Feeling like a “hot mess” mom right now? You're not alone.
Trying, versus dying. The answer to our recidivism problem - Christians like to call it "besetting sin" - is not to try harder to be good! That didn't work for anyone under the Old Covenant, and it still doesn't work. Yes, God's Law is good, but we won't become good by keeping the Law. The solution is much more radical than that. Today we'll look at some of the most mind-blowing, most glorious words ever written, in Romans 7 and 8. In the final episode of "The Mystery of Seeds," Duane Sheriff concludes his teaching on the Parable of the Sower from Mark Chapter 4, reviewing the four types of ground which represent the conditions of our hearts. Jesus called this parable foundational. By understanding this parable, we can connect with other biblical truths. The Word of God, as seed, faces hurdles in bearing fruit due to hardened hearts, offense from tribulation, and life's distractions such as worry and the deceitfulness of riches. Satan's deliberate strategy is to steal God's Word from our hearts. Be quick to repent from sin to keep our hearts soft, guard against offense that opens the door for the enemy, and cast our cares upon the Lord. When we cultivate good ground—hearts that hear, accept, and act on God's Word—we can expect a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundredfold return on God's precious seed. The Mystery of Seeds - Duane Sheriff Ministries
When we live out our faith in public, it naturally produces questions in the minds of unbelievers. We'll likely hear questions such as: Why are you a Christian? What do you believe about God? Do you believe the Bible is the Word of God? Why did Jesus die on the cross? Where is God in this messed up world? Why do you go to church on Sundays?Main Points:1. We need to reject the cultural pressure to keep our beliefs to ourselves. This is the strategy of Satan, to intimidate believers into keeping their mouths shut and not speaking up for our savior. Remember, we have good news! Good news is to be shared with others.2. Over the years, I've heard Christian say they don't share their faith because they don't feel prepared to answer these questions. This is exactly why the Apostle Peter says we are to “get ready.” We can prepare ourselves by thinking though how we would share our testimony. Write down why you believe in Jesus. Discuss with a friend or family member how you would answer basic questions.3. We must pray and ask God to use us. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill your heart and mind with the words to say. Trust that He will enable you to speak beyond your natural ability. Believe that God will use your words to speak to the hearts of the listener. Today's Scripture Verses:1 Peter 3:15 - "“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group

Satan's Little Season eschatology has become a popular alternative to the dispensational mainstream that has corrupted evangelical Christianity. Compared to the Judaizing beliefs of dispensationalists, SLS seems like it aligns more with reality. But is it true? Things are not what they seem, and people who believe in SLS eschatology don't realize that these beliefs are only about 30 years old, and that they originally trace to the Jesuits. Today we will debunk Satan's Little Season eschatology using the objective foundation of God's word. Those who choose to be honest with God's word will learn, and those who choose to remain paranoid, relying on self-determined speculations will not learn. * 00:00 - Introduction* 14:18 - What is Satan's Little Season?* 21:35 - What SLS Gets Right* 45:17 - The Sovereignty of God* 1:28:07 - The History of Satan's Little Season* 2:32:38 - Biblical Refutation: The Book of Daniel* 3:01:59 - Biblical Refutation: The Book of Revelation* 3:15:20 - Biblical Refutation: The Millennium * 3:54:59 - Biblical Refutation: 2 Thessalonians 2* 4:10:04 - Biblical Refutation: Recapitulation* 4:58:41 - Historical Proofs* 5:52:34 - Final Thoughts This is a public episode. Feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or like you're constantly losing battles in your life? In this episode, Pastor Stephen Mizell discusses spiritual warfare and how to stand victorious in Christ. In the final sermon of our "Stronger" series through Ephesians, we uncover the truth about who your real enemy is—and it's not the people around you. Discover how the enemy uses deception, division, and distraction to keep you defeated, and learn the practical steps to put on God's armor every single day. IN THIS EPISODE: Why people are your mission field, not your problem The three tactics Satan uses to keep you defeated How to intentionally put on each piece of God's armor Why prayer doesn't just make you stronger—it makes you surrender The deadly trap of isolation and why you can't fight alone How the church functions as both hospital and army KEY SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 6:10-24 This isn't symbolic fluff—it's spiritual reality. Paul reminds us that we're not fighting against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces in the unseen world. The good news? God never sends His soldiers into battle unarmed. You have everything you need to win the fight. Whether you're a brand new believer or you've been walking with Christ for decades, this message will equip you to recognize the battle, armor up, pray with power, and stand firm together with your brothers and sisters in Christ. SUMMARY: * Guest: J. Harrington, author of “Swords Up: Mastering the Weapons of Spiritual Warfare for Today's Christian Woman,” an eight-week Bible study. * Tragic loss: During pregnancy with a son, sensed the Holy Spirit warn she wouldn't keep him; hurricane delayed care; confirmed no heartbeat; experienced palpable peace from God in the hospital. * Aftermath: Peace lifted upon discharge; entered a season of anger and grief; continued attending church though unable to worship; community's faith “washed over” her until she could worship again. * Spiritual vision: Sensed a dark presence opposite God's presence in the hospital, awakening her to real spiritual opposition and the need to fight spiritually. * Defining spiritual warfare: Attacks and distractions that keep believers from their God-given purpose; highly personal to each person's struggles. * Armor of God insights: * Emphasis on knowing Scripture to detect Satan's schemes. * Discovery in Ephesians: “Powers” (exousia) includes “power of choice,” highlighting our daily choices as a battlefield. * All armor pieces work together; two threads tie them: surrender and prayer. * Prayer activates and sustains every piece of the armor; Scripture remains the primary weapon. * Identity: Strengthened by Scripture, prayer, confession, and biblical community; refute lies with God's truth (fearfully made, new creation, royal priesthood). * Personal battlefields: Motherhood, marriage balance, overwhelm, social media comparison; surrendering speech, attitudes, and reactions to God; guarding heart from toxic inputs. * Practical application to pain: * Hope in God's promises (e.g., future restoration and no more tears). * Use Scripture and honest prayer to process grief and anger; God can handle “angry prayers.” * Confession as a powerful, often-overlooked practice to break strongholds. * Tools and resources: “Emergency Toolkit” (free download at jpherrington.com): verses + short prayers for anxiety, anger, loneliness, worthlessness, etc. * Key takeaway: Read your Bible daily. Pair Scripture with persistent prayer and honest confession. This combination reshapes identity, fortifies against spiritual attacks, and transforms how you walk through pain. BLOG INTRO: Author, J Harrington didn't come to spiritual warfare through theory—she was drafted by loss. A military spouse and young mom, Jay describes herself (when in her 20s) as being prickly and performance-driven, a Sunday-only faith wrapped around busyness. She married her high school sweetheart, her husband became a marine and they began their family. They were first blessed with a precious daughter and with J's second pregnancy she prayed for a little boy so that the Harrington name would carry on through the generations to come. But J's life was about to be flipped upside down in a cruel and unpredictable way. God prepared her for the unthinkable when He spoke into her spirit before Hurricane Florence: “Get used to the idea that you don't get to keep your son.” As the hurricane came near, knocking out power even before it came on land…(and then if you remember anything about Florence, the east coast experienced power loss for 2 weeks, some longer)…J became concerned realizing she hadn't felt her baby in a few days. When the hospitals were finally up and running accepting appointments, her fears became a reality when they found no heartbeat. Forced to deliver her son as though everything were normal, she says, the delivery room was thick with peace. Nurses felt it, the custodian felt it—“like a warm hug.” As J prepared to leave the hospital God gave her a heads up on the battle that would be waiting for her. When she walked out of the hospital, the warmth lifted. What followed were “angry prayers,” the kind you don't think you're allowed to pray. J reminded us that God's a big boy, and that He can handle our emotions. I agree because He's been doing that for well over 2000+ years. Even though J could not praise the Lord or pray, she still went to church and it became the place where the faith of others washed over her until her own praise could rise again. Through grief came transformation. J admits that The me before my tragedy, couldn't be used the same way. Loss softened what feistiness had hardened. It also opened her eyes to the battle she believes many Christians ignore: not just demonic opposition, but the daily front-lines of choice. While studying Ephesians 6:12: (“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”) t was the word “powers” that stuck out to her. So she dug into the Greek word and the deeper meaning of “powers” and she found it to mean, authority, yes, but also “the power of choice.” In other words: our decisions can be a battlefield and that really resonated with me. Not only from the view point of experiencing that personally but seeing choices as a daily battle that I face and this of course made me see how important it is to understand spiritual warfare. J's discovery became a book…. Swords Up: Mastering the Weapons of Spiritual Warfare for Today's Christian Woman—an eight-week Bible study she says the Holy Spirit downloaded in minutes after she dared Him to use her pen. The study reframes the armor of God as both defense and weapon, threaded by two essentials: surrender and prayer. “Prayer engages every piece of armor,” We're essentially fighting with one hand tied behind our back if we neglect the Word. I know prayer and surrender seem very weak but isn't that just like God to confound the wise with simple things that reveal themselves as having transformational power? J's challenge for us is simple and fierce: dust off your Bible! Let's listen in to see how we can be equipped to battle all that this life can throw at us with the intention of destroying us even if it's only on the inside. Swords UP ladies, the battle is real. Most Catholic men have never been told the truth about what happens at baptism. Not the watered-down version. The real thing. Baptism is a confrontation with the kingdom of darkness. It is the moment a soul is ripped from Satan's grip and claimed for Jesus Christ. And in this episode, we open the doors to the old Roman Rite of Baptism, a rite forged in the heart of the Church, saturated with exorcisms, sacred signs, and the unmistakable authority of Christ.Father Dom walks step-by-step through the ancient rite that formed countless saints. A rite Satan despises. A rite packed with commands, renunciations, blessings, confrontations, and symbols that speak clearly: this child no longer belongs to the enemy. We explore the prayers the demons fear. The salt of wisdom. The triple breath of God's own ruach. The spittle of Christ echoing Mark 7. The repeated exorcisms. The renunciation of Satan. The chrism that marks a man forever. The white garment of purity. The candle of vigilance. And the final declaration of peace spoken over a soul newly liberated. This episode challenges every man to stop treating baptism like a family photo-op. Baptism is a battlefield. A transfer of allegiance. A declaration of war against hell.Whether you've been baptized for decades or you've never taken the time to understand what happened to your soul, you need this episode. Because if you don't understand the power of baptism, you will never understand your identity as a Catholic man or the spiritual war you were born into. And if you are not yet baptized, this is your call. Do not wait. Eternity is at stake.Challenge to the Men: Go to Scripture today. Find every passage on baptism. Read them slowly. Pray with them. Then open the Catechism and read the section on baptism. If you are not baptized, or your children are not baptized, act now. Do not delay. This is war.Three Powerful Quotes from the Transcript“Without the Church, I'm a weakling compared to Satan. Without the Church, I'm nothing.”“Baptism is the most ultimate exorcism. It tears a soul out of Satan's kingdom forever.”“Whoever God they belong to, that's my God.”Key Takeaway for MenUnderstand your baptism. Live from it. Because baptism wasn't a cute ceremony. It was your enlistment into Christ's army. Wednesday, 19 November 2025 But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” Matthew 14:16 “And Jesus, He said to them, ‘They have no need to depart. You, you give, them to eat'” (CG). In the previous verse, the disciples came to Jesus, noting the remoteness of the area and the late hour, imploring Him to send the people away so they could buy food. In response to that, it now says, “And Jesus, He said to them, ‘They have no need to depart.'” Although each gospel narrative stands on its own, it is still interesting to see the fuller conversation. Mark's gospel omits the words “They have no need to depart,” but it adds in the words, “And they said to Him, ‘Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?'” Luke likewise leaves out this first clause and omits the additional words of Mark. John's narrative says – “Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, ‘Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?' 6 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do. 7 Philip answered Him, ‘Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.'” John 6:5-7 Each account is from the writer's own perspective, and yet, they can be harmoniously woven together. In Matthew, Jesus continues, saying emphatically, “You, you give, them to eat.” One can see the emphasis from Jesus returned to the disciples based on their words, emphatically highlighted by the remoteness of the area – *“Desolate, it is, this place, and the hour, it passed already. You dismiss the crowds that, having departed into the villages, they should buy themselves food.” *“They have no need to depart. You, you give, them to eat” Jesus is providing instruction in who He is and what He is capable of, and He is doing it in a manner that has astonished the minds of His people for two millennia. These are His disciples, and they have been called to accomplish an impossible task. Despite this, the mass feeding will take place, exactly as Jesus directs. Life application: The miracle of feeding this multitude is something that the Bible asks us to believe at face value. We are not to look for some behind-the-scenes finagling on the part of the disciples or Jesus. In other words, there wasn't a convoy of trucks just on the other side of the hill, secretly ready to deliver food to feed the multitudes. Rather, God provided the food for the people just as He did with the manna in the wilderness for forty years. It was a true miracle that is to be accepted as such. God continues to perform the miraculous in ways we may not perceive or understand, even to this day. These are done in order to suit His purposes. Unfortunately, too often, people claim the miraculous when what occurred had nothing to do with God's providing a miracle. There are key issues we should look for to determine if something is truly miraculous. One is to ask if the matter brought glory to God. That is the first and key point. However, such cannot be a miracle that supposedly glorifies God but which doesn't glorify Jesus. There are innumerable claims of the miraculous in Catholicism, which supposedly highlight Mary or some other figure. Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, and other religions claim miracles all the time. Do a general search on YouTube and you'll see this. Likewise, claims of the miraculous come from Mormonism and other false cults that fall under the umbrella of “Christian” denominations. If biblical Christianity is true, these miracles cannot be real, God-directed miracles. Paul speaks of false gospels, false prophets, false brethren, and the working of Satan, which includes power, signs, and lying wonders. Therefore, not everything that appears miraculous is. In fact, the large preponderance of so-called miracles in the world is nothing but chance events, false claims, or active workings of Satan. As you read the Bible, evaluate the miracles in it and consider why they are recorded. They will always be there to glorify God and to validate His workings in and among His people or for their instruction. Have discernment, and don't trust anything simply because it is presented by someone who claims to be Christian. You will find that almost every supposed claim of divine intervention, be it dreams, tongues, appearances, or other supposed miraculous events, is simply hogwash. The Bible is written. It testifies to Jesus and His workings. Do you really need more to edify your walk before the Lord? Have faith in what God has done. If He does more in your life, be grateful that His hand was upon you for whatever need you had, be it healing, financial help, or a moment of encouragement that you alone share with Him and that builds you up as His child. Lord God, help us to have discernment and not to get caught up in things that are not helpful to our relationship with You. There are way too many distractions in this life that are neither edifying nor healthy. Keep us from such things, O God. Amen.
I opened the show with Balaam, the original for-profit prophet. He was not the last one. We still have plenty today with nice suits, studio lighting, and partner plans "…if you act now!" Balaam took the job, hopped on his donkey, and headed out. God blocked the road. The donkey saw it. Balaam did not. After a few detours and a smashed foot, the donkey finally spoke. And instead of freezing or questioning reality, Balaam argued with her as if this was completely normal. That part always gets me. Did animals talk a lot back then? I live around horses and cattle here in Montana. If one of them said, "Peter, we need to talk," I would like to think I would pause and reconsider a few things. Balaam did not. He snapped right back at the donkey and missed the angel standing in the road. And thinking about it, as a caregiver, do I often do the same thing? I get locked in on what I am trying to do … and miss the very thing God may be using to protect me. Sometimes the obstacle is not the problem. It is the rescue. In the next segment, a listener asked about spiritual attack. I kept it simple. Satan had to ask permission for Job. He had to ask for Peter. He has to ask for us. The enemy does not get an open gate to God's people. I rest more in that truth than in anything I feel on a hard day. Then the show moved from talking donkeys to unpacking boxes. Gracie and I are sorting through years of stored belongings. She remembers exactly where every decorative plate hung in our old kitchen. I sometimes need a leaf blower to find my desk. The process has reminded me how much I hold on to, not only physical things, but guilt, fear, and expectations that weigh more than any box in the house. That led naturally to the hymn for the week, "Take My Life and Let It Be," which Frances Havergal wrote as a kind of spiritual clean-out, offering each part of herself back to God. If the episode has a theme, it is simple. Pay attention. When something in your life suddenly speaks, pause before arguing with it. Send us a textWhat if your faith had to outlast the loss of everything you love? We open Job 3 and sit with the raw ache of a righteous man who wishes he had never been born, yet refuses to curse God. The wager is set: Satan claims devotion is transactional. Job's ashes answer back that love can endure without gifts, that lament can still bow to sovereignty. We walk through the text line by line, naming the pain without sanitizing it. Job imagines death as rest, envies the quiet of kings and infants, and still won't take his life. That distinction matters. We bring theology and psychology together—talking through passive versus active ideation, the weight that trauma lays on the mind, and the honest ways faithful people express sorrow. Along the way, we hold up Christ's agony before the cross as a compass: if the Son grieved righteously, so can we. The heart of the conversation is pastoral and practical, protecting the wounded from shame while inviting them to keep speaking to God when words are hard.We also challenge a common trap: chasing reputation with people instead of standing approved before God. Job's neighbors see failure; God calls him upright. That reversal reframes endurance as courage—choosing obedience when even close voices say to quit. Affliction becomes a forge for holiness, not a verdict of abandonment. By the end, we surface a surprising insight: Job doesn't long to rewind to better days; he imagines un-birth. The grief is that deep, yet it happens inside faith's frame. If you've ever asked why pain lingers or how to keep going when prayer feels heavy, this conversation is for you.Listen, share with someone who's struggling, and leave a review so more people can find hope here. Send us a textWhat if the very suffering that exhausts you is also God's way of keeping you close? We gather around Job's raw questions and discover fresh courage in the truth that he begged for a mediator, and we live with one—Christ, the merciful and faithful High Priest who leads us through the fire and not around it.We start by naming the paradox: grace often arrives dressed as hardship. Romans 5 reframes pain as the pathway to endurance, character, and hope, while Hebrews 2 lifts our eyes to Jesus, the captain of salvation, perfected through sufferings. That language unhooks perseverance from self-effort and anchors it in Christ's steady command. Along the way, we explore Galatians 2:20 and Romans 8:18 to ground identity in union with Christ and to weigh present sorrows against future glory that can't be measured. Personal reflections remind us that worldly wins are vanity next to hearing “Well done.”The conversation turns on a powerful insight about Job's “hedge.” Satan saw protection to be stripped, Job felt a prison he couldn't escape, and God intended preservation through affliction. We unpack how the light within—divine life—helps us interpret pain, and how a hedge of thorns can keep a wandering heart near the Shepherd. Job's sighs, vigilance, and fear meet a sober comfort: God's sovereignty wastes no wound. The call is practical and pastoral—guard your heart, lean on your High Priest, and let worship reshape your horizon. We close with prayer and a simple charge to live what we've learned tomorrow. They are to lead by example, knowing that when the Chief Shepherd appears, they will receive a crown of glory that will never fade. All believers are urged to clothe themselves with humility toward one another because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Peter calls them to cast all their anxieties on God because He cares for them. He warns them to be alert and of sober mind, as the devil prowls like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. They are to resist him, firm in faith. God will restore, strengthen, and establish them after they have suffered for a little while. We are directed to live humbly, placing others above ourselves and trusting that God will lift us up in His perfect timing. As we serve in our roles, whether as church leaders or members, we must feature willing and eager hearts, not for recognition, but to honor Christ. We cast our worries on God because He genuinely cares for us. We remain alert and watchful, knowing that the enemy seeks to discourage and destroy. Yet we do not fear because our faith stands firm in Jesus Christ, our Savior. Even in suffering, we hold on to His promise to always be with us. We find comfort in knowing that God loves us and will guide us safely to eternal glory. Gracious God, thank You for establishing our faithful Shepherd, who loves us so deeply. Help us walk in humility and trust in Your timing for all things. Be with our leaders, who shepherd voluntarily, not seeking their own gain, but bringing honor to Your name. Remind us to cast all our burdens on You, knowing You care for every detail of our lives. Keep us alert and strong in faith when the enemy tries to instill fear or doubt. Strengthen us through every trial and help us keep our eyes set on the return of Jesus and the glory to come. Thought Questions: - What is God's exhortation to the elders of local churches? How can you help them do their work well in the Chief Shepherd's honor? - What does it mean to “clothe yourself with humility”? Why is a humble spirit so crucial to fighting the efforts of Satan? - Is it possible to face suffering as a result of resisting the devil? What has God promised you after you have suffered a little while?

In the twelfth episode of "The Mystery of Seeds," Duane Sheriff teaches on the parable of the sower, explaining the four types of ground where God's Word can be sown and Satan's specific strategies to steal the seed from each type of heart. The wayside ground represents hard-packed soil, similar to how sin hardens our hearts through deception. Satan steals the Word immediately by sowing confusion and lack of understanding. Stony ground refers to those who initially receive God's Word with joy but don't allow it to take root. Satan attacks through tribulation and persecution, leading to offense and causing them to abandon the seed. His primary tactic is to uproot good seed and replace it with bitterness. Thorny ground is choked by the cares of this world. Even powerful seeds cannot produce a fruitful harvest when competing with worries and worldly distractions.Guard your heart against the enemy's tactics by becoming good ground, soil that receives God's Word, takes deep root, and produces an abundant harvest of thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold. The Mystery of Seeds - Duane Sheriff Ministries
The devil wants to isolate you. Everyone is in it for themselves. Pastor Ray Bentley warns us of the loneliness of letting Satan inflow into our lives. So what? The devil's plan for you is to isolate you and to get you away and alone. The gospel, on the other hand, the good news restores us and unites us. It connects us to others.
Pastor Josh McPherson and Pastor Kyle McMullen unpack Josh's new Art of War sermon series on spiritual warfare—why Christians must “wake up to the war,” how Satan schemes against individuals, churches, and nations, and why pastors can't ignore cultural and political battles. What is going on with Islam in our nation right now? They also react to modern fascination with mediums, and why Scripture calls these things spiritual deception, not harmless entertainment.Support the showThanks for listening! Welcome to episode 224 of Grasp the Bible. In this episode, we will study spiritual warfare 101. Key takeaways: Most Americans live as practical atheists when it comes to spiritual warfare—we acknowledge spiritual forces intellectually but live as if only physical forces matter. Lions don't roar when hunting—they roar to terrify prey into panic. Satan often uses intimidation and fear rather than direct attack. Satan seeks total destruction, not just temporary setbacks. Persecution is the roar by which he tries to intimidate believers in the hope that they will capitulate at the prospect of suffering. The world system promises what it cannot provide—lasting satisfaction, security, and significance. Our conquest isn't based on our strength but on Christ's love demonstrated at the cross. I'm burdened when believers tell me, 'I'm not good at memorizing Scripture.' Friend, you're not memorizing for a test—you're loading ammunition for a war. Quotable: Satan roars to paralyze us with fear, but he conquers through the small compromises we tolerate. Application: We don't fight for victory but from victory. Christ has already won; we enforce His victory. Effective spiritual warfare prayer includes: Confession of sin to remove footholds Praise and worship to enthrone God Intercession for others under attack Declaration of God's truth over lies Identify one area where Satan has been gaining ground—write it down, confess it, and ask God to remind you of your victory over it. Pray specifically for other believers under attack. Satan loves isolated Christians. We're stronger together. We're peeking behind the scenes into how God's transfer process works! In Romans 5 and 6 we see the transmission of Adam's primal guilt to us through our "DNA," if you will; the transfer of Jesus' innocence to us through faith; our change from spiritual death to life... and, as we mentioned yesterday, our graduation from being pardoned on paper, to becoming a functional citizen of the Kingdom of God. Every morning you wake up, you step onto a spiritual battlefield. But too many Christians are entering the crossfire unarmed, untrained, and unprepared. We've become a generation of worriers instead of warriors, trading the armor of God for the armor of comfort—and Satan couldn't be happier. This episode is not a self-help talk; it's a spiritual boot camp. We're drawing a line in the sand and exposing worry for what it truly is: a sin. A rebellion against the sovereignty of God. A form of functional atheism that worships the problem instead of the Provider. It's time to stop living as spiritual cowards and start rising as conquerors. It's time to trade anxiety for the full armor of God.Buckle up. This is a call to arms for every believer who's tired of living in fear."For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." – 2 Timothy 1:7Episode Highlights:05:55 - Worry is worship in the wrong direction. When you worry, you're meditating on your fears instead of God's promises. You're magnifying the problem instead of the provider. That's not humility, that's heresy. Because in essence, worry says, "God, I don't believe that you're in control." It's functional atheism.16:48 - A.W. Tozer said it perfectly when he said this quote, "A frightened world needs a fearless church." But instead of fearlessness, many pulpits preach comfort. Instead of calling people to courage, we call them to calm down. Warriors don't need calm. They need conviction.39:42 - That's why the world doesn't need more nice Christians. It needs bold ones. Warriors who will lovingly, firmly, and publicly stand for truth, even when it costs them everything.Connect with Paul M. NeubergerWebsite

In this episode of The Integrated Life Podcast, Diana Romero invites you to reflect on the supremacy of our God — the One who holds all wisdom, all authority, and all presence. You'll see through Scripture how God's power has no equal and how Satan, though deceptive, is limited, defeated, and under God's command. From the fall of Lucifer to the victory of the cross, Diana reveals the truth that every believer needs to remember:

Send us a textWhat if everything that makes you feel secure vanished in a day—would your faith still stand? We sit with Job on the ash heap and confront the hard claim that affection for God must outlive the gifts God gives. From seven days of stunned silence to the first tremors of lament in chapter three, we trace how Job curses the day of his birth without cursing the Lord, and why that distinction matters for anyone walking through deep loss.Together we unpack Satan's accusation that devotion is merely transactional and explore how the story exposes that lie. We connect Job's trial to Hebrews 12, naming what was shaken and removed—children, servants, livestock, wealth, health, status—and what remained unshaken: a God-given faith anchored in reverence. Along the way, we open a christological window on the text, considering how the timeless Son understands suffering and meets us within it. You'll hear candid panel reflections and moving personal testimony that bring the ancient drama into present-tense life.If you've wrestled with premature judgments, hollow comfort, or the fear that honest anguish might dishonor God, this conversation offers a better way. We argue that affliction is the ruler that measures faith, not a verdict of divine abandonment. The goal isn't stoic denial but faithful honesty—bringing pain to God rather than away from Him, trusting that grace holds when explanations don't. Matthew 18:21-22 “Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”A few of the ladies from my prayer group and I attended a bootcamp to teach us about the unbound method of deliverance. Unbound is a method of setting people free from the things that weigh them down. Sometimes we open doors to the enemy in ways we didn't know and Unbound helps us close those doors. There are 5 Keys in the Unbound program. The five keys are: Repenting of sin and expressing faith in Jesus; forgiving oneself and others; renouncing the lies, spirits, and tactics of Satan; taking authority over the works of Satan; receiving the Father's blessing. When you go through an Unbound session you meet with someone and they walk you through each of these keys. In our first night of training we covered an intro and then we learned about the first two keys. The first one was repenting of sin and expressing faith in Jesus. We all sin, it is a part of our daily life, and yet when we sin in hurts our relationship with God. When we sin we are opening a door for the enemy to come in. Repentance for our sins is a big part of our freedom. If we truly want to be free we can't have our sins hanging over us. One way our sins can invite the enemy in is because He will then use that sin to make us ashamed of what we did. Shame is straight from hell, it is not from God. Once we start to feel ashamed then we pull away and we tend to isolate because we feel as though we aren't worthy of anything. Once we repent we bring our sins out of the darkness and into the light and they no longer have hold over us. The second key we talked about is forgiveness. This is the one that left the biggest impression on me. This is the one that I don't think we realize how important it is. I remember when I was at a Bible study and they were talking about forgiveness. We were talking about Matthew 6:14, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” When they said that God forgives us the same way we forgive those who trespass against us I was so surprised. I had no idea what they were talking about. Now, I have been a Catholic for my whole life and this was only about 10 years ago. I have probably said the Our Father prayer more times than I can count and yet I never really put two and two together. Have you ever had a time when you heard something or realized something and it was life changing for you? I can remember two times this has happened for me with scripture. The first one was when I discovered Romans 8:11, “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” When I discovered we have the power of the one who raised Jesus from the dead, the same power Jesus had, that was life changing for me. The second time was when I discovered what I am really saying when I say the Our Father prayer. “Forgive us O Lord as we forgive those who trespass against us.” Did you know that is what you are saying? How many times do you say that prayer, have you said that prayer? If you say the rosary every day you have said it at least 6-5 times daily. When I heard this I was determined to learn how to forgive better. I was determined to not hold things against people. I have done my best to do this. Over the course of the last 10 years have a learned quite a bit about forgiveness in my quest to become better at it. First I learned what forgiveness is and is not. Forgiveness is making a decision that you are no longer going to give the thing that happened any space in your brain anymore. You are not going to think about it and you are not going let it dictate what you do and how you act. Forgiveness is an act of the will, it is not a feeling. You can, not feel like forgiving someone and yet you can still forgive them. You can forgive someone and yet not feel like anything has changed. Forgiveness is not saying the thing that the other person did was ok, it was not. When you forgive you are not letting the other person off the hook and condoning their behavior. Forgiveness is making a decision to turn the judgement over to God. Forgiveness is making a decision that you are no longer going to let the unforgiveness eat you up inside. The person you are refusing to forgive probably has moved on and your unforgiveness is not bothering them at all. The analogy that I have heard time and time again about forgiveness is that it is like taking a little sip of poison every single day with the expectation that the other person will die. I know you are angry, hurt, sad, I am sure you have every right to be and also, as long as you keep thinking about it and refusing to forgive, you can't really heal. I talk to people I know about unforgiveness all the time since learning we will be forgiven as we forgive. I can't help it, I understand what is at stake and I know it is not worth it. Whoever you are refusing to forgive has probably taken enough from you, are you really going to let them take you eternal salvations too? What they did to you, is not forgiving them worth the risk of God not forgiving you? Our teacher on Monday told us about a preacher/minister who had died and found out he was on his way to hell. He said he saw how horrible it was. In hell this man saw another man on all fours on fire from head to toe. He had a collar around his neck attached to a chain and a demon was holding the chain. Our teacher told us that this man went to hell because he had unforgiveness in his heart. I was curious to hear the exact story so I looked it up online. I will put a link to the article in the show notes. It turns out is was a priest who had a heart attack and must have flatlined at some point. CLICK HERE for the article. Here is what priest said, "I thought I was going upward because I thought I had done so much good in this lifetime trying to help so many people and made so many decisions that were godly decisions, but as opposed to me going up, I went down.” This priest was very angry as he said he did so much good in his lifetime. Then he said he saw Jesus and Jesus gave him a personal message. "He said, 'You have been secretly upset with the people who have hurt you. You had been hoping that I would punish the people that hurt you. These are not your people. These are my people.' He said, 'I only want you to focus on the assignment I am giving you.' The priest explains, “Although I did good, the thing I had in my heart was the unforgiveness to the people who wronged me. A person that can't forgive is a person that has forgotten how much they have been forgiven of.”This example is probably not what we want to hear. I know it scared me when I heard it and yet we must hear it. We have to know what will keep us from spending eternity with our Father. This is why God sends people to share these messages with us. Mary gave the little children of Fatima an image of hell and told them that more people than we know are ending up there. Forgiveness is not easy, I know that. I know that I don't understand some of the things that have happened to you. I know people can be terrible and they do terrible things. If you are struggling to forgive I ask you to review what forgiveness is and is not again. You don't have to forgive and forget. You don't have to forgive the person and invite them over for Christmas. It is perfectly ok to forgive the person and never see them again, never tell them you forgave them, never talk to them again. Forgiveness is for you, it is not for them. The last line the priest said really hit me. “A person that can't forgive is a person that has forgotten how much they have been forgiven of.” What if all the people we wronged refused to forgive us? What if God held original sin against us and refused to forgive us? What if he refused to send His only son to save us? Forgiveness is so much more important than we think it is. I know so many people who are refusing to forgive because they say the other person doesn't deserve forgiveness. You might be right and also, forgiveness is about them, it is about you. It is about setting yourself free from the spirit of unforgiveness. Unforgiveness can block so much from the Lord. It can block healing, it can block graces, it can block your forgiveness from the Lord. Is it really worth it?I want to take a minute to add some hope to this episode as if you are harboring unforgiveness it might be very scary to think of the consequences. You might have had some truly terrible things done to you and you want the Lord to forgive you and yet you have no idea where to even begin forgiving the other person or people. Here is the thing, the Lord doesn't expect you to forgive on your own. We can't actually forgive on our own. All we can do is say, yes Lord, I want to forgive, and the Lord can change your heart for you. If you are at a point right now where you really can't even say, Lord, I want to forgive, please help me, that's ok, the Lord meets us where we are at. Can you say I want to want to forgive? Can you say, Jesus, can you give me the grace to want to want to forgive? If so, Jesus will help you get to that point and then you can move to actually forgiving. My teacher told a story about a woman who was doing an Unbound session and the woman who she was working with refused to forgive her sister. Well, this is the first key, you can't move on to the rest of the keys if you can't first get through forgiveness. The woman was adamant that she would not forgive or even pray for her sister. The woman leading the session asked if she would be able to ask Jesus to help her want to want to forgive. She said yes and she asked Jesus. She said ok, now she wanted to want forgive, but she still couldn't forgive. The leader asked her if she would be willing to do 1% of the work to forgive if Jesus could do the other 99%. She said she thought she might be able to do that and so she forgave her sister 1% and Jesus did the rest. Remember, forgiveness is an act of the will, it is not a feeling. She might not have felt any different after she forgave her sister that 1% but she was willing to do it. God will meet you where you are at too! If all you can say right now is, “Lord please give me the grace to want to want to want to forgive.” That's ok, just say it. God is the one who does the forgiving. We just need to say the words and God does all the hard parts. God is asking us to let Him in, to not refuse to let Him work on any area of us. Can we do that? Can we give God even a tiny little crack of a window where He can come in and transform our heart? Don't let the unforgiveness of what others did dictate the level of forgiveness you get from God. Haven't then done enough, don't let them continue to have an effect on your life and definitely not your eternity.Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless all those listening to this episode today. Lord, today's topic was a hard one. I ask you to open people's hearts and minds and let them hear the word that you want them to hear. Holy Spirit I ask you to convict each person listening to this of any unforgiveness that they may have so we can all work to forgive. Sometimes our unforgiveness is hidden and so we ask for you to show us any areas we need to forgive in Lord. We say yes to you coming in and helping us forgive. We say yes to you forgiving us as we forgive others. We say yes to loving your children as you love them. We love you Lord and we are sorry for closing you out and not letting you heal our hearts by guarding them with unforgiveness. We need your help Lord and we are so grateful you always come when we call. We ask all of this in accordance with your will and in Jesus' holy name, Amen.Thank you so much for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus. I look forward to meeting you hear again on Monday. Remember, Jesus loves you, and so do I! Today, Pastor Jack teaches that when God comes upon us, He does so by the Holy Spirit. Our enemy, Satan, tries to fight this, and wants to leave us weak and without influence. But, when the Holy Spirit is at work in our lives, we become effective, powerful, and victorious in our calling.

As we draw near to the end of the Gospel of Luke, Fr. Mike briefly expands on the story of the poor widow's offering, emphasizing that the Lord cares more about the size of our hearts than about the size of our gifts. Fr. Mike also underscores Jesus' moving words to Peter when he foretells Peter's denial. Jesus' words remind us that no matter how fiercely the enemy tries to attack us, he is always praying for each and every one of us. Today's readings are Luke 20-22:38 and Proverbs 26:17-19.
