Christopher, AKA “Chase” Carey spent 20 years in Corporate America holding executive and leadership positions in the Health Insurance and Consulting industries. As early as 1998 Chase was trying to bring mindfulness and meditation to the workplace. But the corporate world wasn't ready yet, so Chase embarked on his own journey of discovery, studying extensively with The Monroe Institute in Virginia where he remains an active member of their Professional Division. He also trained with Harvey Grady of the Center for Human Potential, and Drunvalo Melchizadek and other remarkable teachers. Through this, Chase developed a unique model for the understanding and elimination of fears that underlie stress, and the practice of something he calls Personal Self Integration where he utilizes a meditative technique to help people dialogue with their subconscious mind to make permanent, positive change in their lives. Chase is also a blackbelt in taekwondo and has written three books, on mindfulness, meditation and the application of martial arts philosophy into various aspects of modern life. His clients include the US Army, nursing organizations, national Insurance companies, engineering firms, and a major university business school. Chase joined me for our chat from his home outside of Atlanta Georgia. https://www.chasingmindfulness.com

Chase Carey has been CEO and Executive Chairman of Formula 1 for the last four years, and it’s fair to say he’s been busy in that time. New rules – including F1’s first ever budget cap - have been crafted, a new governance structure has been negotiated, and new races have joined the calendar – and that’s before you consider having to navigate through a global pandemic. On this week’s show – the 100th episode proper – Chase discusses all of the above, as well as discussing Stefano Domenicali’s impending arrival and what he learned from working alongside Rupert Murdoch…
After a week away we’re back - and Sochi once again did not fail to delivery a boring race.Chase Carey is leaving Formula Management and will be replaced as President and CEO by Stefano Dominicali - and the teams are ok with that decision.None of the drivers want reverse grid races…But the teams (and at least some drivers) are interested in the idea of bringing new (old) tracks back into the calendar.Romain Grosjean is making plans if he loses his seat at Haas - and Haas says that they’re not sure Sergio Perez is the right driver for them.Copying in F1 - yup, still going on…Drivers have to keep their race suits zipped up at the end of the race, and Lewis is very upset over his penalties this weekend - and we don’t agree. Finally - the Pink Panthers will not be returning for 2021.

Rebuilding an international race calendar through Covid | New tracks, new formats, a new future | The next set of challenges major rights holders face. Episode 95 of the Leaders Sport Business Podcast - brought to you in partnership with Onside Law - features a conversation with Formula 1's Global Director of Promoters and Business Relations Chloe Targett-Adams (discussion starts at 11.50). Having joined the global motorsports series in 2009 as a senior legal counsel, Targett-Adams has been a key part of both the 'old' and 'new' leadership teams at Formula 1. She worked closely with former CEO Bernie Ecclestone, and is now a driving force within the executive team, led by CEO Chase Carey, set up by Liberty Media, which completed its $4.4 billion acquisition of Formula 1 in 2017. Targett-Adams is responsible for building and maintaining Formula 1's relationships with its race promoters and the government jurisdictions within which they sit. When Formula 1 was forced to break down then rebuild its season following the outbreak of the pandemic, it fell to Targett-Adams and her team to piece together a race calendar that would meet FIA specifications, hit revenue-unlocking contractual obligations, keep promoters and governments onside, and maintain safety and security. On the conversational agenda: - The remarkable feat of rebuilding the calendar into a workable 17-race, international schedule; - The stresses, strains, challenges and pitfalls along the way, and the stakeholder tensions in play; - New circuits, new formats, and the chances of taking both forward into the future; - The return to 'normal' in 2021; - What good leadership has looked like in 2020; - The F1 of 2009 vs the F1 of now - a modern organisational overhaul for a 21st Century company.
Helmets off to Liberty Media for delivering these radical changes despite the challenges thrown by the ongoing pandemic. And of course, it's great that all 10 teams will continue in the sport till at least 2025. In this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast (https://link.chtbl.com/ilf1p) , Mithila and Kunal talk about Mercedes' debrief videos on social media - do rival teams use them for educational purposes? Also, what's the purpose of Ferrari's 'hourglass challenge' videos? Lando Norris needs to host a 'champagne popping masterclass' - others are failing miserably while trying to replicate his trick. Btw, Ecclestone offered an interesting insight on why he paid Ferrari a higher sum than the others 10:00-15:00 - The machines played it safe with the AWS fastest Formula 1 driver ranking by getting the top-3 rankings right.

See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Yup, we did a show this week - we’re under a stay at home order here, so what else were we going to do?The good news is that we actually have F1 things to talk about too -Chase Carey sends an apology to fans - but not for what we think he should be apologizing forA Pirelli team member tested positive for Covid-19, but with the exception of the one team member who tested positive at McLaren, everybody else from McLaren has been cleared.Lewis Hamilton says that even though he came in close contact with idris Elba and Sophie Trudeau - he is healthy and is now outside of the risk period for infection. In other news - Red Bull intended to protest Mercedes’ DAS system if it has been run in FP1Despite leading the initial outcry - Mercedes is now stepping back from their objections to the private Ferrari/FIA engine settlement.F1’s summer break has been moved up and extended so that races could be scheduled over the normal summer break period - but no word on how the shut down will impact efforts by the F1 teams to produce ventilators.Monaco is the first (or maybe the second depending on what’s going on with Melbourne) race to officially be cancelled. All races though and including Baku are now officially postponed - with the first race looking to be France now.The 2021 rules are also being postponed and should now be known as the 2022 rules - but McLaren will still shift to Mercedes power in 2021 as previously scheduled. And F1 has rolled out their own “virtual series” and no, its not what we originally thought it would be.

Max Verstappen's been having fun - more so in his media briefings than his Red Bull Racing car; especially in the races after the summer break. But could his latest 'Ferrari are cheating' comment cost him a potential drive with the Scuderia in the future? Let's hope the young Dutch prodigy doesn't lock himself out from global car manufacturers who spend millions on their Motorsport programs world over. It's too early to forget Fernando Alonso and the learnings from his mistakes. The second story we talk about is the possibility of Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari in the future. After all, could he target what the great Michael Schumacher attempted to do and failed? The dream of winning a Formula 1 World Championship title with the two giants of the sport - Ferrari and Mercedes. Also in this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we wonder if Sebastian Vettel will trigger the next big changes in the driver silly season. Why is Jacques Villeneuve always so anti-Williams? We discuss Formula 1's socialist approach - the financial regulations and why they could be good for the entire ecosystem. Chase Carey's target of having at least 7 teams challenge for race wins under the new regulations and all the noise around Renault's possible exit from Formula 1. How many times have they quit Formula 1 only to re-join after a few seasons? Tune in! Lewis Hamilton's making sense on and off track, while Toto Wolff insists that he's not eyeing the post of F1's CEO. Could a Wolff vs. Hamilton battle be in the offing? Politically speaking, Hamilton would be way ahead in the polls; his 5-point agenda makes complete sense. Will there be more personalities interested in replacing Chase Carey when the time comes? In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we talk about the Rich Energy-Haas fiasco, why Romain Grosjean shouldn't be involved in deciding the rules for 2021, how Mclaren are pulling one masterstroke after the other and how fans world over will be experiencing the greatest sporting weekend of 2019. Formula 1 unanimously decided to defer the announcement of its 2021 regulations till October this year. The WEC announced their 'hyper car' regulations from 2021 just a few days ago. Basically, everyone is leading fans to believe that 2021 is the year when Motorsport will undergo a revolution. In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast (http://bit.ly/ilf1ponkf1b) , we talk of the possible headlines you will still read come 2021. What else could Mercedes do to prove their superiority as a Formula 1 team? If RIC & HUL had wet dreams of a Ferrari power unit in their Renault car when Fiat Chrysler was talking up Renault and finally, will Formula 1 teams hire 'gladiators' instead of drivers for 2021? Tune in! (Season 2019, Episode 23) Here's what's in store for you in this episode: 0:00-3:00: 5 headlines we could still read come the 2021 Formula 1 Season. Also, how Christian Horner pulled off a massive stunt to prove why he should replace Chase Carey (if at all) 3:00-6:00: Formula 1 teams to hire gladiators come 2021? 6:00-9:00: Mercedes are controlling Formula 1, alleged Helmut Marko. In een zeer speciale nieuwe aflevering van F1 Aan Tafel bespreken Chase Carey, Alain Prost, Alexander Wurz, Valtteri Bottas, David Coulthard, Olav Mol, Jack Plooij, Rob Steltman en presentator René Hoogterp alle details rondom de terugkeer van de Nederlandse Grand Prix in 2020 op Zandvoort.
Picture this: Formula 1 is a country; its fans (all of us!) are its citizens. This would make Chase Carey its Head of State and the teams and drivers the government functionaries - working hard to deliver a good championship fight. In all of this, is Formula 1 overselling its agenda and plans for 2021? Is Carey sounding like the politician who is asking its citizens to sacrifice today and be patient for a better tomorrow (2021), even as he comes up for re-election (contract renewal)? No, we've not gone bonkers and this is why you should tune in to this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast. Also in this episode, why being Mr. Nice Guy won't make the cut for Sebastian Vettel but how even the FIA is trolling the supposed championship contender, Bernie Ecclestone's public admission of being wrong, how the Toto Wolff for Formula 1 CEO came about and if Flavio Briatore will run for President too. And finally, do you really believe Max Verstappen when he says that he isn't the 'number 1' driver in Red Bull? Tune in! (Season 2019, Episode 18) Here's what's in store for you in this episode: 0:00-3:00: Is Formula 1 overselling its agenda for 2021? Will Formula 1 actually be better then? 3:00-6:00: Toto Wolff as Formula 1's CEO? But what if Liberty Media just renew Carey's contract? Could Flavio Briatore apply for this post too? 6:00-9:00: Did you hear, Bernie Ecclestone just publicly admitted that he was wrong!! 9:00-12:00: Sebastian Vettel is Mr. Nice Guy - but that doesn't seem to matter to anyone whatsoever! Btw, even the FIA's joke is on Vettel. Yes, you heard this here first 12:00-15:00: Max Verstappen actually said that he isn't the number #1 driver in Red Bull, much like Lance Stroll's blamed bad luck for his eight consecutive Q1 exits 15:00-end: Moments in Time with Lucien + predictions for P7!

Yes, we are still celebrating Kimi Raikkonen's victory from last Sunday. But that's how it should be with Raikkonen's wins - they don't come as often, so when they do, one better celebrate it in true Raikkonen style ;-) In this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we reveal what Ferrari need to do to motivate Raikkonen to deliver as Raikkonen should. And no, this doesn't include the 'champagne on the podium' mantra. Btw, after years of needing to replace Raikkonen, are Ferrari actually replacing him at the worst possible time? Daniel Ricciardo has set his sights on the World Championship for 2021. But it might not be with Renault - his contract is till only 2020! Finally, someone go remind Chase Carey that Lewis Hamilton WILL win his 5th Formula 1 World Championship this Sunday. Tune in! Here's what's in store for you in this week's episode: 0:00 - 03:00: We are still celebrating a RAI win! Episode 74 of the Motorsport101 Podcast is a Superbowl special, as Andre Harrison, Ryan King and RJ O'Connell talked Superbowl 51 as the New England Patriots triumphed, as well as segwaying beautifully into Chase Carey's plans to have 21 of them on the F1 calendar! It's been long two weeks since our last show - but we're back! The 2016 IndyCar season has wrapped up - and we know what Alexander Rossi will be doing in 2017 (hint - it won't be in Formula 1), and another team has decided to throw their lot in with Honda based on past partnerships and not current performance. Which not sure what that leaves him. Maurizio Arrivabene got in trouble in Singapore - or did he? Monisha Keltenbourne disappoints Patricia - again... Malaysia was a great race - that Patricia missed... And we still have a title race on our hands....
Much like Chase Carey's moustache, inundated requests for a sneaky peak mean the Norfolk Formula One Podcast crew's Malaysian Grand Prix preview is a little on the curtailed side this week - but there is still time for a few predictions ahead of the action in Sepang. And feel free to make yours with a tweet to @theNRF1 on Twitter.
It's the Singapore Grand Prix episode! But Cheeka, Phill and Terry are more interested in Liberty Media's takeover of F1, Apple's alleged takeover of McLaren and Channel 4's takeover of the Great British Bake Off. Also, Chase Carey's moustache, and lizard talk.
It's all tea and biscuits in the Pitpass podcast following the Singapore Grand Prix, an event that saw Nico Rosberg and Daniel Ricciardo's grandstand finish overshadowed by a lizard and a moustache. Chris Balfe is once again joined in the studio by Mat Coch and Max Noble, the three probing and prodding at all of the fleshy bits from the Singapore weekend. There's of course talk about Nico Rosberg and Daniel Ricciardo's dash for cash at the end of the race, and a discussion on Balfe's innovative biscuit based race rating system. This year's Marina Bay encounter netted an eight butterscotch rating, though we've no idea if that's good or bad or if Chris just got hungry mid-race. Never one to shy away from the big issues the team also tackles the difficult subject of people on race tracks, though at Singapore that doesn't seem a particular challenge given a lizard a drunk and a marshal have all enjoyed unique views of the event in recent times. There is though a serious side to their debate given there were severe safety problems over the weekend, some emanating from race control but others from the drivers themselves as they chose to believe those yellow flags marshals were waving were just their nostalgic support for the Jordan Grand Prix team. That causes Coch to lose his rag and brand the lot of them amateurs - clearly he wasn't a Jordan fan. Ferrari and McLaren get a mention, as does Williams though Valtteri Bottas is politely asked to ensure his seatbelt is securely fastened throughout the duration of the show. It was a bumpy weekend for Haas too, with Romain Grosjean's moaning almost of Lewis Hamilton (who has been on the backfoot all season, even while winning six races in seven) proportions. However there was on topic from which there was no escaping, and one which Nigel Mansell will perhaps be glad finally raised its head. For the first time in decades the Best Moustache in Formula One Award has left his mantelpiece and has been whisked across to the office of Chase Carey with minimal fanfare. Carey was of course on a meet and greet mission and shook hands and had conversations all weekend. So too did Bernie, and one suspects that may be the first glimpse of Liberty Media's new commercial strategy for the sport; the ultimate in reality TV shows as it follows the sports powerbrokers to decide who has the best handshake and small talk. Exactly what Liberty's involvement will be remains unclear of course, that's the way Bernie tends to try and keep things wherever possible, but Balfe in particular isn't sold on the idea. It's probably because he hasn't got any shares. PS, Don't worry Nige, you've still got the best eyebrows.
With Jenson Button’s help we’ve cracked the perfect idea to bring younger audiences to F1 races – install Pokemon Go monsters at every Grand Prix! Maybe they’re already working on this and decided to live test in Singapore on the perfect target audience, Max Verstappen. Yes, we are referring to the ‘Godzilla’ on track. Although, this novel idea of ours may lead to more jaywalkers on track - like the marshal in Singapore (but seriously, shouldn't the FIA be penalised for this incident?)! After encountering the Hulk at the start of the race on Sunday, young Verstappen did have the perfect teenager of a weekend. Nico Rosberg won in Singapore, but the race went down to the wire. In an attempt to bring Lewis Hamilton back on the podium, did Mercedes jeopardize Rosberg’s win? What if the situations were reversed? There'd be carnage! It was also Rosberg’s 200th Formula One start – and another driver’s 300th, tune in to find out who. As the Drivers’ Championship battle continues, we're not taking sides yet - 6 races or nearly 1/3rd of the season yet remaining. But Ferrari, what were they thinking? Or were they thinking at all? After being butted off the podium, maybe Kimi Raikkonen tipped the Singapore cops about Maurizio Arrivabene’s cigarette butt, we think. Ferrari praised Raikkonen’s race as a ‘World Champion’ effort, but they didn’t act like a World Champion team. We’d not blame them though; it’s been nearly a decade since their last crown. While we missed Raikkonen’s uncomfortable waving on the podium and the mumbling, the Iceman did get some overtaking practice in Singapore along with some opportunity for to play his radio classics. We thank Red Bull Racing for allowing us to enjoy the Max Verstappen vs. Daniil Kvyat battle on-track without issuing team orders. Although, we were almost certain to hear back a ‘NO’ had they instructed Kvyat to move over. In some ways, did this ‘personal’ battle help Kvyat get some closure on the unceremonious demotion? Let’s hope so. And of course, thank you to Red Bull Racing for livening up the last 14 laps of the race with a well though of tyre strategy for Daniel Ricciardo, who is increasingly becoming our choice for the ‘Driver of the Season’ and should’ve won ‘Driver of the Day’ in Singapore. We are impressed by Niki Lauda’s humour, top marks for his comeback to Max Verstappen on their ongoing “psychiatrist” banter. A new but expected power struggle seems to be brewing in Formula 1 between Bernie Eccelstone and Chase Carey, which way will things go? Carey’s biggest short-term task will be to retain Fernando Alonso after 2017. In the meanwhile, we’re happy to enjoy some hilarious jokes at Mr. Chase Carey’s expense. Are we the first ones to do so? NASCAR has named a race ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,’ will Formula 1 ever get so cool? And if it ever thinks of doing so, let’s call the Singapore Grand Prix night race the ‘The Dark Night’! Finally, we congratulate Alex Zanardi, a true champion and remember one of our greatest - Keep Fighting Michael! Tune in!
