Breaking Down “Nobody Wants This”: Archetypes, Jealousy, & Getting Aroused by Big Words

Lauren and Trey dive into Season 2 of Netflix's Nobody Wants This, and yes, there are definitely spoilers. The first third of the episode is pure chaos in the best way: the two of them can't stop laughing, Lauren's in a short skirt and tights, and Trey keeps telling listeners to go watch the video version because “you really need to see her outfit and hair today.”Things heat up even more when Trey drops words like “archetype” and “tools for repair.” Lauren - ever the unabashed sapiosexual - keeps teasing that he's absolutely getting lucky if he keeps talking like that. From there, they break down the dynamics unfolding on the show: the “good boyfriend” archetype, the guilt around taking a “night off,” long-term relationship ruts, and, of course, jealousy in monogamous partnerships. That last one opens the door to a tender moment where Lauren admits she can't know for sure if Trey will stay forever… and also knows she'd be okay, because of who she's become. They talk about the importance of telling the truth, even when it's uncomfortable—like on their recent train ride back from NYC when Trey said, “That's not OK, and you need to talk to your coach about that,” and Lauren appreciated the honesty instead of bristling. The episode wraps with the two of them taking turns pretending to be characters from the show and “coaching” each other through messy plotlines. It's hilarious, revealing, and full of heart. If you want support working through the kinds of relationship patterns and dynamics you see on the show, you can request a free consult with Lauren at www.sexedforyou.com/freeconsultIf this episode resonates with you, please like, subscribe, and share with someone who may need to hear these words.About Us: Lauren and Trey are partners living in Central Virginia where Lauren owns and operates, SEX ED FOR YOU. In this raw and relatable episode, Trey kicks things off by admitting he's craving sex — and it's been a while. Lauren affirms that it's good to want while sharing that she's in a deeply introspective phase of her menstrual cycle, shedding an old version of herself and leaning into rest. She offers a brief teaching on hormonal cycles — how men move through a 24-hour rhythm, while people with uteruses experience a month-long one — and how that difference can create tension and tenderness in partnerships.Grateful for Trey's care and presence, Lauren asks, “Is it enough to support your desire without offering sex?” Trey answers with a wholehearted yes and vulnerably names what he'd love instead: affirmation, touch, and playful attention. Together, they explore how to communicate wants without pressure, how to regulate in real-time, and how to meet each other with curiosity instead of conflict.By the end, Lauren's already planned a surprise for Trey — and at minute 27:00, they share an on-camera kiss that shows exactly what connection through honesty can look like.If you enjoyed this episode, like, share, and subscribe to The Partnership Podcast so more partners can learn these tools for connection and curiosity.Curious about applying this work in your own relationship? X: @ileaderssummit @americasrt1776 @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA @supertalk Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy featuring a special salute to our veterans with Tyler Kinch, a rising country artist and U.S. Air Force veteran. Listen to Tyler's single "Frontlines," a special exclusive on America's Roundtable. Tyler has had the honor of sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Justin Moore, Lee Greenwood, Nate Smith, Lonestar, Randy Houser, Collin Raye, Mike Ryan, Tanner Usrey, Matt Stell, Chris Janson, and many more. A few weeks ago, Tyler took the stage at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, where Secretary of War Pete Hegseth received an award by the Nestpoint Foundation. On the eve of Veterans Day we also focus on the concerns for those who served on the frontlines with a call to our fellow Americans to get involved in providing help and hope to those experiencing challenges. According to data in by the US Census of Bureau, there were an estimated 15.8 million military veterans in the U.S. as of late 2023. According to the VA's most recent National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report (2024), an average of 17.6 veterans die by suicide every single day. Although this figure is widely accepted, the real number may be even higher by "self-injury mortality," often through overdoses. In May 2025, the Trump administration highlighted the need to honor veterans, stating that the federal government “should treat veterans like the heroes they are.” As part of this commitment, the Trump administration signed an executive order to combat veteran homelessness by establishing the National Center for Warrior Independence, aiming to house 6,000 veterans by 2028. About Tyler Kinch: After serving in the military, Tyler swapped his combat boots for cowboy boots and took to the stage with a passion for country storytelling. For over a decade, he's lit up honky-tonks and festivals across the South, building a loyal following one heartfelt lyric at a time. In June of 2024, Arkansas Country Music honored Tyler as Entertainer of the Year, for the second year in a row. This award reflects not only his artistry but the impact he's made on the country music scene. He's had the honor of sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Justin Moore, Nate Smith, Lonestar, Randy Houser, Collin Raye, Mike Ryan, Tanner Usrey, Matt Stell, Chris Janson, Lee Greenwood, and many more. Known for his high-energy shows and heartfelt performances, Tyler Kinch continues to win over fans and country radio alike. His patriotic single “Frontlines” was featured on national television during a special Veterans Day segment on Fox & Friends, earning praise for its authenticity and emotional punch. With his single “Dancing with a Cowboy” released on early this year, followed by a full EP this past summer, Tyler is stepping into a breakout moment. americasrt.com (https://americasrt.com/) https://ileaderssummit.org/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 X: @ileaderssummit @americasrt1776 @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA @supertalk America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit. An expert on Iran and the Middle East, Tom Garrett's analysis and insights are enlightening as America's foreign policy and national security concerns are focused on a strategic region adversely impacted by Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism. Key Topics: The state of America's economy and the impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act focused on cutting taxes for everyday and hardworking Americans, including no tax on tips and overtime, no tax on social security, and savings for American families. Published report: _President Trump attacked global immigration and efforts to fight climate change during an address to the United Nations, claiming they were among the world's top threats to Western civilization. In an hour-long speech filled with grievances about ongoing wars, windmills and malfunctioning escalators, it was Trump's attacks against what he called a “double-tailed monster” that rang loudest in the ornate General Assembly room. “Immigration and the high cost of so-called green, renewable energy is destroying a large part of the free world and a large part of our planet,” he said. “Countries that cherish freedom are fading fast because of their policies on these two subjects. Both immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe.” “I'm telling you that if you don't get away from the ‘green energy' scam, your country is going to fail. If you don't stop people that you've never seen before that you have nothing in common with, your country is going to fail.” _ President Donald Trump, speech delivered at the United Nations, September 23, 2025 America's eyes are focused on state-wide elections in New Jersey and Virginia, with governors' races and the legislatures which will determine key policies including economic and social issues. Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with the Honorable Benjamin S. Carson, Sr. M.D., one of America's most principled leaders, a brilliant mind, and a champion of freedom. Dr. Ben Carson is the founder and chairman of the American Cornerstone Institute, the 17th U.S. Secretary of the Department of Housing and Development, and former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The conversation focuses on: * Domestic and foreign policy initiatives with a review on the successes of the second Trump Administration. * The importance of faith, family and patriotism in protecting our freedoms in America. * The ills of marxism and socialism and their manifestation in America. * Expanding homeownership and reigniting the American Dream. * Affirming Israel's sovereignty and protecting Jewish communities in the West. Our conversation also highlights Dr. Ben Carson's must-read book "The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture's War on the American Family." Quote from Dr. Ben Carson's book, "The Perilous Fight": "The perilous fight" was penned by Francis Scott Key in the midst of a most difficult and pivotal moment in our nation's history when twenty British ships bombarded Fort McHenry from the Baltimore Harbor. It was on the morning of September 14, 1814 that Francis Scott Key wrote about the ramparts, and the land of the free and the home of the brave which inspired a nation and became a rallying victory call. “The perilous fight—those words arrest my attention whenever I place my right hand over my heart and face the flag at the playing of our national anthem. They are a reminder that America was born in a crucible of fire. Freedom was not given freely but had to be fought for and defended.” ~ Dr. Ben Carson Biography | Dr. Ben Carson In 1973, Ben Carson graduated from Yale University. He went on to receive his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School. At the age of 33, Dr. Carson became the chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, making him the youngest major division director in the hospital's history. This would be among an extensive list of outstanding firsts for Dr. Carson. Dr. Carson's accomplishments have earned him a place in medical history. He performed the first and only successful separation of craniopagus (Siamese) twins joined at the back of the head in 1987. He also performed the first fully successful separation of type-2 vertical craniopagus twins in 1997 in South Africa. In his career, Dr. Carson became a professor of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery, and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and directed pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center for over 29 years. In 2016, Dr. Carson accepted the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump administration. After completing his tenure as the 17th Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute. This organization is focused on fighting for the principles that have guided him through life and that make this country great: faith, liberty, community and life. Dr. Carson and his wife, Candy Carson, co-founded the Carson Scholars Fund, which recognizes young people of all backgrounds for exceptional academic and humanitarian accomplishments. The organization has awarded more than 11,000 scholarships and paid out more than $8.9 million in scholarships. The Carson Scholars Fund is currently operating in 50 states and the District of Columbia, and since its founding, has installed more than 270 Ben Carson Reading Rooms around the country. In 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute (ACI), a conservative think tank centered around advancing policies that promote “faith, liberty, community, and life.” Dr. and Mrs. Carson reside in Florida. Lauren's answer may surprise you (and you'll have to listen to see if she chose the unfiltered or the compassionate version).Together, Trey and Lauren explore the dating challenges ambitious women face, why many men resist accountability, and how women and men often enter coaching from very different motivations. Lauren shares a tearful reflection on what Trey provides her—calling him her “soft place to land”—and why deep support, joy, and emotional presence matter just as much as great sex.She also celebrates the men she does get to work with—those hungry for tools to love women better—and why this feels deeply restorative and healing. To close, Lauren offers a trauma-informed perspective: that many men's avoidant behaviors are safety-seeking strategies learned in childhood. This conversation reframes what some call “high-value women” and clarifies what truly matters in creating the kind of partnership career-focused women are longing for.If you're a man ready to step into the kind of relationship women deeply desire, request a free consult today: www.sexedforyou.com/freeconsultAbout Us: Lauren and Trey are partners living in Central Virginia where Lauren owns and operates, SEX ED FOR YOU.
