Have you ever spent minutes searching for your keys, only to realize they were sitting right in front of you the whole time? Sometimes, we miss God's gifts the same way—hidden in plain sight, woven into our daily lives. Welcome to The Daily. We go through the bible verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter, every single day. Our text today is Ecclesiastes 3:12-13. I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man. — Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 We often look for God in the big, dramatic moments—the miracle, the breakthrough, the answered prayer exactly how we wanted it. When that doesn't happen, we grumble. We assume God is distant, not listening, or withholding something good from us. But what if He's been giving us gifts all along, and we've just been too distracted to notice? This text is Solomon's reminder that joy isn't found in chasing the next big thing but in recognizing the simple gifts God gives daily. Eating a good meal, sharing a laugh with a friend, the satisfaction of a job well done—these are not just ordinary moments. They are divine gifts, placed in our lives by a loving Father who delights in giving good things. Yet how often do we overlook them? We complain about work stress instead of thanking God for the job that provides. We grumble about the weather instead of appreciating the warmth of a morning cup of coffee. We focus on what we lack rather than rejoicing in what we have. What would change if we started praising God for the small things? What if, instead of waiting for something grand, we simply thanked Him for the breath in our lungs, the roof over our heads, or the kindness of a stranger? Today's Challenge: Write down three small gifts in the comments below. Then thank God for each one. Lord, help me see Your gifts in the small, simple moments. Fill my heart with gratitude today. Amen. #Gratitude #GodsGifts #EverydayBlessings ASK THIS: What simple gift did you overlook recently? How do you define joy in your daily life? What small moment brought you unexpected happiness today? How can gratitude shift your perspective on tough days? DO THIS: Write down three small gifts you're thankful for and thank God for each one. PRAY THIS: Lord, open my eyes to see the gifts You place in my life each day. Fill my heart with gratitude for even the smallest blessings. Amen. PLAY THIS: I Thank God.

God's Goodness #RTTBROS #Nightlight Finding God's Goodness in Every Season "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." - Philippians 4:8 #GratefulHeart #OvercomeNegativity #DailyPraise In the wilderness, God's people often struggled with a peculiar affliction - they saw giants where they should have seen grapes, problems where they should have perceived promises. Sound familiar? Our minds, wonderfully created by God, came equipped with what scientists now call a "negativity bias" - an ancient survival tool that helped our ancestors spot danger and stay alive. But here's the divine paradox: what once preserved us physically can now hinder us spiritually. Think about the twelve spies sent to scout the Promised Land. Ten returned with reports of insurmountable obstacles, while Joshua and Caleb saw the same land through eyes of faith. "We are well able to overcome it," they declared (Numbers 13:30). What made the difference? Their focus. Just as our ancestors needed heightened awareness of dangers, we once required this keen eye for the negative. But now, in Christ, we're called to a higher perspective. The Lord commands us to "give thanks in everything" (1 Thessalonians 5:18), not because everything is good, but because He is good in everything. When we find ourselves caught in the trap of negativity bias, remember: - God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7) - We're transformed by the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2) - The joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10) Prayer Point: Lord, help me recognize when my ancient survival instincts overshadow Your eternal promises. Transform my tendency to spot problems into an ability to see possibilities. Let my first response be gratitude, not critique. In Jesus' name, Amen. Today's Challenge: Write down three blessings you might have overlooked today. Train your mind to seek evidence of God's goodness as diligently as it once sought signs of danger. Remember, a heart trained in gratitude becomes a beacon of His glory. Our testimony isn't just in surviving life's challenges, but in finding reasons to praise even amidst them. Honestly, I tend to complicate things. I can find myself longing for more and then, I re-read and see again the simple, powerful, complete truth of just being at the feet of Jesus in His word. Join me in Psalm 119:1-8 and discover how living according to God's Word leads to a blessed life. Obedience, praise, seeking God wholeheartedly, equipping yourself to dwell richly in Scripture - this is how to find purpose and blessing in every day. Dwelling in the Word and letting the Word dwell in us richly is different than reading the Bible or reading a devotional with Bible passages. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly and return the favor by dwelling in the Word - not "doing" Bible study, not simply reading - but moving into the Word with heart, soul, mind, and strength. It's being intentional in making a shift from treating the Word of God like a self-help book to letting it dwell in us as the living Word of God that it is. Commit to Daily Scripture Reading: Set aside time each day to read a portion of Psalm 119 or another meaningful passage. Engage in Personal Reflection: Journal about how God's Word is impacting your life and thoughts as you study. Join the Challenge: Write out Psalm 119 verse by verse and reflect on its meaning in your life. You're never GOOD enough to secure your FUTURE. You're never too LATE to respond in the PRESENT. BOTTOM LINE: Who you USED to be isn't who you HAVE to be. What makes you say "gosh, must be nice."? What makes you assume "her life is easier…" I used to look at people skinnier than me, or prettier than me, and I deeply wanted to be them. The Challenge: Write down all of the automatic negative thoughts you have about yourself over the course of a day. In this episode, my friend Kim and I discuss our critical internal dialogue and how the way we speak to ourselves affects our lives. Where did this mean voice come from, and what can we do about it?
In this episode, the creatives discuss pages 13-26 pages of Steven Pressfield's The War of Art. For this week, we talk over the following challenges: Pages 13-26 Fear doesn't go away--so you are always going to combat it. What role does fear play in your everyday life? What about in your long term plans? Challenge: Write down three big things you're scared of, and three little, and then three super little. Pick one and do it. “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” (Frank Herbert) Self-sabotage: Odysseus opening bag at the end--similar experience? Sabotage by others--How do you negotiate toxic relationships? Have you ever sabotaged someone else? Why do you think you did that? Challenge: Think of one toxic friend who tried to sabotage you. Why do you think they did that? How has it impacted you? Process if you can that sense of betrayal creatively. Resistance symptoms: Procrastination Self-indulgence Getting into trouble Creating drama Over-medicating Challenge: Fast three days from something you use to procrastinate or numb yourself e.g. alcohol, instagram, etc Pick a song you like. Don't do anything else but listen to that song. Turn it up really loud. Try to just be present without thinking about anything but the sound waves. And you have a grasp of the external self-awareness. And that's what other people think of you. Look for these alarm clock moments. Those are going to be situations that are either new roles or new rules. Earthquake events that shake us up, or everyday insights. Ensure that when things are going on in life that gives you insights into you and the world around you that you make sure that you listen, make sure that you're not focusing on yourself when trying to gain self-awareness. Focusing on other people can give us almost as much insight as ruminating, mulling over, or just concentrate on ourselves to make sure we get the right feedback, which means the right people, the right questions, and the right processes. Ensure that they have exposure to your behavior that you're asking for feedback on and that you trust that person. Make sure you ask them specific questions, maybe even written down. focus on only one or two things Challenge Write down a few sentences on your life areas. You want to have more self-awareness. Is it your friendships, your faith, your work? And try to figure out what's the one or two areas that you could really succeed with knowing more about yourself and more about what other people think about you in that area.

“…not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” ( 2 Peter 3:9)“to seek and save those who are lost." (Lk. 19:10)God's great desire is that all of humanity would find salvation and forgiveness in Jesus. God has no other agenda. He has no other plan. This is why Jesus came. This is why He established the church, so that in every nation and in every neighborhood there would be a witness of the saving grace of Jesus. The word “lost” is a term Jesus uses to describe someone who has not yet come to a point of faith and trust in Christ. They may be searching for truth but they are looking for it in all the wrong places. As I think of those of us who are followers of Jesus, those of us who are his disciples…do we truly recognize that people around us are lost and without hope, unless they come to know Christ?Leonard Ravenhill, Why Revival Tarries….“The problem with Christians in America is we're not concerned over lost people. We are not concerned enough to cry. He said, “A man and a woman will weep when their little pet gets run over in the street in front of their house, but that same couple has never wept one tear because their neighbor across the street is lost without Jesus. Something is wrong.”He writes, “A woman will cry when her daughter walks down the aisle of a church to be married, but that same mother has never shed one tear because that same daughter has never been saved. Something is wrong.”How do we do this? When you and I reach out to those in our families, and those in our workplace, and those we go to school with, and those in our neighborhood, and those little league families and say, “I want to tell you about Jesus. I want to tell you about the difference he has made in my life. I want you to come to church with me and see what God is doing. That's how we reach lost people. It's important to understand how people are influenced to place their faith in Jesus. Studies have been done asking people, “what led you to faith in Christ?”1% - evangelistic crusades4% - church evangelistic programs5% - walked into a church8% - a pastor76% through friends and relativesIn John 1:41 - When Jesus calls Andrew to follow and to be a disciple the bible says… “The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is, the Christ)."Today's Challenge: Write down the names of three family members or friends and commit to praying daily for their salvation. Ask God to give you the courage to invite them to church with you. Begin sharing with them the difference Jesus has made in your life. And let's pray that God would help us sense the urgency of the gospel message.Discussion Questions:What means did God use to bring you to salvation through Christ?Who is on your "list?"What steps are you taking to bring them to Christ?Recommended Resource: Why Revival Tarries by Leonard RavenhillVisit the website: 5MinuteDiscipleship.comFollow on social:Facebook.com/5minutediscipleshipInstagram.com/5minutediscipleshipClick here to learn how you can start your own podcast.

03:41 - Being Efficient in Life 09:50 - Sex trafficking 15:21 - Fiduciary Role 40:20 - What type of Advice you would give to yourself? 43:34 - Hear from Sammy Hagar (The Red Rocker) How to Become More Efficient in Life “Complexity is the enemy of execution.” You don't have to be an entrepreneur in order to relate to this segment. Whether you are or not, a lot of times our ideas come from us wanting to solve a problem in the outside world. Whether, it's wanting to improve something you are using each and every day, or the services already within a business or industry, that you think could be improved. When you come up with an idea, don't overwhelm yourself with thinking about everything you have to do all at once. You will, without a doubt run into challenges along the way, but it's not about the challenges or our fears of stumbling, it's about mentally staying there and not giving up on your goal. Simplify what you're doing by sticking to just one phase of the idea at a time. Focus on your main purpose without looking 10 years down the road. One main reason why your great ideas "die out" is you don't do anything with them. A great way to accomplish nothing is to attempt to do everything. Break up your big idea into several small ideas, by asking yourself these questions… How do I help one client right now? How can I improve this one area of an industry? Challenge: Write your idea down, and note why you think the market would want your idea. Start small, using Facebook to gain feedback by sending out messages to friends or people you know, sharing your thoughts and ideas. Then, pick out 4 or 5 people who can help take your idea to the next level. How to Improve The World Around You. You may want to add value to people in other ways. One huge problem in the world is the sex trafficking industry. Today, there are more than 20 million kids in the world that are trapped in slavery. The very best way to eradicate this issue is by good people like us, stepping out and doing something. The reason evil grows is that good people choose to do nothing. One way you can become more involved in ending this sex trafficking industry is through an effort called “Operation Underground Railroad.” Here's how you can become a part of this movement: Place of Hope Christ Fellowship's Hope For Freedom Live Action - The Child Sex Trafficking Cover Up Understanding the Role of a Fiduciary Basically, a fiduciary is a person other than yourself, who acts as a financial advisor for you. This financial advisor helps manage your money and investments, giving you advice and the steps you should take that align with your best interest. Many of the "advisors" at the companies you may know about, such as Wells Fargo and Merrill Financial are not fiduciaries. Most of the time these companies are brokers. Tony Robbins, 6-time best-selling author, discusses the ideas and importance of a fiduciary, as well as giving expert advice in his latest book, “Unshakeable.” Giving Advice to Yourself. If you could go back in time and give your younger self some advice, what would it be, and why would it be that? What are you doing to actively pursue good advice in your life? Make sure your decisions are based on your future opportunities. Whether that has to do with your wealth, improving your life, or your relationships. Regardless of your age or the situation you are in at this moment, focus on where you want to go and where you want to be 20-30 years down the road. Evaluate, and discover the steps you need to take in order to reach that goal. Our end result all comes down to our consistent actions over time and the choices we make along the way. We can all agree that nothing happens by accident. Sammy Hagar's Advice to Younger Sammy Hear what Sammy Hagar had to say. He was the lead singer of Van Halen and is known as the Red Rocker, and during this short clip of the interview he speaks about what advice he gave to himself and continues to give himself throughout his life. Sammy talks about the lessons he has learned from his mistakes, and the people who have helped him throughout his life. If you want to hear the full interview and see a clip, you can click the link below to our Facebook page and request it at any time. https://www.facebook.com/MichaelWallShow/

Okay, some of you will have no problem with this particular challenge whatsoever. You have lots of opinions and you do not mind sharing them at all in your conversation but also on your blog. This is the central type of post that you create on your post, on your blog but for many bloggers, myself included, sharing your opinion is something that may not come naturally for you. I was brought up by my parents, who I love dearly, to keep my opinions to myself. As a result, it’s something that I found as a blogger took me way outside my comfort zone particularly when I first started. I was always thinking to myself as I was considering sharing my opinion, “What are other people going to think about this opinion?” “How are they going to react?” “Are they going to share their opinion?” “Will their opinion differ to mine?” I guess, for me mostly,

Challenge: Create a Link Post This is 7th and final challenge in ProBlogger’s 7 Days to Getting Your Blogging Groove Back Challenge that we kicked off back in episode 137. You can listen to this podcast in the player above or here on iTunes (please take a moment to give us a rating and review if you could). If you’re new to the challenge - this week I’m nominating a different style of content for you to create each day over the week and the challenge is to create a post within 24 hours of hearing about it and then sharing it with us in our ProBlogger Challenge Group on FB on this thread. All week hundreds of bloggers have been creating some great posts and today I’m going to present you with a last post in the challenge that has the potential to share the love around our community a little. Before I tell you about today’s challenge…. I also quickly want to tell you about something that is happening in a couple of days time - we’re putting virtual tickets on sale for this year’s ProBlogger event. We hold an annual event for bloggers here in Australia each year and this year - by popular demand - we’re bringing back our virtual ticket so that those of you unable to get out to Australia can come along virtually and get all the amazing teaching we offer live attendees. Today my challenge for you is to create a piece of content that links to someone else’s content. A link post. One of the reasons I was first attracted to blogging was its collaborative nature. Blogs linked from one to another freely and regularly. We linked out when we were inspired by another blogger, when we agreed with another blogger, when we disagreed, when we wanted to encourage them and sometimes just to be useful to our readers. That was back in 2002 but since that time link sharing has gradually gone to other mediums more and more. Today more sharing of links happens on Twitter or Facebook but less so on blogs. This is possibly for good reason, but I sometimes fear that perhaps in losing the link post that maybe we’ve lost something as a community and maybe our readers have too. Benefits of Linking Out to Good Content You Didn’t Create: If you link to good stuff it serves your readers It can show that you’re well read and add to your own credibility It helps you to get on the radar of others that you link to - good things can come from that - great for networking If groups link to one another it can help to pass traffic around I’m told it can actually help your Search rankings if you link to quality sites Approaches You Might Take with Today’s Challenge: Write something inspired by another blogger Find a collection of things to link to on a common theme Create a “reading roundup” Another idea - why not head over to the FB Challenge Group and find a few articles from this last week to be the basis of your link post. Find half a dozen articles that are relevant to your niche or that you got some inspiration in and create a post based upon that. The key 3 things I would encourage you to keep in mind: Keep it relevant to your audience/topic/niche Make sure you link to quality content Add a little something of your own - tell people why they should read it, add a thought or two etc. This makes it unique and shows you’ve actually read what you’re linking to and have your own thoughts on the matter. The challenge: Challenge - create a link post. It could be a blog post, video or social media post Share it in our FB Group Check out some of the other link posts that others have created - encourage, support etc. Lastly - thanks SOOO much for this last week. I hope you’ve got back into the groove. I’m going to keep the FB group open for at least a few weeks and I’m thinking about doing some more of these in the future so may keep the group open. We won’t do them daily but maybe once or twice a month. I’ll run a poll in the group in the coming week or so to get you...

Firstly, it’s something most of us are familiar with, we’ve all read them.

You can find today's show notes at problogger.com/podcast/47. It has been a while since we've done a writing challenge. If not, you might want to stop listening, but if you're up for a challenge and you want to write a post today and then come back and share that post with us, then here's what I want you to do.
