This week, we start a new series all about appreciating the shredded, gravelly, gritty, raspy pipes and throats of rock n' roll. We are focusing on lead singers who crafted truly special tones with their sandpapered delivery. Join us in celebrating these unique sets of pipes that set them apart from all the others. Anyone can scream, but only a few deliver gravel, grit & glory! What's this InObscuria thing? We're a podcast that exhumes obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal and puts them in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. Our appreciation, this week, of rough and textured singing extends to all of the genres that we love. Kevin never realized how much this style of vocalizing had an impact on him until putting this whole thing together. As always, we hope we turn you onto something new!Songs this week include:Metal Church – “Ton Of Bricks” from The Dark (1986)Hot Water Music – “Trademark” from Fuel For The Hate Game (1997)Love/Hate – “Blackout In The Red Room” from Blackout In The Red Room (1990)The Baboon Show – “Gold” from God Bless You All (2022)Grave Digger – “Hymn Of The Damned” from The Living Dead (2018)The Distillers – “Die On A Rope” from Coral Fang (2003)Asomvel – “Born To Rock ‘n' Roll” from Born To Rock ‘n' Roll(2024)Please subscribe everywhere that you listen to podcasts!Visit us: https://inobscuria.com/https://www.facebook.com/InObscuriahttps://x.com/inobscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/Buy cool stuff with our logo on it!: https://www.redbubble.com/people/inobscuria/og-shopCheck out Robert's amazing fire sculptures and metal workings here: http://flamewerx.com/If you'd like to check out Kevin's band THE SWEAR, take a listen on all streaming services or pick up a digital copy of their latest release here: https://theswear.bandcamp.com/If you want to hear Robert and Kevin's band from the late 90s – early 00s BIG JACK PNEUMATIC, check it out here: https://bigjackpnuematic.bandcamp.com/

Jizzy Pearl has been a force in hard rock for decades, and he's not slowing down. His latest album, Punk Rock Fiesta, brings together his signature raw vocals, punchy riffs, and a touch of punk energy. At the same time, he's hitting the road for the Blackout in the Red Room tour, celebrating Love/Hate's classic debut album. Fans can expect a mix of new material and the songs that made the band a cult favorite in the early ‘90s. Love/Hate first made waves in 1990 with Blackout in the Red Room, an album that stood out from the glam rock crowd with its attitude, grit, and groove-heavy sound. Tracks like Why Do You Think They Call It Dope? earned them critical praise and a devoted following. While they didn't reach mainstream superstardom, the band built a reputation for energetic live shows and a no-nonsense approach to rock ‘n' roll. As music trends shifted, Love/Hate struggled to maintain their early momentum, but Pearl kept going. Over the years, he's fronted bands like L.A. Guns, Ratt, and Quiet Riot, bringing his unmistakable voice to different audiences. Despite lineup changes and industry challenges, he's always stayed true to the hard rock sound that first put him on the map. With Punk Rock Fiesta, Pearl delivers an album that feels both fresh and familiar. It blends punk influences with his hard rock roots, showing that he's still got plenty of fire left. Meanwhile, the Blackout in the Red Room tour is a chance for longtime fans to relive the energy of Love/Hate's early days while introducing a new generation to their music. Through it all, Jizzy Pearl remains dedicated to rock ‘n' roll. Whether recording new music or performing classic songs, he continues to prove why he's one of the most enduring frontmen in the scene. With his latest album and tour, he's keeping the spirit of Love/Hate alive while forging ahead with his own brand of hard-hitting, honest rock. https://www.youtube.com/@JPearlTV https://www.facebook.com/jizzypearlofficial/ https://www.instagram.com/jizzypearlofficial/?hl=en
Quiet Riot reached legendary status with their 1983 release Metal Health, becoming the first heavy metal group to reach #1 on the Billboard charts and changing the landscape of music in he process. Since then the story of the band has been one of the most interesting in all of music, and eventually spawned the 2014 documentary Quiet Riot: Well Now You're Here, There's No Way Back. Bassist Rudy Sarzo has seen it all in his time with both Quiet Riot and other acts such as Whitesnake, Ozzy Osborne, Dio, Blue Oyster Cult, Devil City Angels and more. In this chat with We Talk Music host Brett Monro he goes over some of that history, talks about his faith and how it influences him, his stage persona and knowing he was truly a bassist. It's an engaging, interesting and awesome interview you need to check out! Rudy Sarzo and Jizzy Pearl. Some great ways to subscribe to We Talk Podcasts. Try us on Apple Podcasts. Johnny Kelly of Quiet Riot is my latest Talkin' Rock with Meltdown guest. If you're in the Detroit area, the Quiet Riot guys are playing at Smugglers Run on June 9th. We talk about his lighter tour schedule. He told me playing with QR is much different than he was used to playing with Type O Negative. He explained how they tour on a completely different circuit that is new to him. He recalled touring with Motley Crue in the mid-90s. "It was a tough tour for them" he said about the guys in Crue. He also shared some other tour horror stories. As far as playing with a guy like Rudy Sarzo? "It's surreal". He went into what it's like to play with such a rock legend. He admitted he was somewhat start struck, but now has become a friend. Johnny also tells me what Jizzy Pearl is like. I've never had the chance to meet him before, so I'm looking forward to it. Of course we had to talk a little hockey. He's a big hockey fan, so I had to ask him about his thoughts on the Stanley Cup playoffs. He also told me who he thinks the late Vinnie Paul would've been rooting for. He's in a new band called Eye Am. How did that start? What's going on with that project? Johnny fills us in on all things about that band too. Great to catch up with one of my favorite dudes! -Meltdown- https://wrif.com/podcasts/talkin-rock-with-meltdown/

Is Jizzy a musician who writes books or an author who plays music? Check out his answer on this instalment of the show, the catalyst for which came about due to the launch of the new Love/Hate album, Hell, CA. We discuss the considerable merits of the album and a heap of other worthy topics too!
Jizzy Pearl's Love/Hate is an old school hard rock band, born out of the infamous Sunset Strip.Since their inception in 1986 their daily existence has been the stuff of legend, a constant reminder of the decadence of an era passed by but still very much a part of our musical life.Jizzy himself has played with and in such recognizable outfits like RATT, LA Guns, Steven Adler and Quiet Riot, but always seems to be at his best when producing music in his own incarnation, Love/Hate.With the recent release of the band's latest album Hell, CA Jizzy joined HEAVY for a trip down memory lane and to discuss the new album."It's been good,” he enthused on the early reception. “People seem to like it. People seem to think the songs are strong. It's just a continuation of trying to stay good (laughs) in 2022. here's no scientific explanation, it's just trying to write good songs and good production. Just trying to keep the bar up."In the full interview Jizzy runs through the album in more detail, talks about his love for AC/DC, writing a love ballad from a different point of view, the early days on the Sunset Strip and the birth of Love/Hate, what he gets out of his own project that he doesn't from the more high profile bands he has played in, future plans and more.
This week we have new Rock and Roll music that DESERVES to be heard from The Graham Bonnet Band, Tesla, Wyld Ryde, Six Gun Sal, Tony Martin, Nazareth, Jizzy Pearl's Love/Hate, Aaron Leigh and Robin Trower, plus music from Rainbow, NOSMOKING, and Lord Tracy!

"Who's Your Band?" Podcast Episode 69! Comedian Sean Morton and Playlist Wars host Brian Colburn with special guest Love/Hate, Quiet Riot, RATT singer Jizzy Pearl! On this week's episode of "Who's Your Band?," we interview Jizzy Pearl from Love/Hate. We discuss his time in RATT & Quiet Riot, his career as an author, and much more!
My guest this week is singer and author, Jizzy Pearl. Jizzy made a name for himself fronting the Band Love/Hate in the early 90's and has toured with bands such as AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Dio and many others. After Love/Hate disbanded, Jizzy went on to front bands such as LA Guns and Ratt. Now Jizzy is the lead singer for Quiet Riot. Not only is Jizzy a fantastic lead singer but he is also an amazing author! He has recently re-released his three books," I Got More Crickets Then Friends", "Unhappy Endings", and "Angst for the Memories". These books are a super fun read with a mixture of non-fiction and fiction short stories. Jizzy also has his latest single "Soul Mama" out now on Golden Robot Records and has a new single coming out August 24th titled "Wanna Be Somebody". I had a great time chatting with Jizzy, I hope you enjoy the show! Thanks for listening. Jeff, Robbie Wolfe, and bassist Cory Kay have been playing together since 1998, under the band name of Liquid Skye. In 2017, Jeff signed with Potomac records and recruited Todd Turgeon on drums. Thus, The Jeff Carlson Band was born, in 2018. After the fall of 2019, the label Potomac records folded, and Jeff signed a new record deal with RFL Records in late December of 2019. In February of 2020, RFL: Records released JCB's version of a remake of Foreigner's "Juke Box Hero" featuring Tesla's Frank Hannon on lead guitar, along with Jeff's first single "Screamin' Inside." In October of 2020, Jeff signed a new management deal with Nolan Hodges of MK Music to further JCB's career, along with getting an endorsement deal with Spetraflex cables. In the short time that the band has been together, they have released two singles, out on February of 2020, along with writing and recording a brand new full length album entitled "Yesterday's Gone," that will feature the great Mark Slaughter on lead guitar on a remake of Journey's "LaDoDa." The album will be releasing the first single entitled "Fire" which will be out March 19th of 2021. They have shared the stage with the following heavyweight acts: Lita Ford,Bon-Jovi's Phil X and The Drills,Faster Pussycat,Bang Tango,Firehouse,Jack Russell's Great White,Tora Tora, along with three new shows in early 2020 with Electric Radio Kings, Jizzy Pearl's Love/Hate and the mighty Tesla, which will be rescheduled in 2021 with Tesla. The band is now endorsed with spectraflex cables.

Ideal Para Llevarte O Regalar Productos Del Podcats De Ivoox. Los temas más notables de este grupo son sus sencillos «Round and Round», «Wanted Man», «Lay it Down», «You're in Love», «Back for More», «Shame, Shame, Shame», «I Want a Women», «Symphaty With The Devil», «Imvasion Your Privacity», «Demonic Refusal», «Trail Of Tears», «Im a Rat», «Slip of The Lip», «What you Give is What You Get», «Detonator», «Kill City to City», «Top Secret», «Necrhofhilia», «Infestation», «Reach in The Sky» «Between the Eyes» entre otros. Este contuvo el éxito «You think you' re tough». Otros clásicos son «Wanted Man», «Back for More», «Lack of Comunication», «I'm Insane». You is a Dirty Job». I Win», Tails You Lose». You is a Dirty Job». Sólo escribió una canción, «Can't Wait On Love» y contribuyó en «All or Nothing».

Frustrado, DuBrow empieza a mandar cartas a bandas metaleras nuevas en Los Ángeles sabiendo que su éxito era en parte debido a su éxito "ennow that their success was in part owed to the past successes of Quiet Riot". La banda lanzó Down to the Bone ese mismo año. Guns / Brides of Destruction.

Show Notes Episode 144: “The Cure Is Worse Than The Aziz” This week the listeners will find out more about Host Dave Bledsoe's sex life than they EVER wanted to know. (He likes being spanked with a rolled up copy of Highlights Magazine.) On the show this week we talk about the continuing downfall of men and their eventual replacements with stepladders and cloning technology. (Can't happen soon enough.) Along the way we tackle the thorny topics of Aziz Ansari's bad sex techniques, and how MAYBE he might not want to take sex advice from Pepe Le Pew. Along the way we talk about why men are so tense when reminded they are recipient of an entire society structured for their advancement. (Well, we didn't ASK for it!) We clean out the litter box of the Cat Person article from the end of last year. (Hey, we are allowed to enjoy the Holidays too!) and make some suggestions on how we might solve the entire consent problem in a single generation. (But we don't have time for rational solutions.) Our Sponsor this week is Confirma-Fuck, affirmative consent on your phone! We open the show with Dave Chappelle discussing role models and close with Jizzy Pearl's take on Bon Jovi's Magnum Opus. #1 live late night talk show with guests JON E LOVE AND TONIGHTS NEW MUSIC SHOW CASE ARTIST IS KAGER It has been quite some time since the rock world has heard from Jon E. Love. As a founder member of Los Angeles sleaze rockers Love/Hate, the guitarist first came to prominence along with vocalist Jizzy Pearl, bassist Skid Rose and drummer Joey Gold on their explosive 1990 debut ‘Blackout in The Red Room'. Although they seemed destined for great things, sadly it wasn't to last, and following a second album, Love quit the band. With the exception of a couple of short-lived reunions with the band, the guitarist has remained quiet, that is, until now. The years of rock ‘n' roll debauchery may be behind him, but with 2015 seeing the 25th anniversary of the release of ‘Blackout In The Red Room', Jon is back with his new band ‘Jon E Love & The Haters'
With KISSMAS in July just around the corner, we'll be knee-deep in the Hottest Band in the Land when Independence Day rolls around but we still wanted to celebrate America's birthday. We decided to do our Patriotic duty and spin some rock songs about America this week. Before we get down to business, we name Jay Hardman Geek of the Week for his hilarious response to a "Pick Your Poison" question on the Decibel Geek facebook fan page that pertains to some of Metallica's more "experimental" projects. Chris attended the Geoff Tate-led version of Queensryche's performance at War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville. In this review, you'll hear his thoughts on the band's performance, concert attendence (or lack thereof), and his memories of the meet & greet after the concert. We kick off our ear-bleeding tribute to America with some love for the USA from a Canadian as Sebastian Bach performs 'American Metalhead' from 2007's Angel Down album. The Offspring are well-known for their tongue-in-cheek, silly tracks from the 90's. However, there's more to this band if you dig a little deeper. We take a listen to the title track from 1998's Americana album. Only in America would someone name themselves Jizzy Pearl. Love/Hate remains a criminally underrated gem of a band from Hollywood. We feel it our patriotic duty to give Jizzy and company their just due and spin the title track from 1992's 'Wasted in America' album. Next up is a track about America that got this British hard rock band in quite a pickle during a festival show in England. British metalheads took it upon themselves to shower Def Leppard with bottles of urine during their performance at the Reading Festival in England. We take a listen to 'Hello America' from the On Through the Night album. Before we get back tot he music, Chris reads some hilarious Letters to the Editor from a 1989 Hit Parader magazine. Up next is another rock artist that doesn't get near enough attention from the music buying public. Lizzy Borden has been doing his shock rock show for 30 years. We take a listen to 'American Metal' from 1985's Love You to Pieces album. We go from Def Leppard telling America 'Hello' to Blackie Lawless and WASP bidding the Land of the Free adieu with 'Goodbye America' from 1995's Still Not Black Enough album. It wouldn't be a patriotic Decibel Geek show without a little KISS. To get you primed for next month's KISSMAS festivities, we spin 'All American Man' from the studio side of Alive II. In 90 episodes (so far), we've never played anything by The Runaways. That changes this week as we take a listen to 'American Nights' from their 1976 self-titled debut album. A true transplanted American is Lemmy of Motorhead. Always a fixture of L.A.'s Rainbow, Lemmy has written a number of songs about America. We spin 'Stone Deaf in the U.S.A' from 1987's Rock n Roll album. Closing out the show is the lyrical genius of one, Alice Cooper. 1982's DaDa album has gone down in history as a piece of work that is not in Mr. Cooper's memory banks due to the high volume of alcohol consumption going on at the time. Aside from that, he had a spark of brilliance when he penned a patriotic song that extols on the joys of wonder bread, the A-team and waitresses that love to flirt. A perfect way to cap off our tribute to America. Buy Music! Sebastian Bach The Offspring Love/Hate Def Leppard Lizzy Borden WASP KISS The Runaways Motorhead Alice Cooper Contact Us!
