On the August 25, 2021 episode of /Film Daily, /Film senior writer Ben Pearson is joined by senior writer and weekend editor Brad Oman to have a spoiler-filled discussion about the third episode of Marvel's “What If…?” Opening Banter: In The Spoiler Room: “What If...The World Lost Its Mightiest Heroes?” Feedback“I'm surprised no one talked about the other effect this timeline had on Thanos shown in this episode. When fighting at Knowhere, a single electrical shock from Proxima Midnight knocked him out. This can't be the same Thanos that Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America couldn't defeat, let alone incapacitate in Endgame even before he re-acquired the Infinity Stones. P.S. I'm sending this tongue-in-cheek. I know this is more of an alteration of convenience in a cartoon, but I did think it worth noting.” - Jeremy N, Virginia Brief reactions BreakdownIron Man 2 section Black Widow Thor section Loki's arrival (Casket of Ancient Winters) The Incredible Hulk section(Exploding Hulk!) In What If? Episode 2 we see how another small choice affects the entire universe. This time we discover what would happen if the Prince of Wakanda T'Challa went to space instead of music loving Peter Quill. This is a spoiler filled podcast all about the episode. Marvel's What If? Episode 2 Synopsis Executive Produced by: Bryan Andrews, A.C. Bradley, Brad Winderbaum with Kevin Feige Head Writer: A.C. Bradley Episode Written by: Matthew Chauncey Episode Directed By: Bryan Andrews A small choice can change the universe! It's 1988, and in Wakanda the young and curious Prince T'Challa chooses to leave the nation's protective shield. Unfortunately an alien team of Space Pirates known as Ravagers have chosen to land at the same coordinates. Mistaking the young prince for the human son of a being known as Ego, they abduct the boy and take him into the galaxy. Now an adult T'Challa Starlord is notorious throughout the galaxy for his adventures, stealing from the rich to give to the poor alongside his adoptive father Yondu and his crew of Ravagers. He's been told Wakanda was destroyed and his family killed back on earth. Following a successful job on Morag, Starlord returns not only with an infinity stone but with a new crew member, Korath “the Pursuer”. As they celebrate their success back at the Iron Lotus bar on Contraxia, with Thanos the sometimes Mad Titan, Kraglin and Taserface, Nebula comes to T'Challa with a proposition for a heist on the planet Knowhere - to steal the Embers of Genesis from the fearsome galactic crime boss the Collector. Slipping past the Black Order and infiltrating the Collectors collection, while searching for the Embers, T'Challa comes across a Wakandan ship and discovers that Yondu has lied to him about his family's death. At the same time Nebula seemingly betrays T'Challa and the Ravagers to pay off an old debt she has to the Collector. Locked up on Knowhere, things are awkward between T'Challa and Yondu, but T'Challa is taken away to be prepared for collection by the Collector just as Nebula's double, double cross plays out. As the Ravagers escape, Yondu and T'Challa fight the Collector employing the “sticky fingers” tactic to defeat him and face justice from his assistant Carina and all of his other collected pieces from across the galaxy. After escaping, Yondu and Starlord sort out their differences and T'Challa takes his adopted space family to meet his family in Wakanda. Elsewhere, in a Dairy Queen in Missouri a young employee is mopping the floor, as the door opens a man shaped living planet called Ego comes for his son Peter Quill. Marvel's What If? Our coverage of the massive, mammoth ANNIHILATION SAGA continues. We're four episodes in, and the end is nowhere in sight! We've left the Annihilation War behind us. The bugs are gone. Kree space is pretty swiss cheesed and it's time for some well earned R&R...or at least it would be if the universe weren't instantly threatened by ANOTHER force in the pages of "Annihilation: Conquest: Prologue." Jake and Elias take a good look at that one-shot and, much like the last Annihilation conflict, dive right into a couple tangential but vital mini-series "Annihilation Conquest: Quasar" #1-4 and "Annihilation: Conquest: Starlord" #1-4. Reading in trade? All are found in the first trade, "Annihilation: Conquest: Book 1."Next time, the conquest comes to an end, but the Saga does not. We'll be reading, in this order, "Nova" #4-7, "Annihilation Conquest: Wraith" #1-4, "Annihilation: Conquest" #1 & 2, "Nova" #8-10, "Nova" Annual #1, "Annihilation: Conquest" #3-5, "Nova" #11-12, "Annihilation: Conquest" #6. If you're reading in trade, "Nova" #4-7, "Conquest" and "Wraith" are all in "Annihilation: Conquest: Book Two" while the other "Nova" issues are found in "Nova" Vol. 2: Knowhere.

To start you off right in the New Year, Marvel Shawarma makes sure to dish out something special. First we talk about different New Year traditions around the galaxy, including: the Kree homeworld, Sakaar, and Knowhere. Then we dive into a deep discussion about Marvel Masterworks: Fantastic Four vol. 1, and just what good ol' J.J.J. would do when the Invisible Woman saves the Fantastic Four. *gasp* Soon after, the Grandmaster, Thor, Doug's liquified remains, Valkyrie, and someone who is apparently Korg all hold a solemn ceremony for the death of Topaz. For our last segment, Leanor's horrible German accent will escort you through a rollercoaster of neighbors, from the T. Rex owner who is actually Kurt from the future to none other than Bobby Drake himself. Wow. That's a really long description. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/marvel-shawarma/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/marvel-shawarma/support

Panelists Venia | Don | Matt Germonprez Guest Chris Mercer (https://chaosscast.fireside.fm/guests/chris-mercer) Show Notes [00:02:25] Mercer tells us what exactly MeasurementMarketing is. [00:04:47] Matt asks Mercer how he filters through all of the digital data that’s available to us to make sure that this is somehow meaningful as a great tool. [00:08:09] Don brings up Facebook’s instructions on digital marketing 101 and wants to know if that’s a thing that can be done. He also wants to know from a competitive point of view if Mercer is concerned about data going over to other companies that be better positioned to use it. [00:14:21] Matt asks Mercer, in this highly dynamic landscape that he’s working in what are the ways that he goes about learning in this space. [00:20:18] Looking at next generations of technology, Don asks Mercer if he’s looked at any of the proposed replacements for the third-party cookie at all, like Google’s Flock and TURTLEDOVE. Also, he wonders if there’s a metric for how measurable your audience is, kind of like a meta metric of how well the metrics work. [00:28:32] Mercer goes through a few things that he thinks are most important for people who are trying to measure their communities and what should they know. [00:37:04] Mercer explains one of his “ism’s” called “Results on How.” [00:42:52] Venia wants to discuss how these theories and how the future of measurement Mercer has outlined it, is really going to impact CHAOSS. CHAOSS is providing so many metrics of giant toolbox and all of these communities that we’re looking to measure have to find that journey, have to use those pillars, so how do you think this will impact what CHAOSS looks like? Picks [00:49:33] Matt’s value add is he’s been running with his new dog to keep the brain clear. [00:50:22] Don’s value add is spring cleaning and using a new tool called Earthly. [00:51:05] Venia’s value add is the importance of building out an information diet. [00:52:02] Mercer’s value add’s are walking on a treadmill and a start-up called “Knowhere.” Quotes [00:31:18] “So, that’s the kind of journey that you go through and your job is not to create this massive gigantic implementation of just because you can, you should. That’s not how it is. You deal with the questions that you are trying to answer, and you build your implementation to answer those questions. Then you will start asking bigger questions naturally and then your implementation will improve to answer those, and then you keep doing that and the journey.” [00:34:15] “Truth is in the trend; power is in the pattern.” Sponsor Honeybadger (https://www.honeybadger.io/) Links CHAOSS Project (https://chaoss.community/) CHAOSS Project Twitter (https://twitter.com/CHAOSSproj?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Eembeddedtimeline%7Ctwterm%5Eprofile%3ACHAOSSproj&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fchaoss.community%2F) MeasurementMarketing-Chris Mercer (https://measurementmarketing.io/chaoss) Earthly (https://docs.earthly.dev/) Knowhere News (https://knowherenews.com/) Credits Produced by: Rebase.fm (https://rebase.fm/) Edited by: Paul M.
