When a battery cell heats up a lot, it can propagate to its neighboring cell and usually they do propagate on the cell level and not the battery storage unit level, but Viridi Parente has figured out how to not have cell propagation and has gone through the UL 9540A fire testing to prove it. They are working on a residential battery that will be “listed and labeled for use in habitable spaces” which nobody has ever successfully done to the best of my knowledge. This means that you would not have to follow the 2024 International Residential Code (2021 IRC with different wording), which means they can put as much as they want in any room in a house, once this is a done deal, which will probably happen in the first quarter of 2026. Here it is in the IRC: https://up.codes/viewer/mississippi/irc-2024/chapter/3/building-planning#R330.1 This is big news that could revolutionize energy storage. Viridi Parente has two factories in historical places. The Ford Motor building in Richmond CA where Rosie the Riveter worked and was photographed during WW2 and also the other factory in Buffalo NY was a GM factory built in 1920 which was also building tanks for WW2, so besides kicking Nazi's butts, these buildings will help with the modernization of the grid. Jon and Sean also talk about virtual power plants (VPPs) and the internet of things (IoT). They cover how using energy storage can lead to a lot less current on wires and how you can run 40 houses on a single 200A service with the right amount of energy storage and coordination. What if you only had 60 days left to live? In this episode, Joe shares one of the most powerful thought exercises he uses to cut through distractions and refocus on what truly matters...both in business and in life. Instead of letting busy work, endless scrolling, or meaningless meetings dominate your days, the 60 Days to Live Mentality forces you to ask: What would I double down on? Who would I spend time with? What would I stop doing altogether? Joe explains how this simple but radical lens creates clarity, strengthens relationships, and drives focus on the projects that actually move the needle. Takeaway: You don't need a crisis to start living with urgency. By aligning your daily calendar with what matters most, you'll make better decisions, create more impact, and build a business—and life—that lasts. Challenge for you: Take 10 minutes today. Write down what you'd do if you only had 60 days left. Then compare it with how you're actually spending your time. The difference will show you what needs to change. This week on Another Pass, Case and Sam are joined by guest Sean Muir to dissect the late '90s sci-fi horror flick Virus—a movie where bad wiring meets worse decisions. Together, they explore the film's potential, its squandered setup, and how it almost became the Event Horizon of killer robot movies. #AnotherPass #Virus1999 #JamieLeeCurtis #DonaldSutherland #SeanMuir #SciFiHorror #FlawedButFascinating Another Pass Full Episode Originally aired: August 22, 2025 Music by Vin Macri and Matt Brogan Podcast Edited by Sophia Ricciardi Certain Point Of View is a podcast network brining you all sorts of nerdy goodness! The film was released in January 1999, originally scheduled for late 1998, but was a commercial failure, earning only half of its budget back with critical reviews reflecting its shortcomings. Discussion revealed that the movie heavily referenced better films like The Thing and Alien, being described as merely an 'outline of a movie', lacking the depth expected from the genre. The technical achievements of Phil Tippett's animatronics were praised, although criticized for being too bright for the intended horror atmosphere, while CGI elements did not hold up well. Cultural shifts post-9/11 were noted as a change in audience appetite for sci-fi horror, marking an end to the late 90s creature feature trend seen in films like Independence Day. Character development was weak, with the consensus that Billy Baldwin's role could be eliminated without impacting the story; Sherman Augustus's character identified as the most promising but underutilized. Proposed a campier direction for the film, featuring humans viewed as 'uncouth' by aliens, which could yield more engaging content and interactions among the crew. Suggested removing the opening space scene to enhance suspense, providing a fresher take on alien threat revelation and deepening story engagement. Critique noted inconsistencies in character portrayals Notes ️ Episode Introduction & Setup (00:00 - 10:25) Case Aiken and Sam Alicea welcome guest Sean Muir (Movie Midness) to discuss the 1999 sci-fi horror film 'Virus'. Both Case and Sam were unfamiliar with the film despite it featuring notable actors and being from 1999, highlighting how obscure it became. John Bruno left his VFX supervisor position on Titanic to direct this film, but his career trajectory after this movie remains unclear. The movie appears made for cyberpunk enthusiasts, sci-fi nerds, and specifically mentioned Billy Idol during his cyberpunk phase after missing the T-1000 role in Terminator 2. Movie Plot Summary & Analysis (07:40 - 20:48) Film opens with Russian space station receiving alien energy that transfers to communication ship; American tugboat crew discovers abandoned vessel during hurricane and faces killer machines. Features Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Sutherland, Billy Baldwin, and Cliff Curtis; Sam expresses confusion about Billy Baldwin's casting choices. Film draws heavily from better movies including The Thing, Alien, Event Horizon, and Ghost Ship; described as feeling like an 'outline of a movie'. Movie was a commercial bomb, earning only half its budget back and receiving harsh critical reviews. ️ Technical & Production Discussion (20:49 - 40:48) Phil Tippett's animatronics work praised as excellent, though perhaps too well-lit for horror atmosphere; practical effects hold up better than CGI elements. Late 90s represented end of creature feature era; audiences moving toward CGI spectacle seen in films like Independence Day and Jurassic Park sequels. Discussion of how cultural tastes changed dramatically after 9/11, affecting appetite for this type of sci-fi horror content. Movie reused ship from The Abyss and other James Cameron productions; originally scheduled for 1998 release but moved to January 1999 'dump month'. Character & Story Analysis (40:48 - 01:02:22) Crew relationships underdeveloped compared to superior ensemble films like Aliens; characters lack memorable personality moments. Consensus that Billy Baldwin's character adds nothing to the film and could be completely removed without impact. Sherman Augustus's character Richie identified as film's best, showing intelligence and survival instincts that should have made him the protagonist. Central concept of humans being the 'virus' poorly executed compared to The Matrix (same year) or later films like Arrival. Pitch Session - Campy Direction (01:02:23 - 01:12:53) Proposes making film campier with Galactic Union of Planets deciding humans are 'uncouth' and sending computer virus to eliminate them efficiently. Suggests more scenes of Richie building weapons from robot parts and crew creating makeshift tools for survival. Proposes aliens are annoyed by human space transmissions like 'intergalactic Mormons' constantly trying to make contact. More creative use of ship's manufacturing equipment turned into weapons. Technical Improvement Suggestions (01:12:53 - 01:22:35) Sean criticizes inconsistent Scottish accent performance, suggests either full commitment or using natural voice. Marshall Bell (Woods) needs better pain expression training for nail gun injury scenes. Second wall of hurricane not properly represented with appropriate ship movement and chaos during climax. Movie lacks clear layout understanding, unlike Die Hard's excellent building geography that aids tension. Horror Direction Alternative (01:16:55 - 01:22:35) Remove opening space station scene, make it flashback told by Nadia; focus on mystery and unknown threat. Give Jamie Lee Curtis's Kit Foster more personal stakes and character arc beyond basic competence. Build more suspense through delayed revelation of alien threat; explore 'humans as virus' theme more thoroughly. Better utilize ship's impressive technical areas and create clearer navigation understanding. Wrap-up & Social Media (01:22:35 - 01:27:59) Sean Muir promotes Movie Midness Instagram, Letterboxd, and YouTube profiles featuring movie analysis and model train scene recreations. Thanks to executive producer level supporters including Micah McCaw, Carter Hallett, Sean Muir, and others. Highlander 2: The Quickening announced as next film for discussion. Do Business. Do Life. — The Financial Advisor Podcast — DBDL
What if the #1 reason you feel burned out is because you're unknowingly doing three completely different jobs?In this solo episode, I break down the Triad Advisor Model—the exact system top firms are using to scale without sacrificing freedom. You'll see why trying to run your practice alone is like running a Chick-fil-A by yourself—taking orders at the register, cooking the food in the back, and delivering it to the table—and how to replace that chaos with a clear, scalable system that frees you up to grow. Most advisors try to grow by doing more, but that path leads to burnout and stalled revenue. Instead, I'll show you how to divide the advisor role into three specialized positions—selling, planning, and service—so you can build a business that grows beyond you. You'll learn how to hire the right people for each role, compensate them for long-term success, and create a repeatable “advisor pod” system you can scale like clockwork.4 of the biggest insights from Brad Johnson…#1.) The 3 Roles That End Advisor Burnout How a Chick-fil-A-style model splits the advisor job into selling, planning, and service—so you stop doing everything yourself and start scaling with ease. #2.) The Process to Hire, Train, and Scale on Repeat A step-by-step system to find the right people, develop their skills, and build “advisor pods” you can copy and paste as your firm grows. #3.) The Personalities That Thrive in Each Role Why matching natural strengths to each advisor seat is the key to efficiency, retention, and a better client experience. #4.) How to Grow New Advisors Without Risking Big Prospects From “never leave an empty seat” to the “reverse shotgun” approach, discover how to groom future selling advisors without putting your top clients on the line.SHOW NOTEShttps://bradleyjohnson.com/130FOLLOW BRAD JOHNSON ON SOCIALXInstagramLinkedInFOLLOW DBDL ON SOCIAL:YouTubeTwitterInstagramLinkedInFacebookDISCLOSURE DBDL podcast episode conversations are intended to provide financial advisors with ideas, strategies, concepts and tools that could be incorporated into their business and their life. Most creators don't fail because they lack skill or talent — they fail because they never make the mindset shifts that turn effort into results. After more than two decades in content entrepreneurship, I've seen what separates the ones who win from the ones who quit. In this episode, I share six powerful mindset shifts that can change your entire trajectory as a creator. You don't need to adopt all of them today... pick one, live it, and watch what happens. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why your goal is your compass — and how to set one that actually works. How to define and lean into your tilt (your unique differentiation). Why purposeful repetition is the secret to branding that sticks. The one daily habit that protects your creative energy. How your “crew” can either raise or lower your ceiling. BT is calling for a change to Ryan Helsley's dramatic bullpen entrance music, "Hells Bells," arguing that the song no longer fits his poor performance with the Mets. He believes the grand, intimidating music is at odds with the fact that Helsley has been "getting absolutely mopped" on the mound. As a comical suggestion, BT recommends "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps, complete with the "Burn, Baby, Burn" refrain, to better reflect the way Helsley has been serving up "flames" to opposing hitters. While he admits that athletes need to get amped up, BT insists that the music must align with a player's performance to maintain its "aura" and not become a joke.

In this segment, the host claims that newly declassified "burn bag" documents prove Democrats and the "Deep State" are "above the law." He highlights a whistleblower's account alleging that a Democrat staffer and members of Congress planned to illegally leak classified information to smear President Trump. The speaker argues this is a direct contradiction to the public statements made by these same officials that "no one is above the law." The monologue also references a document obtained by John Solomon that allegedly shows former Attorney General Sally Yates explicitly ordering the FBI to "shut down" an investigation into the Clinton Foundation. The hosts discuss the political fallout, including a cryptic tweet from Richard Grenell suggesting that Democrats may use Adam Schiff as a "fall guy" for the conspiracy. They conclude by expressing hope that this new evidence will finally lead to accountability for those involved.
China has a garbage problem, but not the one you might think. Overwhelmed landfills pushed cities to burn trash for energy, yet now some incinerators sit underfed. This unexpected shortage reveals surprising progress in waste reduction and recycling, forcing a rethink of how the nation handles its refuse. On the show: Heyang, Steve Hatherly & Fei Fei

What if the key to stronger leadership wasn't solving every problem—but knowing which ones to let burn? In this episode of Bridging the Gap, host Todd Weyandt explores the path from overwhelm to order with actionable leadership strategies tailored for the construction industry. Learn why joy requires intentional perspective, how to delegate effectively by “letting the fires burn,” and why clarity and structure are the ultimate antidotes to chaos. Discover the principles behind building a succession-worthy business that can grow without you, the role of scheduling in defending against disorder, and how to engage the next generation of leaders. This conversation unpacks the truth that vision without action is just hallucination—and shows how to turn that vision into reality. MEET OUR GUEST Scott Beebe is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), founder of Business On Purpose, and author of Let Your Business Burn and The Chaos Free Contractor. Scott hosts the Business On Purpose podcast sharing real stories of how he and the 10-person BOP team are working with business owners and their key leaders to build people, purpose, process, and profit installing the Business On Purpose Roadmap to liberate businesses from chaos and help them get their lives back. TODD TAKES Joy follows perspective—and both require intentionality. Joy doesn't show up automatically; it's a choice that comes from seeking out new perspectives and challenging your comfort zone. Leaders who actively look at situations from different angles often find clarity, connection, and purpose—even in the midst of chaos. Real leadership means knowing when to let the fires burn. Delegation is essential for growth, both for the leader and the team. By trusting others with responsibility—even at the risk of mistakes—leaders create opportunities for learning and development, rather than stepping in and solving every problem themselves. Chaos thrives in the absence of clarity and structure. A well-defined schedule and a clearly communicated vision are powerful tools to reduce overwhelm and create stability. Without implementation, vision remains just an idea—true progress comes from consistent, structured action. Dauzat St. Marie—that's dō-zaht saynt mah-ree—the husband-and-wife duo of Mat Dauzat and Heather St. Marie can strip a song to its bare bones and still hit you right in the heart. They started out in the alt-rock-leaning Hydrovibe, but traded the volume wars for something sharper: acoustic-forward, harmony-rich, folk-Americana with a backbone. Their debut EP Falling Again set the tone—grit, heart, and zero filler—and they've been relentless road warriors ever since, sharing stages with Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Rick Springfield, The Marshall Tucker Band, and Schuyler Fisk. Along the way, they've had viral success, deeply personal triumphs, and globe-spanning side gigs—Mat with Seal and The Buggles, Heather turning her breast cancer recovery into an anthem for the American Cancer Society. With new music like “Burn” and their soulful cover of Seal's “Crazy,” Dauzat St. Marie continues to make music for midnight highways, small rooms, and the moments you need a voice—or two—in your corner. What if the perfect time never comes? Katie Svoboda-Rini spent years waiting for things to settle before she could finally chase her dream. But life had other plans, including the loss of both parents, a lifetime of body shame, and a wildfire that didn’t burn her house down but still took almost everything. In the rubble of grief, burnout, and survival mode, Katie found something deeper than resilience. She found softness. And she gave herself permission to start anyway. In this episode, Katie shares: Why grief sometimes takes decades to process, and why that’s okay How caregiving at sixteen shaped her sense of responsibility and shame What it meant to finally start her baking business after losing almost everything If you’ve ever felt stuck waiting for the “right time,” this one might meet you where you are.
Are you treating your body like a project to fix, or a vessel to honor? Could the root of your illness be emotional, not physical? What if slowing down was the boldest healing move you could make? How do you build a healing ritual—when life won’t slow down? Is your nervous system stuck in survival mode? In this powerful and deeply personal episode of A Really Good Cry, Radhi sits down with nutritionist and Ayurvedic wellness coach Mona Sharma, her go-to expert for health and healing. But this conversation isn’t just about what to eat — it’s about what your body is trying to say. Mona shares how her journey from burnout and heart surgeries in the corporate beauty world led her back to her roots in Ayurveda — and how it completely transformed her health. They dive into the emotional roots of illness, the overlooked wisdom of ancient rituals, and how to build a healing practice in your everyday life, no matter where you are. You’ll also hear about Mona’s philosophy that symptoms are not just random — they’re messages. And by listening with compassion, you can become your own greatest healer. In this episode, you’ll learn: Why your anxiety, burnout, and fatigue aren’t just “in your head”. How trauma and suppressed emotions show up as real physical illness. Mona’s healing practices from her time at an ashram — and how to build your own at home. Why the vagus nerve is the key to calming your nervous system. How to use food as medicine, without obsessing over diets. The energy of emotions and how to raise your inner frequency. Why common symptoms like bloating, eczema, and worry are not normal. How to honor your body as a sacred vessel — not a project to be fixed. The difference between habits and healing rituals. Tests and tools to understand your unique body and rebalance it holistically. Whether you're experiencing health challenges or just feeling disconnected, this episode reminds you that healing is not just physical — it’s emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal. Ever wanted to send that scathing email or slam the door shut after someone disappointed you? We all have. But here's the hard truth: Don't burn that bridge—your future self might need it. In this episode of Reflect Forward, I dive into one of the most overlooked leadership strategies: choosing compassion over retaliation, even when you feel wronged. Especially when you feel wronged. Because the way you show up during conflict doesn't just define your character—it shapes your future opportunities. The Real Reason We Lash Out—and Why We Must Resist When someone quits unexpectedly, underdelivers, or betrays your trust, your brain goes into fight-or-flight mode. The amygdala floods your system with cortisol. Logic shrinks. Ego inflates. We react from fear, not clarity. But strong leaders don't lead from reactivity. They lead from ownership. Unfortunately, business culture conditions us to compete at all costs. We're taught to dominate, win, and protect what's “ours.” That scarcity mindset convinces us that success is limited—and anyone who threatens ours must be the enemy. But real leadership requires a different path. Mic Drop Moment: “You don't need to win every time to be successful. You need to lead every time with integrity.” The Law of Unexpected Returns Here's the magic: the kindness you extend today often circles back to benefit you later. Sometimes years later. Maybe it's the employee you part ways with gracefully who refers top talent to you later. Or the competitor you treat respectfully who becomes your partner in a surprising venture. The point is: you never know. And in tight-knit industries, your reputation is your currency. Mic Drop Moment: “Every interaction is a seed—and the most valuable harvests come from the bridges you didn't burn.” Compassion Isn't Weakness. It's Strategy. Forgiveness doesn't mean condoning poor behavior. It means not carrying resentment. You can set boundaries and still choose compassion. You can walk away from someone and still treat them with grace. Mic Drop Moment: “Just because the relationship looks like this today doesn't mean it will look like this forever.” The long game of leadership means leaving the door open—even if it's only a crack. Five Ways to Lead With Compassion—Even When It's Hard 1. Pause before reacting. Ask yourself: “What's the story I'm telling myself right now?” 2. Assume positive intent. Even if you're hurt. Especially if you're hurt. 3. Use “I” statements. Lead with your truth, not with blame. 4. Reach out with grace. A kind message can shift everything. 5. Zoom out. Will this matter five years from now? How do you want to be remembered? Key Takeaways • Lashing out is human. Leading with ownership is leadership. • Scarcity thinking creates enemies. Long-term thinking builds networks. • Your reputation travels. People remember how you made them feel. • Grace is strategic. Leave room for future reconnection. • Forgiveness fosters emotional maturity, team health, and future growth. Call to Action: Lead With Integrity, Even in Discomfort Think of one person you've mentally written off. Someone you feel hurt by. Ask yourself: • What kind of relationship would I want with them in five years? • What's one small act of compassion I can offer—today? Maybe it's a message. Maybe it's just letting go. Either way, take the high road. Because your future self just might thank you. Connect with Kerry Don't forget to subscribe to Reflect Forward on your favorite podcast platform or YouTube. Jace welcomes Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing back to the show to chat about Star Trek. The guys start off by looking back on the second act of their Star Trek run specially for the two big events that took place during it, Day of Blood and Lore War. Their is plenty of talk about legacy, emotion and character with Lore and Kahless specifically. Then the discussion pivots to the new era of Star Trek that will be the setting for The Last Starship. A Star Trek story set farther into the future than any Star Trek story has ever explored. It is a darker universe following the catastrophic event known as The Burn, wherein all dilithium has become enert and 96% of Starfleet personal, along with trillions of citizens galaxy-wide, have lost their lives due to this unforeseen occurence. Into the chaos of these events, perhaps the most legendary Starship captain of all time, James T. Kirk, will return. It's a wonderful place for someone who has never read Star Trek to jump on, just as it will excite long-time readers with a tone that Star Trek hasn't explored much in the past. There is incredibly textured art by Adrian Bonilla and to hear Jackson and Collin tell it, he is as passionate about Star Trek as they are, so expect great things artistically. Final Order Cut-Off for The Last Starship is August 18th, so let your comic shop know that you want a copy and be ready when it arrives in shops on September 24th.

While this can be productive for the content, it's not good for your mental health or overall business (if you need to be more creative or sell things).
