Episode 306 ADD IT ACROSS!! Big shout out to the area of Saskatchewan, Canada. On the 306th episode of the MalloryBros podcast the Bros are back talking about Jay Z's MONSTROUS freestyle at the Roots picnic whereas the Bros thought, he got on stage with a message to send. Fresh off a huge Iceman weekend with a LOT of smut on his name, Jay Z hit the stage and threw HEAVY shots at Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Tory Lanes and more in what's one of the most spirited heated Jay freestyles we've ever seen. Terrell is a Bar-TECHNICIAN and breaks down the freestyle line by line explaining exactly what Jay means going over all the disses. They speak about the state of the culture after before Terrell brings up a viral incident involving a young boy asking a random family for food. The Bros go through a lot of sports talk this podcast talking about Spurs and Knicks going to the Finals, NFL Trade Frenzy and even some WNBA talk from Terrance later. The podcast ends with two great “course of action” type questions with one being from a listener that starts a great debate between the Bros. Follow Us on Twitter @MalloryBros9 for all updates! Most people think of pollution as something outside, like smog and exhaust. But gas stoves, ovens, furnaces, and water heaters can actually release nitrogen dioxide directly into your home. For renters, that's a problem without easy solutions: unlike homeowners, they can't simply swap in safer, cleaner energy sources, and landlords and policymakers have been slow to act. In this episode, host Gloria Riviera speaks with Adama Moussa Harouna and Tanushree Dutta Isaacman, organizers at Action in Montgomery, about their work pushing for safer living conditions, lower toxic emissions, and a more sustainable energy future for renters. Money coach Jen Fontanilla spent 25 years designing for Disney before cracking the code on creative worth. Here's why you're undercharging — and how to stop. She spent 25 years creating packaging for Disney, Sony, and Target. She was good at her job — great, actually. But here's what nobody knew: she had no idea how to handle her own money. None. And she is not alone — because if you are a creative, a designer, a writer, a maker of any kind, the system was literally built to keep you broke and grateful for it. Today's guest is Jen Fontanilla — TEDx speaker, seven-time author, and the woman who turned her own financial rock bottom into a career dismantling the 'Starving Artist' myth one belief at a time. We are going to get into why you keep undercharging, why your childhood shaped your rates, and the one mindset shift that changes everything. Do not go anywhere. Episode Summary Everyone wants the lifestyle. The healthy marriage. The disciplined routine. The strong body. The better habits. The consistent mindset. But most people never make it past motivation. Why? Because transformation doesn't happen in one big moment — it happens in stages. In this episode, we break down the full journey of change and explain how a simple idea eventually becomes part of your identity. We unpack why people constantly "start over," why motivation fades so quickly, and what actually creates lasting change in fitness, marriage, business, parenting, and life. This episode introduces what we call the Levels of Action — the stages every person moves through when trying to grow, improve, or reinvent themselves. The Levels of Action 1. Idea The awareness stage. "I should probably change." This is where people recognize: low energy frustration poor habits disconnection unhappiness Awareness starts the process — but awareness alone changes nothing. 2. Motivation The emotional stage. New shoes. New gym. New year. New inspiration. Motivation creates excitement and momentum, but it's temporary. Most people mistake motivation for transformation. The truth? Motivation starts the car. It doesn't drive the whole trip. 3. Habit The repetition stage. This is where behaviors start becoming more automatic: daily walks meal prep workouts intentional routines Habits reduce decision fatigue — but they're still fragile and easy to break during stressful seasons. 4. Routine The structure stage. The behavior becomes scheduled and expected. This is where: routines create stability consistency creates momentum chaos begins to decrease Routines don't create restriction. They create freedom. 5. Discipline The standard stage. This is where you act regardless of mood. You train tired. You show up stressed. You stop negotiating with yourself. Discipline forms when: the standard becomes stronger than the mood. 6. Identity / Lifestyle The end goal. Not: "I'm trying to work out." But: "This is just who I am." A lifestyle is simply a habit you stopped negotiating with. What Pushes People Forward? We also discuss the factors that help people move to the next level: Environment Spouse and relationships Coaches and accountability Community Standards Faith Momentum Pain and frustration Structure and routines And just as importantly… What Pulls People Backward? Chaos Comfort Isolation Burnout Negative environments Emotional decision-making Lack of accountability Perfectionism The Marriage Fit Angle One of the biggest insights from this episode: Couples are often at different levels at the same time. One spouse may be disciplined while the other is still relying on motivation. One may want growth while the other wants comfort. That gap can either create friction… or fuel growth. Your environment matters — and your relationship is one of the strongest environments you have. Final Takeaway Transformation does not happen in one decision. It happens through repeated reps until the behavior becomes who you are. You don't become disciplined overnight. You become disciplined one rep at a time.
Strategic planning creates the space nonprofit organizations need to move from reactive decision-making toward shared clarity, intentional action, and stronger alignment. In this re-released episode of Nonprofit Mission: Impact, nonprofit strategy consultant Carol Hamilton outlines a comprehensive five-step strategic planning process designed to help organizations engage stakeholders meaningfully, navigate complexity, and create plans that stay alive beyond the final document. Rather than treating strategic planning as a one-time retreat or static document, Carol emphasizes: Why strategic planning is about alignment and shared understanding—not predicting the future How inclusive engagement builds buy-in and surfaces important perspectives The importance of balancing structure with flexibility in uncertain times Why equity and relationship-centered processes strengthen strategy The role of exploration and imagination before narrowing into priorities How organizations can avoid creating overwhelming "wish list" plans Why regular review processes are essential to keeping plans relevant How strategic planning can create an anchor in complex environments Episode Highlights [00:00] Why Strategic Planning Still Matters in Uncertain Times [02:00] What Strategic Planning Is—and What It Is Not [06:00] Why a Retreat Alone Is Not Enough [07:30] Step One: Kickoff and Orientation [10:00] Step Two: Equity and Stakeholder Engagement in the Discovery Phase [12:00] The Value of a Listening Tour [13:30] Step Three: Exploration and Imagining Possible Futures [15:30] Step Four: Moving from Big Ideas to Strategic Decisions [17:00] Why Mission and Vision Work Comes Later [18:00] Step Five: Planning, Action, and Operationalizing the Plan [20:00] Keeping the Plan Alive About your podcast host: Carol Hamilton, principal of Grace Social Sector Consulting, helps nonprofits become more strategic and effective through inclusive strategic planning, evaluation design, and organizational assessment. With over 30 years of experience, she brings a practical, human-centered approach that helps organizations align around clear priorities and take meaningful action toward their mission. When she is not working with nonprofits to improve their strategy and alignment, you can find her reading a good book, making diary comics, having a dance party in the kitchen, swimming, biking or kayaking on the Anacostia River. James tells us that “Faith without works is dead,” and in the conclusion of Paul's letter to Titus we see that God's people must devote themselves to fruitful good works that meet real needs and serve the gospel mission. In his sermon, “Grace In Action” Pastor Josiah shows us how the church is not simply an organization of useful workers, but a family of grace. Christian good works flow from the grace that we've received from Christ and move us toward his love. It is the grace and love that we have for Christ first and foremost and then for each other that binds us together and builds us up for the work that God has prepared for us to while we await his glorious return.

In this 10th episode interview, Dr. Carrie Gress discusses the historical and cultural origins of modern feminism, arguing that the movement has distorted the authentic nature of womanhood. She traces a trajectory from the Enlightenment through communism and the sexual revolution, suggesting that these shifts pushed women to adopt a masculine ethos that prioritizes career autonomy over family. Dr. Gress contends that this focus on independence has led to widespread unhappiness, loneliness, and a plummeting birth rate across the Western world. The conversation highlights how corporate interests and emotional manipulation encourage women to view motherhood as a burden rather than a source of fulfillment. Ultimately, she advocates for a return to local, relational compassion and the recognition of spiritual motherhood to restore societal balance. https://www.carriegress.com/ Key Takeaways: 0:00 There's something off in our culture about women 4:41 Gatekeepers to civilized society 8:44 First wave 18:04 The masculine ethos 21:26 Manipulating women 25:17 The agenda to uglify women 30:24 Anti-depressants are in fashion and a status symbol 34:43 Action steps _______________________________________________________________ Follow Jason on TWITTER, INSTAGRAM & LINKEDIN Twitter.com/JasonHartmanROI Instagram.com/jasonhartman1/ Linkedin.com/in/jasonhartmaninvestor/ Call our Investment Counselors at: 1-800-HARTMAN (US) or visit: https://www.jasonhartman.com/ Free Class: Easily get up to $250,000 in funding for real estate, business or anything else: http://JasonHartman.com/Fund CYA Protect Your Assets, Save Taxes & Estate Planning: http://JasonHartman.com/Protect Get wholesale real estate deals for investment or build a great business – Free Course: https://www.jasonhartman.com/deals Special Offer from Ron LeGrand: https://JasonHartman.com/Ron Free Mini-Book on Pandemic Investing: https://www.PandemicInvesting.com

WELCOME BAAAAACKKKK!!! We are BACK after the summit and in this episode, we're exploring what happens after inspiration. After the summit. After the breakthrough. After the moment where you are called in a new direction. Because for many people, this is where things quietly stall. You feel inspired. Expanded. Full of ideas and insight. But then… life doesn't actually change. In this conversation, I break down why that happens, the two core patterns I see in self-aware, growth-oriented people that keep them from moving forward.

Direct response ads are written to take the customer from Attention to Interest to Desire to Action in a single encounter.Direct marketers have a product or a service to sell. They don't have a brand to protect. This is why ROAS is the perfect analytical tool for them.ROAS is the acronym for Return On Ad Spend. In other words, it is the Return On Investment of your ad budget. You can:measure lead generation with ROAS.compare the effectiveness of media with ROAS.track sales attribution with ROAS.But you will never build a brand with ROAS.In fact, the measurement of ROAS will always – without exception – lead to the disintegration of your brand. Here's why:To produce an impressive result in a short period of time, your ad must contain a degree of urgency.Urgency is not sustainable, nor is it scalable. The longer you run urgent ads, the less well they work.ROAS always looks great on paper for about a year, sometimes even 18 months. But then the wheels fall off and you can never put those wheels back on again. Your brand will never be more than a shadow of its former self.Consider this:A successful Going Out of Business sale is simply a massive extraction of the stored value in a brand. This “stored value” is the reputation of the company and the trust of its customers. These are variables that determine the success of every Going Out of Business Sale:Has this company routinely advertised a Sale or offered a discount? How highly do people esteem this brand? How credible is the urgency contained in the ad copy?ROAS always leads to short-term thinking because ROAS rewards ads that extract the largest amount of stored value from the brand.Have you built a brand?Do people feel a connection to your brand? The day that you begin using ROAS to determine which ads work best, you will have launched a Going Out of Business Sale whether you intended to or not.Roy H. WilliamsOne in every five American adults is the customer of a family that you have never heard of. Their company generates more than $32 billion in annual revenue. He also explains how they helped transform American investing.Listen and be amazed as Baer shares with roving reporter Rotbart the behind-the-scenes story of Fidelity's success. Reactive Distraction and Self-Sabotage: Protecting Your Boundaries Juan talks about recording this short episode while feeling time pressure to get home to help his sick wife and 1-year-old, using this as an example of "reactive distraction" in his BS (blind spot) model: leaking energy by reacting to interruptions and obligations that don't match the urgency. He shares cases like choosing to help a friend despite needing to work, getting calls from daycare about his 3-year-old's anxiety-related "sickness," taking a non-urgent call during a cautious gym session with an injured ankle, and home contractors running late, all of which trigger guilt, people-pleasing, or avoidance of harder tasks. He argues the issue isn't the events but the mindset and lowered boundaries, and urges listeners to identify where they unconsciously "lower the drawbridge," calibrate responses to true urgency, and protect time without becoming rigid or militant. 00:00 Why I Self Sabotage 00:58 Reactive Distraction Explained 01:25 Gas Tank Analogy 02:08 Helping Drew vs Work 03:13 Daycare Call Dilemma 05:19 Gym Injury and Phone Call 06:52 Contractor Chaos at Home 07:41 Boundaries and Blind Spots 09:42 Call to Action and Wrap Up

In this conversation with Cheryl Strauss Einhorn, the discussion examines what happens to judgment and critical thinking as AI becomes embedded in daily decision-making. Drawing on her background as an investigative journalist at Barron's, Einhorn explains how questioning assumptions and searching for disconfirming evidence shaped the development of her AREA Method for decision-making. She argues that AI should not be treated as an authority, but as a tool that requires active scrutiny and human judgment. Several points throughout the discussion: Use AI to challenge assumptions, not simply confirm them Ask for opposing viewpoints and missing evidence when using AI Verify citations and sources carefully, as hallucinations remain common Build expertise deeply enough to recognize flawed outputs Clarify the problem and your priorities before using the tool Treat discomfort in decision-making as part of serious thinking, not something to avoid The conversation also explores the growing risk of overreliance on AI, particularly among professionals who may begin outsourcing too much of their reasoning process. Einhorn argues that decision-making, contextual judgment, stakeholder awareness, and critical thinking will become more valuable as AI systems grow more capable. At its core, the episode is less about technology than about preserving independent thought. The central question is not whether AI will become more powerful, but whether people will continue exercising the skills required to think clearly, question effectively, and make decisions with conviction. This week, Rebecca Hinds, the brilliant mind behind what is officially my new favorite book, Your Best Meeting Ever, is with us at Allyship in Action. I'll be honest—I listened to this one on Audible, and hearing Rebecca's voice felt like she was sitting right there with me, narrating every meeting catastrophe I've ever lived through! We've all been there: trapped in a conference room (or a Zoom square) while someone reads slides at us, doing the mental math of just how much this hour is costing the company. But as I always say in my leadership training, a meeting is a snapshot of your culture. If we want to build inclusive, equitable workplaces, we have to start by fixing the way we talk to one another. Rebecca reminds us that leading a great meeting—or saving a bad one—is a leadership superpower. Key Themes from the Conversation The Origins of Meeting Sabotage The modern, dysfunctional meeting actually mirrors tactics found in the WWII-era Simple Sabotage Field Manual, which advised citizens in enemy territory to disrupt progress through long-winded, frequent meetings. "It's ironic, it's frustrating, it's a little bit humorous that we use the same tactic that was once advised as a weapon of sabotage as business as usual." The 4D CEO Test for Meeting Necessity To combat meeting volume, organizations should use a two-part filter to decide if a live gathering is actually necessary or if it can be handled asynchronously. "A meeting should only happen if the purpose is to debate, decide, discuss, or develop yourself or your team. The content either needs to be complex or emotionally intense." Meeting Doomsday and the Power of the Reset Instead of a simple audit, a meeting doomsday involves a 48-hour calendar reset that clears all recurring meetings to break the status quo and alleviate social guilt. "I've come to believe we need that type of drastic measure because meetings become so ingrained on the calendar and we have an immense social guilt, often, associated with canceling them." Designing for Delight and Human Connection Effective meetings should engage the senses and include moments of delight—a combination of joy and surprise—to create positive associations and boost memory. "Leaving people with one moment of delight is another pretty concrete way to ensure that they're leaving the meeting remembering that experience and having a positive association." AI as a Tool, Not a Replacement While AI can automate administrative drudgery, sending a digital twin to a meeting in your place can signal that your time is more valuable than your colleagues'. "If you have a broken meeting culture, you know, AI is not going to fix that. Sending a digital twin is a pretty good sign you, as the organizer, haven't thought as carefully as you should about meeting design." Actionable Takeaway Audit your next agenda using the Verb and Noun rule. Instead of a vague heading like Budget Discussion, label the item Align on the Q3 Budget. This provides clarity on the objective, tells the group exactly when they have been successful, and prevents the first item from eating up the entire hour. In this episode, I share the AAA Strategy—Alignment, Action, and Adjustment—and how it helps you turn setbacks into momentum. When your values, energy, and daily behaviors are aligned with where you want to be, or better, you create more opportunities, options, and touches of favor. I talk about building a foundation rooted in gratitude, empathy, accountability, and effective communication, while surrounding yourself with the right people and environments that accelerate your growth rather than interfere with it. I also explain why action creates progress, why adjustment is intelligence in action, and why the shift from “I'll be happy when” to “I am” changes everything. That's how you make a lot of money, help a lot of people, and have a lot of fun. To join my next free Friday Training sessions, email me at david@dmeltzer.com
What would your life look like if you locked in for the next six months? In this episode, I'm getting real about what it means to truly lock in, not by working endless hours, but by being intentional about your energy, your priorities, and the life you actually want to build. After returning from the Fundadoras Circle Dinner in Phoenix and navigating new motherhood, I share the honest, vulnerable journey of hitting capacity, letting go of what no longer serves me, and stepping into the next version of myself. If you're a Latina founder who's been playing small or carrying way too much, this episode is your sign to take up space, fully and unapologetically. 3 Action Steps to Lock In for the Next Six Months: Acknowledge Your Capacity 8:35 — Get honest about what you're carrying. If you're at capacity, say it out loud. Let go of what's not truly yours to carry so you can focus on what fulfills you. Use my GAME Framework 17:44 — Start your day with Gratitude, build an Action plan, practice Mindfulness (journaling, meditating), and Exercise/move your body. This daily framework creates clarity and helps you connect with yourself every single day. Invest in Yourself 19:19 — Get into rooms, programs, and communities that will stretch and elevate you. Whether it's a coach, a mastermind, or an event, investing in yourself is what fast-tracks your next level. Ready to lock in? If you're a Latina founder ready to expand your visibility, purpose, and impact, I'm personally inviting you to the Fundadoras Circle Mastermind. We kick off June 11th, and together we'll do the real work: breaking generational cycles, building something bigger than ourselves, and stepping into the next level — together. From Evidence to Action: Incorporating Disability Inclusion in Medical Training and Practice (ICAM 2026) Session Description The ICAM Series | Recorded Live at the International Congress on Academic Medicine (ICAM) What does it take to move disability inclusion from research and policy into everyday medical training and practice? Recorded live at the International Congress on Academic Medicine (ICAM) in Ottawa, Canada, this special episode of the Docs With Disabilities Podcast brings together an extraordinary panel of physician leaders, educators, and advocates working to transform disability inclusion across undergraduate medical education, residency training, and clinical practice. Together, the panel explores how institutions can move beyond awareness and compliance toward meaningful, sustainable change. Drawing from scholarship, systems leadership, and lived experience, they discuss the realities of accommodation implementation, the importance of centralized and trusted systems, faculty training, universal design, and the role of culture in shaping whether disability inclusion succeeds or stalls. This conversation asks difficult—but necessary—questions: How do we create systems that are consistent and humane? How do we support learners and physicians across transitions and career stages? And how do we build medical environments where disability is expected, planned for, and valued? Rich with practical insight and grounded in real-world experience, this live ICAM session highlights a field at an important turning point—one where we increasingly have the evidence, the tools, and the responsibility to act. Whether you are a learner, educator, physician, administrator, or institutional leader, this episode offers concrete ideas and inspiration for advancing disability inclusion within your own environment. Trained as a family physician and dedicated to resilience through sustainable practice development, Dr. Lavitt also offers coaching and peer support to family physicians on advocacy, disability, and well-being through the Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP). She established the first peer support group for physicians with chronic illness and/or disabilities at the OCFP in 2024 and continues to co-lead this group monthly. While she finds working with individual physicians and small groups deeply rewarding, this intervention is not enough to dismantle the system of barriers that disabled physicians face in our medical culture, so Dr. Lavitt brings her professional and lived experience as a disabled physician to advocacy initiatives at her academic institution, provincial, and national levels with involvement in peer support projects, webinars, and conference appearances. Visit https://focusnowtraining.com/a2a-course to sign up NOW!!Marcus Aurelius said it nearly two thousand years ago: we all love ourselves more than other people, but care more about their opinion than our own. On this episode of Men Talking Mindfulness, hosts Jon Macaskill and Will Schneider sit down with Andy Riise... army officer, mental performance coach for NFL athletes including the Chicago Bears, and host of the Skull Sessions podcast... to break down the approval trap and why it's quietly running most men's lives. Will lays the biological foundation. Fear of negative evaluation, FNE, is one of the most studied patterns in clinical psychology. Your brain processes social rejection through the same neural circuits it uses for physical pain. Getting dismissed in a meeting registers the same way getting punched does. That's evolutionary wiring, not weakness. The guys get into the spotlight effect (Cornell research showing people overestimate how much others notice them by roughly double), Andy's story of deliberately sitting with a different group at the West Point prep school mess hall, and Alyssa Liu's gold medal comeback after quitting figure skating to rediscover why she loved it in the first place.Jon, Will, and Andy walk through how FNE shows up in daily life: the yes-man pattern at work that stalls careers, the reassurance-seeking in relationships that erodes attraction, the Disney dad trap of buying approval instead of earning respect, and the deepest layer... the ghost. Most men are performing for one or two specific people from their past, and they've been doing it for decades.Andy teaches the BASS framework he uses with NFL athletes for real-time emotional regulation. Will adds a values audit and a spotlight effect experiment. And Jon talks about how purpose is the single biggest antidote to approval-seeking, which ties directly into the A2A (Awareness to Action) course launching through Focus Now Training. What you'll hear in this episode:Why social rejection activates the same brain circuits as physical painThe spotlight effect: half as many people are watching you as you thinkAndy's West Point mess hall story and why crossing social lines is the real macho moveAlyssa Liu's gold medal run and the next-play mindsetHow FNE shows up at work, in relationships, with kids, and in communityThe ghost concept: who you're still performing for decades laterBASS framework: Breathe, Accept, Separate, ShiftMotivational interviewing basics: OARS (Open questions, Affirmations, Reflective listening, Summarizing)Purpose as the antidote to approval-seekingAndy's podcast: Skull Sessions (available everywhere) Andy's TEDx talk: Fight to Win the War from WithinFull episode: https://pod.fo/e/3abd25Text MTM to 33777 for updates on new episodes, the A2A course, and resources from Focus Now Training.Jon's book, DIAL in Your Leadership: 4 Non-negotiables for Leading with Clarity, Trust, and Purpose, is available now on Amazon. https://a.co/d/0hYwI2SzFollow Men Talking Mindfulness, Jon Macaskill, and Will Schneider for more.Hosted on Ausha.
