-scenes reality of running a successful Black Friday campaign, including the 500 people who unsubscribed (and why she's totally fine with that).Grab Black Friday in a Box while it's on SALE: https://gemmabonhamcarter.com/black-fridayWhat you'll learn:The exact 5-day deal structure that generated over $20K in salesHow strategic upsells and order bumps added $4,100 to her revenueWhy running ads to warm audiences only resulted in 13.4x return on ad spendThe specific email timing strategy that worked (and what didn't)Her biggest mistakes and what she's doing differently in 2025The email subject lines that got the highest open rates during Black Friday weekHow she prepared her audience weeks in advance with a Black Friday catalogThe backend technical issues you need to avoid when running daily dealsResources Mentioned in this Episode:Black Friday in a Box: https://gemmabonhamcarter.com/black-fridayStephanie's breakdown and free Black Friday debrief document here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgJSgXeShB4Your Next Steps:Work with Me: https://www.gemmabonhamcarter.com/programsWhat I Use to Run My 7-Figure Business: https://gemmabonhamcarter.com/toolsConnect on Social: https://www.instagram.com/gemma.bonhamcarter Support the show

Today we are talking with a full time locums doc who has paid off his student loans. He is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and tackled about $400,000 in only 4 years. He refinanced a couple of times and he said it is debatable if that was the right choice, but at the end of the day he just made big payments and poured in everything he could until the loans were done. He said as a locums doc his income is fairly variable so he always has a big chunk of cash available for taxes and expenses and he used that money to wipe out the last of his loans. Despite putting so much towards his loans he has also saved more than half a million dollars and also bought a new car with cash. He also provided a lot of great information about being a locums doc. After the interview we are talking about how dental insurance works for Finance 101. Today we are answering a variety of listener questions. We start out talking about if it is important to have a bank with a branch where you live. If you live in a smaller town should you move from a national or online bank to a smaller local bank or credit union? We then talk about how to save up for big purchases. If you have a big cost coming up like buying a house or a boat where should that money sit while you save up? We then spend some time talking about what to do with your retirement accounts when you move states. We answer a question about diversifying out of Apple stock, then discuss the challenges around what to do when your parents should no longer drive their car. Finally we discuss if you should try to get PSLF. Today's episode is brought to us by SoFi, the folks who help you get your money right. Paying off student debt quickly and getting your finances back on track isn't easy, but that's where SoFi can help — they have exclusive, low rates designed to help medical residents refinance student loans—and that could end up saving you thousands of dollars, helping you get out of student debt sooner. He is a solo practice doctor and feels like his decision to own his own practice made all the difference in both his lifestyle and his finances. After the interview we will be talking more about financial independence for Finance 101. This podcast is sponsored by Bob Bhayani at Protuity.
