You get a little bit of dread around the holidays: true or true? The holidays are a time meant to be enjoyed with family, yet we dread them. WHY?It's because of this concept I call The Holiday Handbook. Most of us have inherited this handbook of expectations and rules telling us how to behave around the holidays. The Holiday Handbook is full of things to do and NOT to do to be a good mom.Buying all the gifts for the in-laws, inviting both families to Christmas Eve even though they don't get along, researching and perfecting recipes, Elf On The Shelf, making the cutest crafts, sending out Christmas cards, hosting the big cookie exchange for the 27th year in a row…If you want to be a good mom and give a good holiday experience to your family, The Holiday Handbook is something you have to live by.And the list of must-do's inside is NEVERENDING. Our calendars are JAM PACKED.No wonder we have holiday dread when we're running around from October 25th to January 7th trying to create the perfect holiday experience for everyone.Enough already. It's time to drop the holiday dread and say yes to what YOU want. You in?In this episode, I'm sharing a ton of really applicable things that will bring more joy to your holiday season starting THIS YEAR, like:How to allow yourself to disappoint others Ways to destress your holidays without depending on food for comfortUnderstanding the differences between true guilt and false guiltHow to keep your traditions alive without killing yourselfShare this episode with the women in your life who are ready to feel joy around the holidays again.COMING UP -Ho-Ho-Ho Hot for the Holidays Masterclass on November 26th Sign up at https://portal.lauraconley.com/hot If 2024 is the year you know you're ready to lose weight for the last time, it's time for the Yummy Mummy Experience. Hey, Green Junkie! The other day I posted this quote on Instagram. “Don't feel guilty when you forget your bags or coffee mug or water bottle or buy something fast fashion.” In my attempt to help my community feel less guilty about not being perfect in their sustainable lifestyles, I hit a nerve. I got messages and comments that were appalled at my message and couldn't believe I wouldn't WANT people to feel guilt or shame about not making green choices all the time. They couldn't believe I wouldn't want to use guilt as a motivator to make people take action. And sorry, not sorry, this is just NOT how I operate. I've been on both sides of this issue and I truly don't believe that guilt or shame is an effective tool or motivator for change. It just causes harm. So in today's episode I wanted to address this and share my side of the story and encourage you to give up the guilt and shame and be green without all the guilt. In this episode we will discuss, The comments that sparked this episodeWhat research says about guiltHow to live a green lifestyle without all the guilt and shameYou'll discover that and so much more in this episode.By the end of this episode, Green Junkie, you'll be able to confidently live more green without the fear of failure.
