It was a great experience in connecting with one of the leading motivational speakers of India Simerjeet Singh. He shared valuable lessons of determination and mindset that can really help you grow. @Simerjeet Singh believes that success is finding our purpose, and then designing a life that embraces it. He chose to take on great risks by leaving his career and becoming a motivational speaker. After spending close to a decade leading diverse, multinational teams, he took the first step in the next leg of his journey by becoming a Certified NLP Practitioner and Personal Performance Coach from the UK. Most of us underestimate our abilities. The result is that we often avoid taking on new challenges or proactively pursuing new opportunities because we don't trust sufficiently in our ability to rise to the challenges they involve. So consider where you need to lean toward risk rather than away from it. Even if things don't go exactly to plan, you'll still be better off. Every time you take a risk, you improve your ability to discern risk, your competence to manage it, and your courage to take them more often. You are braver than you think and can do more than you know. Watch this podcast: Edgy Entrepreneur on YouTube In this episode, we discuss what it means to be an Edgy Entrepreneur - a person driven by ambition and the relentless pursuit of heart-entered, high-performance. How does what you believe about yourself shape your ability to be able to succeed in business? Many of us struggle with limiting beliefs that show up for us while building our business. These could be related to stories you've told yourself since childhood. These self-limiting beliefs often create barriers that you don't realize are keeping you from succeeding to your fullest potential. We also present our “main focus question” for each episode (What was the biggest aha-moment in your personal mastery while building your business?), we each answer the question; and we each discuss the ways in which we have seen our personal growth areas reflected back at us in our experiences in life and business and our relevant takeaways and challenges. I recently renewed my long time passion for horseback riding and met today’s guest — Barbra Schulte — at the C Lazy U dude ranch in Granby, Colorado where she was teaching peak performance on and off a horse. Barbra is a Professional Cutting Horse Trainer, personal peak performance coach, and Equine Consultant. She is a Cowgirl Hall of Fame inductee and, this January, Barbra will be awarded the prestigious Women of the West Award given by Western Horseman Magazine. Barbra joins me on the podcast to discuss how she became interested in optimal human performance and to share some of her tips on finding your path to peak performance. Listen in to learn the connection between positive and negative emotions and their impact on performance and to gain some serious tips on how to move past your hurdles and get yourself to your highest peak performance level. The 3 biggest hurdles to peak performance and how to move past them Blame — even self-blame — is a way to trick your mind into taking the pressure off of yourself in a situation — “who cares, I’m not putting any more energy into this”. It is the most difficult emotion to get past to achieve high performance. Anger — unlike blame, anger has some measure of energy and so you can propel yourself towards peak performance with it; make sure to watch the direction of this energy, steer it away from blame. Nerves/anxiety/fear — nerves are the closest emotion to shifting into that positive emotional mindset and peak performance. How to shift away from negative emotions and find your calmness: Recognize your current state and name it Get calm — conscious breathing (inhale for four, exhale for four) — take the time you need to lower your heart rate; it takes practice. Direct your energy and move forward. Over time, you can work to condition the calmness by adding a physical trigger. Loree Bischoff is a Personal Performance Coach, Podcaster of We’re Talking Shift, and Author. She gives sound advice about how to age well and provides you with 5 steps to get started living your healthiest lifestyle. What does it take to age well according to Loree? What do you want it to be? Why do you want the health that you want? How are you going to get there? What process will you use? Having a plan and a goal will get you to the point of aging well for how you envision it. Attitude and energy are indicators for how people will age, and shifting this at any point is possible. Loree says it’s important to compliment others by saying “you look so healthy” instead of saying “you’re pretty”! Loree discusses notable guests on her show such as an expert who spoke about healthy fats and oils like with Joe Cross and with episode like Health Shift: "Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead." Other guests include Dr. Tommy John who has also spoken about different ways of exercising, and Dr. Lori Schemek to discuss sugar and processed foods. Sugar, fat and salt are designed to make you addicted and your taste buds are involved in that process as well, by design. We have a whole generation of children who may not outlive their parents. Loree says the rule has to be that sugar should not be a part of your daily lifestyle, and people don’t realize that refined flour has the same effect as sugar. Sugar throws your glucose levels off, and your pancreas has to work in overdrive which produces an overabundance of insulin and makes your glucose plummet. This body process affects your energy and works against you as it is taxing on your whole body system. Loree says there is a 5 step process for aging well that she outlines in this episode. What you are putting into your body affects everything in your body and your body is being replaced and regenerated biologically so taking care of it is paramount to how well you age. If you continue doing the same things over and over, you will continue to get the same results, but if you look at this time as an opportunity to make changes for long term positive outcomes. Loree references several authors to back up her ideas in addition to the deep learning she has been doing for years and practices herself. Some of the work she mentions is by Dr. Deepak Chopra Dr. Bruce Lipton and epigenetics, Dr. Joe Dispenza Maxwell Maltz Psycho-Cybernetics. Something Loree asks is what is it that you can stop doing right now that will make a difference, and one way you can check yourself when something is enticing, ask yourself if it aligns with your goal. It is also important to let go of stress, toxicity and resentment in your life. Ultimately, she says to stop disrespecting your body and take on the rest of your life with the most energy and care you can so that it functions at its best. Lastly, Loree says that if this is important to you, you have to get really GREEDY about your health. “Health is wealth!” Podcast: https://www.loreebischoff.com/projects Books: https://www.loreebischoff.com/shop Website: https://www.loreebischoff.com/ Facebook: @LoreeBischoff Instagram: @loree.bischoff Twitter: @LoreeBLifeCoach LinkedIn: LoreeBischoff AdvancingHumanityPodcast.com HumanitySpeaker.com

By going through her own personal journey into coaching Natalie discusses the importance of emotional intelligence, trust and empathy. The power of silence and listening are powerful movements to allow a coach to move a client from A to B, using tools such as 'the wheel of life' and tapping into their mindset, helping them feel empowered and ready to take action. We talk about mental heath and the worrying statistics that 1 in 3 in the UK are suffering with a mental health issue from anxiety to depression. Natalie wanted to give something back by volunteering at Shout:Support Crisis. This has also helped her outlook and mindset with building rapport and trust with clients whilst challenging their limited beliefs but holding them accountable in a supportive way. Elise’s guest on today’s Because of Horses podcast is the extraordinary horsewoman, Barbra Schulte. She is the only woman to win the Cutting Horse "Triple Crown”: the NCHA Derby, the NCHA Super Stakes Classic, and the Augusta Futurity. She was also awarded National Female Equestrian of the Year by the American Quarter Horse Association and the Women’s Sports Foundation, and is a National Cowgirl Hall of Fame inductee, former Vice President of the Cutting Horse Association, a professional trainer and clinician, a certified Performance Coach, multi-published author, and an equine consultant. On top of all that, Barbra Schulte is an advocate — and a great example — of living life to the fullest. In this episode, she and Elise discuss how her parents’ training business impacted her own career, from a very early age; how it felt to compete at 13 against adults at the national level – and win; and how her degree and initial, non-horse career actually fed her passion for horses and makes her that much more effective as a trainer and a coach. In this conversation, Barbara also talks about some of the universal rider issues she’s observed and worked to correct; how she helps guide riders to reframe their thoughts and “rein” in their emotions; explains what makes a good Cutting Horse; and shares her own riding approach and techniques. Topics of Discussion: [:19] About Elise’s guest today, Barbra Schulte. [1:02] When did Barbra realize she had a talent for horses? Or was it just always present from her early childhood? [5:25] As a very young rider competing against adult professionals, did Barbra realize how remarkable her achievements were? [8:26] How Barbra’s previous studies and careers connect with her current path and passion for horses. [13:37] Universal obstacles and issues that Barbra comes across time and again as a certified Personal Performance Coach. [17:00] How does Barbra coach riders to reframe their thoughts and “rein” in their emotions? [21:57] About Elise’s book, A Parent’s Guide to Riding Lessons! [22:40] What is it like to ride a good Cutting Horse? What makes a good Cutter? And how does Barbra hang on? [28:28] Barbra speculates why there tend to be more men in Cutting than women. [31:33] About next week’s episode of Because of Horses. [32:44] What it means to Barbra to be honored by the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. [36:25] About how Barbra’s husband, Tom, and his nominating her for the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame. [36:39] How Tom and Barbra work together on a day-to-day basis. [40:44] Elise thanks YOU for listening to Because of Horses! She reads a couple reviews from new listeners and thanks everyone for tuning in.
