Journos at The Guardian went on strike and were almost immediately replaced with AI, despite the paper saying it wouldn't do that to them. OOPS. The Guardian's use of AI during a 2025 journalist strike has sparked significant controversy, highlighting the broader debate on AI's role in journalism. Accusations arose when AI was used to generate headlines amidst the strike against the sale of The Observer to Tortoise Media, leading to criticism from the NUJ for undermining the strike action. This incident, coupled with other instances like Microsoft's AI-generated poll next to Guardian content, raised ethical concerns about AI's impact on journalistic integrity and reputation. The Guardian has set principles for AI use, emphasizing human oversight, but the practical application during the strike drew internal and public backlash, reflecting industry-wide discussions on AI's implications for job security, content quality, and ethical journalism.

Tommy Robinson - The Enemy of the State Rises Again

Show Notes and Transcript Tommy Robinson's first autobiography was called Enemy of the State.  And everything the legal system, police or media does just seems to reinforce that sentiment.  The latest example of two tier policing was just days ago when Tommy was arrested while eating breakfast in a café in London.  He returns to Hearts of Oak to discuss why the police issued a section 35 order and detained him.  Why was he prevented as a journalist from reporting on a pro Hamas demo?  And why do the media hate him so badly? So much to discuss and only Tommy himself can shed light on all these questions. Connect with Tommy... It's so good to have you with us. Thanks so much for your time today. (Tommy Robinson) I can be named now. I'm being named everywhere. It is crazy. But let's look, there's so much to get into, your arrest for, I don't know whether you were just arrested for a bad breakfast, but anyway, first person arrested for having breakfast.  It was bad. We'll get into that social media reach. But actually people can find you obviously @TRobinsonNewEra. The problem is they won't be able to find that. They will if they put the address in. Because I'm still shadow banned on Twitter and profile banned. So if you just go and search Tommy Robinson you can't find me. Which is good that 120,000 extra people have found me in the last three weeks considering you cannot search for me on Twitter. Which I'm frustrated about. If it's a home of citizen journalism, give me back my account, why limit who can see me? Maybe it's already on from before when I was de-platformed before and maybe they had the search ban on there previously. Maybe they haven't realized that, I hope so. I hope that my reach, I'm given the ability to reach the masses. That's what it should be. So there shouldn't be limits on who can find me, which is currently there are. So, but yeah, @TRobinsonNewEra. That's where I'm at.  I sometimes think, crap, what's Tommy on? I'm on my phone and don't have it saved or whatever. Oh, no, of course I can't find it. Let me check his feeds. And at least you're there, certainly in our feeds. The one other thing is trsilenced.com for your books. Maybe mention that before we get on because... I'm on a grift. It's Christmas. I don't care. As I said, I've got three kids and they've got big lists and you can, this is enemy of the state. If you watch what happened recently in my arrest in London, you watched that little clip and you saw I done nothing. Yeah. If you go on my Wikipedia and read my criminal convictions, literally it's a list of the things you just witnessed and I get put before a judge, not a jury. I've never had a jury ever. I won't have a jury this time. I will not have a jury for an upcoming trial where I face two years. It's insane. This details my life story. You get to understand the person I am, not the person they say I am. I bought this out in 2015. I then wrote another book, was to talk about big tech censorship, government interference, the interference in government and influence they put on private businesses in order to silence you, control you. But when they control me, they're controlling what you hear. This talks about that. This was banned. Ironically called silenced. I put it on Amazon. This went to number one, three times, four times on Amazon. This was up to number three in the first five days, it was going to number one, and then they cancelled it totally. So the only place you can get these you can get this now is trsilenced.com. You can buy you can get personalised copies, signed copies. But this was banned, when you think about it like Mein Kampf Hitler's book is not banned on Amazon. You can write about Hitler on Facebook On both of those platforms, if you mention my name, or if I try and bring out a book detailing my story, they're both banned. They want to control and tell the public who I am. They don't want them hearing from me. It's quite a worrying level of censorship and control that we see. But yeah, you can get those books if you want to know any more about my life and the reality behind the headlines, the truth behind the headlines, and I'm actually just putting pen to paper on another. Because I want to get more side of course.  Well, that is the two books there. Make sure and go to the website, click on the shop tab and you can order them. And by doing that, it's a way of supporting Tommy. And actually I know people who bought two, three of them had one for themselves and passed on to friends and family. So it's a perfect opportunity. Why not? I know many of our friends who won't talk to us about any of this, they'll be desperate for a Tommy Robinson book. So why not make their Christmas, give it to them, but challenge them because Tommy, all this is word of mouth, isn't it? If a friend recommends something, then that person is more likely to have a go and have a look. And I think that's the best way of recommending. Do you know how many emails I'm receiving daily? Do you know how many notes I'm getting with the orders of these books? Do you know how many people have just turned, just realizing, now they're searching, they're shocked what they're finding. I've gotten so many apologies from people who hated me, people who said they, judged me on what the media were telling them and they can't believe how fooled they've been. What that then does is make people question everything, which is what Covid helped with this. People saw the lies, they saw the pushing of the vaccine, they saw them not telling the truth, they saw all these different things and then it's made them question a lot more. And then when they see little snippets like you saw the other day of my arrest, it opens their eyes. So really it's enlightening for people, it's good for our cause. We want people to question everything, we want them to see that they're being fooled by the media, and lied to by the media. The media are not there to give them the news, they're there to tell them how to think, what to think, and who to think that about. So yeah. Yeah. And I certainly, whenever I've been with you, going around anywhere in a town, the support you get is 95, 98% positive. I just remember on a train in London, this is probably four years ago, sitting on a train and I had messaged you something and you were there, Tommy Robinson, on my phone, probably stupid but hey. And suddenly the guy beside, packed in, the guy beside me said, hey mate, was that the Tommy Robinson you just messaged? And I said, yeah, and he goes, the actual Tommy Robinson. I said, okay, how's this got to go? Yeah, and he goes, no way. And then he shouts over to his mate, who's like six seats along. This guy knows Tommy Robinson. He goes, no way, holy shit. How do you know Tommy? And tell us about, suddenly I'm thinking, oh no, how's this going to go? But it's the norm. It's when you mention your name, the reception by and large hugely is positive. But that's the opposite of what the media try and portray. I will do one day. I'm just going to get someone to stand back and film me as I walk through places because I obviously am aware of the perception of the reception I receive. So that gives me, does inspire me. It makes me aware that they're not winning. So I get most of the time a hero's reception when I go places. And I understand. Yeah, so that they they have wished to portray this image of we're part of a fringe movement, we're not, we're mainstream. People are thinking what we're thinking, they feel the way we feel, they're seeing what we see. So they want us to be some little fringe movement and they want to portray that I'm the most hated man in Britain, total opposite. So yeah, and I know that, and luckily for me, my children have been able to see that everywhere I go. And it's not, and do you know what, their attempt to portray us as racist, I was walking through the airport yesterday, majority of people come up who shake my hand, ask some photos, weren't white. So it's like, yeah, they're not winning. They haven't won. Their lies have been seen.  I know. Okay, the arrest. So you went to report as a journalist, which is what you've been doing for years, reporting on news, bringing information to the public on grooming gangs, and of course, people can watch the Rape of Britain episodes. This was something different. This was going to report on the Palestinian pro-Hamas, demonstration and you go for a breakfast and then everything kicks off. What exactly happened and then we'll maybe touch on what exactly the powers the police currently have in the UK? Do you know what I find it frustrating. I see so many people who for once have actually defended me or defended what happened. News presenters, television presenters, radio hosts, but they still want to put this doubt over the fact I'm a journalist. I have produced in the last 24 months six feature-length films and investigative pieces. It's more than any other journalist or any other documentary has made. I go to events. I put one up yesterday. I went to Poland to cover their Independence Day. Why did I go there? Because the BBC News told you it was 60,000 Nazis marching. So I went there to give a fair appraisal of what was happening on the ground. I put another one up last night when I went to the Football Lads Alliance march. I went there because the BBC decided, because there was no trouble, not to even cover it. And anyone else labelled them as far right. So I went to see who was there. Lo and behold, lots of non-white people, people weren't far right, political persuasions from all different. I go there to give the public, which the public trusts me to do, a fair appraisal and I ask questions that I think should be asked as a journalist, which unfortunately mainstream journalists do not ask. And when I go to these events, I also question the journalists. That's why I went to this anti-Semitism march to do. I have done countless demonstrations like this. I've done pro-EU demonstrations where I've gone and questioned people about the European union, the money, the influence, who's in control of it. I've done this, it's what I do, yeah, it's my full-time job as a journalist and I went there this day, I would have gone and supported because I'm on that side, yeah, but I was there in the capacity as a journalist. When I see people casting doubt over this, I just think you're casting doubt, you're not even a journalist, you don't investigate anything, you just repeat what you're told to repeat and then you've got the audacity, like I had some Sky News presenter when I was at the Anti-Semitist one, questioning me. I think you've just bought Hamas's propaganda. I've watched you. I've watched your news channel. I've actually exposed your news channel, Jason Farrell, through covert recordings. I've exposed that you manipulate the public, you fool them and lie to them and deceive them, where you put voiceovers that weren't to a certain question. You actually change the entire narrative of what was said and fool people. So I went there to give a report. When I arrived, I sat down in a cafe to get breakfast. I was then approached by the police, who told me that my presence could cause alarm and distress. To whom? And then they stood and watched outside waiting. And all they would have seen was me have a great reception from people. Photos, smiley, happy, all normal people, not far right like the usual accusations by them. But they then, when I went to leave the cafe to start my reporting to question people, and I sat and done it in the cafe, I asked people why they're here, why is it important for them to be here, what's your views of the police's response? Because when they're talking about alarm and distress, my presence causing alarm and distress. We have 40,000 Muslims on a terror watch list, yeah? We have Hizbut tahrir, prescribed terrorist organisations in most countries, holding rallies. The day before I was in London, holding a rally, calling for Muslim armies, Muslim armies, they're meant to be on a ceasefire protest but they're calling for Muslim armies, all these different things. We've got people calling from the river to the sea, we've got people calling for the destruction of the only Jewish state, we've got them calling to gas the Jews, we've got all, we're witnessing this, we're seeing mosque after mosque after mosque, preacher after preacher after preacher, spouting the most hatred we've seen and the public have seen. No one's facing arrest, no one's facing prosecution, none of their freedoms are limited, they're not being kicked out of their capital cities. So the exposé of a two-tier policing system, Sadiq Khan's Met Police Force, coming down on me, who was totally law-abiding that day, I was at work. In fact, section 35 of their own legislation says that if someone's at work, paid to be somewhere, they cannot give them a dispersal order. But this comes into the argument where they do not want to recognise I'm a journalist. And that's because they wish to control what journalists they have. The mainstream media never give the true effect. None of their reporting is factual. They do not ask the questions that need to be asked. Whether it be grooming, whether it be the Hamas conflict, none of them go where needs to go, where you need to go and the questions that need to be asked. So they wish to control it. As anyone would have seen, I was calm. I left the cafe. I didn't get a chance to leave. I was surrounded by 30 police officers. I was manhandled, they dragged me the wrong way, realised they dragged me the wrong way, pulled me back the other way. I was trying to explain to them, if you're gonna kick me out of here, he's got my car keys. I need my car keys, my mate, that you've just dragged me away from. So if you just think you're dumping me down the road and saying, leave, I can't. My car's here. So I was trying to explain this and then boom, then they started manhandling me more. They pulled me down, they put my hands behind my back, handcuffed me. During this process, he pulled my head back and CS sprayed me from point blank range. Insane when you watch this. If this had happened to a non-white citizen, in fact, If this has happened in China, Russia or any of these countries, every politician in our country would be up in arms. They'd be screaming about it. They'd be talking about free speech, about the importance of freedom of the press. And I haven't seen one single politician mention the fact that I was manhandled, violently attacked by the police and had my rights and my freedoms taken from me. And right now they're taken from me still, Peter. I'm supposed to be in London in two days. I was supposed to be in London on Thursday to interview the Jordanian opposition leader I was supposed to be interviewing. I was supposed to be doing a sit-down with a Dubai News Channel. My job is now affected, my activism, if I want to do activism is affected. I'm currently banned from going within the m25 or I'm taking straight to prison. I'm not allowed to associate, protest, be involved in a protest. Like, they're my rights. I didn't do anything. It's like you may want to take my rights but I'm not going to surrender it to you. That's why on that day it's like leave. Why would I leave? I haven't done anything. I'm not just going to let you take my freedoms like without... Well, the whole thing of journalism because there, up to now, thank God, we haven't had an official list like you may get in some countries where the government approve some and don't approve other. It is if you're producing content, if you're interviewing, if you're putting news out, then you are a journalist. There is no, you don't have to have a NUJ card to define you as a journalist. I don't think our politicians or police know that. Police think you do. It's like, no. I've actually gone through court cases where I've got the transcripts and the judges recognize me as a journalist. I'm recognized as a journalist. It's my full-time job. You don't get to choose who's a journalist, thankfully, yeah, because we know what you do when you control the media. When citizen journalists started rising and challenging your narrative, you then try to control it through big tech. The government's put pressure on private businesses to influence. We've seen it on the Twitter files. You've seen it time and time again. We saw with Russell Brand recently. Exactly what's happening there has happened to all citizen journalists. It's why X, Twitter, is so important, as Elon Musk said, citizen journalism is the future, yeah? No one can sway what I say, or the narrative, or the news I give, no one can do that. So I don't have no big sponsorships or advertisers that can tell me what I can and can't say. So I will go and ask raw questions and give raw detail and raw footage, and challenge them, and challenge what they're saying. And they don't like that. It's not just that they don't like that, I believe there was a total other plan to this. I believe that if you look at, I organised for people to come and defend Armistice Day to make sure that our two-minute silence was not disrupted by Hamas jihadi supporters. Thousands upon thousands of men attended. Within 48 hours of being given back my social media and my voice, I received a letter from the Attorney General warning me that they're looking at prosecuting me for contempt of court because I created a film called Silenced. They gave me an injunction preventing you, the public, from seeing what's in that film. That film is a total expose with covert recordings. It shows that they are corrupt. They spent money to control the truth. They silenced people. The lengths they go to, to make sure they are in control of that narrative, is insane. All documented in the film. They really don't want the world watching that film, so they then give me an injunction saying I get two years in jail if anyone watches the film. The film was leaked seven months ago, but for seven months I heard nothing. I'm giving back my voice on social media. 48 hours later, I'm threatened by the Attorney General. I told the Attorney General politely with my legal team to fuck off. Again, you are not...  In good Elon Musk style. You are not taking my freedom of speech. I'm not surrendering to you. I will not give it up to you. You may wish to take it. Well, to take it, you're going to have to put me in jail. I'm not just going to accept that you are limiting my freedom of speech, limiting my freedom of assembly when I've done nothing wrong. If I get before a judge on contempt of court, tell me what's in the film that's incorrect. There's nothing in that's incorrect. It's a school record. It's covert recordings of seven teachers saying that they were paid. You paid them. Who paid them? The leader of the Muslim, the leader of the local Kirklees council who's now resigned for fraud, whose brother is the Islamic radical imam who made sure the Batley school teacher is still in hiding. He's the one who has organized all the protests. Our councils have been infiltrated, our governments have been infiltrated, every institution in our country been infiltrated. I made a documentary that proved it and guess what? The judiciary's infiltrated and all and it all proves it. So as I said within 48 hours I received that letter. I now face two years in jail for that film. It's not a film I put out, it was leaked, I didn't put it out, so I will fight it in court and when I fight it in court they're just going to bring more attention to the film. Like hopefully and especially when people see what just happened last weekend, people are going to realise, shit, they're going for him, this is an establishment attack, they're attempting everything they can and this isn't just, I keep saying it, this is far bigger than Tommy Robinson, you don't have to like me, you don't have to like my history, you don't like my past, you don't have to like what I've said, what I've done, to realise that we should not live in a society where government overreach, police are used, the police are used to attack people and they're not, and then they're used to enforce their laws and actually corrupt their laws and abuse their laws on certain people with certain ideas and then totally stand by with their hands tied behind their back with jihadists and extremists. People have seen it, we just saw the arrest of the Muslim who was kicking off up in Manchester and then the police let him go. They de-arrested him because they faced a mob. So who controls the streets? The mob. The mob. What they're sending out a message is, get violent. Be violent and you'll get what you want. And of course that's going to embolden these Hamas supporters on our streets. But it's also outraging the entire British public who are watching this. And it's something I've spoke about for 15 years I've spoke about from, in fact, if you dig up the article I wrote in 2004 which I used in my Oxford Union speech. I spoke then in my local newspaper about the two-tier policing. Iron fists for us, kid gloves for them. Yeah same with funding. It's funding for their community through the roof. We're ignored, white working class, we're totally ignored by our government and our politicians and our councils but that's something like I think a lot of people have watched what's happened, they don't agree with it. I'm actually going to be in court, Peter. I'm just waiting for a message now. I think I may be in court this Wednesday, if not Monday. So I will be in court to challenge the legalities of my bail conditions. Because if you watched it, I've done nothing wrong. Why am I banned from my capital city? Why are these jihadists not banned from their capital city? Why did you abuse the law to arrest me for doing nothing wrong, yet you pat them on their back when they climb up and desecrate our monuments. Why? It's so blatant what you're doing. It's so blatant to every member of the British public. I don't know if you watched the recent interview I've done with a gentleman up in Leicester, a 70-year-old gentleman, who was also issued a section 35. He was also dragged through his town centre and arrested. So what people need to realise is, if they can do this to me, you may think it's funny that they're doing it to me if you don't like it, but if they can do it to me, they can do it to you. And they're using this to abuse their powers up and down this country against one community. Not against everyone. One community gets off scot-free, the Islamic community. The jihadists, the far-left extremists, if this hasn't been a wake-up call, the unholy alliance of the far-left and the far-right and the Islamists all joining together on this one issue of hating Jews. That's what we're witnessing. So...  Well, look, that's been a... I will pick up on those who have supported you, pick up on your social media reach, but it is that... it's very weird. I'm scratching my head trying to work out this hatred of Israel, calling everyone Zionist shills is the term. I try to scratch my head because my support for Israel is biblical. As a Christian, it goes back to Jerusalem being 3000 years of the capital of Israel. So for me, it's on that history. And then you've got individuals who say, no, these Palestinians, whoever, whatever Palestinians are, and the hatred against the Jews. I've been really surprised at the veracity, the aggression against Israel. I never expected that to happen.  It's not against Israel. Israel's an excuse. It's against Jews. And essentially, you are looking, what you're witnessing with the far right alignment of them, Iran has as much money given to them by America mainly. But Iran, all of these countries are now influencing, They're influencing social media influencers, are receiving funds and money to promote the Quran, to promote Islam, to convert to Islam, all across the globe. You're seeing TikTokers now pushing it and spreading it. There is a bottomless pit of money coming out of that Middle East and they all make the accusations against us. If you don't hate Jews, you're Zionist, you're Mossad, you're funded by the Jews, etc. There is the total opposite. We're witnessing an Iranian proxy army online and on the streets, funded en masse, yeah? Funded en masse. So, and when they go on about, it's like we talk about Jew hatred or we talk about Israel. As I said, I've said this multiple times recently, people need to understand. Mein Kampf's book, Mein Kampf, Hitler's book, has 7% Jew hatred in it. The Quran has 9%, the Hadith have 12%. If a political organisation set up today, and as part of its manifesto, 9% of it was hatred of Jews. Would it be outlawed? Would it be banned? Yes, it would. Why are we giving a special protection to the ideology, not religion, the ideology of Islam, that promotes violence, that promotes hatred, that promotes intolerance, it promotes Jew hatred, it promotes sexual enslavement of non-Muslims. Why is it given a protection that we're not even allowed to talk about it? You're not even allowed to question it. You're not allowed to criticize it. You've thrown out accusations of hate speech. The only real hate speech is coming out of the mosques and they're getting away with it. You're not using the laws you've created. If anyone hasn't seen now, the hate speech laws are not there to stop hate speech. They're there to stop you criticizing what they're pushing. And Islam is being pushed on all of us. And it's like Mein Kampf is banned? The Quran is pushed and celebrated and the influence and the social media influences that everyone can now see all over the world who are pushing this agenda, in America, across the globe. They're pushing this agenda, they're the ones receiving their funds, they're the ones getting paid for it. I've always stood and said openly, look it's not difficult. Hamas are ISIS. Hamas have already come out and said, first the Jews then the Christians. Their statement, not mine. Listen to what they're saying, they're not talking about, they talk about the kuffar, they talk about the infidels, it's all of us. If you do not think, and I keep saying even to these far-right morons. Say listen, if they've murdered 1500 Jews and they've slaughtered, they've raped, look how emboldened they've become in every Western nation. They're not bothered. This has given them, we will see more jihad. We've just seen an arrest yesterday for a planned attack in Las Vegas, We've seen a French attack. The man who'd done the France attack had already been arrested previously for planning another attack. Yeah, planning. What's he even doing on the street? These people are at war with us. Intern them. Get them off the street. You know they're a risk. Get rid of them. 3,000 Muslims are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week because we know they're planning to attack us. Get rid. If they've got dual nationality passports, fuck them off. They've got to go. The time for sitting anymore is gone. How many more of our people do you want to see killed? Now if Israel was conquered by these jihadists, they've tried it many times before, they made it clear in the seven-day war all the leaders of the surrounding Islamic nations come out and said we're gonna take your women, we're taking them as slaves. Everything is Quranic, everything is scripturally inspired. Stop pretending it's about Israel. And if they've done that, if say for example to these brain-dead morons who keep talking about freeing Palestine and attacking Israel. Do you think if the jihadists conquered Israel and they wipe out and then they're in control of Jerusalem and every Christian holy site, do you think you're going to have the right to go there to all the Christians? What do you think it's going to look like as a nation? What's it going to look like in the Islamic State? And do you think they stop there? Do you not understand jihad? Do you not understand their mindset of Islamic supremacy to rule and dominate the world. Not to rule and dominate Israel. Israel is the first step and it's coming for the rest of us. You don't see them coming through Europe. You don't see what's going to happen. It's just, it's pretty infuriating when you see the alignment of all these people joining together and it has become vocal and it has become loud and that's because they are, I'd say many of them paid, but they are also, they also have their staunch beliefs so they're very loud, isn't it? But if you go out day to day and get out of the bubbles of online, you realise the vast majority of the British public stand on the side of Israel. Maybe not the youngsters, which is why, so you see the American election now, I've been watching what's happening in America, this American election 2024 is the most important in their country's history. You see, if the Republicans do not win this, and the 4 million that have come through the borders now becomes 8 million, 12 million, of dependents who will vote for Democrats. There will never be a Republican government again. And not just there will never be a Republican government again. If you look at the mindset of the elders and the youngers in the United States and in Great Britain, our education systems have been totally infiltrated. They are winning that war. So the 16 to 24 year olds hate Israel. The extremism, look at teachers having to hide because they went to a pro-Israel rally and hundreds of students getting violent. In universities across the United States, you have one chance now, it's 2024, You need to elect a leader who's going to challenge it, stop it, stop the funding to these universities, schools, colleges, stop the sexualisation of the kids, stop the transgender movement and the push for it, stop the Islamisation, stop the anti-Jew hatred. You've got one chance. It's this year. Because after this year, America, I'm surprised how fast it's accelerated. We've been warning about it. I've been trying to warn America and giving speeches back to America since 2009, simply saying, listen, I know, I've had it, I've seen my town change. One mosque in 1982 to 45 now, you're in trouble. And we're seeing now the influence like, you're seeing all the politicians who are resigning from the Labour Party, they're on their stance on the Israel-Palestinian conflict. They're the ones that have large support, they're voters are Muslim, so they're changing their stances based on their base, yeah? Well that Muslim population, the majority of them want homosexuality outlawed. At which point in the future do you not think these politicians are going to be pushing that? The majority of them, 50 percent, said they would not report on a, 50 percent of British Muslims, not report on someone if they knew they were fighting for ISIS. 50 percent, 75 percent wouldn't report on someone getting involved in extremism. We've got a massive problem here, a huge problem. Four times as many British Muslims joined ISIS, went to fight for ISIS, never joined the British military. So we have their alignment will be with Islam first, Islam second, Islam third. Not democracy, not our rule of law, not their political parties, Islam. You have to understand Islam. People need to get their heads out of their arse, start researching who Muhammad was, start really understanding what the agenda of Islam will be. What do you think, and I'm going to do this, I'm working on something now, yeah. You go to cities, go to Manchester, look at the Christmas market. It's fortified. It has bollards this big. We'll call them diversity barriers, yeah. It's fortified. You've got armed police with machine guns. Do you know the promotion for the Manchester Christmas market is where you can buy your halal meat at the Christmas market. Your halal meat. Where do you buy your bacon sandwich? At the Eid celebrations. We're totally changing everything. Now you look at Manchester, then look, they've just banned the one in, they've cancelled the most historic Christmas market in the UK has now been cancelled. The Jewish festivals are getting cancelled. Go to Paris, Christmas market was cancelled. Go and look in Germany, we've just had more arrests this week of men who were planning another terrorist attack on a Christmas market. We had the previous Christmas attack. I'm going to Germany in two weeks to show people what their Christmas markets now look like. 5% Muslim population, yeah. I'm going to also go to Eastern Europe to show you how beautiful their Christmas markets are, how free and safe they are. What's the difference? It's the Islamic community. Now 5%, what do you think it looks like when you've got 20%? Do you think your children are going to enjoy the same freedoms you've enjoyed? Do you think your Christmas celebrations are going to continue to be the same? No, they're not. More are going to get massacred, more are going to get killed. It's going to become dangerous. say this out loud, it's now dangerous to go to a Christmas market in Great Britain. What do you want for your kids? What point do you say enough's enough? What point do we look and say hold on a minute, we're losing our freedoms, we're losing our culture, we're losing our identity, while you throw diversity down our throat and we're not going to tolerate it anymore. I want my kids to go to a free and safe Christmas market but we don't have them anymore, yeah, but that's at five percent. The increasing demographic of the Islamic community is going to continue to rise yeah because we're allowing it to. We give benefits, stop benefits for more than two, my local imam's got three wives and 14 kids. End it! Stop it! We're paying for it. They've got three houses. Just that one Muslim man has three separate houses with 14 children in it that we pay for. Okay, we are paying for our own demise. We are funding our own takeover. So at some point, and again I'll stress, yes there's some lovely Muslims, but I want freedom for my children, okay, and those lovely Muslims ain't stopping anything. Yeah, they're not stopping it. We need to stop it. Our governments need to stop it. We need to elect leaders like Geert Wilders, Hopefully Le Pen wins, I hope Filip Dewinter, I hope we see the rise of these leaders. I know that overton window is going to shift, what is acceptable to say now, certainly after Geert Wilders' election, after he stormed the election. The mood of Europe has changed, the people are awakening and unfortunately we still have total cowards in our parliament. I can't see one political party in the UK, currently the main ones anyway, that will address these issues or talk about. I've seen many people even on our so-called GB News saying, well, Geert Wilders can't agree with all of his policies. Really? Which one? Because he's putting his people first. He's defending his country first. And that's his job. That's why he's elected to do so now, yeah, is to protect Dutch people. End the immigration now. Stop endangering us now. Stop adding to the problem. When you solve the problem, maybe look at it, but at the minute it needs to stop. But we're seeing that political hoop across Europe, AFD, they're panicking with their rise and of course Freedom Party in Austria. But I want to ask you about support. I've been pleasantly surprised with some of the voices who've come out to support you and I don't know on the journalism side, I don't know whether, not on the political side, of course not, but on the journalism side, and I don't know whether some journalists are thinking, well, if they come for Tommy because he's simply reporting on an event, they'll come for me. I don't know if it's about themselves, but maybe talk about some of the, when this goes out tonight, you'll have been on TNT with James Freeman. I saw you with Mahyar Tousi. Tell us about some of those positive sides because journalists are wakening up and therefore the message gets out further. I'll say certain ones of them are legit, Mahyar Tousi's legit. I've watched him for not just recent but before it was acceptable to speak out, he was speaking out. Some of them now I think are turning because they realize it's acceptable to turn. It's like, they realise that the public mood's there. You just have to read the comments on any article that's negative about me. Read the comments. Any journalist that comes out and slates me and says anything negative about me, just read the comments. They realise the public are not on that side, yeah? The public are awake and they're just jumping, like many of them do, like politicians do, when it becomes mainstream. All the people who have said Tommy Robinson's toxic, don't want to stand near him, can't speak about him, they'll all then be wanting to. And I find it frustrating at times, as I see people and I think, mate, since 2009 we've been banging this drum. If you'd have listened back then and you wouldn't have gone with the far-right racist label, which is total lies, totally unfounded, zero evidence of, in fact all the evidence that any research has done shows the total opposite. We're a moderate voice. You will end up getting real extreme voices if you continue to suppress the public. But I just think I've been encouraged as well that people are, I've been encouraged that mainstream platforms are having these discussions. And unfortunately a lot of people have had to sacrifice a lot of things. I'm not just talking about myself. There's lots of people who are tempted to have these conversations, who would have lost their jobs, who would have been frowned upon, who have been labelled by their families, by their friends, by their community, by politicians, anything. We're seeing it in Ireland now. Ireland's going through the same faze. Anyone who says anything racist, far-right, extremist, that will break. That dam is breaking. It's going to break and people will not care. Influential figures like Conor McGregor help that. The more influential figures that have these discussions, I just watched the Trigonometry podcast recently with a grooming victim and the fact that she's sitting explaining to them that it is religious, it is racial, yeah, it's unthinkable that a mainstream podcast would have been too scared to have that discussion. A truthful, honest discussion on where the hate comes from, which is what we need to do. We need to understand where the hate's come from. Stop, oh it's from, it's because of the Israeli conflict. No, it's not, right. What, take Israel out of the equation, you don't think there's no hate here? What about all the rapes of the entire generation of our daughters? Where do you think that comes from? We're not even allowed to examine it. You're just called an Islamophobe or an ist or an ism, whatever word they use at the minute to beat you down. No, I want to stop the rapes. I want to stop the Islamisation of my nation. I don't want to just stop it, I want to de-Islamise it, because there's so many people here who shouldn't be here. They're guests here. Many of these people, the man who beheaded Samuel Paty, the schoolteacher, who the pupils actually set him up, children set him up to be beheaded. The man who beheaded him was not, he had come to France, he's a guest in France. These are radical jihadists. Get rid of them, right? Send them back. We don't want them here. At that point of just worrying about offending people has gone. The whole European Court of human rights. They're jihadists. We're at war, they want to kill us. Get rid. We're fed up of watching as children or families are blown to pieces and forever have to pick up the pieces for someone who shouldn't even be here. We just need leaders to come out and be strong. I think that Douglas Murray has been incredibly strong on this issue and helping to make people aware. And it's so important that people who have platforms just start speaking the truth. It's not hatred to say you do not want jihadists walking the streets with us. It's not hatred to point out that you have no idea who's coming in. They just admitted they've lost 17,000. In that 17,000 migrants, how many of them have a jihadist mindset? In fact, all you have to do is go through Pew Research of the countries they've come to, to understand that they shouldn't be here anyway. Their values and their mindset and their beliefs don't fit with Western values. Sharia law of the European Court of Human Rights already rules Sharia law, this is coming back to 2007, is incompatible with Western democracy and freedom. So anybody wants Sharia law, see you later, you've got to go, you're not welcome here. And to say that is not extreme, it's not hatred, it's now current, it's needed. We have to have brave, fearless voices in this debate and argument and sensible as well. It's sensible to say we do not want an alien ideology here that wishes to enslave our people, that wishes to overthrow our democracy and replace it and that voice will only get louder as the demographic changes. Tell us, just to finish off with you on, obviously, when actually did you find out you were back on Twitter? I was in Spain, sitting in a restaurant, and I was just... I saw... It pop up, @TRobinsonNewEra. I was like, what the fuck? And I was like, and so I had to check. And I was like, that's my account. It had 300,000 followers, it had 305,000, but my account had 475. So I was a bit confused. That shows they must've deleted another 170,000 people. They deleted our whole movement. They deleted, the same with Facebook. When Facebook, when Facebook deleted me, I had 1.2 million followers. But what they'd done is, anyone who had shared my stuff positively was also then deleted. So what they'd done was they cleared Facebook of our entire movement. They got rid of the entire movement of truth-tellers, people who were opposed to the Islamisation and open border immigration. They got rid of all of them. And that wasn't, so they made me a person of hate in 2019 or whatever, yeah? They went back to people who had posted three years prior, before I was a person of hate, and started deleting all their accounts. But yeah, I realised and then I looked and then do you know what? I don't remember any passwords. Anyone who knows me knows this, yeah? every time I get locked out of my phone, or every time I get a phone taken off my by the police, I can never get back into my iCloud. I have to start a new iCloud. So what happened, I sat there and I thought, well, that's my account. I don't know the password to the email address. I don't know the password to the account. So I'm looking at it. I want to be straight on there. It was a frustrating 48 hours. I'm thinking, I want a tweet. I'm back. He's giving back my account. but I couldn't so it was a yeah it's frustrating and then, and then thank you to Ian in the United States who managed to get my email address changed for me so then I received an email and then I was thinking is it true, is it real, are they gonna do this and then I received an email from them saying here's access to your account. Then I danced around my room, screamed a lot, shouted a lot, and thought, here we go, we're back, let's awaken the British public. I had to watch as all the hard work we'd done to educate people from 2009, 2015, 2017, was being undone through a highly funded propaganda piece to make Islam fashionable. It was then becoming fashionable. It's like, what? Influencers were all converting, probably under the influence of mass amounts of money, mass amounts of money. I think that what Qatar, what Saudi Arabia, what Dubai realise, do you know if you look at the figures, I've gone through this, of how much they spent to influence Islam in Europe. Look at Qatar and France. Qatar literally funds the entire Islamic community in France to build mosques, to build madrasas. Their goal, like Luton town centre, my hometown, has a shop called Discover Islam. It's funded hugely. It has a shop. Their job, and I'll quote the man who opened it, who when he opened it, my local Luton council opened it with him, his job was to bring Islam into every home in Luton. These are conversion centres funded massively. And that's where the influence used to be, getting them out on the street and converting them. Then they realised the influence is with this. It's with social media influencers. If they can get certain individuals, Andrew Tate, lots of others, Sneako, all over people are converting, boxers are doing it. I'd ask how much are these people receiving? Because what they now realise is, if we can get in, he's got the next generation of youth. If we get him to start putting out Quranic verses, how cool Islam is, telling people that Islam is the only solution to these problems, then they are converting more than they could ever dream of for a fraction of the money, because they spend billions building mosques, building madrassas, pushing it and their goal, all of them, is to influence with Islam on our country, on our people, on your children. So now I'm back. I feel that I can enlighten the public to the true nature of Islam and the dangers of it and that again is not like, look, not every Muslim, but I think most Muslims are naïve to the agenda of Islam. Most Muslims who you say are beautiful people, who I know are beautiful people, do not follow the Quran to the literal interpretation. They're not following it word to word. They pick the good bits and ignore the bad bits. I'm sorry, with the growing influence of Islam on Europe, you cannot ignore the bad news. We cannot continue to have our borders open with all this hatred that spewed against us, with these people who are being brought up from the age of four or five, indoctrinated to believe this is the word of God, to believe Mohammed who beheaded 600 in one day, who raped children, who murdered, who tortured, to believe he was perfect. Far from it. We need a big discussion on it and now's the time. It was great to see you back and when you and Katie were put back on the same day.  I messaged Katie and she didn't know. I said, your account's back, our account's back. She was like, what? She didn't know, she looked the fuck out. But she didn't know, yeah, I messaged her. And then she put a tweet out and I was thinking, I can't even put a tweet out. It was so good. And of course, the other two that were persona non grata are Bannon and Alex Jones in the States. And I'm intrigued why they... Gavin McInnes got his back recently. Gavin McGuinness got his back.  Okay, yes, I saw Gavin get his yes, yes. I have hope. And everyone who hasn't broke the law, these are Elon Musk's words. If you haven't committed a crime, if you haven't used your platform to commit a crime, I've never been arrested for anything, hate crime, racial, I've never even been arrested for any of it. Everything I put out is factual and backed up by scripture or evidence. And unfortunately, we went through five or six years where the truth and facts were deemed as hate speech. Elon Musk has given us back our ability to have discussions, free and open discussions, which is the way, which is what's needed, even with Muslims and with their imams and with their leaders. Let's talk, let's debate and let the public make their own mind up. They're going to be on our side. 100%. Let me just leave people with the books again. Trsilenced.com, trsilenced.com. Get a hold of them by buying the books you support, Tommy, and if you've had them before, or get another copy and pass it on to a friend, wrap it up as a Christmas gift. Tommy, thanks so much for coming on. Always good to have you and thanks for coming. If I'm successful in having my conditions removed, I'll see you on the 12th. Sounds good, I will see you then. Thanks so much, Tommy.  See you later, bruv.

A Clare Independent TD believes Dee Forbes should be compelled to appear before Oireachtas Committees. It follows confirmation from the Director General of RTÉ today, that she is to step down with immediate effect. Dee Forbes' term as Director General was due to end on July 11th, but instead, she stood down today with immediate effect, saying she regrets the upset caused to staff in recent days. She said she led the negotiations with Ryan Tubridy's agent on his contract deal in 2020 and the arrangement arrived at was discussed with financial and legal colleagues - adding she didn't act contrary to any advice. Both the Oireachtas Media and Public Accounts Committee want to question Ms Forbes and other RTÉ representatives this week. That looks unlikely in light of the resignation, but Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said she should. A Clare Independent TD has echoed those sentiments, saying she was effectively in a tax payer-funded position spending monies raised through the licence fee. Michael McNamara also says there has to be a clear separation between what is public service broadcasting and what's commercial broadcating, if RTÉ wants to justify the licence fee. Otherwise, the Scariff TD says he finds it difficult to see how it can continue as is. The National Union of Journalists says, meanwhile, that the resignation of Dee Forbes raises several fundamental issues. In a statement, the NUJ says it would now be appropriate for the Chair of the RTÉ Board to meet with each member of the Executive Board. Secretary of the Union Seamus Dooley says it would be to clarify their individual involvement, if any, or their knowledge of the arrangements to facilitate additional payments to Ryan Tubridy. The statement goes on to say it would be a matter for the board to deal with the outcome of those meetings.

Thank you so much for being with us today. (Dr Niall McCrae) Always good to be on on a Saturday evening with you, Peter. What else would you be doing apart from having a one-hour chat with me? Always good fun. So let's play the first one. ChrisDavis33 is first on on GETTR. There you go. No prizes, but good to see you. But this was a There's a one minute comedy clip that James Wells had put up. I think Steve Kirsch also put it up. So let's play this. (video plays) I regret having gotten the, I really regret having gotten the vaccine. I'm sure it's fine, but I just wish when the state told me to do something, I'd be the sort of person who said no. But it turns out, I'm the sort of person who says, fine, I don't understand, you're telling me it's important, okay, and all they had to do was say, you won't be allowed to go into pubs for like a month, and I was like, put it in me. That's what I'm upset about, is that I had a principle, temporarily. Like, oh, if I was in Nazi Germany, I would have stood up to the regime. I wouldn't stand up to not being able I go to a pub for a month. I would have been like, Anne Frank, she's in that attic. There, I saw her. It doesn't matter what the point of principle was. The point is I would have been a chill. And that, I have to live with that for the rest of my three or four more years before I have a heart attack. Always good to start with a laugh. I think humour is one thing It's probably taken us through the last three years. I don't know about you, but I've certainly enjoyed many of the memes and artists people like Bob Moran, Abi Roberts, I mean tons of people who've helped us all through it. Oh yes, indeed. And a feature of the anti-lockdown rallies was the positivity and, humour and just humanity, really. They were trying to quash us. They were trying to to oppress us and deprive us of our kind of vitality. And it didn't work. And like you say, humour is one of the most powerful things. Definitely didn't work. Let's go to the next story. We might have a slight delay in sound, but let's bring it up. I'll read it and then we'll take it from there. And this is an article by Niall himself. And this is the Conservative Women who are regularly are the only voice on this issue. And they've blazed a trail and speaking truth on this when many others wouldn't. And this piece is towing the party line, MPs answers to the 10 big questions. And in this, I'll just read the first few lines. What do our parliamentary representatives really think about climate change, COVID-19, migrant channel crossings and transgenderism? Two months ago, I presented 10 questions for readers to send to their MPs. By the time of writing, 14 MPs had responded with 11 sets of answers. So you'd put a range of questions down and members of the public have taken those and sent them on to their MPs. And the answers have come back. And I, again, the link to this, if you're watching on, certainly on Rumble, the link will be there in the description. We will certainly be reposting this, if my mod team can hear me, on our social medias. But of course you can find it on Niall's Gab account. Neil, tell us a little bit about this, because what were you expecting? And tell us the response that you got back. Boris Johnson got that huge majority in December 2019, big mandate, and he could potentially have done everything that was pledged in the manifesto. Then COVID-19 came along and, well, you know, whatever you believe about COVID, let's just say that that was certainly a disruptor to the whatever program that Boris Johnson was going to carry out. But if you look at his behaviour, you know, once the sort of urgency of COVID, you know, that first wave, once that settled down, Boris Johnson went straight into this build back better mode, didn't he? Which is all about focusing on climate change. And he was allowing all this, he did nothing really to stop the Black Lives Matter, woke wave in summer 2020. And now that leads me to why we did this 10 questions for MPs. Because when you think about it, Peter, and I'm sure your viewers will be well aware of this, is that almost everything that's being done by those who are leading us are not things that we asked for. None of us asked for mass uncontrolled immigration. None of us asked for net zero. None of us asked for, well, I mean, obviously there was plenty of people that were in support of the COVID regime, but that wasn't part of the manifesto. None of us asked for our teachers in schools to be telling children that they can be whatever gender they want, and this transgenderism ideology. So there's all these things going on. The most prominent things going on in our society that none of us have asked for. So I put together a series of 10 questions for constituents to send to their MPs. And we got responses from just a few. It's just not a scientific survey. We don't know how many MPs were sent the questions, but we got responses from Rishi Sunak, no less, and some of his ministers, mostly Tory MPs. And we, I had this article published on Conservative Women two days ago. Since then, I've had two more responses. So it's just added to it a little bit. So there's an updated version going up on new Conservative website on Monday. But the thing is, Peter, that the sample size would sound very small. So 16 MPs, of which only 13 have actually provided a full set of answers to 10 questions. But what we found, you know, I used to teach research methods in university. And with qualitative research, something you teach is saturation point. Saturation point is where there's no point in carrying on interviewing people, because you're getting the same answers. And we very, very quickly reached what we might call saturation point with our responses to these questions. They are all following the narrative. There is hardly any. I mean, one of the respondents was John Redwood, and he was only one that gave any sign of scepticism about things that were going on, and even then only limited. Look, they're all following the narrative, it's like they're in a parallel universe and you know if anyone wants to look at the response to those, answers given by MPs go on the Conservative Women website where there's a couple of hundred comments from people, you know, just saying, if this is who's leading us, then we really are in trouble. And let me just, just as we finish, the questions are, do you believe there is a climate change? Do you believe that COVID was a deadly pandemic? Do you believe that lockdown was necessary? Do you believe COVID vaccines are safe and effective? So I have to even laugh whenever safe and effective is used now. Do you support billions of pounds of military supplies going to Ukraine? Do you regard the tens of thousands of people crossing the English Channel as refugees? Do you believe it's safe for dozens of undocumented male migrants to be housed in our towns or boats? Do you support teaching of transgender ideology to our children? If you do not agree with any of the above, what are you doing to oppose such a policy? And finally, what is a woman? I mean, it's a beautiful range of questions, Niall. I'd encourage everyone, the article there, toeing the party line on conservative women. Yes, and it's not too late for anyone who's watching tonight, if you want to take those questions and send them to your own GP, MP, sorry. And I'm always willing to update and refresh the results. A couple of interesting things about who answered the questions. So got 16 responses but only 13 actually really answered the questions. Only one of them was female. You know, we have all this much better female representation now, at least in numbers, but the reality is this type of woman who's representing us in Parliament has got little interest in the ordinary wishes of women and girls, for example, to have safe spaces. Their own toilets in a theatre, for example, they don't really care. The type of woman who is in Parliament, they don't care. And I reckon that the question in that survey, what is a woman, that made him think, I'm not going to get into this. Too much for the minefield. Yeah. Well, let's move on to something a little bit different, which is the election. Is this the election, ProJam? No. Let's pull up the election story. Obviously, we've had local elections, and this one was another very good article from Niall McCrae. A pattern here. You have to check out Niall on The Conservative Woman. It just happened these were the first two stories. But on this, empty polling stations, are we still living in a democracy? And Niall, you were pointing out that in many parts of the country the turnout was 30%. Which meant 70%. And I always kind of used, when I was growing up, thinking, well if people don't vote is up to them, it's their problem. But actually, everyone has to participate in the democratic process. If people don't participate, then it's no longer a democratic process. But tell us about your thoughts on this, that people can find on The Conservative Woman. Yes, well, are we living in a democracy when the vast majority of people don't vote? Now, obviously the rebuttal of that is that everyone can vote, you know, it's up to them and if they don't vote that's their own fault. But the trouble is that increasingly, certainly the last three years, people have woken up more and more to the fact that we're run by a uni-party. It doesn't matter whether you've got a Labour government or a Tory government and if we had a Lib Dem government or a Green Party government, we'd still get the same policies. There might be a slightly different flavour and there might be a slightly different presentation, but it would be basically the same thing that's going on. And what we're seeing increasingly, Peter, is that this isn't just something that applies to national government. Up and down the country, you've got councils introducing 15-minute cities and 20-minute neighbourhoods, low traffic schemes, that sort of thing, and they try and make out as if this is just something they've made up themselves, you know, to like make the air healthier and make the, you know, reduce pollution and so on. They're lying to us. This is all Agenda 2030. Right, or Agenda 21, it's basically the same ideas. This is United Nations, this is a globalist, this is a World Economic Forum. It doesn't matter who you've got representing you in your local council, your city chambers, or in Westminster, or in the devolved assemblies in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, it doesn't matter, they're all following the same agenda, as they are in all other developed countries. And people have woken up to this and unfortunately the response is not to all get behind some new party that's going to, overturn this establishment. It's very, very hard to do that. I mean there are some people working very hard such as David Kurten of the Heritage Party, Robin Tilbrook of the English Democrats, for example, and Andrew Bridgen joined Lawrence Fox's reclaimed party. But it is extremely difficult. I mean, we saw that with UKIP. Very, very, very difficult to get. You saw it with the Brexit party. They did very well in the last European elections, but they were not going to get anywhere, not get a single MP in the general election that followed soon after. So it's very, very difficult. And so people are responding to this situation by simply not voting at all, or going and spoiling their paper, saying none of the above, or more choice language than that. And I don't blame people. I don't blame people for feeling that it's futile voting. I wish there was a good party that we could get behind that would readily change things, but there just isn't that at the moment. But as I say, I do admire the people who are trying to change that situation. Can I ask just your thoughts for a minute on that, because I'm the same as you on the side-lines regarding political parties, and I couldn't, I would have difficulty voting at the moment for anyone. And I love what David's done with the Heritage Party. The English Democrats are wonderful in what they're doing. But with Andrew Bridgen speaking at that event I was at today, a name joining reclaim, I'm intrigued by that because he could have stayed as an independent but he's joined a party. Obviously reform were not an option because they've jab, jab, jab. I guess English Democrats could have been an option that's because heritage. But I'm wondering will that, not that that will change the whole landscape of British politics, no. But I think that will be a nudge, quite a big change and what are your thoughts on that? Yes, I've heard people raising this question, why didn't he stay as an independent? What you've got to try and do is put yourself in the shoes of Andrew Bridgen and, you know, David Kurten and I, who, you know, just mentioned a while ago, we've had many chats. David's been a keen student of cultural Marxism for many years. And, you know, one of the books that David and I often talk about is Saul Alinsky, Rules for Radicals. And, you know, the people that are in charge now are basically the anti-establishment types of the 60s and 70s. And they're now in charge, they've created a new establishment. And one of the rules for radicals is that if there's somebody kicking up some opposition to what you're doing, then you isolate them, you target them, you really freeze your focus on that person, and you make their life utterly intolerable. And that's exactly what was happening with Andrew Bridgen. Has any man been so disproportionately targeted in the last year or so? I mean, we can think of some other examples as well, such as Tommy Robinson or Julian Assange, but at the moment, it's Andrew Bridgen. And so I don't blame him at all for joining a party, a party that stands for free speech, and that he's now a member of a group. He's got people with him to support him. And I think that's important for the establishment to know, that if they do try and isolate people and persecute them, then there are sanctuaries. And that's what I see the Reclaim party as being, you know, Reclaim has got some quite, you know, genuine, really genuine people like Calvin Robinson involved. I've never been quite sure about Lawrence Fox, but he says a lot of the right things. He's doing a lot of the right things, but Martin Daubney was involved as well. So they've got some good people. And I don't blame Andrew Bridgen at all for taking the decision that he did. We'll see a play out in British politics. Let's stay on the Conservative Woman, but we are leaving the authorship of Dr. McCrae. Dr. Ahmed Malik, someone who is new onto my scene, and probably new into many people's scenes. He has written this piece for Conservative Woman, COVID, the Destruction of Medical Ethics and Trust in the Medical Profession, Part 1. It is a fascinating read from a doctor, someone who has qualified 25 years ago and he gave some of his story in this. And he talks about, just starts, when it comes to the last three years, there's a lot I do not know. What I do know is that I have many questions. Was the pandemic a plandemic? It certainly felt like it. Did the virus skip from a lab? What exactly is a virus? What's the role of the US Department of Defence? And he delves into this. And I am thankful to doctors like this for putting their thoughts down so openly and honestly in this article and it gives us an insight into their experience and how they're seeing things because many of us do not have a medical background and therefore we look at things through a simple lens. But Niall, it's people like Dr. Malik actually writing pieces like this and opening it up that will really help us the public. Yeah it's very necessary and you know there's some controversy about Dr. Asseem Malhotra the cardiologist you know because he'd been shilling for the the vaccines early on, but I think we have to give people... The opportunity, the potential, to change their mind. And I think that's what Dr. Malhotra has done. Andrew Bridgen has done that. Ahmed Malik goes a lot further, I think, than Asseem Malhotra. He's questioning the whole basis of the pandemic or pseudo-pandemic, as I see it. This article that you're bringing up is a really useful read because what we've seen over the last three years is a departure from medical ethics. And people may be aware of the white rose people that do the stickers that people put up on lampposts. Many of these stickers are about, if you wondered why the people of Germany fell for the Third Reich, now you know, because all the doctors and nurses in 1930s Germany were on board, you know. And how did that happen? And, you know, partly this was about them just keeping their heads down, but they also enjoyed the pedestal that they were being put on as officers of the regime. And Ahmed Malik has stepped away from that and he has reminded us what are the true ethics of medicine. And they are autonomy, justice, first do no harm. And beneficence, as in that's all doing good. And the first one of them, autonomy, was the one that was most controversially ditched. People were coerced into taking these experimental injections. But the other three principles as well, were just simply no longer followed. And I found this very difficult, Peter, because I sat on an NHS Research Ethics Committee for many years. And these principles were really important that you always stuck to them. Didn't matter how much you thought this research proposal was interesting. If they were going to be doing something which in any way threatened any of these principles, then you would reject the application. And that was for research. Well, this is for the whole of health care, the whole health care system has been poisoning people with Midazolam. Forcing people to take injections, closing down services, stopping screening and treatment of people with cancer. The mental health impact has been immense. It's really quite dreadful and this is still going on. In fact, in many ways, it's getting worse, where it's getting harder and harder for people to get face-to-face contact with practitioners of a service, national health service, that they've been paying for in their taxes and that they've always lauded and now they find that they're not welcome that um, access is often denied and this is really um quite appalling and so to have doctors like Ahmed Malik stepping out and saying this is not right we we need to get back to proper medical ethics as soon as possible. Yeah. Let's actually touch on that, the Andrew Bridgen as well. I don't know if I sent it over to Projam, we'll not play this, I just want to bring up the tweet. And this is, Andrew, the great vax debate that GB News talked about, and obviously, GB News under Ofcom. This is the regulatory body, communication regulatory body, so they can't say anything which goes against government propaganda. And this was basically Spiked, which is a publication here in the UK, and Andrew Bridgen. It was Fraser Myers from Spiked. And it was, I watched the 13 minutes of it and it's... I would have had respect for Spiked if they had put across a different position in this, but they were simply mocking, smearing, calling Andrew Bridgen anti-vaxxer, conspiracy theorist. And it was rolling out the terms the government use. And I know an organization has asked if they have received money from Pfizer, and then Andrew Bridgen has said it'd be interesting to see what happens in that. But I mean, what are your thoughts on this, Niall? When we see organizations which generally are there for free speech, full free speech, and yet you're not allowed to talk about this because it's dangerous to question the government line. Well, Spiked was my favourite website around 2015 to about 2019. It was actually the first website I wrote for. I met Fraser Myers several times and Brendan O'Neill was my favourite writer. I met him once. I thought these were very, very good people. But, you know, others have said to me, well, wait, just be a little bit cautious with how much you like a website that originated in living Marxism, which was a cultural Marxist organization. And people like Claire Fox, who's now sitting in the House of Lords. And Frank Faridi. You know, these are all people that I've really appreciated over the years. But I think what happened with, and their line on Brexit was very, you know, I thought was very, very good. You know, the way that they defended the working class against the sort of metropolitan elites that was trying to impose and, you know, deny them their, you know, the result of the fair election. But COVID showed that they were not quite what what we, people like me naively thought and they seem to take to lockdown and the COVID vaccine regime like a duck to water. I believe this brought out the, a side of them that, you know, they seem to enjoy this statist coup of the COVID regime. And of course, they've been shilling for the vaccines rather too enthusiastically and knocking anyone who, you know, comes, says anything heretical about vaccine injuries like Andrew Bridgen has done. I think they've lost a lot of trust and I think people are wondering what they're really about and I think we do need to look back to how they originated in living Marxism. They are and probably still are at heart cultural Marxists and I think the editor, you know, people call him Tintin, Tom Slater, I think his name is. Yeah, I think that's where they are. And I think for years that they've been fooling us because they've had things that, you know, I'm sure they genuinely believe that, you know, the working class people are being treated badly by the establishment. I'm sure that they really genuinely were writing on that, they were just pretending that they were on our side on that, but COVID has really badly exposed them. And, you know, they chose to write that hit piece on Andrew Bridgen. Andrew Bridgen wasn't coming out looking to attack them. This was a serious own goal. They've lost loads of followers, loads of subscribers and deservedly so, because, you know, if there's one thing that we've had to learn, it's a hard lesson we've had to learn over the last three years, that some of the institutions, some of the people that we liked, that we respected, we've had to think again about some of that and correspondingly people who perhaps we didn't like, organizations we didn't trust. We thought, well, maybe they had something good after all. It's been a steep learning curve for all of us, I think. Yeah. Who thought it would be shoulder to shoulder with Piers Corbyn. It throws out very strange thoughts. But here's the Daily Mirror. This headline really blew my mind. ProJam, if you can just scroll the headline up a little bit. Brits are dying in their tens of thousands. ProJam, can you scroll it up a little bit? So Brits are, no, we're not going to get, yeah, we are. Brits are dying in their tens of thousands, and we don't really have any idea why. And this is looking at excess deaths between May and December 2020 and talks about 32,000 excess deaths. It's this, yeah again the last three years I never thought I would be reading a headline like this that they are seeing the problem still not connecting the dots but it's getting out there that these excess deaths are there and the question is being asked. It's quite unbelievable they refuse to make the connection but it is a headline that will make people think? Yes, I think so. So the mainstream media are just not going to make that connection, as you say, you know, that you could read numerous articles like this now, all the papers are now covering it, but they simply will not make any link to the vaccine. But, you know, if you think about, you know, there's always been this large number of people, large, you know, maybe 50% of society throughout the COVID years that's been going along with their, you know, believing that the fundamental narrative that there was a deadly virus and they had to wear masks and take the jabs and that sort of thing, but increasingly sort of questioning that over time. And now that it's, you know, no longer in any way an emergency situation, people are asking even more questions from the, you know, because they feel safe to do that now. So when they read an article like this, even though it doesn't mention the vaccine. People will know, they will know from their own friends and family that there are vaccine injuries. And anyone goes on social media now. I mean, Twitter is just ablaze with stuff about the harm being caused by these mRNA injections. So it'd be quite difficult for people not to make that link themselves, even though the mainstream media aren't making it. And one other thing on the deaths, Peter, is I heard today that the NHS stopped reporting, or NHS England, whoever it is, it stopped reporting deaths from blood clots. And I haven't looked into this properly, but that they stopped reporting this back in 2020. Before the vaccine rollout. So they knew this was coming. Yeah. Well, they knew if they'd written, read what Pfizer, Moderna were holding back. I don't know if they had access to that, but yeah. Let's move on. We'll try and fly through our last, we'll do four stories. This is immigration. This is Wet Welby. I know it's not his speeding ticket, which is a whole other story. I'll leave the viewers to work that out. But this is the debate in Parliament on the immigration bill and this is the telegraph. Justin Welby is wrong to condemn illegal immigration bill as morally unacceptable. The Archbishop was told he was wrong. Speaking in the Lord's, the most reverent Justin Welby warned it risks damaging Britain's reputation at home and abroad and he failed to take a long-term strategic view in immigration challenges and blah blah blah. You expect this from him but the government are trying to deal with the problem and all Welby can do is criticize him because I guess he's an open border, everyone should come to the UK, but what were your thoughts on Welby? Well I mentioned cultural Marxism a few moments ago and a strategy of cultural Marxism was a long march through the institutions and of course we can see how almost every major institution in society has been well and truly marched through, not least the Church of England. I sometimes want to ask these people, although I'll never get the chance. And even if I did ask it, I probably wouldn't get a straight answer from them. I'd like to ask Welby... Where would you draw the line? What would be your limit? Because right now, there are pictures of tens of thousands of people in the north of France, who are going to be crossing the Channel and thousands of them are going to come over this summer. This is causing despair, anger. It's causing great economic hardship because these people are costing a hell of a lot of money as well. But it's like the government no longer cares for its own people. The first duty of government is to look after the safety of its own people. And that no longer seems to matter. And Justin Welby doesn't seem to give a moment's thought to these people who he classes as refugees crossing the channel without documents. Some of them will be fleeing justice in their own countries. Some of them will be rapists. Some of them will be paedophiles. Some of them will be murderers. Now, somebody might say to me in response to saying that, how do you know? Well, I don't. But how do you know they're not? Because they're not documented. Yeah and so this is what's being done to British society, and it's not just Britain of course, the same is being done to Ireland. Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, is a menace to the British people, as are almost all the leaders of our institutions, most of our politicians, as Michael Jackson says, they don't care about us. Exactly. Well, none of the bishops in the house care about any of us. Moving on to Brexit, and this is great from The Economist, trying to work out why Britain would be successful. Britain's services exports are booming despite Brexit. Why? And they try and look into this to try and understand why Britain is not doing worse. And Projam, can you just scroll down to the two graphs there? No, we're not going to get the graphs. But it's really interesting that obviously the left wing media want to bash Britain, and they can't because the service industry is booming in Britain despite Brexit. Who would have thought it, Niall? Yes, well, this is The Economist, so you would think that this is economic experts, but what I've found over the years, Peter, is that economics is not the sort of science of finance at all. It's a social kind of studies field which is heavily populated by people of particular ideological bent who use this kind of, you know, quite sort of serious sounding title of economist to give more value to what they say. But really, they rarely get anything right at all about finance, do they? I mean, the Economist and the Financial Times have been wrong on just about everything. If you look at the inflation problem at the moment, did the Economist and the Financial Times warn you, dear viewers, about that? Did the Economist and the Financial Times warn you about the global financial crisis in 2007, 2008? No, they didn't have a clue it was coming. Because they're not scientists, they're pseudoscientists. They are just social studies, kind of ideological narrative pushers. And of course, Brexit is something that really went against the narrative. Let's finish off on two gender stories. Let me see if we can bring this up. This is, so this is Starbucks Saks trans worker who accused customer of being transphobic then knocked a phone out of person's hands in confrontation after being misgendered. Let me bring, let me actually bring and play the video. The video, give me one second and I will hear it. There, let me see if I can play this. (video plays) I want to leave that. You're rude. Don't ever call me transphobic. Ever. You do not know me. Never. You do not call me transphobic. Ever. I want to leave that. Hi, get out. You are trespassing now. You are trespassing. Get out. Apparently, we said something that sounds phobic. You actually, actually, you actually. You want some, give me the phone. You want some, give me the phone. Let go of me, give me the phone. I've got plenty of witnesses, give me the phone. I said, let go. And it more or less finishes there. The funny thing is that, obviously, after that went viral, that the individual got sacked for that. But it's this sense of entitlement, Niall, and I guess we have a whole education system where people are going through it and told that they shouldn't be offended. And if they're offended, it's hate. And obviously, whenever you go and buy your coffee, if the person is offended by, I don't know, by a look or a walk or whatever it is. But I guess we'll be seeing more and more of this in our society. Yeah, and my advice to people is, if you get into a situation like that lady got into, don't engage, just walk away. Because that person, however unreasonable they are, they have got the law behind them, the Equality Act, and the whole narrative is in their favour. And so in this case, you know, this person was filmed and found out and the company Starbucks had little option but to sack this person. You know, whatever happened to the customer is always right? But no, it's not worth. And this is why I'd say there's one sort of protest that I would not go to, and that's the drag queen, trans child grooming events, which I think are absolutely abhorrent, but I will not go to a protest because you'll get all these shrill socialist worker types and the police will be on their side and anything you say, potentially you could be apprehended for by the police. So I think just don't engage. You can never be forced to use somebody's pronouns, they try and force you to use their pronouns. No, you can't be forced to use that. Just walk away. Now, it's not every situation, you can just walk away. But just don't get into a confrontation. But also don't feel that you have to accommodate some of this madness because it is madness. I'd say that as a mental health practitioner, what's going on now with this transgenderism is lunacy. But I think that there's a danger in tackling it in a situation like this. Best if possible to just walk away. Yeah, yeah. We'll finish off on the same topic but on freedom of speech, journalistic expression. This is a story in the Telegraph on the National Union of Journalists, who are of course the bastions of free speech and journalism. Fears for free speech after journalist union refuses refuses to defend gender-critical members and it's that Britain's leading journalistic union has rejected calls to defend members who cover trans issues and gender-critical beliefs. The National Union of Journalists was called upon at a meeting to issue a statement supporting members who covered the debate on sex and gender and to condemn abuse that they might receive for discussing gender. A gender-critical viewpoint is just a normal gender, that's just how it is. But they refuse to do it. And I guess it's, we've seen the capitulation of our media anyway over the last three years, but there is an absolute, as you said, I think a fear of the trans lobby. But again, you do expect a union to come and back you. Maybe this is why the Workers' England Union are needed so much. So I'll leave that to you, Niall. Yes, so certainly journalists if you have any concerns about the various woke agendas that are going on that you may profoundly disagree with, this is a clear message from the National Union of Journalists. They are not going to stand up for you. So yes, come and join the Workers of England. There's nothing to stop you joining an independent union that isn't tied to the establishment and to the official narratives like the NUJ is. Alongside that story, Peter, there's a school teacher who's been dismissed for refusing to use a pupil's transgender pronoun. So we really are getting into sort of Maoist cultural revolution kind of atmosphere now. And I reckon that it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. But my hope is that this woke onslaught will eat itself. You know, that they'll cause so many schisms and such conflict with among themselves that they will, that we can just sort of, you know, enjoy the show and get the popcorn, but I think that the heat is going to be turned up quite a lot before we get to the point where we can see it coming to an end. It will come to an end, just like Mao's cultural revolution came to an end in China, but they had something like 12 years of that, and a lot of people died, a lot of people were persecuted during that time and what we've got now is persecution, you know, when people are hounded out of their jobs, prevented from getting any other work, they are, you know, portrayed on the media as being some, you know, diabolical person who everyone has to stay away from. I mean this is like the witch hunt hysteria of the 16th, 17th centuries. Yeah, no, it really is. Well, I think on that, we will finish up. The viewers can obviously, our listeners can find Neil, his handle is there @Dr_Neil_McRae, with two underscores. So it is there on Gab. Do go and make use of Gab, as do we. We post all the videos on Gab. So it is a wonderful social media platform and was free before Musk ever thought of having freedom, supposedly. We'll not even get into that. But Dr. Niall McCrae, thank you as always for joining us. Thank you. It's a pleasure to be on. And sorry about the glitches earlier, but we got there in the end. We always get there at the end, so no problem at all. But I wish our viewers and listeners a wonderful rest of your Saturday, rest of your weekend, whatever you're doing. Have a wonderful time on Sunday. Take some time off your normal work schedule. I say that to me as well as I say to you and on Monday we'll be back with you with Dr Peter McCullough will be with us on Monday evening so tune in for that. And on that, have a wonderful evening and we'll see you Monday.

Plus this week, photographer Don Tonge takes on the challenge of supplying Grant with an audio file no longer than 5 minutes in length in which he answer's the question ‘What Does Photography Mean to You?' Don Tonge left Brownlow Fold secondary modern school in Bolton aged15 with no qualifications and started working in the storeroom handing out tools to machinists at Hick Hargreaves Engineering Co, Bolton, he then went into their foundry, but left after six months to start working in the building trade as an insulation engineer. In the late 1960s whilst, working on a job at the Ilford paper and film manufacturers he bought one of their Instamatic kits from their factory shop. He joined Bolton Camera Club in the 1970s and began to enter the club competitions with moderate success before entering competitions in photographic magazines and having his work published. Tonge won the Granada Television “In Focus” Competition around 1980 which resulted in two days of filming at his home and Haydock Park Racecourse with Nobby Clarke a London based press and theatre photographer. Tonge began working as a part-time freelance photographer in the late 1980s turning full-time as a front of house photographer for The Octagon Theatre in Bolton. He was there for 8 years, received his NUJ card and started freelancing for local newspapers and occasionally the national press. He also spent some time working with a Manchester based agency and documented the Strangeways Prison riot. A one-man show of his work was presented at The Salamander Gallery, Bolton and he has collaborated with other other photographers in numerous joint shows. Tonge is currently archiving his disorganised output locating negatives and scanning them. Reach PLC is one of the largest commercial publishers in the UK, which owns household brands like the Mirror and the Daily Star as well as the majority of local titles including Bristol Live, and pulls in millions in revenue. But 1,000 journalists employed by Reach PLC started striking yesterday (Wednesday) after rejecting a 3% pay rise.As reported by the Cable earlier this week, junior staff at Bristol Live are paid under £20,000 while senior staff are on just £25,000. These low salaries are forcing some journalists to resort to using food banks to feed their families, and all the while the chief exec of Reach PLC Jim Mullen took home £4m last year – 104 times more the median salary of a Reach PLC employee.Listen in to this week's episode of Bristol Unpacked with Neil and local NUJ member Paul Breeden on what's at stake for the Bristol Live strikers, and whether the economically and reputationally battered news industry can ever improve its service to the public. Kur šoreiz jūs to darīsit? (..) Cerams, ka mums sanāks to kaut kā interesanti izdarīt. Viens jau neko nevarētu paveikt, tāpēc pasaucu savus draugus un kolēģus - koncertā piedalīsies vijolnieks Andrejs Jegorovs, kurš spēlēs arī klavieres, būs vijolniece Arina Bardova, altu spēlēs Klinta Kluce, čellu – Antons Trocjuks un Maksims Kibickis, Gustavs Voldemārs Vilsons mums būs kontrabasists, un būs arī divi pianisti – Ērika Jēkabsone un Anna Harlapa.

This is a huge area and we'll be covering a lot in this episode, including: What sort of background, prerequisites, or prior learning do candidates need before they embark on an OSINT course? Why does today's EP professional need this skillset? Does everyone need it, or should it be assigned to a designated, skilled expert? How can EP operators use OSINT fundamentals to mask the movements of their principal? If you're looking to remain under the radar, what can people do to stop others from finding them?  More about Pete: Peter is a former Royal Marine Commando and Director of security consultancy ‘ISS Training Ltd'. Peter is proud to have taught surveillance & intelligence related subjects in over 18 countries worldwide to various enforcement agencies, specialist military & intelligence units and close protection teams. Bearing of Arms By Herdsmen: Bauchi Governor Says He Was Misunderstood

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State have shed some light on his comment on Fulani herders bearing firearms. The governor in a press release issued by his SSA Media, Mukhtar Gidado on Sunday stated that “to the extent that not every herdsman is a criminal, the reference to AK-47 was simply to put in perspective, the predicament and desperation of those law-abiding Fulani herdsmen who, while carrying out their legitimate cow-rearing business, have become serial victims of cattle rustling, banditry, kidnapping and assassination.”He said he had been working round the clock, alongside other leaders from the region, to avert reprisal actions that can plunge the entire country into chaos.“The attention of the Bauchi State Government has been drawn to reactions from various members of the public to Governor Mohammed's speech, at the closing ceremony of the Press Week of the Correspondent's Chapel of the NUJ in Bauchi State, last Thursday.“At no time did the Governor set out to justify criminality by anyone, no matter the person's ethnic nationality. Rather, he admonished us, in the interest of national unity, to avoid wholesale branding of any ethnic group as it is inconceivable that any one group can be made up of only criminals. By extension, the Governor made it abundantly clear that it will be inappropriate to label any one tribe based on the crimes of a few members of the ethnic group.”“Second, to the extent that not every herdsman is a criminal, the Governor's reference to AK47 was simply to put in perspective, the predicament and desperation of those law-abiding Fulani herdsmen who, while carrying out their legitimate cow-rearing business, have become serial victims of cattle rustling, banditry, kidnapping and assassination.“These are the people who, in the absence of any protection from the security agencies, are forced to resort to self-help, to defend both their means of livelihood and their lives.“As a constitutionalist which he has proved over time, all through his political career, Governor Bala Mohammed will be the last person to advocate a subversion of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He did not do so in the past; he will not do so today.“Governor Bala Mohammed's description of forests, as “no man's land”, (please read as gift of nature), is a carry-over from his own geo-political environment where a pastoralist could set up camp, in any forest, for a few weeks without causing any uproar or opposition.“To interpret such a temporary stay as a form of ‘land grab' by the Fulani herdsmen is completely incorrect. In actual fact, neither does such temporary habitation of the forest inconvenience anyone nor does the itinerant Fulani sojourner, bother anyone about his plight in the forest characterised by life without assess to electricity, pipe borne water, good roads or hospitals. On the contrary, Bala Mohammed is very familiar with the Land Use Act, including the criteria for land acquisition and cannot therefore seek to undermine the statute which, as Governor, he has sworn to uphold.”The statement said the Governor used the occasion to weigh in on the contentious issue of clashes between herdsmen and farmers, particularly against the background of the eviction and other forms of restriction orders issued by some state governments and non-governmental entities.

Simon assesses the prospects for growing unionisation of the self-employed, looking at the greater appetite for collective voice and belief that more can be achieved by working together on issues that matter most.  Established and new unions are reporting a new enthusiasm with NUJ recruitment up by as much as 60%, and new actors such as The Creator Union coming onto the stage.   But this should be no surprise.  The self-employed sector now accounts for 1 in 6 of UK workers, some 5 million people.  And 40% of them are on poverty pay.  And as becomes sadly clear, the lack of diversity in the creative industries is no accident – and that makes action on inclusivity imperative. Femi Fani-Kayode, former minister of aviation, says the Nigeria Union of Journalists (N U J) misunderstood the flare-up between him and a reporter. He attacked Eyo Charles , a journalist who asked him a question at a press conference in Calabar, Cross River state, last week. In a statement released on his social media handles, described the question by the journalist, as “an assertion and insult”, saying he has been arranged by his political enemies who wanted to give him a hard time. The full Statement:During my tour of the South and after a long and successful press conference in Calabar, Cross Rivers state, a journalist put up his hand for the last question and said,"Well we do not know who is bankrolling you".This is not a question but an assertion and an insult. And if this insulting ASSERTION were made before Trump or OBJ I know how they would have reacted.Below is my response and I have no apology to offer for it. The young man apologised to me during the press conference and sent his apologies to me after the conference. I have accepted his apologies in good faith and moved on. I have always had respect for journalists and I always will. Those of them that know me or have worked with or for me over the last 30 years can attest to that. However there is a distinction between asking a question and offering a gratuitous insult . This is all the more so when it is clear that the assertion was sponsored and engineered by my political enemies who wanted to use the young man to insult and embarrass me and question my integrity. Well they got more than they bargained for. I repeat this was not a question but an assertion and an insult and I will not accept that from any man born of woman. Thank you.ADDENDUM: Permit me to add the following to my earlier statement. I have taken note of the report by Daily Trust on the incident. The content is false. I didn't send any of my security men to threaten their reporter.I only reprimanded him for a premeditated plan to embarrass me and he apologised thereafter. That was all. This is not a battle between me and the esteemed Nigerian journalists who respect the ethics of the noble profession. I have always been and will always be a friend to journalists and a champion of freedom of speech. What I will not accept are brazen insults from an individual in the name of journalism. The assertion or assumption that I am being bankrolled by anyone is deeply insulting. Finally to the NUJ I say you have got me completely wrong. It would have been better if you had heard my own side of the story and established who was behind this whole incident and attempt to embarrass me, who paid for it and how much they paid before going to press. Nevertheless I still hold you in high esteem.

It is day 62 of our Spanish Lockdown and we have reached Phase 1, well on Monday, here in Granada and Malaga, hooray.  But there are plenty of rules to follow.  This is our daily diary of life here and a glimpse back into the past when we worked for LBC Radio in London. Find out more here: https://www.thesecretspain.com Full uncorrected transcript: Day 62   It is day 62 of our Spanish Lockdown and the good news is that we can go to Phase 1 of the un-lockdown process here in Andalucia, Spain, from Monday morning.   Of course there are a magnitude of rules to follow, and places and things you can’t go to or do, but it is a start, it will also help local business get back to work, it will require social distancing, that will easily be the weakest link in the plan.   Meanwhile in Madrid which is still stuck in phase zero and a bit, ..yes the Government have changed the rules yet again.  The posh residents of Salamanca district are revolting.  Some of them believe that this is just a power grab for the central government under the guise of public health safety. They want their freedoms back and one resident accused Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez of creating a country of ‘idlers.’   Anecdotally it seems that the furlough payments here have been a bit of a mess, some have received payments, others have not.  It has meant that some families have had to seek help from charities and food banks, just to get through this.   It appears that it doesn’t matter if there is a socialist government in charge or a right wing one, they are all capable of making a complete balls of it all.   Spain is a country that loves its rules and regulations, it sometimes make day-to-day life an overly complicated pain in the arse.   Back in 1984 when I first joined LBC Radio in London, I came across my first experience of restrictive practice working.  Put simply, depending on the Union you belonged to you were restricted in what you could do.  I was a member of the ACTT - Association of Sinner Mat a Graph, Television and Allied Technicians, other staff were members of the NUJ – The National Union of Journalists.     This meant that as a member of the ACTT I had to be instructed by the NUJ member as to which band of the record they wanted to play – I would put the transcription arm onto the record, an engineering task, but the cueing up of the track would be done by the NUJ member – an Editorial task… and so on.   Once a member of the NUJ forgot and put his own record on, the Engineer on duty did not say a word, he just switched all the microphones off, turned the studio to off air, and walked out along with his colleagues, the radio station was off the air for about an hour.   There were many, many strikes.  When they occurred, the Management would come down from their offices and play music or the station would stay off the air.   In television there was a famous strike at ITV in the late 1970s that took TV shows off the air for six weeks, but despite being in the same Union it was a different dispute so LBC stayed on the air, and had the best six weeks of revenue it had ever had.   BUT there was one time of day when the restrictive practices were conveniently forgotten by the NUJ, that was overnight.  There was a heavy drinking culture during the 1980s in Fleet Street, so by evening you would find many journalists completely trashed followed a little later by the printers of the newspapers.   By about 3am Fleet Street and the little Lanes behind it were awash with vomit and wee.  At about 5am Westminster council came along with a sanitation truck, rather like the disinfectant trucks being used in Lockdown.  They would wash away all the human detritus down the drains, by dawn the streets would be clean again.   This meant there were maybe just two or three NUJ members on duty overnight, and members of the ACTT were allowed to Produce radio shows, something I was very keen to do.   I finally got my big chance when one of the regular Engineer Producers went sick at short notice.  So I came in and set the show up, picked the stories, edited the tapes, wrote the scripts and then the Presenter turned up, Mike Carson, you will probably know him as he is the voice of ‘J.M.L. homeware, those handy gadgets you never knew you needed.   “Oh God! What are you doing, you are just an Engineer, why have they given you to me?”   I explained my past with Essex Radio, but he wasn’t impressed, it wasn’t until about the third hour in he realised that I could do the job and gave me some faint praise.  “You are doing alright.” He said.. thanks Mike.   The next big breakthrough was that Management created an Engineer Producer role during the Daytime, but strictly Production based, no Editorial influence.  I and my colleague Ronnie got those two positions.   Then came the day when the Producer of the Show went sick.  My boss said to me, well you know how to Produce, I want you to do it.  I said yes and sat myself down at the desk and started to prep the show.   Within two minutes the Father of the Chapel of the NUJ came over. “What are you doing?”  I told him.  “If you don’t move from that desk, we will all walk out.”    Well following a stand-off between the Union and Management, the Management agreed I should be shadowed by an NUJ member, so they dragged Barbara in, who was a ditzy freelance, whose job was to sit beside me, do nothing, but just be there.  That kept the NUJ very happy.   She sat down beside me, saying “You don’t mind do you?”  I said not at all, then she leant forward and whispered in my ear “Actually I am not a member of the NUJ I am ACTT, like you.”   And that pretty much sums up what a ridiculous situation the unions had got the country in to.  It was no wonder that Maggie Thatcher was able to crush them, as by then they had lost their grass roots support.   Day 62 and we look forward to Monday, a careful, safe step forward by the country, at last. The right decision let’s hope we can keep moving forward, fingers crossed.

Critics say that the organisation is not independent of the industry and Sir Alan tells Amol Rajan that further changes to IPSO's regulations may be needed. The jury at the new inquests into the deaths of fans at Hillsborough has this week concluded that they played no part in the tragedy. The press coverage following the event in 1989 included damning headlines about fans' behaviour, including that they'd stolen from the dead and urinated on police. Bob Westerdale, now sports editor at the Star Newspaper in Sheffield, was working as a crime reporter on the newspaper at the time and went down to the Hillsborough stadium on that tragic day. He talks to Steve Hewlett about his coverage of the story, and how the versions of the 'truth' unravelled. Veteran journalist and TV news anchor Sir Martyn Lewis is helping spearhead a UN backed campaign encouraging journalists to take a more 'constructive' approach to news stories. Linked to reports that indicate negative news stories can affect the psyche, the move is aimed at tackling a perceived apathy and feelings of disempowerment amongst news audiences. He joins Steve Hewlett and journalist Joan Smith to discuss whether it's the really the role of journalists to balance reporting positive and negative coverage of stories. The BBC World Service has announced it will be moving the bulk of its London based Chinese Service to Hong Kong. The move is aimed at improving the reach and impact of the BBC in China. However, there's concern that the move risks putting the BBC's integrity and journalists safety at risk, as well as diminishing UK soft power abroad. BBC Chinese service journalist and NUJ representative Howard Zhang discusses with Liliane Landor, Controller, Languages, BBC World Service. Producer: Katy Takatsuki.

A prominent sportsman has been granted an injunction preventing The Sun newspaper from publishing a story about a relationship he had before he was married, based on the woman's account. The case has raised questions over how injunctions like this, relating to kiss-and-tells, impact on journalism, especially tabloids. Andrea Catherwood talks to The Sun's editor David Dinsmore, and discusses the efficacy of injunctions in an internet era with two media lawyers; Mark Stephens from Howard Kennedy, and Kirsten Sjovoll from Matrix Chambers.Publishing group Pearson has agreed to sell its fifty per cent stake in the Economist Group for £469m. Exor, the holding group of the Agnelli family, has agreed to buy most of Pearson's shares. Media analyst from Liberum Ian Whittaker explains why Pearson's selling, and why Exor's buying.Following Pearson's sale of the FT to Japanese media group Nikkei, journalists at the paper have written to Nikkei management asking for assurances that editorial independence will be maintained. Nikkei has promised to protect the independence of the FT, but in a letter, writers have called on the Nikkei to "enshrine" its editorial independence. Andrea Catherwood talks to Financial Times journalist Martin Sandu about what guarantees staff are looking for.Last week, the NUJ called on the FA to act on what it described as "a worrying trend" amongst clubs about banning journalists from their grounds if they don't like their reporting. Then on Friday, Channel 4 news was banned from Newcastle United's press conference for wanting to ask the club a question about banning journalists! We hear from Channel 4 news correspondent Alex Thomson about what happened.Producer: Katy Takatsuki.

The Leveson Inquiry into the culture, ethics and practices of the media has started this week, with opening statements from lawyers for the inquiry, newspapers and 'victims' and, today, from journalists' union the NUJ. General Secretary Michelle Stanistreet tells the Media Show that a culture of fear kept most journalists from speaking out when they saw unethical practices over the last ten years. Can she suggest a viable solution? Meanwhile, on Monday, print editors gathered in a hotel in Surrey to discuss how they could address the perceived problems of self-regulation, at the Society of Editors conference. Mirror editor Richard Wallace, Graham Dudman of News International and the Mail's executive managing editor, Robin Esser, offer their views of what if anything should replace the Press Complaints Commission. The new chair of the PCC, Lord Hunt, responds and Stewart Purvis, formerly of Ofcom, discusses the options.
