While I do agree that more money won't bring you more happiness, I challenge the idea that money can't buy you happiness.Let me explain why:in 2018 I was going to Mexico to go spend a day at an orphanage with children that had been saved from child sex trafficking. It was emotional and powerful to be present with these kids knowing what they had overcome and the abuse they had been through.While I was there I asked the owner of the non-profit how we could make the kids feel special. He said that they loved ice cream and so we bought $50 worth of ice cream and gave it to these kids that had been through some of the most cruel things in life. Watching them forget about their past and enjoy that ice cream was one of the most special moments of my life. It was in that moment that I realized for $50, I could buy myself happiness. Watching those kids be so happy with such a small thing after all they had been through made me realize that if it was only $50 to fill my heart with joy why couldn't I buy them icecream every week and feel that good everytime.That is when I truly experienced the impact that philanthropy could have and the power of mixing my skills as an entrepreneur to make money with the ability to do more good in the world.It is in these moments that I realized, the bigger I go, the more I can give. By 22 he qualified to become a Red Seal Journeyman, running crews and multiple job sites, losing his best friend and mentor made him realize that life was short to keep working Mondays to Fridays, with that Randy invested himself in education and building a passive income lifestyle. Coming from a trades heavy family Randy Molland always knew working with his hands was a gift. He quickly realized he was talented at understanding electricity and at 16 started his Electrical Apprenticeship. By 22, Randy was a Red Seal Journeyman and running crews and multiple job sites. He always knew buying a house early was the dream and at the young age of 24, he bought his first property. Being a single guy working long days, Randy quickly realized that since he was rarely home, he could rent out his house and make an extra $500/month. This is what started the idea of building a passive income lifestyle. He went through a life changing experience shortly after buying his house, losing his mentor and best friend. In this conversation, Randy discusses why real estate investment will allow you to live a more fulfilling life, explains why he began charging for The REInvestors’ meetups, and delves into why vulnerability is the most important business strategy he has.   Show Notes: How did Randy become a real estate investor and get to where he is today? Grew up in a low income family, but set high goals for himself and aimed to own a house by the age of 24—which he managed to do! His mentor and strongest supporter was tragically fatally wounded in a job site accident, so Randy began seeing a counsellor who became a kind of life coach to him. Connecting with the ReInvestors' Randy Molland and THRIVE Make Money Matter in Las Vegas:   After losing a brother at the age of 3, Randy and his family became very passionate about the saying "Family means more than money". His father gave up the company he created and decided he was more dedicated to being there for his 2 remaining boys then he was about building wealth. Because of the family first lifestyle Randy found himself always wanting to help people and be a leader, but always knew that all though money didn't make you happier, it was something that he was going to have to work for if he wanted it. At just a young age of 16, Randy set out 3 ambitious goals for himself. They were to complete his red seal journeyman ticket in electrical, buy a full-size truck, and buy a house all by the age of 25, "The American Drea". He was able to accomplish all those goals a year ahead of schedule just after his 24th Birthday. Unfortunately things cant stay glorious forever, just 3 weeks after getting possession of his house, he lost his best friend and electrical mentor in a job site accident! Instead of losing faith in the world, Randy took this opportunity to make a change in his life and start living it to the fullest. It became his life's mission to help others start living a more fulfilled life and enjoying the time they have by creating different streams of passive income to do activities they are passionate about! Since the accident, Randy has founded multiple companies, his biggest being a real estate investment company. By showing people that you can take one of the most tragic incidents in life, and turn it into one of the most powerful movements ever, Randy is hoping to help spread his word and show people that with the right mindset and attitude you can accomplish anything you dream of! Randy found Cole Hatter on a podcast and fell in love with his story as it was similar to his own. He took the opportunity to really find a purpose to creating all of this and that has turned into a movement that they are pushing forward called #GoBigToGiveBig.
