Ho visto nascere internet e diventare onnipresente nelle nostre vite.Ora sto assistendo all'arrivo dell'Intelligenza Artificiale.

This is the type of conversation I should have had on the show a long time ago. Industry veteran, brand-builder, and all-around great guy, Brian Boero joins the show today. Brian is Co-founder at the branding and strategy agency, 1000WATT. They focus exclusively on working with brands in the real estate vertical including brokerages, lenders, and technology companies. One of the first topics I was eager to get Brian to dig into was on the importance of brand and storytelling within the real estate industry. You'll hear insights shared aimed at the broker / agent, but also applicable advice for proptech companies. One theme Brian points out is the tendency of companies to talk about features instead of benefits and why that's detrimental to do so.Of course, we couldn't avoid the evolving topic of real estate commissions. The topic affects more than just agents, but any business that is built around transaction volume and that could be impacted by new rules coming to the industry. Don't delay, download and listen.More about Brian and 1000WATT1000WATT is real estate's branding and strategy agency.

I am going to be gushing about this one for a long time!!!For this week's discussion I talked with Natalie Boero about Kimberly Dark's Fat, Pretty and Soon to Be Old. Natalie wrote the article about me that was recently in Women Who Podcast Magazine and I asked her if she wanted to spend some time with me on this show. If you've been in body liberation circles for a bit, you will recognize Natalie as the author of Killer Fat (which normally always gets a reference in most current body acceptance books), so needless to say I am a little excited she came on.

Gary Keller made a series of very bold claims when he announced the launch of the new KW tech platform at January’s Family Reunion conference, even going so far as to say that ‘the race to build the first end-to-end real estate platform is over and everyone else is competing for second place.’ Today, Rob and Greg are discussing Keller’s comments, questioning the decision to set the bar so high and sharing Brian Boero’s take on Keller’s hubris as that of a master showman rallying the troops. Rob asks how we might measure the success of the KW tech platform and how much big-time investments in tech truly impact agent productivity. Rob and Greg also explore the idea that introducing new tech serves to ‘stop the bleeding,’ keeping agents and agent teams from leaving for tech centric brokerages like eXp. Listen in for insight around the performance of traditional brokerages that put big money in tech and learn why Rob believes the industry should stop fighting the last war and shift its focus to capital. What’s Discussed: The hype around the launch of the Keller Williams consumer app Boero’s take that Keller’s hubris is necessary to ‘rally the troops’ How we might measure the success of the KW tech platform The dismal numbers reported in Realogy’s recent earnings call How much tech investments truly impact realtor productivity Why Rob believes the industry needs to focus on capital vs. tech KW’s potential to systematize agent marketing through software Connect with Rob and Greg: Rob’s Website Greg’s Website Email gregrobertson@gmail.com Resources: 2019 Clareity MLS Executive Workshop ‘Gary, Put Down the Bong’ in Vendor Alley ‘Gary Keller Declares Victory in Real Estate Tech Platform Race’ in Inman ‘Keller Kabuki’ in 1000watt ‘Please Stop Fighting the Last War’ in Notorious ROB Our Sponsors: Cloud MLX The Red Dot
Dr. Natalie Boero is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at San Jose State University. She joins Every Body this week to discuss the ways our society pigeon holes obesity as a personal problem for the individual rather than examining the wider socioeconomic scope (access to good health care, food deserts, safe places to play and be active) and its effects on public health. Dr. Boero discusses how she began in the field with her first book, Killer Fat: Media, Medicine and Morals in the American Obesity Epidemic. She explains the problem with medicalizing non-medical instances such as weight or violence with words like "epidemic" which cause panic and risky preventative measures. "My being the 'good fatty' probably has a lot to do with my class and race privilege in the sense that I have the resources to do certain things or I have the absence of other privileges that sort of blunt some of the other stigmas that I have experienced... we shouldn't judge moral worth based on health." - Dr. Natalie Boero This Week on the Every Body Podcast: How Dr. Boero began her study into the "obesity epidemic" with her dissertation. How the term "obesity epidemic" was coined. The ways that weight bias has become a scapegoat in blaming minority groups for their own disadvantages. The effects of socioeconomics on weight and health. The correlation between chronic dieting and food restriction in the last 70 years with the general increase in the weight of Americans. The problematic ways we produce and distribute food globally. How focusing on fatness distracts from the larger public interest (i.e. psychological effects of fat stigma, access to safe places to play/be active, etc).
