Smart Agency Masterclass with Jason Swenk: Podcast for Digital Marketing Agencies
Is the fear of failure holding you back from taking the first steps to establish your brand? Are you hesitating to start a podcast because you believe it would only be worthwhile if it garners millions of downloads? Our guest today is a true trailblazer in the podcast industry, having successfully built a thriving agency around his initial decision to create a show dedicated to entrepreneurs. Tune in for an insightful conversation on the power of pushing boundaries and the value of trying new things in the ever-evolving world of podcasting and entrepreneurship. Pat Flynn is the serial entrepreneur and podcasting pioneer behind Smart Passive Income, a massive podcast with a long history of teaching entrepreneurs proven strategies to run and optimize their businesses. He's also the founder SPI Media, an agency that helps people launch and grow their brands. Pat's podcast was actually the inspiration for the Smart Agency Masterclass podcast and now he joins Jason to discuss the importance of taking risks and embracing failure as part of the learning process. In this episode, we'll discuss: What's holding people back from starting a podcast? Mastering the podcasting game. 3 key principles for brand success. Letting go to grow: lessons on delegating. Navigating the Evolution of Your Brand and Business Just like Pat has inspired so many entrepreneurs, he was inspired by the Internet Business Mastery to start his own podcast in 2007. The result was so terrible he never released that episode and it took over a year for him to gather the courage to try again. After finally releasing his first episode in 2010, he's started several other podcasts and has amassed around 80 million downloads and a massive following. Much has changed since he chose Smart Passive Income as the name for his brand and “passive income” has recently gained some negative connotations due to influencers promoting the idea of making money without putting in even 1% of the work. As a result, some big brands are hesitant to partner with a business associated with the term. Of course, this is not what Pat teaches in his content, and, although he is now referring to it as just SPI, a rebrand is probably in the future to welcome as many opportunities as possible. Currently, Pat is running a business with 11 employees, which is something he never would've thought he'd do. Back when he started his business, he dreamt of running a very lean operation working exclusively with contractors. As the years went by, however, Pat felt a calling to help as many people as possible and he needed to bring the very best talent to the business to help him realize that. Once he had a team, especially his partner and CEO who took over project management and finances, Pat was able to focus on his zone of genius, doing interviews, building relationships, and going to events. Focusing Too Much on the Numbers: The Misconception Holding People Back from Podcasting For Pat, the number one reason people refrain from starting a podcast is the fear of wasting time. Things have changed a lot since he started and now it has become such a saturated space that he can't blame people for thinking theirs may just get lost in the multitude of new releases each day. Pat challenges agency owners to ask themselves, how many more clients do you need to make a positive impact in your business? Could a podcast help you close more business by attracting potential clients who wouldn't otherwise find your agency? If the answer is yes, he suggests tailoring podcast episodes to appeal to potential clients and help them feel at ease about engaging with the agency. In this sense, a podcast would provide the opportunity to define a much deeper relationship with your prospects than you would with a simple YouTube video. It's quite a powerful connection you can create with a podcast with the way you as the host can become someone's companion as they travel, walk their dog, or just go about their lives. Mastering the Podcasting Game: Strategies for Building a Successful Podcast When it comes to creating a successful podcast that resonates with a wide audience, having a clear vision and set goals is crucial. Merely hoping for a stroke of luck after posting your podcast episodes will likely lead to disappointment and frustration. Therefore, Pat suggests starting with a well-defined purpose and message. Additionally, he recommends seeking assistance with the editing process early on. Podcasting is a lot of work, from planning to recording and editing and you may end up feeling exhausted, potentially discouraging you from creating content consistently. Lean into the parts of the process you enjoy the most, which will probably be the planning and creating connections, and you'll start to see those connections lead to relationships and introductions to people who can open more doors. Don't lose sight of the benefits a podcast can truly bring to your business. This can happen when you focus exclusively on the numbers and get easily discouraged by low viewership numbers. Instead, focus on how an interview can lead to other opportunities; for instance, interviewing an industry leader can lead to being invited as a speaker to their event. Furthermore, it'll allow you to pick their brain and position yourself as an industry expert just by having that connection with them. Pro tip: Before he had his current numbers, Pat was able to get big interviews with figures like Gary Vaynerchuck by timing them just as they were releasing a new book. If you're looking to get big names, this is when they are far more likely to take every interview opportunity they can to promote their work. Humanizing Your Brand in the AI Era A lot of people hesitate on whether or not they should create a personal brand. Pat believes that with the surge of AI, having a brand now becomes even more important. With everyone using AI and automating processes, a personal brand means creating a way for people to connect with you, to create a connection that is just not possible with faceless corporations and automated response systems. In this sense, he also emphasizes the need to understand what a personal brand is and what it can offer. Basically, you'll need to have a clear idea of what you stand for, what are your values, and how the work you do reflects that. People want to connect with others who share the same values, which means that not putting yourself out there will make you a human AI no one can relate to. 3 Key Principles for Brand Success Back in 08, when he recorded that first podcast that never saw the light of day, Pat could've never imagined the evolution of his brand and the level of success he's seen over the years. Like most people, he was afraid of failure and thought he was unprepared to venture into the entrepreneurial world. With time, he's discovered experience would be the best teacher and the importance of solving a problem, which is why his guiding principles formed over years in the industry are: Worry about failing as fast as you can: Pat cautions agency owners against letting perfectionism lead to getting stuck. “The riskiest thing you can do now is play it safe. Bold actions lead to bold results.” Playing it safe can actually prevent you from adapting to changes and trying new things because what worked in the past may not work in the present. To progress and grow, one must be willing to take risks and try new approaches. Serving first: Focusing on solving a problem for others and providing value will help you build trust, loyalty, and ultimately, financial success. For Pat, this emphasizes the idea your earnings are a byproduct of how well you're serving your audience. Consider this rather than solely focusing on making money. Building community: Pat believes in the power of connection and belonging, which he fosters at his agency by creating safe spaces for his clients to come together. It's not only about finding an audience or how well you serve your audience. It's also about getting your people to find each other. Strengthening the bond between agency and clients will help future-proof your brand by creating a loyal and engaged community. Partnerships, Delegation, and Prioritization in Agency Leadership Pat's partnership with his now friend and CEO was the leverage he needed to start to transition away from the parts of the business he least enjoyed. Looking back, he realizes he was holding himself and the business back by not letting go sooner. It was not easy for him, as he sometimes regressed to try to get too involved and micromanage the team. To him, it's like holding on to a ladder that takes you to a certain height while trying to climb a new one that will take you higher. In the end, as long as there's open communication and a shared vision between partners, it's okay to let go and not fear that the agency will get off track. Additionally, Pat underlines there's no immediate need to train someone as CEO to have that kind of support. You may just need a business manager, which is a common struggle for agency owners. For those grappling with where to direct their attention and energy, Pat recommends delineating personal and business priorities. "If you haven't sat down with yourself, your partner, or your team to define your priorities, you'll feel busy while getting nowhere. Once you do, things will start to align," he advises. You work hard every week to create your podcast. Don't let that work go to waste. By repurposing your content, you can do the work once and benefit again and again. Many podcasters struggle to grow their audience. When they publish an episode, the share it with their email list and their social media following. Those people already know you and rarely share your content. To grow your audience, you need to get in front of people who aren't aware of you. Getting your listeners to share your content is a very powerful way to do that. WORK-OF-MOUTH Studies show that the number one way people discover new podcasts is through word-of-mouth. They hear somebody mention the podcast and decide to try it out. When I first heard about Pat Flynn and Smart Passive Income, I didn't listen. Then I heard the show mentioned by Dave Jackson at School of Podcasting. It was mentioned on Internet Business Mastery. Then I heard Pat mentioned on Dan Miller's podcast 48 Days to the Work You Love. That's when I decided to give Smart Passive Income a listen. People I trusted were mentioning it. If you want people to talk about your show, do something work mentioning. Then, make it easy for them to talk about you. That can be accomplished by creating small bites they can share. But, don't create more content. Start repurposing your content that you've already created. REPURPOSING CONTENT There are three modes people can consume content. Those three modes are audio, visual and the written word. Different people prefer different modes. Therefore, give them options. Begin by recording your podcast on video. This will give you the most flexibility when it comes to sharing your content. Now, import the video into your audio editing software. Use the audio for your podcast. Your podcast helps build relationships. Take the video and post it on YouTube. This will help you get discovered when people search for your topic. Finally, take the show notes and turn them into a blog post. This will help Google find your website. It also provides those who prefer the written word to scan the text and consume the content. BITE-SIZED Now, take those full pieces of content and split it into small chunks to begin repurposing your content even more. There are a variety of tools you can use to create these bite-sized chunks. Take small video clips to share on social media. Follow it up with a call to action to either get them on your email list or back to your podcast. Use pieces of the show notes for quote cards and posts on social media. Snippets of the audio can be turned into audiograms. It is really easy when you have the right tools. However, you can also delegate the creation of these pieces to someone else. My Podcast Profits Concierge program will produce all of this for you. We edit your audio and post it. We edit your video and post it. You also get full show notes that are uploaded to your website. To help you share the pieces, we create a quote card, a captioned social media video, and an audiogram. You get a blog header image and YouTube thumbnail. You simply need to show up and perform. You can see it all at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/editing. THE TOOLS If you would like to do it yourself, you need the right tools for repurposing your content. For my 400th episode, I've reached out to 7 of my favorite podcasters to share the strategy they use to grow their business. THE BEGINNING This podcast actually started as a blog. After writing for a few months, Dave Jackson from School of Podcasting reached out. Dave is an amazing, generous expert in the podcasting space. I had listened to many of his episodes and knew what he was all about. One Saturday afternoon in 2013, Dave and I jumped on the phone. He told me he saw my stuff on the New Media Expo blog and liked what I was offering. Over the next hour, Dave and I talked about our past, what we were doing online and our visions for the future. We realized there were many ways we could help each other. At one point, Dave asked why I didn't have a podcast. Great question. Podcasters would probably be more interested in listening to a podcast rather than reading a blog. So, I pivoted. On that call, I decided I would launch my own show to help podcasters improve their content and give them more confidence in their show. The first episode of Podcast Talent Coach was published on July 19, 2013. I'd love to say I've published a show every week since. But, that's not the case. I've had plenty of battles with Impostor Syndrome and motivation. There was one summer early on when I wasn't sure I was on the right path. No new episodes were published for a few months. I finally got back on track and have been publishing fresh content ever since. INTERVIEWS Most episodes of the show have been solo shows. Just me sharing information to help you transform your information into entertainment. On Episode 100, I had the first voice on my podcast that wasn't mine. That episode featured other podcasters asking questions. Episode 204 featured my first pseudo-interview. It was actually a coaching sessing with Tony Muckleroy of Jeep Talk Show. This actually became one of my most popular episodes. Probably because Tony is so great. My first real interview happened on Episode 276. Zoe Routh joined us to talk about the ways she uses her podcast to grow her business. Over the years, I've interviewed a few other experts. But, most of my episodes are still solo shows. Teaching has been my strategy. This may change in the future. After 400 episodes, I'm starting to feel the itch to talk to others. That's the great thing about podcasting. It's your show. You can do anything you'd like. You make the rules. We'll see how things go. I just want to thank you for being on the ride with me. GROW YOUR BUSINESS On this episode, 7 of my favorite podcasters will share their strategy to use their podcast to grow their business. DAN MILLER When I first started my online journey, I started following Dan Miller. He is the best selling author of 48 Days To The Work You Love. He hosts the 48 Days podcast as well. I discovered Dan through Dave Ramsey. The year isn't so clear, but I believe the first product I purchased from Dan came in 2011. Here is Dan sharing how his strategy to use his podcast to drive his business. Thanks, Dan. Find Dan Miller at https://www.48days.com/listen/. DAVE JACKSON As I mentioned, Dave Jackson was instrumental in the creation of this podcast. He and I also host the Podcast Review Show together. You can find that at https://www.podcastreviewshow.com. Dave also uses his show to drive his business. Thanks, Dave. You can find Dave Jackson at https://schoolofpodcasting.com/episodes/. JON FUGLER While growing my business, I discovered Internet Business Mastery. While in that group, I met Jon Fugler. Jon wanted to start a mastermind and was looking for members. I took him up on the invitation. On February 18, 2017, I was sitting in the parking lot of the ice rink on the campus of Iowa State University. My son was there for a tournament. This was our first mastermind call. Over the years, our mastermind had a variety of members. But, Jon and I have been consistent since that first call. Jon has radio experience just like me. He played college baseball as did his boys. At the time, Jon was running Recruit Me to help students land college sports scholarships without hiring an advisor. He has a great story of getting out of that business and into his faith. Here is Jon. Thanks a ton, Jon. You can find Jon Fugler at https://www.freshfaith247.com. MARC MAWHINNEY There always comes a time when you realize you don't know what you don't know. That's when you need a coach. That came for me in March of 2019. Marc Mawhinney runs the Coaching Jungle Facebook Group. He hosts the Natural Born Coaches podcast and is an amazing coach. I discovered Marc while working through a program to improve my sales. One of the instructors in that course recommended Marc. I joined his group, listened to his show and hired him as my coach. Here is Marc's strategy to drive his business with is podcast. Thanks, Marc. You can find Marc Mawhinney at https://www.naturalborncoaches.com/episodes/ MIKE VAN PELT Mike Van Pelt and I connected in 48 Days Eagles with Dan Miller. I helped Mike launch his True Man podcast. Mike has a huge heart and helps men with his coaching. Here is Mike sharing his strategy to grow his business. Thanks, Mike. You can find Mike Van Pelt at http://truemanpodcast.com/. MICHAEL GRIFFITHS I am always looking for great ways to grow your audience and business. While working with Marc Mawhinney, I started pursuing joint venture partnerships. The power of partnerships is amazing. Referrals are also an amazing way to get in front of your ideal customers. One day on Marc's podcast, I heard Michael Griffiths. He is the founder of Referral Marketing Guru and hosts the Get More Referrals Today podcast. As a referral expert, of course Michael uses his podcast to build relationships. You can find Michael Grittiths at https://www.referralmarketingguru.com.au JIM PADILLA Now that I have build my courses and coaching programs, I need help creating a selling process. Cheddar Chasers is a podcast all about exactly what the title says... CHASING the cheddar. But we as CHASERS aren't defined by the success. No, we are defined by how we LOVE to chase success. If it's starting a business, or starting a side hustle you are going to work your ass off and chase that next level of success. And what is success you may ask? That's a great question and that's what will be discussed with each of our guests because each and every one of us has a different view on what exactly success is.
A Review of the Last 6 Years with Kevin Appleby & Graham Arrowsmith After 6 years of podcasting, Graham and Kevin decided to review what they'd achieved in this milestone 300th episode. Prior to the podcast in our way, we agreed to discuss 3 things that have been good for us and 3 things that have not been so good during that time. And not just for the podcast, but for our businesses too. Kevin pays homage to Internet Business Mastery Without both Kevin and I listening to the Internet Business Mastery podcast, we would not have even met, let alone start a podcast. The presenters of this popular show, have both been guests on The Next 100 Days. Here are the links to their shows with us. Jeremy Frandsen - #100 Lifestyle Design Jason Van Orden - #223 Thought Leadership Kevin Blames Internet Business Mastery for Making it Sound Too Easy! Kevin was in determined mood. On his list of didn't go so well, they were at the top of his negative list too! http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Kevin-Internet-Business-Mastery-Podcast.mp4 Kevin relented! Jeremy and Jason brought us together. Kevin also got to know another previous two-time guest - Russell Thackeray too. Additionally, for Kevin, he is also forging a business relationship with Dan Wells in their Grow CFO business. Strengths of The Next 100 Days Podcast Another review point Kevin makes is that our consistency in producing episodes helps us attract guests. Many of our guests introduce themselves to us through the APPLICATION form on this website! Graham pointed out that many of our guests are ex-corporate, probably running their own businesses and like to have fun. They don't take themselves too seriously! http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Strengths-of-The-Next-100-Days-Podcast.mp4 But is The Next 100 Days Podcast TOO GENERAL? Kevin pointed out that we have been a generalist podcast. In this way, has it been both success and failure. Success in that we have brought so many very interesting guests, covering a wide arc of topics. But could we have done better, by being highly focused on one or two markets? We are not niche. If we provide a service for everyone, you are providing a show for no-one. Kevin made the point that his Grow CFO shows grown quickly because it is focused on a small audience. It is relevant to them. Graham made the point that in the next 100 days, in a business context, topics could be virtually anything. It's Difficult to Scale a Podcast http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Kevin-Diffcult-to-Scale-a-Podcast.mp4 The lesson to be learned is be clear about WHY you want to do it and to WHOM will you provide the service to. Accurate Thinking Graham made the case that when the podcast was being first thought of, both Kevin and Graham were probably not displaying Accurate Thinking. http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Graham-Accurate-Thinking.mp4 In Renegade Millionaire, Dan Kennedy uses accurate as in "knowing facts you may not want to know". For Graham, delegation has been a negative. Recently, we used a photo without permission and that cost Kevin and Graham. Graham cited a legal agreement that he probably ought not to have entered, and with better accurate thinking he would have avoided. So, with both staffing issues and contracts, accurate thinking - delving into the facts you mat not want to know, a better outcome would have been possible. Fail Fast, Fail Forward Kevin mentions how he has achieved results through people. Especially with his involvement with GrowCFO. Dan Wells and Kevin brought complementary skills. Then they needed mentoring. After that they transformed their website with a person focused on their website. Graham notes he needs to refresh his website, so he wants to get his website updated. Kevin said Finely Fettled's website is purely being used as a lead generation tool. It is.

As I mentioned recently, I sold my home and gentleman's farm. What triggered me to sell my "dream" home? Lifestyle design. I always wanted to try the gentleman's farm, but with a big modern home. I did, done. I also wanted to pair down Internet Business Mastery and instead of having 10 huge funnels going and a bunch of employees and a bunch of tasks to do constantly, I pared it down to an email a day and ONE full-time employee. Simplify and minimalism is the lifestyle I'm trying now. This is GREAT news for you. This is why I put ALL over our courses and bonuses into the Freedom club and I only charge $1 a day for it ALL. Lifestyle design. The other part of my recent lifestyle design is starting a new business. Keep in mind, I don't suggest you create more than ONE business when you start out. It's taken me over 13 years to finally start another business. The structure of this new business is all about simplicity. I already did complicated. Internet Business Mastery got BIG and complicated. Jason and I flew all over the world to speak, we had a bunch of people working for us, and my life was like 85% business. Then, it was time to do some lifestyle design again. I wanted to talk to you daily and start a new business. Done. Lifestyle design is how you gain control. Control in a different way than ever. No one teaches this like I do, no one. If you don't get the lifestyle design right, you might end up in a business you HATE. Imagine that, you actually succeed and HATE your business. That happened to me with the business I built BEFORE Internet Business Mastery. I built that business with no knowledge of how business works, so I ended up creating it in a way that it need me to work more and MORE as it got more successful. It got successful and I found myself working 12-16 hours a day, everyday. Yep, even weekends. Constantly. I hated that business because I wanted freedom, not slavery to my own business! That’s where lifestyle design came in. I studied everything I could about designing a life I truly wanted to live. The first part of the Freedom Club is all about lifestyle design. You have to design the future ahead of time, so you aren't enslaved by your business. You have to build a lifestyle that is perfect for YOU. It’s critical and it's ready for you to check out right now. Don't be one of the sad group business owners that create a business they end up hating. That was the last thing my last boss ever said to me just over 13 years ago. I don't know if he meant to be cliche, it was Hollywood, but he sure was. I was excited to go on the adventure of learning how to start a business and the moment did feel a bit like a movie, but I couldn't believe he said it. "You'll never work in this town again!" I had just quit so I could go start a business. I felt like I couldn't go any further unless I went on this quest. You didn't quit the job you worked that hard to get. I was one of the youngest guys to get THAT job at Warner Brothers movie studio and I can't imagine anyone ever quit that highly coveted job before. I did. I had to. My boss was astonished when I said I quit. He just stood there staring at me. His brow furrowed and he slowly started shaking his head as if to say, you can't do this. Then he blurted it out. "You'll never work in this town again!" Thus ending the 'working for the man' era of my life. He was right, though, I have never worked in Hollywood since. What I have done is dedicate my life to helping others and I was able to make a 7 figure business doing it. Instead of being a Hollywood faceless minion, I helped 1000's of people with my first online business and over 10,000 people with Internet Business Mastery, including the brand new Freedom Club. I have one more business I'm starting, not in the start an internet business space, but I'm still going to follow the step by step plan laid out in the Freedom Club (with some new additions I'm going to talk about in the private, 'for members only' Facebook Mastermind group. I have recently hit just over 100 emails written since I started writing daily emails for Internet Business Mastery. Recently a friend of mine asked me about these daily emails. She asked, "Is it hard coming up with what to write every single day?" At the time I said, "No, not at all." But this morning it happened. I woke up a few minutes ago, excited to write to you but no subject came to mind. I was actually a bit shocked. Usually I have 2-3 things I could write and I have to just choose one and make a note of the others for days like this. I have a huge mindmap of things to write about, so I went to that and nothing stood out as something I wanted to talk about. I sat there a moment and thought... What advice would I give to someone that feels stuck? I'd normally say, just start. Take action. Even if it doesn't seem like much, do something. So I did, I wrote about having hit over 100 emails. I kept writing until I finished the email in one pass and made this podcast for you. Don't know what freedom business you want to create? Don't know what niche you want to go in? Don't know what audience you want to create value for? Don't know how to use social media to draw traffic to you? Don't know how to create a website? Don't know what product to make or how to make it? No problem, just take action. All of the issues that are stopping you can be solved by joining the Freedom Club, even believing you don't have the $1 a day investment to join is handled inside. When I had decided absolutely to start a freedom business a strange thing happened. I learned about the Value Cycle, (entire video discussing what it is and how to use it is in the Freedom Club), and it lit my mind on fire! I went from having NO ideas on what niche to go into or products or anything specific to 1000's of ideas. It's like the act of deciding I was going to do it FOR SURE turned on something in me. At first, I really liked it. I was a business idea generator. 1000's of business ideas. 1000's of different avatars I wanted to help. 1000's product idea's I had so many business ideas it was hard to sleep. It actually became a bit of a burden. I didn't know which idea I should focus my time on. At first, I decided to pick about 5 businesses and give them all a shot, which I did. It was chaos. Couple 5 businesses with FOMO (fear of missing out) on all the shiny and new techniques the big-wig goo roos were tempting me with so they could make more dollars and I was making very little progress in ANY of my business. This actually went on for years until I ended up in a very special local mastermind group. There was only 5 of us and we'd meet once, sometimes twice a month. Every time we'd meet we'd all get a turn chatting about our businesses, what worked, what didn't work, and what we needed help on. There were some big hitters in the group, but one specifically taught me a very important lesson. We'll call him "Mike". Mike had a big business. Mike was making about 1 million dollars a month, no joke. Mike didn't say too much, but when he did it was usually life altering. One time, I was blathering on about several problems I was having in several of my businesses. I realized that the Mike didn't really say anything after I blathered on and on and I made a mental note to talk to in after, which I did. I asked him what he thought about my general issues with business and if he had any advice. He said my main problem was that I couldn't say the most magic and important word in business… NO. He said I’d make as much money as he does from saying no to everything except what will help his ONE audience the most and that makes him the most money. That's it. One business, one issue. That changed everything for me. I started learning to say no. One of the 5 business I had was Internet Business Mastery and it was a "whenever we get around to it" business. I talked to my business partner, Jason, and we decided to say no to everything else and just focus. That one act changed our future. We doubled our profits each year for the next 4 years (and had nice steady growth for years after) all by saying NO to everything but what would help our audience most. No. No. NO. No really comes down to focus, learning about the Value Cycle, and picking one audience to help. Building a business around that is what changed everything for me. If you're ready to learn about all three you can do it right now here: http://www.JoinFreedomClub.com Jeremy Frandsen World Leader in Freedom Business Education

I first met Pat Flynn in 2009 when I moved down to San Diego to live on the beach. I mentioned I was moving down there in our Academy forums, (it's the older version of the Freedom Club Facebook Mastermind Group.) I put together a San Diego LIVE meet up and that is where I first met Pat. He had just started my course and was very excited. I didn't notice anything different about him in that first meeting, but I ended up getting to know him very well over the next 18 months. During that time quite a few things happened. My Academy forum exploded and there was more activity than I could handle. Pat had gone through our course and started helping me respond to the multitude of questions happening in my forum, so I invited him to be a moderator. He agreed. We had lunch not long after that and I found out that he had followed my course advice and had already made $7000. We talked about his business and I gave him 2 pieces of advice, as a test. About a month later I started a mastermind group for the San Diego area. I invited 2 students to join us and Pat was one of them. The group would go to lunch and then go play frisbee golf by the ocean. During lunch, Pat said he had taken both pieces of my advice and was able to double his money from the last time we met. He said he was making $14,000 a month. I was astounded and he passed the test. I gave business advice all the time and almost no one had ever actually taken it, especially that fast. I had given friend's advice, family advice, and other members of my course advice. Pat was the first to actually put my direct advice into action. We continued the mastermind group for several months and I watched Pat's business grow. He was doing very well with the course I asked him if he would like to work with me on Internet Business Mastery, which would require we meet weekly and I'd teach him in return. He agreed. I really got to know Pat well during this time and several things about him stood out. The first was that he took fast action. When we met the first time, I gave him 2 pieces of advice. He went home after our lunch and did the two things right away. He didn't wait till later or when the time was right or when he felt like it or when the moon was aligned with Saturn, he did it ASAP. The second was that he actually followed my course, step by step. He didn't skip around or add stuff from someone else, he actually took the course exactly as it was meant to be taken. He took fast action and actually followed the instructions on the course step by step. At first glance, it might seem simple and no big deal, but it is HUGE. Almost nobody does it like that. He is now reaping the benefits of these simple actions. Last time I checked, his site says he made $148,006.06 a month. That is the kind of money he makes now because of those two actions. The bad thing was that he sucked at frisbee golf! Luckily, frisbee golf was just something to do while we all talked about business. Take fast action and follow the course step by step... Are you ready the be the next Pat Flynn? Check out the freedom club at http://www.FreedomClubVIP.com I can’t wait to see you on the inside!

I recently asked my future Freedom Club members, why they didn't buy when I opened the doors to freedom paradise. I got a lot of questions, many of them the same, so I'm going to group them and answer them here. I'm going to be a little briefer as I have to get my chickens all taken care of before the big storm that is supposed to hit this afternoon. (In case you didn't know, I bought a 2 acre Gentleman's Farm in a beautiful, secret valley about a year ago. It was just one of the things I wanted to try, I really enjoy it. Thanks freedom business!) Anyways, let's get to the questions. My comments will follow. ********* "I would have joined the Freedom Club, but I didn't have the money." --Well ya, that can be a problem. I find that most people don't have money problems, they have priority problems. If starting a freedom business isn't a priority, it'll always be pushed back to the "maybe someday" category. When I started I sold my car so my wife and I shared a car. I moved from expensive Los Angeles to a tiny, cheap suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah. I turned off cable, stopped going out to eat so much, and anything else "extra" that wasn't helping me achieve my dream. I knew I had to invest in my dream and actually do the daily steps needed to make it happen. It paid off big, but anything of value has costs and not just money... ********* "I know there are a bunch of courses and bonuses in the Freedom Club, but are they going to be dripped out one at a time over a bunch of months, like most membership sites?" --No. The Freedom Club 10 main courses packed into 3 phases. Phase One: Make your first $500 online (on the side) Phase Two: Replace Your Income and Quit Your Job! Phase Three: Build a 7-Figure Business! There are also a bunch of bonuses, that are laser focused to go deeper on several subjects, and a handful of separate action guides. You can see everything included here: http://www.FreedomClubVIP.com Everything is there and ready for you RIGHT NOW. ********* "I've been listening to you and Jason for years and I was wondering, where is Jason?" --A couple of years ago we hired a CEO to run Internet Business Mastery, so that we could finally start pursuing other projects. Jason and I created all of the 10 courses in the Freedom Club together, but I decided to take on the joy of writing this daily blog post. I REALLY like writing them. I might even like it more than the podcast! BLASPHEMY! Jason is here, behind the scenes, and on the podcast. Though he now has more time to do other things, as do I. ********* "I have no idea what business I want to create and I have no niche ideas in mind, so I don't know if I'm ready to start" --The Freedom Club was designed especially for you. We have an entire course about finding your niche. 12 years of deep dive knowledge to make sure you can finish with the niche you'll use to create your business around. This is the number one concern most people have when they start, so of course, we put everything we know into it! The club has what you need. ********* "Is this just a get rich quick scheme?" --No. There is no such thing as "getting rich quick". It took over 12 years of work and testing (and retesting) and over 10,000 students to create the 10 full courses that are included in the Freedom Club. You will actually have to take small steps every day to get your desired freedom. If you don't, you don't get it. There are no get rich quick schemes that work and are legal... Thankfully, I've never fallen for one of those schemes and I suggest you do what I did and other successful people did; follow a plan that actually worked for others and work that plan every day. ********* "I'm a little more advanced, I already have my niche and a blog and even a product, is the Freedom Club still something that will be of value to me?"

As I am about to start a new business my mind drifted back thinking about how I originally started this business, Internet Business Mastery. I made a ton of mistakes. I'm going to list a few of them in hopes you can learn from my past ignorance and then I'm going to give you the plan that finally made it all work. As I said, I made a ton of mistakes. I didn't choose my mentors wisely, I picked who ever was most seen and was putting out the most info. I got on over 30 emails lists and I buried myself in beginner information and I let it go on for far too long. I let my fear stop me for far too long. When I finally started, I started a bunch of businesses. I tried mashing all the different business plans and advice into a Frankenstein hybrid business. I picked the wrong business model and one of my businesses actually became successful, which made it so I had to work at least 12 hours a day, seven days a week. I ended up hating that business and business model. I kept starting different projects, but never finishing them. I could go on and on, but there is a little taste. Now I'm going to tell what finally started working. I learned it from a guy in the first group mastermind I was in. This guy made over 1 million dollars a month with his business. 1 MILLION DOLLARS A MONTH! I told him all the problems I was having and I asked him why he didn't have the same problems and here is what he said he did: He understood the power of ONE. ONE BUSINESS He choose to work on one business at a time. He said he'd get it to a place where he was happy with the money and then he'd just hire a CEO to run it exactly the way he did. ONE MENTOR He choose one mentor at a time to take advice from. He said they had to have been doing whatever they were teaching successfully for more than 7 years and he didn't want to hear about fads. No fads in business plans and no fads in traffic generation and no fads in sales and marketing. Just fundamentals. He said the power of one was how he was able to get his business to 1 million dollars a month. I decided to take his advice and everything changed for me after that. I stopped building businesses and I focused on one business, this one. Internet Business Mastery double in size and profit each year for the next four years in a row. At 10 years in business we hired a CEO to take over all the day to day operations. That was 3 years ago. Don't make my mistakes. Instead focus on the power of ONE. One Business. One Mentor. http://www.FreedomClubVIP.com Jeremy Frandsen World Leader in Freedom Business Education

BTW, this episode if from a daily email I wrote in May of 2017: So, this week is moving week for me. A couple months ago I decided to make some huge life changes and this week I leave "the ordinary world" and I enter "the special world" of the Hero's Journey that author Joseph Campbell talks a lot about. I'm leaving my 6000 square foot home in a secret valley to move into a 1200 square foot apartment in the city in order to train for the first level of my new adventure. I've spent the last 2 months selling my house and donating 90% of my stuff. I'm going after a dream I've had since I was 19 and it's going to take everything I've learned and experienced to make it work. I believe that when you have a dream, you give your all towards achieving it. I believed it and went after it when I left my 6 figure career 14 years ago and ended up starting Internet Business Mastery and now it's time to do it again. Nothing is going to change with Internet Business Mastery. I'll still be doing these daily episodes and looking in on the winners masterminding in the Freedom Club Facebook Mastermind group, as always. BUT, I'll also be starting the business I conceived 27 years ago and didn't have any earthly idea how to start. I do now, so I'm giving my all, embracing change like a lover, all in order to encourage success in this new venture. I not only teach this stuff, I live it. You have this desire too. I know it. That is why you're here listening to my show. You don't have to sell everything and give up your past in order to make it happen, just get the guts to join the Freedom Club and set aside some time everyday. It can be just 30 minutes a day. I'm embarrassed to admit this, but there was a time I didn't know that just anyone could start a business! It's strange to think of now when nearly all my friends are self-made business owners, but I really had no idea. I was so focused on ambitiously climbing the corporate ladder and proud of being in a little office rather than a cubicle, I just had no idea how businesses were started and who could start them. I was years ahead of schedule in my career climb, though I didn't enjoy my job or being employed. Then one Friday, about 15 years ago, a fellow ambitious "climber" came into my office. "Hey man, I have something that is going to knock your socks off." He said. "Oh yeah..." I said, incredulously. "It's a book..." He said, while fishing it out of his bag. My eyes lit up. Even back then I loved reading. He found the book and handed it to me. It was a bit beat up and the paperback spine was bent in a hundred places. "Rich Dad, Poor Dad. What is it?" I said. "Just read it and tell me when you're done. I promise you'll love it." He said. I chucked it in my bag and went back to work. I nearly forgot the book after work. An hour of soul crushing traffic in Los Angeles will make you forget your will to live. Just before bed, I finally remembered the book. I opened it and started reading. Several hours later, as I finished the book, my mind was on fire. That book was magic for me. I read it a couple more times over the next few days and that was it. I was unemployable. The book didn't give exact specifics on how to start and run a business, but it was a mindset shift like I hadn't had ever. Within a few months, I quit my full time, 6-figure job and started my entrepreneurial journey. I found I loved the process of building a business enough that after I was able to replace my income with my first business, I decided to teach what I learned. I wanted to make it easier than it was for me. I wanted it to be step-by-step with nothing missing. I had gone through so much online training and it was never step-by-step and there was alway stuff missing, so I'd have to buy another course or get more coaching. Over the next 13 years I built many courses, all building on each other, until I had everything it took for someone with no idea how to start, to get started and go all the way to 7 figures. Last year and over 10,000 students later, I put all those courses in one place, to make it even easier to get your freedom business started. Thanks to that book and YEARS of study and testing and success, I made the freedom club just for you: http://www.FreedomClubVIP.com Jeremy Frandsen World Leader in Freedom Business Education P.S. Coming full circle on my story, a few years ago Jason and I were asked to write a Rich Dad book about internet business! Talk about a strange and exciting world we live in... We decided not to do it, as we wanted to keep focus on Internet Business Mastery, but it was an awesome milestone to be asked to write a book in the series that got me started!

It's true, I get a fair amount of whiny excuses emails from people riddled with fear, doubt, and victim mentality. I focus on more of those in these daily podcasts, because I think my answers can help you too. That isn't the only type of email I get. I also get a lot of 'Thank you' emails. I'm going to start sharing some of them, because many times they have lessons that could help you too. Here's one with my comments to follow. See if you can spot the lesson before I pull it out and inspect it. "Thanks for this fantastic course and for making it so affordable that I could not afford NOT to take advantage of it. I am no longer employed by someone else, and I need to get this going. Your work here is just what I need." ~Steve ----When I made the crazy decision to take all 10 of our extremely expensive, high end, step by step courses and put them into ONE membership site I had business friends that thought I was being stupid. We've made almost 8 figures with the courses at the higher price. We've changed a lot of lives and through the value cycle changed our lives as well. We helped over 10,000 people even with the extremely high prices. I realized I wanted to up my game. I wanted to 10x what Internet Business Mastery could do in the world and that means finding every way I can to go even bigger. Just to get access to all of our main courses it would have cost you over $8000. If you wanted to get coaching as well, it'd cost another $2000-$5000 each as well. I realized, when I started, that I couldn't have afforded that. To go 10x you have to think differently than you did before. One of the top excuses I heard from people who didn't invest in my courses was that they were too expensive. So I took care of that. 10x thinking lead me to give you ALL 10 of my courses, as well as every bonus I've ever created, as well as have past students and experts create some other courses and add them too. That seemed like 10x thinking. I still wanted to make it even better. I added past recorded coaching calls and even an exclusive, private Facebook mastermind group for you to share your journey with other people just like you. I put everything I have into the Freedom Club. That is about as 10x as I can be. Then I realized one more thing. I had to make the investment so low, it could no longer be an excuse for ANYONE. My last action was to make it so you could be a member of the Freedom Club for just one dollar a day. You get everything I've created and update for the last 13 years, all for $1 a day. As you can see in the email from Steve, he couldn't afford NOT to join. I agree. There is nothing more I can do to sweeten the pot. I've given it all, because I want everyone with the balls to go after their dreams and desires to have the chance to take that action. Back in 2009, I went on a diet. This was not your typical food diet. I had become over stimulated by news and information. I had the news on in the background when I got up in the morning. I'd catch up on it in the afternoon. I'd listen to it in the car in the form of talk radio. I'd balance that at night with comedy news like the Daily Show. I had friends that worked on political campaigns and we'd discuss the issues at coffee houses. I felt informed like a "good little citizen". That was about the time I was all sorts of scattered with my businesses. I had 5 of them still. Yesterday I talked about my mastermind buddy, "Mike", that told me the secret to him making one million dollars a month. Focus. Remember, I said that was when I decided to focus solely on Internet Business Mastery, which I did. The other thing that happened is I went on a news diet. I stopped watching and listening to ANY news, local or otherwise. I added internet business and internet marketing and I called it an information diet. I stopped listening to all the business and marketing podcasts. I unsubscribed to all the email lists and blogs I was constantly scanning. I was choking on information and using none of it. Then, I picked one thing I was working on currently in my business and focused all my info gathering on that ONE THING. As I mentioned yesterday, my business doubled for 4 years in a row because of the focus and I think equally because of the info diet. I thought gathering all that info was useful and I was getting smarter and smarter. All these years later and I realize that about 95% of what I gathered I never used (like all that info I gathered on marketing on Friendster. Ya, what's Friendster, exactly...) It was a useless treadmill of fake action. I had gathered all this info that became just an excuse not to take *real* action. My political friends were flabbergasted! How can you operate life without knowing what is going on in the news?! Well guess what? I still heard all about it from others. The difference is that I don't get swept up in the 24 hour threat of death and doom and mostly lies that is the news. It was nice to not be a part of the fear mongering the news mucks up. I heard second hand and with no pending doom threat, all about the bird flu, the swine flu, chipmunk flu, and all the other flus that were going to wipe out the world and never did. I heard about the rise of a supposed fascist that was supposed to ruin us all and I've watched my bitcoin and IRA account grow, finally. There are 1,000 things I still heard about that has affected me, but more importantly, there have been 10,000 things I missed that DIDN'T effect me and I'm grateful to not have had to fear about them. None of that has gotten in the way of my mission. I'm here to help those ready to take the small steps towards going for their dream of starting a freedom business. While all that doom and gloom is being reported I get emails from people changing their lives and the lives of others from all over the world. My information diet has become a lifestyle and I have no plans of going back. I keep my focus and my resolve, wanna join me? Jeremy Frandsen World Leader in Freedom Business Education P.S. One of the big, positive outcomes from having a successful freedom business is you can create the lifestyle you want. Do anything you want during the day. Stay up as late as you want. Wake up when you want. Create value when you want. Be around who ever you want. I've done it all since my freedom business took off back in about 2006 (I started in 2004, but it took a while to learn about designed my lifestyle.) That was when the money made it so I could really live a "free" life. The spontaneity was fun for a while, but then things changed. I changed... I never thought I'd say this but I love routine. I have a very specific routine now. I now choose to get my "work" done right when I get up. It can take about an hour or two, then I have the rest of the day to do what I want. Creating value in the morning, spontaneity after that. This is all because I learned about the Freedom Formula. Before I knew what it was I started a business that sucked my energy every day. I was working about 12 hours a day, everyday, even weekends. Then I met Jason, co-creator of Internet Business Mastery, and we talked all about the downsides of creating the wrong business. We had both done that with our first business because no one taught us the Freedom Formula. We didn't have mentors back then, just our little two-man mastermind. We didn't even know what we were doing was masterminding. Anyways, after years of doing it wrong we finally figured out the Freedom Formula and that is what has since given me the choice to create my day and my business and my life the way I want. The Freedom Formula is a system that if you put it into effect and go through the formula specifically, it puts you in control of your time and income. It gives you the freedom to do the things you love and wake up each morning excited and fulfilled with your life and pursuits. It's rather simple, but I bet you haven't heard of it before (unless you’ve heard me talk about it...) Seems a lot of people don't really want you to know it. Not me, I want you to know it so bad it's the first thing I teach in the Freedom Club. That way you don't make the mistake of taking all this time and energy to create a business, only to hate it cause you work so hard you never get the time to enjoy life too. There are 3 elements to the Freedom Formula and you have to know them and understand them to make your desire to be an entrepreneur come true. Luckily, the Freedom Formula is the first thing we discuss inside the Freedom Club. Module 1-2: The Freedom Formula Revealed. Take action, join now:

Jason Van Orden founded Internet Business Mastery ten years ago -- and over the last decade, he successfully grew it into a well-known resource for starting an online business. Yet, as the business boomed, Jason started to feel more and more discontent with his work, especially during the last couple years. Through scaling the business and automating it, Jason lost connection with his creativity and passion. Today’s guest is Pat Flynn, a highly successful blogger and podcaster who teaches people how to make a “Smart Passive Income.” Some people choose disruption, but many times disruption comes when we least expect it. In 2008, Pat Flynn was happy with his life. Working as the youngest Job Captain in the history of his architectural firm, he was on track for his dream occupation—world famous architect. When the national economic crisis hit Irvine, Pat found himself suddenly without a job and without any realistic prospects for employment. He wasn’t sure where to go or what to do when a timely podcast changed his life forever. “I discovered a show called “Internet Business Mastery,” and one of the first episodes I listened to was…a guy being interviewed on that show, who was making six figures a year helping people pass the PM Exam, or the Project Management Exam. And that was my first kind of “Aha!” moment in all this…I took a number of exams to get to where I’m at now, and one of them in particular, which was the last one I had taken, was really difficult, and I know a lot about it. [I thought] maybe I could do what this person’s doing.” What started as a simple blog to get a little money on the side soon turned into an eBook study guide that made almost $8,000 in the first month of its release. Pat was blown away by the response to his blog and his book, but what meant even more to him than the money was the impact his work was having on others. “I was getting emails back from my customers saying, “Thank you so much, this is exactly what I needed, I’ve been looking for this information for days. I wish that there was a some way I could repay you even more than this ebook…[t]hat’s why the way I run my business now and the way that I teach others to run their businesses is to always serve first. Because when you serve others and you help them, they’re gonna look for ways to repay you back.” While he would have been happy being an architect, Pat recognizes that his journey has stretched him in ways he never imagined and given him the unique opportunity to help others. Playing where no one is playing can be scary, but Pat learned to press on, even when the fear was almost crippling, and finds satisfaction in helping others do the same. Join us as we discuss how Pat learned to connect with his audience, expand his opportunities, and push outside of his comfort zone. I leave that to Dave Jackson at the School of Podcasting. He is the tech expert that helps me. If you are looking for help setting up the studio, Dave is your guy. He leads off my resources. TECHNICAL TOOLS A few technical tools from my studio include my mic, my mac and a few web tools. My studio mic is an ElectroVoice RE20. This runs about $450. It is a high quality mic. This mic is probably much more than a beginning podcaster needs. However, if you are serious about podcasting, this is a great mic. My backup mic is an Audio-Technica ATR-2100. It s a great USB mic for about $60. For editing, I use Adobe Audition in the studio. I will occasionally use Garage Band for quick projects or when I'm traveling. Dave Jackson recently turned me on to Hindenburg Journalist. I am considering that option. Audacity is also a great tool. Daniel J. Lewis is very knowledgeable with this platform if you are looking for input. I use a Mac Book Pro 13" for the flexibility. It cost me $1,200. My mp3s are tagged with ID3 Editor from PA Software. The price tag was $15. I host my audio with Libsyn. It runs $20/month. My URLs were purchased through GoDaddy. The price really depends on the URL. You can usually find a deal. After the initial deal, I pay about $45/year. I have a website on Homestead and one on Host Gator with Wordpress. Homestead is a stand alone site builder. Host Gator just hosts my Wordpress site. Homestead is $20/month. HostGator is $135/year, just over $11/month. They each have various plans. Wordpress is free. On my website, I use Paypal for my transactions. Most of my providers accept it. Plus, they have a card option for my customers. I like this because most of my customers are familiar with it. Aweber is my newsletter provider. The subscription is $19/month at the time of this writing. I looked at Mail Chimp. Both are very similar services if you have a list under 5,000. Canva.com is a decent resource for creating graphics. I use it primarily as an editing tool. They have a decent photo library. Most photos are about $1/photo. However, most of my photos come from 123RF.com. I find those photos to be a little better than the Canva photos. My workbook was self-published through Create Space, an Amazon company. You simply upload a .pdf. It is fairly simple to use. Not very expensive. They also sell the workbook through Amazon and converted it to Kindle. That made things super easy for me. I am in the process of creating a membership portal through WishList Member. It was $297 when I purchased it. They have solid training videos. I am not yet complete with this one. LEARNING TOOLS Dan Miller and 48Days.com is where it all started. He has great tools to help you find your passion and the work you love. Internet Business Mastery is a great podcast and course that has helped me refine my business focus. Jeremy & Jason have been there and done it. Audible.com has turned my car into a mobile classroom. I am usually listening to a couple books a month on top of the podcasts. You can get a free book when you use my affiliate link on the resources page. I cannot say enough about Dave Jackson and the School of Podcasting. If you want to learn the technical nuts and bolts, check out his course, membership and training tools. SHOW ME THE MONEY Now that you have your gear set, let's talk about making money with your show. Don't forget to get the free training online at PodcastTalentCoach.com. To make money with your podcast, you need something to sell. When I'm coaching clients, we review goals. Many will say, "I'd like to make money with my podcast." When I ask, "What do you have to sell?", they say, "Nothing." Nothing to sell equals no revenue. A few ads in your show will not generate enough revenue to make a difference. You need to create a product. Then, let your podcast promote that product while helping and entertaining your audience. The best thing about a digital product is that you do the work once and then sell it over and over again. When I was struggling to launch a product, I had no idea what my audience wanted. So many gurus say, "Figure out what your audience wants and then make it for them." That sounds so easy. But, how do you figure that out? A Seed Launch is the perfect place to start. The Seed Launch is part of Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula. The Seed Launch is one of my favorite parts of the PLF course. I've watched that module multiple times and learn something new each time. I love the Seed Launch and want to share it with you. If you embrace this, you will find the product creation and launch process so much easier to understand. Jeff teaches you exactly how to figure out what your audience wants. With the Seed Launch, your listeners tell you what they need as you create the product. It is brilliant. Let's walk through it. One of the fastest and easiest ways to make money is with the Seed Launch. You start with no list or product and you get paid to create your product. Tell me that doesn't sound great. If you are just starting out or want to test a new idea, a Seed Launch works very well. When you are building your online revenue stream you need to take small, incremental steps. Those small steps add up to huge results. You start building your list with your opt in. Promote that opt-in on your podcast and through your e-mail. You let that opt-in teach people about your product. Finally, you execute your product launch. These are the baby steps to revenue. With the Seed Launch, you don't need a huge list or a product. This is an interactive process. The Seed Launch helps build relationships. It helps get feedback and case studies that you can use with even bigger launches. Each launch builds on the last. Most of us are not trained teachers or trainers. We don't instinctively know how to teach correctly or appropriately. The Seed Launch will help you refine those skills as well. When creating your product and teaching, be careful of the Curse of Knowledge. You forgot what you didn't know when you were staring out. You forgot what it was like to not know the basics. You're likely an expert in the subject matter of your product. As an expert, it is very hard to remember what it was like as a beginner. Now, you do it without thinking. Like riding a bike. If you have ever taught a child to ride a bike, you know what it is like to try to remember the basics. The Seed Launch helps you avoid the Curse of Knowledge. It is interactive with webinars or teleseminars. That's what makes the Seed Launch a fantastic way to create and launch a product. Your fans tell you exactly what they don't know and need to learn. HOW DOES IT WORK? So, how does the Seed Launch work? With the Seed Launch, you create an outline for your course. You then get a group of people to join you as you conduct a series of webinars. Through the surveys you perform before and after each call, you'll find out what they really want to know, where the gaps are, and what you need to revisit or teach better. They tell you exactly what you need to teach, which helps you build a product your audience wants and needs. As you conduct the webinar series, you record all of the calls. By the end, you have a product that your audience has helped you create. It is exactly what they want, because they told you during the process. You have answered all of their questions, because they asked. The Seed Launch helps you determine the market need while avoiding the curse of knowledge. Keep in mind, the Seed Launch is not just for beginners. If you have a business but want to launch a new product, this is a fantastic way to get started. It prevents procrastination, because you get paid and are forced to create the product. The Seed Launch brings in money, creates a great product, and leads to new learning. GET PEOPLE INTERESTED "But I don't have a list." How do you get people in the webinars when you don't have a big e-mail list? We all started at zero. You are not alone. The best things about the Seed Launch is that you don't need a big list. You only need a small group to help you with the creation of your product. You need enough that you can create some community and receive valuable input. Where can we find those people? Think about your circle of influence within your expertise. Do you have a group of people you know who might be interested in your knowledge? How about your e-mail contacts. Look at your Facebook friends and your Twitter followers. Your podcast audience is a great pool of people. These are all solid ways to get people interested in your webinar series. If you can get 20 people on your webinar each paying your $100 to be there, you are earning $2,000 to create your product. How great is that? When you are done with the webinar series, you have a great product to sell over and over again using the other forms of launches that Jeff teaches. You can use the Internal Launch, JV Launch and Quick Launch. Jeff Walker teaches all of these in Product Launch Formula. He is getting ready to release PLF and kick off the training. Do you want to learn more? Do you want to see how this can propel your revenue? The free video series Jeff releases to promote PLF is training Jeff calls the "Second Best Training" on the internet just after the PLF course itself. I own PLF and have watched his free video series three times AFTER I made the purchase. It is a great business resource. If you want access to course, sign up at PodcastTalentCoach.com. You will learn a great deal with regard to making money with your podcast. Just for signing up, I'll send you two of my best resource guides, "16 ways to make money with a free podcast" and "75 ways to drive engagement with your podcast". Does your business stop you having the life you want? Jeremy Frandsen tells us all about lifestyle design and how to make your business fit your lifestyle and not the other way round. About Jeremy Frandsen Jeremy Frandsen is our special guest to celebrate our 100th episode of The Next 100 Days. We're delighted that Jeremy joins us all the way from Salt Lake City, Utah. Our podcast arose as a result of both of us signing up for a spin-off course and associated Facebook group from the long running show – Internet Business Mastery. Back in 2003, Jeremy was working in a cubicle office, with an hour commute either way. He was unhappy. He didn't understand that he could start a business. A colleague presented him with a book that stimulated him to go start a business. Later, he met up with Jason Van Orden, they went onto create a podcast, to talk about the things that were working for them. That was 2004. Their First Product They were asked about providing a course based on their podcast. They decided to offer one at $2,000. To prove that no-one would want their product! They had their own businesses, and they weren't thinking of the podcast as their own business. And as they were so busy already, they thought let's do the course at an insane price. They put out 35 slots, and it sold out in about 5 minutes! Then they made the course. The podcast helped them to a multi-million-dollar business. They have been all over the world speaking. They have been in business for 13 years. Lifestyle Design 18 months ago, Jason and Jeremy started to discuss how they could pursue their own new paths. They still have Internet Business Mastery… https://www.internetbusinessmastery.com …but they wanted to pursue their own interests. Jason was always more the technical guy and Jeremy the mindset guy. Jason wanted to take his skills to the next level and work with people who already had businesses as opposed to IBM which is all about the beginner, helping them get started and create a freedom business. Jeremy decided his next business would be more about personal development. So, these changes meant that Jason and Jeremy had to figure out how to change the IBM business to suit their desired lifestyles. In effect, the new projects that Jason and Jeremy are following is in effect developing the original lifestyle business, that was Internet Business Mastery. They met Tim Ferris, author of “The 4 Hour Workweek”. https://fourhourworkweek.com Jeremy wanted to stay home and make enough money to stay home. His first business sort of did that, but it took a massive toll on Jeremy. In order to grow it on top of the 12 hour days and 7 day work weeks, he would have to work more. Sound familiar? So, Jeremy DIDN'T have a lifestyle business. So, when Jason and Jeremy got to the point of realising that IBM was a business, they decide it had to be a lifestyle business: That they'd enjoy it. And they could still have their lives – Jason has been a traveller – France, Argentina, Portland, New York. They designed a business around a lifestyle they wanted. Designing a Lifestyle Business A lot of listeners may relate to Jeremy in the cubicle. What are the steps to get out of that position? Design it ahead of time. Their online course helps you design the business ahead of time Around a life that will keep you happy for years? How do you make your business so you are not unhappy in 10 years. Jeremy hated his first business. What made Jeremy dislike his business? He was doing everything. Jeremy was afraid to hire someone. He didn't want a person in his home. He had to make, ship and sell the physical products. But he was sacrificing his life that he was unhappy about. He was lucky the business worked, but was unhappy with it. Given businesses fail regularly, he was pleased he survived. How did they design the IBM lifestyle business? With IBM, they wrote out all the jobs that needed doing.

Yup I fired myself. That's what I did. April 1st, 2017 I fired myself from my business and went on a business sabbatical. So you may be wondering what prompted me to take a business sabbatical in the first place. Let me take you back to September 2016. I was in Australia speaking at Problogger and staying in this amazing suite Darren Rowse and the team organized for me as a paid speaker. The view was incredible and the hotel complex was too. I was there to do a Tony Robbins style pump up session in between keynotes and also to run a session track on how to have a lucrative sales funnel that converts. Josh was with me and that made it extra special as it was his first real look into my world and the circles I connected with as well as some of my community who were there. I even managed to get in some videos for a Ten Day Freedom Plan Blog challenge with my fave videographer Mick Russell. After that we had some quality time in Byron Bay and a surf session before heading to San Diego, US where Josh was speaking at a conference in an entirely different area to what I operate in, and then I was speaking at FinCon. Both our events were back to back and we were fortunate to stay in lovely hotels once again with sunshine and swimming pools. The trouble was I was in launch mode for my signature program, The Freedom Plan. Even though I've launched this four times before, and even though I was super systemized this was my first time taking my team through a launch and training them up at the same time. I was working in between time and not doing the normal networking and socializing at conferences that I like to do. In fact I really didn’t feel like it. I was kind of tapped out and feeling a bit jaded and while I was enjoying the relatively new romance with Josh I wasn’t enjoying what I almost always have done, the art of launching and running my business. It all felt heavy. And as much as my team tried to keep up and do their best, I just felt like I was pulling their weight and mine. As a result I was exhausted. I’ve come to realize over the years that for whatever reason, I am incredibly focused and can work at speed on almost any task I set my mind to. Until I worked with around 6 people on my team during a launch I realized this was not normal, and that you have to respect and understand other people's’ working methods. It’s just that during a launch it’s really hard to do this - you NEED to work at pace and everything needs to be timed super well and you do actually need to do things on the fly and change tactics at any point to reflect the nature of how your launch is going, and how people are responding. While this is great and exciting for a Wealth Dynamics Entrepreneurial ‘Star’ Profile like myself, it’s a nightmare for a Lord or Mechanic who have a much more grounded energy and need detailed plans and order to work best. So to them it looked like we were out of control but to me it seems very very much in tuned with exactly how everything should be going along. And slowly but surely deadlines got missed, communications broke down, things didn’t go out on time and it ended up being the worst launch that I’ve ever done. I still made close to $40,000 in the space of a couple of weeks but I spent a lot more on my team. I spent a lot on advertising. And at the end of the day, it just really felt heavy. And it wasn’t a successful launch and I felt like my list and my community just felt tapped out including myself. I remember getting off a live webinar where a thousand people turned up and the energy was fantastic but the results from it were not great. And I sat back at the end of that webinar and I was like, "That's it. I'm done. I just don’t understand why this is not going well and I have had enough. I have run this launch before and it's an amazing program and I made multiple six figures! I know it works and I know it gets people results and I just don’t understand what happened. This was a flop. The ironic thing was I was running a Freedom Lab at the same time and this is where I actually show you real-time, something that I am doing. So I have done one on “Write the Damn Book - how to write a book in three months but the first one was called “How to Launch like a Rockstar. And so people following along my launch live, every tactic we were doing around Facebook advertising, emailing and sales copy and I was sharing it live through videos, through blog posts. Here I was at the end going AND it was a big flop! It might not look like it to you, but transparently doing something live and sharing the real results when they don't come off how they should is embarrassing and at the same time very real. If anything it taught me, our team and everybody else out there a lesson that shit does not always go right. So that is when I decided, I am going to fire myself and it was such a great decision to make, but that was in late September, early October and I did not end up taking my business sabbatical until the first of April. And why was that? A couple of reasons: We were changing over to a brand new design for The Suitcase Entrepreneur which looks amazing. (Thank you Filipe - my team member in Portugal!) We were changing the website over so we were using a new theme and Kasia - WP Rockstar, who has been through my Freedom Plan, she handled all of that. We were changing from Infusionsoft over to ConvertKit for email, Clickfunnels for my sales funnels Leadpages and landing pages. Closing down the Leadpages pages that I had. And shifting over my courses and creating new ones on Teachable. So November and December were massive months. And even though I thought all those changes are beneficial, they actually affected my business for the next two or three months in a bad way. Just because when you change systems and change lots of things - like we took a ton of pages away from my website, we leaned it right out from over a hundred pages and 950 blog posts right down to just several pages! We took a lot of our landing pages and sales funnels over to Clickfunnels and the traffic dropped because we were just cleaning everything up. So what prompted me to think that firing myself was a great idea? I have been on a few digital sabbaticals before when you go completely offline and of course when I was cycling down Africa in 2012, I was pretty much away from my business for a good two months. I remember clearly from that that I forgot about my business, I did not worry about anything because I was so busy cycling up to a 150 km a day. I felt freer than ever while I was cycling down Africa, simply just waking up in the morning, crawling out of my tent, putting out my bike, having breakfast and just hitting the road. At the same time, my business was doing just fine. I was in my early stages, my virtual assistant, that I had hired just before I left, was doing a great job. And it made me appreciate that it had been a long time since I had really left my business behind and handed it over to people I trusted or just trusted in the systems that I had built. I thought for me, as a freedomist who is constantly preaching you need great systems, you need to outsource, you need the right tools and you need great sales funnel, I was like, Well, why not put mine to the test by removing myself as the bottleneck of my business? Around this time I actually chatted to Jason Van Orden, a good friend who used to have Internet Business Mastery with Jeremy Frandsen and he had also gone on a business sabbatical. In fact, they handed over to a CEO to run it, so I had a quick chat to him because I was interested to learn from him: what went well, what did not and why he took that step. Here is the conversation we had about it: Eventually I had to stop and ask myself why there was that waning in motivation. I’m sure partly I was maybe scared a little bit to look at that but what does it mean? What if I ended up figuring out I've got the wrong business or that I am done with this business. One thing that finally helped is when I went on a personal retreat. By then we were living on Paris so I went to Prague for 4 or 5 days. I did a little soul searching, journaling, thinking and I remember coming back from that and just saying to my wife, "I think I need a sabbatical from this business". So I asked Jason, how long did that take you to remove yourself from your business and here is his response. Truthfully it was really fast for me but I am not saying it was the right thing to do. In hindsight, there’s a lot of realizations here but basically I was so ready to be removed and that might have been maybe a little too fast. We probably needed a few more processes in place, expectations and measurements. So as you can see it was really quick for Jason once he made that decision. I have to say for me, I made that decision pretty instantly, the minute that launch finished, that I was going to take a time off. Then I spent the time just gearing up my team to be able to survive without me and to show them it was fully possible that without me in the business, it potentially would go even better! Because as the CEO of your business often, you do end up still doing things, making the shots, calling the shots, having the key relationships and all those things. Usually that is a great thing but sometimes you can just hold on a little too tight. You just need to release and beauty comes into the picture. Things that you'd never even considered before. And I am going to talk about those in Episode 3 for Season 2, so make sure you tune into the next episode by subscribing in iTunes and Stitcher. I would love for you to share in the comments section below: Have you ever taken a business sabbatical? What freaks you out about doing that? Have you thought about firing yourself when you've been a little less motivated in your business recently? Tell me where you are at. I want to know. I am doing this for you so I really want your insights. Stay tuned for the next episode of Season 2 where Jason Van Orden will tell us about what actually happened when he basically took a break from his business. We'll also have some other key guests on here that I think you are going to love with their discoveries on this topic. Want to sell your own online courses (and have a great launch)? Steps To Create New Podcast Relationships And Grow Your Audience – Episode 160 In the recent weeks, I have really found a new energy. My productivity has increased in both my podcast and business. I believe this is all due to the mastermind I have recently joined. The mastermind was formed through connections I made as a member of Internet Business Mastery. (Find my affiliate link HERE.) These three guys are in online business, but completely different niches than me. They hold me accountable and push me to succeed. It has been a great experience. Over the next few episodes, we will dive deep into the process of creating new relationships. This week, I want to help you develop new relationships. Though I have found the experience very helpful, your new connections do not need to include a mastermind. In the next episode, we will discuss making connections at events. The third episode of the series will involve masterminds and a list of listeners' favorite podcasting events. If you are interested in getting connected to like-minded people in a mastermind, e-mail me. I'll try to connect as many as I can. Coach@PodcastTalentCoach.com NEW RELATIONSHIPS Let's talk about the five steps to create new relationships. 1. Find New Relationships Get involved with Facebook groups by answering questions Join podcast memberships, like Podcasters Society (of which I am a mentor) and School of Podcasting (led by Dave Jackson, with whom I occasionally partner) Network at conferences Ask your interview guests E-mail hosts of complimentary podcasts that are not in the Top 10 or “On Fire” Invite your listeners to chat and ask them Interact on blog posts Form a mastermind with people from other industries, both in person and online Ask your vendors or suppliers Connect with your customers 2. Make Contact Introduce yourself with “I help _(niche)_ do _(talent)_ so that _(benefit)_.” Send an e-mail with, “I find your business/podcast/product interesting. I would like to learn more about it and see if there are ways we might help each other. Would you have 30 minutes for a phone call?” 3. Find Ways To Help Each Other Use the abundance mentality. There isn't one pie that needs to be divided between everyone. There is a flame that can be shared an unlimited number of times. That is the power of an idea. 4. Stay In Contact And Give If it isn't on your calendar, it will not happen Find reasons to make contact with your new friend, and schedule that contact Share useful articles Share affiliate opportunities Wish them happy birthday Ask if they are attending conferences you are attending Interact in their groups – Everyone is looking for engagement 5. Create mastermind groups When you find the right 3 or 4 people, create a mastermind group Find people with different backgrounds and perspectives Give the group structure Shape it in a way that will help everyone Check out Dan Miller's mastermind course HERE. Do you need help with your podcast? E-mail me any time at Coach@PodcastTalentCoach.com. Let's see what we can do. 6 People Who Can Help You With Your Podcast – Episode 152 Surround yourself with the best people and success can be had. Over my years in radio, I learned time and again that I could accomplish so much more by getting help and mentoring from the right people. As I ventured into podcasting, I quickly found the people that could mentor me and help me move forward toward my goals. Today, I want to share with you a few people I think might be able to help you on your podcasting journey. Some I know personally and work with closely. Some have mentored me from afar through their work and resources. Whichever method you choose to use, find the people that can help you get to your goals quicker and achieve more than you ever thought possible. School of Podcasting – Dave Jackson The first person I want to introduce you to is Dave Jackson at School of Podcasting. If you have listened to my podcast for any length of time, you have heard me mention Dave. He has been my mentor, helping me learn the technical side of podcasting. Dave's coaching and tutorials have helped me more than anyone I have encountered. My podcast actually started out as a blog. Back in early 2012, I was writing about the art of podcasting while learning the technical side and preparing to launch my show. Less than four months into it, my writings were being published on the New Media Expo site. Shortly after I began writing for New Media Expo, Dave saw my stuff and reached out. Dave was already on my radar, because I had discovered his website when I was doing my original research. I simply hadn't considered reaching out to a guy who had been doing it for about 7 years at that point. He was there near the beginning. Dave's gesture reaching out to me was a fantastic surprise. We had a great conversation that lasted about an hour. Here was a guy that had been podcasting since 2005 that just wanted to get to know more about what I was doing and how we might help each other. That is what I absolutely love about podcasters. The conversation eventually led to a bit of a partnership. Dave and I kept in touch working on various ideas together. We met up at New Media Expo a few times. Finally, we teamed up when I joined Dave's “Podcast Review Show” podcast. We review podcasters and help them improve. [You can appear on the Podcast Review Show and get reviewed HERE.] Prior to that partnership, Dave help me multiple times with my website, podcast, and technical aspects of my show. He has truly been there and done that. Dave knows his stuff. If you have questions about your feed, website or other technical aspects of your podcast, I highly recommend you use Dave's knowledge and tools. He does some one-on-one coaching. He has resources on his website. You can also get deal on gear through Dave. [Find information on Dave Jackson and the School of Podcasting HERE.] Audacity to Podcast – Daniel J. Lewis Daniel J. Lewis is another podcaster that helps people launch and improve their own podcast. He shares his knowledge of the audio software Audacity and web platform Wordpress. You'll learn all about equipment, software and skills necessary to podcast. His show was named the #1 technology podcast in 2012. Daniel and I met through Dave Jackson. After following his show for quite some time, Daniel and I finally met at New Media Expo and have since developed a bit of a relationship. The thing I love most about Daniel and Dave is their honesty and flexibility. They won't push you toward their favorite microphone. They will give you honest reviews and options that fit your needs. For instance, do you want or need a $60 microphone or $360 microphones? They teach you the differences and why. Daniel has a great lead magnet called “20 Things You Should Do Before Every Podcast Episode.” You learn how to get the room quiet, how to prepare, what tools to gather and more. He calls it his preflight checklist. This will make your recording session so much more efficient. If you are serious about podcasting, check out Daniel's Podcasters' Society. This is a group of great podcasters together in a learning and sharing environment that can really help you improve your show. Daniel and I are discussing making some of my material available within Podcasters' Society each month. Give it a look. [Find information on Daniel J. Lewis' material HERE.] The next few guys are just a few of the guys I have used as a long-distance mentors. The books and material written by these guys have done more for my business and career than anyone I can name. 48 Days to the Work You Love – Dan Miller Dan Miller and his book 48 Days To The Work You Love is where my journey began. Dan inspired me to pursue the work that I love. I originally discovered Dan and his work by listening to the Dave Ramsey Show. If you are looking for your purpose, check out Dan's material. He is a true entrepreneur. The thing I love about Dan is his simplicity. Dan isn't knee-deep in technology, like a lot of online business people. Though he has embraced the digital landscape more recently with the launch of his membership site, he is more about creating simple money-making opportunities that are right in front of us. Whether is it reselling cars, selling digital content or running a gym, he has done it all. Dan can see a business opportunity anywhere. He has great tools to help you find your passion and the work you love. Dan's most popular resource is "48 Low or No Cost Business Ideas". These are great. When you read this e-book, you'll say to yourself, "Why didn't I think of that?" Dan has great ideas. The inspiration is a huge bonus. [Find information on Dan Miller's material HERE.] Internet Business Mastery – Jeremy Frandsen & Jason Van Orden Jason Van Orden and Jeremy Frandsen at Internet Business Mastery have great information to help turn your knowledge into a business. I first discovered them during a session at New Media Expo. That presentation turned me onto their podcast. Internet Business Mastery is not only a great podcast, but a course that has helped me refine my business focus. Both Jeremy & Jason have launched various other businesses. They have been there and done it. In the Internet Business Mastery Academy, you learn how to develop your ideal freedom lifestyle. That leads into your freedom business blueprint. You learn how to design your single motivating purpose, create your money magnets, develop your list and more. This has been one of the best investments I have made. The course has really refined my business plan and philosophy. If you are building an online business, this material can help you move you forward. [Find information on Jeremy, Jason and Internet Business Mastery HERE.] Platform University – Michael Hyatt Michael Hyatt and Platform University have helped me organize my message and build my platform. I like organization. Checklists are my friend. Step-by-step processes that allow me to add some creativity on top of it are tools I enjoy. Michael Hyatt has a great membership site with Platform University. It is based on his book Platform, which is a must read as you develop your podcast. There is great learning inside the community. He only opens membership a couple times a year for enrollment. I got in early on this one and haven't looked back since. Inside Platform University, you will find Master Classes where Michael interviews other experts to dive deep into various subjects each month. In the Backstage Pass area, Michael shows you how he operates his platform. There are live member calls each month, member makeovers and so much more. There is so much information inside Platform University, I don't have enough time to get through all of it each month. I use the great material I find most useful and dip into the other stuff when I find time. When I have questions about specific topics, I can usually find the answer inside Platform University. [Find information on Michael Hyatt HERE.] There you have six people who can help you move your podcast and business forward. Dave Jackson can help you with the technical aspects of your show. Daniel J. Lewis has tools that can help you with your software, skills and search for your show. Dan Miller can help inspire you with new ways of thinking about business. Find what you love. Jeremy Frandsen and Jason Van Orden at Internet Business Mastery can help you lay an amazing foundation for your purpose and business. Michael Hyatt can help organize your work to help you be more efficient in building your platform. Do you need help with your podcast? E-mail me any time at Coach@PodcastTalentCoach.com. Hello and welcome to The Real Brian Show! Whether you're coming across this podcast for the first time or you've been with us from the beginning, we're so glad that you found us! We hope that it won't be a one-way street, either. Let us know who you are, either by joining our Facebook group or leaving a comment in this blog post. In This Episode The hobbit hole has undergone a remodel. Jason Van Orden of Internet Business Mastery joins us! Ready to become the best you? The ingredients vary. Ideas for changing up the format of the podcast. The Shadow pops in! Become the Best You If anyone has ever told you, play to your strengths, you'll perhaps understand why it is such a commonly used phrase. The things that come naturally to us, whatever that might be, are inherent skills that are essential to leverage. These skills come so easy that it feels like we're cheating when we use them. Hint: you're not cheating! The discussion on the podcast this week, between Brian and special guest Jason Van Orden, has a lot to do with taking an inventory of life and breaking it down into bite sized pieces. In order to become the best you, it certainly is necessary (or helpful, at the very least) to know thyself. But it's hard to be successful in our diverse world when all we know is ourself. There is a discovery task, inherent in know thyself that requires us to participate in the world and understand the people with whom we live and work so that we might deliver what is needed or wanted rather than something we think is needed or wanted. I've heard Jason interviewed a couple times and have always been impressed with his origin story. Borne of the entrepreneur vein, his highly marketable skill of software engineering fit the mold of what I just wrote above. He recognized his own skill and found an avenue through which that skill was profitable to the wider world. But in the course of breaking down what exactly that skill was, he discovered a more granular ability that allowed him to break away from a cubicle and embrace a wider audience. New TRBS Format Brian has an idea for how to change things up on the show and would love your feedback! Right now, every week you get one episode a week that's anywhere between an hour and just under two hours long. We feature special guests, interesting interviews, character interviews, discussions about current events and hot button social issues, and, as always, recommendations from Brian about the music, movies, and tea he's into. Here's how he wants to switch things up: Monday: 5 - 10 minutes of encouragement, wisdom, or a shared experiment to get your week started off right. Tuesday: 30 minute interview with a special guest, as you've come to expect on The Real Brian Show! Wednesday: Interview with a character (i.e. Han Solo, The Shadow, Dobby) Friday: 60 minute discussion with a friend, new or old, about something fun, interesting, relevant, or whatever! Sky's the limit. Links Reach out to Jason and thank him for being on the show! @jasonvo JasonVanOrden Dot Com Internet Business Mastery Join our Facebook Group

Jason Van Orden helps influencers and thoughts leaders turn their expertise and ideas into courses, content and automated systems that amplify their income and impact. He has been doing and teaching this since 2005. Knowing his own authentic best self is central to everything he does. Jason and Jeremy Frandsen's Internet Business Mastery course was the reason Kevin Appleby and Graham Arrowsmith got to know each other. Jason and Jeremy created a Facebook Group for course buyers and the rest is history. If you are thinking about making the most out of the new year, then this episode is for you. Listen and find out how to leverage your own authentic best self. 11 years ago, that's 2005, Jason and Jeremy created the first internet business podcast with Internet Business Mastery which has produced over 340 episodes. http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/internet-business-mastery-business-development-and-internet/internet-business-mastery-get-paid-to-live-your-purpose Why Authentic Best Self? Jason has been practising “Authentic Best Self” for some years. The phrase itself is credited to Amy Cuddy from her new book “Presence, Bringing Your Boldest Self to Your Biggest Challenges”. (Amazon UK http://amzn.to/2hmJKu4 and Amazon USA http://amzn.to/2gi39aJ Jason sees Authentic Best Self as a continual self-awareness and understanding of the factors and strengths that contribute to YOU performing at your peak. Leading to you creating maximum value in the world, and enjoying maximum fulfilment and having maximum energy all from the work that you do. Amy Cuddy advises that when you need to show up as your best self, if you PRECEDE that by referring to some information about your values and your strengths, and you remind yourself of that regularly, the science shows that you perform at a higher level with less stress. Hence your creativity is better and your output is better. Authentic Best Self is an understanding and leveraging information that you are continually discovering about yourself that leads to peak performance that leads to impact in the world. So, how does Authentic Best Self work in practice? For Jason, it is literally a DropBox folder of stuff, of assessments that he has taken, of journal entries he has made, feedback letters from people. How does Jason use this information? When he is faced with a business opportunity, this self-insight, acts as a sort of compass. As entrepreneurs, you are faced with lots of ideas and opportunities than you can pursue, with your limited resources – time, energy, money – than you can apply yourself to with any form of efficacy. Jason uses these materials to remind himself that he performs best when he allows himself to work in a particular way. He can quickly assess whether the opportunity will lead to him being over-extended or stressed. It is a FILTER and a COMPASS. One of Jason's strengths is research. He takes in a lot of information. He looks carefully at existing systems. This is the root of his success. Alternatively, his wife is kind of the opposite. Jason builds into his business people who will avoid him taking too long. Whether that is his wife or having a business partner who is more of a quick start person. How would Jason advise listeners to create their ABOUT YOU understanding material? Ask your close friends and colleagues Reach out to 5, 6 or 7 people who know you well enough and whose input you trust. It might be in a conversation, sending an email or writing them a letter. Ask them “What are the things that you value in me most?”, “What are the times that you see me as the most passionate, or most effective?”, “What are the things that you can depend on me for?”.Why do this? Often, we discount our strengths. Because these things come naturally to us, so we assume doesn't everybody operate that way? That's why it is important for others to affirm your strengths. You can then OWN the commonalities and themes,

Today on Video Marketing Madness – How to Green Screen Set up is important. Use a decent green screen background. It doesn’t have to be expensive. Pops up like a disc or square. Thick fabric or paper. Pull down like the old classroom maps. Lights. Use florescent style. Two lights on the green screen and 3 point lighting on the subject. (key, fill and back). B&H has all this stuff. Make sure the subject steps away from the background. Then import into an editor that has green screening. Shotcut at FreeVideoEditor.co is free. Also there’s Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas, Camtasia, etc. There’s also green screening software to use for live apps like Facebook Live. Be sure the lighting is real good. Extra tip – Don’t wear green. Red, orange and white best. Blue is in the green spectrum, so be careful. Mindset Matters. Listen to podcasts that can help your business. Today's question comes from Matt, who asks which bloggers have influenced me and my sites. In this episode I talk about just-in-time learning. I was inspired to get started by Internet Business Mastery (http://www.internetbusinessmastery.com/). Darren Rowse has always been inspiring and has provided a great example (http://problogger.com/). The first person to share me with their audience was Yaro Starak (https://www.entrepreneurs-journey.com/). Tim Ferriss (http://fourhourworkweek.com/), Ramit Sethi (http://www.iwillteachyoutoberich.com/), and Lewis Howes (http://lewishowes.com/) have inspired me to grow my business. Adam Braun has inspired me toward greater philanthropy (http://www.smartpassiveincome.com/changing-the-world/), including through Pencils of Promise (https://pencilsofpromise.org/). I'm also inspired by Elon Musk (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elon_Musk). Do you have a question about getting your business started? Record it at http://www.askpat.com/. I've been reflecting a lot over the past couple weeks as I close the books down for 2015, I've had a great year, and am ready to welcome in another one. Many thanks to all of you for listening, subscribing and sharing this podcast! biggest 2015 mistakes no boundaries established - not honoring days off or time off, etc. limit your launches - map them out way in advance not hiring soon enough not doing my due diligence with hiring - website, VA not doing enough research prior to launching an event - presell I'm sharing some free exercises to help you understand some of your biggest lessons {failures} - this is the reflection guide I use to create more success in my life. Go to adriennedorison.com/bigmistakes to download this free reflection guide. Started a business on the side of my day job, organically evolved from a personal development & leadership blog I started in late 2014. Offered my services for FREE to get some humans some real results and build my own confidence that I could start charging for this! Worked during mornings lunch breaks, evenings, and weekends to grow my side business alongside my corporate job. Took lots of action - without overthinking things first. Read The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod and completely switched my schedule around to make more time to grow my business in the evenings after my corporate day job. Read 6 Months to 6 Figures by Peter Voogd and learned to really master my skills before moving on - then later he became more of a personal mentor. Focused on Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University program and paid off all my debt in just 6 months - over $45,000. Invested in an empowerment coach and transformed ME before I transformed a business w/ Lisa Carpenter Dove deep into podcasts and learned from the best while I was on the road during my day job commute; Internet Business Mastery with friend, Jason Van Orden, Tiffany Han's Raise Your Hand Say Yes, Chalene Johnson's Build Your Tribe, Amy Porterfield's Online Marketing Made Easy, Pat Flynn's Smart Passive Income… Built my own website on SquareSpace and it was pretty darn good for a DIY. Had my website re-designed by someone and paid tons of money for it — but basically I had an artist build a bridge and it was a website nightmare that had to be redone. Had it redesigned again – by someone far more qualified to build a website that does what a website is supposed to do…and it's pretty too. Created a FB group – grew it organically and it has continued to grow to a group full of supportive, high-achieving humans looking to become more masterful. Had my first professional photoshoot done and even brought my dog, Church E. Bear Launched a course before I was ready and had 5 people join. Launched another course before I was ready and had 15 people join. Raised my prices 3 different times because I had a waitlist. Revamped my packages 3 different times because it takes awhile to figure out what's going to get your clients the best results. Worked with incredible clients – saw them getting incredible results, getting published, quitting their jobs, getting their own clients, creating their first products, doubling their income, increasing their prices, starting waitlists, growing their audience, etc. Quit my corporate job. Took two courses that rocked my world - BTBY with Kimra Luna, and Sales School with Kendrick Shope. Reached out to mentors and influencers to learn from the best. Started my own podcast - The School of Self-Mastery. Hit the New & Noteworthy in iTunes and stayed there for over 11 weeks. Reached the 10% of all podcasts with tons of downloads thanks to you! Connected with and interviewed tons of successful, influential and interesting humans because of the podcast - condensed 3 years of podcasting into 6 months! Shared my debt freedom story publicly even was I knew it would annoy people. Traveled to Atlanta to meet and be interviewed my personal finance guru, Clark Howard - and had my first national TV debut because of this bold action. Hired Shana Lynn Yao from yourmarketingmastermind.com to up my business game. Hired my next mentor, Farnoosh Torabi, who has been an invaluable investment for me and my business. Started outsourcing some smaller tasks to free up some time. Got even better at outsourcing and hired Erin Kelly as my OBM - best decision ever and she'll eventually be my first full-time team member (fun fact, Erin was a client, and now I'm her client). Made a few business besties just by building real relationships. Planned and launched a live event with a business bestie - and it was the biggest failure turned lesson ever…stay tuned for 2016 plans Put systems in place and invested in the tools I needed - 17hats, Acuityscheduling, Leadpages, Libsyn, Basecamp Won a year long coaching program for 2016 with sales expert, Kendrick Shope, and plan to get banging results to thank her for the generosity. Got active on periscope, and then stopped when it started to feel stressful. Pitched myself (and got published) in Huffington Post, GROW, Brazen Careerist, and Get Rich Slowly. Created tons of content & free resources - some that were great and some that “flopped” Gave away over 100 hours of free coaching and over $35,000 of content and coaching. Condensed over 3 years of podcasting into just 6 months and learned tons about myself and interviewing in general. Was featured as a guest on TONS of podcasts (SoMoney, Stacking Benjamins, Screw The Nine to Five, Lifestyle Business Podcast, The 5am Miracle, All Up In Your Lady Business, Success Secrets of Entrepreneurs, Creative Soul Lab, etc…) and even one of the #1 podcasts in all of iTunes - Art of Charm Was consistent EVERY SINGLE DAY for all 365 this year. Seriously, I didn't miss a day. Focused on building relationships and generosity, not on selling. Took a stand, often a controversial one, on the things that I believed in, which attracted the right people to my work. Launched a membership site Simplified Success Society and then added a $1 trial period. Joined a mastermind full of powerhouse women. Launched an in-person retreat for June 2016 and have almost filled the spots! Took vacations with my fiance, paid cash, and was able to take time off or even work from wherever I was if I wanted to. Made over $11,500 in business mistakes - and then talked about them. Tracked my numbers and didn't avoid my finances. Focused on profit not just revenue and "banked" income versus "booked" income. Showed up even when I didn't really feel like it because I knew once I started, I'd get motivated {I was always right}. Wasn't afraid to take big risks, but always made sure they were calculated ones. Spent tons of time understanding what my audience wanted {and still do} and then gave it to them over and over again. Invested a lot of time, energy, action and money into my business and reaped the rewards. Welcoming in 2016 success! On today’s episode I’m pumped to be talking about creating automated marketing systems in your business and how paid traffic can drive those systems with my good friends Jason Van Orden and Jeremy Frandsen from Internet Business Mastery. If you’re not familiar with who Jason and Jeremy are, they’ve been podcasting for 10 years now over on their Internet Business Mastery podcast. It’s an awesome show that I’ve been listening to for a few years now so if you’ve never heard it definitely check it out. Over that time they’ve built a multi-million dollar business and they’re really smart when it comes to being able to holistically look at a business and figure out where the opportunities are to increase revenue. On Today's Episode, You'll Learn: What Jeremy and Jason refer to as "the traffic myth” and where you should be focusing your efforts instead. What the "choose your own adventure” system is and how to use it to move customers toward spending increasingly higher amounts of money with your business. Six ways to scale a business How to use a "minimum viable funnel" to show quick results in your business How to increase the lifetime value of your customers How to create real wealth from your paid traffic Lots of gold in today’s conversation from a couple of guys who have been successfully doing this stuff for a long time.

How to Create 2 Million Dollars a Year in Passive Income with Nathan Birch It seems like a crazy dream to be able to retire from full-time work at the age of 24 and still have $2 million land in your account every year when you hit 30, but Nathan Birch is living proof that it is possible. For him it was all about setting the right goals, week by week, year by year, and more generally, working hard now to earn the right to not have to work as hard later. This seems like such an obvious mantra, but that’s why listening to Nathan is so inspiring, because every single one of us is actually capable of doing the things he does. His methods have empowered him to build an empire of 170 properties, but even for people who are just starting out who only want to buy one or two properties, his advice is indispensable. Below is a summary of what made Nathan successful in property, which makes for a mighty fine template of how to succeed in business and in life in general: ** Have a plan with clearly defined goals, and then map out every step you think is required to achieve them (this seems so obvious, but a dream can only become an achievable goal once every step is broken down into small, achievable chunks) ** Document the goals and keep reviewing them ** Don’t be put off by naysayers (but rather than ignore them, rationalise their point and disprove it with your own logic) ** Be persistent – if you have an idea, don’t just leave it as an idea… take action! ** Don’t make business decisions based on emotion, i.e. “this property looks really nice, I could totally live here”… you need to make sure the numbers add up ** Don’t underestimate the value of properties in areas that are thought to be undesirable ** Try and take your time to find a property under the market value, which gives you a profit margin from the beginning ** It’s never too late! (Colonel Sanders was in his 60s when he opened his first KFC) More generally, the most important thing is to really understand exactly what you want a property to do for your life. When Nathan picked up a magazine at the age of 13, he was certain that property could make him wealthy and give him security, so he did his damnedest to make that happen by getting two full-time jobs and saving enough money to buy his first unit when he was 18. Everyone’s story and aspirations will be different, but Nathan has proven that property as a means to security is a good path to go down, especially considering the increasing volatility of the superannuation/pensions market. In this episode of Business Brain Food you will learn: ** One man’s story of how to build a property empire ** How to set, review, and achieve goals ** The money that can be saved by having two jobs ** What makes a good property investment Resources mentioned in this episode: ** Ask Pat with Pat Flynn (http://www.smartpassiveincome.com/ask-pat/) ** Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield (http://www.amyporterfield.com/category/podcast/) ** Small Business Marketing with Timbo Reid (http://smallbusinessbigmarketing.com/podcast-2/) ** Beers, Blokes & Business (http://beersblokesbusiness.com/category/podcast/) ** Sales, Marketing Profit with James Schramko (http://www.salesmarketingprofit.com/category/podcast) ** Podcast Answer Man (http://podcastanswerman.com/) ** School Of Podcasting (http://schoolofpodcasting.com/) ** Internet Business Mastery (http://www.internetbusinessmastery.com/podcast/) ** Beinvested (https://binvested.com.au/nathan-birch/) ** Beinvested on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/user/binvested) ** Facebook (www.facebook.com/businessbrainfood) ** Business Brain Food Facebook Group (www.facebook.com/groups/businessbrainfood) ** Twitter (https://twitter.com/bfewtrell) ** ActionCOACH (http://actioncoachanz.com/itunes) ** ActionCOACH (http://actioncoachanz.com/stitcher) If you’re thinking of dipping your toe in to the world of property investment, or if you want to build your existing portfolio into something mega, then go ahead and do it! Nathan did. So can you! Also, if you are enjoying these Business Brain Food podcasts, then make sure to share them via social media sites or email the links to family and friends. A lot of time and effort goes into producing each of these podcasts with the goal in mind of the more people we can inspire about business the better. You can help us do just that! Until next time, have a profitable day. Cheers, Ben Fewtrell (02) 9111 5000

Profitcast: Monetize Your Podcast | Grow a Large and Loyal Audience
This week's Profitcast features an interview with Jason van Orden, one of the masterminds behind Internet Business Mastery and as the title of this episode suggests, Jason is adamant that there is still money to be made in podcasting, but it's not something to be taken lightly. I'm going to address the aspects of Jason's interview that resonated with me and how important the terms differentiation and curiosity suddenly became to my daily vernacular. Read more... Jeremy is the co founder of Internet Business Mastery. IBM is a podcast and online community that teaches Internet marketing and how to prosper as an Internet entrepreneur. The focus is on how to use information marketing and social media to generate leads and establish passive income streams.
Jason has what I would call an uncanny grasp for internet marketing and online media strategy. He is one of the most sought after new media consultants, and knows how to use new media to attract droves of new customers, boost sales, and turn fledgling businesses into market leaders that generate six figures in sales each year.

Mike is getting started with his online business and he wants to know how I knew my business was going to succeed. I recommend reading Steven Pressfield’s book, The War of Art. I also recommend listening to the Internet Business Mastery podcast (http://www.internetbusinessmastery.com/). Do you have a question about getting started with your business? You Never Know Who You Might Help PTC Episode 054 I received a piece of feedback from Kenn Blanchard the other day. He said he was inspired so much by my “chit chat” episode that he went back into the studio to completely rerecord his latest episode. Kenn creates a few podcasts. I listen to “Black Man With A Gun” He recently launched a second called “Motorcycle Radio”. We talk a lot about helping people with your podcast. As you create your content, keep in mind that you never know who you might be helping or how much that help may mean. Gary Vaynerchuk has an entire chapter in his book “Crush It” devoted to care. It is probably the easiest chapter you will ever read. It is also possibly the toughest chapter to execute well. Extra Mile It is unfortunate in business today that "going the extra mile" isn't even necessary to stand out most of the time. Being consistent and delivering on your brand's promise will usually make you better than most of the competition. It amazes me that delivering a simple recap after the job is complete to one of our clients can create astonishment on their part. They are so numb to the average lack of care from their other suppliers that any sense of attention will get them to take notice. I've seen many, many bands go through the motions. I am not trying to make excuses. However, It's like a couple trying to get back together after a breakup. The relationship ended for a reason the first time. Getting together again may be good for a beer. Any longer will probably only make you realize why you broke up in the first place ... even when you're making hundreds of thousands of dollars to do it. Trust Circle You can't shout your way into a person's trust circle. They only way to gain trust is to add value. Give them something they can use. Building trust is the foundation of revenue generation for your podcast. As you build trusting relationships with your podcast, continue to ask yourself, “How am I helping my listener?” Continue to give, and the trust will develop over time. When you begin every discussion with your product, needs or wants, people will tune you out. You will begin to sound (and be treated) like advertisements for used cars. Shouting doesn't work. Your listener won't care and will rarely return. Serve First Serve first, many times over. Then and only then can you effectively sell. Shows like the 48 Days To The Work You Love, School of Podcasting and Internet Business Mastery are all designed to help their listeners first. Sure, they all have products to sell as the end result. However, they never begin with their product. The discussions on these shows always begin with the listener's needs in mind first. As you prepare for your show, find great ways to help. Your help may come in the form of entertainment. You may serve as companionship for your podcast listener. Help them find other forms of companionship as well. If your podcast is only one hour per week, there are 167 more hours in the week that aren't occupied by your show. Your listeners will surely need more companionship to fill a few of those hours. Help your audience fill those hours, too. Let's Help Each Other I would love to answer any question you might have. I have been in broadcasting for well over 20 years. Coaching on-air radio talent has been part of my day-to-day role since 1995. Studying and developing marketing and promotional campaigns for our radio stations and clients is also something I do on a regular basis. If you could use some help in any of these areas, please shoot me an e-mail at Coach@PodcastTalentCoach.com. Your questions will help me refine my show. You will help me select topics. It will also make the show much more enjoyable for you. I would love to hear your questions. If you could take a minute to shoot me an e-mail, or even comment on any of my posts that may have helped you, I would truly appreciate it. Making this show better is always my goal. Let me know how I can help you. In turn, let's help each other. I'd love to help you with your podcast. E-mail any questions or comments you might have to Coach@PodcastTalentCoach.com. You can also find other tools including worksheets, a workbook and videos to help you create great content at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com. Let's turn your information into engaging entertainment.

Today, we welcome to the show Greg Hickman, the creator and host of Mobile Mixed, a mobile marketing and consulting business. During his career as a marketing specialist, Greg worked with smaller agencies, as well as big brands like Pepsi and Wal-Mart. He also tried his luck with a consulting company, which eventually turned into a software business that did not see much success. Later, he started Mobile Mixed show that evolved into a successful business. Inspiration: Coming from a mobile marketing background, Greg did not know exactly how to launch his online business. That is when he discovered blogs and shows like Pat Flynn's Smart Passive Income and Internet Business Mastery that help people get started with and run their online businesses. After starting Mobile Mixed, his success grew exponentially. Challenge: As many online entrepreneurs do, Greg struggled to find time to do interviews and to work on his business while working long hours at his daytime job. Greg had to make countless sacrifices in order to keep his business going. Even his relationship with his fiancée suffered during that time. Luckily, Greg's employer saw value in what Greg was doing with Mobile Mixed and so he was able to allow for some flexibility in his work schedule as business started picking up. Passion: Today, Greg is very excited about building up additional revenue streams through consulting and running a mobile marketing related membership community. Advice: Taking the entrepreneurial leap always comes with some risk. Each of us needs to figure out what we can do to manage that risk as best as possible. Entrepreneurs, and/or great leaders, need to find comfort in uncomfortable situations because that's where the breakthroughs happen. When you start feeling that discomfort, push through it. It should be your beacon. Also, have faith that it is all going to work out. Remember, if someone else is doing it, great! That means it can be done. And if no one else is doing it, you can be the first. Entrepreneurs Resource: If you are running an online business, a virtual assistant will make your life and business much easier. FollowUp.cc is an amazing tool for email management, setting reminders, re-sending email and keeping your inbox clean Asana.com is a great, free project management tool for your virtual team. You can connect a number of different web apps for free with Zapier.com. Blogs, Books & Podcasts: Pat Flynn's Smart Passive Income Internet Busniess Mastery The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy Leaving Corporate Podcast How To Increase Your Blogs Reach By 2000% Looking Back: Looking back, Greg wishes he would have taken his own advice, which is: “Don't let other people's definition of success become your definition of success.” He strongly believes that everyone should figure out how they measure their own success and stick to that measure. Welcome to the very first episode of the Niche Site Tools Podcast! I am super excited to have a Podcast available for you today and honestly, I'm quite nervous as well!
In this episode, David comes back from never, neverland with Episode 14 of The Blog Program. 'Bout. Damn. Time. :) Actually, this was a decision I made while I was in Las Vegas recently, for the New Media Expo. While I can't remember exactly how many years I've been going there, it has to be at least my FIFTH time attending this conference. And I can tell you... Never before have I seen so many podcasters. Not only that, but many of my acquaintances in the business who were not podcasting are now... podcasting. Lewis Howes is now podcasting. Amy Porterfield is now podcasting. Pat Flynn is going to be starting a second DAILY podcast. Jason and Jeremy from Internet Business Mastery are flirting with the idea of a daily show (at least judging from a recent survey they ran). Listening to Cliff Ravenscraft and John Lee Dumas talk about their podcasting and trends also has me convinced that I'd be an IDIOT not to get regular about my own show. And, so it is. :) And, we usher in 2014 with episode #14. A dose of irony, there. In this episode, I talk about my biggest takeaway from the year 2013. In this one, I talk about: What its like having been in this business for 15 years. What went WRONG in 2013. The moment I had an "aha moment" which brought this lesson to mind. How business is like an art form How this lesson translates into ALL areas of our lives, including relationships, diets, and all of our goals. I also start off this episode singing a little bit of Britney Spears. So, there's that. ;)

Dialed In For Success Episode 14—The Arrival Fallacy Show Notes I first heard of the arrival fallacy on the Internet Business Mastery podcast Comes from the book Happier by Tal-Ben Shahar The Arrival Fallacy—“The false belief that reaching a valued destination can sustain happiness (p.25) As you get closer to the event, you adapt to your environment and return to your happiness setpoint CORRECTION: at 3:30 into the podcast, I reference Jim Belushi as an example of the arrival fallacy. Something has to happen before I will give myself permission to be happy The Readiness Arrival Fallacy: I’ll be ready when… Something has to happen in order for me to feel worthy of having something in my life The Enlightenment Arrival Fallacy: I’ll understand when… Something has to happen before I can be a better person or live life by higher values Source: Venkatesh Rao Live Life, Not Projects http://www.tempobook.com/2012/02/20/live-life-not-projects/ All arrival fallacies are based on the idea that whatever you want to experience comes from outside yourself. In the summer of 2012, Greg Hickman started MobileMixed.com while still in Corporate America "for selfish reasons. [he] interviewed people doing cool things in the space.” Then he began networking, attending conferences and learning how to monetize his business. On Dec 13, 2013, he left his Corporate America gig and has never looked back. This is his story. Rubber-Meets-The-Road Tip * Greg, like many of my guests, lived below his means. With his nestegg he was able to take a calculated risk to go out on his own. * He was able to convince his employer of the benefits of allowing him to follow his passion to help them grow. He built his own business at night and on the weekends by being "efficient" and only taking on "good projects and saying no to the dogs." * We all need to be more selective of the clients we take on. Get my " Sales Agenda ( http://thesaleswhisperer.com/the-sales-agenda-template/ ) " for free to see how I do it. * Wanna get REALLY good at taking on better clients? Enroll in the 30-Day Sales Growth Program ( https://www.thesaleswhisperer.com/30-day-sales-growth ). * He was commuting 45 min. He was worn out and knew that in order to leave he had to have no debt and have a certain level of income and momentum. He was getting speaking gigs and he knew he would figure things out once it got too big. “I just said yes.” (Say yes and figure out how.) * Selling his house was important in his transition. He bought a townhome in 2010 and he saw his neighbor do well and sell it within 48 hours so he shifted his mindset of seeing his house as a long term investment and sold and now had a safety net. He was afraid of not being able to pay his bills so he got rid of his mortgage. Got a small one bedroom apartment. * Why mobile? * Most of your audience is connecting with you via mobile. 51% of all email opens. 70% of Facebook. 61% of podcasts are listened to on mobile. * We consume data differently today than just a couple of years ago. * Consumers will punish you by not coming back if you're not mobile friendly. * 74% of consumers will only wait 3 seconds and there is a 47% chance they won't come back. * A lot of people listen to his podcast from his mobile web page. * Greg uses a mobile responsive Wordpress theme. * Mobile Web, SMS, Email, Some social, search (local search) ( * Check out this SMS marketing ( www.socialfuse.com/aff/reff.php?p=wschaeffer&w=Free-Month ) tool I recommend.) * SMS mistake - treating it like email and sending too much information. Keep it short and sweet. Great for time-sensitive information. 90% are read within 3 minutes. * Consistency and frequency - get it right. Once or twice a week is fine. SMS will break through the clutter but have important information and send it timely. Maybe announce new product early. Treat them more special than your email subscribers. Give them an Early Bird special maybe 12 hours early, etc. * Mobile Coupons convert 10x better than paper coupons. * Be careful. Big penalties if you send SMS spam. * Have a clear CTA - Call To Action. * How to increase opt-ins on SMS * #1 is text keyword to a shortcode * Full 10-digit number is a long code (it's cheaper but offers less flexibility and wireless carriers will shut you down if you have large opt-ins because those numbers aren't provisioned for that.) * Dedicated short codes are expensive - $500 to $1,000/mo pre-paid 3-6-12 months - s o get a shared short code. * Better interaction and opt-in rates. * Offer incentives. Not just monetary. Maybe better access. * Keep it simple. * Start with the end in mind. Ask a restaurant when their slowest day is. Start there. * Greg uses his podcast to give people instructions to opt-in via SMS. * Then drive to mobile-optimized web page from LeadPages to opt-in. Send an MMS with video to increase engagement. * Podcasting * Podcasting is an authority-builder. It drives traffic to his business. There is so much more competition now. * There are only 20 slots in New & Noteworthy. * Make sure you are unique in what you do. * Greg talks about leaving Corporate America. * John Lee Dumas had $140,000 in savings. * Amy Porterfield had two paying consulting clients on 1-year contracts. * Get niched to get successful. * He gets maybe 500 to 1,000 downloads a day and he does two podcasts per week. But it's a lead-generator. He monetizes through other products and even affiliate products. * Podcasting is still a great way to connect with your audience. * Jason and Jeremy from Internet Business Mastery - do an audio blog.
