If you are interested in the Daily Bible Devotional, you can find it at the links below:Amazon - (paperback, hardcover, and Kindle)Spiritbuilding.com - (premium quality paperback)YouTube Video Introducing the ContentFeel free to reach out with any questions: emersonk78@me.comI Thessalonians 4Believers are urged to continue living lives that please God, remaining active and always seeking to excel still more! Paul emphasizes the importance of living in a way that reflects their calling, especially regarding purity, warning them to avoid sexual immorality and to honor God with their bodies. He encourages them to love one another even more and to lead peaceful, hardworking lives so that their daily behavior will earn the respect of outsiders. He then offers comfort about those who have died, assuring the Thessalonians that believers who have fallen asleep in Christ will be raised when Jesus returns. Paul reminds them to grieve with hope, for when Christ comes again, all believers—both living and dead—will be gathered to Him forever. This is a tremendous source of comfort.  We must ask ourselves if we are truly growing in holiness and love. We cannot be content with remaining where we are spiritually; we are called to move forward, striving to honor God in every part of our lives. We must fight against temptation and refuse to let the world draw us into sexual immorality and greed. Our love for others must extend beyond comfort, reaching into genuine acts of service, kindness, and self-sacrifice. We are also called to live quietly, work with purpose, and build respect through our daily choices. As we wait for Christ's return, we must live intentionally, so that our faith and eternal hope are not just beliefs, but what we openly display to the world. Worthy Lord, thank You for calling us to live lives that are pleasing to You. Help us to walk in holiness, guarding our hearts and bodies from sin and honoring You in our daily choices. Teach us to love one another more deeply, showing kindness, patience, and forgiveness. Strengthen us to live quietly, work faithfully, and reflect Your goodness in all we do. When we grieve, remind us of our hope in Jesus' return and the promise of eternal life with You. Shape our lives to be a witness to the world and keep our hearts longing for Christ's coming. Thought Questions: What does it mean to possess your vessel, your body, with honor? Why is it essential to flee immorality and pursue purity in all things? Is a life well-lived if someone loves others, serves Jesus, works hard, and pursues a quiet life? Why do people often seek so much more? Why do Christians not grieve as the world does when faithful family or friends die? Will you also give this kind of peace to your loved ones?

Discover how Ezra's story speaks into our lives today. In this episode, we'll see how God provides everything we need in Christ, why we're called to live as His temple, and how to stand firm when opposition comes our way.Themes of this podcast: God provides everything needed for relationship. In Ezra 3, the people required a king, a high priest, and an altar to restore their relationship with God. Today, we find all three fulfilled in Jesus Christ. He is our eternal King, High Priest, and once-for-all sacrifice. This theme reminds us that we don't have to strive for complicated requirements. Our relationship with God rests securely in Him alone. Our lives are living temples. The rebuilding of the altar and Temple was central to Israel's restoration. For Christians today, Paul teaches that we are God's Temple. Just as Israel carefully laid the foundation for worship, we are called to build and maintain strong spiritual foundations in our own lives through prayer, Scripture, and faithful community.Expect and overcome opposition. Ezra's story shows that doing God's work is never free from opposition. The exiles faced delays, lies, and political roadblocks. In our modern world, opposition often comes through distractions, discouragement, or cultural pressures. We can learn to recognize lies, reject compromise, and remain steadfast in Christ.Show notes:BlogFeasts and FestivalsLeviticus Offerings Chart Map of Mount Moriah and the templeVideo tour of the Temple Mount and the dome of the Rock exterior on Mount MoriahVideo of the inside of the Dome of the RockPicture of the Rock inside the domeWe love feedback, but can't reply without your email address. I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Rev. Hunt Priest, an Episcopal priest who openly shares how psilocybin (magic mushrooms) transformed his faith and ministry. Hunt took part in a groundbreaking Johns Hopkins/NYU study where clergy explored psychedelics, and the experience reshaped and reinvigorated his spiritual life. In our conversation, Hunt shares how partaking in the study expanded his understanding of Christianity, deepened his relationship with God, and challenged him to rethink how the church approaches healing. For Hunt, psychedelics became not just an altered state of consciousness, but a doorway into mystical experience, emotional wholeness, and spiritual renewal. Out of that calling, he founded Ligare - a Christian Psychedelic Society. Through education, retreats, and spiritual direction, Hunt and his team are creating supportive communities for Christians to wrestle with big questions: How can psychedelics help us heal? What role do they play in faith today? And what does it mean for the church to reclaim its historic role in health and wholeness? I invite you to listen to this fascinating conversation, where we explore theological history, modern science, and the intersections of mental health, psychedelics and spirituality. And now I give you, Hunt Priest.   Connect with Brian: YouTube: @BrianBeckcomPodcast Instagram: @lessonsfromleaderswithbb Facebook: @LessonsWithBB X: @BrianBeckcom TikTok: @BrianBeckcomLawyer

Taylor Standridge, production manager at FaithFi, is passionate about creating engaging content that makes an impact for the Kingdom of God. Taylor developed a love for radio in his early years which grew into a passion to see more Christian programming on radio and podcasting platforms. Today, Taylor has an extensive background in radio and media production, as well as a seminary degree from Dallas Theological Seminary which combines to create and deliver deeply impactful content, particularly in the generosity space.   As production manager, Taylor walks through the Faith and Finance radio program and podcast from beginning to end, as well as their one-minute program on 1900 signals across the nation, to share the message of God as our ultimate treasure. He's a frequent content creator for the FaithFi team and has much wisdom to share on many topics surrounding faith, generosity, and personal finance.   Major Topics Include: Taylor's discoveries about wealth in the Scriptures Approaching investing through a theological lens  Viewing every dollar as an opportunity to be generous A biblical view of eternal reward The “my value is in my money” identity crisis Practical steps for aligning your finances with the Kingdom Knowing God through Scripture for Kingdom-aligned financial decisions QUOTES TO REMEMBER “When it comes to managing money God's way, it's not just attaching a Bible verse to a financial principle and calling it biblical. But it's looking deeply at the story of the Bible and finding out what it has to say about money and how we relate to it.”  “I approach everything that comes through our accounts as belonging to the Lord and everything is an opportunity to be generous.” “We often think of eternal rewards as being merit based, but when we look at how God speaks about obedience in Scripture we realize that obedience is not our gift back to God, it's actually God's gift to us.” “It is God's grace that enables us to obey Him.” “If our ultimate treasure is not God Himself and we're more excited about what we'll get from Him, I think we're still fundamentally making the same mistake as worshiping money instead of Him.” “When we get to Heaven, I think we'll find that we didn't sacrifice at all, we simply let go of what was not eternal.” “God is our treasure. We utilize everything else as a tool to accomplish His purposes.” “Money promises us everything that God does, but doesn't deliver on any of them.” “If we realize that our ultimate value is in God, we don't see our money or assets as indicative of our value. But we recognize that we're so valuable that God Himself died on a cross for us.” “God doesn't need us, but He chooses to involve us in His work.” “I don't think you can understand God's heart for the world until you know God's story.” “Debt obligates you to the past and prevents you from opportunity for the future.” “Peace-of-mind and security should never come from money.” “Financial security is a feeling because God knows my needs more intimately than I do. And if He can feed people with manna from Heaven, I think I'll be fine.” “There's currently 22 trillion dollars worth of assets managed by Christians in this country. Christians here have tremendous influence and opportunity to make God known.” LINKS FROM THE SHOW FaithFi FaithFi Podcast and Radio Program Kingdom Advisors (see our interview with founder, Ron Blue) Insight for Living More than Money Podcast with Art Rainer Ronald Blue and Co., CPA (see our interview with founder, Ron Blue) Eternal Perspective Ministries (see our interview with founder, Randy Alcorn) The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey Simple Money, Rich Life by Bob Lotich Undue Medical Debt The Finish Line Community Facebook Group The Finish Line Community LinkedIn Group BIBLE REFERENCES FROM THE SHOW Proverbs 13:22a | A Lasting Inheritance   A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children,   Malachi 3:10 | Put Me to the Test   Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. I always keep a copy in my pocket, and I share it with people who are curious about our standards. It has been updated and refreshed to better cope with the challenges and temptations of our day. The new version of For the Strength of Youth is available online in 50 different languages and will also be available in print. It will be a significant help for making choices in your life. Please embrace it as your own and share it with your friends. This new version of For the Strength of Youth is subtitled A Guide for Making Choices. To be very clear, the best guide you can possibly have for making choices is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the strength of youth. So the purpose of For the Strength of Youth is to point you to Him. It teaches you eternal truths of His restored gospel—truths about who you are, who He is, and what you can accomplish with His strength. It teaches you how to make righteous choices based on those eternal truths.13 It's also important to know what For the Strength of Youth does not do. It doesn't make decisions for you. It doesn't give you a “yes” or “no” about every choice you might ever face. For the Strength of Youth focuses on the foundation for your choices. It focuses on values, principles, and doctrine instead of every specific behavior. The Lord, through His prophets, has always been guiding us in that direction. He is pleading with us to “increase [our] spiritual capacity to receive revelation.”14 He is inviting us to “hear Him.”15 He is calling us to follow Him in higher and holier ways.16 And we are learning in a similar way every week in Come, Follow Me.   American Conservative University Podcast (ACU) is not an official representative for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Romans 7:6 — What does it mean to be in the Spirit? In this sermon on Romans 7:6 titled “In the Spirit or in the Flesh?” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones shares that it means the Christian lives in a totally new way than before. He says that to be in the Spirit is to live in Christ and renewed daily in His power. He contrasts the new life with the old life of sin and bondage under the law. The law was good, but because of human sin and depravity, it brought only condemnation. Jesus is better than the law. Jesus died for His people and makes them new creatures in Christ if they believe in His gospel. Jesus brings commandments that are not burdensome, but rather they are freeing. The glory of this new life is in living in the Holy Spirit as children of God. Christians are no longer slaves to sin and immorality. The most important question then is how does one live this life? The answer is by believing in the gospel of Christ, and in His death, burial, and resurrection as the only means of salvation and peace with God. This message is the only way of true peace and joy with God.

To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/603/29

Gender identity, the origin of the universe, the sanctity of life, the cry for justice—the debate seems endless. If there ever was a time for Christians to understand and communicate God's truth about controversial and polarizing issues, it is now. Believers must develop convictions based on research, reason, and biblical truth. In this series, Avoiding Confusion, we will discover what the Bible has to say about the challenges we face and how we can communicate our convictions with love and respect.

This message unpacks what it truly means to be a Christian—more than a title, it is a supernatural encounter with God that brings new birth, repentance, and transformation from within. Through Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus, we see that to follow Christ is to be born of the Spirit, given a new heart, and made alive to God's kingdom. Christians belong to Christ, living as people of His kingdom, which is not political or geographical but spiritual and present wherever Jesus reigns in hearts. The name “Christian” should reflect holiness, devotion, and Christlikeness, as our lives bear witness to the reality of God's rule within us. ______________________________________________________________________________________ NEW HERE? Are you all in for Jesus, or are you still playing it safe? In this episode of The Uncommon Christian Podcast, we dive into what it really means to live with full faith—no backup plans, no half-hearted commitment. And let’s be real—too many Christians today are living unstable lives because they haven’t decided if they’re all in or not in at all. James 1:6-8 warns us about being double-minded, and Jesus makes it clear in Revelation 3:16 that lukewarm faith isn’t an option. Using biblical examples like Peter and Elisha, we’ll challenge you to step out, stay focused, and surrender completely. If you’re ready to burn the plow and never look back, this episode is for you. In this episode, we’re exposing lukewarm faith and breaking down: 1- Why God doesn’t accept halfway commitment (Revelation 3:16) 2-The danger of divided loyalty in your walk with Christ 3-How Peter and Elisha went ALL IN—and why you should too Three steps to finally go all in for Jesus If you’ve been playing it safe, it’s time to burn the backup plan and step into bold obedience. Jesus didn’t die for lukewarm faith. He died to make you bold. Listen now & become the Uncommon Christian you were called to be!

Dr. Yousaf Sadiq was born into a Christian family in Pakistan. He will share how his ancestors came to faith in Christ in India out of Hinduism. While his parents never had the opportunity to go to school and learn to read and write, Yousaf shares how they saw education as a privilege. His mother worked as a cleaner at a local school so that Yousaf and some of his ten siblings would have an opportunity to be educated. In the evenings, he would help his mother clean the school where he was a student during the day. Despite their deep poverty, Yousaf gratefully recounts how his family's needs were always met. Today Yousaf is a professor at Wheaton College and co-leader of the Lausanne Persecuted Church Initiative. He remembers how his parents invested time and energy in training their children to walk with the Lord, and how they led by example. “There was a strong training and guidance by our parents,” Yousaf said, “They would wake up early in the morning to pray, showing us that prayer was vital.” Yousaf also shares what it looks like to live in Pakistan as a Christian. There are many pressures within the society, but Yousaf understood at a young age that Christian persecution is part of following Christ. “I felt not only strengthened but also privileged that this was happening,” he says. Martyn Lloyd-Jones Sermon Podcast

Romans 7:6 — What makes Christians different from others is that they have been granted a new mind and new desires by the Holy Spirit. This new life in Christ puts believers in a new relationship to the law of Moses as now the law is written upon the heart of every believer. This creates a heart of worship that is not focused on the externals of religious acts, but on the orientation of the heart. True worship flows out of a heart renewed and freed from the curse of the law and the power of sin and flesh. In this sermon on Romans 7:6 titled “Life in the Spirit,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones is emphatic that this new relationship to the law does not bring about antinomianism since all of God's commands are good and just. It means that Christ fulfilled the law and gives believers a new heart that has new desires. The end of the law is not a license to live in sin but it comes with the joy and privilege of seeking to love God and neighbor out of the new person that Christ Jesus is fashioning all believers to be. Sanctification cannot be separated from salvation and glorification because Christ Jesus is the one who begins and completes salvation.

Unable to endure the uncertainty any longer, he sends Timothy to strengthen and encourage their faith, especially as they face trials. Paul reminds them that suffering is part of following Christ and that he had warned them about upcoming hardships. When Timothy returns with good news about their strong faith and love, Paul is filled with joy and thanksgiving. Their perseverance comforts him in his own struggles. Paul earnestly prays for the chance to see them again and help strengthen their faith even more. He asks God to make their love overflow for one another and for all people, and to establish their hearts blameless in holiness before Christ at His coming, who will return with all His saints in glory. Christians are reminded that we are called to strengthen and encourage one another in faith, especially during times of trial and mistreatment. We are not meant to face hardships alone; God has placed us in a community to build each other up. Like Paul, we should care deeply about the spiritual growth of others, praying faithfully for them. When we hear of others standing strong in their faith, it should fill us with joy and inspire us to persevere as well. We must also ask God to increase our love for one another and for all people. As we wait for Christ's return, we should seek to live holy lives, letting God establish our hearts in steadfast faith and sincere love. Marvelous God, we thank You for the faith You have planted in our yearning hearts and the strength You provide through every trial in life. Help us encourage one another and be a source of hope to those who are struggling. Grow our love for each other and for all people, just as You have loved us. We will strive to focus our hearts on holiness and keep ourselves blameless as we wait for the return of Jesus. Fill us with joy in seeing faith grow in others, and teach us to pray with persistence and trust.  Thought Questions: Who in your life encourages you to live by faith and is always a spiritual support for you? How can you show gratitude to them for their help? Temptation is especially strong in times of stress and trial. What do you do in those times to draw close to God and reject the lures of the devil? Christians are called to “increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people.” How are you reaching new and higher levels of love?

On September 10th Charlie Kirk was killed in broad daylight on a college campus in Utah by the alleged assassin Tyler Robinson. Another casualty of the woke war on the West. An insidious revolt that many Christians have a hard time wrapping their minds around, which is why this edition of Hank Unplugged is dedicated to summarizing the issue at hand in memorable fashion via the word W–O–K–E.   “W” representing the word Worldview. Students, particularly in the West, are being propagandized by a WOKE WORLDVIEW. Charlie Kirk was committed to dismantling the absurdities of this paradigm in polite and principled public discussion.   “O” will serve to remind us of the word “Oppression.” The woke West seems intractably bent on taking the Marxist oppressor/oppressed maxim to unthinkable extremes. Their objective is to liberate an entire generation from such perceived oppressions as cis-gender normativity, and from the oppression of what is perceived to be arbitrary moral law.   “K” — I use the letter “K” to emblazon upon our collective consciousness that Kids — your kids, my kids, are a primary target of leftist woke revolutionaries. Charlie Kirk recognized this reality and, as such, became the enticing target for an assassin's bullet.   “E” serves to remind you and me of Extremism. Extremism in Education, Environmentalism, and in Entertainment.   The murder of Charlie Kirk is emblematic of the woke worldview war being waged against you, your children, and against the very soul of Western Civilization. Charlie Kirk, may your memory be eternal.  For more information on the WOKE Worldview, please see “The War on Western Civilization: Everything You Need to Know about the Cult of Wokeism“. https://www.equip.org/product/special-issue-of-the-christian-research-journal-titled-the-war-on-western-civilization-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-cult-of-wokeism/ Listen to Hank's podcast and follow Hank off the grid where he is joined by some of the brightest minds discussing topics you care about. Read Online“Whoever has ears to hear ought to hear.” Luke 8:8This short line is, in a sense, a summary of the Parable of the Sower. This parable presents us with four different ways in which the Word of God is received. The seed that is sown is the Word of God. The four different categories of people are compared to seed sown on a path, rocky ground, among thorns and in good soil.Jesus explains that the seed sown on the path are those “who have heard, but the Devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts.” The seed sown on rocky ground are those who “receive the word with joy, but they have no root; they believe only for a time and fall away in time of temptation.” The seed sown among thorns are those who have heard the Word and received it, but over time they are “choked by the anxieties and riches and pleasures of life, and they fail to produce mature fruit.” Finally, those who are like rich soil are those who heard the Word and “embrace it with a generous and good heart, and bear fruit through perseverance.”As you look at those categories of people, where do you fall? Most likely, for those who pray daily and try to follow our Lord, one of the last two categories is where they fall. Note that for those who are like seed sown in the thorns and those sown in rich soil, fruit is born from the Word of God. In other words, their lives do change and they do make a difference in the world on account of God's holy Word and presence in their lives. The difference, however, is that those who struggle with “the anxieties and riches and pleasures of life” will fail to produce “mature fruit.” This is a good teaching for faithful Christians to ponder. When you look at your life, what sort of fruit do you see? The “fruit” of which our Lord speaks can be identified with the fruits of the Spirit: charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, forbearance, gentleness, faith, modesty, self-control, and chastity. Thus, if you want to discern whether you are more like one who bears mature fruit vs. immature fruit, look at those holy qualities carefully. How “mature” are each of these fruits of the Spirit alive in your life? They make a wonderful examination of conscience for those looking to go deeper than just the Ten Commandments or Seven Capital Sins. If these good fruits are born from your life in a truly mature way, you should be able to see how they affect others through you. For example, how has your kindness, patience, faith and self-control helped others in their Christian walk? Reflect, today, upon the fruits of the Spirit. Review them carefully and prayerfully as you examine your own life. Where you see them in abundance, rejoice and give thanks, and work to foster their growth. Where you see them lacking, rejoice also in that insight and consider the reason they are lacking. Are there worldly anxieties, desires for riches or pleasures that hinder their growth? Seek to be that truly rich soil, and our Lord will indeed bring forth much good fruit in you and through you. My divine Sower, You sow the perfect seeds of Your Word in abundance. Please help me to open my heart to receive that Word so that an abundance of good fruit can be born. Please free me from the anxieties and deceptions of life so that I can hear clearly Your holy Word and nurture that Word in my heart. I rejoice, dear Lord, in all that You have and continue to do in and through me.
