The filmmaker, who directed Shang-Chi, one of the biggest movies of 2021, was already an up-and-coming director before joining the Marvel universe. Now, it seems he will spend a little time there over the next few years, while also developing programming for Hulu and Disney+.   In addition to his as-yet-unknown MCU Disney+ show, Cretton has another comic book adaptation set up at the streamer, although it's not what you might expect. The filmmaker recently announced a series based on former Action Comics writer Gene Luen Yang's acclaimed YA graphic novel American Born Chinese.    "Destin is a powerhouse storyteller with impeccable taste in material. As we continue to expand our roster, Destin's unique voice will help usher in an exciting slate of content for our global audience," said Tara Duncan, President, Freeform & Onyx Collective, in a statement (via Deadline).   "Destin is an amazing collaborator who brought a unique perspective and skill to Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings," said Kevin Feige, President, Marvel Studios and Chief Creative Officer. "We had a fantastic time working together on the film and he has so many intriguing ideas for stories to bring to life on Disney+, so we're thrilled to expand our relationship with him and can't wait to get started."   "Working on Shang-Chi with Kevin and the Marvel Studios team was one of the highlights of my life, and I couldn't be more excited about Tara's vision for Onyx Collective," Cretton added. "I can't wait to explore new stories and build new worlds with this community."   In Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings, Shang-Chi must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. The movie stars Liu alongside Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, and Benedict Wong. Shang-Chi is in some theaters now, having broken box office records over Labor Day Weekend and become one of the highest grossing films of 2021, and also available on Disney+.   Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer https://twitter.com/SonyAnimation/status/1467294398413262850   RUMOR: Ant-Man 3 Turns an Established MCU Villain Into MODOK https://www.cbr.com/ant-man-3-turns-yellowjacket-into-modok/ A new rumor claims a long-absent MCU villain will return and be transformed into M.O.D.O.K. in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.   Two rumors about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania have merged into a new report claiming an existing Marvel Cinematic Universe villain will return as M.O.D.O.K.   According to GWW, Corey Stoll will not only come back in the third Ant-Man film but the former Yellowjacket will transform into the MCU's M.O.D.O.K. Stoll was the villain in the first Ant-Man, with the finale seeing him shrink down to the Quantum Realm. Fans have long wondered if he could return, seeing as Janet Van Dyne, Hank Pym, and Scott Lang have all gone in and come back out. And earlier this year, a rumor emerged that Stoll would appear in Quantumania.   Obviously, it seemed likely that Stoll would play the same character again, especially after a Yellowjacket Easter egg appeared in Loki. But if the rumor is true, then it seems Darren Cross' time in the Quantum Realm will transform him into the live-action M.O.D.O.K., a villain long rumored to arrive in the MCU.   What makes the potential change more intriguing is that another rumor recently claimed Jim Carrey would play M.O.D.O.K. That rumor said he was likely to appear on She-Hulk and other Disney+ shows, but it also noted there was a chance the character would debut in Ant-Man 3. The throughline to both rumors, of course, is that M.O.D.O.K. will soon join the MCU, and it also seems safe to assume that Stoll will play some sort of role in Quantumania.   This wouldn't be the first time that a long-absent villain returned to the MCU in a new form. The Red Skull seemingly perished in 2011's Captain America: The First Avengers after picking up the Tesseract/Space Stone only to reappear in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War as the guardian of the Soul Stone on Vormir.   Outside of this twist, Marvel Studios also regularly tweaks comic book source material to fit into the universe of the films and TV shows. Considering how unusual of a character M.O.D.O.K. is, having an existing villain mutated by a parallel dimension isn't hard to imagine. And the Yellowjacket suit could easily be warped into M.O.D.O.K.'s similar yellow armor.   For now, however, all of these are simply rumors until more concrete info about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania arrives ahead of its July 28, 2023 release date.     DISNEY+   Kevin Feige Confirms Daredevil Casting In The MCU, And Fans Will Be Pumped https://www.cinemablend.com/interviews/kevin-feige-confirms-daredevil-casting-in-the-mcu-and-fans-will-be-pumped https://www.cbr.com/charlie-cox-mcu-daredevil-confirmed/ Over the years, certain actors have grown to become synonymous with the Marvel character they were hired to play. Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark. Chris Evans has claimed the fabric of Steve Rogers. Some roles can get recast, like Edward Norton handing Hulk to Mark Ruffalo, or Don Cheadle replacing Terrence Howard. But many lay claim to their character, and that's final. This is how many MCU fans feel about Charlie Cox and his portrayal of the blind attorney Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil. There have been calls to bring Cox over to the MCU and allow him to keep playing the Man Without Fear… and it seems like Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has been listening.    The man behind the machine that is the MCU sat down with CinemaBlend recently, and fielded out questions about Daredevil, and the character's potential in the MCU now that his Netflix show has run its course. It'd be a shame NOT to feature Daredevil in either a Marvel feature or a Disney+ show, and we asked Feige what he thought about Charlie Cox being able to stay in the part. To our surprise, the usually covert Kevin Feige confirmed the news that so many fans will want to hear when he told CinemaBlend:   “If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”   Kevin Feige still kept some cards close to his vest with regards to the future of Daredevil when it comes to a concrete timeline, but those who loved Charlie Cox's portrayal of the character can rejoice in knowing that he will return to Hell's Kitchen at some point and patrol the streets on behalf of the neighborhood's citizens. And in light of a number of shows that have been developing, bringing Daredevil over makes more sense than it might have when the Netflix show ran its course.    For instance, Hawkeye on Disney+ just introduced the character of Echo, a deaf warrior with connections to Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin. And Daredevil has been a consistent thorn in Fisk's side for decades in the comics. There have been rumors that Vincent D'Onofrio, also from the Netflix Daredevil show, is about to show up on Hawkeye, so pitting Cox against his former co-star is a natural progression.    If Marvel Studios only wanted to explore the legal aspects of Matt Murdock, who is as powerful in a courtroom as he is in a darkened alley, then Daredevil could be a natural fit on She-Hulk, another Disney+ show that's in production now that will introduce audiences to Jennifer Walters (Tatiyana Maslany), yet another superpowered citizen who practices law. Why was this such a common things at Marvel Comics over the years?   Charlie Cox's take on Matt Murdock and Daredevil was incredibly popular with Marvel fans, and an improvement over Ben Affleck's efforts in a doomed Daredevil movie that cast MCU rock star Jon Favreau as Foggy Nelson. We will see how many Netflix players follow Charlie Cox to the MCU if and when he arrives, but according to Kevin Feige, it's happening, and we know that fans will be overjoyed.   Will Daredevil's Deborah Ann Woll Return to the MCU? Kingpin Actor Shares His Thoughts https://thedirect.com/article/daredevil-deborah-ann-woll-mcu-kingpin-return   Vincent D'Onofrio Urges MCU Fans: Don't Forget Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page https://www.cbr.com/vincent-donofrio-urges-mcu-fans-dont-forget-deborah-ann-woll-karen-page/     Hawkeye's Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld Learned Sign Language for Alaqua Cox https://www.cbr.com/hawkeye-jeremy-renner-hailee-steinfeld-alaqua-cox-asl/ Hawkeye's Alaqua Cox says co-stars Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld learned American Sign Language to help her feel welcome on the show's set.   Hawkeye actor Alaqua Cox revealed in a new interview that co-stars Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld made her feel welcome on the show's set by learning American Sign Language (ASL).   "It was such an honor to work with them both," Cox, who portrays Maya Lopez/Echo, told D23 Magazine. "I think they are spectacular actors, and I have learned a lot from watching them work behind the scenes."   While Cox admitted she was incredibly nervous on her first day of filming the Disney+ series, she added that Renner immediately made her feel at home. "I remember meeting Jeremy on my first day of work on-set; I was a nervous wreck, as this was my very first acting job," she explained. "He then complimented me in American Sign Language (ASL), which comforted me."   The actor also shared that Steinfeld, who portrays Kate Bishop in the series, spelled out her name in ASL while they were doing stunt training sessions, noting, "I thought it was sweet of them putting in efforts to learn basic ASL to communicate with me. It means a lot to me as a Deaf person."   In addition to speaking about the kindness of her co-stars, Cox praised Marvel Studios for continuing to make diversity a priority in its film and television projects.   "I'm amazed with Marvel because they are doing such a great job with diversity and representation… It means so much to me because I feel like kids with all types of cultures and disabilities deserve to have more role models that look like them, to inspire and empower the next generation," the actor explained. "I'm so grateful to have this opportunity because I am one of the examples…"   The actor also recently detailed what it was like landing the role of Echo as her first-ever acting gig, noting that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige broke the news by doing the deaf clap -- where you wave both your hands -- over Zoom. "I was like, 'What's going on?' and they said, 'Welcome to the Marvel family!'" she recalled.   Created by David Mack and Joe Quesada, Maya Lopez/Echo first appeared in Daredevil #9 (1999) and is known as one of the few Native American and deaf comic book characters. Her powers include photographic reflexes, which give her the ability to mimic the movements of other people. While Cox recently made her debut as Echo in Hawkeye, Marvel Studios already confirmed the actor will reprise the role in an upcoming spinoff series titled Echo for Disney+.   She-Hulk Reportedly Talks to MCU Boss Kevin Feige in Her Disney+ Show https://www.cbr.com/disney-plus-she-hulk-fourth-wall-kevin-feige/ https://twitter.com/shehuIkupdates/status/1468036322979979264? A new report indicates that the upcoming Tatiana Maslany-led Disney+ She-Hulk series will feature a major trope associated with the Jade Giantess.   A new report claims the upcoming She-Hulk TV series on Disney+ will see Jennifer Walters breaking the fourth wall with Marvel Studios President/Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige.   According to the She Hulk Updates Twitter account, insider KC Walsh revealed on the Straight Outta Gotham podcast that "one of the breaking moments" in the show would be Jen speaking to Feige. This follows a report from July claiming She-Hulk would see Jen break the fourth wall, much like her comic book counterpart. Fittingly, the tweet includes a picture of the cover to 1989's The Sensational She-Hulk #1, which features She-Hulk talking to the reader by threatening to come to their house and destroy their X-Men comics if they fail to "buy [her] book this time."   Little is known about She-Hulk at the time, though it's rumored that the series will set up a "World War Hulk" movie, and Feige previously confirmed it was a half-hour legal comedy consisting of 10 episodes. "It's about six hours of content," Feige said when discussing Disney+'s initial slate of Marvel content. "Sometimes that'll be six episodes, sometimes that'll be nine episodes, in the case of WandaVision. Sometimes that'll be 10 episodes. You basically have 10 half-hour episodes, which is what She-Hulk ... will be. It all varies based on the story that we're telling and only based on the story that we're telling."   It's also been rumored that Krysten Ritter and Charlie Cox will reprise their respective roles as Jessica Jones and Daredevil from the characters' self-titled Netflix series, though Cox may be playing a different version of the character.   As for the Jade Giantess herself, Tatiana Maslany recently discussed how Marvel Studios is bringing her character to life. "It's all CG... I'm in mo-cap the whole time," she explained. "I'm on platforms with mo-cap where I have a little head on the top of my head..."   These comments came after a first look at She-Hulk was revealed on Disney+ Day, though the footage only featured Jen from behind. However, it also included Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner, still in his Smart Hulk guise. The two of them will be joined by the similarly returning Abomination, played once again by Tim Roth.   FEEDBACK [51:16]   TWITTER   https://twitter.com/Starsaber_222/status/1468981733320273924 Consultant Black Adam ✵ @Starsaber_222 @LegendsofSHIELD I am now pre-emptively accepting the retcon that (if she was a SHIELD agent) Laura was Bobbi's SO and passed the Mockingbird codename down to Bobbi when she left to start a family.   E-MAIL   Oh8four to stargatepioneer   Hey all! Okay, after getting through the amazing episode 4, I have a theory, and I kinda hate myself for it.    The watch that they're after would supposedly expose the identity of someone close to Clint.  I think the person he's protecting is his wife, Laura.    Now here's why I hate this, because I'm pretty sure I know who she's going to be, and it would be a final nail in the Agents of Shield Canon-coffin.     I've headcanoned my way through so much, with the season 5 Thanos fiasco and time jumps in both the show and the movies that don't quite work work with each other, but what I won't be able to headcanon is this: Laura Barton is also an ex-spy, specifically Barbara Morse, aka Mockingbird, the wife/ex-wife of Clint in the comics and the amazing character played by Adrienne Palicki in Agents of Shield.  And she would be the first Marvel TV character to be recast and brought into the MCU completely rebooted.  But all that said, I would love it so much.  Sorry, fellow AoS Lovers, I'll see myself out.   Until next time!   OUTRO [57:37]   We would love to hear back from you! The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has had a tough couple of years. Now, after pandemic delays, "interesting" TV excursions, and a general lack of the star power we saw in the heights of 2019, Disney has found itself in yet another Marvel related controversy: Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson has sued the multi-national media giant for inducing a breach of contract, and...effectively, not playing fair. What has the Black Widow herself claimed? And will she devour some of the profits of the studio she used to love, or will it devour her? Heroes don't die on Vormir, they die in litigation...in Virtual Legality. 0:21 Woo S! KimBarring any rights issues between Sony and Marvel Studios at his current stage of his superhero career do you think Spider-Man could be the leader of The Avengers? Do you think a story aspect of “Spider-Man: Far From Home” will be Spidey questioning if he is or is not for a lack of a better and no pun intended “worthy” of leading The Avengers?3:14 Woo S! KimIn your head canon, why do you think The Kree Supreme Intelligence didn't assist or support Ronan in his beef with the Xandar in “Guardians of The Galaxy?”5:30 Woo S! KimWould Storm and Wolverine be your top picks for characters that would appear on both X-Men and Avengers films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Sean and do you have other characters that you can see on both rosters?6:36 Woo S! KimWith the news of Zemo coming back in Falcon and Winter Soldier, I had forgotten that Batroc The Leaper didn't die, he was captured. Would you like to see Batroc return on a Disney Plus and or a Thunderbolts film?7:31 Andy BartonHey Sean. I've been listening to the podcast now for a few months and finally ponied up to support Marvel Studios News on Patreon. I wanted to go ahead and get my thank-you's out of the way and let you know how much I appreciate your and Paul's hard work and MCU insights. Keep up the great work!I just finished up Neil Gaiman's run of Eternals, so I figured I'd keep my question within that realm. I was wondering what you'd like to see story-wise from that film. Granted, I haven't delved too deep into either Kirby's initial run or Gillis's in the 80's, so I'm curious how you think the MCU will introduce these characters to both relative newcomers to the series and the completely unfamiliar. Do you expect the film to be impacted by the events of Endgame, or do you anticipate this being set in a different time period? I'm most curious about if and how they'll tie Thanos into the story.17:17 HelwalkHi Sean! I was watching the first Ironman today and got hung up on a scene so much that I had to pause it and contemplate. Pepper was so angry with Tony when she discovered his “secret identity” that she threatened to quit. After Tony made a point that he was finally doing something good, she said, “you're all I've got too, ya know”. For a second I perceived that she had clearly used a manipulative tactic to get what she wanted, to have some sort of control. To be honest I still feel that 2008 pepper Potts had an agenda at this point that wasn't close to sincere. As I got to thinking about it, it occurred to me that pepper from 2008 is so much different from what we have now. I believe that 2008 pep would have told current Tony to put his time travel theory in a lock box and bury it at the bottom of the lake. The point I'm making is that the MCU has brought forth the story arc of every single character, even minor characters, in the MCU. I started thinking back to minor characters that hold this same truth. Nearly every character has followed an arc that leads them to the best person they can be for the “End Game”. The scale of this is incredible and makes rewatching these characters a different journey every time! I would love to hear other examples of character arcs completed in this amazing saga from you or the patrons. Thank you for your patience with my ramblings. I know 2008 pepper would have checked out by now. Thankfully I've been “Rescued”.27:55 Giuseppe VicarettiHey Sean, my question for you this time is, What are you hoping to see from D23? Everyone I've been talking to says Marvel is showing something, and we know they should be announcing something, but what do you personally want to see from D23? And out of all the titles that are coming out and are scheduled for a release, which ones are you most excited for?33:16 Michael WeaselboyDo you think they will use The Ultimates as the new avengers team from here on out and just leave the avengers name alone?? I know it sounds weird but I thought I would ask.35:03 Michael WeaselboyWhen do you think we will see Antman 3??? And who should be the villain??37:48 Chad GinterListening to episode 127 and talking about Namor, and had a thought. Namor would obviously be upset 50% or his people disappeared and would be happy their back. However, having five years of cleaner waters could have convinced him that Atlantis finally needs to do something about the surface? Leading to a conflict with Wakanda?40:33 David RosenHey Sean and Friends, hope everyone had a great week! so if the soul stone exchange is everlasting, does that mean that  Gamora is the first person to have ever been sacrificed for it? What do you think the rules are if someone other than the person who receives it on Vormir, comes to possess the stone? Do they get to keep it, or does it just kind of vanish and go back into the clouds, or wherever it was, on Vormir? The Red skull did say it has a certain wisdom, so do you think it would know if a person who eventually comes to possess it didn't have to make the necessary sacrifice and allow that person to keep it?46:42 Giuseppe VicarettiMy next question for you Sean is, a hope of mine. We know that Thor will be with the Guardians in either Thors next Movie or the next Guardians movie, or if were lucky, both. My question is do you want to see Marvel do more team ups in their solo movies? Maybe Black Panther with Doctor Strange, or maybe later on Doctor Strange with the Fantastic Four. Is this something you would like to see or should they just keep the hero's in their own movies and have it build up to something big, similar to how we saw things in the first 3 phases? 0:22 Woo S! KimLet's say for argument sake: "X-MEN: Dark Phoenix" wasn't coming out so soon after Disney's purchase of FOX, do you believe Kevin Feige would have still waited however long he is waiting to debut the X-MEN in the MCU, why or why not?2:00 Woo S! KimSince Captain Rogers is not technically dead, he now is just showing how old he actually is, do you think Chris Evans would ever come back in a mentor role for Spider-Man and or the other New Avengers whoever they may be?2:51 Woo S! KimI have heard this rumor on the internet most notably on Nerdist that unlike in the comics Shang-Chi's father is not going to be foomanchew, but the real  Mandarin, what are your thoughts on the potential of this Sean, would you like this choice why or why not?5:00 Orion ZangaraHey Sean!! Do you think we'll ever get to a point where Marvel Television or Marvel Studios will create straight live action adaptations of famous Marvel comic book runs? For instance, I would love to see a Grant Morrison New X-Men or Joss Whedon Astonishing X-Men live action television series. DC comics/WB sometimes makes adaptations of comic book series with their animated features but it would be interesting if Marvel would not only do this with animated features but with live action features as well. Marvel Television and Marvel Studios obviously have been heavily influenced by the comics but are quite different in many ways. What are your thoughts about this? As always, you guys rock!! Thanks again for being so awesome!  8:23 Jim ScroggsDo we think Eitri got the use of his hands back at the end of Endgame?9:30 Alex WardHi Sean! I'm finally caught up on Marvel Studios News and want to thank you again for producing such quality content on such an unbelievably consistent basis. I've also been loving Fandalorians and am so glad those episodes have been pouring in lately!1) First, I want to say this question is not intended to take away from the epic scope of Endgame. But I wanted to ask -- after seeing Endgame, can you more easily see how Marvel Studios could up the ante for future "phase culminations"? For example, the final battle with Thanos could not have been more intense, fun, and engaging, but I could somehow see how Marvel could up themselves. For example, a cosmic-level battle with multiple recognizable villains, such as Doctor Doom and Galactus, while heroes fight multiple fronts on land, sea, and air. 15:37 Alex Ward2) Also, do you think Marvel purposely manages "scale" in order to leave room to top themselves each time, or is that just an absolutely ridiculous notion?16:41 Alex Ward3) Do you think any efforts will be made in future Captain Marvel films to strengthen her ties to Earth? My only qualm with her character is that she seems somewhat distant from this world, which is fine, but I feel like that would keep her from ever becoming a dependable, available member of the Avengers. Then again, we've only seen the very beginning of her arc.20:45 Alex Ward4) After seeing Endgame, have your theories changed at all as to how Carol has maintained her youth?21:45 MayaHi Sean! After seeing mural of Iron Man in the Far From Home trailer, it made me think about how Iron Man's legacy and heroism will be realized across the galaxy. It's expected that Earth will honor him, but do you think we will see any recognition and honor of Iron Man's sacrifice on other planets in coming films? Especially with so many people from other galaxies joining in the final battle, I love the idea of there being various memorials commemorating him within the galaxy.23:46 Michael WeaselboyHey Sean I was just wondering, do you wish we could have seen Nick Fury interact with the original six one final time??25:55 Giuseppe VicarettiHey Sean, my question for you this weekend is, if you were to choose One MCU movie to watch for the rest of you life which one would it be? Mine is Civil War.27:25 Mookie JohnsonDo you think that there is still room for Lady Sif in the MCU if shooting schedules can be worked out?28:24 Mookie JohnsonIf Marvel had gotten full control of Spider-Man before shooting Infinity war, what movie do you think would have followed Endgame first? I figure it would have been a franchise that didn't feature a dusted character. So would it have been Eternals?33:04 Mookie JohnsonSince the Time Stone was glowing in Infinity War when Dr. Strange gives it to Thanos, might he have been somehow orchestrating with Wong in the future the  logistics of when and where to have sorcerers in preparation for the final battle?35:16 David RosenHey Everyone, Hope all is well and everyone had a great week! I believe after Infinity War, it was confirmed by someone from the movie (either one of the Russos, or Markus and/or McFeely) that Gamora was in the Soul World, implying that while she is dead on earth, she “is” somewhere, and ipso facto, it would also mean that Natasha “is” somewhere as well. If this is the case, how would you feel about a “dead” Natasha narrating her movie from the Soul World? Even if we only hear and don't see her, I feel like this could be an interesting way to incorporate a “present” Natasha, so even if it does take place in her past, we would still get her current reflection of her past experiences. Do you think this would help with the idea (not that I agree with it) that getting people to care about the Black Widow movie will be difficult because she's dead? Thoughts?42:51 David RosenAlso, on the subject of Vormir, do you think it's possible that the giant cloud and beam of light that appears in the sky when someone sacrifices themselves (or in Gamora's case, gets sacrificed by someone else) is actually a portal to the soul world? Perhaps when someone dies, it triggers that beam which actually sucks up the body and sends down the soul stone. Do you have any ideas on how that whole exchange actually takes place? What do you think is up in those clouds and/or happening with that beam of light? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

0:23 Woo S! KimOne of the things I am really looking forward to about the Sam Wilson/Bucky Barnes series is hopefully playing off of something in the comics, that being Sgt. Barnes' road to redemption, even with the Snap and The Avengers saving the world, a lot of governments around the world aren't going to forget all the people The Winter Soldier murdered in the last sixty years or so, do you believe this will be aspect of the show, Sean?4:52 Woo S! KimIn your Head Canon, who is NoobMaster69?5:26 Woo S! KimI have seen “Avengers: Endgame” five times, I get the feeling that Okoye is lying to the other heroes during the Google Hangout at The Avengers Facility.  I think she knows that tremors from under the African plate are caused by Atlanteans and she wants to keep this information under wraps because the Wakandans want to handle this matter, their own, however, this may have nothing to do with Namor, but do you see my point?   7:30 Alex WardDo you think by the time we see X-Men and the Fantastic Four in the MCU, the current state of things--half the population missing five years and the trauma involved--will have dissipated at least on the cinematic side of things? For example, do you think enough time will have passed that it won't get brought up by characters like Reed Richards and Professor X?10:03 Giuseppe VicarettiHey Sean, my question for you this week is how do you think Disney will distribute the episodes for the upcoming TV shows that will be coming to DisneyPlus? 2:16 James KaplanDo you think Endgame underutilized Captain Marvel? I think she had a few good scenes but was expecting her to be more central to the story given the end of Infinity War. I also thought that maybe her characterization suffered a bit from being filmed before her solo movie. Anyway, would love to know your thoughts. 6:39 Ronald AcostaHey Sean! I'm on the side that's against introducing mutants via a multiverse. I've always felt that it might steer on the edge of being too convoluted. However it looks more and more like that's going to be the case with both this latest Spider-Man trailer and the reports that Diego Luna's Ghost Rider on Hulu May introduce a different origin/setting being strong indicators.I have nothing against a multiverse, but regarding a multiverse introduction for Mutants, I'm apprehensive as this would be a fairly new concept to tackle in a live-action cinematic format. I'm more than sure Marvel Studios can get us there and I know it all comes down to the execution, but I'm just curious as to what your thoughts or concerns may be. Especially with regards to how this might be the way we get the X-Men in the MCU. I know a lot of us have asked multiple versions of this question in previous q&a's, but given this new context, do you have any strong ideas of how it should be handled if this is the case? Or will you take the wait and see approach?11:24 Woo S! KimWhat did you think of the “Tonight Show” cover “We didn't start the fire” featuring Marvel Studios' stars?  The reveal of Stan “The Man” got me right in the feels?11:51 Woo S! KimI was just thinking about this do you think this run that Marvel Studios is having from “Iron Man” to now is comparable to Pixar's great run from “Toy Story” to “Cars 2” in terms of box office and critical response?12:45 Robert KlauserHi Sean and Patrons. I know we discussed Thanos for a bit on the Office Hours channel, (which is awesome btw) but what do you think influences the stark (no pun intended) contrast between the benevolent of sorts Thanos in IW to the ruthless version we get in Endgame? Thanks.24:33 Orion ZangaraHey Sean, Thanks for being my favorite podcast! You guys absolutely rock! With the potential news that the marvel cinematic universe will become the marvel cinematic multiverse, do you think marvel studios will use this opportunity to create an “ultimate universe?” That way marvel studios doesn't have to reboot the entire cast and still have characters cross over between the primary universe. Thanks again!29:01 Michael WeaselboyHey Sean I have a Spider-Man question. Since Far From home counts as a Sony movie, and assuming Marvel and Sony will renew the deal for Spidey. What Marvel movie will Spidey appear in next?? I know they will likely do a third movie but that counts as Sony's movie, and with no Avengers movies planned for the next few years, what movie will he appear in next?? Could he guest star in Doctor Strange 2 or some other movie??36:41 Nick AdamsHey Sean I have a question about time travel in Endgame. They say that they have enough Pym particles for a round trip each. 2014 Nebula gives Thanos her final particle, but still manages to come back to 2023 with everyone else. Is this just a flaw, or am I missing something?Side note: just subscribed to the Patreon a week or so ago, and I'm loving every minute of it. Keep up the good work!40:09 Derek BeebeHey Sean, do you think there is any chance of a MCU Star Wars crossover movie, and if so, what would you like to see?  I could only assume such a story would be out-of-continuity for both franchises.41:07 Derek BeebeEven more unlikely, could you ever see a MCU / DC movie come to pass?  And who would you like the villain to be?  A single one or a MCU and DC villain teaming up as well?43:42 Derek BeebeDo you think the next mega phase of the MCU will revolve around a single McGuffin like the Infinity Gauntlet?  If so, what would it be?  My theory would be the emergence of the mutants and the Phoenix Force culminating in Avengers vs. X-Men for the fate of the Phoenix.  Of course, I do wonder if they would be willing do any version of Dark Phoenix for a third time.48:18 Giuseppe VicarettiHey Sean and fellow Patrons, after seeing Endgame 5 times now, and my question is could we see Spiderman step up his mantle and be the new "Iron Man" of this new generation of Avengers? Or would we be intrigued with Tony's Daughter stepping into the fold when she comes of age? I don't like the latter only because we would have to wait a good amount of time before seeing that, whereas Spiderman is sort of already stepping into it, so to speak. What are thoughts on this? Is there someone else I may have overlooked?51:26 Mookie JohnsonI find it interesting that MCU Spider-Man keeps introducing himself as "Peter Parker ". I recognize that it is amongst fellow heroes as far as we've seen through Endgame, but I thought that protecting his Identity has been a core trait. Is this something you find strange about his MCU characterization?53:08 Mookie JohnsonIn your head canon, who ran Wakanda during the 5 years of the royal children's absence, and do you think the transition of power back to T'Challa was universally accepted?56:56 Brian WhiteWhen Rhodey returns with the Power Stone, it comes in the Orb that we see in Guardians Volume 1, but Steve only returns to the past with the Power Stone in the suitcase. Going to be hard to restore the stone to its containment on Morag for Peter to find without that, I think. Thoughts on how Steve might correct this in Captain America 4, the movie or Disney Plus series (I hope!)? Thanks!58:39 Alex KleinBased off the new Spider-Man trailer and interview with Watts on Fandango, I'm wondering if Far From Home is going to play out more like Iron Man 3 than Ant Man/Antman&Wasp in terms of box office. Knowing this movie may heavily deal with Endgame fall out could push it to 1 billion.1:00:06 Conor KellyHi Sean, I'm a bit confused about the Fury/Parker dynamic from the “far from home” trailers and ending of endgame. In the trailers Fury is waiting in Peters room and hits Ned with tranquilliser. How come Peters spider senses didn't alert him that someone was there and why then did he say “you're Nick Fury” like he'd never seen him before? Surely they met at Tony's funeral as they were standing about 10feet apart during it!!1:04:04 Robert ReinekeHi Sean. Is it just me, or is it weird to be launching a Black Widow movie after we've just seen what's presumably her fate in Avengers: Endgame? I think many of us feel that Black Widow not having a solo movie was an oversight, and her not being with the mini-teamup of female heroes at the finale was something of a missed opportunity, but I don't think it's something that can be retroactively fixed.  The MCU has been good at moving forward, so it seems like a prequel is a little out of step with the rest of the movies. Your thoughts?1:09:04 Jeremy WatsonSean, did you think it odd that Endgame didn't make a single reference to Vision? Wanda sort of hinted at him in her encounter with Thanos but nothing up to that point. Do you expect Wandavision to be the next time we see or hear of him? Thanks!1:11:40 AdamHey Sean. I know this isn't strictly a MCU question but it relates to the TV shows. I have always loved the tv shows that marvel puts out but now with Disney + I'm wondering which of the shows are technically cannon and which ones I should continue with. I love agents of Shield but know that it's not Necessarily cannon anymore. Do you have any recommendations on which shows I should stick with and which shows to drop when it comes to the mcu as a whole. Thanks 1:14:37 Rich WardIn Endgame when Scott is sitting outside the Avengers compound eating, Nebula seems uncommonly mean here. As far as I know she's never met or interacted with Scott, but when she sees his lunch blow away and walks by she says: "Careful, Rhodey, there's an idiot in the landing zone." Small, silly thing, and led to one of favorite moments (Hulk handing Scott two of his tacos), but stands out to me during each watch. I get why Rhodes makes the comment he does, but why do you think Nebula acts that way?1:16:16 Rich WardIn several recent interviews, Joe and Anthony Russo have said that Cap going back in time to be with Peggy has created a new timeline. From the New York Daily News: “Basically, in order for Cap to have that experience with Peggy, he would've begun another timeline," Anthony said. “Let's say he went back and found Peggy at the moment after he went in the ice but before she married somebody else. He could've begun the life with her at that moment in an alternate timeline.”But, in an Fandango interview, writer Markus and McFeely "reject" that theory:Fandango: So people are asking... Does this mean an old Captain America was hanging out this whole time while another Captain America was saving the day?Christopher Markus: That is our theory. We are not experts on time travel, but the Ancient One specifically states that when you take an Infinity Stone out of a timeline it creates a new timeline. So Steve going back and just being there would not create a new timeline. So I reject the "Steve is in an alternate reality" theory. What are your thoughts on the disconnect? Do you think this is intentional, to create a bit of confusion and ambiguity, and to let Marvel reveal more about time travel, the multiverse, etc. in the years and stories ahead, or could it simply be that they disagree on the rules of time travel? It's hard to imagine these four making a movie like Endgame while disagreeing on such an important piece of the story. Or maybe it's not that important or hard to imagine and I'm thinking way too much about it!1:24:34 Hector Giovanni NavarreteIn regards to the Multiverse opening up in the MCU due to the events in AE. Do you believe it could've happened due to the fact that Thanos destroyed all of the Infinity Stones? I have only seen the movie twice so I am not sure if I understood 100% accurately the explanation of the Ancient One about what happens when a Stone is taken out of a certain timeline. She mentioned how that could create an alternate timeline. So could something similar or the Multiverse opening up happen when the Stones themselves are destroyed and essentially taken out of the current MCU timeline? Just something I was thinking about, could be totally wrong.1:26:48 Keith BarberHi Sean - If Tony's arc reactor in Endgame only powers the suit/nanotech and is no longer keeping Tony alive, why does the light go out when he dies? Sorry if this has already been addressed, I may have missed it.1:29:08 Chris CascioHey Sean just been thinking of our post endgame world the mcu is in. I was wondering outside of the Xmen or FF who are some of the heroes that you would like to see enter the MCU. Two for me are Captain Britain and Nova the Sam Alexander Nova.1:29:53 Giuseppe VicarettiAnother questuon I have for you Sean is, do you think the Black Widow and Hawkeye moment on Vormir was not handled the best way it could have been? My meaning is, do you think Hawkeyes death would have had a longer lasting impact on our characters? Also do you think they dragged out that scene longer than they should have?
