The classic album "Stay Hungry" from the legendary Twisted Sister is one of Metaldom's most celebrated efforts. The singles spoke to us. Some songs creeped us out. Most importantly, it scared the hell out of the non-believers that needed the fright. It also turns 40 this year! So we gave it the deep dive treatment in our continuing '84 Anniversary albums. We go over how we discovered this platter, the effect and influence on the biz it had and do a track by track dissection. Enjoy, SMFers!   In our "News, Views and Tunes",  it's Canada Day! So Aaron gave Snowy some trivia about Canada (Can you believe the animal was not a Moose?!?). Musically, it's all Canadian artists feat. Sacrifice, Razor, Thor, Kick Axe, Nocturnal Departure, Assault, Buchoffuckinggoofs, Varga, Malhavoc, Overthrow, Society's Grudge, Yer Mum and Chocolate Bunnies from Hell.     Horns Up!

The Messes Des Morts in Montreal is a Black Metal festival going on for a dozen years now. The attraction to the fest is the organizers ability to attract artists from across the pond that rarely makes appearances on North American stages. We had planned to be there for this year's instalment. Unfortunately, life had different plans. Fortunately, our good friend and co host of our sister podcast "Wrestling Night In Canada" Mr. "Ducky" Dustin Maruca made the trip. We picked his brain all about the fest. Namely the line up and highlights. And he shares a few cool stories making us wish we were there. Originally released June 2018: The Transformers: The Movie is a six million dollar animated film that came out in 1986, co-produced and directed by Nelson Shin, who also produced the original The Transformers television series on which the film was based. The origins of that cartoon series was a line of toys produced by Hasbro, based on designs which originated in Japan, vehicles which transformed into robots. The film spawned an amazing hard rock soundtrack which is the focus of today's episode. On this episode you will hear conversations BJ had with Stan Bush, who wrote and sang the first single from the soundtrack, "The Touch," Vince Dicola, who wrote the song "Dare," also sung by Stan Bush (Vince also wrote the score for the film), and members from the three bands featured on the soundtrack: Jerry Best, bassist from Lion, who recorded a heavy metal version of The Transformers theme, Ernie Petrangelo, guitarist and songwriter from Rhode Island metal band NRG, responsible for the killer track "Instruments of Destruction," and Larry Gillstrom, guitarist from Canadian heavy metal band Kick Axe, who were credited as Spectre General for the soundtrack, they contributed two songs, "Nothing's Gonna Stand In Our Way" and "Hunger." This episode is a deep dive into one of the funnest movie soundtracks of the eighties. It's more than meets the ear! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Tony Palmucci se unió a Baton Rouge en 1991 y lanzó el álbum Lights Out on The Playground.

They share stories about being signed by Spencer Proffer of Pasha Records, recording in Hollywood, hanging out on the Sunset Strip in the 80s, opening for Judas Priest, the Scorpions, and Whitesnake, and touring with Quiet Riot. You’ll hear about the making of the “Vices” and “Welcome to the Club” albums, and what happened when they opened for Metallica. "GO DUNK". It's time for another episode of the Canadian Geeks Chatting Metal Podcast! This week this hosts sit down for a chat with very special guest, Darrell "Dunk", "Dwarf", "Darnell", "the Rock n Roll Pirate" Millar. When Darrell is not pounding drums with the KiLLeR DWaRfS or singing vocals with Automan, you might just find him tapping away at a keyboard. It seems he has now added "Author" to his impressive resume. His first book "Guardian of a Time Keeper" is now available. Not exactly a typical Rock n Roll biography, it seems that our Rock n Roll Pirate has had more than his fair share of "near death experiences". Guardian of a Time Keeper is a collection of these near misses in graphic detail. All told with the all too familiar Dwarf sense of humour. Darrell has survived multiple near drownings, horrific automobile accidents, fires, natural disasters, terrible falls and being interviewed by the Canadian Geeks! The Meister and Wallygator dive into the book but also take some time discuss the Dwarfs, Automan, his connection to Steppenwolf, Laidlaw, Kick Axe and parenting in today's world. Most importantly the CGCM Podcast is given an exclusive. Listen in as Darrell tells the abbreviated but very entertaining story of how he ended up with the nickname "DUNK"! It's an hour of stories, lots of laughs and some fantastic music including the brand new Automan track, "Street Urchin"

The Transformers: The Movie is a 6 million dollar animated film that came out in 1986, co-produced and directed by Nelson Shin, who also produced the original The Transformers television series on which the film was based. The origins of that cartoon series was a line of toys produced by Hasbro, based on designs which originated in Japan, toys that were vehicles which transformed into robots. The film spawned an amazing hard rock soundtrack which is the focus of today’s episode. On this episode you will hear conversations BJ had with Stan Bush, who wrote and sang the first single from the soundtrack, "The Touch," Vince Dicola, who wrote the song "Dare," also sung by Stan Bush (Vince also wrote the score for the film), and members from the three bands featured on the soundtrack: Jerry Best, bassist from Lion, who recorded a heavy metal version of The Transformers theme, Ernie Petrangelo, guitarist and songwriter from Rhode island metal band NRG, responsible for the killer track "Instruments of Destruction," and Larry Gillstrom, guitarist from Canadian heavy metal band Kick Axe, who were credited as Spectre General for the soundtrack, they contributed two songs, "Nothing’s Gonna Stand In Our Way" and "Hunger."
