In this next installment of American Potential, host David From shares a timely conversation featuring House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Fox News contributor and Americans for Prosperity Advisory Council member Guy Benson, recorded at the AFP Freedom Embassy in Washington, D.C. Scalise breaks down the House-passed reconciliation bill designed to lock in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA)—a move aimed at preventing a $4.5 trillion tax hike scheduled for 2025. The legislation would secure tax relief for families, protect small businesses, eliminate taxes on tips and overtime, restore bonus depreciation, and make the 199A small business deduction permanent. The bill also features aggressive mandatory spending reforms, work requirements in Medicaid and SNAP, border security investments, and energy production measures, echoing the agenda backed by voters in the last election. This episode offers an inside look at the high-stakes legislative battle to keep more money in Americans' pockets—and keep the economy growing.

Real Numbers, Real Impact: A Financial Advisor's Case for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act

In this eye-opening episode of American Potential, host David From sits down with David McNeilly, a financial advisor from Michigan, who shares how the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) has had a measurable, personal impact—not just on his clients, but on his own family's financial freedom. With a background in ministry and a passion for helping others, McNeilly now helps middle-class families navigate retirement planning, tax strategy, and long-term financial goals. But when he crunched the numbers comparing his 2023 tax bill under current rates versus pre-TCJA levels, the result shocked him: a $4,700 difference in annual tax savings—enough to take his family on a Disney cruise. McNeilly walks listeners through how policies from Washington shape real lives, sharing stories of clients who have retired early, sent their kids to private school, or bought long-dreamed-of lake houses—opportunities made possible by smart planning and a more favorable tax environment. He also explains how he's preparing clients for the potential expiration of TCJA, and why higher taxes could force middle-class families to rethink their futures. If you want a clear, data-driven perspective on how federal tax policy affects everyday Americans—not the wealthy, but the working families—this episode delivers it straight from the source.

December 5th marked the centennial birthday of Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe of Azania [South Africa], the revolutionary Pan Africanist founder of the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania and one of the most impactful thinkers, organizers and voices of the 20th century. The day was marked by retrospectives in South Africa and in other places across the world, including at Sankofa Video and Books in Washington, DC. But Sobukwe has not been remembered as he should anywhere, including in his home country. There has been a long and dedicated attempt by South Africa to erase his memory and not fully integrate him at the deepest and most enduring levels of state memory. His crime? Unwavering, principled struggle for Africa and Africans, in service of greater humanity. Can this type of stance ever not be met with opposition within African governance formations? What lessons can we learn from the example of Sobukwe that can be applied to our contemporary struggles to build a better society? What happens when we choose to tell the truth, even as we play the game?JOIN KNARRATIVE: https://www.knarrative.com it's the only way to get into #Knubia, where these classes areheld live with a live chat.To shop Go to:TheGlobalMajorityMore from us:Knarrative Twitter: https://twitter.com/knarrative_Knarrative Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/knarrative/In Class with Carr Twitter: https://twitter.com/inclasswithcarrSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

June 13, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 147 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers' recent mandatory minicamp that wrapped up on Thursday. We go over the few notable things that Steelers HC Mike Tomlin had to say on Thursday and that includes his thoughts on the team's contract situation with OLB T.J. Watt, the health of the squad coming out of minicamp, and the practice starting times for training camp. Alex and I talk about how Watt's contract situation is likely to be the biggest topic of discussion until the team reports to training camp in late July. We also talk about the prospects of any players not being able to practice fully once training camp gets underway. Throughout this show, Alex and I have fairly lengthy discussions about Steelers WR Calvin Austin III, TE Darnell Washington, CB Joey Porter Jr., and T Broderick Jones. Those were triggered by several comments made about those particular players by several members of the offensive coaching staff this past week. Should glove color be important to Porter in 2025? Alex and I make our thoughts on that question well known in this show. We go over our most significant takeaways from the Steelers 2025 mandatory minicamp. We also discuss the prospects of the Steelers adding another playmaker before the start of the 2025 regular season. Former Steelers WR Antonio Brown was unfortunately back in the news on Thursday for something negative, so Alex and I make sure to go over the specifics for that. This 92-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap. We end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners of the show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four Thursday takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Middle East Tensions Clay Travis and Buck Sexton broadcast live from Washington, D.C., where Clay and Buck share behind-the-scenes insights from their high-level meetings with members of President Donald Trump’s administration. The hour opens with lighthearted anecdotes about fan encounters in Georgetown and a humorous mishap involving Clay being denied entry to a White House meeting due to not having a Real ID. Despite the setback, Clay books former NFL kicker Jay Feely—now a congressional candidate in Arizona—for Hour 2 after a chance sidewalk meeting. The conversation quickly pivots to serious geopolitical developments, with a major focus on escalating tensions in the Middle East. Clay and Buck analyze the Trump administration’s strategic posture toward Iran amid reports of U.S. personnel being evacuated from embassies in the region. They discuss the implications of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) declaration that Iran is violating nuclear non-proliferation agreements—marking the first such ruling in 20 years—and the possibility of an imminent Israeli military strike on Iranian nuclear facilities. President Trump’s firm stance that Iran “cannot have a nuclear weapon” is highlighted, along with his administration’s efforts to support Israel while avoiding direct U.S. military involvement. Buck, drawing on his CIA background, and Clay explore the broader regional dynamics, including the Abraham Accords, Saudi-Israeli relations, and Iran’s weakening influence through proxies like Hezbollah and Hamas. They also examine the internal pressures facing the Iranian regime and speculate on whether a successful Israeli strike could destabilize the theocracy and pave the way for a more democratic future in Iran. Jay Feely for AZ Arizona congressional candidate Jay Feely. The former NFL kicker and sports broadcaster shares his journey from the football field to the political arena, emphasizing his commitment to President Donald Trump’s America First agenda. Feely discusses the challenges of campaign fundraising, the importance of border security, and the economic struggles facing young Americans, particularly in high-cost housing markets like Arizona. Feely also weighs in on the controversial topic of transgender athletes in women’s sports, defending fairness and safety for female competitors. He recounts his personal experience coaching girls' soccer and criticizes Simone Biles’ comments about Riley Gaines, highlighting the biological advantages male athletes have in women’s sports. The hour takes a lighter turn as Clay and Buck debate whether Clay could beat WNBA star Angel Reese in a one-on-one basketball game, sparking humorous banter about aging, athleticism, and dad pride. Feely joins in, joking about his own competitive edge and experiences playing with LPGA golfers. NYC Politics The upcoming mayoral race doesn't offer good options. Clay and Buck critique progressive candidate Zohran Mamdani’s past support for replacing police with social workers in high-crime areas, contrasting it with the potential return of Andrew Cuomo. Despite Cuomo’s controversial past, Clay argues he may be the most rational Democrat in the race, sparking debate among listeners. Obedience Training for the Masses The escalating national unrest, immigration enforcement, and cultural flashpoints shaping the political landscape under President Donald Trump. The hour opens with a critical analysis of the ongoing protests and riots across major U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York City. Clay and Buck emphasize the distinction between peaceful protests and violent riots, highlighting the media's reluctance to acknowledge the latter. A major focus is on President Trump’s immigration policy, particularly his promise to execute the largest deportation operation in American history. The hosts underscore that this initiative, which prioritizes the removal of violent criminal offenders, aligns with the working-class majority’s support. They also discuss the exploitation of illegal labor by elites and the need for stricter enforcement against employers hiring undocumented workers. They discuss Atkinson's background as a military journalist for the Washington Post who has written books about the Gulf War, the Iraq War and covered other late 20th and 21st Century conflicts before turning his attention to writing a trilogy on the US Army in Europe during the Second World War and now the American Revolution.  They discuss the depth of his research in both archives in the U.S. and UK as well as his process for researching and writing these massive volumes (each of which has taken about 5-6 years to produce) and the decline of grand narrative history in the academy (despite the public demand for it). They consider how his own experience as a journalist affected his sense of the contingency of warfare and the fact that there are always tensions between the architects of war in capitals and the officers and troops on the ground. He explains how King George III and his ministers never understood the American drive for independence and were gripped by strategic misconceptions about how to fight the war, including the notion that there was a silent majority of North Americans who supported the monarchy despite the fact that the loyalists had mostly fled the colonies to Canada, the Caribbean or London. They discuss the star crossed career of Benedict Arnold, Washington's generalship at the Battle of Brandywine in Pennsylvania, and, finally, how Americans should think about the meaning of the American revolution today as we celebrate the sesquicentennial of the war for independence over the next 8 years. The globalist resistance, pro-America, media has been completely exposed as nothing more than a new form of mockingbird press. The big patriot leaders are in unison calling for the end of “third world immigration” and even “non-white immigration,” becoming the very thing the left accused them of all along - while ignoring the fact that Asians, for example, commit little crime, use few drugs, and are some of the top earners and contributors to the country. All the hopes and dreams of “promises made, promises kept,” are evaporating in real time, with few able to further justify the increasingly obvious: the downfall of the Republic has been monetized and archetypically framed. With riots all across the country, fears of a black and white racial war have instead manifested as Mexican and American; the fear of outright civil war has manifested as a problem-reaction-solution of absolute information control and military martial law in the name of defending the country. Now the “No Kings” movement has nationwide protests planned for June 14th, 2025, the day of Saturn. Rather than arresting the organizers behind that, and the riots via the communist Indivisible, the AG has instead sued a coffee shop for antisemitism. The protests are meant to resist the massive military parade and presidential birthday parade in Washington on the same day. Don't like it? You will be met with “very big force,” says the President, if you don't like his “big parade.” BIG beautiful bill anyone? Not even Roman emperors held military parades for their birthdays, but they did hold them for victories in battle. So either the Trump camp is totally delusional, considering nationwide civil war as victory, or the display is meant to put the final nail in the Constitutional coffin. It all culminates with the US suddenly pulling all nonessential staff from embassies across the Middle East and putting the country on high alert the same week. The word is Iran is prepared to strike Israel's nuclear sites and Israel is fully poised to strike Iran (thus, the Houthis are warning of war too), and regardless of what the fake Donald-Benjamin feud suggests, the US will sacrifice its own citizens for the jewish state, which itself will, under the Samson Option, destroy the entire world if it doesn't get its way. Hence, the fake (maybe real) threat of Benjamin Netanyahu circulating the Internet: “if we do fall, many parts of the world will fall with us.” *The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. A Boeing Co. 787 Dreamliner aircraft operated by Air India that was bound for London crashed shortly after taking off in Ahmedabad, in what stands to be the worst accident involving the US planemaker’s most advanced widebody airliner. Flight AI171 was carrying 242 passengers and crew. Video footage shared on social media showed a giant plume of smoke engulfing the crash site, with no reports of survivors. The aircraft entered a slow descent shortly after taking off, with its landing gear still extended before exploding into a huge fireball upon impact. The crash took place in a residential area, which could mean a higher death toll. The twin-engine plane had reached an altitude of 625 feet (190.5 meters) at a speed of 174 knots, according to data from Flightradar24. The accident extends a series of serious and fatal incidents in the civil aviation industry this year, including a mid-air collision in Washington early in 2025 between a military helicopter and an aircraft. Air India is in the middle of a strategic turnaround that includes a huge aircraft order as it seeks to tap growing demand from a rising Indian middle class. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the accident is “heartbreaking beyond words,” according to a statement, adding that he’s been in touch with ministers and authorities assisting the salvage operation.Boeing shares fell 7% in premarket US trading. The 787 is the company’s most advanced in-service aircraft and is popular with airlines because it is more fuel efficient thanks to its use of lightweight composite materials. Boeing said it’s “aware of initial reports and are working to gather more information.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

His words echoed the views of his South African born former adviser, Elon Musk, who has repeatedly used his X platform to amplify false claims of a “white genocide”. Many South Africans, including several Afrikaners that we have spoken to, dismiss the idea that they are under attack as wild misinformation. So where does the idea that white South Africans are being uniquely targeted come from? And what impact is it having on the diplomatic relationship between the White House and Pretoria? Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four Tuesday takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. There's Something Deeper Going On Dives deep into the escalating crisis in Los Angeles, where ongoing riots tied to illegal immigration enforcement have prompted the deployment of 700 U.S. Marines. Broadcasting from Washington, D.C., Clay and Buck analyze the stark contrast between the current administration under President Donald Trump and the response during the 2020 riots, emphasizing a firmer, law-and-order approach in Trump’s second term. The hosts explore how the Trump administration is handling the unrest with decisive federal action, contrasting it with the perceived failures of Democrat-led cities and states. They highlight the political and societal consequences of unchecked illegal immigration, including the strain on public services, the manipulation of congressional apportionment due to non-citizen counts, and the broader implications for national sovereignty and the rule of law. A major theme is the shift in conservative discourse from border wall rhetoric to a more urgent call for mass deportations and interior enforcement. Clay and Buck argue that the Biden-era influx of over 10 million illegal immigrants has created a de facto open border, with long-term consequences for American democracy and representation. California Gubernatorial Candidate Steve Hilton Steve Hilton, gubernatorial candidate in California, provides on-the-ground insight into the destruction in Los Angeles. Hilton describes a total breakdown of law and order, with businesses—many owned by working-class Latinos—devastated by looting and arson. He criticizes California leadership, including Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass, for prioritizing political pandering over public safety. The hosts also discuss the media’s portrayal of the riots, calling out CNN and others for downplaying the violence. They credit Elon Musk’s ownership of X (formerly Twitter) for enabling more transparent coverage of the events, undermining the “mostly peaceful protest” narrative. Additional topics include the historical context of the 1986 Reagan amnesty, the unique challenges posed by illegal immigration from Mexico, and the ideological roots of the current unrest, which Hilton links to decades of leftist indoctrination in education and politics. WI Sen. Ron Johnson In-depth interview with Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson on the pressing issue of federal spending, the national debt crisis, and the future of economic policy under the leadership of current President Donald Trump. This hour centers around the much-discussed “Big Beautiful Bill” currently navigating the U.S. Senate. Senator Johnson, a leading fiscal conservative, outlines the unsustainable trajectory of post-COVID government spending, emphasizing how emergency-level expenditures have become the new budgetary baseline. He contrasts historical fiscal responsibility—such as post-World War II spending reductions—with today’s entrenched budget inflation, highlighting a 58% increase in federal outlays since 2019. Simone Says Sorry Simone Biles issues an apology to Riley Gaines, but none of us believe she wrote it. It reads like a horribly written PR statement and doesn't make any sense or sound the least bit authentic.
