Airy Groove on Gtownradio.com, Mary Truth Serum Pitts, CEO of Prophetic Presentations and Co-host of The Broke N Truth show on Gtownradio.com.  Rev. Ann Colley, Clinical Therapist, was our phone guest, and Papa Pitts from North Carolina chimed in.  The Fam and our guests dissected the epidemic of the School to Prison pipeline, the systematic problem where our Public Schools are more apt to criminalize our children/students' inappropriate conduct, as opposed to making real efforts to educate and train our children.  Rep Harris suggested that the problem starts at the top with our elected officials but also includes each and every one of us.  Ian chimed in that our School Districts need the funds and the trained professionals in place to even begin to plug the pipeline, Mary Truth Serum Pitts challenged all of us to do our parts, bring our expertise our passion as individuals; Ann Colley challenged that we each of us need to recognize the root of our challenges, particularly Black Folk, and work within and round those challenges.  Papa Pitts preached that what we as a society are lacking is a sense of spirituality.  The bottom line is society needs to stand and wake b/c before we know it we are gonna have more graduates of the Department of Corrections than from our Schools and Universities.  Check out this Episode and spread the word, we need to dismantle the School to prison pipeline! This week on...  For the People... law in plain language & Debra D. Rainey, Esq.  Living the illegal Dream, Children of Illegal Immigrants The Dream Act! David Bennion, Esq., Immigration Attorney and Immigration Historian extraordinaire joined the FTP Fam to educate us all on the nuisances of the Deferred Action for childhood arrivals, or D.A.C.A. This piece of legislation is what actually stands in the place of the Dream Act.  We learned that although the impetus for such legislation was to try and provide some legal protection for children of illegal immigrants brought here as youngsters, the legislation is merely prophylactic and does not guarantee these children any longevity.  The topic of children of illegal immigrants and their state of legal uncertainty is real and quite disturbing.  If you know someone who may be touched by D.A.C.A even if you don't and just want to be educated and entertained, check this episode out!    Call in, Text, Email, Face Book, or Tweet us your questions! Mental disease or defect. In any prosecution for an offense, it is an affirmative defense that when the defendant engaged in the proscribed condcut, he or she lacked criminal responsibilty by reason of mental disease or defect, Such lack of criminal responsibility means that at the time of the criminal conduct as a result of mental disease or defect the defendant lacked substantial capacity to know or appreciate; the nature and consequences of his or her conduct, or that such conduct was wrong.  STUDIO HOTLINE 215-609-4301 Taking your LEGAL QUESTIONS LIVE on air!
