Focus on metrics like saves, shares, comments, and profile visits to fine-tune your Instagram marketing strategy. The "Attorney Filter": Before posting personal content, run it through the "attorney filter" by asking, "Would I be comfortable if my attorney posted this?" It's a simple way to maintain professionalism and credibility as a transformational coach.Engagement in Stories: Use interactive content like “this or that” polls in Stories to engage with your audience and gain insights, a vital part of marketing your business on Instagram to potential coaching clients.Building Community: Engage daily with a core group of industry peers to build relationships and drive organic engagement on your posts. A supportive community is invaluable for marketing and scaling your coaching business on Instagram.Testing and Iteration: Experiment with different content, learn from failures, and refine your strategy. The key is to fail forward and use the data to improve your Instagram marketing efforts.Content Analysis and RepurposingWhat to Do Next: After tracking your posts' performance, identify the winners and repurpose them in new formats. For example, transform a successful infographic into a carousel post or a reel, keeping your content fresh and relevant to your Instagram marketing strategy.Tweaking: Try changing color schemes or slightly modifying headlines to appeal to different segments of your audience, allowing you to explore what works best for marketing your business on Instagram.Handling Viral ContentViral content is great for engaging your current community but doesn't always bring in new clients or convert into coaching leads.Use viral content sparingly, and manage your expectations regarding its business impact on marketing your business on Instagram.Daily Instagram EngagementBuild a core group of peers in your industry and engage with their content regularly to foster a community that supports your Instagram marketing strategy.Spend time commenting and starting conversations on their pages to cultivate authentic connections.Rotate through

His clients call him “The Youtube ads guy.” He has overseen $22.2 million in ad spend over the last 12 months alone. Now on The Business of You, Youtube ad expert Tom Breeze is sharing some of his time-tested marketing secrets with us! Tom is the Creator and Founder of multiple brands: YouTube ad agency Viewability, and Bidurk, a YouTube content analysis software that helps you create better videos and grow your audience online. Viewability is an innovative, world-leading YouTube ad agency that partners with companies selling digital products to get reliable, profitable customers at scale. With over a decade of Youtube advertising experience, Tom and his team at Viewability have successfully cracked the formula for advertising on YouTube. Viewability is a performance-based agency, which means they only get paid when they get results. Tom Breeze worked to develop Bidurk, a new tool that scans an entire Youtube channel to identify areas for growth and opportunity. After identifying that Youtube channel creators were spending too much time desperately trying to grow their following, Tom realized that he had a way to increase results, decrease time spent and massively impact leads. Bidurk expedites the process of growing a Youtube channel by providing data and insight. Recently, Tom launched an exclusive, performance-based YouTube advertising club, Ad Buyers Club, where he shares bespoke advice with his members and gives them access to his entire expert team and network of contacts. Additionally, Tom Breeze is the Author of Viewability: Harness the Power of Youtube Ads and Show Up for Your Customer. He speaks passionately at conferences and conventions worldwide. Educated at the University of Leeds (UK), Tom achieved a Bachelor of Psychology degree and then continued his education at University of Surrey (UK) where he was awarded his Master of Psychology degree. After running several successful companies in the fields of presentation skills training, video marketing and online marketing, Tom specialized in the field of video advertising. Be willing to take big risks When Tom began running Youtube ads, he saw big opportunity. He also knew that he was willing to take big risks. Tom promised his client that he would cover the cost of his ad spend - if the client would pay him for results. After negotiating a dollar amount per lead, Tom got to work. When the numbers came back, everyone was happy. With his first major campaign, Tom made a 5x return on his investment and his client was raking in new leads. By willing to bet on himself, Tom had successfully proven what he was capable of. Even now, a decade later, Tom and his team at Viewability cover the ad spend of their clients - knowing that the results will create major profit. The five A's of Youtube advertising Youtube advertising is often seen as complicated, and entrepreneurs are frequently intimidated. But as Tom explains it, all you need are the five A's. Tom lists Audience, Ads, Acquisition, Accounts and Attitude as the secrets to great Youtube advertising. Audience means that there is already an audience on Youtube - as in, people are there for the content you are offering already. While you can build or attract an audience, advertising is much easier when this infrastructure exists. Ask yourself - are people on Youtube searching for the content you want to create? In the five A's of Youtube marketing, Ads is defined as the client's own ability to create good ads. Tom and his team at Viewability specifically work with clients who are good on camera and confidently speak about their offerings. Having a great personality on video is more likely to resonate with the right viewers, increasing the ad's likelihood to succeed. Acquisition refers to how you attract leads in your marketing funnel, and the quality of your offering. Is your offer converting? While anyone can get started advertising on Youtube, Tom acknowledges that prior ad data is a huge help. The fourth A stands for Accounts - and the supply of advertising data you can pull from to craft a profitable Youtube ad. What advertising have you done in the past and what did you learn about your audience? When it comes to advertising on the Youtube platform, being specific about your audience's behavior can pay off big time. Lastly, Tom names the last A as Attitude - because a healthy attitude towards marketing can make or break your success. When working with his clients, Tom and his team assess their attitude and expectations. What is their company's objective? What are their current goals? Do they have a flexible and resilient mindset? If you're curious about scaling your business with consistent, profitable Youtube ads, this episode is for you. Quotes “I wouldn't say I'm the cleverest person but I work hard. I'll outwork most people. If I find something interesting, I go deeper and deeper to find out more about that subject matter… sometimes, to the point where I go too deep.” “I'm quite happy with high risk. As long as the opportunity's big.” “With advertising, I find that the rules can change month to month. It's easier to keep on top of that for one client - it's harder to do that with lots of clients.” “The five things I look for when running a good Youtube ad are: They have to have a good audience already on the Youtube platform. The second thing is ads - can the clients create good ads? Then there is acquisition - saying, do you have a funnel? Is there a good offer that converts? Then you have the account - your ad account and how it is working, if you have results already. The fifth is your attitude - what the client is demanding, or wanting.” “Youtube consumers are looking for information or entertainment. Think of what the audience would be typing in.” “If you have a personality in a video, those people can educate and give value really effectively.” “How you get started on Youtube is really, really important. Go and create really good content.” “The whole idea is to amplify what you're already doing on Youtube - identifying what content already works for you, and get in front of more and more people.” Links mentioned in this episode: Visit the website for Viewability at https://viewability.co/ Check out Bidurk at https://www.bidurk.com/home Connect with Tom directly on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/tombreeze/ Find Tom on Facebook at https://en-gb.facebook.com/TomBreezeOfficial Buy Tom's book Viewability: Harness the Power of Youtube Ads and Show Up for Your Customer at https://www.viewability.co.uk/book
I went to SLAS this spring to talk to old friends, meet some new ones and learn whatever I could. I met Maggie Vantangoli, the Director of Marketing at Araceli Biosciences in their booth where we chatted about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for high content analysis (HCA) in drug discovery and development. She was kind enough to join me on this podcast and fill in the (large) holes in my knowledge of cell biology. HCA is basically automated microscopy and analysis of fluorescently-stained (or otherwise) cells to identify changes caused by various compounds. This rich phenotypic information can provide valuable insights into how a drug or compound might work or whether it could be toxic. You can listen to the podcast to learn about how HCA is used to group compounds based on the morphological changes in cells exposed to them. A few things stood out for me. In terms of AI, the most interesting application was that of unsupervised learning, where the AI can learn to detect patterns that a human might not look for or even see if they were looking. One can imagine that a lot of information about biology could be uncovered aside from evaluating potential therapies. When I asked about where HCA might go in the future, Maggie talked about doing tests on organoids as a replacement for animal models. This is a topic that has come up in a few of my conversations lately on and off this podcast.I also asked Maggie what she thought about the possibilities for combining HCA with DoE (Design of Experiments) that I featured a few episodes back. Thankfully, she listened to that episode. (You should too.)I definitely think there are amazing applications here and you know, I think it's a massive amount of untapped potential, particularly in that high content space.I know that different aspects of drug discovery are getting there, particularly like the structure-activity type relationships. But I think this is a completely untapped market for the DoE type of type of work and there's huge amounts of applications because high content's also, you know, per assay, like most assays in drug discovery, there's cost associated there and that's not... When you're scaling up, that is not in insignificant amounts of money. So running millions or even tens of thousands of compounds a day with staining and all the liquid handling and tips and all of that is, is quite expensive. The amount put into that one little plate is extremely expensive. So you can kind of do your work ahead of time and, and utilize the Design of Experiments to stack the deck in your favor. Sorry to interrupt here, but you are subscribed aren't you?I get a special joy out of when two episodes connect in that way. I'm going to see if we can get Maggie to come back with Markus to discuss the possibilities.I'd love to hear what you think of this episode or the podcast overall. Feel free to drop a comment. Also, if you want to talk about custom content for your life science brand, let's chat. This is a public episode. If you didn't already know, I do love some good reality T.V. and in this episode we are (mostly) talking about Love is Blind. If you've watched Season 4 I think all I have to say is Zack, Irina, and Bliss and you will know exactly what I'm talking about today... Reality T.V. is entertaining, but it also inadvertently becomes a weird sort of case study. Plenty of shows call authenticity into question whether it's the authenticity of the participants or the authenticity of the show itself. You could give these shows the benefit of the doubt and believe that the people who are casted on these shows are showing you who they are authentically even when the cameras aren't rolling. What happens when it becomes very clear that someone is in fact not being authentic at all? This is the 100th episode of Mentors on the Mic podcast, so I discuss how I started podcasting, my gratitude for my audience and mentors, and celebrating our wins. Our Mentor this week is Shaurya Nanavati, who manages the greenlighting process and provides guidance to drive content, distribution, and strategy decisions. Prior to his work at Lionsgate, he managed a music publishing company, wrote & toured as a musician, and, as a CPA, worked in public accounting at PwC in Texas. Shaurya considers himself a citizen of the world - born in India and raised between Mumbai and Houston. Post high school, he travelled to Austin where he obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at The University of Texas at Austin. After his stint in the world of music, he moved to Los Angeles to obtain an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and pursue a career transition to filmed entertainment. In this episode, we talk about: • Going from CPA to Hollywood and how he realized early that his passion for music would not earn the lifestyle he wanted • He started researching people he wanted to be like and saw what they did, deciding whether to pursue Law or a Business degree. • Why he went to business school for the networking and how that helped him find the job he wanted • Getting an internship at 30 and why age shouldn't discourage you from doing anything • Whether they are more focused on development or acquisitions at Lionsgate • Filmmakers choose Lionsgate because they are the best place for storytellers and talent within the parameters of being a smart financial decision (plus great marketing) • "It's a lot of effort to learn what you know, but it takes an equal amount of effort to try to put yourself in the situation and the places you want to be." In this episode published on Friday May 13, 2022, hosts Katherine Troyer and Toni Tresca turn to a new franchise... That's right, we discuss the film that started it all: the 1980 horror slasher film Friday the 13th. Episode Highlights: We talk about the great use of practical effects and the terrific music of this film. We examine how this film explores issues of gender--from its depiction of Alice as a final girl, to its surprising lack of gendered violence, to the consequence of having a slasher film where the final showdown is between two women. Looking at the film's location, we look at how Friday the 13th establishes itself within an existing conversation in American culture about the fear of the wilderness and what looks there. And we discuss whether or not this film should be classified as affirmative or disaffirmative. A Dose of Scholarship: We highly encourage you to check out Horror Homeroom's first special issue: "Friday the 13th at 40," which we reference in this episode. We also discussed James B. Weaver III's 1990 article "Are 'Slasher' Films Sexually Violent? A Content Analysis;" Hayley McCullough's 2019 article "Evaluating the Integrative Complexity of Main Characters in Horror Films;" and the 2015 article "Embodying the Moral Code? Thirty Years of Final Girls in Slasher Films" by Angela Weaver, Dana Menard, Christine Cabrera, and Angela Taylor. This podcast episode first aired on May 13, 2022. Who is amazing? The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. The demand for occupational therapists in Canada is expected to grow sharply at an annual growth rate of 3.2%, compared to 0.7% for all occupations. At the same time, it is believed by occupational therapists in Canada that the Canadian public does not understand the role of occupational therapy. Occupational science is an emerging basic science field that supports the practice of occupational therapy. Given that newspapers are one source the public uses to obtain information and that newspapers are seen to shape public opinions, the purpose of this study is to investigate how “occupational therapy” is covered in Canadian newspapers from the term's first appearance in 1917 until 2016 and how “occupational science” is covered from the term's first appearance in 1989 to 2016.

I had a conversation with Jonathan Solity because of my interest in developing curricula that supports student learning. In this talk, Jonathan and I discuss how to support children using instructional psychology, rational/ content analysis, Pareto's principle, and Haring and Eaton's (1978) Learning Hierarchy. Jonathan emphasises the importance of teaching the most useful knowledge/skills first using the inherent generative principles within a particular body of content. At the end of the talk Jonathan makes suggestions for how EPs can support teachers in promoting early reading and maths skills.I hope you enjoy the talk!Dr Nazam Hussain (Educational Psychologist)See below for links to references (I could have added many more!) Portrayal of interactions between humans and coyotes, content analysis of Canadian Print Media 1998-2010 isn't the most enthralling of titles. But the study below it had a significant impact on my career and how I perceive and engage with media. The paper, which appeared in Cities and The Environment ten years ago, looked into how coyote interactions with people are discussed in the media; the findings floored me in when I first read the paper, and they remain a part of media sensationalism seminars I've given over the last decade. Rather than try to explain what this paper was about, I'll skip ahead to the interview with coauthor of the study Dr. Shelley Alexander of the University of Calgary. But first, I wanted to let you know that Defender Radio and The Switch are going to have an awesome giveaway starting next week! To make sure you get the details, follow me on Instagram @howiemichael and sign up to receive email updates at DefenderRadio.com or TheFurBearers.com. Links are in this week's show notes – the contest starts the first week of November, so stay tuned. Now, here's Dr. Shelley Alexander sharing her views, ten years later, of ten years of media content analysis, her own experiences with sensationalism and how they've impacted her role as a researcher and educator. This episode features Dr Lucy Selman (Palliative and End of Life Care Research Group, Population Health Sciences, Bristol Medical School, University of Bristol, Bristol, UK). Twitter is a rich repository of data reflecting contemporaneous public opinion. The idea of dying alone is contrary to the concept of a ‘good death' in many cultures, and not being able to say goodbye is a known risk factor for poor bereavement outcomes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many bereaved people have been unable to be present when their loved one died due to setting-specific infection control restrictions that vary across regions and institutions. Twitter users expressed sadness, despair, hopelessness and anger about their experience and loss during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the challenges they experienced before the death compounded by a lack of social support and disrupted rituals afterwards. A sense of political neglect or mistreatment was frequently expressed, alongside calls for action, but Twitter users also used the platform to encourage positive public health messages, express condolences to and support others, and pay tribute to the deceased. There was ambivalence about the use of video-conferencing technology, which was often presented as an inadequate substitute, and frustration and blame were directed at governments' inaction and policies as well as the behaviour of the general public. Governments should provide clear guidance to support end-of-life care providers in facilitating and optimising contact with loved ones, even when strict visiting policies are necessary; this must include adequate access to personal protective equipment. Signposting bereaved family members and friends to bereavement services, and proactively identifying and supporting those at particular risk of poor outcomes, is as crucial during a pandemic, as it is in non-pandemic times. Further research is needed to fully understand the emotional toll expressed in these tweets and the immediate and sustained impacts of bereavement during the pandemic.
This episode summarizes a content analysis I did based on responses to the Lil Nas X video "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" released a couple months ago. The proud queer black artist made waves with this video ripe with religious symbolism, allegory. and allusion. Yet, notably, his identity was not roundly rejected.

Background: This research is an investigation into the role of expert quotes in health news, specifically whether news articles containing a quote from an independent expert are less often exaggerated than articles without such a quote. Methods: Retrospective quantitative content analysis of journal articles, press releases, and associated news articles was performed. The investigated sample are press releases on peer-reviewed health research and the associated research articles and news stories. Our sample consisted of 462 press releases and 668 news articles from the UK (2011) and 129 press releases and 185 news articles from The Netherlands (2015). We hand-coded all journal articles, press releases and news articles for correlational claims, using a well-tested codebook. The main outcome measures are types of sources that were quoted and exaggeration of correlational claims. We used counts, 2x2 tables and odds ratios to assess the relationship between presence of quotes and exaggeration of the causal claim. Results: Overall, 99.1% of the UK press releases and 84.5% of the Dutch press releases contain at least one quote. For the associated news articles these percentages are: 88.6% in the UK and 69.7% in the Netherlands. Authors of the study are most often quoted and only 7.5% of UK and 7.0% of Dutch news articles contained a new quote by an expert source, i.e. one not provided by the press release. The relative odds that an article without an external expert quote contains an exaggeration of causality is 2.6. Conclusions: The number of articles containing a quote from an independent expert is low, but articles that cite an external expert do contain less exaggeration. We explore the alleged phenomenon of teachers getting bad dreams and nightmares, more often than everyone else, starting with several engineering teachers' most memorable ones. Do other teachers really get these dreams? Why do they get them? What should they do about them, if anything? Based on a little reading and communication with experts, we developed some preliminary answers to those questions. Our social consciousness reserves the role of fighter solely for men. Women are not considered as being authoritative or decisive actors in the context of war and violence. During armed conflicts or other violent crises, female acting subjects seem to leave the public (i.e. media) stage – a place where they are underrepresented even under normal circumstances. Furthermore, media coverage of war, it is said, largely assigns the role of the victim to women. However, there is not much empirical evidence to support this view due to the significant lack of longitudinal quantitative studies on media coverage of women during wartime. In order to investigate this, a framing analysis of media coverage of war between 1989 and 2000 was conducted in Germany. This article reports on the results of this framing analysis and the representation of women during wartime in quality German newspapers. It is the first longitudinal gender-specific framing analysis of war coverage ever carried out in any country.
A look at research on how media coverage is having an influence Muslims, and whether cultural proximity has a role to play in this.
What are content audits and content maps, and why should they matter to companies who publish information on the Web? Chiara Fox, a senior information architect for Adaptive Path, defines the art of Content Analysis in the scope of web application design and migration. She identifies several milestones and key deliverables that most companies can use on their next (re)design project. Content analysis is a core component of the information architect's toolkit. Content analysis is the examination of the content and features that make up a website. Through a content audit, or sampling of representative pieces of content, an information architect can understand the relationships, interdependencies and patterns that exist within the current content on the site. This process also allows the information architect to understand requirements and constraints inherent in the content. Content genres, or types, can be identified and used to create a content map of the site and site templates. The content map provides the basic building blocks for gap analysis, which maps user tasks with the content genres.
