Dudich Ákos író-fordító, a Konkrét Könyvek kiadó tulajdonosa, aki a zene, az irodalom és az indián kultúra világát egyaránt szenvedéllyel közvetíti. Ákos egykori zenei újságíróként kezdte pályáját, majd fordítóként és könyvkiadóként vált ismertté. A Konkrét Könyvek két fő irányt képvisel: a zenei életrajzok és az indián kultúrával foglalkozó kiadványok világát. A kiadó most egy különleges kötettel készül az ünnepekre, Walter McClintock „Régi északi ösvény” című művével, amely először jelenik meg magyarul. A könyv a feketelábú indiánok kultúráját mutatja be, az 1900-as évek elejének eredeti szertartásait és legendáit eleveníti fel. A főhős számára ez a könyv személyes ügy. „Édesapámtól örököltem az indián kultúra iránti érdeklődést, ez már a véremben van” – árulja el. Az életmódrekonstrukciós táborokban, a bakonyi indián közösségekben való részvételei is ezt az elhivatottságot tükrözik, ahol minden nyáron újraéli a törzsi hagyományokat és a természet közelségét. A Konkrét Könyvek azonban nemcsak kulturális misszió: Ákos a Red Hot Chili Peppers, a Linkin Park vagy a Sepultura frontembereiről szóló, magyar nyelven megjelent könyvek kiadójaként is ismert. Elmondta, hogy ezek a fordítások mindig személyes kihívások, mert a zenészek karakterét és hangját magyarul is hitelesen kell visszaadni mesterséges eszközök nélkül, tisztán emberi érzékkel. A műsorban szó esett arról is, hogyan született a Kartel fenegyerekének, Big Daddy Lacának életrajzi könyve, amelyet Ákos társszerzőként jegyez. A közös munka során barátság született kettejük között, hiszen – ahogy mondta – „ezek az életrajzok azon túl, hogy kordokumentumok, lényegében inkább emberi történetek”. Hamarosan új zenei kiadványok is érkeznek: készül a Gary Holt (Exodus, Slayer) önéletrajz, valamint egy Rammstein-történetet feldolgozó képregény, Gauder Áron illusztrációival. Pápai Erika, Jászai Mari-díjas színművész a Karinthy Színház színpadán készül új bemutatójára, az Apácák című zenés előadásra.A darabot Pataki András rendezte, és a színésznő olyan kollégákkal játszik együtt, mint Vándor Éva, Balázs Andrea, Mikecz Estilla és Dobra Mara. Az abszurd humorral, groteszk helyzetekkel és sok zenével átszőtt előadás egy különleges történetet mesél el: egy apátság nővérei pénzgyűjtő estet szerveznek, hogy eltemethessék társaikat, akiket egy furcsa baleset ért. A produkció egyszerre szórakoztató és szívhez szóló, miközben a zenés műfaj minden energiáját megmozgatja. Azt mondja, az alkotás folyamata sokszor küzdelmes, de pont ettől válik nemes tapasztalattá. Az Apácák előadásban ének, tánc és humor találkozik, a szereplők pedig igazi közösséget alkotnak a színpadon. Erika szerint a darab egyik titka az, hogy a groteszk szituáció mögött mély emberi üzenet húzódik: a hit, a kitartás és az összetartozás ereje. A műsorban arról is beszél, hogy a színészet számára szolgálat. A közönség minden este időt, energiát és figyelmet áldoz a színházra, ezért a színésznek kötelessége ugyanezt visszaadni. „Ha elfelejtjük, hogy a színház szolgálat, akkor valami nagyon összekeveredik” – fogalmazta meg a pályáról vallott hitvallását. Kellner Dénes, író, költő, alias David Kronberg „A csillagok egyedül vannak” című verseskötete új oldalát mutatja meg az alkotónak. A műsorban Dénes mesél arról, hogyan született meg ez a különleges könyv, amelyet eredetileg nem is akart kiadni, mert – ahogy fogalmazott – „a vers túl intim”. A kötet végül mégis megjelent az Irodalmi Rádió gondozásában, akik szeretettel és szakmai igényességgel segítették a munkát. A borítót Mészáros Borbála tervezte, és maga az alkotó is meglepetten élte meg, milyen személyes, őszinte és sokszínű lett a végeredmény. A csillagok egyedül vannak hat ciklusra épül, benne könnyed, játékos és gyerekversek, de a középpontban a szerelem áll – annak öröme, fájdalma, melankóliája és beteljesülése. A kötet szíve két fejezet: „A szerelmes a költő, és ez jó neki” és „A szerelmes a költő, és ez rossz neki”, ahogy Dénes fogalmaz, ezekben található az élet legőszintébb rezdülése. A beszélgetésben elhangzik az „Időtlen” című vers is, amelyből Dénes fejből idéz, és megosztja azt a gondolatot, hogy „a szív emlékszik mindenre, amit valóban átéltünk”. A műsorvezetővel arról is beszélgetnek, hogy a versek zenévé válhatnak, hiszen mindegyikben ott rejlik egy ritmus, egy dallam, ami akár énekelt formában is életre kelhet. A turné zárókoncertje december 27-én az A38 Hajón lesz , ahol a közönség egy igazi évzáró ünnepre számíthat. A koncertsorozat mellett készül egy különleges könyv is, Utazás a kegyetlenbe címmel, amely 2026 elején jelenik meg. A kötetben rövid írások, zenekari történetek és személyes reflexiók váltják egymást a zene, az élet és az alkotás határterületeiről. Krisztián vallja, hogy az írás és a zenélés egyaránt belső kényszer, önkifejezés és terápiás folyamat, amelyben a dalok nem csupán szórakoztatnak, hanem tükröt tartanak a világnak. Jövő nyáron sokak örömére újabb fejezet nyílik, ugyanis a Heaven Street Seven egyszeri, megismételhetetlen koncerttel tér vissza augusztus 8-án a Budapest Parkban, „Kábé 30” címmel. Szőllősi Rita, iparművész, a Rearticon Iparművészeti Egyesület elnöke, aki az Iparmű Szalon megálmodója és főszervezője.Az Iparmű Szalon különleges esemény, amely idén két adventi hétvégén, december 12–14-én és 19–21-én várja a látogatókat a De la Motte-palotában (Budai Vár, Dísz tér 15.). A háromnapos program célja, hogy új formát adjon a kortárs kézművességnek: exkluzív, mégis közvetlen hangulatban mutatja be a legkiválóbb magyar iparművészeket. A rendezvény valódi kulturális élmény. Professor Terlaky is the director of the Quantum Computing and Optimization Laboratory (QCOL). He served as the Chair of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Lehigh University, 2008 – 2017. Prior to his appointment at Lehigh U., Prof. Terlaky has taught at Eötvös U., Budapest, Hungary; Delft University of Technology, Delft, Netherlands; McMaster U., ON, Canada. At McMaster he also served as the founding Director of the School of Computational Engineering and Science. Prof. Terlaky has published four books, edited over ten books and journal special issues and published over 220 research papers. Topics include theoretical and algorithmic foundations of operations research (e.g., invention of the criss-cross method), design and analysis of large classes of interior point methods, computational optimization, worst case examples of the central path, nuclear reactor core reloading optimization, oil refinery and VLSI design optimization and robust radiation therapy treatment optimization. Further, his research interest includes high performance optimization methods, optimization modeling, optimization problems in engineering sciences, and Quantum Computing Optimization. Prof. Terlaky is Founding Editor-in-Chief of the journal, Optimization and Engineering, and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications . He has served as associate editor of ten journals and has served as conference chair, conference organizer, and distinguished invited speaker at conferences all over the world. He was general Chair of the INFORMS 2015 Annual Meeting, a former Chair of INFORMS' Optimization Society, Chair of the ICCOPT Steering Committee of the Mathematical Optimization Society, Chair of the SIAM Activity Groupon Optimization. He received: the MITACS Mentorship Award for his distinguished Ph.D. student supervisory record; the Egerváry Award of the Hungarian Operations Research Society; the Award of Merit of the Canadian Operations Research Society; The Wagner Prize of INFORMS; The Outstanding Innovation in Service Science Engineering Award of IISE. Prof. Terlaky is Fellow of the Fields Institute, Fellow of INFORMS, Fellow of SIAM, Fellow of IFORS, and Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering.

So there's Paul, Rachael, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. Rachael managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shop owner and his son... that's a different story altogether...nasty business, really. But, sure enough, we got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show. NEW SERIES ON JEWISH HISTORY SOUNDBITES On June 30, 1944, a train departed Budapest, Hungary, carrying 1,684 Jews as its passengers. This occurred during the peak of the Nazi deportations of Hungarian Jewry to Auschwitz in the horrific summer of 1944. This particular trainload however, following a short stint in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, was permitted to cross the border into Switzerland and freedom. The entire project was orchestrated through direct negotiations with the SS through the efforts of a young Zionist leader in Budapest named Rudolf Kastner. Though the lives of those on the train were saved, the entire operation was deemed controversial due to the fact that Kastner chose not to spread the word of the impending deportations among the wider masses of Hungarian Jewry. This resulted in an even more controversial courtroom drama in the 1950's in Jerusalem, in a trial erroneously known to history as the Kastner trial. This multi part series now being launched on Jewish History Soundbites podcast will examine the story of the negotiations, rescue, aftermath, trial and legacy. It will attempt to provide a historical context as it was understood by the diverse array of characters involved in the narrative at the time.
