In my coaching and consultations with climbers, it's become pretty obvious that there are common bouldering grade plateaus at around V4, V6 or 7, and V9 or 10, and that the vast majority of stuck boulderers fall into these three ranges. There is a single, relatively small skillset that can help climbers break through these common bouldering grade plateaus – or even avoid them altogether. In dieser Predigt setzen wir unsere Reihe zum Epheserbrief fort und tauchen tiefer in die Frage nach unserer **Identität** ein. Oft suchen wir unsere Identität in äußeren Faktoren wie Beruf, Besitz oder Beziehungen. Doch diese sind vergänglich und kratzen nur an der Oberfläche der tiefen Frage: Wer bin ich wirklich?Wir beleuchten Epheser 1,7-14 und entdecken, welche unglaublichen Segnungen und eine neue Identität Gott uns in Jesus Christus schenkt:* **Erlöst und Vergeben (V7-8):** Wir wurden durch das kostbare Blut Jesu am Kreuz von unserer Sündensklaverei **freigekauft** und unsere Übertretungen sind uns vergeben. Gottes Gnade ist nicht spärlich, sondern **überströmend** – ein reicher Wasserfall der Vergebung.* **Geheimnislüftende (V9-10):** Gott hat uns den verborgenen **Heilsplan** offenbart. Durch Jesus haben nun alle Menschen, Juden und Heiden, Zugang zu Gottes Reich. Es ist ein gewaltiger Plan, der in Christus alles zusammenführt.* **Erben in IHM (V11-12):** Wir sind als Kinder Gottes **adoptiert** und somit **Miterben** eines unglaublichen Erbes. Dies geschieht allein nach Gottes Ratschluss, nicht aufgrund unserer Verdienste. Unser Leben soll zum **Lob seiner Herrlichkeit** dienen.* **Versiegelte in IHM (V13-14):** Nachdem wir das Evangelium gehört und geglaubt haben, sind wir mit dem **Heiligen Geist** versiegelt worden. Er ist die Zusage Gottes, dass wir ihm gehören und die **Anzahlung** auf unser zukünftiges Erbe in Christus.## *Praktische Anwendungen für dein Leben:*1. **Schwärmen:** Lerne, wie Paulus von Gottes großem Heilsplan zu schwärmen, auch inmitten schwieriger Umstände.2. **Lobpreis:** Lebe dein Leben zum Lob seiner Herrlichkeit. Lass deinen Alltag ein Ausdruck dieses Lobpreises sein.3. **Identität:** Stelle dich fest auf die Wahrheiten von Gottes Wort. Mache dir bewusst, wer du **in Christus** bist.4. **Erlösung annehmen & feiern:** Erinnere dich immer wieder an die Erlösung, die wir durch das Blut Jesu haben.

Our goodness is not the qualification for the relationship or the path of connection, God's goodness is. Our performance isn't what earns us an audience, it is our repentance and humility. Your feelings of unworthiness are attached to spiritual lies which are holding you captive. Freedom comes through a relationship with Christ cultivated in prayer. 3. Ya lo sabéis, en Garaje Hermético… ¡nos gustan las rarezas! Sobre todo, cuando hablamos de técnica. Y Hemos seleccionado 10 coches raros que seguro os van a sorprender, si no todos, casi todos… Siempre alabo y admiro el ingenio de los ingenieros. Me gusta mucho el diseño, pero me atraen más las rarezas cuando son mecánicas que cuando son puros ejercicio de diseño… aunque ambas cosas son compatibles. He escogido 10 rarezas, aunque teníamos más. He tratado en centrarme en coches que se han vendido, poco o mucho, aunque hay excepciones, porque por algunos de los modelos que aparecen en este vídeo, siento verdadera debilidad... 1. Alfa Romeo P3 (1932). Doble eje de transmisión. Vittorio Jano, nacido en 1891 es, sencillamente, un mito. Lo original de este coche era su transmisión. Tras el motor iba el cambio con la palanca entre las piernas del piloto y tras el cambio estaba el diferencial y desde ahí partían dos árboles de transmisión a dos coronas, una en cada rueda… realmente original. 2. Monaco Trossi (1935). Motor en estrella y tracción delantera. Su inspiración aeronáutica es evidente, con un motor de avión, de dos tiempos, 16 cilindros en estrella y 250 CV en el morro del monoplaza. Y, para hacerlo todavía más raro, con tracción delantera. 3. Isetta (1953). Entrar por delante. Pocos modelos más originales que este. Ermenegildo Preti era profesor de la Universidad Politécnica de Milán y se le ocurrió esta idea: Hacer un coche muy cortito, tanto que no había sitio para poner puertas laterales… así que se entraba por delante, por una única puerta delantera, basculando el volante. 4. Mercedes 300 SL (1954). Inyección directa de gasolina. Alguno me reprocharéis: “¿Rara la inyección directa de gasolina?” Cierto, hoy día que es lo más habitual, no es muy rara, pero os aseguro que en 1954 sí que los era. 5. Citroën 2 CV Sahara (1960). ¡Con dos motores! El ejército francés, en sus colonias africanas, necesitaba un coche todo terreno de tracción total, simple y barato. Y en Citroën decidieron partir de su probado 2CV y poner un motor en el maletero. Así consiguieron un 4x4 sencillo, barato y más francés que el champan. 6. Chrysler Turbine (1964). ¡Se vendieron 55 unidades! Hubo un momento de furor con la carrera espacial y con la aviación que las marcas de coche pensaron que las turbinas de aviación eran el futuro… y se estrellaron… Confieso que este coche, diseñado por Ghia y con turbinas A831 me apasiona… tanto que a lo mejor hago un vídeo monográfico. Con solo 130 CV el coche no corría mucho, gastaba una barbaridad y su motor tenía una temperatura de trabajo cercana a los 1.000 grados… se vendieron 55 que la marca recuperó y destruyó dejando solo 9 para la historia. 7. Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado (1968). Motor V8 y tracción delantera. A mediados de los años 60 la tracción delantera era una rareza, más en coche “Made in USA”. Cadillac rediseñó desde cero su nuevo Eldorado y en las versiones topes de gama, como la Fleetwood, la tracción delanetera se compaginaba con los enormes V9 de más de 7 litros y más de 300 CV, una pasada. 8. Lamborghini Countach (1975). Eje de transmisión por mitad del cárter. Hasta ese momento, todos los coches con motor central longitudinal llevaban el motor con el embrague hacia atrás, con el conjunto cambio diferencial a continuación. Pero con una distancia entre ejes de solo 2,5 el excelente motor V12 que ya tenían, sencillamente, no cabía. ¿Qué hicieron? Dar la vuelta al motor con el embrague y el cambio hacia el centro del coche y con un árbol de transmisión que atravesaba el cárter para llevar el movimiento al diferencial y al eje trasero. 9. Toyota Previa (1990). Motor central tumbado y propulsión posterior. Toyota quería hacer un o una, como queráis, monovolumen casi Premium y le hizo el encargo a uno de sus mejores diseñadores, Tokuo Fukuichi. Para conseguir la máxima habitabilidad y el mejor comportamiento tuvo una idea: ¿Y si pongo el motor en el centro? 10. Nissan GTR (2007). Doble árbol de transmisión. A primeros de los años 2000, Nissan quería un coche con motor delantero, porque querían superar en habitabilidad al 911, pero a la vez querían un coche con un buen reparto de pesos, lo que equivalía a montar en cambio sobre el eje trasero y al mismo tiempo querían que fuese tracción total... y aquí llegaba el lío. Así que pusieron dos árboles de transmisión. Uno conectaba el motor delantero, a través del embrague, con el cambio situado atrás. Y otro iba desde al cambio al eje delantero… así consiguieron tracción total y buen reparto de pesos. Por cierto, una solución que ya había utilizado, en este caso con motor central, el Ford RS200 en 1984. Conclusión. Muy sencilla: Había más. Me he dejado fuera coches como el Peugeot Turbo 16, con el motor a un lado, el Mini 6R4 con el motor entre las ruedas, prototipos, como el Dymaxion único coche que conozco con motor posterior y tracción delantera o el VW EA266, un supuesto sustituto del Escarabajo, con motor central bajo los asientos traseros.

We're going to be reading John 20:1-18 this Sunday, the account of Jesus' resurrection from the dead.The main purpose of John's gospel, as he explained in chapter one, is to let us know that all that Jesus did and taught was revealing what God is like and what God is up to – and here in his resurrection we see it in full bloom: redemption; new creation….RESURRECTION!As you read this account, put yourself in the place of Peter and the DWJL (the disciple whom Jesus loved) – how do you think you would have reacted to Mary's news? A Failure of Judgment - Boasting in Knowledge (Ch 4)4:1-5 - Servants and Stewards are Faithful, Not Prestigious In chapter 1, Paul asked the Church to be of the same mind and the same judgment. Chapters 2-3 explained the mind of Christ in the cross. Chapter 4 calls out their failure to judge (discern) properly. V1 - Revisiting the “Apollos” arc, he thinks leaders should be viewed as: servants (ch 3) and stewards of the mysteries of God (ch 2 & 15). The leaders in Corinth gathered followers for what they gained and The followers believed the leaders led them to greater prestige. V2 - The leaders take nothing from the followers as their goal is to be considered faithful at the coming of Jesus. Paul's rhetoric subtly questions how the leaders can be concerned with faithfulness to the truth and commitment to the growth of the people when they have so much to gain by maintaining a following. V4-5 - While Paul does want the church to honor his authority, he cuts at their ability to make wise discernment (although they brag about it in v7) by saying he isn't really concerned with their decision to disregard his teaching or criticize him directly because they clearly haven't displayed the ability to choose leadership based on sound judgment. 4:6-7 - Boasting in a Knowledge They Aren't Exercising V6 - Without the ability to discern through the lens of the cross, our judgments come from a puffed up attitude (which he will contrast in Ch 8 when he says how puffed up knowledge harms the consciences of our neighbors) V7 - If everything we have is something we have received, wouldn't that teach us that judgment/discernment is primarily that we might better know how to treat others rather than how we might better serve ourselves (boasting in knowledge)? This is a build up to the arguments he will make in 5-10 - that the judgments made by the church are harming rather than helping one another and they are allowing sin to dominate the body. 4:8-13 - Rich Corinthians and Poor Apostles Note: This entire section shifts tone and is fully sarcastic. Paul returns to his model of calling things by the opposite of what they really are. Wise/Foolish, Rich/Poor. V8 - Playing off the boasting in v7, Paul says they don't need anything anymore. No teaching, no wisdom. They have everything within their own selves and it has made them rich rulers. V9-13 - Paul gives a long list of things that clearly, anyone with knowledge and wisdom and discernment would avoid at all costs. Last of all, sentenced to death, spectacle to the world, fools for Christ, weak Hungry, thirsty, poorly dressed, buffeted, homeless, laboring When reviled-bless; when persecuted-endure; when slandered-entreat Scum of the world, refuse of all things The contemplation here is to ask what is really good for us. If the current leaders seeking gain and followers chasing prestige aren't Paul's understanding of properly discerning good and evil, what if Paul is asking the church to reverse what it calls good? Instead of being full, maybe it's good to be hungry. 4:14-21 - Be Imitators of Me V14-15 - While we all have many guides, there are few that truly care about our well-being. Paul says everyone pulling them intends to guide them someone, but only he was their spiritual father concerned for their spiritual growth. V16-17 - The judgment displayed by the church has resulted in the issues Paul will raise in the next 5 chapters. It stems from their boasting in knowledge. “All things are lawful for me.” Paul insists that instead, they imitate him. (vs9-13) V18-21 - Paul contrasts “talk” and “power”. He views all the philosophies of the world as powerless to initiate the life they want. He knows that the Spirit, teaching them how to properly discern good and evil, will lead them through hunger, thirst, etc, toward self-sacrifice - the cross - and to the true joy and peace of the Kingdom of God. Everything is Beautiful in its Time Ecclesiastes 3:1-14 July 17, 2022 I.Introduction: A. I had a very unusual experience with the passage we will look at today in Ecclesiastes 3. Please turn. For three days God kept drawing me back and opening new things to me. On the third day, he kept showing me more and more to the point where I said something I never said to God before. “God could you please stop, I really need to get some work done!” 1. I feel a deep sense of inadequacy with my finite mind to try to package into a sermon a passage that is loaded with infinite truths and some of the biggest questions that many of us ask ourselves along the way of life. 2. I may raise more questions than I answer but I trust I will be sending you down the right path to think about them. B. We are going to see three major things all intersect in this passage – God and His sovereignty, time and eternity, and man's activities here on earth. As Solomon wrestled with these three, he is going to ask a question that many of us have asked before. C. Let me do a quick side bar on God's sovereignty, as it is key in this passage and throughout the book! 1. Sovereignty –it simply means that God has the right and power to do whatever He pleases and He orders everything, controls everything, rules over everything according to His will in both heaven and here on earth! a. When you balance that out with Scripture we see two tensions to this truth 1. One God does not do or tempt anyone to evil – therefore God is not the cause or responsible for evil. 2. Romans 9-11 teaches us that while God is fully sovereign in His choices man is fully responsible for his choices. 2. When you ask me how do I fit together all the pieces of God's sovereignty and man's responsibility and accountability for his choices I respond like Paul did after three chapters of talking about this very thing. . Read Romans 11:33-36 a. This infinite truth should lead our finite minds and hearts to worship God rather than figure Him out and put Him in a box! • So, in light of these balancing truths, we are going to learn some key truths about God's sovereignty this morning. Let's jump right in the text … II. Ecclesiastes 3:1-9 A. The structure of this passage is simple 1. V1 he states the truth 2. V2-8 he illustrates the truth 3. V9 he asks the big question that comes out of this truth B. Read v1 1. By the way, in these few verses we are going to see the word “time” 30 times. Gives us a little hint about what this passage is about 2. Two different Hebrew words for time in v1 – the first has to do with a specific appointed time, the second has to do with time in general. 3. In the context of this chapter, we will see that God is the one who puts all these times on His master calendar in heaven. He has set up specific appointed times for everything here on earth long before they ever happen. 4. Verse 1 covers from the universal whole – everything in life to the specific parts – each individual event that happens on earth. C. V2-8 is reinforcing and illustrating the truth, we learned v1. 1. These fourteen sets of opposites are called a merism. A merism is a figure of speech that is used of polar opposites to suggest the totality of everything in between them. a. V2 simply that means he starts us off by showing us that God appoints everything from birth till death. Read 2a. b. The rest of the verses just flesh it out for us further. Read 2b-8 D. Now we come to the big question that Solomon asked and we often ask when we are faced with this truth, that God arranges the events of our life. 1. Read v9 2. We need to keep this question in the context of what came before it in V1-8. 3. So what he is asking is this “what value does anything I do have if God is sovereign, in control over everything?” 4. We should not take this as a cry of futility but an honest question in light of God's sovereignty. • The answer to this question is in III. Ecclesiastes 3:9-15 A. Read v10. 1. Now the answer I would have expected in light of the repeated phrase of the rest of this book is this “all man's works is vanity, like chasing after the wind.” 2. But he does not answer it that way – instead he says this - read v10-11 B. We see three major things in this verse. 1. God has made everything, yes, even all the things in V2-8 beautiful and appropriate in God's appointed time. Reread 11a 2. Secondly, God has set eternity within our heart (that is the deep-down yearning within us that wants to understand all the big questions of life), but the problem is that we cannot discover what God is doing 3. Note what he cannot discover what God is doing from the beginning even to the end. That is the big plan of God that expands beyond my life, my time and this world into eternity C. Let me try to illustrate this. We see and know only a very, very small, small piece of the tapestry that we experience and we only see the back side so things just do not make sense to us! Especially some of the hard and ugly things in our lives and this world! 1. But God's purposes expand beyond my life, my experience, my time, this world's history into eternity past and future. 2. Our little finite minds cannot understand our specific events in light of God's big plan 3. Try to illustrate this with the stage and to infinity on both sides. God's time and mind and our finite time and minds at one small point. a. To properly understand what God is doing we need to be able to understand what He is doing from eternity past and future D. Let me add one more thought about God's sovereign working in our lives and this world! 1. Read v14 2. Simply what he is saying that in light of this big sovereign plan of God, everything He does is permanent (everything God does will remain forever) and perfect (nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it) E. Now summarize the three everythings of Ecclesiastes 3 1. V1 - everything is according to God's appointed time 2. V11 everything is beautiful in that appointed time 3. V14 everything God does is permanent and perfect! 4. So that ……. fear Him . Sounds like the same conclusion that Paul came to in Romans 11 after three chapters of wrestling with these same truths! a. Do not try to figure out God or what He is doing just worship Him! – 1. A bit later in the series, I will show how fear and worship are connected! • There are a few IV. Take aways for us A. First, your activities/work/efforts here on earth are not futile but rather they are God instruments for accomplishing His eternal beautiful plan 1. Tie v1-8 to v10 – the task God has given … 2. Verse 12-13 see good in his work 3. Part of the good that man can see in his work is that God is using what he does to accomplish His big eternal and beautiful plan! B. When we allow the truths of Ecclesiastes 3 to become the northern point on the compass by which we navigate the activities and events of our lives, we regain our bearings and it gives a completely new perspective and attitude to our lives. 1. In many ways, this verse seems to me to be the Old Testament equivalent to the New Testament passage many of us claim repeatedly. Romans 8:28-29 C. Once in a while God gives us a small window into what He is doing. I was impressed with this truth on Mother's Day when Cathy Clarke was sharing with us about the loss of their son Kevin in the war 1. Hearing the amazing timing of the morning Kevin went out to his last battle before he went out he turning in an assignment where he recorded a very strong and clear testimony of his faith in Jesus Christ as his savior 2. Then for Phil and Cathy to receive word from one Kevin's superiors that the testimony was read to the company and eventually spread through the United States Marines websites. 3. We have no idea how many seeds were planted by that …how many lives have been touched – how many marriages, how many families, children. And how many of those who have been impacted by it have impacted others. 4. We can add to that how I have heard from some after that message how God used Cathy's message and sharing the process she went through in being radically honest with God has helped free them up from things they were struggling with. V. Prayerful reflection question for us . Think for a moment of one very difficult event in your life, one that caused you great pain or you just cannot understand why or what that was all about. 1. Consider when you tell others about that event or when you think about it; what does the way you tell it or think about it say about the way you interpret that event? a. Example: “the day God ripped me off?” “an unfair event” “betrayal by a friend” b. Take a moment to consider and title it from your perspective. 2. When you consider the title, you gave that event; on a scale of 1-10 how in line would your title be to the truths, we learned today in Ecclesiastes 3 and Romans 8:28. Give yourself a score 1-10 3. If you were to put a new title on that chapter of your life, even though the original title may be true, this one tells the larger story in light of the truths we learned today in Ecclesiastes 3 and Romans 8:28. . I want to encourage/challenge you that when you think or talk about that event in your life to begin to tell it from the perspective of the larger story title! a. Take a moment give that new title. The Christian Way of Living Part 2. CWLiving.org Cliff Spier [^] Lombardi believed that if you want to win at anything in life, you had to perfect and master the basics. [^] Col R.B. Thieme Jr said on 15th of August 1979. “A pivot of mature believers - which is what we all should be - break no laws, sponsors no violence, including assassination, crime, terrorism, or revolution. Confiscates no one's property. And does not intrude on human privacy. [^] But turns the world upside down through the invisible force of Bible Doctrine, and the function of, the royal family honor code.” Do you recall what God's will is? You should know and recall what one of the shortest verse in the bible is. [^] 1 Tim 2:4 who [JC] desires [wills] [1] all men to be saved [unbeliever] and [2] to come to the [epignosis] knowledge [through metabolized BD] of the truth [believer]. [^] God's will = 1) salvation; 2) 2 Peter 3:18 IOWs How God works (Thinks) (God's Righteousness, Justice and Love) So the next logical question is How does God's Righteousness get satisfied? [^ - Blank screen] Blessing or Discipline (your choice) God's Promises Learn more God's promises. So far - 1 Peter 5:7, Proverbs 3:5-6 and Lamentations 3:25. We are to use these promises to ‘slam' all our cares, anxieties and problems on God, then relaxing about them knowing that in Lam 3:25 God will provide solutions while you relax and wait on His timing. This should also give you courage. Tip -- Make a list care, problems, concerns - mine is on my phone, and cite them to God in your Faith Rest procedure prayer to God. You have to move forward every day, you have to make decisions every day. Now you can do that, even in difficult times or in pressure situations, with the courage God gives you by using the F/R procedure and having confidence in God, God will come through for you. So then trusting in God and using His procedures (acknowledging Him) He will guide your life and that life will be one of prosperity (mental prosperity - RMA) and he will guide your life with the result you will have maximum happiness and a life of fulfillment (Prov 3:5-6). [^] Problems come in two flavors; 1 - the ones we created by bad decisions (which have internal (pressure, anxiety) and external (ramifications to others)) and 2 - problems others created and put on us (these can be circumstances of life or overt decisions made by others that cause you problems, including ‘natural disasters' such as Mt Saint Helen's, floods, war, pandemics, etc. ) So you know your problem is internal or external. So what??? [^] Sooooo it matters not whether we or others created the problems, God has a solution to them. His solution is to use what you know from the bible to make decisions (based upon your best judgment – at the moment) and to use the Faith Rest procedure to remain calm, relaxed in spite of the pressure, and have courage to move forward because God will fulfill His promise. > V2 goes on – [^] Psalm 91:2 I will say to the Lord, [your conclusion upon using the F/R procedure] "[You are] My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!" So the result of using the F/R procedure is coming to the conclusion that God will fulfill the promise to you (that is, you are trusting God) so that you can say (to yourself and others) God is my refuge and my fortress. Also you thank God, in prayer or verbally to others, “My God delivered me because I trust Him” (I trust His word – promises). So you are praising God and thanking Him with your thinking because He will and does protect you. But, this is only for the believer who is using Rebound and the F/R procedure. See when you follow God's thinking and use His tools and develop the spiritual skills to live your life (CWLiving) then God blesses you and part of the blessing is protection per Psalm 91. Also look how personal v2 is. My refuge, My fortress, My God. As I said God wants to have a personal relationship with you. This is you having a personal relationship with God by using His tools (promises) to live your life. And as I said you become grateful to Him for giving you these promises to use in daily life. I like v3 because it has been true in my life. [^] Psalm 91:3 For it is He [God] who delivers you from the snare of the trapper [people and circumstances in life], And from the deadly pestilence [deadly hazards like corona virus]. The snare of the trapper is an illustration of traps in life. Who would set traps for you in life? Have you ever had people in your life who were out for you and wanted to do you harm? I have. I have had bosses at work that ‘hated' me and wanted to destroy my career. I knew it and I did not react to them. I treated them with kindness and respect and I did my job to the best of my ability. And no matter what these bosses tried to do, in the end, they had no effect on my career. [nor my RMA] Now this sounds like I was perfect in all of this. I was not. A few times I got depressed and worried BUT when I did, I Rebounded and used the F/R procedure and went back to a relaxed state so I could do my job. And that is what happens most if not all the time. Sometimes we fail. We Rebound and go back to using the F/R procedure. So God protected me, I was allowed to do my job and very successfully. Then later God's solution was to give me a better job (a promotion). So God did not make the person go way, instead, He protected me so I could do my job and He ‘promoted' me and the person who ‘hated' me, got to ‘stew in their own juices' while watching me be successful. This is an example of God protecting me because I was using His solutions to the problem. > Circumstances in life can also lay traps for you, but again the solution is the same – Rebound when necessary and diligently use the F/R procedure. The second part of v3 I covered in the example of the pestilence above, using the corona virus as an illustration. [^] Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with His pinions [feathers], And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark [a defensive wall – like a castle wall]. Here is a picture of v4a that says it all. [^] Notice how the mother bird is holding on to her chicks. Physically protecting them, giving them cover and warmth – that is total protection. Notice also that the chicks could fly away if they wanted to. But they are choosing to stay under her protection. Same with us and God. We can remove ourselves from God's protection by using human solutions to problems instead of using God's solutions. So it is our choice, use God's solutions or use human solutions. Versus 5-7 are additional descriptive illustrations of terrors that can affect Believers. [^] Psalm 91:5 ¶ [result from v2 of using F/R procedure] You will not be afraid of the terror by night [criminality, etc], Or of the arrow that flies by day [warfare]; Psalm 91:6 Of the pestilence [corona virus, black plague] that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon [earthquake, volcano, tsunami]. Notice night and day, darkness and noon – this is a reference that God protects the believer 24 hrs/day! God never sleeps. He is on the job 24 hrs/day, 7 days/week. [^] Psalm 91:7 A thousand may fall [die] at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it [terrors and disasters] shall not approach you. V7 is interesting. You might be in the midst of a great natural disaster or the corona virus with thousands dying all around you but it, the disasters and terrors, will not affect you. We are blessed (by God) in the USA and we do not have many disasters like other parts of the world, but when we do, God protects the believer who is executing His Plan for their lives. [^] Psalm 91:8 You will only look on with your eyes, And see the recompense of the wicked [Justice of God in action]. V8 is interesting because it now introduces what happens to those who are evil, from v3 and 5-7. Not only are you protected but the Justice of God punishes those who are evil (anti-God, believers not using His Divine Solutions in life and unbelievers). You will many times see that they get Divine Justice from God for their deeds. Recompense – How would you like to be in the Recompense side of God's Justice?? Versus 9 & 10 are a conclusion. [^] Psalm 91:9 For you [the Believer using the F/R procedure] have made the Lord, my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place. Psalm 91:10 No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent [where you live]. V9 is a restatement of v1-2 and the conclusion of all these terrors and adversities is that you are protected wherever you are. These 9 verses give you enough background to understand what God is telling Believers who a executing His Plan for their lives, the protection and comfort He provides 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. And, and the recompense for those bel who do not and for those unbel who are evil. [^ Blank Screen] So this is a great example of God's promise to believers who Rebound when necessary and use the F/R procedure to handle problems, anxieties, disasters, evil and adversities of life. God protects the ones He Loves. And since He is an all-powerful God, He has the means to provide protection to His loved ones. You can see His Divine Essence in action. His Righteousness not tolerating evil and His Justice executing justice on evil in this world, His Omniscience knowing what will happen in advance and having a plan to protect the believer in these circumstances, His Omnipotence shielding the believer from the consequences of evil and disasters, even when those around you are affected. He does all this because He Loves you and you responded to His Love by first believing in Jesus Christ for salvation and then following His procedures, commands and getting to know and appreciate Him and trusting Him for deliverance from the problems of life. God can only keep His promises and in them is true security. Once you latch on to what Psalm 91 says, and once you understand the context of Psalm 91 as a whole, and once you believe God's promise, and trust God for the fulfillment of Psalm 91, then you have security. You have security in your salvation, you have security in your life, both physical and spiritual, you have eternal security, you have everything that you need, every resource to be secure in this life, no matter what. Psalm 91 is a benefit in the midst of adversity, it is a benefit in the midst of a corona virus plague. Also as you are relaxed, you look around at others who are in panic and fear and you can ‘see' what a wonderful God you have, that Loves you and protects you. Last thoughts Why is the F/R procedure so important? Why do I keep telling you to be diligent in using Rebound and the F/R procedure? What does claiming God's promises on some specific ‘issue' you are having do? First if you trust God and believe His promise(s) then you can be relaxed. That is called a Relaxed Mental Attitude (RMA). You can relax, you do not have to dwell on your problems, you let God handle them. What else does a RMA bring to you? Courage. Courage under adversity or better said Courage under fire (as in a battle). So what if - you momentarily think about your problem(s) that you asked God to handle by using the F/R procedure? There is nothing wrong with that. It happens. Remember Crunch! Give yourself grace. But if you dwell on them more than momentarily, then you have in essence told God that you want to handle them. So you need to Rebound (you told God that He was going to handle them and you changed your mind, not trusting God) and then you must use the F/R procedure again for that problem. See there is a solution for that too. Think about this for a moment. When a problem comes up, you are able to claim a promise and calm down, by utilizing the Faith Rest procedure, and have a Relaxed Mental Attitude (RMA), under adversity and that is something that only the believer in Jesus Christ has at their disposal, only the believer. You should be able to see what a great God we have. You should be experiencing encouragement of both God's presence and His care for you. You will rest with the confidence that whatever happens in life is with His knowledge and nothing happens outside of his knowledge (Omniscient). Psalm 91. And you know what? This is one of several problem solving procedures God has provided for believers only. You are well taught and know God provides 10 PSDs that you can use. We just looked at two. Rebound and F/R procedure. Now it is your job to use these two diligently! ############### ############### Morning Thought Process Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. How do we do this? What is our Morning Thought Process? Recalling what God says and tell us to do. Recalling Psalm 118:24 and then using the Faith Rest Procedure for any and all concerns we have. Daily, which is another say of saying: diligently using the Faith Rest Procedure. So, in the morning it begins with Thinking and recalling God. Psalm 55:22 [CMD] Cast [all] your burden upon the Lord [TLJC], [Promise] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous [believers using the CWLiving] to be shaken. So you can pray: Dear Heavenly Father, I have these thoughts of unsurety and I need your help to combat them by using Psm 55:22; therefore I cast the following (name them) to you …. Deuteronomy 20:3 … “Hear, O Israel [believers using CWLiving], you are approaching the battle against your enemies [problems, adversities of life] today. Do not be fainthearted. Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble before them, Deuteronomy 20:4 [Promise] for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save [or deliver] you.” … (continuation of the prayer above) and I know you God are the One who goes with me and fights for me in Deut 20:3-4 … Isaiah 40:28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord [TLJC], the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. … Isaiah 40:29 [Promise] He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power [physical and mental courage and a RMA]. … Therefore Heavenly Father I claim your further promise of Isa 40:28-29 to strengthen me so I do not give in to wrong thinking and I express my feelings, give me more strength to handle them… Psalm 91:15 [Promise] He [believers using CWLiving] will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him, and honor him. … because I know based upon your promise of Psalm 91:15 that you will answer my request and you will rescue me and I will know that rescue comes from you … Luke 1:37 [Promise] "For nothing will be impossible with God.” … for nothing is impossible with You (Omnipotent). And I know that I am to … James 1:2 ¶ [CMD] Consider [thinking vs. emoting, consider all that you know about God and His essence] it all happiness, my brethren, when you encounter various trials [testings, adversities, Providential Preventative Sufferings], v3 knowing that the testing of your faith [doctrine, F/R Drill -- ex. Job, Paul in prison] produces endurance [hupomone – w/ circumstances]. v4 And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing. … Thank you Heavenly Father, I pray in Christ's name, Amen.
Episode 132 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features a lengthy interview with recently retired NHL goalie Anders Nilsson.In the feature interview, presented by Sense Arena, Nilsson talks about the slow recovery from a concussion and neck injuries that have kept him off the ice since December 2019, and ultimately forced him to call it a career after seven NHL seasons -- and a one-year interlude in the KHL -- with the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks and Ottawa Senators. Nilsson shares several great stories and lessons from his path to -- and through -- professional hockey, including learning reverse-VH while playing for Lulea in Sweden (which won't be a surprise to anyone who has read our story about the invention of the technique over there) only to be told by the Islanders goalie coaches in 2011 that it would never work in the NHL. Yikes.Nilsson was also candid about his career getting kickstarted by access to better coaching and development resources in the KHL in 2014-15 than he'd been getting in the NHL up to that point.
