I stedet for prisnedsættelser tilføjes ekstraudstyr uden merpris, bl.a. – dog først i 2027. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Shoot us a Text. It's a brand new week and we're heading to Will Guidara's Welcome Conference in NYC. Before we get there, we need to talk about how Volvo is giving up on car subscriptions, more places you can take an autonomous rideshare, and more ways to buy physical items in Roblox.Show Notes with links:Volvo has officially ended its vehicle subscription program, Care by Volvo, which launched in 2017. The service offered a bundle of vehicle use, maintenance, and other benefits under a single monthly payment of $600-$800/month across more than 40 states.Volvo announced on September 12 that the program is suspended "for the foreseeable future."Volvo had previously marketed the program as a way to attract younger, first-time Volvo customers, with 80% of subscribers being new to the brand.Existing subscribers can complete their terms and receive a credit toward a new Volvo purchase or lease. The decision allows Volvo to focus on its core offerings and future product introductions.Spokesperson Russell Datz stated, “This allows for concentrated focus on our core customer offers and the coming introduction of new products.”Uber and Waymo are taking their autonomous ride-hailing partnership to new cities, Austin and Atlanta, with a rollout expected early next year. This marks an expansion of their driverless car services beyond Phoenix.Uber will dispatch Waymo's all-electric Jaguar I-PACE vehicles in the new cities with the fleet set to grow to "hundreds" of vehicles over time.Shares of Uber rose 5%, and Alphabet's stock increased by 2% following the news. This comes amid increased regulatory scrutiny of self-driving technology after several crashes."The expansion reflects Uber's ongoing commitment to EVs and autonomous tech partnerships,” Uber shared in the release.Roblox has teamed up with Shopify to allow physical products to be sold in its metaverse, marking Roblox's first major e-commerce integration. The partnership enables developers and brands on Shopify to sell physical items directly within Roblox games. The pilot program starts this year, with a full launch expected by early 2025.The collaboration builds on Roblox's past shopping experiments with brands like E.l.f. Cosmetics and Walmart.Shopify highlighted the importance of this integration for Gen Z entrepreneurs, stating, Commerce happens everywhere.Roblox aims to capture 10% of global gaming content revenue, with plans for future e-commerce integrations across various platforms.Hosts: Paul J Daly and Kyle MountsierGet the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/ Read our most recent email at: https://www.asotu.com/media/push-back-email

We discuss the future of motoring in the back seat of a Jaguar I-Pace while it's being self-driven by Waymo's computers around San Francisco. === This episode is sponsored by Vyper Industrial — America's #1 rated shop chair, tool carts, and creepers, proudly made here in the US. Go to https://www.vyperindustrial.com/ and use code HAGERTY for $50 off on all your order! Click here to join the Hagerty Driver's Club: https://bit.ly/Join-HDC-Cammisa-Rev === The End Must Be Nigh — because Jason Cammisa convinced the ultimate self-driving car-hating Carmudgeon, Derek Tam-Scott, to ride along in the back of a Waymo on an hour-long city adventure. And even Derek had to admit... We're getting ahead of ourselves. There's discussion about: Who Is Waymo? How is Waymo different than other autonomous brands like Cruise or Uber? How do you hail a Waymo cab? ...and important journalistic endeavors like: What happens if a minivan cuts you off and ABS'es to a stop in front of you? Jason's Van, Jynah, wanted to know. So we found out. The other question: to what standard should we hold self-driving taxis? Should they follow all rules? Should they prioritize safety and smoothness (like Jason suggests) or do whatever possible to minimize commute time, even at the risk of making passengers sick (like Derek wants?) It's an amusing, intelligent real-time discussion on the future of self-driving cars. And no, Waymo is nothing like Tesla Autopilot or any other current car's self-driving system. SA consumers delay EV purchases as they wait for improved range, prices – AutoTrader

Digital automotive marketplace AutoTrader and Smarter Mobility Africa have produced their third study that focuses on South African consumers' perceptions of electric vehicles (EVs), as well as their preferences in considering EVs as a mode of transport. Unpacking the 2022 AutoTrader Electric Vehicle Buyers Survey reveals that the initial cost of purchase remains one of the vehicle type's biggest drawbacks. “EVs in South Africa have the added disadvantage of incurring substantial taxes,” notes AutoTrader CEO George Mienie. “Internal combustion engine (ICE) imports incur an 18% duty, versus 25% on EV imports, which pushes the cost of an EV to twice that of the average price of a new ICE vehicle (of a similar make/model),” he explains. “It is interesting in the survey to note that the initial cost of purchase has become an even bigger disadvantage to consumers,” says Mienie. The survey also highlights that the early adoption of EVs is decreasing in South Africa as consumers are becoming more educated about what the future holds for EVs as a mode of transport. As battery technology continues to develop, it will not only reduce the initial cost of EVs, but also increase the range of these vehicles. “The data shows that consumers are pushing out their purchase intent and almost taking a wait-and-see approach,” says Mienie. According to the report, the number of people willing to pay more for an EV upfront, even given its lower running costs, fell from 68.2% in 2021, to 64.6% in 2022. According to the report, an EV costs about 75% less to ‘refuel', on average, compared with an ICE car. Battery efficiency, safety and price have emerged as the most important considerations when purchasing an EV. Reduced carbon emissions and air pollution, followed by cheaper running costs, were cited as big advantages of owning an EV. EVs are still out of reach for more than two-thirds of consumers in South Africa, notes the report. However, 64% of respondents indicate a willingness to spend up to R500 000 on an EV. Range Anxiety Vehicle manufacturers are currently producing EVs that travel further than 700 km on a single charge. In South Africa, EVs like the Jaguar I-Pace can travel up to 470 km on a single charge. Range anxiety declined in 2022, according to the AutoTrader survey, and respondents appear to be more realistic about range (300 km to 500 km) than they have been in the past. Still, insofar as purchasing intent is concerned, range expectations remain higher, with the majority of respondents (37%) stating they would consider buying an EV if it had a range of between 500 km and 700 km. On a more positive note, charging infrastructure worries, cited as the main disadvantage in the previous AutoTrader report, have declined. The number of people who have driven an EV locally has also increased, up from 12% in 2021, to 15% in 2022. Disadvantages Given South Africans' love of driving, self-driving technology came in as the least influential factor in the purchase of an EV, states the AutoTrader report. Charging time emerged as the second most noted disadvantage, increasing from 58% in 2021 to 59%. However, 81% of respondents stated that they would consider purchasing an EV if it could be fully charged in under an hour at a fast charging station, while more than 70% of respondents with a higher disposable income want home charging of four hours or less. Respondents cited the three most trusted EV brands as BMW, Tesla and Toyota. (Tesla does not have a presence or offering in South Africa.) Supply & Demand EV searches continue to surge, says the AutoTrader report. In the first half of 2022, EV searches on AutoTrader using the fuel-type filter increased by 99.95% year-on-year, while hybrid searches soared by 129%. EV views rose by 133%, with the Audi RS e-tron, Audi e-tron and Porsche Taycan the three most viewed EVs. Views for hybrids, with their combination of combustion engine and electric motor, increased by 61.28%, with the BMW i8, locally ...

It's Tuesday 17th May,  it's Martyn Lee here and I go through every EV story so you don't have to.  CADILLAC LYRIQ TOPS 300 MILES IN RANGE AS GM REVEALS NEW PRICING - The Cadillac 2023 Lyriq SUV will top 300 miles in range and offer two new colors, but it is getting a price bump from initial estimates. - The rear-wheel drive Lyriq will start at $62,990, a $3,000 price bump from the Lyriq Debut edition. The all-wheel drive model starts at $64,990. Initial deliveries of the all-wheel drive model will start early next year and the EPA-estimated range for that model will be announced closer to the start of production. - Cadillac has 250,000 hand-raisers and "time will tell how many of those will convert into actual sales." But of those interested in the Lyriq, 70% are new to Cadillac and 68% are of the younger generation, bringing down the average age of the brand's customer. - "With the launch of the 2023 Lyriq Debut Edition, we offered a special price for our first EV customers of $59,990," Tatulli said. "As we move into the regular life cycle of the vehicle, we've adjusted pricing to reflect the content of the vehicle." - BMW iX is $85,000, according to Kelley Blue Book. The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQC is expected to start at $70,000. The 2022 Jaguar I-Pace starts at $69,900. There will probably not be an e-model in the “classic” compact car layout based on the MEB from the Ingolstadt manufacturers. - According to Auto Motor und Sport, the electric A3 will be based on the Scalable Systems Platform (SSP). VW presented this last year as part of its ‘New Auto' strategy. VW gave only few key data on the SSP. As Audi boss Markus Duesmann, who also heads group research, stated, an “800 Volt Flex” system is to become standard for the mechatronic platform.
