Tomorrow is the fourth anniversary of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade. Brittany Fonteno, President and CEO of the National Abortion Federation (NAF) and the National Abortion Hotline, sits down to talk with us about NAF's new report, which shows a marked uptick in anti-abortion violence in the years since Roe's overturning. The Roe decision came down in 1973. NAF was formed in 1977 and began tracking violence and disruption against independent abortion providers, Planned Parenthood affiliates, hospitals, and individual providers that very same year. The Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act was passed on bipartisan lines in 1994 to combat harassment, violence, blockading, and threats in front of abortion clinics. But in his first few weeks in office this term, Trump pardoned nearly two dozen anti-abortion extremists and has set aside a $2 billion fund-- partly to protect those who violate the FACE Act-- from legal consequences. There is still in-person harassment outside of clinics, but rates of online harassment, death threats to providers, and harassment rooted in racism and xenophobia have skyrocketed in recent years. For more information, check out Boom! In this conversation with the principals of Tim Barber Architects, the discussion explores how architecture has evolved since 2020. The pandemic fundamentally changed how people live in their homes, forcing architects to rethink everything from spatial organization and material choices to health, resilience, and long-term adaptability. The architects describe a profession balancing client desires, environmental realities, and community responsibility. Topics include aging in place, the shift away from open floor plans, rebuilding after wildfire loss, and the growing role of resilience and sustainability in residential design. Designer Resources Pacific Sales Kitchen and Home. Where excellence meets expertise. TimberTech – Real wood beauty without the upkeep Shelter Republic – Request your membership invitation The conversation also examines larger systemic issues—from the housing crisis and the loss of architectural criticism to concerns about deregulating the architectural profession and the future pipeline of architects. Ultimately, the discussion reveals architecture as both a creative discipline and a civic responsibility. Tim Barber, Kelly Becker, David Stone, Ari Engleman, Katie Peterson-Hesketh Post-Pandemic Spatial Design Homes are now workplaces, classrooms, and wellness environments. Architects are designing more flexible, compartmentalized spaces rather than large open rooms. The Reassessment of the Open Floor Plan Open layouts are losing popularity as homeowners seek acoustic separation, privacy, and spatial hierarchy. Healthy Homes Clients increasingly ask about air quality, non-toxic materials, EMF concerns, and overall wellness in the built environment. Aging in Place & Multigenerational Living Homes are being designed for lifelong occupancy, with elevators, adaptable bathrooms, and secondary primary suites. Housing Crisis Misconceptions The problem is not a lack of housing overall but a shortage of affordable, well-located housing. Sustainability Through Longevity The most sustainable building is the one that already exists. Adaptive reuse and generational homes are key strategies. Fire Resilience and Climate Adaptation Wildfire rebuild projects are forcing architects to rethink materials, structural resilience, and building codes. “Performance Spending” Homeowners must choose between visible luxury and invisible resilience investments. Architects as Client Advocates Architects frequently guide clients away from poor decisions through education and alternatives rather than simply saying “no.” Material Uncertainty and Construction Cost Volatility Rapid cost changes and new materials create challenges for planning and specification. Professional Deregulation Concerns Removing architectural licensing protections could threaten safety, quality, and professional standards. Education and Knowledge Sharing The firm runs an internal “university” model to continuously train staff and share knowledge. Loss of Architectural Criticism The disappearance of critics and serious architectural journalism has created a cultural vacuum in evaluating design. Adaptive Reuse and Density Office conversions and moderate urban density may become major architectural trends. Future of Residential Design Homes may become smaller but more sophisticated—prioritizing performance, durability, and resilience.

Welcome back to Astronomy Daily! In today's episode, Anna and Avery cover six of the biggest stories in space and astronomy for Friday June nineteenth, twenty twenty-six — from a salty surprise on a mysterious pink world to a little rover completing a marathon on Mars.   Story 1: JWST Reveals Salty Clouds on the 'Pink Planet' GJ504b Northwestern University astronomers have used the James Webb Space Telescope to finally crack open the spectrum of GJ504b — the so-called 'Pink Planet' 57 light-years away. The discovery, published in The Astronomical Journal on June 18, reveals an atmosphere filled with exotic chemistry and salt clouds unlike anything previously observed. At just 550°F, it's the coldest planetary-mass companion ever directly imaged. Whether it's a giant planet or a brown dwarf remains an open question, but its salty skies are a first for astronomy. Study led by Aneesh Baburaj, Northwestern University's CIERA. Story 2: Astronomers Solve the Mystery of Black Holes' Delayed Radio 'Burps' Using the NSF's Very Large Array, a team led by Kate Alexander (University of Arizona) has found that roughly 40% of all tidal disruption events — moments when a supermassive black hole shreds a passing star — produce a powerful delayed radio burst months to years after the initial flare. The study, announced June 16, also identifies a chemical fingerprint in early optical spectra that can predict which black holes are likely to produce these late-stage outbursts, giving astronomers a roadmap for long-term monitoring. Story 3: SpaceX Launches NROL-179 — the 14th NRO Proliferated Architecture Mission SpaceX launched NROL-179 from Vandenberg Space Force Base in the early hours of June 19, making it the 14th mission dedicated to building out the National Reconnaissance Office's 'proliferated architecture' — a constellation of small, resilient surveillance satellites. It was the 71st Falcon 9 launch of 2026. Mission details including satellite count and orbit remain classified. Story 4: Astrobotic Unveils Griffin-1: NASA's Moon Base II Lander Pittsburgh-based Astrobotic publicly revealed its Griffin-1 lunar lander on June 15, ahead of environmental testing at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Designated 'Moon Base II' by NASA, Griffin-1 is a 650kg-capacity infrastructure-class lander targeting the lunar south pole region. It will carry 10 payloads from 6 nations, led by Astrolab's FLIP rover (500kg), and is scheduled to launch on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy in Q4 2026. Astrobotic has been recently acquired by Voyager Technologies. Story 5: Lucy Reveals the Life Story of Double-Lobed Asteroid Donaldjohanson Results from NASA's Lucy spacecraft's April 2025 flyby of asteroid 52246 Donaldjohanson were published in Science on June 18. The study, led by Simone Marchi (Southwest Research Institute), reveals a contact binary with a surface over 40 million years old and a younger neck (under 20 million years) built by slow-motion landslides triggered as sunlight gradually braked the asteroid's rotation from a few hours to its current 252.6-hour period. Donaldjohanson is likely a fragment of the Erigone family's parent body, destroyed ~155 million years ago. Story 6: Perseverance Rover Completes a Marathon Distance on Mars NASA's Perseverance rover has driven more than 26.2 miles (42.2 km) on Mars since landing in Jezero Crater in February 2021 — completing a marathon distance. The rover continues science operations beyond the crater's western rim, studying some of the oldest rocks in the mission's history. Perseverance is approaching Opportunity's all-time distance record of 45.16 km for a rover on another world. Mission operations are funded through at least 2028.   Links & References • JWST Pink Planet (GJ504b): The Astronomical Journal, June 18 2026 — Northwestern University / CIERA • TDE Radio Burps: NSF VLA / University of Arizona — Kate Alexander et al., announced June 16 2026 • NROL-179: space.com / spaceflightnow.com — launched June 19 2026 • Griffin-1: astrobotic.com / spacenews.com / spaceflightnow.com — unveiled June 15 2026 • Lucy / Donaldjohanson: Science journal, June 18 2026 — Simone Marchi, Southwest Research Institute • Perseverance Marathon: space.com — June 18 2026Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/astronomy-daily-space-news-updates--5648921/support.Sponsor Details:Ensure your online privacy by using NordVPN. Disruption is often viewed as something to avoid or manage. But what if it could become one of the most effective catalysts for meaningful change? In this episode of Finding Brave, I sit down with Dr. Patrick Leddin to unpack why disruption is not the enemy many of us believe it to be, and how learning to work with it can truly transform our lives and careers. Dr. Patrick Leddin is a former Airborne Ranger infantry officer, entrepreneur, global keynote speaker, and longtime Vanderbilt University faculty member whose research focuses on how leaders and organizations can thrive through disruption. He is also the host of The Disruption Lab with Patrick Leddin, PhD, and the co-author, with James Patterson, of the New York Times bestselling book Disrupt Everything―and Win. Drawing on years of research and conversations with leaders across industries, Patrick shares what he's learned about embracing change and using disruption as a force for good. In our conversation, Patrick shares what he's hearing from leaders as AI reshapes organizations and creates new opportunities and uncertainties. Through research, business case studies, and his own experiences in the military and the business world, he explores what it means to thrive in ambiguity when the rules are being rewritten in real time. He explains why the most disruptive thing you can do sometimes is say "no" to change and why taking time to discern the right response can make all the difference when facing uncertainty. He also shares insights on navigating career disruption in the era of AI-driven change, developing the strengths of a Positive Disrupter, and building teams that can adapt when the future feels uncertain. RUSSIAN WARSHIP FIRES WARNING SHOTS NEAR YACHT IN THE ENGLISH CHANNEL.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-English Channel: This morning a Russian warship engaged a private yacht 20 miles off the coast of the Isle of Wight. The Krivak V-Class Frigate (FFG) Admiral Grigorovich fired warning shots in the general vicinity of privately owned yacht, which did allegedly not heed audible warnings to steer clear, and was approaching their position outside Britain's territorial waters. No damage or casualties were reported during the incident, and two Royal Navy vessels were also on station, shadowing the Grigorovich during the incident.Analyst Comment: The proverbial business appears to be getting out of control on the high seas, and this is the latest escalation to occur in the region over the past few days. Two days ago, the Royal Navy boarded and seized the Russian dark-fleet tanker (the M/T SMYRTOS) in the Channel, continuing the recent trend of NATO members capturing ships smuggling oil from Russia, to the global grey-market. As a result, this little spat could be more along the lines of diplomacy by warning shot.Middle East: As the peace settlement continues to move toward a signing on Friday, the Iranians and Americans are continuing to enforce the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Overnight, at least one vessel was reportedly fired upon by the Iranians for attempting to transit the Strait without prior coordination, however this has not been confirmed by the UKMTO yet.-HomeFront-USA: Yesterday evening mass waves of 911 call center outages were reported. Disruptions to emergency services were noted in Iowa, Arizona, Texas, and Washington due to the outage, and no further details have been provided on the cause of the incident.California: A crash of a B-52 Stratofortress was reported at Edwards Air Force Base during a routine training mission testing a new radar system. The crash reportedly took place immediately after takeoff, and the circumstances of the incident have not yet been disclosed. All 8x members of the crew were killed in the crash.Washington D.C. - Following Sunday's UFC event on the White House lawn, the FBI has released the details of an alleged terror attack targeting the venue. So far, five suspects have been arrested by federal authorities for attempting to carry out a complex coordinated attack at the event. Per the FBI, the attack was alleged to have utilized sniper teams, explosive drones, and a breach of the perimeter fence.Analyst Comment: Right now, very few details have been provided on what would have been one of the most substantial terrorist attacks in recent memory. This would also be one of the very few terror attacks that was foiled ahead of time, and many questions remain regarding the circumstances of this whole affair.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Contradictions also continue regarding the status of the peace deal in the Middle East. Yesterday, President Trump took to social media to explicitly state that the $300 million (sic) payment to Iran that is part of the leaked deal terms, is fake news. However, this morning Vice President Vance flat-out confirmed that the Iranians will have access to a $300 Billion fund, which will be made available to Iran as part of their cooperation in the agreement. As a result of these contradictions, the contents of the peace deal remain up in the air, even though the document has already been digitally signed by all parties, pending the wet signature ceremony on Friday. Analyst: S2A1 Research: https://publish.obsidian.md/s2underground Disclaimer: No LLMs were used in the writing of this report. //END REPORT//

In this episode of Tank Talks, Matt Cohen sits down with Michael Arbus, CEO of moomoo Canada, for a wide-ranging conversation on Wall Street trading floors, Canadian fintech, crypto regulation, AI-powered investing, and what it really takes to build and scale financial technology companies. Michael's career has taken him from the chaos of Bay Street and Wall Street desks at firms like RBC Capital Markets, TD, UBS, and Merrill Lynch to operating industrial businesses, helping scale Bitbuy into a regulated Canadian crypto marketplace, and now leading moomoo Canada as it pushes into self-directed retail trading, AI tools, options education, and investor communities.Michael shares the lessons he learned from covering major hedge funds, why one trade during the financial crisis made him rethink his role as an advisor, how spreadsheet-driven decision-making helped him turn around operating businesses, and why retail investors in Canada are ready for better tools than the legacy banking platforms have historically offered. They also dive into moomoo's AI-native product strategy, agentic investing, algorithmic trading in natural language, Canada's loyalty to big banks, the rise of retail options trading, and the founder advice Michael wishes more entrepreneurs would hear before wasting years on a business that cannot support them.Whether you're a fintech founder, startup operator, retail investor, trader, or Canadian tech ecosystem builder, this episode is packed with sharp, practical insights on the future of investing, AI, and financial platforms. From Trading Floor Chaos to Wall Street Scar Tissue (03:30)Michael describes life on massive institutional trading floors as a “casino with pumped oxygen and insanity.” The early mornings, morning meetings, nonstop client calls, and constant pressure to be relevant. Why the trading desk taught him how to process information quickly and turn noise into action.Investing in Businesses vs. Investing in Stocks (12:12)Matt and Michael break down the difference between knowing a ticker and understanding the actual company underneath it. Why some good businesses can be bad stocks, and some bad businesses can still become great trades.Scaling Bitbuy and Learning the Reality of Regulation (22:33)Michael shares how he joined Bitbuy when the business was growing but still needed operational structure. The shift from institutional finance to B2C financial services. Why serving retail customers creates a much deeper sense of accountability, especially when people are trusting a platform with their hard-earned money. What moomoo Actually Is and Why Canada Matters (27:41)Michael explains moomoo's global footprint across markets like Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, the U.S., and Canada. The scale of Futu Holdings, the role of product and R&D, and why joining a 4,000-person global fintech machine was very different from building Bitbuy from a smaller startup team.Canada's Loyalty Problem With Big Banks (29:44)Why Canadian retail investors are deeply loyal to legacy banking brands. Michael explains how trust, safety, and brand recognition are baked into Canadian financial behavior, and why moomoo believes a regulated challenger brand can win by offering a product Canadian investors have not seen before.AI Trading Inside the moomoo App (35:55)How moomoo became one of Canada's first AI brokerage platforms. Why its AI tools are different from generic public LLMs because they are connected to paid, live market data behind the platform's firewall. How this changes the quality of answers retail investors can access. Can moomoo Challenge Canada's Banking Giants? (41:24)Michael explains who moomoo is built for and who it is not built for. Why the next generation of investors may care more about control, education, and outperformance than branch loyalty. How AI, job market uncertainty, and personal financial pressure could make self-directed investing more important.Canada's Top Trader and the Nasdaq Partnership (43:20)Michael shares moomoo Canada's trading competition, including real prize money, a $100,000 top prize, and partnership with Nasdaq. Why the initiative is designed to bring retail investors into the market in a more systematic, educated way.Can Your Startup Actually Pay for Your Life? (47:42)Michael explains why founders need to calculate their personal take-home pay before committing years to a venture. The danger of getting caught in a self-fulfilling story that feels exciting but cannot support the builder behind it.The Leadership Lesson That Still Matters Most (51:32)Michael closes with a simple but powerful lesson: kindness goes a long way. After scaling multiple teams from small groups to dozens or more than 100 people, he explains why intelligence is common, but kindness is what compounds in leadership, hiring, and company building.About Michael ArbusMichael Arbus is the CEO of moomoo Canada, a global self-directed investing and trading platform under Futu Holdings focused on retail investors, trading tools, market data, options education, and AI-powered investing experiences. Before joining moomoo, Michael built a diverse career across institutional finance, entrepreneurship, industrial operations, crypto, and fintech. He spent years on Bay Street and Wall Street trading desks at firms including RBC Capital Markets, TD, UBS, and Merrill Lynch, working with global hedge funds and covering M&A event-driven situations, mining, and energy stocks. He later moved into operating businesses, including oil, scrap metal, industrial recycling, and crypto mining, before helping scale Bitbuy into one of Canada's leading regulated crypto marketplaces. Today, Michael is focused on expanding moomoo Canada, bringing institutional-grade tools to retail traders, and helping Canadian investors understand the future of AI, options trading, and self-directed financial platforms.Connect with Michael Arbus on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-arbus-cfa-mba-299a49/Visit the moomoo Canada website: https://www.moomoo.com/caConnect with Matt Cohen on LinkedIn: https://ca.linkedin.com/in/matt-cohen1Visit the Ripple Ventures website: https://www.rippleventures.com/ This is a public episode. If you've ever wondered what your insurance agency is really worth in today's market, and whether now is the right time to sell, this episode cuts straight to the chase. Brandon Schuh and Nick Hartmann sit down with two sharp industry voices: Varada Bhat, Senior Correspondent at the Financial Times' P&C Specialist, and James Graham, Managing Director at MarshBerry, the nation's leading M&A advisory firm for insurance brokerages. Together, they untangle the intersection of AI disruption, carrier strategy, and brokerage valuations in what is shaping up to be one of the most pivotal moments in the history of independent insurance distribution.Varada Bhat opens the conversation with a ground-level view of where the personal lines market stands today, transitioning out of a hard market cycle, into a softer, more competitive landscape where carrier retention has become the new growth strategy. She digs into State Farm's sweeping workforce realignment, the broader shift away from the captive agent model across carriers like Allstate and Nationwide, and how AI is splitting the industry into two camps: those stuck in pilot mode and those already deploying agentic AI across claims and operations. The critical takeaway? Underwriting discipline and customer service still matter more than any algorithm.James Graham follows with the kind of inside-baseball analysis you can only get from someone doing valuation work every single day. He breaks down why private brokerage multiples have held steady even as public broker valuations dropped more than 20% from their March 2025 peak, and why that divergence makes sense. He lays out what buyers are really paying for right now (organic growth, scale, and retention), why the softening market is the real driver of multiple compression, not AI, and why the fundamentals of the insurance brokerage business remain among the strongest of any industry. For agency owners wondering whether to sell now or wait, his perspective is a must-hear.Chapters00:00 Introduction 04:47 Varada Bhat Interview Begins: P&C Market Overview06:28 Carrier Retention as the New Growth Strategy07:24 AI in Insurance: Pilot Phase vs. Deployed Reality09:48 State Farm, Allstate & the Decline of Captive Agents11:55 AI Automation: Simple vs. Complex Insurance Products14:22 Lemonade, Root & the Insuretech Valuation Reality Check16:55 Geico Hires Goldman Sachs CMO: UX and Millennial Strategy19:47 AI Regulation in Insurance: NAIC Guidelines & State Laws21:33 Who's Best Positioned to Win the AI Era?24:40 Personal Cyber Policies & Consumer Data Privacy26:23 Insurance Affordability as a Political Issue32:29 James Graham Interview Begins: MarshBerry Origin Story34:35 Public vs. Private Broker Valuation Divergence39:16 What Buyers Are Really Looking For Today: Organic Growth41:55 Private Equity Activity: Strategic vs. Dry Powder Deals43:58 EBITDA Multiples: Are 11-12x the New Normal?46:06 Debt Leverage, Hold Times & PE Exit Bottlenecks48:02 AI's Role in Brokerage Multiple Compression50:10 Revenue Per Employee & the AI Productivity Argument52:58 Regulation as Insurance's AI Moat55:26 Client Retention Post-Acquisition: What Really Drives It57:48 2026–2027 Outlook: Will Big Blockbuster Deals Continue?Connect with RiskCellar:Website: https://www.riskcellar.com/James GrahamWebsite: https://www.marshberry.com/about/our-team/james-graham/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/james-graham-b91a5214Varada BhatLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/varada-bhatBrandon Schuh:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552710523314LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brandon-stephen-schuh/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/schuhpapa/Nick Hartmann:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nickjhartmann/

Episode 304 reunites The Analysts — Remarkable Retail's celebrated panel of Forrester's Sucharita Kodali, Guggenheim's Simeon Siegel, and GlobalData's Neil Saunders — to take stock of retail coming out of earnings season. Steve Dennis and Michael LeBlanc open on the paradox of 2026: results are largely strong, sentiment is dismal. Simeon argues the link between the two is "tenuous at best" — people talk one way and spend another. Neil has the data: roughly 60% of shoppers who expect the economy to worsen still spent more than a year ago, propped up by spring tax refunds that won't repeat. Then the K-shaped economy. Higher-income households drive most of the real volume growth; middle-income shoppers prop up value growth mainly because prices are higher. Sucharita revisits "peak ambiguity" and the "vibe session," noting record sales barely outrun stubborn inflation. The panel unpacks the standouts — Ross's 17% comp, Victoria's Secret up 15% — and debates GLP-1's role in surging apparel and beauty: wardrobe replacement, new confidence, trading up to statement pieces. On turnarounds, Simeon lands the episode's sharpest thesis: brands "ubiquitize" and peak around $3–4 billion in the US. Lululemon got too big, over-distributed, and over-earning — so the bad sales have to "walk out the door" before the brand can re-elevate, the same lens that frames Nike's long reset. He and Sucharita draw the Gap parallel ahead of Simeon's on-stage interview with Mickey Drexler, noting Old Navy now dwarfs Gap itself. Neil makes the case for Macy's under Tony Spring — basics fixed first, satisfaction and visitation improving — while Steve stays skeptical of the pace. Next, the DTC reckoning. Simeon reframes his old "DTC is not all it's cracked up to be" call as "anti-anti-wholesale": outside high-margin luxury, nearly every brand needs a healthy wholesale business — and stores remain the best channel because "the customer is your employee." Sucharita pushes back on the AI narrative, reminding everyone it's far more than generative hype, as the panel digs into why scaled players — Amazon, Walmart, Costco, off-price — keep compounding through retail media, marketplaces, and flywheel economics. It closes on the wealth effect, trillion-dollar market caps, and whether a market correction could rattle high-end spending — then rapid-fire hot takes: brands to watch (Cozey, Ross Stores, Goyard) and what's on each analyst's radar, from inflation and surging oil prices to a quiet "middle of the doughnut" news lull and an election year's hunt for stability. Vik and I sat down to talk through 11th now that we've got most of the rules, even if points are still the missing piece. Dave is about 35 games in, while Vik is coming at it from the “read the rules, built lists, haven't played yet” angle.Short version: we're pretty positive. Not in a “GW nailed everything” way, but this is a much stronger launch state than we expected. It feels like there's already a real game here.1. Scoring feels very differentThe old 10th edition plan of “hold my expansion, deny yours, win on primary” doesn't really work the same way anymore.Because missions are asymmetric, throwing a unit away to deny points can also give your opponent points somewhere else. Games seem higher scoring overall, and pushing big differential feels harder unless you properly run someone over.2. Dispositions are a big win gameplay wiseThe disposition system feels like one of the best parts of the edition. It gives list building more texture again.Purge pushes you toward killing and aggression. Recon feels the most like normal 40k. Priority Assets seems solid for singles. Disruption is the one we're least sold on right now, because it often asks you to kill something and do actions, which can get awkward. That said, we don't think you should pick a bad detachment just because it has a better disposition. The detachment is still the main thing, but disposition definitely changes how you build the last part of your list.3. Hidden is better than expected (now that is 12" - go to ground)At first, 15" hidden didn't sound that impactful. But with Go to Ground bringing it to 12", it matters a lot more.It changes how units stage, how objectives are held, and how you force your opponent to come closer before they can interact. That's good.It doesn't solve everything though. Slow six-inch melee infantry still looks rough unless it has real delivery, advance and charge, miracle dice, ingress, transports, or some other trick.Move blocking has changed shapeOld-style move blocking is much weaker. You can't just put five models an inch in front of a tank and expect it to be stuck forever. Vehicles and monsters moving through infantry is a good change overall. But move blocking isn't gone. It's now more about:using 2" engagement range properlyblocking where models can enddenying access to terraintagging things awkwardlyusing the fight phase and pivot wellTwo-inch engagement range feels huge, and good players are going to get a lot out of it.Vehicles and transportsVehicles are better, but we don't think the edition is just “fast gun wins.” Cover matters, minus one to hit is strong, hidden matters, and shooting without ignore cover can feel rough.Transports are one of the areas we're less positive on. Base-to-base disembarking is a massive change (when destroyed), and losing a transport in the wrong place can expose the unit inside immediately. Drukhari especially feel like they need to relearn a lot of old staging patterns.OverallWe're genuinely impressed. There are still worries around slow melee, map balance, transports, and whatever points end up doing, but the foundation feels strong. Most factions seem to have something playable, games feel less deterministic, list building is more interesting, and universal terrain is a huge win.For a launch state, this is probably the best 40k has felt in a long time.

Disruption isn't new. But right now, it feels different. Technology, economic pressures, geopolitical shifts, changing workforce expectations – they're all colliding at speed. And at the centre of it all is AI.  The challenge isn't just how to respond - and in real time - but to rethink how businesses work. AI is central to this shift. It's already changing how work gets done, how decisions are made, and how value is created. So, the question is no longer "how do we use AI?" but "are organisations designed to fully realise its potential?" Because many aren't. But reinvention isn't easy. It requires leaders to challenge long-held assumptions, rethink how value is created, and close the gap between technology investment and workforce readiness. Because as access to AI becomes more widespread, it won't be the technology that sets organisations apart – it will be how it's used. So, how is AI reshaping work – and the way it gets done? What does good human and AI collaboration look like day to day? And if everyone has access to AI, what will truly differentiate businesses? That's what we're exploring in this episode of The Green Room with Bruce Daisley, best-selling author and future of work expert and Kate Sweeney, Human Capital Consulting Leader at Deloitte UK, as we ask: Are we planning enough for AI? Five weeks into her role as CFO of Catalant, Christina Spade is helping guide a company that she believes is positioned for a different era of consulting.Catalant was founded out of Harvard Business School in 2013 and began as an independent consultant matchmaking company, Spade tells us. Today, she describes the firm as a “Consulting 2.0” business built around agile, fit-for-purpose consulting designed to help organizations solve problems and create value more quickly. The company's evolution mirrors broader changes in the consulting industry. Independent consultants were often viewed skeptically a decade ago, Spade tells us. But as organizations sought greater efficiency during and after COVID, many finance leaders began looking for more flexible ways to access expertise. That shift helped Catalant move beyond matching individual consultants with projects. The company now works with Fortune 500 organizations, assembling teams of experts tailored to specific business challenges, Spade tells us. Technology and AI play an increasingly important role, helping match consultants to projects and supporting consultants as they execute client work.Spade's strategic mindset is reflected in one of her favorite quotes from golfer Sam Snead: “Only play against par.” Rather than focusing primarily on competitors, she believes organizations should concentrate on the business problems they are uniquely positioned to solve. That same philosophy informs her view of consulting economics. While billable hours remain important, Spade tells us that clients increasingly prefer outcome-based engagements. Success, she argues, should be measured by whether a project achieves its intended objectives, whether that means improving efficiency, strengthening customer understanding, or developing an executable AI strategy.

A memoir of a child's forced relocation to Siberia under Stalin's Gulag system reveals the potential for true human kindness in the face of extraordinary hardship.  In April of 1940, six-year-old Ida woke to the sound of pounding on her door. Soviet soldiers forcibly packed her and her mother onto a train with thousands of their neighbors and deported them to remote Siberia, leaving them stranded to survive the brutal winter in subhuman conditions. Looking back, Ida shares their struggles: foraging for food, trying to reunite with her imprisoned father, spending weeks in a desolate hospital with typhoid fever, and adapting to shifts in the political climate to make the long journey home to Poland. Ida published this acclaimed memoir in her native Polish in 2011. Here, Ida's granddaughter, Isabella Skrypczak, translates her babcia's words and provides additional context—including describing the remarkable life Ida has gone on to live as a pioneering doctor. In the vein of Anne Frank's The Diary of a Young Girl, A Polish Girl in Siberia: Surviving and Transcending Exile (Disruption Books, 2026) chronicles Ida's experiences on a lesser-known front of the Second World War. Together, Ida and Isabella reflect on how every small act of kindness contributed to Ida's liberation from exile and ability to build a life and a family. Her story celebrates the capacity of the human spirit to not only survive trauma but thrive beyond it.Ida Kinalska-Pietruska survived childhood exile to Siberia during the Soviet Union's World War II assault on Poland. On Episode 304 of the Remarkable Retail podcast, co-hosts Steve Dennis and Michael LeBlanc dig into a busy earnings season, the global forces reshaping retail, and the competitive divides separating winners from also-rans. They open with the department store sector, which Steve frames as "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly." Macy's shows incremental progress and Bloomingdale's posts double-digit growth, but Kohl's stays stuck and JCPenney's latest numbers underscore the structural problems dogging traditional operators. The throughline: shifting market share, real estate decisions, and changing consumer behavior keep narrowing the path forward for the format, and the gap between the sector's healthier players and its laggards continues to widen. From there, the hosts turn to retail's brighter turnaround stories. Victoria's Secret keeps building momentum with stronger comps and improved profitability, while Gap Inc. shows how disciplined brand management and sharper product focus can revive a business. They also weigh the intensifying competition among athleisure brands as the category's leaders pull further ahead and the middle of the pack scrambles to keep up. Value retailing is the episode's recurring theme. TJX, Ross Stores, Burlington, and Five Below all posted strong results, reinforcing the durable consumer shift toward value and the treasure hunt. Steve and Michael explore why off-price keeps outperforming while dollar stores wrestle with a tougher customer—and they spotlight Costco, where fuel, membership economics, and traffic-driving loss leaders keep the warehouse club model ahead of much of the sector. Drawing on his recent travels through Portugal and Spain, Steve shares observations on European retail: the distinct dynamics of specialty players, the enduring pull of department stores like El Corte Inglés, and one of the world's most remarkable retail experiences, Livraria Lello in Porto, a bookstore so beloved that shoppers pay admission and book a timeslot just to get in. The episode closes with Walmart's fast-expanding same-day delivery, the rise of faster fulfillment across retail, Saks Global's exit from bankruptcy, and the geopolitical risks looming over supply chains and consumer spending. Michael also previews his visit to T&T Supermarket's first California store—a reminder of how much innovation is still alive in modern grocery. It's a wide-ranging look at a sector where the winners are pulling away and the stragglers are running out of time. What if the disruption you have been trying to avoid is actually the thing that could transform your life? In this episode of Winners Find A Way, Coach Trent M. Clark sits down with Suzie Hall, global entrepreneur, award-winning interior designer, Founder and CEO of The Cornerstone Collective, speaker, and author of Blessed Disruption: Transforming Trauma Into Triumph. Suzie grew up surrounded by elite athletics as the daughter of a major college football coach. From bowl games to college athletics to entrepreneurship, she learned early what performance, pressure, competition, and resilience look like. But behind the success and achievement, Suzie also experienced personal trauma, disconnection, and seasons of painful disruption that eventually led her to a powerful life reset. In this conversation, Trent and Suzie talk about athletics, entrepreneurship, faith, vulnerability, leadership, personal transformation, and what it means to become the head coach of your own life. This episode is a reminder that winners are not people who never face pain, failure, or setbacks. Winners are the ones who choose to heal, grow, adapt, and find a way forward. In This Episode, We Discuss: Suzie's background growing up in a major college football family How athletics helped shape her confidence, risk tolerance, and leadership Why losing is part of life, business, and personal growth The meaning behind Suzie's book Blessed Disruption How trauma can create disconnection when it is left unprocessed Why halftime can become a powerful reset point in life The difference between accidental disruption and intentional disruption How to stop playing victim and become the head coach of your life Why vulnerability can lead to freedom and healing The importance of discipline, morning routines, faith, and personal growth How parents and leaders teach more through how they show up than what they say Why people need to give themselves permission to play a bigger game Key Takeaways ✨ Disruption can become a blessing when you choose to grow through it. Suzie reminds us that painful seasons can become turning points when we use them to heal, reset, and transform. ✨ You win or you learn. Trent and Suzie talk about how sports teaches us that losing is not final. It is feedback. The lesson is what matters. ✨ Halftime is a chance to reset. When life feels like it has exploded, that may be the moment to pause, reflect, and choose how you want to show up moving forward. ✨ You are responsible for your own scoreboard. Suzie shares how she learned to stop standing on the sidelines and become the head coach of her own life. ✨ Healing starts with awareness. Before we can change our story, mindset, or patterns, we need to become honest about what is holding us back. ✨ Vulnerability creates freedom. Sharing our stories can feel scary, but it can also release the pain that has been holding us hostage. ✨ Small first downs matter. Instead of always going for the Hail Mary, growth often comes from daily discipline, small wins, and consistent action. About Suzie Hall Suzie Hall is a global entrepreneur, award-winning interior designer, Founder and CEO, speaker, and author. She published her memoir, Blessed Disruption: Transforming Trauma Into Triumph, in 2025. Growing up as the daughter of a major college football coach exposed her to elite athletics, competition, high stakes, and the mindset of leaving it all on the field. After transforming herself and her life after what she calls her "Halftime explosion," Suzie now leads and inspires others through her story, faith, and lived experience. 1. Iranian Uranium Stockpile Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile is the central sticking point in negotiations. The U.S. position is: Iran must surrender, transfer, or destroy its uranium entirely No compromise on retaining enriched material is acceptable This is a more aggressive stance than past U.S. policies (e.g., Obama-era agreements focused on limits, not elimination). 2. Diplomacy to Pressure Strategy Diplomatic negotiations Active military pressure Mentions: “self-defense strikes” naval deployments near the Strait of Hormuz 3. Strait of Hormuz as a Global Pressure Point The strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz: ~20% of global oil supply passes through it Disruptions affect oil prices, inflation, and global markets Current situation: Partially open Highly militarized Unstable 4. Negotiation Dynamics Multiple countries involved as mediators: Oman, Qatar, Pakistan Possible compromise ideas mentioned: Transfer uranium to third countries (Pakistan, Turkey, Russia, China) Dilution under supervision 5. Global Stakeholders China → dependent on oil flow Europe → sensitive to energy prices Gulf states → reliant on exports Israel → concerned about security Russia → may benefit from energy instability 6. Economic and Market Impact Disruptions to shipping have caused: Increased insurance costs Rerouted vessels Oil market volatility Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now.
