After embracing the "no landing narrative" last year and later unleashing animal spirits after the Presidential election that drove stocks to record levels of euphoria, the national mood has turned substantially more dour.Suddenly, the headlines are filled with fears of recession. The post-COVID higher cost of living and the uncertainty caused by the new Administration's policies has many fearing for their household budgets, their portfolios, and their jobs. Are things really this bad? After all, the economy is still growing, inflation has moderated (mostly), and unemployment remains low. When there are so many crosscurrents as there are today, it's prudent to seek the counsel of those who take. cold and calculated look at the data, to see what "is" vs what our biases may want us to see.Which is why we're fortunate to speak with macro analyst Wolf Richter of WolfStreet.com, who will share with us what the charts he regularly compiles are telling him about the true state of today's economy & markets._____________________________________________ Thoughtful Money LLC is a Registered Investment Advisor Promoter. We produce educational content geared for the individual investor. The war of conflicting narratives continues. Bulls point to Q2's robust GDP growth, still relatively low unemployment, an upside surprise in July retail sales, and record high prices for both stocks and existing homes. Bears on the other hand warn about slowing Q3 estimated GDP growth, the triggering of the Sahm rule recession indicator, this week's massive downward revision in payrolls, rising consumer debt delinquencies and recent surveys reporting that half of American adults have less than $500 in savings. When sentiment is full of such crosscurrents, it's prudent to seek the counsel of those who take. cold and calculated look at the data, to see what "is" vs what our biases may want us to see. It's Tuesday, July 9th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Pro-lifer sentenced to 6 months in prison Pro-life activist Cal Zastrow has been sentenced to a 6-month prison sentence followed by three years of supervised release for singing hymns and praying in front of a door leading into the Carafem abortion mill in 2021 in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, just 17 miles east of Nashville, reports The Christian Post. Zastrow told the judge he has tried to live his life “under the Lordship of Jesus Christ” and that “children are a blessing from God.” He closed with Revelation 5:11-14.  U.S. District Judge Aleta Trauger pointed to Zastrow's religious fervor as the problem in her sentencing. Zastrow was one of six pro-lifers arrested in March 2021. Five other pro-life activists, who blocked a Washington D.C. abortion mill in 2020 have been convicted and sentenced to 2-5 years in prison.  As Zastrow indicated, Psalm 127:3 and 5 indeed affirms that “Children are a heritage from the Lord. The fruit of the womb is a reward. … Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them.” Russian bombs hit within half mile of The Worldview staff in Ukraine Several Ukrainian cities came under major aerial attack on Monday morning. It was the most extensive Russian bombardment of Kiev in several months. Another attack in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih resulted in at least 11 deaths. Both cities were locations of Christian family conferences held over the last few days, sponsored by the Generations and Worldview ministries. The attack consisted of at least forty missiles, one of which hit Ukraine's largest children's hospital in Kiev, reports CNN. The hospital was just half a mile from where The Worldview staff was staying. A total of 37 people were killed in yesterday's bombings, reports ABC News. French Parliament split three ways Political division is growing in France. The French election has split the parliament in three ways, reports Reuters. The  right now holds 142 seats, the center has 150 seats, and the leftist coalition has 178 seats.  Since the 2022 elections, the left grew by 36% and the right by 50% at the expense of the center. Iran elects moderate president Another surprise election result came down to the east of France. This time in the nation of Iran. The more moderate candidate, Masoud Pezeshkian, won the national election by a 16.3 million to 13.5 million vote count. The 69-year-old cardiac surgeon opposes the mandatory hijab or head covering for women, and advocates negotiations with the West on Iran's nuclear program. Real estate values skyrocketing in Europe and U.S. Real estate prices are up in European countries. Since 2010, the largest increases have occurred in Austria, Czech Republic, Portugal, and Germany, reports WolfStreet.com. Amazingly, prices for the average home have at least doubled since 2010. Here in the United States, the average price of a home has increased by 89% since 2010.  Hurricane Beryl slowed to Category 1 Cyclone in Texas Hurricane Beryl made landfall on Monday morning in Texas as a Category 1 cyclone.   Galveston, Houston, and Freeport were hit with 80-90 mph winds and ocean storm surges reached 7 feet at points.  The storm is headed into eastern Oklahoma and Arkansas.   Over a ten-day blitzkreig, the Category 5 hurricane did major damage in Jamaica and parts of Mexico, resulting in ten deaths. Presbyterian Church USA doubles down on perversion Last week, the Presbyterian Church USA doubled down on its affirmation of homosexuality, and its opposition to pastors who take the biblical stance on the subject. The resolution to “guarantee full participation and representation” of homosexuals and individuals attempting to change their gender in its worship and governance passed by a vote of 389 to 24.  John MacArthur: Biden is punishment for abandoning God Pastor John MacArthur told Breitbart News in a recent interview that God has given America up to “sexual immorality, homosexual immorality, and a reprobate mind.”   The pastor said that God has taken His hand of blessing off of this society, and “what you get is Joe Biden.”  MacArthur added, “The train is moving so fast down the direction of having been abandoned by God that unless there's a huge spiritual turnaround, there's no way to stop this.” He urged Christians to uphold righteousness in politics, but “to care a whole lot more about the Gospel.”   Romans 1:28 and 32 declares that “they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness. … who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.” Kansas court struck down ban on second-trimester abortions The State of Kansas is now a go-to state for abortion. Since 2020, the official number of child killings in the state is up 152%. At least 20,000 children lost their lives in Kansas last year by chemical and surgical killings. And, in a 5-1 decision, the Kansas Supreme Court struck down a ban on second-trimester abortions on Friday, reports The Associated Press. The high court argued that the state constitution guarantees total access to abortion. Any legislative restrictions would then be deemed unconstitutional. The only conservative on the court warned that the state is becoming known as “a legal regime of unrestricted access to abortion.” Jewish man shares how he trusted Jesus as Savior As Kevin Swanson travels and speaks abroad, I guest host for him today on Generations Radio. I interview Rich Flashman, a Jewish man who trusted Jesus Christ as Messiah. When he went off to the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, an Evangelical Christian knocked on his dorm room door. FLASHMAN: “I got a knock on my door and I opened the door and a young man says,  'Hi, my name is Paul. I could talk to you about establishing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.” McMANUS: “Woah.” FLASHMAN: “'Well,' I said, ‘I'm sorry, Paul. I'm Jewish.' He goes, ‘That's okay. So was He.'” McMANUS: (laughs) “Did that surprise you?” FLASHMAN: “You know, I knew Jesus was Jewish, you know, but you know, it's just yeah. But I laughed when he said, like you. I invited him in. I invited my Jewish friends from down the hall as well to listen to him. And he shared the gospel sure that Jesus was the Jewish Messiah, He lived a perfect life. He taught on the kingdom of heaven, kingdom of God, that He suffered and died for our sins, and He rose again, and He gives new life to anyone who believes. “So I said, ‘Why do you think that? And he said, ‘It's an historic fact.' And I said, ‘Well, where's your historic data?' He said, ‘The Bible.' I said, ‘Come on, Paul -- oral tradition, human writing, you know, come on.' He goes, ‘No, the Bible is an historical document. Read it.'” Eventually, after reading Isaiah 53, a chapter that most Jews skip over, Flashman became convicted that Jesus was indeed the long-anticipated Messiah. Today, he leads the Manhattan branch of Chosen People Ministries, which has brought the Gospel to Jews for 130 years. Plus, we talked about their June 20th event held in Times Square in the Big Apple about opposing antisemitism, and how Christians can speak up for Israel and our Jewish neighbors. Listen to my 34-minute interview with Rich Flashman, a Jewish believer in Jesus at Generations.org/radio. That's Generations.org/radio. Republicans waters down their platform on abortion & marriage And finally, the Trump campaign has announced the Republican platform national committee has softened language on abortion and homosexual faux marriage, reports The Washington Stand as well as NBC News. The updated platform, entitled “America First: A Return to Common Sense,” will no longer define marriage as between “one man and one woman.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, July 9th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Print story 100 people shot in Chicago over 4th of July weekend The city of Chicago turned into a war zone of sorts over the Fourth of July weekend.  Tragically, 100 people were shot, resulting in 17 deaths, reports Breitbart. That's up 27% over the previous year.  Chicago, like all of Illinois, has a 72-hour waiting period on gun purchases, a red flag law, an “assault weapons” ban, a “high capacity” magazine ban, and a Firearm Owners Identification card requirement.

It's Tuesday, July 2nd, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes and heard at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson and Adam McManus Namibia, Africa decriminalizes homosexual behavior Last week, the high court of the Southern African nation of Namibia struck down a colonial law banning homosexual behavior in the country.   Last year, the same court legitimized homosexual faux marriage for a bi-national couple.   Homosexual behavior is criminalized in 30 African countries, and allowed in 24 countries now. Supreme Court: Trump has limited immunity from prosecution The U.S. Supreme Court ruled yesterday in favor of the former President, in relation to his post-election activities on January 6th, 2021, reports LifeSiteNews.com. By a vote of 6 to 3, the high court granted Donald Trump immunity for official acts taken in his role as president of the United States. The majority on the court agreed with Trump's appeal. The decision, written by Chief Justice John Roberts, concluded that: “The President is not above the law. But under our system of separated powers, the President may not be prosecuted for exercising his core constitutional powers, and he is entitled to at least presumptive immunity from prosecution for his official acts.” What remains to be answered is which actions taken after the 2020 election by the president were official and which were unofficial. This question is remanded to the lower courts. House Speaker Mike Johnson called the decision “a victory for former President Trump.” And the Biden campaign said the decision has handed Trump "the keys to a dictatorship," reports the New York Post. Supreme Court deals blow to regulation stranglehold   In other Supreme Court news, the high court has rendered the regulatory bureaucracy a serious setback in the United States.   Friday's decision overturned the 1984 decision Chevron U.S.A. Inc. v. Natural Resources Defense Council Inc., — which to this point had allowed federal bureaucracies extensive latitude for interpreting law and implementing regulations. Poll: Donald – 44%, Biden – 41% The latest Non-Partisan Patriot Polling puts Donald Trump ahead of Joe Biden in the presidential race,  44% to 41%. The current president's rating has also dropped off from 33% to 29%. And 76% of prospective voters polled say Donald Trump won last Thursday's debate. Colonel Macgregor: Biden's cognitive decline means US gov't is in "unelected hands" Speaking of that debate, Retired U.S. Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor has said that “the governing power” of the U.S. lies “in unelected hands” after the first presidential debate highlighting President Joe Biden's cognitive decline to the whole world, reports LifeSiteNews.com. In a 5-minute video message published on the YouTube channel Our Country Our Choice, Col. MacGregor expressed his profound concern for the United States after Biden's catastrophic performance. Listen. MacGREGOR: “President Biden is not fit to discharge the immense duties of the presidency. The alarming evidence of his cognitive decline was on display for all to witness. Yet his enablers and political allies continue to exploit the president to substitute their destructive agenda for the interests of the American people. “The unconscionable betrayal of the sacred trust that must exist between the federal government and American citizens is all around us. Destructive executive orders and policy directives, many of which were likely signed when President Biden was in a rapidly diminished state of mind, inflicting tremendous damage on our nation. “Sadly, President Biden's fragile mental state was laid bare for all to see in last night's debate. His responses were frequently incoherent, he appeared lost even confused, struggling to complete basic thoughts. It was heartbreaking, a spectacle that confirmed our worst fears about his deteriorating capacity.” Col. MacGregor questioned the legitimacy of Biden's executive orders in light of his demonstrable mental incapacity. MacGREGOR: “No individual whose mental health is compromised, should be allowed to continue in the most demanding job on Earth. Americans, we find ourselves at a critical juncture in our nation's journey. In the private sector or in matters of estate planning, the validity of signatures made under such circumstances would be challenged and invalidated in a court of law. “How can we accept crucial national decisions being made under these conditions? The American people deserve better. It is time to ask, ‘Who truly governs this country?' Is it ‘we the people,' as our Founders intended, or have we surrendered control to unelected bureaucrats?” Trump ally Steve Bannon went to jail yesterday Longtime Trump ally Steve Bannon was taken into custody yesterday after surrendering at a federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut. He began his four-month prison sentence on contempt charges for defying a subpoena in the congressional investigation into the events on January 6, 2021 at the U.S. Capitol, reports the Associated Press. Speaking to reporters, Bannon called himself a “political prisoner.” BANNON: “I'm a political prisoner of Nancy Pelosi. I'm a political prisoner of Merrick Garland. I'm a political prisoner of Joe Biden, the corrupt Biden establishment. “You saw on Thursday, all the lies that they told any group that would sit there and lie to you about the shape of the President of the United States, with the national security element of that, lied about the 2020 election. They've lied about COVID. They've lied about everything that they've done to the American people and they're not going to stop. Until we stop them, they're not going to stop.”  Court injunction allows Good News Clubs into Hawaiian schools Here's some good news for the Good News Clubs sponsored by Child Evangelism Fellowship! Since 2022, Hawaii's Department of Education had denied every single request for access Hawaii's primary schools by the Christian Good News Clubs. Liberty Counsel has obtained a court injunction to open access to the Good News clubs in Hawaii, and provide “timely responses to future applications.” In Mark 16:15, Jesus said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the Good News to every creature.” Criminal illegal immigrants entry to America has quadrupled Criminals entering the borders of the United States have quadrupled since 2019 — in just five years. These are people that had already been convicted of one or more crimes prior to entering America. The official Customs and Border Protection numbers clocked 4,300 arrests in 2019. By contrast, this year that number is approaching 17,000 or an average of 1,459 per month. Banks welcome gold back as a hedge in an uncertain economy Interest in gold as a safe hedge is back, at least for the world banks. For fifty years, between 1960 and 2010, the world banks shed their gold reserves, dropping from 1.23 billion ounces to 960 million ounces. Now, for the last 14 years, the banks have been buying back gold.  There is now 1.15 billion ounces of gold representing about 2.7% of the Gross World Product, reports WolfStreet.com. New Mexico's surgical abortions have tripled Since 2020, the number of abortions performed in New Mexico has tripled.   Most of that is due to women from Texas seeking abortions across the border.  Now, 71% of New Mexican abortions are out-of-state abortions, reports Abortion Free New Mexico. The Word of God is firm on this: “You shall not murder.” (Exodus 20:13) 14 Worldview listeners gave a final $9,600 And finally, between some checks that just arrived in the mail at our P.O. It's Tuesday, June 18th, A.D. 2024,. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Muslim-majority Türkiye kicks out 9 Christian missionaries Türkiye's highest court ruled in a 7-6 close vote to support the government's expulsion of nine foreign Christians for alleged missionary activities.  It is a Muslim-majority country. Kelsey Zorzi, Alliance Defending Freedom International's Director of Advocacy for Global Religious Freedom, has stated that this is one more indication that “Türkiye is systematically trying to extinguish Christian beliefs inside its borders.” Shockingly, 185 foreign missionaries have been expelled from the country since 2018. The nine individuals in this case now have the opportunity to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights. Jesus said, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.” (John 15:18) The foul diatribes of Covenant School massacre shooter Officials have released a stream of documents including journal entries produced by the person responsible for the Covenant School massacre in Nashville, Tennessee. The foul diatribes mainly concern the perpetrator's frustration with her God-given female gender, and her parents' preference for a “conservative” Christian faith. The animus expressed in her extensive handwritten entries have provided insight into the motives involved with six murders of teachers and children at the school on March 27, 2023.  (Link provided near the bottom of this transcript) El Salvadoran president turned to God in prayer Conservative talk show host Tucker Carlson recently interviewed the newly re-elected president of El Salvador on his outstanding victory, and his unprecedented rooting out of a strong criminal element from his country.   Nayib Bukele explained that ,upon his first election, the murder rate in El Salvador was three times greater than Haiti. Plus, his country was the murder capital of the world.   He pointed out the impossibility of rooting out 70,000 gang members who were intertwined with the population. Listen to this soundbite from Carlson's interview. BUKELE: “I basically said we're looking into an impossible mission here. So we prayed.” CARLSON: “You prayed in the meeting?” BUKELE: “Yes, yes, of course, several times. Yeah.” CARLSON: “What did you pray for?” BUKELE: “Wisdom, to win the war. I thought at the time that we will have civilian casualties. So, we prayed that the civilian casualties will be as low as possible. And we didn't have any civilian casualties.” CARLSON: “Was everyone in the meeting comfortable with that?” BUKELE: “Yes, yes. All my security cabinet are believers. They all believe in God. We're a secular country, of course. But we all believe in God.” CARLSON: “MS-13 is one of the major gangs…” BUKELE: “and they are Satanic also.” CARLSON: “That was my question. So, I hope you will explain it because very little has been written in the West about this.” BUKELE:  “They're Satanic, yes” CARLSON: “But actually, literally. Can you explain?” BUKELE: “Well, they didn't start it as a satanic organization. MS-13 started in Los Angeles, in the US, because Salvadorans were not allowed to sell drugs by the Mexican gangs. So, they created a gang that was called 18th street gangs.” In the same interview, Bukele later acknowledged that their victory over the criminals had to do with winning the “spiritual war” against “Satanic” forces, some of which were involved in conducting human sacrifices. Bukele plans to address the economic problems of the nation during his second term. He said the first part of his plan is to “seek God's wisdom” to which Tucker Carlson noted, “I have never heard any leader of any country say that.” Bukele was re-elected with 85% of the vote in February of this year.  Proverbs 15:33 reminds us that “The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.” SCOTUS disregarded FDA's own stat: 1 in 25 mothers go to ER As The Worldview reported on Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously approved the Abortion Kill Pill by mail last Thursday. At issue was the relaxing of rules relating to the administration of Mifepristone in the killing of an unborn child.   Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote in the opinion that “the plaintiffs have failed to demonstrate that the FDA's relaxed regulatory requirements likely would cause them to suffer injury.” Attorney Erin Hawley with Alliance Defending Freedom, which represented the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, said, “Nothing in today's decision changes the fact that the FDA's own label says that roughly one in 25 women who take chemical abortion drugs will end up in the emergency room.”   The life of the child was not considered in the case. Nasdaq up 18%; Russell 2000 down 20% in value The Nasdaq composite index has improved 18% since the beginning of the year.  However, the Russell 2000 Index, representing the smaller companies on the market, has lost 1% over the last six months, reports WolfStreet.com. The Russell 2000 index has seen zero improvement in three and a half years.   Adjusted for inflation, this would account for a 20% loss in value. Exactly six companies, or 1% of America's largest public companies, represent 33% of the value of the entire S&P 500 index — Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta, and Amazon. Surgeon General calling for mental health warnings for social media The U.S. Surgeon General is calling for mental health warnings on all social media platforms. In a recent opinion piece in the NY Times, Vivek Murthy argued social media companies should be required to display mental health warnings about the use of their platforms.   With the average daily use at 4.8 hours for adolescents, Murthy is calling for legislation to “shield young people from online harassment, abuse and exploitation and from exposure to extreme violence and sexual content that too often appears in algorithm-driven feeds.” And restricting “the use of features like push notifications, autoplay and infinite scroll, which prey on developing brains and contribute to excessive use.” Alabama Worldview listener grateful for making “Christ the center” Wyatt Nicaud in Summerdale, Alabama wrote me at Adam@TheWorldview.com. He said, “I am so appreciative of the Biblical worldview that is instituted in every broadcast. Making Christ the center of everything, including our news, is of the utmost importance.” 13 Worldview listeners donated $3,305.16 Toward our $63,000 goal by this Saturday, June 22nd, 13 Worldview listeners have stepped up to the plate. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nigerian Muslim kidnappers are increasingly bold International Christian Concern reminds us this morning that 91 young women, who were kidnapped exactly ten years ago from their schools in Chibok in northeastern Nigeria, are still held in captivity.  Islamic terrorists kidnapped 276 teenage girls a decade ago, many of whom were forced to marry their abductors. That wasn't the end of the persecutions however. Just last month, Boko Horam terrorists kidnapped another 400 persons from a Borno State refugee camp, and another 287 students and teachers were abducted from a school in Kaduna State, reports Voice of America. Nigeria, Africa is the sixth most dangerous country worldwide in which to be a Christian. Knife attacks in Australia Gun ownership in Australia is severely restricted by government licensing, but that hasn't stopped knife attacks in that nation. Six people were killed and 11 wounded by a knife attack in a mall last week. In addition, just yesterday, a pastor and four church members were stabbed during a Bible study at Good Shepherd Church in Sydney.  Iraq considers death penalty for adultery and perversion The Iraqi parliament is considering a bill requiring life in prison or the death penalty for certain types of adultery or homosexual activity, reports U.S. News and World Report. The nations of Israel and Iraq have the loosest laws of all Middle Eastern countries concerning homosexuality.  Israel legalized homosexuality in 1988, and recognizes homosexual faux marriage performed in other countries. At least officially, homosexual activity was legalized in Iraq in 1969. Homosexuality has been legalized by most Protestant and Catholic nations in Europe, North and South America, and Oceania which includes Australia. Scripture in 1 Timothy 1:8-10 points out that “the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers.” Trump in court over hush money payments Former President and 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is back in state court, defending himself from 34 charges of falsifying business records, in relation to alleged hush money payments made before the 2016 election. The payments allegedly went to a film star who is known for promulgating violations of the seventh commandment.   Trump has pleaded not guilty to charges and denies the accusations concerning the adulterous affair. Top 10 busiest airports Airports Council International just released the list of the busiest 10 airports in the world for last year. These are, in order, from 1 to 10. 1. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Dubai International Airport Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport London Heathrow Tokyo Haneda International Airport Denver International Airport Istanbul Airport Los Angeles International Airport Chicago O'Hare International Airport, and New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.  Atlanta's International Airport accommodated almost 105,000,000 passengers last year. TSA intercepted 1,503 guns since January The U.S. Transportation and Safety Administration has announced that officers intercepted 1,503 guns at airport security check points  in the first three months of the year — or about 500 per month. Last year, a record 6,737 guns were intercepted — 93% of which were loaded weapons. Gold, silver, Bitcoin and NASDAQ all up Gold hit $2,390 yesterday, and silver scraped $29.00 an ounce.  Over the last six weeks, gold and silver are up about 25%. Bitcoin has better than doubled in price, and the NASDAQ Composite Index is up about 19%. Inflation up again   Inflation here in the U.S. is back up around 6% — with core services in the Consumer Price Index scraping the 6.8% territory in March. Rent hit a 5.04% inflation rate in March. Motor vehicle maintenance inflation rate reached 8.2%, motor vehicle insurance up 22%,  and overall Consumer Price Index popped up to 4.6%, reports WolfStreet.com. The Producer Price Index saw a 6.2% annualized increase in March. That's almost back up to 2022 levels, after the Federal Reserve made a half-hearted attempt to bring inflation down by increasing benchmark lending rates. Tesla laying off 10% of workforce Tesla has announced they will be laying off 10% of its workforce, or 14,000 employees, reports Electrek.com. Americans not getting enough sleep Americans are stressed out.   A whopping 57% of Americans say they are not getting enough sleep.  And only 36% of women say they are happy with the sleep they get. That's down from 52% in 2013, according to surveys from Gallup. Psalm 127:1-2 reminds us that unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Tuesday, April 16th in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nigerian Christian students ostracized at two universities After Nigerian Christians have faced years of persecution at the hands of Muslim extremists, now this. Alliance Defending Freedom International reports that two public universities in Katsina State, one state and one federal, have placed bans on the use of their facilities for Christian religious activities.  Lawsuits have been filed under provisions provided by the nation's constitution which allows religious freedoms. One of the universities enforced the ban by locking all worship and fellowship centers on university grounds, preventing Christian students and groups from accessing the facilities, and banning them from meeting for worship and fellowship elsewhere on campus. Meanwhile, Muslim student groups at both universities have been permitted to hold worship and fellowship meetings in university-constructed worship and meeting spaces. Both universities have relatively high percentages of Christian students and faculty despite Katsina being a Muslim-majority state. Nigeria is the sixth most difficult country worldwide to be a Christian. Nigerian pastor acquitted of helping runaway Muslim girl Thankfully, there is some good news in Nigeria. After languishing in a Nigerian jail for three years, Pastor Jonah Gangas and his wife, Josephine Gangas, were finally acquitted of wrongdoing after taking in and educating a young Nigerian girl. The couple took in a runaway 12-year-old Muslim girl at the request of the local police, but later was prosecuted by a local Islamic group.   Nigeria's crippling 30% inflation Persecuting Christians isn't helping the economic crisis in Nigeria. The nation is dealing with 30% inflation.  Prices for food staples like rice and bread have doubled in a year.  Nigeria's per capita Gross Domestic Product topped out at $3,200 in 2014, after which the nation began electing Muslim presidents.  The per capita GDP has since dropped off to $2,200.  Minnesota eager to persecute Christian ministries The State of Minnesota is on the warpath to persecute Christian ministries operating within the state lines.   The Minnesota state government turned over to complete Democrat control as of 2022. AlphaNews.com reports that a Senate committee voted down an amendment last week that would have protected religious institutions against claims of “gender identity discrimination.”   The Minnesota Human Rights Act now requires Christian schools and religious organizations not to discriminate against men, pretending to be women, in their hiring practices. Listen to this warning from Isaiah chapter 5, verses 18 and 20. “Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, who draw sin as with cart ropes. … Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” Chemical abortions account for 63% of all U.S. abortions Over the last eight years, the Food and Drug Administration has removed “safety standards” for the use of drugs used for the intentional killing of pre-born children in this country.  This has enabled mail-order abortions, now available through Telehealth, in all 50 states.    These chemical abortions make up 63% of all abortions, and Telehealth accounts for 16% of all abortions. Also, according to reports assembled by MotherJones.com, 90% of these Telehealth abortions occur in states where abortions are banned or severely restricted. This amounts to at least 200,000 extra abortions for the top three providers. Colorado abortion providers are reporting 6,000 out-of-state abortions per year by Telehealth. Supreme Court hears Abortion Kill Pill case Today, the U.S. Supreme Court will be hearing arguments on a case filed by four national medical associations, their members, and four individual doctors against the FDA for unlawfully removing the “safety standards” over the Abortion Kill Pill. Pro-lifers are watching this highly significant case. Last week, The Worldview reported that the number of abortions is up 10% since 2020. The significant increase is due to the ease of access to the chemical abortion pill in all fifty states.  Man charged with double murder including pregnant mother and baby In a related story, a New Hampshire man is charged with a double murder, as the suspect in the killing of a pregnant woman and her pre-born child. The charge noted that the crime occurred "under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life.” William Kelly, age 38, has been indicted by the Carroll County Grand Jury in connection with the deaths of Christine Falzone and her pre-born child. This represents the first prosecution of the state's fetal homicide bill since it was passed in 2018. Leviticus 24:17 presents God's law on murder: “Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death.” Median price of new homes fell 19% The median price of a new home in the United States fell 19% from its 2023 high, reports WolfStreet.com. The price difference between the median new home price and the median used home price is also the lowest since 2007 — just before the last great recession. $1.2 trillion funding bill passes, but bans homosexual embassy flags President Joe Biden got about everything he wanted in the $1.2 trillion government funding package passed over the weekend, except for one thing.   The Republicans attached a provision that banned the flying of LGBTQ Pride flags above U.S. embassies around the world. America's deficit heading to $2 trillion And finally, based on Bipartisan Policy's Deficit Tracker's numbers, the 2024 deficit is heading towards $2 trillion this year. That's up from $1.7 trillion last fiscal year, and $1.38 trillion the year before. To compare, the average annual deficit under Barack Obama's administration was $817 billion. In addition, 11 Montagnard Christians, who were arrested in November, were kept in prison over Christmas — at an Immigration Detention Centre.  Japanese earthquake An earthquake registering 7.6 on the Richter scale hit the west coast of Japan's big island of Honshu on New Year's Day, reports CBS News. After homes collapsed and officials issued tsunami warnings, coastal residents headed for higher ground. Six people were killed That's the most powerful earthquake that has hit Japan since 2015.  Japan is usually in the top six nations experiencing the most earthquakes each year.  Indonesia and Mexico are usually #1 and #2 on the list.  Why Ohio GOP Governor vetoed anti-transgender bill Conservatives in America are grappling with why Ohio's Republican Governor Mike DeWine vetoed a bill that would have disallowed puberty blockers for children, and banning boys, pretending to be girls, from playing on girls sports teams in public schools. According to the Federalist Papers, it turns out Governor DeWine received $40,300 from the Ohio Children's Hospital Association, Cincinnati Children's, Nationwide Children's Hospital, and ProMedica Children's Hospital for his election campaign. The president of Ohio Children's Hospital Association, Nick Lashutka, had testified against the Republican bill in the House, the bill which the Governor subsequently vetoed. The NASDAQ stock index has hit an all-time high, closing Friday at 16,826. That's up from 1,204 in 2009, a 14-fold increase.   The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed for the year 2023 at 37,690,  up from 7,060 in 2009. That's a 5-fold increase. Meanwhile, almost every other stock market in the world hasn't come close to these valuations.   WolfStreet.com reports that the Chinese Shanghai composite is still where it was in 2009. Japan's Nikkei is leveled off where the index stood in 1989. The UK FTSE Index is up about 50% since 2009. Spain's IBEX index is still where it was sitting in 2009. Canada's Index is up about 40% from 2008. Economist predicts 2024 “biggest single crash year in our lifetimes” Is the American industry really doing 20 to 100 times better than England, China, and Japan?  U.S. economist Harry Dent  told Fox Business: “Since 2009, this has been a 100% artificial [economy], with unprecedented money printing and deficits; $27 trillion over 15 years, to be exact. … We're in a dangerous state. 2024 is going to be the biggest single crash year we'll see in our lifetimes." The economist forecasts an 86% crash in the S&P, a 92% crash in the NASDAQ, 96% for crypto, and significant deflation on housing prices. But Jesus said, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” (Luke 12:15)  Our Savior also said, “Lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21) Taylor Swift: Time's Person of the Year A pop music star turned out to be Time Magazine's Person of the Year for 2023. Taylor Swift is the latest goddess of pop culture. Her 131-date “Eras” world tour is on track to be the highest-grossing concert tour of all time — estimated to top $1.4 billion. Shockingly, the police never showed up. One resident told International Christian Concern, “We lost hope in the Nigerian Police.” Artificial Intelligence will lead to more persecution of Christians Artificial Intelligence is a rising concern for the persecuted church. Pastor Mao Zhibin is warning Chinese Christians that “with the data collected from WeChat and hundreds of millions of surveillance cameras which are processed with artificial intelligence algorithms, the power is way beyond any other totalitarian regime.” China recently banned its citizens on WeChat from using religious words, including “Christ.” Unbelievably, a baptism video posted on the platform recently led to a Chinese pastor's arrest.  Global Christian Relief lists five ways Artificial Intelligence could be used to persecute Christians. Surveillance and facial recognition. Censorship and content filtering. Deepfakes -- or digitally manipulating one person's likeness with another -- to create fabricated events or speeches. Predictive policing to anticipate crimes before they occur. Highly unregulated, autonomous weapons designed to kill innocent people.  King Charles' polytheistic ceremony this Saturday Now that a minority of those in Great Britain call themselves Christians, the coronation ceremony for King Charles this coming Saturday, May 6th, is adapting.   All major religions will be recognized in a more polytheistic ceremony. Archbishop Justin Welby issued a statement noting that, “The service contains new elements that reflect the diversity of our contemporary society.” Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh leaders will participate.   Yet, according to the official coronation oath, Charles will vow to “maintain the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel. … And do the utmost in his power to maintain in the United Kingdom the Protestant Reformed Religion established by law.”  Biden wants to penalize good creditors and reward bad ones The Biden administration has released new rules on home mortgages intended to punish families with good credit scores, and offering better mortgage rates to people with worse credit scores. In a letter to the White House, state treasurers from 27 states have weighed in on the policy, calling out the plan as a “disaster. It amounts to a middle-class tax hike that will unfairly cost American families millions upon millions of dollars. And – at a time when the real estate market has already slowed considerably due to high interest rates – it will further depress home sales." The National Association of Realtors has also come out against the new rules.  Since 2008, the federal government has issued these LLPA fees to help offset the risks borne by Fannie and Freddie Mac, the federal government's mortgage institutions, under the rubric of the Federal Housing Finance Agency. The fee is often hidden, as lenders will adjust the mortgage interest rates to include the fee. Leviticus 19:15 warns government officials: “You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great.” And Exodus 30:15 says, “The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less.” Coca-Cola shareholders resoundingly voted down Woke resolution Last week, the shareholders for Coca-Cola voted down a resolution advocating divestiture from pro-life states — get this — by a vote of 87% to 13%, reports World Magazine. By contrast, it seems that the boardrooms of America's corporations have already gone Woke.   A full 75% of the largest 15 companies in the U.S. have a 100% perfect score on the Homosexual Human Rights Campaign Woke survey. And two-thirds of the nation's 500 largest companies provide transgender-inclusive health insurance, up from 3% just 13 years ago.  First Republic Bank goes belly up First Republic Bank became the third big bank failure for the year yesterday. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation took control of it, dismembered it, and then handed what was left to JP Morgan Chase Bank, reports WolfStreet.com. That included $173 billion in loans, $30 billion in securities, and JP Morgan gets the $92 billion in deposits. Thus far, the three bank failures this year add up to about $540 billion in total assets. That compares to about $420 billion in bank failures in the 2008-2009 timeframe. The First Republic Bank failure will cost taxpayers another $13 billion, according to FDIC estimates.  Japan warms up to Abortion Kill Pill as fertility has plummeted And finally, Japan is moving towards approving the mifepristone Abortion Kill Pill.   A panel from Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare voted to approve the kill pill last month, allowing women to kill their pre-born babies up to the ninth week of gestation. Japan's fertility rate has dropped to 1.3 per woman. The countries with the lowest birth rates in the world, by use of conception control, abortifacients, and abortion, are Puerto Rico, Portugal, Spain, Bulgaria, Greece, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea which is at a shocking .79. U.S. officials say there are 16,000 American citizens in country. As The Worldview reported last Thursday, this comes in the wake of heavy fighting between various military factions on the streets of Khartoum. Here's what has happened in Sudan.   In 2019, two military generals joined forces to oust Sudanese President Omar al-Bashira, whose dictatorship began in 1993. After a short bout with “democracy,” factions belonging to General Abdel-Fattah Burhan and General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo can't seem to get along with each other. They have resorted to killing each other in the streets.   Fox News abruptly fired Tucker Carlson Despite his position as the top-rated program on Fox News, conservative news guy, Tucker Carlson, is gone as of yesterday, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Some analysts have connected the parting with the recent Fox News' out-of-court settlement of $800 million to the benefit of Dominion Voting Systems. Some of Fox News' commentators had questioned the integrity of the votes cast in the 2020 presidential election. Among his more controversial comments, Carlson recently referred to the transgender movement as  “The natural enemy of Christianity.” He defended a congregation in Idaho, members of whom were arrested for singing hymns outdoors.   In September 2021, Carlson noted that “What's dying is the faith that created Western civilization – Christianity. In its place is a new creed, and like all religions, it has its own sacraments, its own sacred texts. It's the cult of coronavirus.” Time Magazine referred to Carlson as “the most powerful conservative in 2021.”   Tucker joins the list of other dismissals with a conservative edge, including Bill O'Reilly, Dan Bongino, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and Todd Starnes.   Of the regular well-known conservative voices dominating the airwaves over the last 20 years, Sean Hannity remains with Fox.  Donald Trump honored Pastor Charles Stanley Donald Trump was among the folks paying respect at the memorial service for Pastor Charles Stanley in Atlanta, Georgia.   The former president reminisced on the pastor's “incredible kindness and humble spirit when he met with me in the Oval Office. As he prayed for me and the nation, I knew God was hearing that prayer.” Also attending the service were Pastors Tony Evans, Chuck Swindoll, and Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Dallas as well as Christian evangelist Franklin Graham.  You can watch a video of the service, which also featured the songs of Greater Vision, through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. FBI yet to release transgender's manifesto in Christian school rampage The FBI is dragging its heels on releasing a manifesto and assorted documents left by the Nashville Covenant School mass murderer who was a female pretending to be a male. The New York Post quotes Metro Nashville Council Member Courtney Johnston that the document is a "blueprint on total destruction” and she said the document “in the wrong person's hands would be astronomically dangerous.” From Audrey Hale's home, officials have seized “twenty journals, five laptops, suicide notes, two memoirs, five Covenant School yearbooks, and seven cellphones.” As the world searches for a motive, Romans 1 explains, “Even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, and … murder.” House prices have fallen again Based on March prices, median prices of homes sold in the U.S. have fallen twice, year-over-year, representing the first fall in home prices since 2012, reports WolfStreet. Sales are down 22% year-over-year. The worst sales drops are happening in Western states — 31% down from last year.  Bed Bath and Beyond filed bankruptcy Bed Bath and Beyond filed bankruptcy on Sunday. Wolf Street points out that the company wasted $11.6 billion of investment cash on buybacks on their own stocks.  Companies that have engaged in stock buybacks this year, as a last ditch effort to prop up their company values, include Chevron, Salesforce, UPS, Discover Financial Services, and Agilent Technologies. Big stock buybacks for 2022 included Apple at $90 billion, Morgan Stanley and Walmart at $20 billion each as well as Nike, Cisco, Home Depot, Visa, and Exxon-Mobil. Inflation is crippling And finally, in economic news, inflation is killing American savings. The Personal Finance Index of George Washington University's Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center found that a quarter of Americans have cut their retirement savings and 12% totally quit saving last year. Now, 30% are finding it tough to make ends meet, up from 24% in 2021. And 39% of Americans do not have enough savings to cover a month of expenses — up from 32% in 2021.  Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 6:19. “Lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”  Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Tuesday, April 25th  in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Chinese Commies have closed/demolished 48 churches in last 4 years International Christian Concern has issued their annual report on the Chinese Communist government's persecution of churches.    A total of 48 churches have been closed or demolished between 2019 and 2022. Plus, the Communists have arrested 89 church leaders, 13 of which occurred in the first six months of 2022. Pray for faith in the fire for our Chinese brothers and sisters. Trump wins CPAC 2023 poll Former President Donald Trump won the CPAC poll again on Saturday as the favored Republican candidate for the 2024 U.S. presidential race — this time with 62% of the vote.  Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came in second place with 20%.   Trump laid out his vision. TRUMP: “In 2016, I declared, ‘I am your voice.' Today, I add, I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution.” His talk included promises to do something about drugs and illegal immigration. Recent YouGov polls still have Donald Trump well above DeSantis and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley by an average of 18-20%.   Should Trump win the 2024 election, he would be the only president since Grover Cleveland to serve two non-consecutive terms.  Pompeo: Adding trillions of dollars in debt is “deeply un-conservative” Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who served under President Trump, spoke at the CPAC gathering, calling the addition of trillions of dollars by both Democrats and Republicans as “deeply un-conservative.” POMPEO: “You know, I stared today at $31 trillion in debt and tell my son, ‘Make sure you work hard because Social Security may just not be there for you.' “Every recent administration, Republican and Democrat alike, added trillions in dollars to our debt. That is deeply un-conservative. The Trump administration, the administration I served,  added $8 trillion in new debt. “This is indecent and can't continue earning back that trust will be hard work. It won't just be a campaign speech. It won't just be talking about it. We need demonstrated seriousness, people who will explain to the American people, and to their kids and grandkids, why this matters. “These will require tough choices, difficult choices, but the risks required are worthy.” Secretary Pompeo also challenged conservative voters not to settle when choosing the next president. POMPEO: “Over the last few years, I've heard some, who claim to be conservative, excuse hypocrisy by saying something like, ‘Well, we're electing a president, not a Sunday school teacher.'  That's true, but having taught Sunday school, maybe we could get both!” Second housing bust of millennium The second housing bust of the millennium looks like it is worse than the first, so far.   Wolfstreet reports that San Francisco Bay Area housing median prices have plunged by 35% in 10 months.  That compares to a 21% plunge over the same time period in 2008.   And the average 30-year mortgage rate is 7.08%, up from 6.36% in early February.  Obesity is number one threat to human health Obesity is the greatest threat to human health, impacting longevity worldwide. The newly released World Obesity Atlas 2023 suggests that more than half the world will be obese or overweight by 2035.  This will cost the world about $4.32 trillion in increased medical costs or about 3% of the Gross World Product.   At present trends, childhood obesity is expected to double with boys and more than double with girls leading to a total of 1.5 billion adults and nearly 400 million children who will be obese. That's up from 650 million obese as of 2016. Among the larger nations, the most obese nations in the world are Kuwait, United States, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Turkey, Egypt, Bahamas, New Zealand, and Iraq.  COVID dropped life expectancy Life expectancy has dropped worldwide — the only significant dip since the Chinese famines of 1959. The numbers indicate equal drops in 2020 and 2021, equating to about one year,  Anarchists attack Atlanta Police training facility Sunday's anarchical attack on an Atlanta Police training facility, derisively referred to as “Cop City,”  resulted in 35 arrests, reports Reuters.   The coordinated attack on the police apparently included people from France and Canada.  Steven Curtis Chapman's 50th #1 song Steven Curtis Chapman chalked up his 50th number one song on the Contemporary Christian Music charts with his latest single “Don't Lose Heart,” reports BMI.   Don't lose heart Don't you dare let go I've been where you are You are not alone I know it gets dark I know it gets hard But we're gonna make it home (we're gonna make it home) So don't lose heart "Don't Lose Heart” is a cut from Chapman's 2022 album entitled Still which is themed on the struggles the family faced upon the loss of Chapman's 5-year-old daughter, Maria Sue, in 2008.  The only musicians that captured this accomplishment in other genres include Conway Twitty and George Strait, on the country charts, and Madonna on the pop charts. Raquel Welch, an active churchgoer in last 20 years, died at 82 And finally, actress Raquel Welch died several weeks ago at 82 years of age. For about 20 years, Welch was a faithful member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Glendale, California, a part of the Presbyterian Church in America denomination. According to a tribute to Welch's life and testimony, written by Christopher and Denada Neiswonger, she was “a wonderful lady and a fine Christian. She fully embraced the Reformed and Presbyterian faith as described in the Westminster standards." In her autobiography, written in 2010, Welch described how she found a small church “on the way to Pasadena, where the pastor and congregation were very devout and really knew their Scripture. I had come there because I'd heard the pastor speak on the radio.”   Considered the “definitive sex symbol of the 1960s and 1970s,” her life was dotted with divorces until 2003. We'll close with John 4:16-18, 25-26 today with the woman at the well. [Jesus] told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.” “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband.  The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.” The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When He comes, He will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am He.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, March 7th, in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Open Doors reported a 24% increase in martyrdoms, year over year, for 2021, topping 6,000 martyrs. This is an increase from 2,983 martyrs in 2019 and 1,201 martyrs in 2012. Christians in 55 nations are receiving a high level of persecution. If your church plans to participate through some of the suggested activities, please email me at Adam@TheWorldview.com to let us know what your church plans to do. Evangelical leaders getting cancelled And now this. The July/August Evangelical Leaders Survey, conducted by the National Association of Evangelicals, found that almost half of Evangelical leaders have been disinvited, blacklisted, or excluded because of their biblically-oriented positions. As just one example, Daniel Henderson, president of Strategic Renewal, told the National Association of Evangelicals, “I served as the primary speaker for an annual event for about nine years at a major Christian university. Although my ministry remained consistent — and my views had not changed at all — my relationship with people outside their doctrinal distinctives caused me to be disinvited.” Biden, a proponent of fate, has not decided to run in 2024 President Joe Biden told 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley he's a believer in “Fate,” and has yet to decide whether he will run in 2024 for re-election. PELLEY: “Sir, are you committed to running again? Or are there certain conditions that have to be right?” BIDEN: “No look, if I were to say to you, I'm running again, all of a sudden a whole range of things come into play that I have --  requirements, I have to change and move and do.” PELLEY: “In terms of election laws.” BIDEN: “In terms of election laws. And it's much too early to make that kind of decision. I'm a great respecter of fate. And so, what I'm doing is I'm doing my job. We're going to do that job. Within the timeframe that make sense, after this next election cycle here, going into next year and making a judgment on what to do.” PELLEY: “You say that it's much too early to make that decision. I take it the decision has not been made in your own head.” BIDEN: “Look, my intention, as I said to begin with, is that I would run again. But it's just an intention. But is it a firm decision that I run again? That remains to be seen.” Meanwhile, a recent Harvard CAPS/Harris poll, shared exclusively with The Hill, found that 67% of Americans oppose a possible Biden re-election bid, and 57% oppose Donald Trump running in 2024. But Daniel 2:20-21 does not attribute any of this to fate. Listen. “Daniel answered and said: ‘Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings.'” California real estate's nosedive California's real estate market is taking a major hit, reports WolfStreet.com. San Francisco's bubble has burst with a 21% decline on peak prices.  And San Diego County is 9% off peak. U.S. retail sales up 9% But U.S. retail sales are still way up, by an astounding 9.1%, year over year, and 31.1% over August of 2019. Surging credit card debt Meanwhile, credit card debt surged by 14%. That's the largest surge in credit card debt since 1999.  Wallet Hub released the states with the highest average credit card debt. They include Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. Bitcoin bust Bitcoin is back down to $19,000 and change. That's a $3,000 drop over the week. California's invitation for mothers in pro-life states to kill their babies Disturbing news from the Golden State. California is funding pro-abortion billboards in pro-life states, reports LiveAction.org!  So far, the pro-abortion state has spent $10 million of state funds on advertisements in Indiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Texas. Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom is inviting mothers from the pro-life states to kill their children in California. The state allocated $100 million to the deadly cause. Federal court: Big Tech cannot censor On Monday, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Texas law that curtails the prerogative of social media outlets to censor expressions of free speech.  And it's sending shock waves across the nation, reports FoxNews. Texas GOP Attorney General Ken Paxton claimed on Twitter that it a “MASSIVE VICTORY for the Constitution and freedom of speech.” Federal Judge Andrew Oldham wrote in his decision that the social media platforms were insisting on "a rather odd inversion of the First Amendment.” He said, “Today, we reject the idea that corporations have a freewheeling First Amendment right to censor what people say.” However, the Eleventh Federal Circuit Court recently ruled just the opposite. It's called a “circuit split” that will have to be resolved at the U.S. Supreme Court. Queen Elizabeth's funeral pointed to Christ and God's Word And finally, England's longest-reigning monarch was laid to rest yesterday in St. George's Chapel in Windsor, reports the New York Post. Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, which was attended by 2,000 guests, including 500 kings and queens, prime ministers and presidents, included much Scripture. Among the cited Bible verses were Job 19:25-27 and John 11:25-26, where Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”   In addition, the congregation sang Psalm 23 and Love Divine All Loves Excelling. And Archbishop Justin Welby read from 1 Corinthians 15:20-26, 53, Psalm 42 and John 14:1-6. In a 6-minute sermon, Archbishop Welby made this remark. WELBY: “Christ rose from the dead and offers life to all, abundant life now, and life with God in eternity.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, September 20th, in the year of our Lord 2022. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. His salary, $480,654 per year, surpasses the president, making him the highest paid among the 4.3 million federal employees. Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky tweeted, “Fauci's resignation will not prevent a full-throated investigation into the origins of the pandemic. He will be asked to testify, under oath, regarding any discussions he participated in concerning the lab leak.” Singapore legalizes unnatural relations Following Taiwan and Thailand, now Singapore has also legalized unnatural relations between two men, reports Reuters. Texas public schools proclaim: In God We Trust Prayer and Bible reading are still against the law in American government schools. But Texas public schools and institutions of higher learning will be displaying "a durable poster or framed copy" of our national motto, In God We Trust, "in a conspicuous place in each building of the school,” reports CBN. Posters will also feature an American flag and the state flag of Texas. Psalm 118:9 reminds us "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.” Britain's economy slipped 11% in 2020 Official figures are finally in for Britain's economy in 2020.   The once great nation state slipped 11%. That's more than any other major nation, and the largest slip since 1709, reports Reuters.   Recovery is lagging as well.  Now, Britain's second quarter Gross Domestic Product appears to have gone negative with first estimates at -0.1%.  Real estate bubble is popping The Real Estate Bubble is popppppppping now. Here in the United States, we are facing a 20.2% drop in existing home sales, year over year. Fox Business said that's the most precipitous decline in two decades.  Twenty-one percent of sellers dropped their asking price in July. San Francisco median home prices have dipped to 2018 levels in just the last six months, reports WolfStreet.com. And the average 30-year mortgage rate is back up to 5.8% after a slight dip in early August.  NASDAQ dropped 6% The NASDAQ stock index is off 800 points in the last week, a 6% drop from its August peak, reports the Associated Press. Bitcoin followed, now registering 21,000 and change. That's a 14% drop from its August peak.  Great Barrier Reef grew 20% more coral In God's good providence, the Great Barrier Reef is doing better than ever, reports Cornwall Alliance.   All climate-change naysayers aside, the Australian Institute of Marine Science reports the reef has roughly 20 percent more coral than last year for another record year.   Coral now covers 34% of the seabed, double the lowest coverage recorded as 12% in 2012.  That makes for the best coverage in recorded history. Boy finds 4,400-year-old fossilized shark tooth And finally, an 8-year-old boy found a fossilized tooth of a gigantic shark, the Angustidens, on a South Carolina beach earlier in August, reports Fox News. The 4.75-inch tooth probably belonged to a 30-foot-long shark that swam the waters around the time of Noah's flood some 4,400 years ago. In Genesis 6:7-8, the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Will Evergrande Cause a Financial Collapse in China?

SD Bullion

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 20, 2021 14:17

In this week's SD Bullion Market Update, we examine chaos in alleged Chinese real estate Ponzi schemes coming undone and the incoherent nature of bearish silver and gold trading of late. The world has never seen a nation with the size and scale of China grow so fast.  Of course, years of ghost city scandals and malinvestment projects both built and blown up in short order to clear space for new projects is commonplace. But now, some alleged real estate Ponzi schemes are starting to hit ordinary people's life savings, and tens of thousands want their money back. Once the country's second-largest real estate developer, Chinese property development giant Evergrande, is drowning in debt and likely defaults on what it owes. Some 1.5 million people have put deposits on new homes that have yet to be built. Reportedly over 70,000 retail investors forked over vast sums of money, in some cases their entire life savings, after the country's second-largest, 'too big to fail' property developer wooed them with promises of 10%+ annual returns. After accumulating an equivalent value of about $410 billion fiats Fed notes in liabilities, the company Evergrande - which became the country's largest high-yield dollar bond issuer (16% of all outstanding notes) - sparked protests across the country earlier this week after announcing they were forced to delay payments in their wealth management products. Evergrande allegedly has more than 700 real estate projects across 223 Chinese cities - most of which lie in the country's less developed regions - and has committed to complete some 1.4 million properties by the end of June, according to The Straits Times.  Beijing has yet to make an official statement on what actions will be taken as many unsecured investors, both domestic and foreign, are hoping for a full-on government bailout. According to Wolf Richter of WolfStreet.com, "Property development has been a huge factor in China's economic growth and supposed miracle story. It accounts for 28% of GDP. And much of it has been funded by debt, including fiat dollar-denominated debt, and much of it is now blowing up in their faces. So will the collapse of overleveraged Chinese property developers cause a financial crisis in China and perhaps beyond? It could. But some of the biggest losers are foreign investors that bought those bonds, and not Chinese banks, and for a financial crisis to happen, it would have to sink China's banking system." For now, according to Wolf Richter, it looks like China might be trying to force "a brutal deleveraging on the property sector to bring down risks and tamp down on rampant speculation and price increases. It looks like an effort to rebalance the economy away from property development. It looks like investors are invited to eat the costs of this forced deleveraging, with the government perhaps teaching them a lesson, namely that they might not get bailed out and that the flood of liquidity into the property sector was misguided and needs to end. And it looks like the government is willing to take the risks of spillover effects into the broader economy and credit markets. And if, in fact, the government refuses to bail out bondholders, and allows a large-scale bloodbath among investors, particularly foreign investors, to occur in order to deleverage the economy, that would be a sea change for investors in China." In the coming weeks and months, we will likely see the Chinese financial authorities' direction. Again those 4 GSIB bank names (see page 3) we highlighted in this week's video, as defined by the Bank for International Settlement Financial Stability Board. Those are the Chinese megabank names to stay focused on in terms of potential contagion going possibly beyond China's borders. Silver and gold spot prices have been trading like trash of late. Maybe's now nearly time to buy high-grade gold jewelry instead of plowing all your family's wealth into some pie sky, ghost city malinvestment project https://t.co/i5AHidvp9R — James Anderson (@jameshenryand) September 17, 2021 The gold spot price is likely to close this week around the $1,750 oz handle, and the silver spot price looks to finish the week just below $22.50 oz. Silver is teetering on the bottom of its last over one-year consolidation channel, lookout. The gold-silver ratio has now climbed near 80, and it remains to be seen what kind of spot price attack shenanigans might get let loose this coming Sunday night in low-volume Asian trading to possibly get shorts out from under any potential paper losses they may still be staring at. If you are still acquiring physical bullion and precious metals positions, keep your heads on a swivel and potential buying triggers engaged.  Here is the gold spot price vs. the 200-day moving average throughout this whole fiat currency era now over fifty years running. Now we'll zoom into the last five years so you can see the context of where we are versus recently been. Here is the silver spot price vs. the 200-day moving average throughout this full fiat currency era now over five decades running. Again we'll zoom into the last five years so you can see the context of where we are versus where we have somewhat recently been. Anecdotal reports out of China are Chinese housewives have been buying the price dip and gold bullion import inflows were heavy this past week. On the United States side of this current situation, Daniel Oliver of Myrmikan had this gold versus real negative interest rate chart to remind us of how misplaced things are in the financial markets at the moment. Remember that when looking at current negative interest rates near negative five percent per annum, the US government is likely underreporting actual price inflation by a factor of times or so, meaning real inflation is expected to be running around 10% for most citizens.  Back in the 1970s, the US government and Bureau of Labor Statistics were not in the full-time business of rigging price data regularly as they are increasingly now. The case for the price of gold being multiples of where it is right now can be made based on past historical precedence repeating. But just let's wait and see how much worse the inflation data gets in the coming yrs before we get entirely shocked by this perverted price discovery. The reported balance sheet of the Federal Reserve is now at $8.5 trillion and counting.  Remember what happened last time the Federal Reserve tried to taper its balance sheet while the Federal Funds Rate got moved up to near 2%? That's right, the stock market rolled over violently, and emergency phone calls on Christmas Eve 2018 were made to the plunge protection team and US-megabanks. This financial system is still structurally sick as a cancer patient. The question of when confidence starts collapsing and investors start running for the tiny exits, that's what we're staying focused on here. This week, the Institute for International Finance reminded the world of the crazy debt binge it's been on, especially over the last handful of years. Of course, many of these challenging debt levels are owed by corporates, households, and others denominated in fiat currencies. Most of these debtors do not have their very own legal tender printing presses. Newsflash: much of this debt is not going to get paid back in real term$. Not accounted either in these totals are $100s of trillions not saved for unfunded liabilities that the west owes. For example, unfunded programs like social security, medicare, government pensions, and other mandatory government promise piles accrued in the USA alone. How will the future defaults and currency debasements in absolute real value terms unfold? Now to move this bullion market update back to silver from the start of September 2021. Long-time silver derivative trade Peter Brandt tweeted the asymmetric bet he was supposedly making to begin this month. The idea is that the silver spot would not see below $20 oz before running at $50 oz ahead. Well, that claim is now an honest question. But let's look at some ridiculous fundamental drivers outside of record silver investment demand ongoing. For example, the Biden administration is about to propose a $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill. A large portion of promises is about a massive solar panel buildout for the US electric grid in the decades to come. We now have outlandish claims from the Department of Energy stating that 40% of US electricity will come from solar panels by 2035. Imagine a solar panel a bit smaller than the state of Maine broken up and sprinkled about on rooftops and in unused sections and swaths of arid and non-US farmlands. The US Department of Energy also has a Solar Futures Study, 310 pages long, and one riddled with many assumptions that will prove wrong. But the most salient part was likely on the report's page 166, where they explicitly state, "silver demand from solar panels could reach almost 40% of 2020 global production in a global decarbonization scenario." Ah, Earth to the Department of Energy. I don't know; maybe you haven't been paying attention thus far this decade. But the amounts of silver bullion and investment ETF demand ongoing and likely to come will be a real problem for silver supply levels at these paltry spot prices. London complained that they almost ran out of silver bullion inventories a mere handful of months ago. You better come up with a higher spot price to induce the silver mining and refining required to meet the lofty figures you published in this report. This report also talks of one-day undefined thrifting more expensive silver inputs for copper into this solar panel infrastructure grid build-out. Never mind that current copper solar panels don't perform as well nor last as long. And oh yea, silver laced solar panels only have about a three-decade lifespan, so hopefully, by the year 2050, we've invented cold fusion and free energy. But the Department of Energy has a commingled figure of 2,572,056,000 oz silver / and later thrifted solar panel copper ounces that will supposedly go into this massive government energy program. So the idea that the silver spot price will slip back and flounder into the teens for a long duration to come is pretty silly. The US government is talking about silver-laced solar panels combined with their seemingly infinite fiat monetary base ramping galore; silver should be set up for some of its best years to come. That is all for this week's SD Bullion update. Thanks for tuning in, and as always, take great care of yourselves and those you love.

In this episode of the Keiser Report, Max and Stacy start with the Financial Times headlines announcing what Keiser Report had warned would happen: Deutsche Bank’s new ‘bad bank’ for all of their toxic derivatives. Once again, the profits are privatized while the risks are socialized onto the backs of the German taxpayers. They then look at the charts from WolfStreet.com showing Deutsche Bank’s death spiral as the share price has dropped by over 90% since the 2008 financial crisis. In the second half, Max interviews banker and author Mitch Feierstein of PlanetPonzi.com about what happens when central bankers try to taper a ponzi: you get a bad bank for Deutsche Bank. Are we heading into another financial crisis? And, if so, what will central bankers do to make it worse this time?
