This week started with Amazon Prime Day, the online retail giant's annual day of discounts. But those unbelievable deals are illegal in Wisconsin, thanks to the state's antiquated Minimum Markup law, a relic of the Great Depression, when the Amazon was just a river. As a leader (in any capacity) you probably know that…Not only have you got to become the best, but becoming the best against all odds is vital. Right now I want you to ask yourself; What are the disadvantages you feel you’ve been dealt? Now what if you could take that crappy hand turn it into your greatest advantage? Well stay turned because our guest today is Richard TurnerHis unparalleled skill with a deck of cards has been repeatedly featured on world-wide television, including Penn & Teller’s TV series called “Fool Us.” Penn said, “Richard fooled us with every single move he did.” Richard Turner is also the subject of the feature documentary film titled “Dealt,” which won the “Audience Choice Award at South by Southwest Film Festival with rave reviews from the New York Times to the L. A. Times. DEALT is 95 on Rotten Tomatoes, 5 stars on ITunes, VARIETY called Turner “nothing short of dazzling” and Teller said, DEALT knocked me dead--A great Documentary!”Now you might be thinking why has Dov Baron got a guy who fooled Penn & Teller on his leadership show? Well just wait and you’ll see. Richard Turner is a master Card Mechanic—Manipulator, who’s talent, humour, poise and eloquence has made him a highly sought-after stage entertainer and Fortune 500 speaker. He has entertained and entranced millions of people, including celebrities such as Tonight Show host Johnny Carson, comedian Bob Hope, actor Brad Pitt, sports legend Muhammad Ali, and many more. On top of that he holds a 6th degree black belt in karate. I tell you this because by the age of thirteen, Richard Turner’s vision deteriorated to 20/400, twice the level deemed legally blind.More about Richard Turner and the Movie Dealt: https://richardturner52.comTo find out more about hiring the host Dov Baron as a speaker or strategist: http://fullmontyleadership.com/consulting or http://fullmontyleadership.com/speakingRemember you can now also find us on iTunes, Spotify, iHeart Radio, or wherever you tune into podcastsAnd on traditional radio stations across the US every Monday and Thursday on: 99.5 FM & 1520 AM Las Vegas102.1 FM & 1640 AM Lancaster, Philadelphia87.9 FM & 810 AM Macon, Gorgia 92.1 FM & 1630 AM Tampa, Florida97.7 The Villages, Florida96.3 FM Boulder ,Colorado90.3 FM Milwaukee, Wisconsin 94.7 FM Pittsburg, Philadelphia87.9 FM Colorado Springs, ColoradoAlso look for us on ROKU TV where there’s 100K subscribers. On this episode we’ll be taking an insider look at…"Leading by example"…And why it might need to mean something very divergent than it used to!We all know that as a leader you are an example… but has sayings it become a cliche that means very little? If we are going to lead by example have we actually taken the time to self enquire what that example might REALLY be? If you have taken the time to genuinely do that, is it translating across your brand? What if discovering and living your brand is a sacred journey? Well stay tuned because our guest on this episode is Jared Angaza is a Identity Architect, author, podcaster, philanthropist, spiritual development coach, and philosopher. As a leader and consultant he's on a life-long quest to expand people's perspectives and contribute to a more harmonious world. This is NOT your average everyday Leadership conversations....This episode is an adventure, a heroic journey into leadership at the most soulful level! For example we will speak about:In the wake of what could seem to be a new "war of the sexes" we'll examine the "false masculine” Leadership through the lens of feminine and masculine energy. The importance of imagination and creativity in deliberately designing our identity. Why the sweetest elements of life are as a result of discipline (and that's a gift, not a curse!)We dig into how to find your own sacred and heroic journey. To find out more about Jared: jaredangaza.comTo find out more about hiring the host Dov Baron as a speaker or strategist: http://fullmontyleadership.com/consulting or http://fullmontyleadership.com/speakingRemember you can now also find us on iTunes, Spotify, iHeart Radio, or wherever you tune into podcastsAnd on traditional radio stations across the US every Monday and Thursday on: 99.5 FM & 1520 AM Las Vegas102.1 FM & 1640 AM Lancaster, Philadelphia87.9 FM & 810 AM Macon, Gorgia 92.1 FM & 1630 AM Tampa, Florida97.7 The Villages, Florida96.3 FM Boulder ,Colorado90.3 FM Milwaukee, Wisconsin 94.7 FM Pittsburg, Philadelphia87.9 FM Colorado Springs, ColoradoAlso look for us on ROKU TV where there’s 100K subscribers. The Game of LeadershipTo win today we have to treat our top talent as team players, but how can we create a culture of high-performing teams that actually work? If we now refer to our employees as team mates, then maybe we should know how high-performing teams actually work. Cody Royal solves that… He's the Cody Royle: The Sports-Business Guy and he offers not only a look behind the curtain of pro sports, but a walk through what's really going on that makes a pro team excel, and how we can mirror this in business. Cody wants to bring the business of sports out of the 'motivation' category, and place it squarely at the centre of mainstream business discussion. He is the Head Coach of AFL Team Canada, and Author of the hit sports business book WOW “Where Others Won’t."Cody's consulting focus is on recruitment, leadership, culture and high-performance.In this fascinating interview Cody Royle busts 3 mainstream myths: Myth 1: Retention is an effective measure of business health. The reality...tune inMyth 2: Your team must adapt to you and your leadership style. The reality...tune inMyth 3: Culture is a set thing that can be maintained irregularly. The reality...tune inCody Royle has coached professionally in Australia while always working in sync with corporate organizations. It was in these dual roles that he got to see the gap he could fill. As Head Coach of AFL Team Canada, he was building a high-performing culture on the weekends, then working in the banking world Monday-Friday, he saw that his manager and mangers throughout showed mastery at maintaining a low-performing culture. This is when he realized that he needed to write his latest book: Where Others Won't. The focus is in bringing proven high-performance ideas to the forefront of business discussion. Cody then spent a year interviewing execs, coaches and players from the NFL, NBA, MLS, English Premier League, AFL and many other sports, as well as Founders/CEOs from a range of high-performing Canadian companies. If you are fascinated by sports and business, you will love this conversation! You can book Cody to speak to your team by emailing cody@whereotherswont.com or visiting www.whereotherswont.comTo find out more about hiring the host Dov Baron as a speaker or strategist: http://fullmontyleadership.com/consulting or http://fullmontyleadership.com/speakingRemember you can now also find us on iTunes, Spotify, iHeart Radio, or wherever you tune into podcastsAnd on traditional radio stations across the US every Monday and Thursday on: 99.5 FM & 1520 AM Las Vegas102.1 FM & 1640 AM Lancaster, Philadelphia87.9 FM & 810 AM Macon, Gorgia 92.1 FM & 1630 AM Tampa, Florida97.7 The Villages, Florida96.3 FM Boulder ,Colorado90.3 FM Milwaukee, Wisconsin 94.7 FM Pittsburg, Philadelphia87.9 FM Colorado Springs, ColoradoAlso look for us on ROKU TV where there’s 100K subscribers. The month after his record breaking 2017 Kickstarter ended, he suddenly realized how far out of my depth he had landed. One minute he was an Opera Singer the next a CEO. He rapidly went from despair, to doing what real leaders do: Sending out calls for help and advisors. There he realized that running a business was a matter of seeking the advice of others (who knew what he did not) and integrating it into an ongoing plan.On this show we talk about learning languages and the myths we have about it, and how busting those myths will transform your leadership. Our guest on this episode is Gabriel Wyner. He is the author of Fluent Forever: How to learn any language fast and never forget it.At the end of last year, he ran the most successful crowdfunding campaign for any app in history, doubling the previous record. He's now found himself running a software company that's creating the next generation of language learning products. But Gabriel's path into this role was anything but direct. 6 years ago, he was an opera singer, struggling to 'make it' in the music business in Vienna, Austria. His path from struggling musician to CEO of a successful software company makes him an 'accidental leader' - someone who doesn't set out to become a leader, and yet finds himself in that role regardless.More about Gabriel Wyner: www.Fluent-Forever.comTo find out more about hiring the host Dov Baron as a speaker or strategist: http://fullmontyleadership.com/consulting or http://fullmontyleadership.com/speakingRemember you can now also find us on iTunes, Spotify, iHeart Radio, or wherever you tune into podcastsAnd on traditional radio stations across the US every Monday and Thursday on: 99.5 FM & 1520 AM Las Vegas102.1 FM & 1640 AM Lancaster, Philadelphia87.9 FM & 810 AM Macon, Gorgia 92.1 FM & 1630 AM Tampa, Florida97.7 The Villages, Florida96.3 FM Boulder ,Colorado90.3 FM Milwaukee, Wisconsin 94.7 FM Pittsburg, Philadelphia87.9 FM Colorado Springs, ColoradoAlso look for us on ROKU TV where there’s 100K subscribers. Technology and SuccessionUntil recently, the way the boss ran the business was the 'only way'. Today, that is not the case. On this episode Dov Baron shares the history of Kodak and it's final fate as an example. Why do we never hear about them now? Kodak was the first company to come up with digital photography, but ignored it and were bypassed by all the digital camera makers and chips. Reacting to what happens is not enough.Think Blockbuster Videos. NextGen leaders have a unique view of what's coming and how to use that technology. If you don't tap into their knowledge, you could be the next Blockbuster... and not in a good way! Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few years, you know that the recession has aggravated what already was a deteriorating relationship between employers and their employees. While things weren’t rosy before, now everyone knows someone (or has experienced it themselves!) who was caught in layoffs, buyouts, downsizing, capsizing, and reductions in benefits, not to mention freezes on new hires, pay raises, and promotions. You also know the result: People are willing to abandon companies like the proverbial rats on a sinking ship because no one feels safe! The reason this happens isn’t rocket science! If you even suspect that the ship you are on could go down and something else comes along, there’s a good chance you’d jump ship too. Think about it. The fear doesn’t have to be based on facts; a nasty corrosive rumour can have people racing toward the exits just as easily.A Wharton School of Business article says that most companies can expect to lose anywhere between 20 and 50 percent of their employees in any given year. Few things are more disruptive and costly to your business than an unexpected exodus from your talent pool.To find out more about hiring the host Dov Baron as a speaker or strategist: http://fullmontyleadership.com/consulting or http://fullmontyleadership.com/speakingRemember you can now also find us on iTunes, Spotify, iHeart Radio, or wherever you tune into podcastsAnd on traditional radio stations across the US every Monday and Thursday on: 99.5 FM & 1520 AM Las Vegas102.1 FM & 1640 AM Lancaster, Philadelphia87.9 FM & 810 AM Macon, Gorgia 92.1 FM & 1630 AM Tampa, Florida97.7 The Villages, Florida96.3 FM Boulder ,Colorado90.3 FM Milwaukee, Wisconsin 94.7 FM Pittsburg, Philadelphia87.9 FM Colorado Springs, ColoradoAlso look for us on ROKU TV where there’s 100K subscribers.
