Ever caught yourself wondering where the hours go? This week's Feelings Fitness episode will transform your relationship with the clock, as I take you through my own journey of mastering time management. With life's pace quickening, especially after parenthood, I've stumbled upon strategies that shifted my daily grind into a well-oiled machine of productivity and purpose. Imagine starting your day already poised for success because you've embraced the art of 'mise en place'—a culinary concept that, when applied to life, means setting your intentions and tools for the next day before your head hits the pillow. This isn't just about getting things done; it's a deeper dive into living with intention, letting go of chaos and embracing the moments that truly matter. We're nearing the end of our year-long quest for holistic fitness, and this 51st episode is a heartfelt call to action to take control of your time. Learn how tracking your day can be illuminating, putting 'big rocks' first can revolutionize your to-do list, and how batching tasks might just be the productivity hack you've been seeking. But that's not all—time blocking could be the game-changer you need to carve out space for your priorities. As we share and reflect on these time management revelations, I encourage you to join me in this commitment to make every tick of the clock count towards a more fulfilling, balanced, and intentional life.

[SEGMENT 1: PRIORITIZING LIKE A PRO] Our first stop on the journey to mastering time management is learning how to prioritize tasks. You know that a never-ending to-do list can sometimes feel overwhelming, but with the right approach, you can turn chaos into clarity. One strategy is the Eisenhower Matrix, where tasks are divided into four categories: urgent and important, important but not urgent, urgent but not important, and neither urgent nor important. By sorting your tasks into these categories, you can focus on what truly matters and eliminate time-wasting activities. Remember, not all tasks are created equal, and mastering time management means knowing how to differentiate between what's urgent and what's truly important. -High Likability / High Impact -High Likability / Low Impact -Low Likability / Low Impact -Low Likability / High Impact [SEGMENT 2: DELEGATING FOR SUCCESS] Moving on to our second strategy, let's talk about delegation. It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that you have to do everything yourself, but that's simply not true. Effective leaders and time managers know how to delegate tasks to others who are better suited for them. Delegating doesn't just free up your time; it also empowers your team members and fosters a collaborative environment. Remember, folks, you don't have to be a superhero – sometimes, the real superpower lies in your ability to trust and empower others. [SEGMENT 3: THE ART OF SETTING ACHIEVABLE GOALS] Ah, goal-setting – it's like crafting your own roadmap to success. Our third strategy involves setting achievable goals. One of the most effective ways to do this is by using the SMART criteria: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Specific – State what you you'll do, I want to lose 25 pounds of fat. Measurable – Provide a way to evaluate, track or Use metrics or data targets. I will use MyFitnessPal Pal Achievable – Are you able to take action to achieve goal? Actionable goals ensure the steps to get there are within your control. Realistic – Avoid overwhelm and unnecessary stress and frustration by making the goal realistic. Timebound – A date, day and time helps us stay focused and motivated, inspired and something to work towards. When your goals meet these criteria, they become clearer and more actionable. This, in turn, helps you allocate your time more efficiently towards tasks that actually contribute to your long-term objectives. Remember, listeners, goals without a plan are just dreams. So, dream big, but make sure to map out the steps to get there. [SEGMENT 4: THE POWER OF TIME BLOCKING] Now, let's dive into a time management technique that's gained a lot of traction lately – time blocking. This method involves breaking your day into chunks of time dedicated to specific tasks. It's a fantastic way to create a sense of structure and prevent tasks from bleeding into each other. By allocating set periods for different activities, you not only stay on track but also reduce the likelihood of multitasking, which can often lead to decreased productivity. Remember, folks, it's not about doing more; it's about doing better. Work harder, and work smarter. I do 30-minute time blocks with 4 intervals, then take a 30 minute break typically for lunch. Then another set of 4 intervals, and repeat. [SEGMENT 5: WRAPPING UP AND TAKING ACTION] Remember, mastering time management is an ongoing journey, and it's perfectly okay to try out different techniques to find what works best for you. As we wrap up today's episode, I encourage each and every one of you to take action. Start implementing these strategies into your daily routine and watch as your productivity soars to new heights. And don't forget, if you stumble along the way, that's part of the process too. Keep learning, keep growing, and keep leveling up! Dr. Eric Thomas continues speaking from 1 Samuel 1, on how giving your situation fully to God is needed before any real change can take place. ⁃ 1 Samuel 1:15. Observe how Hannah prayed differently before change entered her life. She cried out to God in deep sorrow and pain while giving him ultimate control. ⁃ Don't try to help God with your perspective of the situation! Lean on his understanding and not your own. Approach God first and let him order your next steps. Proverbs 3:5-6 ⁃ “You will get there by the spirit and not your own might.” ⁃ Matthew 16:17. Blessings are revealed to you not by flesh, but by our father in heaven. Our Lord & Savior will always remain the source of life and blessings. Immerse yourself in his ways to make the rest of your life the best of your life! Dangers Of Flesh Actions ⁃ Repeating Cycles. ⁃ Continuous Murmuring. ⁃ Inconsistency. ⁃ “Stop expecting people to carry the burden that God has put on you to get closer to him.” ⁃ Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal. ⁃ Take your pain & situations directly to God. Categories of Time Use, Part 3 (Get Things Done #124) by Daniel Whyte III
I am Daniel Whyte III, president of GLM Omnimedia Group, and this is Episode #123 of the "Get Things Done!” podcast. The simple purpose of this podcast is to help you get things done every day so that you can accomplish something worthwhile with your life. I am a firm believer that God has put each person on earth to do something great for His glory. As we begin, let me give you this reminder from the Word of God. Philippians 2:14-15 says: "Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;" Our quote for today is from Newt Gingrich. He said: "Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did." Today, in the Get Things Done podcast we are looking at "Categories of Time Use, Part 2." - - - - - - - - - Now, let's pray our prayer together -- Almighty and most merciful Father; We have erred, and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against Thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; And we have done those things which we ought not to have done; And there is no health in us. But Thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare Thou those, O God, who confess their faults. Restore Thou those who are penitent; According to Thy promises declared unto mankind In Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for His sake; That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, To the glory of thy holy Name. Amen. Now, the greatest secret to getting things done with your life for the glory of God is to have the Lord Jesus Christ in your life. When you have Jesus in your life, you can say with Paul in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, here’s how. First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death…" Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Now this is bad news, but here’s the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will. Romans 10:9-13 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." God bless you, and remember: if you have something to do, there is no better time to do it than now.
I am Daniel Whyte III, president of GLM Omnimedia Group, and this is Episode #122 of the "Get Things Done!” podcast. The simple purpose of this podcast is to help you get things done every day so that you can accomplish something worthwhile with your life. I am a firm believer that God has put each person on earth to do something great for His glory. In this podcast, we are going through the book "Getting Things Done: The ABCs of Time Management" by Edwin C. Bliss. Today, I will continue sharing with you some of the principles on productivity, getting things done, and avoiding procrastination that Edwin C. Bliss talks about in his book. As we begin, let me give you this reminder from the Word of God. Proverbs 16:3 says: "Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established." Our quote for today is from Vince Lombardi. He said: "The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand." Why It's Okay If Your Kid Eats Pasta All the Time Use the "power of pasta" to introduce more variety in meals and see your child learning to enjoy a more balanced diet without mealtime drama. Imagine this scenario. You found time in your busy day to schedule and prepare a family dinner. You included protein and vegetables to make it balanced, only to see your child piling pasta on his plate... then more pasta... and eating nothing else but pasta! Sound familiar? You are not alone.

Time, we all live on the same clock, 60 mins in an hour, 24 hours to a day, 7 days a week 4 weeks to a month and 12 months to a year. How we use that time changes according to demands on your life, experiences, and time management. Even though we have devices that work for us and that are supposed to make life easier for us, we all still to be fighting the clock. There never it seems to be enough time, yet we should be able to have more time on our hands because of technology. Are we expecting too much of ourselves and not managing our time well enough and not dividing our time where we can dedicate time for us, for work, family and time to give away. https://selfdiscoverymedia.com/2019/09/02/19-36-saras-pearls-of-wisdom-time-use/

5 Minute Mindset: "The 12 Week Year" by Brian Moran and Michael Lennington Here are my notes: -Main point: switch from yearly goals to 12 weeks at a time Because URGENCY and eliminates wasting time The process -Create a compelling vision for your life -Set 12-week goals -Break your 12-week goals into weekly and daily action plans -Schedule weekly review and planning sessions to measure results and stay focused on achieving your vision 8 elements of high performance: 1. Vision: clear mental image of the future 2. Planning: provides clarity and helps you focus on the top priorities and actions needed to achieve the vision. 3. Process control: creating structure that aligns your daily actions with the critical actions in your plan. 4. Measurement: track your progress to make sure that you’re staying consistent with the most important tasks 5. Time Use: focused, uninterrupted time with clear intention is a must 6. Accountability: don’t think about it as negative consequences. Think about the ultimate ownership. Find a friend/group that’s going to hold you to what you say (WAM: weekly accountability meeting) 7. Commitment: do what you said you were gonna do 8. Greatness in the moment: “The results are not the attainment of greatness, but simply confirmation of it.” -1st big takeaway: the purpose of having a clear, compelling future is to keep you moving forward during the dark days Uninformed optimism Informed pessimism Valley of Despair Informed Optimism Success and Fulfillment -2nd big takeaway: Blocking out time Strategic Block (3 hours once per week) Big picture planning, most important activities to move your business/life forward Buffer Block (1-2 per day for 30-60ish min) Administrative work, answering emails, phone calls, “response mode” Breakout Block (1-4x per month for 3 hours) Away from work 100% but during business hours to refresh your mind) ***Most important thing: start setting and implementing 12 week goals

Emerging evidence suggests that the NSW government-school community is increasingly concerned about the workload of its principals. CESE commissioned Deloitte to conduct an independent research study into principal workload and time use. This audio paper looks at some of the key findings: • What tasks do principals spend their time on? • Is the current principal workload achievable and sustainable? • Has there been a change in either the quantity or nature of principals' work in recent years? • Could the leadership or decision-making culture of schools change in any way to help principals manage their workload? Breathing Room: Part 2 - Your Time: Use It Wisely
How we spend our time has long been of interest to researchers around the world. How we can most accurately capture that information is key and of particular interest to survey methodologists. A popular research method since the early 1960s has been the use of Time Use diaries, which have been used to provide new answers to pressing questions about changes in our work and home lives. It's a topic that Professor Jonathan Gershuny, Director of the Centre for Time Use Research at the University of Oxford knows a great deal about, having established the Multinational Time Use Study in the mid-1980s and worked with time use data for many years. Following a presentation by him and some of his research team at the ESRC Research Methods Festival 2016, he spoke to Chris Garrington for the Methods Podcast about Time Use diaries, how they work, what they tell us and how new technology is providing exciting new ways to clock how we spend our days.
