Kurt Avery of Sawyer Products joins Jeep Talk Show to talk water filters, insect protection, and how a company that lost money for 23 of its first 25 years now delivers clean water in more than 80 countries. Sawyer's 0.1-micron hollow-fiber filters take out bacteria and protozoa, last for years with backwashing, and have helped tens of millions of people while the company gives away most of its profits. Tony and Kurt cover malaria work, clothing treatment that lasts through wash cycles, disaster kits, Mexico tap water, and why a cheap filter belongs in every Jeep. JP Dinnell reflects on his experience at Origin Immersion Camp and the deeper lessons he took away about growth, discomfort, faith, fatherhood, leadership, and brotherhood. The conversation explores why intentionally doing difficult things can accelerate growth, why we never truly "arrive," and why the people around us can encourage and support us—but eventually, we have to take the step ourselves. JP also shares the powerful story of his daughters facing their fear and jumping from a cliff into cold water, connecting the moment to faith, courage, and the responsibility of becoming the person God created you to be. In Episode 271: The Outcomes Formula, I introduce a new coaching framework that represents a shift in the way I help missionaries and clients understand their thoughts, emotions, and actions. If you've listened to earlier episodes where I taught The Model, don't worry—I'm not throwing it out. Instead, I've simplified and refined the process into something I believe is more compassionate, more flexible, and easier to apply in everyday life. My hope is that this new approach helps you spend less time judging yourself and more time understanding what's really happening in your mind. Throughout this episode, I walk through each step of what I call The Outcomes Formula: Observation, Assessment, Feeling, Action, and Outcome. We explore how your brain naturally takes in information, assigns meaning to it, creates emotions, fuels your actions, and ultimately produces the outcomes you experience. Rather than focusing on whether your observations are perfectly factual, I explain why it's often more helpful to become curious about the meaning your brain is assigning to those experiences and how that meaning shapes the rest of the formula. If you've ever wondered why you keep getting stuck in the same emotional patterns, why anxiety or discouragement seem to repeat themselves, or how to interrupt those cycles with greater compassion and awareness, I hope Episode 271: The Outcomes Formula gives you a practical tool you can return to again and again. My hope is that this framework helps you better understand yourself, strengthen your emotional resilience, and recognize that lasting change begins with becoming aware of the stories your brain is telling you—not by trying to become someone different. As always, if you found this episode helpful, I want to invite you to subscribe if you aren't already, share this episode with your friends and missionaries you know, and write a review. I know this work will help LDS missionaries around the world and it would mean so much to me if you did. Worst Vacation Spots in Star Wars Todd Hoffman and Carla Giacalone/Coffey kick back for a fun, nerdy Cantina Chat about the absolute worst places to spend a vacation in the Star Wars galaxy. It starts with a personal update from Carla on her recent wedding and upcoming Lord of the Rings honeymoon, then shifts into a playful planet-by-planet debate over which worlds are too hot, too wet, too buggy, or too dangerous to ever book. Key topics In this episode: Carla shares wedding highlights, including the Camp Sacagoia venue in New Jersey, R2-D2 at the reception, and walking down the aisle to Princess Leia's theme. Todd and Carla talk about Carla's delayed honeymoon to New Zealand, where she'll take a Lord of the Rings tour through filming locations. The conversation turns to Star Wars vacation planning, with Mustafar and Exegol quickly emerging as top-tier nightmare destinations. Hoth gets compared to extreme winter travel, with discussion of blizzards, emergency Wampa insurance, and the appeal of cold versus heat. Tatooine comes up as the rare planet with enough civilization to survive a trip, despite the sand, the sun, and the constant danger. Dagobah is treated as a hard no for its swamp conditions, bugs, and general "Florida but worse" vibe. Geonosis, Kessel, Felucia, and Exegol are each framed as terrible choices for different reasons, from language barriers to poison mushrooms to Sith cult energy. The hosts compare how bad a long trip would be next to villains like Darth Vader, General Grievous, or Jabba the Hutt. They close the vacation debate by choosing the "least bad" nightmare trip and agreeing that Tatooine is probably the safest bad option. Carla also gives an honorable mention to Wobani from Rogue One as a place nobody would want on a vacation itinerary. Timestamps: 00:00 - Todd opens the show and tees up the "worst vacation spots in Star Wars" idea 02:21 - Carla's wedding recap and why the venue felt like it belonged in a fantasy world 04:41 - R2-D2 joins the wedding celebration with champagne and dancing 05:30 - Walking down the aisle to Princess Leia's theme 06:33 - Why Carla and Brian delayed the honeymoon until New Zealand 07:04 - A Lord of the Rings tour through filming locations and why it may be emotionally overwhelming 09:39 - Carla's married name and the "decaf" joke that keeps following her 11:56 - Todd's family updates, school starting, and football season returning 14:07 - Carla teases the news items before the main topic 15:03 - Why the hosts think Star Wars has great vacation potential and terrible vacation potential 16:00 - Mustafar versus Exegol as instant refusal destinations 18:22 - How they would rate a Star Wars destination using danger, weather, food, and accommodations 20:37 - Why Mustafar sounds like a place with no good tourism infrastructure 22:25 - Hoth as the extreme cold-weather option and why Norway inspired it 24:15 - Wampa insurance, and the debate over freezing versus melting 25:38 - Why Tatooine is still strangely livable compared with the other nightmare planets 28:42 - Dagobah as swamp hell, bug central, and possible poison-water disaster 32:36 - Geonosis as a language-barrier and execution-risk vacation spot 34:01 - Kessel and the worst possible souvenir from the mines 35:18 - Felucia's mushroom-covered scenery and the danger of touching anything 36:55 - Exegol as an unusable honeymoon location with constant lightning and cult energy 38:00 - Which planet would have the worst hotel and worst spaceport 39:08 - Which planet would have the most dishonest vacation brochure 40:57 - The worst villain to sit next to on a hyperspace flight 43:44 - The difference between dangerous, gross, and truly unlivable family vacation spots 45:45 - Exegol and Camino as terrible honeymoon or relaxing-trip options 48:52 - Choosing the least awful free seven-day vacation: Tatooine 53:23 - Carla's honorable mention: Wobani from Rogue One 55:07 - News item 1: The Saga Begins and Weird Al's Star Wars legacy 58:25 - News item 2: A Star Wars Starfighter leak and a strange new creature 61:27 - News item 3: Star Wars Galactic Racer and the return of pod-racing nostalgia 71:07 - Outro, socials, email, and a call for listener feedback Notable quotes: "I walked down the aisle to Princess Leia's theme." In our final episode, where we leave the West, we're tackling something a little different - a contemporary western, and one that adds some weirdness to the proceedings with Bone Tomahawk. This horror-tinged western stars the good man Kurt Russell as a sheriff bound to his duty to track down kidnapped townsfolk who might be eaten by the neighborly troglodytes. We talk about the influences, the suspense, and the potential sus-ness of S. Craig Zahler's debut film. We're also drinking Blue Barrel's New Fashioned Hard Root Beer!Red Hot Action Summer is over, but that means we're starting our Halloween season. We'll be back in September with our new event, running all Samhain long.

You will learn why late-night eating is one of the biggest hidden drivers of insulin resistance, which nine common cooking oils are quietly wrecking your cell membranes, why "obesogens" hiding in your food, water, and home can stall fat loss no matter how clean you eat, and the exact fasting and eating-window strategy. Encore Episode!! After over a decade of working with thousands of women, I've become really good at mapping out the entire divorce process and pinpointing where on that map someone might land. I've become so good at it that I actually created something I'm calling The Divorce Roadmap. In this episode, I share the three stages of the Roadmap: Awareness, Action, and Moving On, and explore the various phases within each stage. Divorce journeys are almost never linear, they ebb and flow and have hard times and times when things fall neatly into place. Knowing where you are on your journey can help you prepare for what's to come. If, after listening to this episode, you have found yourself somewhere along the map described, I have resources for every phase and every stage. You can download your divorce roadmap after listening to this episode. What you'll hear about in this episode: The three stages of the Divorce Roadmap: Awareness, Action, and Moving On Awareness stage: questioning, dawning realization, begging and bargaining, and finally acceptance Action stage: having the talk, making big decisions, telling the kids, and more Moving On stage: co-parenting, dating, single by choice, a first relationship, a first heartbreak, and possibly family blending Why the journey rarely moves in a straight line, and how stages like anger and grief, or questioning and backsliding, tend to loop back on each other Resources & Links: Your Divorce Roadmap Focused Strategy Sessions with Kate The Divorce Survival Guide Resource Bundle Phoenix Rising: A Divorce Empowerment Collective Kate on Instagram Kate on Facebook Kate's Substack Newsletter: Divorce Coaching Dispatch The Divorce Survival Guide Podcast Episodes are also available YouTube! Nikki and David get real about the difference between believing in growth and actually practicing it when failure, criticism, comfort zones, and self-doubt show up. Together, they unpack how fixed mindsets sneak into finances, relationships, leadership, goals, and even the way we talk to ourselves. From embracing failure as a teacher to surrounding yourself with people who challenge you, Nikki and David share practical ways to sharpen your mindset, lead others toward growth, and stop letting fear of judgment drive the story. This conversation is a powerful reminder that you only get one shot, so you might as well bet on yourself. Additional Resources: Follow Addicted to Betterment wherever you listen to podcasts! We often think we need confidence, motivation, or certainty before we act—but the brain usually works in the opposite direction. In this Think Thursday episode, Molly explores how the brain uses prediction, feedback, and experience to update what it believes is possible. You'll learn:Why the brain constantly predicts what will happen nextHow prediction error gives the brain new informationWhat Albert Bandura's research on self-efficacy tells us about building confidenceWhy actually doing something creates evidence that thinking and planning cannotHow feedback can recalibrate confidence over timeWhy uncertainty does not automatically mean a decision is wrongHow small experiments can build both confidence and clarityA simple process to try:Notice the predictionTake the smallest action that can test itLook honestly at the feedbackUpdate what you believeConfidence is not always the entrance requirement. Sometimes it is what your brain builds after you walk through the door.Key takeaway: You don't always act because you know. Sometimes you know because you acted. ★ Support this podcast ★

Season 32, Episode 9 – I'm On A BoatHosted by: DONMEGADONMEGA is back with another packed edition of Am I On The Air?, breaking down the biggest entertainment news from August 19 through August 25. Episode #245 on the PopCulturePros Network brings big-screen action, fresh horror, streaming recommendations, and another week of Hollywood giving everyone far more content than any reasonable person has time to watch. On the movie side, Jason Statham is back in Mutiny, which means somebody has once again made the terrible mistake of giving this man a reason to start punching people. DONMEGA breaks down the action, story, and whether Statham delivers another hard-hitting big-screen ride worth checking out. At this point, being anywhere near one of his characters should probably require hazard pay. Then it's time to head into horror territory with Passenger. DONMEGA dives into the scares, suspense, atmosphere, and whether this new horror release deserves a spot on your watchlist. Because apparently traveling wasn't stressful enough already.Over on the TV side, there is a ridiculous amount to watch right now, so DONMEGA is cutting through the clutter with a quick roundup of the shows actually worth your time. From current favorites to streaming options you may have missed, consider this your chance to find the next series that somehow turns “one episode before bed” into a completely ruined sleep schedule. As always, DONMEGA also runs through the latest movie and TV headlines, streaming news, industry updates, reactions, and everything else making noise across entertainment.Action, horror, streaming overload, and Jason Statham presumably ruining somebody's entire week all come together in I'm On A Boat. Today's episode is a special bonus from our recent Confidence Summit, where nine professional speakers, entrepreneurs, and world-class athletes came together to share their best strategies for building lasting confidence. In this episode, Dr. Cindra Kamphoff sits down with entrepreneur, author, and creator Evan Carmichael. Evan runs a YouTube channel for entrepreneurs with more than 3 million subscribers and 500 million views. He has written four books and speaks around the world about entrepreneurship, content, and building a meaningful brand. Confidence doesn't always arrive before you take the next step. Evan shares how, as an introvert, he struggled for years to feel comfortable creating videos, speaking publicly, and putting his ideas into the world. It took hundreds of videos before he could even watch himself without immediately focusing on everything he thought he was doing wrong. Instead of waiting until he felt confident, he kept taking action. Evan explains why one of the most powerful ways to move through fear is to shift your attention away from yourself and toward the person you can help. When fear of judgment, criticism, or failure starts holding you back, focusing on service gives you a reason to keep moving. Cindra and Evan also discuss fear of other people's opinions, the language we use when something feels difficult, asking for help, and why the areas where we lack confidence can often point toward our greatest opportunities for growth. The message is simple: someone needs what you have to share. You don't have to reach everyone. Start by helping one person. In this episode, you'll learn: Why confidence often disappears when we step into something new. How Evan kept creating despite years of self-doubt and discomfort on camera. Why focusing on service can help you move through fear. How fear of other people's opinions keeps us from taking opportunities. Why asking for help can accelerate confidence and growth. How the language you use around difficult situations influences your willingness to act. Why your next level often requires action before you feel completely ready. How helping one person can make a scary step feel worthwhile. This interview originally appeared as part of Cindra's Confidence Summit, featuring nine speakers, entrepreneurs, and world-class athletes. A Rosie On The House Replay w/ Jenny BeasleyJenny Beasley of Heart for the City shares how a barren dirt lot in Glendale, Arizona, became a thriving community garden serving families, schools, volunteers, and gardeners from eight different cultures. She explains how partnerships, raised beds, shared food, and educational programs helped transform the space into much more than a place to grow vegetables. The conversation explores how community gardens create belonging, purpose, friendships, healthier neighborhoods, and stronger connections between people. Jenny also offers practical advice for anyone interested in starting a community garden of their own. Key Topics & EntitiesHeart for the City GardenJenny BeasleyCommunity gardensGlendale, ArizonaRaised garden bedsCommunity partnershipsCity of GlendaleSchool garden partnershipsEight different culturesCucuzza squashUrban gardening in the desertGardening educationFood accessCommunity buildingKey Questions AnsweredHow did Heart for the City Garden begin?Jenny Beasley was challenged to transform a barren, partly asphalt-covered dirt lot into a community garden. The City of Glendale provided the property, while a community development grant helped fund the initial development. What made the raised beds such a game changer? The raised beds gave individual families and gardeners a sense of ownership. They also allowed people from different cultures to grow vegetables they remembered from childhood or from their home countries. How does the garden bring different cultures together?Gardeners from places including Jordan, Trinidad, China, Mexico, Hungary, and Peru grow alongside one another, sharing vegetables, recipes, gardening knowledge, and traditions. What is the biggest lesson Jenny learned about building community?People want to feel connected and be part of something. Growing side by side gives people a natural way to participate, contribute, and build relationships. How can someone begin creating a community garden?First determine what type of community garden you want to create, then visit and learn from gardens with similar goals. Jenny says learning from people who have already developed successful gardens can save enormous amounts of time. How does the garden operate in the Arizona heat?Heart for the City Garden grows year-round. During the hottest part of the year, peppers, okra, herbs, and other crops are growing, while tomatoes can be more challenging. How does the garden create purpose for people?Jenny describes a woman who unexpectedly retired and found purpose, friendships, activity, and a new routine through spending time at the garden. What happens beyond gardening at Heart for the City? The garden hosts cooking events, recipe sharing, educational activities, guest speakers, celebrations, and even weddings. Visitors may leave with seeds, plants, or planting calendars. How does the surrounding neighborhood participate?Neighbors walk to the garden with their children, donate gardening supplies, volunteer, and help one another. The garden has become a close-knit neighborhood resource rather than simply a place to grow food. What does Jenny consider the garden's greatest accomplishment? She is most proud of how the gardeners connect, help one another, care for their garden spaces, celebrate life's milestones, and continue learning. As another gardener put it, they are “growing people also.” Episode HighlightsA barren dirt lot becomes a thriving community garden and food forest over roughly 12 years. Raised beds become a “game changer,” giving families ownership and encouraging participation from multiple cultures. Partnerships with the City of Glendale, schools, businesses, and volunteers help sustain the garden. The garden's cucuzza squash inspires a club, a giant trellis, shared recipes, and plenty of fun. Gardeners support one another with rides, meals, home check-ins, and friendship—creating what Jenny calls a “big garden family.” Cooking and food-sharing events help people learn what to do with the vegetables they grow. The garden welcomes people from throughout the area who want to learn about gardening or simply connect with others. Jenny's central message: community gardens don't just grow vegetables—they grow people and relationships. Are you duplicating everybody else by having relationships with people and things, or do you acknowledge yourself as the generative source and create? In this episode of Choice, Change and Action, Simone Milasas continues her conversation with Kelly Pringle about having creationships with everything and everybody, rather than relationships. Creationship is accessing the greater you. When you are in creationship, you enjoy people but you also open yourself up to all possibilities, with anyone, at any time; there's no limitation to it. You might require and desire something from the other person, but not from lack or need, and doesn't mean you are less than when they are not around; there's room for malleability and change and exploration of something different. What would it take to be in creationship with everything and everyone? Questions And Tools: "Universe and body, show me the way" "Body, what do you require? Do you require anything?" "Why do I care?" "Now what else can I add to my life?" "Dear universe, what else is possible?" Tools: Trust you, your body and the universe. We are amazing and incredible and we keep pretending that we're not. We tend to access the debilitation of us and not what is the greatness of us. What percentage are you choosing your brilliance? Creationship is accessing the greater you. There is so much more available to us. Are you choosing your magic? You need to start accessing what you know. What you know, nobody else knows. What you are aware of, nobody else is aware of. Destroy and uncreate everything you're still perceiving in your body from past lifetimes. What if you were willing to be more vulnerable? The only way you are going to get hurt is if you choose to Look at why you care. What if you didn't care and you chose? Choosing for you is not choosing against others. Do you enjoy the people you are with? Do they add to your life? Everything you make significant and relevant in relationship creates the structure of relationships. What is your relationship with money? Destroy and uncreate it. If you trusted money, what would show up? Start trusting, honouring, being in allowance, being grateful, and being vuln with and for money. Stop duplicating everybody else with money. What if you were a generative source with money instead? When you do creationship with money, you start to receive in a different way. Ask for a creationship with your finances like you've never chosen before. Being out of control is allowing so many more possibilities to show up beyond anything you can imagine. We are so quick to go to what's wrong rather than, "This is beautiful." A lot of people misidentify excitement as fear. What expectations do you have with your body? When you function from rightness and wrongness, you eliminate awareness. What have you decided is right with your body? What have you decided is wrong with your body? It's a constant state of being in question with your body and not doubting it. Ask for a creationship with your body like you've never chosen before. Do you do boredom so you can be entertained? Go outside and do nothing until you are not bored. In the months after a deadly mass shooting at Annunciation Church and School last year, a group of Annunciation parents turned to organizing to prevent future violence. They met with state lawmakers and supported a range of policy changes, like a ban on assault-style weapons and more funding for mental health care. The Annunciation Light Alliance also found allies in Sandy Hook parents who have built a national advocacy network since the mass shooting at their children's' elementary school in Connecticut in 2012. To learn more about the past year of organizing and what's next, MPR News host Nina Moini talked with Annunciation Light Alliance co-founder Kristen Neville, who has five children at the school, along with Sandy Hook Promise CEO Nicole Hockley, who co-founded that group after losing her son Dylan, a first-grader, in the Sandy Hook tragedy.
Have you ever known exactly what to do... and still not done it?This episode was inspired by a conversation with an entrepreneur who had the strategy, the plan, and the next steps—but was struggling to take action. That led me to a realization: entrepreneurs usually get stuck in one of two places.I don't know what to do.I know what to do, but I'm not doing it.In this episode, I'm breaking down how I navigate both challenges, including the simple exercise I use to create clarity when I feel overwhelmed and the mindset shift that helps me move forward when fear, perfectionism, or procrastination show up.Because here's the truth:Action comes first. "...these are qualities that are core to who we are. And there's times where we may be underusing strengths. And one of them I'll give for Nurses. Often one of our strengths as a profession, is kindness. We're caring. We're compassionate. Everybody says that about Nurse. We know that. But how many of us would underuse kindness for ourselves? At some level, potentially. I mean, it's so easy. We're caring, giving to others, but we may be underusing it for ourselves. These strengths are to be used, the goal is to use them to benefit ourselves and others." ~Chad Sanders RN, BSN, NC-BC, MSc APPCP, MBSP Certified FacilitatorAh-Ha MomentsNurse Coaching begins with knowing and caring for ourselves. Chad reflects on his own experiences with burnout and the tension nurses can feel when healthcare systems don't align with their values. Integrative Nurse Coaching helped him recognize that his own well-being, self-awareness, and personal growth are foundational to how we care for and coach others.Know your strengths and learn to live them. Chad introduces the VIA Character Strengths and encourages listeners to identify the qualities that are essential, energizing, and natural to who they are. Rather than simply knowing your strengths, he invites you to practice them mindfully and consider how they can support you through challenges, relationships, nursing practice, and everyday life.Mindfulness and character strengths can become powerful partners. Through practices such as mindful strength use, strength spotting, reflection, and intentional awareness, we can become more present to what is best within ourselves and others. Chad's work reminds us that strengths don't eliminate adversity, and they can provide meaningful resources for navigating it while supporting well-being.Nurse Coaching can evolve into something uniquely your own. Chad's journey has led him to combine positive psychology, mindfulness, music, movement, character strengths, and group coaching into his emerging Embody Your Strengths Coaching practice. His story is a beautiful example of how Nurse Coaches can evolve over time, bringing your own interests, talents, experiences, and even playfulness into how you serve others.Links and ResourcesIntegrative Nurse Coaches in ACTION! podcastChad's LinkedInChad's InstagramConnect Wellness™ websiteNewsletter: Embodied Rhythm & Inner Intelligence Review™VIA Institute on Character: Free VIA Character Strengths SurveyPublished research:Wellbeing and Nursing Burnout — Journal of Happiness and Health (2022)Interprofessional Substance Use Disorders Education — American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education (2020)Interprofessional Psychiatry Education — Academic Psychiatry (2017)*****Integrative Nurse Coach Academy I Integrative Nurse Coach FoundationWe provide nurses with a global community for learning, networking, and reconnecting. What do you do when you know you were made for more, but you do not know what the next step is? In this episode of The Impossible Life Podcast, Nick Surface and Garrett Unclebach talk about the deep ache many Christian men feel when they know they are not fully living their purpose. That feeling is not random. It is the eternal calling card of God inside a man, reminding him that he was created for a reason and that his life is meant to matter beyond comfort, survival, or success. This conversation gives men a practical framework for discovering and moving forward in purpose: what is in your heart and what is in your hand. The heart carries desire, dream, calling, and the internal pull toward what God placed inside you. But that dream has to stay on the altar, because even a God-given desire can become corrupted if it becomes more important than Jesus. What is in your hand represents the gifts, abilities, experiences, resources, and opportunities God has already entrusted to you. Many men stay stuck because they are waiting for what they do not have instead of becoming faithful with what they do.Purpose is not found by sitting still and waiting for God to write the whole plan in the sky. It is walked out through faith, discipline, self-mastery, stewardship, and obedience in the current season. Biblical masculinity means holding humility and ambition together: dreaming greatly, but trusting God for promotion; developing your skillsets, but keeping your motive pure; taking action, but staying submitted. If you want everything God has for your life, this episode will challenge you to stop waiting, take inventory, and become fully faithful with the heart and hand He has already given you.Get With NuWave Home Lenders By Clicking HereJoin a group of likeminded Impossible Life listeners in our FREE Skool community by clicking here.Get the Purpose Playbook by clicking hereGet the FREE Basic Discipline Training 30 Day Program by clicking hereJoin us in Mindset Mastery by clicking hereLevel up your nutrition with IDLife by clicking hereGET IN TOUCHSocial Media - @theimpossiblelifeEmail - info@theimpossible.life
